2022.12.23 05:03 ChampionsLedge [WSIB] From my long wishlist with a lot of different varieties

Sorry, this is going to be a long one. I have a pretty large wishlist and I'm only after 3 or 4 games.
I was set on buying Last Epoch but it didn't go on sale. I own and have played what I think is pretty much every other similar style game. Is Last Epoch actually good enough in it's early access phase to justify being the most expensive game in the genre? What makes it so much better than the other games if you think it is?
Pretty much the only talk I hear about Deep Rock Galactic online is just the ROCK AND STONE meme and never actually about the gameplay or what makes it so good. Are there any games it's similar to? What keeps you coming back to it?
How's Dying Light 2 compared to Dying Light 1? What's the Coop like? Is the movement and combat the same or have they changed things? Is there any changes you're happy about?
Has anyone played Wrestling Empire? Is it more of a meme game or is it actually an ok game?
Nexomon, Nexomon: Extinction, Temtem, Siralim Ultimate, Coromon. If I want to play a Pokemon style game on PC, which one should I go for? I was following Temtem around launch but back then it had awful reviews. It looks like now it's turned it around though. I don't know anything about the other games.
Is Monster Sanctuary a platformer in the way that you will die if you miss a jump?
Is Hollow Knight a good introduction to platformers? I've never really tried playing them before since it's not something i'm good at. Is the DLC important for it?
Golf it! vs Golf With Your Friends. Which one is the way to go for 2-8 players? I remember that one of them only had about 2 hours of playtime but that was years ago. Do they both have a decent amount of official maps and then supported custom maps?
Would you recommend Just Cause 3 or 4 for someone who hasn't played since 2 came out on the Xbox 360?
Thoughts on Slasher's keep? What's the gameplay loop like, what keeps you keep playing it?
How many hours did you get out of Heroes of Hammerwatch? Did the DLC add much? It looks somewhat similar to Hero Siege as well, is that the case?
I never really got into Fallout 3 even with the community fix and New Vegas had some annoying mouse issues I couldn't be bothered fixing if I remember correctly. How is Fallout 4? I know it got shit on a lot around it's release but It seems to be alright now? If I couldn't get into FO3 will I like FO4?
Is Shadow of War a worthy successor to Shadow of Mordor? What's in the definitive edition?
Gunfire Reborn - how does it stack up against Borderlands?
If I wanted to play a game with Zombies should I look into Days Gone or State of Decay 2? Any other options?
What's Slime Rancher 2 like compared to the first? I'm looking for something quite relaxing but where I still have stuff to do.
What's Asterigos? Is it a Dark Souls style game or would you compare it to something else?
Rimworld is on sale even though it's a small one. I see that it has a few DLCs that seem quite expensive. Are they actually good enough for the high price? Even on sale the whole bundle is more expensive that a full price AAA game. Wouldn't any DLC for a game like Rimworld be able to be recreated with mods anyway?
I love the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. What's the game about and what's in the deluxe edition?
How's Valheim coming along? It looks like it's made some progress since I last saw it and I refunded it at about 1 hour in because I didn't think it was that great. How's both the singleplayer and multiplayer? Any major frustrations with the game or the devs? Do they have plans for Steam Workshop support?
How is the State of X4 and X3 these days? They're games I've always wanted to try but I've always been put off by how much time I think they would take to learn but then also just to play.
How good is the AI in Ravenfield? Are the games close sometimes or is it just a Sandbox where you can do what you want and kill AI? I see it's been in early access for over 5 years, why so long?
Is Raft a game that you come back to more than once? To me it seems like something that you'll play one night with friends and then even if you don't compelte it no one will suggest going back to finish it next week or whatever.
V Rising was very hyped up for a short amount of time. Does it still live up to the hype or can the game just not keep you interested for very long?
Melvor Idle is just Runescape without the graphics right? Is there actually any big differences between the 2 other than you don't actually see the world? Can you interact with other people? I've heard people say this is by far the best Idle game out there. If you buy it on steam do you also get acces to it on your phone or would you have to buy it again to play on mobile?
Riftbreaker I was interested in this game for a bit and then heard someone in passing say that it wasn't very long and they didn't think it had a lot of replayability.
If I wanted some sort of party turn based game like final fantasy but hate the anime style of graphics, what should I be looking at?
What's the best introduction to Dark Souls style games? I know that I got Remnant: From the Ashes free on Epic a long time ago, would that be one?
Is there any very well populated games similar to Call of Duty? I love how quick and easy it was to jump into a game and just start killing people and also not having to run across a huge map to do that like in Battlefield.
I played the XCOM:EU a while ago but I almost exclusively used the robot allies once I unlocked them and they made the game very easy while also being able to ignore some mechanics that I found annoying on my very first attempt at playing it. My understanding is that XCOM 2 doesn't have these robots. Is there any other games similar to XCOM with other cheesey units?
A lot of the games in my steam library are shooters or open world exploration games that want to suck in my time and have me play for hours to make noticeable progress. Are there any games that I can just jump into, do some stuff for a bit and actually feel like I'm advancing?

2022.08.04 12:51 Mysterious_Plate2258 How do I find my maps in local files?

I've been playing the cracked version of Ravenfield (i know, cracked version haram etc... ) for a few months and have decided to buy the full game, since I truly believe Steelraven7 has done an excellent job. However, I've been hesitant. I have made a few maps in the in-game editor, which I wouldn't want to lose. I really want to preserve them. My question is, are custom maps saved in a specific folder so I can move them to the Steam version of Ravenfield? If so, I would be happy to buy the full version, and even post my maps on the workshop if I see them fit for posting.

2022.07.29 19:08 Epsilon_One Realistic mods vs 'just for fun' mods?

I have played alot of Ravenfield these past few months and with that I keep installing new mods. I have about 22+ pages of workshop mods installed and my game is running slower past bot counts of 100 so I need to uninstall some mods but I find that most of my mods fall into one of two categories: Realistic ones that I used to replicate real world conflicts or create fictitious but grounded ones (I.E real world vehicles and guns) and then ones I have more for fun that are often inspired by real world stuff but are slightly different and kinda allow you to escape into a fantasy battlefield and just have fun (I.E. vanilla+) The question is which would you guys prefer?
I personally love the more realistic mods but then again who needs 50+ variants of an AAK? Also isn't there enough more realistic shooters out there? If I really want to play them so badly maybe I should and stop trying to emulate them all in Ravenfield? But I do love mods like LETMS tanks and what not, they really add alot to the game and feel better than the Vanilla+ vehicles (mainly because there is alot more you can do with them)
That being said I also like the simplicity of the vanilla+ theme. A very simple game about blowing up bots. I'd play with both but I just have too many mods and more keep coming out that I want to use especially maps (and the file size on those is quite big)
So my question in the end is which do you prefer to play with? More realistic or more vanilla Ravenfield styled stuff that isn't meant to be taken super seriously?

2022.07.16 06:06 StupidWaffleGuy What are some good mods I should use?

I just recently bought ravenfield and loving every second of it, but I have decided to try the workshop content and I'm just stumped on what mods to use. Any links/ mod names would be awesome, Thanks!

2022.06.18 08:44 RadiantWestern2523 Any Alternatives for Ravenfield?

I know this is a bit of a stretch, but is there any alternative workshop downloader for Ravenfield?
And yes, I know about the Tampermonkey script that allows you to download them straight from the workshop. The problem is that it cannot download newer mods, which is a bummer.
Anyone out there got an alternative that can download new mods as well?

2022.05.09 23:15 JustADamnFrenchGuy (Ravenfield Vanilla++) My take on Kestrel's Vangard MBT from Ravenfield's workshop. An old and obsolete vehicle, yet it's still has quite a punch with it's 106mm, and it's armor can still somewhat protect against some projectiles and still has good mobility.

2022.05.09 01:27 vladald1 How to boost FPS in Ravenfield?

If you a low-spec player like me (rip power supply on my decent rig with GTX 1050, now I'm using crappy laptop) - you probably wondering how you can get more FPS. This is actually very simple with these steps
  1. Change in-game setting This is a no-brainer and you probably already did that, but I'm gonna describe how some setting affect FPS: - Quality level on "Fastest" lowers textures to the minimum, Fast makes textures decent (I think they don't go higher in quality with higher levels), Simple enables shadows. Other qualities I won't cover, since they affect FPS the most, but in short - they make shadows look smoother and post-processing shenanigans look better. - V-Sync turn off, no-brainer - High Dynamic Range I keep off, but I don't really see any difference with enabling or disabling it. - AA off, but FXAA shouldn't affect your performance that much - Draw Distance - Reduced - Terrain Quality - I keep it at high, because visually Low looks awful and I didn't saw any drastic performance changes - Vegetation Density - None - Vegetation Draw Distance - Short, for some reason maps that are using LOD trees aren't affected by these settings, I think you need to restart the game to make this setting work. - Muzzle Flash Light - Off - affects FPS noticeably - Weather Effects - Off - tbh with you, I don't even see that much of the difference - Cloth Physics - probably Off, but I'm using Flag mutator (which I would mention later on) on small maps, so it really depends on situation. - Color Correction - I don't see any difference with performance, so I dunno.... - Ambient Occlusion - On, makes the game look nicer, but if you want that FPS boost - keep it off, but it's such a noticeable setting that I encourage at least to keep this setting on to make your game a little bit better visually. - Switch VIDEO tab to GAME tab and disable Blood Splats - Field Of View can also affect performance because of how much you see on the screen, 70 is the lowest.
  2. Mutators Some mutators affect performance veryyyy noticeable, some of the prime examples are: - Flag mutator by Red It drops FPS by half or even worse on my laptop, unplayable on demanding maps. - Minimap Mutator by RadioactiveJellyfish Some mutators provide settings to improve performance, this is one of them. Default setting for low-spec rig can make your game run like poop, so uncheck almost every setting in that mutator or disable it altogether because in-game map (which is on default key: M) already provides useful information. But to keep it short - make your mutator count as low as possible.
  3. Map choice Some maps are not low-spec friendly if they have too much detail. Map-creators gonna make sure to mention it on workshop description, so read that bloody description before subscribing to that eye candy map.
  4. Amount of mods I have 4GB RAM on my laptop, but the amount of mods that I'm using are 6.7GB (maps aren't included to that size, so you can download them as much as you want). This can also affect performance and I don't recommend to follow my example with having too much mods. For this step - I recommend to find alternatives, for example we have "[WW2 Collection] M1911A1" by Mellamomellamo, Laureen and WeeErazer, which is 3.507 MB, on the other hand we have " M79 + M1911 (Unity 2020)" by sigmoton, which is 2.694 MB. Sigmoton variant includes two weapons and takes less size on your HDD/SSD, but it also loads much faster to Ravenfield and doesn't load your RAM that much, which is always a good thing. And boy, more weapons with less size - who doesn't want that?
  5. Using More Visual Config (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2799415310) This is the best mutator for potato PC and laptops. If you still struggle with bad performance even if you followed previous steps - this is the mod for you. But if you still have bad FPS even with this mutator - I'm sorry, but your PC is that garbage - play Battlefield 2 with mods (great game btw) or update your specs. Here's what you need to do: - Enable all of the "Clear.." options, like "Clear Projectile Decal" (which will remove bullet holes and explosion dust) - ESPECIALLY enable the "Clear Post-Processing filter" - it will almost double your FPS, but it has one drawback - Night Vision becomes useless since it removes green filter. So yeah, don't play night maps with this option.
  6. Bot count I'm used to playing older Battlefield titles, so if the map is small - I'm using 16 bots, if the map is big - 32 or something around 40. Yes, this is way lower what map-makers expect you to play their maps, but bot count is the most CPU heavy thing for this game, so don't ignore it. Honorable mention Dual-Render scopes weapons are heavy on the performance, enabling AA even makes it even worse, but even without it - you shouldn't use them. Most weapons should come with vanilla style scope, but if it doesn't - just unsub from that mod, because you won't use that weapons - seeing as it drops your FPS that much.
