2023.03.25 02:04 SafyrJL Nightmare Insurance Claim

Hello personalfinance,

I also posted this to insurance, but wanted the advice of you all, as I think you can offer some knowledge on how to proceed through my very stressful insurance claim (that is costing me a fair amount of $$$).
To provide some backstory, I submitted a claim for an attempted theft on my 2013 Hyundai Accent in early January of 2023.
While the thief did not get away with my vehicle, they got their bodily fluids over nearly every area on the inside of my car. Blood and other substances were found soaked into the seats of the vehicle, headliner, and nearly every other panel in the vehicle interior. Furthermore, beyond the crippling ignition damage and smashed window that was caused, they left their used drug paraphernalia strewn about my vehicle and the odor from the substances was absolutely horrifying. In short, the vehicle was completely unfit for human occupancy (even in small instances) and was a biohazard. I quickly contacted my insurance company (Amica) about this issue after filing a police report and they stated it would be several days before an assessor could look at my vehicle. The vehicle sat unsecured and completely trashed in the parking lot of my apartment complex during this time.
For reference, the vehicle (pre-claim) was not in amazing shape. It has fading paint all over, cosmetic damage to the exterior, and was well used with over 130,000 miles on the odometer. The Kelly Blue Book value of this car in perfect condition is approximately $4,000; my vehicle is nowhere near that state and worth far less. Upon assessment, despite my insistance that the vehicle should be totaled, the assessor estimated the total cost of repairs in the realm of ~$1,200 dollars to remove all biohazards, replace the rear passenger window, and repair the steering column along with some other damages. To give you an idea of how far they went to avoid totaling my destroyed Hyundai, they quoted a rear-window replacement at $25.00 from a junkyard in a city that is over 150 miles from where I live. In what world does it cost only $25.00 to acquire a piece of glass and transport it 150+ miles and then install it? This exact process was completed for all listed repair items.
I was able to get my vehicle into a shop the week after the assessment. However, fast forward nearly three months later and my car has yet to be repaired. Meanwhile, I have had to pay out of pocket for a rental car and had to go out and purchase a new vehicle to stay financially solvent during this process (because rental cars are really, really expensive). Amica did set me up with a rental car, however, another issue was encountered here. I pay for $1200 dollars of rental reimbursement on my policy. My total rental bill was $1145 dollars. Amica opted to only pay $960 of it due to “length of rental” (their words, not mine). In addition to the cost of having to procure a new vehicle, I also still am making payments on the damaged vehicle that I cannot drive and do not possess because it is parked at a shop (along with the monthly cost of insurance – which is not cheap in Washington State). Amica has not reached out to me more than two times since this claim was opened to help get me through this.
What is my best course of action from here? My mom seems to think that I should be very aggressive with the insurance company on the phone, however, I am not so sure that being rude to someone I have never met will solve anything. Any advice or insight on this situation would be greatly appreciated!
tl;dr: My Hyundai got broken into and completely destroyed inside. Insurance company refused to total my vehicle and has offered little to no support in the past three months. Car still not repaired.

Hello Insurance,
I am in the middle of a very stressful insurance claim and could use some insight on how to proceed from here.

2023.03.25 01:17 fibrepirate NP visit today... good and bad...

Okay, so I generally don't like NPs, but this one was getting brownie points left right and centre. She made connections with me and each one was good. Both from Ontario, both immigrants with Californian husbands, both of us missing our home country, both of us geeky nerdy women who love Grogu, and more brownie points, including "go ahead and use your Canadian glucometre if it makes you comfortable. We'll cope with the math."
For the uninitiated, Canadian to American numbers is a factor of 18. There's lots of charts out there for you to find if you need the numbers converted. Canadian numbers are multiplied by 18. American numbers are divided by 18.
Anyway... she groked why metformin would be bad for me - it would put me in a super long hyperglycemic event which could be fatal. I had told her what happened and how it affected my driving as a professional courier before I came to the US. She went through the list of what to do about my medicine and dietary protocol. She decided she wanted me on X or Y injectable (you know what those are) but because of the shortages, she wasn't sure I could get them.
But, after listing off a dozen or more medicines, in pill form or injectable, she, and I (and yes, my husband) came to the conclusion that Soliqua is what I will be going on, starting tomorrow. Farxiga will be cut to half the dose it currently is at, and I start at the lowest dose of Soliqua, 5 clicks, upping it by two clicks every few days as my body adjusts and stabilizes.
Because of insurance issues, my husband is looking up manufacturer's coupons, but since this is the same medicine he's on and he's had his dose lowered, we're doing the "don't ask don't tell" of him giving me one of his unused pens until we get my script figured out and to see if it works with me. One of his pens should last me most of the month.
I don't know how I feel about this. I knew I should be on insulin years ago, but covid happened and I couldn't get back to that endo so that now that I'm finally going on it, will it even help? That's the bad part.
Oi vey...
Honestly, she was the first medical professional in years I felt listened to instead of dictated to, patronized and gaslit about my medical issues and needs.

2023.03.25 01:08 mr-unsmiley ~$1000 mini-itx upgrade for new fighting games?

Intended Use
Everyday web browsing, light video editing (mostly just cutting and making clips from games) and gaming.
Performance
I'd like it to sit squarely above a PS5 (or at least the CPU and mobo enough to with future GPU upgrades) but my biggest priority is playing the newest fighting games like Street Fighter 6 or Tekken 8 at 1080p at a constant 60fps at highest settings while screen recording. Maybe some room for the same at 1440p, but that's much less important.
Budget
Maximum of $1000, hoping to stay closer to $800 by reusing power supply and case. Willing to cut out NVME SSD and have lower RAM for a future upgrade to stay under budget if needed as well. I do not need to buy an OS.
Purchasing in the US.
Potential build here
No specific GPU or heatsink chosen, I'm considering an RTX 3060/Ti, 3070 or RTX 6600/XT

Provide any additional details you wish below.
I would really like it to be mini-itx and intel CPU, with a fan under 125mm that flows with the air parallel to the motherboard (like the one in my current build). I'd also like a GPU that isn't gigantic, less than 260 mm. I'd like it to stay on and running pretty much 24/7.
This is my previous build, made in 2015. It's been serving me well to this day for all the purposes listed, but gets loud when playing anything 3D and fancy and also can't play newer stuff.
Thank you!

2023.03.24 23:42 orangeybigapple I am 27 years old, make $80,000 working as a Social Media Producer in NYC and this week was my birthday!

Assets and Debt

Retirement Balance: $36,428 in a Roth IRA, $4,571 in an individual brokerage account, and $19,960 in a 401k. Right now I contribute 6% because my company’s match policy maxes out at 3%. I’ve always contributed this much regardless of my salary progression to max out my company’s policy. I’ve been at the same company for the entirety of my salaried career so this is all of it too!
I go to my Dad for pretty much everything money-related. I’m very lucky to have a father who opened up a Roth IRA for me at 22 and practically forced me to open up my own brokerage account a little before I turned 26. Right now I contribute $250 a month to my Roth and $250 to the S&P 500 at the end of every month. This is an automatic payment out of my bank account so I always leave enough in my checking account for this to avoid a late fee. My dad is huge on maxing out a Roth IRA so my parents match the other $3,000 each year. I would have significantly less in my Roth IRA without this and I’m extremely grateful. Apart from this and my phone bill I’m financially independent and would love to make a little more money soon so I can max out my Roth IRA on my own. (It’d really be ideal if I stayed on my parents' family plan for my phone though haha.)
As mentioned before, I really didn’t want to open up a brokerage account at first because I was (and still am) extremely intimidated by the whole process. Eventually I gave in and we settled on an automatic payment to the S&P 500 so I really don’t have to think about things. As usual, my dad was right and I’m really proud of that $4,571 since opening it up. I contribute the same amount regardless of how well the market is doing too to make it easier. I also do not touch this money ever because my spending habits can be all over the place (I’m working on it!)
Savings Account Balance: $1,580 in emergency savings
At the height of the pandemic this was up to $10k. I paid NYC rent while living with my parents until my lease ended and then kept living between my house or my BF’s to save as much as possible. Living at home really messed with my relationship with my parents (and my independence honestly) so I scrambled back to NYC in June of 2021 and furnished this apartment with the majority of my emergency savings. My boyfriend lives with me now but he didn’t then, so this felt AWESOME knowing I did it by myself. I’d ideally love for this number to be much higher so I’m working on it. It’s admittedly been hard because of my spending habits.
Checking Account Balance: $551.63
As mentioned above, I contribute $500 at the end of every month so I like to keep that amount in my checking account. I put all expenses on my credit cards and only pay rent and utilities directly from this account at the end of the month when I get paid.
Credit Card Debt: $0

Income

Income Progression: I started as a “mommy’s helper” when I was 12 years old for some families on my street and quickly became the resident babysitter on the block as I got older. This was great money in high school in addition to my jobs! Through high school and college I worked as a cashier at a bakery, a receptionist at a hair salon, a day-camp counselor, an associate at Skechers (this was easily my favorite because 3 of my best friends worked there at the same time), a wedding videographer, and the front desk of a camera equipment facility at my college.
I’ve been working in social media (with a focus on video production/editing) for 6 years, two years of which were internships. I’ve been at my current job for just shy of 4 years now at an advertising agency in NYC. I graduated college in 2018 with a 6-month fellowship at a pretty big news website as a video producer making $22/hour. I was one of about 50 interns (15 of which were also part of my graduating class). The job description was identical to that of an Associate Video Producer and the only difference was the pay. I remember being devastated when I wasn’t offered a salary of $50,000 like some of the people in my intern class.
For the next 6 months I was living the unemployed life. This was a super dark time in my life and I remember feeling so worthless. The amount of unanswered applications really got to me and I really wanted someone to just give me a chance. During this time I made due by walking and watching more dogs than I can count (S.O. Rover and Wag!) and wrote a ton of freelance articles. Fun fact, I only heard back from companies during my employment that I had connections at. (I was ghosted or immediately rejected from every other company I applied to. Connections. Are. Everything.)
Finally, I was hired as a Video Editor working on a TV network account. My starting salary was $60,000 which I was super happy about at the time so I didn’t even bother negotiating (huge mistake!) I only made this salary for about 9 months before the pandemic hit and I was partially furloughed. My salary was cut by 20% for the next 6 months. Making $48,000 obviously wasn’t fun but I was living at home at the time and my only real expense was the rent I was still paying in NYC so I was still able to save a good amount at this time. I also got Fridays off because of this and it was a DREAM!!! I’ve never been more productive honestly so I’m a hugeeee fan of the four-day work week trend going around right now. Right around my 2-year anniversary I got Wa 15% raise to $69,000. 11 months after that I was promoted to Social Media Producer and my current salary of $80,040.
Monthly Take Home: $4,413.40

Expenses

Rent: $1100 (my boyfriend and I currently share a lofted studio for $2200/month)
I’ve been in my current apartment for just shy of 2 years now which is a big deal considering I left every apartment prior to this after my 1 year lease ended! Our current lease is up in September and we’re DYING for more space.. I’m really nervous considering the housing market in New York so TBD on how that’s gonna go.
Electric: $35ish in the winter (my share). My share of the bill can go up to $115 or so over the summer which is brutal.
Subscriptions:
Gym: $92
Apple Music: $10.99
Pet insurance (my share): $24.40
Wifi: $54.99 (I cover Wifi in full and my boyfriend covers Youtube TV for us)
Debt Payments: I’m very lucky that I have $0 debt after school.
Parental Help: Phone plan, Streaming services (Amazon Prime, Netflix, HBOMax, etc. and their Roth IRA match for me every year).

Diary

Day 1:
9:15am: I roll out of bed (I’ve been working on going to bed and waking up earlier and am failing). Since it’s Friday I order pick up from the Starbucks down the street and pick up H and my usual orders. I’ve been known to get into funks where I order Starbucks every day for H and I. Right now I only allow myself Friday Starbucks to combat this. I pre-load my card in $25 increments so technically this order was free.
9:30am: I’m back and ready to start my work day. I anticipate a pretty quiet work day today and since it’s my birthday this weekend I really want a haircut. I found an amazing place in Chinatown months ago that I want to go back to because I’m not trying to spend a ton of money. I call and make an appointment for 5pm
4:30pm: I leave my apartment and get ready to catch the Subway to Chinatown. $2.75
5:40pm: I chopped a few inches off and my hair hasn’t been this short since I graduated college. I’m especially obsessed with my hair because of the price. $51.60 with tip!
5:45pm: I make it to the subway and get ready to go home. $2.75
6:15pm: I make it home and greet my dog and get him dinner. As I’m going through my closet and trying to figure out what to wear for my birthday celebration tomorrow, I get a FaceTime from one of my friends from home. She made it to the city (she’s staying at a mutual friend's place) and is wondering if I want to grab dinner and drinks with them. I accept and start to get ready.
H has been out all day watching March Madness games with his friends so I make sure to give our puppy some extra treats and love while I’m home. After a long shower I throw on my coat and get ready to meet my friends for dinner.
7:15pm: I make it down to the Q with 1 minute to spare before the next downtown train. Always a win! $2.75
7:45pm: I greet my two friends L and P and we immediately start discussing what we’re craving for dinner. We eventually settled on a Mexican place just a short walk away. We get large specialty margaritas, an order of guac and chips, and three orders of enchiladas. It honestly was not the best dinner considering we didn’t get our drink orders until we were halfway through our entrees. Upon getting the bill, we noticed that the restaurant charged a 20% tip with our orders so we split the bill evenly three ways! $76
After dinner we make our way back to P’s apartment. After a couple more hours of catching up I decided to call an Uber home. $22.91
Daily total: $135.85
Day 2:
9:30am: I wake up and am already so excited for the night ahead. (That’s my excuse because I decided to break my Starbucks rule right after I wake up). This time I do have to reload my card. $25.00
9:45am: I make a quick trip to the grocery store for some breakfast supplies for H and I. I’m cooking today! $15.78
Our dinner reservation isn’t until 8pm and I have no plans before then so I lounged for most of the day. At one point H and I decided to take our dog to the dog park for an hour before starting to get ready for the night ahead.
H picks up the car to the restaurant. We went to a pizza place that makes pizzas up to 10 feet long and it was such a fun night. One of my best girlfriends and I share a birthday three days apart so we decided to celebrate together this year. The final bill is $1402.20 and I am happy to put my Amex down for the 4x credit card points. (Fun fact: I have not paid for a flight out of pocket in two years since having this card. I love it!) People will be paying me back though, so my share is only $78.
We spent the rest of the night bar hopping and ringing in my birthday at midnight. It was honestly such a great night. When we were finally done dancing and ready to turn in, H and I caught a cab with one of my best friends and her boyfriend since we live close. H picked up the tab as well as my drinks throughout the course of the night so it was technically free!
2:20am: We arrive home and start getting ready for bed. I start chugging water hoping I’m not hungover on my birthday. (I swear my hangovers get worse every year).
Daily total: $118.78
Day 3:
10:30am: My steady water intake from the night before definitely helped because I woke up not hungover! I spent the morning cuddling up to H and my puppy on the couch while I answered several “Happy Birthday” phone calls from my family members. I seriously have the best family in the world and I’m so grateful for my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins that still take the time to this day to make the day feel special!
12:00pm: Five of my friends from home show up at my apartment because we’re planning to all go to a birthday brunch together before they catch their trains home. We settle on a fun diner and H joins us! Since it’s my birthday, my friends and H all split my meal for me so it was free.
2:00pm: My friends grab their bags from my apartment and we start to say our goodbyes. I’m so happy they were all able to come in for the weekend to celebrate!
4:00pm: Since I’m not as full from lunch anymore I decide it’s time for my birthday Starbucks. I always try to order something expensive since it’s free!
7:00pm: After a nap and some lounging on the couch, H asks me what I want for dinner. I settle on sushi and H ordered UberEats for us.
The rest of my birthday consisted of watching Netflix, taking a 30 minute shower and doing a face mask before crawling into bed. It was truly such a nice and relaxing birthday after the night before. 10/10.
Daily Total: $0
Day 4:
8:30am: It’s Monday and it feels very much like it because it’s pouring outside. I spent much of the day working from my couch instead of my desk because it felt right.
12:30pm: H stays home on Mondays too and neither of us feel like making lunch. I venture out and buy us some Sweetgreen for lunch. $28.69
2:00pm: Today is an extremely slow day at work so I decided to subway to my friend's apartment to pick up some of the leftover pizza from Saturday night earlier than planned to avoid rush hour. I want this pizza to be our dinner tonight so I can avoid cooking again. $2.75
3:00pm: After some catching up with my friend I returned to the subway with pizza in tow! $2.75
3:30pm: On my way home I stop by the local smoke shop and see my friend Mary Jane. Since she’s legal now in New York I’m seeing her more often. $135.20
4:30pm: I’m going to a friend’s Bachelorette next month and one of her bridesmaids just sent the itinerary for the weekend ahead. She asked us to Venmo her for a couple of the activities ahead of time. This is going to be my first Bachelorette I’m attending so I don’t have much to compare to, but this entire process has been so organized in my opinion and the bridesmaids have done a great job at keeping it as affordable as possible. $70.62
7:30pm: I finish out the rest of my workday and heat up some of the leftover pizza from Saturday in the airfryer for H and I. I love enjoying my Monday nights watching the Bachelor with a glass of wine in hand, so I pick up a bottle of wine from a shop right off the subway. $16.32
After a couple glasses of wine and “the most dramatic episode ever of the Bachelor” H and I start getting ready for bed.
Daily total: $256.33
Day 5:
8:30am: I roll out of bed and start getting ready for my workday. I had to shoot a couple pieces of content this day so I didn’t spend much of the day sitting down which was really nice. I currently work on a couple food brands’ social media content doing anything from food styling, food photography, video content, etc. It’s a lot of fun and definitely allows me to tap into my creative side.
12:30pm: Since I worked through my lunch while eating more leftover pizza, I decided to get a gel manicure during my lunch break. This is a habit I picked up after my last promotion and I don’t regret it. I’m really trying to prioritize self care the more I get older. $46.59 with tip
5:30pm: I finish out the rest of my work day and start to get ready for some dinner plans with a friend who couldn’t make it Saturday night.
7:00pm: I say goodbye to H and my puppy and catch the train downtown to dinner. $2.75
10:30pm: My friend and I spent hours at this restaurant gossiping and ended up being the last two people there! Oops! It was a cute little Indian restaurant and reasonably priced considering the amount of food we ordered. We split the bill down the middle. $69.44
11:00pm: I arrive home after getting myself a cab home instead of taking the subway. I had a bad experience not too long ago and I like to avoid going late at night if possible. I know it’s not the best financial habit but tonight I feel anxious. $22.20
Daily total: $140.98
Day 6:
9:30am: I totally stayed up way too late scrolling on TikTok last night after dinner so I sleep in super late this morning. Thankfully today is just a meeting day for me so I settle in at my desk and try to imagine my Keurig coffee is Starbucks instead.
12:30pm: H had to stay home today from work because of an arrest warrant that went wrong on the street of his office building (scary!) I have a buy-one get one free deal at Chipotle that’s going to expire soon so I offer to buy us lunch. $17.42
Tonight H and I have dinner plans with one of his best friends and his girlfriend P. P and I also have birthdays just a couple days apart so the four of us decided to celebrate together.
5:30pm: I stop working and start getting ready for our 8pm reservation. We’re going to Il Mulino which is one of our favorites but definitely more of a special occasion restaurant due to the prices.
7:30pm: H wants to take a taxi to dinner so he offers to pay. We get to Il Mulino just in time for our reservation and had such a great night. After a few hours we notice that we’re the last table at the restaurant and H makes a joke that I did this the night before too. (I promise this is not a typical thing for me haha). H splits the tab with P’s boyfriend.
10:45pm: I order H and I an Uber home and we call it a night pretty much immediately. $17.16
Daily total: $34.58
Day 7:
8:30am: Another day of meetings for me. I have a couple of client meetings where I have to present some of the content I’ve made in the last couple of weeks that all went well.
12:30pm: H stayed home again today because we’re planning to visit his family this weekend and we need to pack. I’m really jealous because H has leftovers from our dinner but I don’t so I have to go out and buy lunch. I buy myself some chili and a piece of bread from a place near our apartment. $10.89
6:00pm: I polish off the rest of the day by brainstorming a couple more concepts for the month ahead with my Social Media Manager. Around 6:30pm H’s dad picks us up (he drives to Manhattan every day) and we start driving home to H’s family’s house. Although we always run into traffic, H and I like doing this because it’s easy with our puppy and we avoid paying for a train.
8:00pm: H’s dad picked up a pizza on the way home for all of us to enjoy and we’re starving by the time we get back to the house. After dinner we caught up with H’s brother and watched some Netflix before going to bed.
Daily Total: $10.89
Weekly Total: $697.41
Reflections: This was definitely an expensive week for me but I do identify as a messy spender for a reason. I don’t typically go out to eat as much as I did this week but it was my birthday and I definitely celebrated! (If this were my weekly total every week I wouldn’t be able to keep my credit card debt at $0 so do keep that in mind). I’ve been working on saying no more to things if I don’t think they’re worth the money and my friends and I tend to cook in our apartments together more than going out anyways but it certainly is interesting seeing how much money I can waste by cutting corners like subways and cooking lunch/dinner. As I mentioned in the Assets and Debt section I don’t touch any of my investments for a reason because the amount of money I spend month to month can be drastically different. Here’s to a much more frugal next week of spending!

2023.03.24 22:16 WhyAmISuchAWeeb Desktop will only boot to Windows 10 safe mode and motherboard won’t detect drives

Description: I recently decided to upgrade my desktop computer but I am having technical issues. As the title says either the computer will only boot to what looks like Windows 10 safe mode or the motherboard will not detect a bootable drive. I have tested this with 2 working drives: the previous M.2 SSD that was in this machine and a working SSD from a spare laptop. When in the BIOS (MSI) I can locate the drives (including my spare drive for storage) in the settings but not for selecting a drive to boot from. The motherboard also has its debugging light on unless it boots to safe mode.

2023.03.24 22:03 Key-Piece-3206 Sports Betting Sign-Up Bonus Guide

Originally posted in lunchmoney

Background

This is a method that goes over how you can make $5,000 - $10,000 risk-free by signing up for new user bonuses with various regulated sportsbooks (earnings depend on your location). Because I am in Canada, I will cover the Ontario market, but if you live in other regulated areas you can still use 99% of this guide to learn how to make money on sportsbooks. I made another guide on Sports Betting Arbitrage here, where I show you have you can make $500 per day, risk-free. I have personally made over $25,000 from sports betting and will answer any questions you have in the comments!

Basics of Sports Betting

Here are some common sign-up bonuses, terms and conditions (T&Cs), and sports betting lingo:
Different Sign-Up Bonuses:
Common T&Cs:
*These are just a few confusing T&Cs. You must read the T&Cs of each promotion to ensure that you understand what the bonus entails because that could change your strategy to maximize each bonus!
Common Sports Betting Lingo:

Maximizing Winnings on Each Sportsbook

⭐⭐⭐ 888Sport - 100% First Deposit Match (up to $250) - Stake Not Returned
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bet365 - Bet $1 and Get $250 in Bet Credits - Stake Not Returned & Flex

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sports Interaction - 100% Matched Bonus on First Deposit (up to $1,000) – Stake Not Returned & Flex
⭐⭐⭐ Unibet - 2nd Chance Bet (up to $200) – with Stake Takeback
---
Summary: Summing all of these guaranteed profits up, you can get $6,437.50 by completing all of these sign-up bonuses! Many of these same sportsbooks also offer promotions for active users that you can use as well (reload bonuses, boosted odds, refer-a-friend promos, etc.) so you can continue making money once you have done the sign-up promotion.

Finding Odds

How the Previous Section Assumes that Odds Work: If the Lakers play the Warriors and the Warriors moneyline is +100 on Fanduel, and since the Warriors will win 50% of the time (based on those odds) then the Lakers will also win 50% of the time. Because of this, based on expected payoffs, we assume Fanduel will have the Lakers moneyline at +100.
How Odds Actually Work: Fanduel obviously wants to make money, so if they put the Warriors at +100, they will put the Lakers at -150 to give Fanduel a nice chunk called a spread. This is inevitable in the sports betting industry because sportsbooks need to make money. Assuming the spreads are 20% (which is like a tax on each bet), instead of making the original $6,437.50 from the sign-up bonuses, you will only make $5,150.00, meaning you would lose $1,287.50 if you took that 20% spread!
How can we Save the 20% Tax: Software! Odds change every second of the day and after months of searching for odds manually, a very inefficient and time-consuming task, I finally found a tool called OddsJam. OddsJam screens millions of odds per second on hundreds of sportsbooks, including all the sportsbooks I’ve mentioned above. Using the OddsJam platform has saved me thousands of dollars and is the reason I was able to make so much off sign-up bonuses.
If you decide to start harvesting bonuses on sportsbooks, using OddsJam is a must and you can use my link and promo code “Firebet” at checkout for 25% lifetime discount (to ensure you get the discount, press on my link before signing up and enter the promo code at checkout)! Remember, this software can increase your earnings from the signup bonuses by $1,287.50💵❗You can make even more if you use the arbitrage tool, which I cover in a different guide (linked here).

Example of Doing a Sign-Up Bonus

Steps:
  1. Log into OddsJam and go to the Arbitrage Betting Tool (this tool comes with the industry plan)
  2. Once on the Arbitrage Betting tool, use the filters to find odds
  3. Find an opportunity on OddsJam and press the calculator to find how much to bet on each sportsbook
  4. Log into each sportsbook and place the bets!
  5. We have now completed part of our wagering requirements for Fanduel and Betano. We can repeat this process to harvest the sign-up bonus!
The Math Behind the Bets:

Why we Want to Lose our 1st Bet for "2nd Chance Bet" Offers

Why we Use Bet Credits on the Highest Possible Odds

Summary

Feel free to comment and ask questions below! Also, let me know if you want me to do any other betting guides!

During Q3/2022, the Company continued to enjoy the tailwinds from the marketing strategy revamp which commenced in August 2021 and remained on track for a continuous and gradual increase in advertising spend. Based on preliminary and unaudited financial results, the Company continued to build on the strength in demand and realized 2022 sales of $5.8 million, a 128% increase on a year-over-year ("YOY") basis. Advertising expenses increased 57% YOY during 2022 to $4.8 million. The Company achieved record monthly sales surpassing CAD$900,000 (up 124% YOY) in November 2022, despite facing inventory challenges during the last two quarters of the year. Advertising expenses increased 91% YOY in November 2022. The gross profit margin during 2022 was 60% versus 39% a year ago.
"We are incredibly proud of our team's resilience and determination to achieve its sales numbers, particularly during the crucial Q4 period, despite the supply challenges. Our success in this period underscores the team's commitment to our vision and further bolsters management's confidence in our ability to drive growth in a challenging and volatile market landscape," said Josh Bruni, CEO.
In addition, along with the Company's long-term strategy of disciplined geographic expansion, sales during 2022 continued to benefit from the launch of fulfillment centres in Australia and Europe in Q1 and Q2, respectively. Through reduced fulfillment time and cost, the new fulfillment centres had a net positive impact on sales in the respective regions. The Australian location helped open up the Oceania geography while the location in Poland, having a much smaller footprint, still added to the growth in sales by increasing the Company's exposure to the European market.
Additionally, in Q4 2022, the Company launched its latest product, the FLEX, which expands the Company's EMF modulation technology lineup, known as Lifetune. The FLEX is a versatile addition to the current range of 4 products, carefully positioned to bridge the gap between personal protection and area protection categories. The FLEX builds on the Company's existing technology and its design allows for flexibility, serving as both a personal and area protection solution by offering a larger field of protection while maintaining a smaller size, making it ideal for use as a wearable.
"We are thrilled to unveil the FLEX as a data-driven design that enhances the Lifetune lineup. The FLEX integrates our powerful C28S microprocessor into a compact and durable form factor. The FLEX meets our customers' demands for advanced EMF protection on the go and underscores our commitment to continuous expansion of revenue streams and revenue growth," said Chief Product Officer, Dimitry Serov.

2023.03.24 20:22 satanicpastorswife [RI] Viability of putting a coaster in an old industrial building?

So I'm a Rhode Islander, we don't have any coasters operating in this state, and if there is one thing about Rhodies I know it's that for RI natives 20 minutes is an absurdly long drive and they don't like to leave our tiny state, and so Six Flags New England might as well be on the moon for a lot of them. We have a lot of old unused industrial mill buildings, and I was thinking about how some of the problems with the viability of parks in the area is the short season, and affects of extreme temperature variation and salt air on ride maintenance and I thought, “hey, those old mills were designed to have giant vibrating deafeningly loud mechanical looms in em, maybe they could handle a small coaster and maybe a flat ride or two, or maybe a haunted house and I know the HP Lovecraft store might be looking for a new space" and so it might be the dumbest idea ever, but with the possibility of year round operation, the tourist draw of Lovecraft and the eternally rotating group of wealthy students from the prestigious colleges, could it work? I know I'd have to do a lot more research, but I have some capital and access to possible investors in the form of family friends.

2023.03.24 19:31 bootinski 18MBps over 10Gbps LAN

I have a server with dedicated 125GiB DDR3 RAM, 20 cores running TrueNAS Scale with 8 mumbles SMR WD 4TB drives in ZFS2 with a 256 GB Samsung 960 EVO as a log. PC and server are on a 10Gb network. Crystal Disk Mark SEQ128K Q32T1 scores 402.54 read 90.15 writes. I'm in the process of replacing the SMR WDs with CMR SAS3 drives these speeds are from my PC SSD to the server TrueNAS pool.
When I start a file transfer the speed jumps to 250-300MBps then if the transfer takes more than 30 seconds if drops to 25MBps then bottoms out around 18MBps.
Why are my speeds so slow and how can I improve them?

2023.03.24 19:08 WhyAmISuchAWeeb Desktop will only boot to Windows 10 safe mode or motherboard won’t detect drives

It took about fifteen minutes of running around town, a wailing Blair at my back, before we finally found a park with enough privacy to settle down. A part of my stomach was mildly concerned about my shopping cart of stolen loot, not so stealthily hidden behind a dumpster, but given I had made it back to the main road before the police even came into view, I was pretty sure I could just reclaim it. Besides, I had bigger things to worry about.
“I just–I just–I just wanna be able to do my things again,” Blair sniffled, voice dropping to hiccup filled gasps. “There were so many things I wanted to do in my life.”
“Things like what?” I asked, trying to keep my voice low.
“Like–like, I was gonna get my degree. I was gonna go into medicine. I was gonna help people.” Tears streaked down her face. “Joni knows.”
Joni sighed. “Girl, you were getting your CNA. Which is good and all, important and stuff, but keep your story straight. You weren’t going to med school.”
“My parents wanted me to go to med school.” Blair flopped on the grass, staring glumly at a parade of ants marching through her. “I just wanted to help people.”
We sat in an awkward silence, our eyes slowly drifting towards the ants traversing through Blair’s ghostly body while she sniffled. I wondered if they could here her.
Then, after a few minutes, a few very long minutes, she sat up. “Okay Sammi, I’ve decided. My kick-the-bucket list item is to help Cara.”
Joni’s eyebrows shot up, Christopher’s shot down, and mine stayed where they were but I kinda big eye oggled at her.
“Okay wait, that’s not the point of the kick-the-bucket list,” I said, waving my hands. “That’s not—the point was, like, ‘oh Sammi, you got us killed, now you have to help us do the things we always wanted to do’ and you were not lying around, hungover after parties, wishing you could help Cara.”
“No,” she agreed, sniffing. “But I wanna help people.”
“So let me, like, I don’t know, donate food to poor people or something.” Something easier. Something better than this. “I’ll go rob a supermarket or something.”
“Don’t wanna rob a supermaket. I wanna see this Cara thing full and done until everyone is happy and safe and satisfied.” Blair punctuated her sentence with a pleased smile, and I knew there was no getting around this. Or, at least, no getting around this unless I wanted to be a total dick to the friend I already killed.
“All right then,” I said, teeth grit. “Let’s… let’s help people. Let’s get Cara’s stuff fenced.”
Blair’s eyes melted into pools of ghostly goop. “Really?”
I felt kinda offended at her question. Like she was expecting me to go back on my promise of granting them kick-the-bucket list items. “Yeah. Really. Promise 100%.” I leaned back on my heels. “Nothing about this God thing says we can’t help people, so if that’s what you want, I don’t see why we can’t mix a little malicious good will into our schemes.”
“As long as we’re staying reasonable,” Joni said.
“And using our heads,” Christopher added.
“Yeah yeah.” I waved them away. “And having fun, obviously, cause the last thing I want is for this to be boring. We can make that all work out.”
Blair floated back up in the air, tears dried. “Okay then. So what’s the plan?”
~~~
The plan was a Sammi Special, which meant I came up with most of it and left enough wiggle room near the end in case things didn’t go well.
Step 1: Find Henry Miller.
This was hard. I actually had no idea where he lived. We checked some online sites, those sketchy, deep-web lookups, but they all required payment that I didn’t have. Can’t lie to a computer screen.
Step 1a: Head to Bridgeport, where his typical clientele lingered, and just ask questions until someone turned up something.
For that I needed a ride. I flagged down someone on the road by running at the first sports car I saw racing down mainstreet. The dude screeched his brakes on, asking what the fuck I thought I was doing and I asked him what he was doing in my car. And then I clearly said ‘you’re driving my car and I’ll call the police if you don’t give it back.’
And he did give it back. Cause I was a God and I could do that.
It was evil, but we were also gonna have to get used to a little evil. Besides, he could, like, file a missing car report and get car insurance, right? After a little getting lost, I finally found my semi abandoned shopping cart still in an alley and loaded up my goods. Then I headed towards Bridgeport.
Once there, we began harassing the milling throng of college kids. ‘Hey where can we find Henry Miller? Or, uh, rather, do you know when he’ll next be on campus? Haha, actually wait, start over. Do you even know who Henry Miller is?’
“You can’t just keep asking every fuckhead on campus whether they know where he is,” Joni said, after my eighth attempt. “I mean, first of all, introducing him as ‘that guy who sells stolen goods, but you can’t tell anyone’ will work for a few hours, but then it’s just gonna cause chaos. You can’t just give Henry a rep for being the school fence. Some people actually look really down on stolen shit.”
“They do?” I mean, I know people on tv and stuff are always fussing about hot goods, but did the average person really care? “I mean, it’s not like we’re stealing from randos on the street or anything–”
Blair sniffed at this. I ignored her.
“These are just from a Techshack. Who’s gonna miss them?” Still, Joni’s words echoed a bit in my head. This was a prep school. The kids here might care. “Okay, so I don’t go around introducing Henry as the Bridgeport fence. How am I supposed to find him?”
“Maybe start by just asking who knows him?” Joni’s skinny eyebrows were still sky high. I watched them inch higher, wondering if she’d ever be able to grow them back out after her disaster trip to the cheap salon that had just opened in town. Ghosts probably didn’t grow hair. “I mean, if they know him, they’ll know him. I bet there are some people in here who know him by name.”
“Though don’t ask too too many people,” Blair said. “He’ll freak out if he thinks someone’s gunning for him.”
“Think smart, not a lot.” Christopher tapped his head.
Ask people but not too many people. Use his name but nothing identifying about him. Think but not too much. Man, to think the old God did this shit for fucking centuries. Probably. She was dressed in a toga, so I’d kinda assumed, but I suppose she might have been newish to the God thing.
Still. That was a can of worms I’d probably never have time to unpack, so instead I went back to the task at hand.
If I had to reduce the amount of thoughts I put into this whole thing, the best thing I could probably do was think about who knew Henry. And if I had to use the smallest number of thoughts to find them, I’d think about what kind of person would use Henry’s resources. Yeah he could be selling phones, but a small school like Bridgeport only had so many needs for that. Plus phones were easy for the manufacturer to brick if you stole them. Not that I knew from experience or anything.
No, the average student probably had their basics tended to. So that meant Henry’s clientel was narrower. There were a few options.
-Frat bros outfitting their digs with the most up to date entertainment systems. Potentially but Henry would need to sling some pretty big stuff, speakers and tvs and shit. Not particularly covert.
-Tech nerds looking for the bleeding edge of science.
I stopped my mental list there because, again, reducing thoughts. That was a lead. So the next thought was, where do I find the tech nerds? In my experience, they stayed inside a lot, so that wasn’t super helpful. What might draw them out? Clubs maybe? Video game clubs or something like that? Gamers always likes their stupid rainbow keyboards and headsets with enormous earpads.
“Okay, do you suppose this place has a gaming club?” I asked out loud.
Joni’s eyebrows squinched over her eyes for a moment, before she nodded approvingly. “Smart.”
I flushed an embarrasing shade of prideful at this.
“Check your phone?” Christopher suggested. “You know, like, facebook or twitter or something, see if there’s some kinda, like, page for a Bridgeport Gaming club?”
A few taps later and some careful searching, and I had it. Not just the club (“guild”), but the names of the president, secretary, treasurer—
Treasurer. No doubt that would be the guy to buy all kinds of contraband to outfit his gamers guild thing.
And as luck would have it, the page even had the club office listed. I was on my way.
~~~
Step 1b: Coerce the gaming treasurer to give up the location of Henry Miller.
I cruised on up to the gamers guild office, using some simple, non troubling lies to squeeze past security and any card scanners. The door to the office was open, and as soon as I stepped in, I had an even better feeling about this whole thing.
“Office” wasn’t necessarily the best word for this place. It was more like a hangout spot. There were couches, the walls were decked with LEDs, there were two long desks with three computers on each other them. Sleek monitors, light up keyboards, mouses with way more buttons than probably need to be on a mouse.
Bridgeport was loaded, but lending this much money just so the gamers felt cool? This had stolen shit written all over it.
I opened my mouth to ask Joni and Christopher their opinions, but thought better of it. My airpods may have helped me reduce the odd stares I got from people in public, but there was only so much help they’d provide here if I opened my fat mouth and said “so what do you think? Look stolen to you?”
I didn’t need to anyway. Christopher was already all over the setups, oogling them, with Joni a half inch behind him, trying way harder to look unimpressed, even if I could see the way her eyes narrowed, darting over each piece of equipment.
Nerds.
“Uh, can we help you?”
I looked up to find a surprisingly ordinary girl standing in front of me. She’d been lounging on one of the couches when I came in, talking to some of the other kids in the room, but had stood up when I entered.
Powder blue hoodie, jeans, blond hair in a ponytail, hipster glasses, really ordinary. I kinda expected someone weirder.
“Uh yeah. I’m looking for Henry Miller.”
Well done, fat mouth. At least I’d managed to keep it closed long enough to not look like I had schizophrenia, but that was kinda a meatheaded way to start this conversation.
The girl looked behind her, at the other two students. One, a heavyset guy with tired eyes just kinda shrugged. The other, a surprisingly tiny young man, swallowed hard before shaking his head quickly.
Damn. Not a lot of luck here.
“Ah.” I shifted my weight a bit, foot to foot. Could they tell I was too old for college? Could they tell I didn’t go here? “Well, uh, do you know anyone who might know him? Maybe he’s on your roster?”
“Uh.” The blond girl looked back at the heavier guy. “Tito, he sound familiar to you?”
“He doesn’t even go here, does he?” squeaked the smaller dude. “So, probably not.”
Shoot. Pipsqueak was right.
“Right,” I said.
The room hung in another awkward silence.
“Do you even go here?” the blond girl asked.
“Yeah.” The little guy hopped to his feet. “I mean, who even told you to come up to our office and accost us about a guy who doesn’t even go to the school?”
Shoot. I was losing my edge here.
“Uh.”
“Hey hey, chill a little, Noah.” The blond waved a hand. “No one’s accosting anyone.’
“I think he’s lying.” Blair propped her head up on her hands, resting her elbows on Noah’s head. “Just seems a little too hostile about a simple question.”
Blair was right. In fact, she was super right. Everything from his hostility to his comment about Henry ‘not even going here’ when a half second before, he’d claimed not to know Henry at all.
“Yeah, chill, Noah.” I mimicked the blond’s hand waving motion. “Henry just asked me to stop by, talk to you about something. You want to hear this.” I cleared my throat before nodding my head out to the hall. “You want to hear this in private.”
The funniest thing about the whole Verity Tongue thing was how natural it always looked. No one had any magical dust flicker around their face, no one went deadpan, no ones’ eyes turned all swirly. They just acted like, duh, of course that’s what I’m supposed to be doing.
“Yeah yeah, all right.” He pulled his jacket on, one a bit dressier than the blond chick’s, though still in Bridgeport’s powder blue colors. “So long as this is quick. We’re going over budget stuff.”
Budget stuff? A smirk crawled across my face. This dude was definitely the Treasurer. I’d been right.
Little Noah followed me out of the room, twitchy and agitated the whole time, shifting like he maybe had to pee. Once we got outside, he let out a big breath.
“You can’t do that to me,” he said, words hissing through his teeth with enough venom to get a fleck of spit on me. “Not in front of Brandi and Tito like that. Do you know how much I gotta–” he dropped his voice even lower. “Do you know what kind of accounting magic I have to pull to justify where we get all our gear? Like school’s don’t just dish out for that tech, not even Bridgeport. I don’t need Brandi going out and talking about how this weird chick in oversized clothes and… are those bloodstains?” He cut off suddenly at this. “Wait, who are you? What happened to Miller?”
Did I still have bloodstains on me? Probably, right? I hadn’t really changed my clothes after all, not between the car accident or falling down the hill. There was nothing on my face directly, but I knew my sweater had them. I shoulda grabbed some clothes during our heist.
“Naw Henry’s fine,” I said. “And these aren’t blood stains. They’re, uh, mustard stains.”
He let out a breath. “Okay. Okay, you freaked me out for a sec.” The guy ran a hand through his mop of fluffy brown hair, immediately tangling his fingers in it. “Look, I just don’t want Brandi asking people who Henry Miller is and having someone say ‘oh isn’t he the guy that sells fucking stolen tech at the school?’”
I started to sweat.
“Not that anyone he actually deals to would just say that. I know I wouldn’t.” Noah took a steadying breath. “And no one else knows who he is, I guess.”
I could hear Joni berating me earlier, her words echoing in my head. “You can’t just give Henry a rep for being the school fence.”
“I know, I know, I’m getting worked up.” A pinched smile worked its way on his face. “It’s not like Miller’s got a reputation around the school for being a fence.
Now I felt like a real idiot. I wanted to apologize just for being stupid, but that wasn’t on list of steps to take for this scheme. Protecting Noah’s interests wasn’t important here. We just needed to get Cara off the hook.
“Right.” I nodded. “You’re right. Anyway, I need you to get in touch with Henry and tell him–” wait, no. I couldn’t leave it up to Noah to sell this or Henry would pretty easily be able to override my lies. “No, I need you to get me in touch with Henry.” Did Verity Tongue work over the phone? Maybe we should test it. “Actually, double nevermind. My phone is dead and I need to get in touch with Henry cause I’m you’re go between and I’ve managed to get my hands on that dope technology you two have been talking about for months.”
Boom.
Noah’s big eyes lit up like a little kid on Christmas, and I could see the waves of tension roll off his shoulders as he rubbed his hands together, all goblin-like. “Oh thank god. Yes yes yes, finally.” He ran a hand through his hair for a moment, before remembering my request. “Here’s my phone. When can we get all that in? We’ve got a tournament coming up and this shit is gonna be huge.”
I had no idea what Noah thought he was getting. I also didn’t have any idea what Cara was giving. But again, neither were my problem, so I just took the phone, which already had Henry Miller’s number in.
It rang a few times before Henry picked up.
“Hello?” a tired voice mumbled. Classic Henry.
“Hey Henry. You need to be at the bridge over Meadow Lane at 9 PM tonight for the big score you and Noah have been talking about for months.” I held my breath.
“The big what? The big… Noah… Noah from Bridgeport? At Mea…dow… Lande.” He sounded like he was being placed under a spell or something. I could hear the cogs in his head chewing up my sentence like someone had just dropped a toaster in a whole ass factory’s worth of gears. “The… right. The big score. Meadow Lane. Bridge. 9 PM. Yeah. Yeah okay. Okay yeah sure.”
I looked up at Blair, an eyebrow raised. Blair was busy whoosing through Noah’s head, back and forth, smiling at him as she blew wind directly through his skull. Not a lot of help. And Joni and Christopher were still somehow inside the office.
Okay. So I wouldn’t have them to rely on when debating internally as to whether my spell had worked.
“All right,” I said again, for good measure. “You have to be at the Meadow Lane bridge at 9 PM.” But the line had gone dead.
“Right,” Noah said. He let out a breath and rubbed his hands together, either a show of eagerness or just letting off some nervous energy. “Right. Okay, should be good.”
“Yeah,” I said. I nodded, letting a hopefully confident smile cross my face. “Okay good.”
“Aww, we gotta go now?” Blair asked, drifting away from Noah as he returned to the office. “I like these guys.”
I nodded, before dropping my voice. “Get the others out here. We got like, four hours before the meetup, and I need to get some clean clothes.”
Blair perked up at this. “You mean we’re going to the actual heist?”
“Sure.” Why not? What were we in such a rush to do? “May as well see this through, make sure they actually pull it off. We got a whole lot of time to waste, being immortal and all. If it works, we get to see the fruits of our labor. If it doesn’t, we learn something.” I felt pretty smart, presenting this win win, but honestly, I was just getting invested at this point. “What could go wrong?”
Sammi's feeling confident. Is that a good or a bad thing? Time will tell...

Weight Loss Progress/Questions (Pics included!)
Hi All,
Thought I'd share my progress :). Stats below. I made another post yesterday so I figured I'd just tie that into this thread and delete the other thread. Long story short I'm starting to feel a bit tired on week 7 of the diet. Based on my body type (pictures below), and current calories, does this seem to low for my body, given my stats.
For some odd reason I feel like being at 1,513 calories at 179.9 seems a bit low and I mentioned in the previous thread that I'm starting to feel fatigued a bit. My strength has gone up on all my lifts each week, but this week was really tough, and I struggled. I appreciate all the feedback! Also apologies for the redundancy. I recognize I have a high amount of body fat, and I can deal with that mentally, but a part of me is starting to wonder if I'm approaching this the wrong way and if I would benefit from a smaller cut and doing a re-comp as opposed to a full blown cut. Something feels off, and so I decided to post progress pics and data. My upper days consist of 7 exercises with usually 1-2 compounds in them and my lower tends to have squats or leg press as my major compound.
Lastly, I'm not sure if doing cardio for a skinny fat is beneficial as I feel like this is doing me more harm than good, due to reading about how prone skinny fats can be due to cortisol (could be wrong).
