| I recently applied to become one in my area and I was rejected for the following reasons: -Image Focus/Sharpness -Image Noise/Grain -Insufficient Lens Size(s): Need to be able to reach all athletes These are the images I submitted. I just wanted to get a better idea of what MaxPreps is looking for in its photographs. I graduate soon and I am looking for ways to really start making some more money off of my photography. I have a new R6 and an EF 70-200 IS II. Most of these images were taken with a 1DX. Just wanted to know if anyone else has been successfully hired, thanks! submitted by precisionshots to sportsphotography [link] [comments] |

2022.12.27 08:34 dat_goalkeeper_jy Will not being ECNL or mls next lower my chances of reviving a scholarship or being looked at?
I am a goalkeeper (sophomore in highschool) and I play club. My parents canāt afford travel wise MLS next or ECNL. Iāve had coaches tell me and my parents I have potential and I even managed (I even screen shotted it) to be listed as number 1 in California and 5th in the nation for saves in total on maxpreps if that matters. I fear that not being ECNL or mls will lower my chances of being scouted because all my parents can do is NPL. Will it affect my chances?

2022.11.10 05:18 Rustagee Jserra vs Newport Harbor
Newport and Jserra are now in the Open Division finals after defeating their strong opponents, Harvard-Westlake and Mater Dei in the semifinals. Both teams are almost undefeated Newport with only one loss 26-1 (from Jserra) and Jserra going 22-3 (one by Newport). It seems like an interesting match and I just wanted to see what the people of reddit who may also follow cif. (Source for w/l: Maxpreps)
Edit: The CIF game is now over by a very close game of 10-9

2022.11.08 23:28 Swoody11 Itās time to put Rome Odunze on your ā23 radars
Since the Eric Gray post seemed to get some good feedback/traction, letās have another go at this.
These āon your radarā posts arenāt necessarily putting a spotlight on the top 24 picks in your rookie drafts. Rather, Iām going to try to create a series of posts that talks and highlights some of the lesser talked about prospects in this upcoming draft class.
Iāll likely run out of guys and people to talk about at some point, but going through my āwatch listā I think Iāve got enough to pump out 1-2 prospects per week until the combine.
Anyways, onto one of my favorite āunder the radarā guys in this ā23 class that seemingly lacks WR depth.
Meet Rome Odunze: 6ā3, 205 pounds. True junior. WR playing at Washington.
Odunze was a decorated highschool prospect, garnering offers from nearly every noteworthy top 25 program as a recruit. Just to list a few: USC, Bama, Texas, Tennessee, Florida, etc. He was named the Gatorade player of the year for Nevada and MaxPreps player of the year for Nevada. Former 4 star prospect. 247Sports had him listed as the #32 WR recruit/#185 overall prospect in the nation for his recruiting class.
Rome played in 6 games his freshman year racking up 6 catches for 72 yards. Nothing to write home about.
As a sophomore, he took a big step forward, gaining 415 yards on 41 catches while only playing in 9 games on a limited offense.
This season though⦠oh man. Rome is taking OFF. With the addition of QB transfer Michael Penix (from Indiana), Rome has amassed 858 yards on 57 catches (average of 15.1 yards/reception!) through 9 games.
His size is evident as soon as you turn on the tape. He plays to every bit of his 6ā3 frame and has extremely long arms to boot. He makes routine acrobatic catches and displays incredible body control, routinely making toe taps on the boundary.
Here Rome imitates THE OBJ catch to near perfection vs Washington State last season, showing off the sticky hands and body control:
https://youtu.be/rtxEQ3iuO18 Rome fits the traditional X profile at the NFL level but is easy to move around the formation as need be: he has excellent hands, a good feel for beating zone coverage, seems quick out of his breaks and has good, not great, speed.
I love his game and would encourage everyone to watch some film on him. Here is a good starting point:
https://youtu.be/jOphSCon2xE Rome runs the āwhipā or āarrowā route at :22 for a score. Not an easy route to pull off, regardless of level, if you donāt sell the slant against the inside leverage DB here heās just jumping the route and taking it for 6. Rome doesnāt just sell it, he breaks the Dbās ankles off in the process.
The catch at :35 shows him efficiently beating man-press coverage off the line and then going on to display some of his YAC capabilities.
The catch at 1:55 is a good demonstration of his ability to fight through contact at the catch.
Overall I see him as a prospect that will quickly rise up draft boards as the draft approaches, should he declare this year. He offers a size element that is lacking as a whole in this class and has some great traits that could be refined into a WR2 for an NFL team.
He doesnāt seem to have any true āgamebreakingā speed/YAC but his hands are the definition of reliable and he does a good job working to the ball and catching away from his body.
I have no idea what NFL evaluators will think about him as a prospect, but it seems Iām not the only one on the Rome train now:
https://twitter.com/jacobinfante24/status/1588927730879725568?s=46&t=Tt1J86LbJLYv0NZPMCIDdw Some stats before he crushed Oregon State this past weekend:
https://twitter.com/pfn365/status/1588229772659892228?s=46&t=Tt1J86LbJLYv0NZPMCIDdw I could easily see him being a day 2 guy if he tests well and I donāt think Iāve seen his name mentioned anywhere in this sub yet.
He also gets bonus points for a sick name.

2022.11.08 02:10 JPAnalyst [OC] Jeff Saturday's winning percentage by year as a head coach
Here is Jeff Saturday's year-by-year winning percentage in his three years at Hebron Christian Academy, the Fighting Lions. This is his only head coaching experience, so we should look at it and make some bold assumptions. It looks like he gave the team a lift when he got there and then things went downhill when he left. Obviously, this is exactly what's going to happen when he comes to the NFL because it happened at Hebron. So, Colts fans rejoice!
Also, there is a narrative going around on Twitter that he was 3-7 in his last year at Hebron, even Max Preps has him 3-7 in some links, but that's not the case. His replacement,
Stan Luttrell went 3-7 in his first year after replacing Saturday.
Anyway, I hope you like this chart I made during my company All-Hands meeting today. It seemed like a better use of my time than listening to Salespeople talk about their big wins this month and thanking everyone involved in the big sales wins.

2022.10.23 01:12 JakeTheIV Making a Marching Band Scores Website
Marching band contest scores are very inconvinient to look at. Each contest publishes results in its own website, so trying to find marching band scores requires digging through multiple websites. Many websites are not that user friendly
(looking at you BoA, WHY DO YOU NOT SORT BY RANK??), and there is no single website that aggregates all the results from different contests. I want to change this.
I am currently working on a marching band scores website. A website like
MaxPreps or
SportsReference but for marching contest results. I want to store every single major marching band contest result on there and also have a "Power Ranking" system that kind of aggregates all the different contest results together. I currently have a lot of scores from different contests stored in
CSV. My problem is that I have zero experience with web design or website making or SQL. Since I have all the data,
- How do I get started on making a website like this?
- How do I move all CSV data to the website and make it pretty and organized?
If anyone has any experience with coding, website design, or sports statistics in general, please help! I feel like a website like this would help so many marching band fans!!
