I need suggestions/advice from people related to Data Science/ Machine Learning field. Please share your two cents. I am MS student with non it background.Currently i am working as a student with a professor. I have got a thesis opportunity related to Data Science project at the same place. I also want to shift my career to data science. 2) Train in mindfulness and meditation by mounting the slogans “Notice this…” and “relaxing!” upon your respective inhalations and exhalations.
3) Contemplate the non-duality slogans “they and me…” “how NOT two?”.
4) Return to mindfulness and meditation.
5) Contemplate the love slogans “Profound health…” “now for ALL!”.
And 6) return again to mindfulness and meditation.
7) As your stamina builds, this cycle of exercises three through six
could be repeated for 2, 4, or even 8 sets.
8) Seal the practice by chanting the Four Immeasurables; repeat these eight steps every twelve hours and you could meditate like a Jedi

So, I got a 96 Ranger 2wd that started howling. NTB listened to it with their stethoscope for $60 and told me pinion bearings. I took it apart, and had a hard time seeing bad bearings. The guys at my local independent auto parts store agreed. I replaced the front pinion bearing (closest one to flange, right?), probably did the preload wrong cause I got a cheap torque wrench, measured the backlash, put it together, aaaaand it still howled around 15-20 mph. Replaced axle bearings, still howled. I decided to replace the rear pinion and ring gear bearings just to cover all my bases. When removing, the spider gears fell out, and I noticed a broken shim on one. New set ordered. Then my parts store guy (they remove and press on the pinion and ring gear bearings) called me to say he felt a strange wear pattern on the pinion gear and also suspected the shim under the pinion bearing was not spec.

1. Will a shop be able to machine the pinion gear or do I just order a new set (around 150 on rock auto)?
   
2. Does the new one come with the correct shim?
   
3. If I rent the $100 torque wrench from autozone to do the preload right, measure backlash on multiple gear teeth, and paint the gears to check contact pattern, what are my chances of doing this correctly?
   

I'm good with taking it to a shop to check my work when done. Do they do this? I'm happy to pay for their time. I really want to learn to do this myself.

Soooo I may be massively overthinking this but I am a champion-level overthinker so that's normal for me. If I'm not overthinking it though, I'm super worried that I made a huge mistake.
I got my registration renewal notice prior to my license plate (the original old white and green one) expiring in October, but I really did not want to get the new standard TN plate (the dark blue one) because I wanted to get a specialty plate instead. However, you have to go to the county clerk office in person if you want to get a new specialty tag which, between my work schedule + traveling a lot for work + being out of the country for a chunk of the winter, I did not have time to do until today (I know, I know - I could have forced a way to make time.... but I didn't and I can't go back and change that now).
Yesterday, I came back to my legally-parked car and was surprised to see a ticket - it was for having an expired registration. I was annoyed because I knew I was planning on going to get my new plate today, but I couldn't have known that a cop would see my plate and ticket me while I was at work the day before I was planning on (finally) getting a new plate.
So I went to get the plate today and I mentioned that I had been out of the country for a chunk and was sorry that I was so late getting the registration renewed. The gal who helped me was super understanding and handed me an affidavit to sign stating that I had not driven the car (it also said had not received any citations) since the registration expired as if that was totally fine - I told her that I had in fact driven the car but she just said "yeah it's fine, thanks for your honesty but it's all good, just sign this" and I honestly didn't know what to do at that point so I just didn't mention the ticket. Then she deactivated my old license plate number, I paid for the new license plate, and I left (absolutely panicking in my overthinker brain). I tried to pay the ticket online, but it wouldn't go through. I even called the ticket office people and they said it just isn't in the system yet and to try again next week.
My question is this - am I going to get into serious trouble if it becomes clear that I'm paying a ticket on what is now a deactivated license plate because I signed that form?? Or is it more likely that I will just pay the ticket and move on with my life and everything will be fine?

TL;DR - Didn't renew license plate after it expired because I wanted a specialty tag, got a ticket on my parked car yesterday for expired registration, got a new tag today and was made to sign a form saying I hadn't driven or received a citation on the car and was told it was fine even though I told the lady that I had driven it, now I'm worried that I'll get into serious trouble trying to pay the ticket on my now-deactivated old license plate.

I've been assembling these battle boxes from sets with 4-5 precons to bring to my local LGS, and I'm wondering if there's any good suggestions for what I could pack these decks in. I've tried the Stanley toolboxes and use them for my normal EDH decks, but for what I'm looking to do they are just too big. Has anyone had any success with something smaller? I would need storage for life wheels, dice, and 4-5 decks. Eventually I'd like to customize the outside so each box can be like a little trip to the plane each set if from!

I have been confused for sometime about how expense ratios are charged with mutual fund or ETFS.

1. How vanguard VOO has an expense ratio of 0.03%. Is this an annual charge of 0.03% of my money in that fund? If so, when does the charge actually happen? Let's say I don't have my money in that VOO fund the entire year am I still charged the 0.03%, even though they only managed my money for half the time?
   
2. I have my 401k in the S&P 500 right now because the expense ratio is lower than a target date fund and I am young. But when I get older, 45-50 years of age, I want to move all my money from the S&P to the target date fund 2060. Let's say the expense ratio for that target date fund is 0.08% and I move $50,000 over. Will they instally charge me that 0.08% on the $50,000 or do they wait a year?
   
3. This is a side question to question 3. I really do have my 401k all in the S&P 500 due to low expense ratio fees. And plan on keeping it there till I am older and then moving it to the target date fund where it will lower my risk. Is this a good or bad move? Am I hurting my funds by not having it in the target date fund now? I really don't see why I would put it in the target date fund if the S&P has cheaper fees and gets similar or better returns than the target date fund.
   

Please give me some insight on how these Fund Expenses are charged to me when using them.

I will be graduating in May of 2024 from my university. I'm a psychology major and cognitive science minor. I want to find a way to ease into the career world but I honestly have no idea where to start. I'm in the process of joining Psy Chi to hopefully find some research labs to help in but I still need help with how exactly to find places that want students working. Is it possible to ease into a career without having my BA yet? I also plan to go straight into a masters program so I'm trying to find something that'd tie into that, if that makes sense. My advisors at school are no help so I came to Reddit haha

So I am 19 and have struggled with multiple eating disorders since I was 16. I chose to start recovering last summer and have been weight restored since late September. The issue is that I still deal with some issues from back during my Ed days. My hair still tends to fall out, I get cold very easily, have hot flashes, am always tired, and still have no libido, even though I’ve completely fixed my eating and eat a lot. My weight has gone up too and I have gained a good amount of fat. The only thing that hasn’t stopped though is my exercise. I typically weight lift 4-5 times a week heavy, and do a lot of cardio still. I was wondering if that still has an effect on my body and whether I should stop or not. This is such a hard thing for me because I have been exercising since I was 15 and I am so used to it but I don’t know if it’s helping or hindering me now. I have noticed that during my breaks from working out on the weekends, I tend to feel much more energetic, my body hair tends to grow back, and my hair grows in better too. It is just so odd to me because I thought eating a lot would fix the problem and I eat a good 3-4 plates with every meals and include everything in my diet. If anyone has any advice it would greatly be appreciated.

Sorry if this is super wordy. Including all details because I feel like I'm going crazy.
Last year I went to psychotherapy for a couple months through a telehealth service. I found a small organization and therapist who seemed to specialize in what I was dealing with and had good recommendations. It cost $150 per 45 minute session. Conducted by phone weekly.
One of the sessions was scheduled in the middle of the day so I had to take off work. Never received a phone call. After 15 minutes I emailed asking what had happened and if we could reschedule. A full hour after the appointment time he replied saying he had called once, and offered a reschedule time the next week. Also let me know if that happened again he would drop me, essentially. I sent a screenshot of my call history, including missed work calls, but nothing from him. No reply, I thought we had an understanding.
He later charged my card full cost for a "no show." I sent him an email explaining that I didn't think it was reasonable, I did everything I could have, used vacation, etc. He sent a somewhat condescending email back about how I should make sure my spam filter is off (it is, I work in IT. No other issue with his calls.) and I should call him if he doesn't call me after 10 minutes. I did not know this was possible, as he relays through an out of state service. Also, it seems like only trying once is kind of ridiculous. He clearly wasn't devoting the time to me since my email went unanswered until after the session should have ended. He refused to discuss billing further outside our appointment time.
At this point I also cancel further meetings since I felt a bit taken advantage of, and lay out my final case. He responds that he understands. But no refund. After a month, I call and leave a message with the parent organization and it is forwarded to him.. He plays dumb saying "I understand you have further billing questions?" and once again ignores my reply. This was almost a month ago.
The documents I signed specify I am financially responsible for no shows or late cancels, but doesn't define those terms. It definitely doesn't say I'm responsible for all technical issues on either end, or what my options are if I don't get a call.
Is that a valid case for chargeback? I don't want to be a jerk, but that $150 means a lot to my family right now.

Hi really could use advice on my current situation. As the title states, my GF has an aneurysm we found out about a few months ago. She's avoiding surgery due to past medical experiences, and also it is pretty expensive. She currently tried injections, that will cost around $7k every 4-months. The doctor stated she at least needs to do that to survive. However, that's pretty unaffordable for the average person. I think her insurance pays around 75%, and the $7k is what she will pay after insurance. She's tried negotiating the price, but that's where they're at. If she pays in full it will be the $7k mentioned, vs. around $10k not paying total price and overtime. - She doesn't want to get into debt if she can help it, understandably so.
Now for why I mentioned the immigrant status, she's looking at moving back home to South America. The treatment will be significantly cheaper for the same injections and will last 2 years vs. the 4-month dose. However, she's on asylum and won't be allowed to return to the U.S. she's been here for several years now and has built a life with a dog a house and moved most of her family here. For that, she doesn't necessarily want to move and have to go years of figuring out how to return or reunite with her family after doing it to come here.
I'm lost at what help I can provide if any. I'm asking here to hope someone has resources they can share or experiences. Any help would be great. We're exhausted mentally and emotionally, and the only answer she feels are open to her is to pay the bills and commit what feels like financial suicide or die from the causes. Regardless the injections seems like they will be unaffordable.

I have been having this weird dream lately that I've had a few times now. It's so weird.
It often starts in what I know is my mum's room in the dream, but is unfamiliar to me in real life. We talk about random stuff and then hug. She then asks me to wait outside her room. Almost as soon as I close the doors, the windows smash in, in whatever room or part of the house I'm in at the time and water begins to flood the house. I often end up outside all of a sudden and am struggling to save whatever people (known to me or strangers) or sometimes pets too (known to me or random animals too) are around me. Every time I swim as fast as I can towards them, there's an invisible force that pulls them and I apart and they often end up looking as though they drown or maybe they just sink and disappear.
It's weird because at the end, I often am back inside the house somehow, as if nothing had happened. And I run into my mum's room to find she's there, I willfully embrace her and ask if she's okay. Sometimes the dream starts again and sometimes this is when I wake up.
The whole dream always has this eerie vibe to it, and I somehow know in the dream that my mum isn't my mum, she's a creature that has it out for me and is behind the flooding/drownings.

Hi everyone, first post ever and I need some advice/questions answered. Apologies if this post does not meet certain etiquette or if it is formatted strangely.
I rent a room in a house from a rental agency along with 6 other people. None of us knew each other prior to moving in, as the agency handles all of the roommate “hiring,” so to speak. Our leases are quite simple, and many changes have been made without tenant input without modifying leases, including how added bills such as electricity and trash are handled. But that’s not the real issue.
My current problem with this company is that, two weeks ago, I came home from a brief vacation to find that they had replaced our doorbell with one of the camera doorbells, yet I had not been informed or given any links to access said doorbell. The doorbell would ring throughout the house just as the old one did, but it seemed like the camera didn’t work, as the power button was flashing red constantly for the past two weeks. Today, unprompted at 11 a.m., workers entered our house to install a wifi extender to connect the doorbell to. This made me finally contact the company, and they told me this verbatim: “The usage of the camera will assist for any missing/stolen packages, confirmation of vendors attending the property as well as in case a roommate needs assistance,” and confirmed that none of us would have any access to the camera program.
This implies to me that they are capable of storing video information to access at a later point, and most of these things send out a notification to the program when the doorbell is rung. They did not confirm or deny that they would receive notifications, so I assume that any time the doorbell rings for food deliveries, packages, etc., they would receive one. Additionally, it seems as though they would be able to access any point in time and surveil it regardless of whether or not the camera has been “activated” due to a doorbell ring, such as in the case of a stolen package.
However, as this was done without any roommate’s consent, and without an amendment to anyone’s lease, I do not think any of this is legal. I especially do not want this company to know how often packages are received, the faces of any visitors or guests we may have over, makes and models of cars, etc. Is there anything that can be done about this? Is it legal?

Over a decade ago, I was in grad school out of state and suffered a family tragedy. I should have left, but I was far from home, and my parents and I had put a lot of money into this venture. Anyway, I more or less flunked out (C average) ultimately and moved back closer to home.
I’ve now been in an office job for 8 years and received a small promotion along the way, but there is no possibility of further promotion, and I don’t enjoy the work.
Now I’ve decided to go back to school for a masters in a different field (library science). Do I need to list my previous stint in grad school on my resume and provide a transcript? The program only requires that I have a bachelors degree, so I’m worried that the grad school transcript would hurt my chances of getting in, and I’d rather leave it off. In the past when I’ve interviewed for jobs, I’ve explained why I left grad school, but the app I’m working on now doesn’t have a good place for me to explain this (i.e., no personal statement), and I’m worried I could get weeded out by software.
TLDR: Do I need to include a past failed attempt at grad school on new grad school applications (10+ years later and in a different field)?

recently bought an Acer Predator Orion 3000 PO3-640 (I7 & 3060 TI). The first one I received had this electrical clicking noise out the box and it seemed to be coming from where the cable plugs in. As it was new, I sent it back and got a replacement. This one didn’t have the issue immediately but now , 2 months later it has the same problem. I have tried multiple power cables and still the same issue. The noise happens even when the PC isn’t turned on, as long as it’s connected to power it makes the noise.
My question is, is it a problem? PC seems to run fine regardless and when it’s running you can’t hear it.
Any help or advice would be great!

Context: someone on reddit once told me that LSD has this "ego reaffirming" effect. I asked him what he means by that because it's "a concept" I once thought about (I'll explain it later), and he said:
"In my experience if I want to reinforce things I believe about the world or increase my level of self centeredness I would use acid. If I want to change my mind about things and make me less self centered I'd use mushrooms.
Another thing I've noticed is on the come down of acid I'm very self critical while on mushrooms I'm more at peace. Idk if any of that is related though."
And then I replied this but he didn't reply back (probably bc it was too much lmao) so I hope you guys could help me with this 🌝:
I started doing psychedelics from the documentary "How to change your mind" (all about psychedelic therapy) so I was planning –self– treating the PTSD and OCD I've had since childhood since I had no means to find a better clinical approach or with actual psychedelic therapists. So as I didn't find shrooms or acid in my area, I started off with MDMA, integration; daily meditation, journaling and some background on psychology I have.
I literally cured my PTSD. It literally happened. My whole nervous system doesn't remember anymore ever being abused and I don't react to my triggers anymore. But my OCD got incredibly worse. And my theory was MDMA strengthened my ego which a the moment was essential for treating my PTSD, but there's some mental illnesses such as OCD or eating disorders I believe are tightly related to egoistic beliefs, the ego in general, a damaged ego. So now I basically wanted to kill it or dissolve it.
I didn't ever share this with anyone or found anything related on the internet. Then I finally found shrooms, altered my whole life and changed my perspective on EVERYTHING. Cured my OCD. I feel free today more than ever of any kind of pain, past wounds, anxiety or weird fixations. But now... I don't know what to do with my life in any sense. I doubt what I like, interests and passions, I feel more connected to myself than ever, but less connected with the stuff I used to relate with me, including dreams, goals, even music taste, my artistic taste in general, as if all my life was a lie, but I remember genuinely enjoying all this stuff, and didn't copy this "personality" from anyone I was even considered weird among my peers for my artistic taste and hobbies. They lost a lot of sense if not all and although it doesn't feel scary I don't want to feel this way. Now I want to go live my life as I never did before bc of my past mental state. I want my ambitions back (I used to have good ones where I am really skilled) because yeah I need to feed myself, I'm only 23, now I still like a bunch of different stuff but everything means and feels so ambiguous and "not me". So, I was thinking based on everything I've read "maybe acid can help me with this" to redifine my paths, identify, and passions...
And this "ego reaffirming" logic really makes me believe it could work idk, I feel that "I don't care about my success" more than what I'd like, I need to make strong plans and take strong decisions real soon and I'm like "whatever" and I don't like it... it's been 1 month since I took that heroic dose of shrooms and this doesn't go away. As if I lost my identity. What are your thoughts now based on this context?

I was in a car accident where I hit a pedestrian. It was at night and raining pretty hard and I didn’t see him at all because he was wearing all black. I stopped and rendered first aid until the paramedics arrived. They initially said he had a concussion and he was bleeding from his head, but he was able to walk around and talk just fine. He wouldn’t answer any questions and kept saying he needed to go home.
I was issued a citation for failing to yield to a pedestrian, I was going to fight it but I had to go out of country for business and was unable to make the court date. So I just paid the ticket.
My insurance updated me that he had brain bleed and a broken clavicle and is in critical condition. Now they sent me an Affidavit from guy’s counsel that has me declaring that
I was not performing an employment related task at the time of the accident
Which I wasn’t, I was driving home from work.
I was not acting on behalf of any other person or entity at the time of the accident
I wasn’t
I do not have any other liability policies that provide coverage for damages resulting from this accident
I don’t
I really hope the guy gets better. I don’t know what to do, does signing this Affidavit mean I’m going to get sued?

Hi! I am a social media manager for multiple pages, mostly stand up comedians. They're all older people who don't fully understand how to do things so I basically handle everything for them online. My pages are all able to monetize from ads on reels & for reels bonus. So far I have only put in tax info for one page, the most successful one.
My issue is, when I go to the payout settings for any page, it shows the payout info for the first page I set up. That persons Bank, tax info, and payout account info. My personal account is listed on the bottom as an account admin but I am not listed as the account owner for any of them.
My concern is that all of the payouts from each account could be going to one owners statement and not each individual person getting their own. Am I reading this wrong and/or did I set something up wrong? Is this because I've yet to fill out the info for every other page? Why would it display page A's stuff on everyones, or is it just because I am an admin on all of them and logged into my personal account also?
