So I ran a scav today on customs and found 2 armor kits, but my bag could only fit one. My pc crashes, I load back in. I see another player scav so I give him an armor kit, had a brain fart moment where I thought the other armor kit spawned somewhere it didn’t. Remembered where it spawned, go to grab it and it’s gone.
Alright, I didn’t really want to lug it out anyways (I have money and armor kits). Okay, let’s go push PMC’s fighting at crack-house, at the hole in the wall.
I see a dead Pmc, I steal a meta M4 gun and level 6 armor. A Pmc tries to shoot me over the wall on the jump up spot but he barrel stuffed the wall and all his shots miss. He pushes to the hole so I relocate and hold a cheeky angle on that hole barely being able to see through the edge of a bush. He instantly shoots me through the bushes at the wall, I fire back instinctively.
I lived, but I ain’t got no legs and my body is red all over! Level 6 armor saved me. Oh boy, I think this dude is a knower, he’s got the ESP. I proceed to talk shit to him for like 5 minutes about he’s hacking and how he sucks and how he disgust me. He tries to jump back up on the peak and I aim it, and he rotates left.
I keep telling him to come get me as I hide along the inside of the wall. I talk crap to him and ask him how he’s gonna let me heal and how he sucks. He rotates to the dumpster on the left of hole, an AI scav pushes him and dies. I use this time to walk in and listen. I hear him rounding the dumpster…..I prefire and headshot kill him.
He’s got several meta guns and a TacTec. Dude is level 17. There’s like 5 dead chads on the ground. I’m in the process of healing and a player scav runs up and aims at me. I voip, “Yo, I’m a scav.” He fires like 20 rounds at me as I walk left and right saying, “Brother, I’m a scav!” “You can calm down now I’m a scav.”
I don’t even return fire, and after him potatoing for about 10 seconds I die…
Just another raid in Tarkov, lol. It was fun though. 🤷♂️😂

2023.03.21 21:17 jsgunn The Mother of Heroes Part 11
I remained the RA of my dorm for the rest of my undergrad career. Then, after I graduated, there were some problems lining up a job. Apparently Stewart Newman's father was a biochemist, and little Stewart was destined to fend off extradimensional invaders (and yes, I know there is one reader who is now furiously typing up a letter explaining that the Chchshiuuni are NOT from another dimension, but I've read the Wikipedia article three times and I don't understand the distinction. You're reading my memoir, not my scientific explanation of extranormal invaders). His father, Victor Newman, was killed when the laboratory he worked at was hit by a meteorite, which, according to the investigative report, passed through 6 cylinders of various compressed gasses, ricocheted off a 7th, broke through a water line, shattered 9 containers of various other chemicals, then cracked the isolation unit on some kind of algae they were breeding for research on biofuels. This happened at 4:41 AM. Apparently this created something of a perfect storm as the chemicals reacted with the water and a very specific molecule produced by the algae acted as a catalyst which worked together to form pentanitroethyltoluenic acid, which is, according to the laws of chemistry, a chemical which desperately does not want to exist. For those not versed in chemistry, this stuff makes TNT look like HBO. That was supposed to say "H2O" but the I actually like it better this way. Anyway, the molecule was being synthesized in the laboratory for over four hours, until Victor arrived at a little before 9:00. His foot crossed the threshold and the laboratory detonated.
Prior to this event the company that ran the lab had just spent a bundle on a new security system with off site recording. This was the only evidence that could be used to put together the events, as according to the official report it "was as if God pressed the delete key".
So now that that story is floating around on Google there weren't a lot of labs that wanted to hire me. So I said fuck it. My ride is being paid for, let's go for a master's degree. Not like I had anything better to do. So I stayed in my dorm, working on my masters, and continued to be the RA.
A lot of the other RAs had horror stories about their dorms. About the nightmares they put up with. For me, for the most part, it was a breeze. If you want to become an RA and have an easy time with it, I have a few simple steps to insure you have it good.
Step 1: inherit the position from someone who's widely respected (thank you Helga)
Step 2: that person who is highly respected should make it known that you're carrying on their torch. (Thank you Helga)
Step 3: have really great women in your dorm. (Thank you Mr Pols)
Step 4: do your very best to fill the size 19 clogs that have been left for you to fill (wait, are clogs German? Oh who cares, I just said the Chchshiuuni were from another dimension)
That's not to say it was easy. I just didn't get the horror stories that others got. I never had to deal with Shane the Showerless or the Roach Incident. What I did have, however, were a lot of young women to look out for. And a lot of young women who came to me with their problems.
By the 2nd week I'd learned everyone's names, knew their majors, had a general idea about their schedules, home lives, and study habits. I knew who was a hard worker, who could keep a secret, who could hotwire a car, who could safely and reliably distill liquor and extract THC (It was me for those last 2 things. Hooray for biochemistry!) Not that I admit to having done any of those things, at least until the statute of limitations has passed. I also knew who needed help in their classes, who was too naive to go to a party alone, and who I could send them with to be sure they had a good time and made it home safe and sound.
In my third week as RA I called Helga because I missed her (I LOVE YOU HELGA) and we talked for like four hours and I gave her the rundown on everyone there and my assessments of such. Helga is many things, but a braggart is not one of them. It came as a surprise when Helga gloated for a full ten minutes about how she was right in her assessment of me. And yes, I guess it was pretty clever of me to "throw together five Amy's and a Rachel for frat party safety patrol." Rachel and Amy 3 were eye candy to serve as a diversion, Amy 2 and Amy 5 were recon to search for overly intoxicated girls, and Amy 1 and Amy 4 could either extract said girls like a SEAL team or steal booze like a… uh… SEAL team, as the situation dictated. By the end of the year they all had radios they used to stay in communication. I don't know where they got them, but they said they didn't buy them and were really evasive when asked about their origins.
Having taken over for Helga, I also grew something of a reputation. I kept her open door policy, any time, any problem, come talk to Shannon. You didn't need to be in my dorm. You didn't even need to be a woman. Hell, you didn't even need to be a student at our school. If you had a problem, I was available.
No one has problems at 2:00 on a sleepy afternoon when you've got a lot of energy and not enough to do. So this policy did make things a fair bit harder for me. Don't get me wrong, I've never regretted my policy, but problems did happen at almost comically inconvenient times.
For example, when I was having a really, really bad period and throwing up every six seconds, Amy (which Amy? I'll never tell. Just kidding, it was Amy 4) came to me because she'd just found out her childhood dog had died. What did I do? Chug half a bottle of pepto and force down half a pint of butter pecan. I kept it down, too, until she was back in her room asleep.
Little innocent Hannah got invited to a party the day of her last midterm, and really wanted to go. I had 4 mid terms left, and AMY team 6 was out or commission studying along with all my other go tos. So I went with her.
I don't think I'll ever forget that night. Hannah, sweet little innocent Hannah. Gorgeous, doe eyed Hannah. Naive, sheltered, quiet Hannah. Hannah is stunningly beautiful, and anyone who has met Hannah will know she has a very sharp wit and a way with words. What I didn't know is that she had a tongue sharp enough to kill a man at five paces. Hannah got rip roaring drunk (she did five shots in the 30 seconds it took me to pee) and then proceeded to massacre the entire fraternity.
Gary Fogelbaum was a senior, and a total dude bro. He was alright in a crisis and I do appreciate what he did when Pepper broke her leg, but at this point his respect for women left a bit to be desired. He could talk shit with the best of them, and he could take it better than he could dish it out. Five words. Five fucking words, and she left Gary Fogelbaum crying. He earned it. To be clear, she hadn't met Gary before. He sauntered up to her and hit on her, right in front of me. After her second no, he grabbed her hand and put it on his stomach and said "how can you say no to those abs."
Before I could knock his teeth out, Hannah, kind, caring, compassionate, saintly, Hannah disemboweled him. Right there in front of everybody. "Abs won't make daddy proud."
After that it was like something out of a Tarantino movie as I tried to steer her towards the door. Guys got in her way to try to avenge Gary and were verbally slaughtered without mercy. Heads were rolling, viscera was flying, blood was gushing. Nearly to the front door, someone grabbed her wrist.
Hannah spun with a gaze that could vaporize lead and her eyes landed on a short, skinny guy with glasses, who said "you almost forgot your purse" before handing it to her. She snatched her purse, shoved him against a wall and kissed him so hard I think his soul briefly left his body. And then we left. He's engaged to Hannah now, and I've got to say I'm a little jealous.

2023.03.21 21:14 ar417 My weekend trip: 3 Broadway shows, 1 off-Broadway + bonus Museum of Broadway review
I posted a few weeks ago about how I was coming to New York for the first time since 2019. I packed 4 shows into a weekend and am now infinitely more excited to see how this year's Tonys play out. In the order of which I saw them:
Shucked - A lot of my thoughts are in line with the more lukewarm reviews on here. I had a great time and don't regret seeing it, but there were also a lot of things I didn't love about it. The comedy was definitely the main appeal. There were about a third of the jokes that really weren't my style (all the potty humor), and one that I think really crossed the line in a way that had me wondering why it was even included (the rape joke), but at the end there were just so many jokes that there were plenty that did have me giggling. I think the main issue I had with it was that it was so silly, that when it tried to be sentimental, it completely lost me. When I first saw their marketing I was confused at how none of it actually explained what the show was about, and now that I've seen it I can see why - the plot is not exactly the draw here. There were so many country ballads in the second act that I was just bored - I didn't care enough about these characters to stay invested. I also completely agree with everyone that Alex Newell is seriously underutilized and moreover I think part of the problem is that after a showstopper pretty early in the show, all of their songs are bland ballads where they really don't get to show off their skills. The other thing was that a lot of the jokes were played as self-deprecating jokes about rural people which plays as kind of weird to a New York audience, like even though the characters are laughing at themselves, the play as a whole is punching down. I kind of wonder who those jokes are for. Ticket notes: I got this through Broadway Roulette and was just so happy that I didn't get Bad Cinderella that I was probably in a better mood that night for it. I get seats in the middle of the mezzanine. The view was great but the leg room at the Nederlander is awful and the mezzanine is so steep that I got dizzy a few times.
Leopoldstadt - I came in with some mixed expectations about this one. I am Jewish and I also love Jewish history (I minored in Jewish Studies in college and did another year post-college of Torah study). A good number of my (also Jewish) friends had seen it before me and mostly had mixed reviews. I'm somewhat familiar with Tom Stoppard's other works, mostly Arcadia, which I saw twice and read. I also love a lot of "Jewish plays", but I don't usually love Holocaust fiction of any sort. Having said all that, I was almost surprised by how much I loved this and how 2 hours and 15 minutes flew by. I loved hearing them debate antisemitism, Zionism, Marxism, assmilation, etc. I loved the classic Stoppard technique of using mathematical concepts as a metaphor for the larger story. And though I've heard several people say they wish the Holocaust wasn't included, I think facing some of my own generational trauma was worth it because I loved the last scene. I will say that what contributed to my reaction was that A. my own ancestors were pretty similar to the family in the play (they were German and Italian and not Austrian, and I did have some more who particularly on the Italian side who got out before the Holocaust, but as far as them being completely secular and assimilated, and the German side of my family being almost completely erased, it was accurate) and B. I came in pretty prepared, having read Stoppard's story about his heritage and having been told that you shouldn't get bogged down in the characters or the relations, but rather on the dialogue. That was very good advice. Also, I love Falsettos and it was really good to see Brandon Uranowitz and Anthony Rosenthal together on stage again. Ticket notes: I got these through TDF and they were great seats in the front row of the mezzanine. Perfect for being able to capture the entire stage and all of the actors while also being able to clearly see their faces.
Kimberly Akimbo - My favorite show I saw on this trip! After seeing Shucked, I appreciated even more how well this show balanced humor with honest emotion. The entire cast was at the top of their game, and I don't think there was a single moment that I wasn't completely engaged. I didn't know Bonnie Milligan before this but I hope she shows up in EVERYTHING after hopefully winning the Tony for this.I also love Jeanine Tesori and this seemed like a great example of why. Ticket notes: I won the lottery! It seemed like at my show all the lottery winners were in the front row (the way I'm pretty sure it used to be with all shows). It has been a while since I've sat so close and while my neck didn't love it, it was so cool to be able to see every tiny detail and see the actors right there. Also I really feel like I lucked out by winning the lottery since I wanted to see this no matter what and was planning on rushing or doing TKTS otherwise, but this freed up my morning to do other things :)
Sleep No More - Not a Broadway show but one still theater, technically? This was the first ticket I bought for this trip (and ironically my most expensive one as there are no discounts that I know of) and I knew some going in but tried to keep mostly mostly spoiler-free. I'm very glad I experienced it and loved the world that they created but also I was completely lost on any semblance of plot besides what I know of the Scottish play, which did not really line up with what I actually saw. I didn't really stick with any one character mostly since I wasn't interested in running and especially not running up multiple flights of stairs repeatedly. I'm glad I got to see many different actors' performances, although I do wonder if I did follow just one, especially one of the Macbeth characters (I have now read that there are actually two plotlines happening, one based on Rebecca), I may have gotten a little more out of it. I do understand now why people go so many times since it would be good to see more scenes especially knowing more about how it works, although with the cost of a ticket I'm not really sure how that's feasible for most people. I did feel very lucky to get a one-on-one and it was both very cool and supremely uncomfortable. I am not used to all that prolonged eye contact and touching (consensual, but still surprising) from a stranger, let alone a stranger in character. Other notes: They do tell you to wear good shoes for walking which I did but I did not wear good shoes for standing and that did my feet in by the end of the three hours (plus time spent waiting in line). Also really glad I was warned to wear my contacts! COVID masks are no longer required but I still wear one and I would have seen nothing if I was wearing that plus my glasses under the stage mask. Also I'm really glad I didn't have a drink at the bar before the show because I already feel like I almost fell or stumbled multiple times in the dark and the chaos.
BONUS: The Museum of Broadway - This was gorgeous and very informative but not worth the price of admission. I was kind of shocked at how some of the other guests seemed to not be super invested in Broadway (I overheard someone asking another person what Hairspray is) because I would not have dropped that kind of money if it wasn't for pretty much my favorite topic. It took me about 90 minutes to get through, and that was while reading the panels somewhat thoroughly. I will stay that it was fun talking to the staff! They're mostly college-aged folks who were pretty nerdy for this stuff and it was fun to compare experiences of different musicals with them. Also my favorite of their prop collection is the cod from Come from Away.
Overall a successful trip! Curious to hear your thoughts about any of the above.

2023.03.21 21:10 Right-Collection-592 Does the Berimbolo work (Keenan debate)?
https://www.flograppling.com/video/6363301-keenan-cornelius-meta-game-debate-is-berimbolo-statistically-effective
I'm reviving this nearly 6 year old debate first brought up by KeenanCornelius. Keenan, who was once a prolific berimbolo guy himself, famously declared that the berimbolo doesn't work. To be fair, he was a little more nuanced and said the "basic" berimbolo doesn't work, but that certain variations, such as transitioning to crab, can work but often aren't the best option, or that berimbolos can be used to set up leg drags and such, but they shouldn't get you to back that often.
The above flo article (from 2019) seems to mostly agree with Keenan, and says that the berimbolo seems to be on its way out.
In hindsight, do you guys think they were right? Personally, I think history has proven the opposite the true. Rather than disappearing, the berimbolo seems to be more important than ever, and even now has a huge presence in NoGi, where back then in didn't. Berimbolos are now simply fundamental to modern leg lock defense. Anyone know if Keenan has updated his outlook in recent years?

2023.03.21 21:10 mcindoeman DLC speculation - The Monkey King and Changeling (JK it's mostly Dien Ch'ing)
The Lords:
The monkey King Cathay's big monke, in lore the Monkey king is kinda neutral, working both with and against the dragons of Cathay. He has openly traded with Skaven and asked their generals to aid in training his troops and has also allowed ambassadors from openly tzeentch following city states into his court.
That said he has also fights to defend Cathay from the south and has betrayed the previously mentioned ambassadors from Tzeentch once he got what he wanted from them. so yea he isn't part of Cathay's iron handed government but he ain't fully chaos.
He will likely be focused on melee brawling, if he has magic i would expect beasts and Yang but the melee focus is still gonna be strong. He might have a stalk aspect to him, to represent his trickster nature.
In terms of units, he would bring Monkey warriors which might be stalking infantry due to the Monkey king believing an Eshin warlord could lead them well. Cathay is missing a big stalking unit hole in their tech tree. There would also likely be (Great) vermilion birds which would be a phoenix like unit and possibly smaller fell bat sized swarms all with flaming attacks. beyond that i would guess a lore of beasts hero.
Changeling A Shapeshifter and lore of Tzeentch spell caster. Lore wise, he is a trickster who enjoys pranks but has spent so long shapeshifting he has forgotten his original form. Tzeentch uses this to manipulate and strong the changeling along doing his bidding. According to the loading screen lore, the changeling is currently trying to turn public opinion in Cathay against the Monkey king, likely due to his betrayal of the cult of Tzeentch in lore.
Likely to have some form of transformation ability but to what? who knows. Likely has some form of stalk prob some uses of the hidden in time ability. In terms of units the most likely is changebringers, and if he is focusing on fighting in Cathay, maybe some smaller cultist units? other than that i'm not sure.
Legendary Hero: Dien Ch'ing You might be wonder who on earth is Dien Ch'ing? Dien Ch'ing is one of the only 2 known members of the Monkey Kings court, an ambassador and representative for an openly Tzeentch run city state during the Cathay civil war. That was until the Monkey king fired and exiled him without warning, angered Dien Ch'ing murdered a diplomat the Monkey King sent to form an alliance with Karl franz, then took his place. Dien Ch'ing then proceeded to try and assassinate Karl Franz's son (by jumping him outside a brothel with 3 other chaos cultists), framing Cathay in the process. Dien Ch'ing's plan was foiled however and he went on to aid several pro-chaos rebellions in Kislev and was last spotted in a chaos warband pretending not to see Gotrek and felix and walking away in the other direction
Is he even still canon? yes, he has been mentioned twice by GW as still canon since game 3's launch. In the Warhammer RPG, one of the NPCs is a Cathay ambassador who mentions that the Empire couldn't figure out that the last Cathay ambassador was an imposter. The other more direct and meta confirmation that Dien Ch'ing is still canon, comes from GW's Q&A they released when Cathay was announced. The Q&A says in it's footnote that a certain Cathay wizard from the book beasts in velvet is still canon, Dien Ch'ing being the only Cathay wizard in said story.
In terms of abilities, Dien knows some form of martial arts so expect him to be stated like a legendary Eshin sorcerer. He is also the first recorded user of the lore of Yin spell ancestral warriors, in one of the stories he appears in, he summons his grandfather's ghost to fend off attackers. That was prob the main reason he was confirmed as still canon, to hint at Cathay's new magic. So Dien Ch'ing would be a lore of Yin and likely Tzeentch spell caster, a deadly combination.
To summarise what i hope from Dien Ch'ing as a legendary hero:
- Recruitable for BOTH Cathay and Tzeentch factions - i mean if the Empire and Kislev can share a hero why not Cathay and the Tzeentch spies that infiltrate them?
- Lore of Yin - and likely also Tzeentch but Yin is confirmed.
- martial arts - so again similar in stats to a LH version of an eshin sorc maybe?
- +50% harmony booster passive - to represent his Cathayan heritage, also encourages him to be used in a Cathay faction or with Cathay outpost units
- Skill for bonus relations to Tzeentch and Cathay factions. Mostly to make outposts cheaper
- Skill that boosts horrors of Tzeentch in combat - that way he is useful in a Tzeentch army and encourages Cathay armies he is in to use Tzeentch outposts, similar to Zhao Ming's ogre bonuses but i guess it would be harder to get tzeentch units than ogres.
- Spreads Tzeentch corruption - i mean why wouldn't he? it's just flavourful.
In terms of recruitment, i'd say he gets unlocked by taking control of Beichi since it's the only city in Cathay with a history of Chaos (so far), tho i wouldn't mind him getting a quest or similar that starts once the city is taken.
FLC: Li Dao The fire dragon, Li Dao. If he follows the Same pattern as Zhao Ming and Miao Ying then he will have a mix of lore of fire and Yin, 100% a range focused lord. Why range focused? because the lore of fire passive boosts fire damage and in the base Cathay roster only the rocket and cannon units deal fire damage. With this DLC there would be other fire based options for him to buff but for people who just own the base game getting Li Dao as FLC, he will boost only artillery, so it makes sense for him to be a ranged focused lord. Plus it will give him a different playstyle to the Monkey king's melee.
FLC: Total war access: lore of Fire Alchemists. Mentioned already in game in the description of Zhao Ming and his metal alchemists form the unit browser. Basically the same as the current lore of metal alchemists, if they get a new model i would expect it to be a male wizard as fire is a sub lore of Yang while metal is a sub lore of Yin in Cathay.

2023.03.21 21:05 BoyleStreetOfficial okimaw peyesew kamik is back on track!
Forgive us if this seems like self-promotion, but we're very excited to share:
Today we’re proud to announce that we’ve received a Class-A development permit from the City of Edmonton for okimaw peyesew kamik (King Thunderbird Centre) to proceed with the development of our new, purpose-built facility.
“I like it here (at Boyle Street) and I can’t wait until we get into the new building,” says Helen, an individual accessing services art Boyle Street.
In receiving the permit, we have met the requirements outlined in the November 25, 2022, Subdivision and Appeals Board decision allowing the project to move forward. While we strongly disagree with the decision which, in-part, listed Indigenous cultural supports as “recreational activities,” we’ll move forward as is. We plan to work with Edmonton City Council in the future to ensure those services can be added to the facility later.
Boyle Street Executive Director Jordan Reiniger says “Today demonstrates that we are back on track and close to making okimaw peyesew kamik a reality for those we serve across our city. This project has broad-based support and has been guided by Indigenous leaders & Knowledge Keepers. We know that the number of individuals experiencing homelessness in our city has doubled since the pandemic, and we are now presenting Edmontonians an opportunity to support a project that will be part of the solution. With the support of Edmonton, I have no doubt that okimaw peyesew kamik will become a reality.”
“It's not scary here (at Boyle Street.) People do not know what it is like here – when they visit, they see a whole new aspect of the place,” adds Woody, who accesses Boyle Street services.
We’re also excited to announce that we’ve reached 80% of our $28.5 million fundraising goal - thanks to our supporters. We’re now calling on all Albertans to help us reach our final fundraising goal by donating to the project directly. You can support the project by donating at

2023.03.21 21:03 tajul_islam Broken left big toe not healing
30 years old male. 5 ft 11. Have history of broken collar bone twice and ankle of right hand. Two of which occurred in the last 6 months.
So, I had to go to my village after my father passed away last month. After the funeral, we had to organize a gathering with people he knew.
During the preparation, I had to walk at least 50 kilometres in first three days that made my legs numb. Just three days before the program, I slipped and ended up breaking the big toe of my left leg. (February 22)
I managed to get an x-ray immediately for confirmation. Even though the local doctor told me to wrap it up immediately, being as grieve-striken I was, I decided to keep working on the program and walked another 30 km in the next three days.
After returning to the city, I immediately went to see someone who really isn’t a doctor in that sense, but have massive popularity for being able to deal with broken bones. Upon looking at my xray, he wrapped up the lower portion of my leg. (Feb 26)
After a week or so, the wrapping got lose. So I removed it, did another xray (since the previous one was blurry) and went to see a certified orthopaedic. He looked at it wrapped my leg from my knee to the fingers with hard plaster. I couldn’t even walk anymore and had to use clutches. (March 5)
Today, I have had enough (my betta fish died in my home. I gave him to someone else before coming to my hometown and he didn’t change water.) I removed that plaster and it felt good at first. My finger is moving and I didn’t feel much pain apart from some occasional pinching. I heard some cracking noise twice while moving my finger. During one of those, the entire toe had a pain for only a second.
Now that its been an hour, I am feelingthe spot where it broken getting numb. It doesn’t feel normal. Is it because the bone didn’t heal or because I couldn’t move for a while, i don’t know.
As a person, I don’t like lying around and letting others do basic things for me. Maybe its only me, but I am sensing that people around me, even my wife, is feeling disturbed sometimes when I ask her to bring me some water. And I don’t like that. I don’t want to go through this again.
Is there anything I can do? Thank you.
Also, if anyone knows any place where I can have someone to talk to so that I can move on with my life, it will be a great help. I am completely broken mentally.
[[I will share my x-ray of March 5 in the comment.]

2023.03.21 21:00 The_Fallen_1 [THJVerse] Arcane Starfarers - ep 1 - To the stars
Hi all, I’m back with the full series following on from my last mini-series, Angland U. If you haven’t read it, I would highly recommend it, as it serves as a prologue and an easy entry into the THJ Universe, which started with
The Hunter’s Journey. I have tried to make it so reading THJ isn’t necessary if you read the
prologue, but it will provide more insight into the world than my prologue will (it’s a lot easier to go into the full depths of something with around 2,000 pages than it is with around 40-50 after all.)
Fair warning, there will be some adult themes in the series, so reader discretion is advised.
So, without further ado, enjoy!

-----------------------------
Daniel rolled his left arm in its socket as he read his new assignment once more, excited to finally be getting out of constant lessons, training, and parades. He shut off the holoviewer and retracted it back into his bionic arm, allowing his hand to snap back into place, banging the back of it a couple times to make sure it was seated properly, and letting out a small sigh of relief that it was still holding up after so much punishment in basic training. He quickly checked his bags once more, making sure he had everything on him, completed one final check of the room, and then exited it. He walked down the hallway and hopped into the lift, heading down to the ground floor. Once there, he walked over to the reception, where he checked out of the hotel, and then made his way over to the hotel's subway entrance.
Upon entering the subway, he identified the military door and scanned his pass, letting him through the secure door to the private platform, where a half filled carriage was waiting. He quickly boarded and found a seat, watching the door for another 30 seconds before they closed and the carriage began to move. Less than a minute later, the carriage slowed to a halt at the other platform, and everyone began to disembark. Once he was off, Daniel quickly pulled his uniform straight, making sure the creases were still crisp and that his brassard was sitting correctly, before touching his headdress to make sure it was on straight, and he then began to walk up the stairs and left the subway.
Looking out onto the runway, he spotted his transport almost completely loaded, a massive 350 metre wide behemoth of a flying wing, an ASWT-16. As he walked towards the military security terminal of the spaceport, two privates stood to attention and saluted him, which he acknowledged quickly so they could get back to their business. He scanned his pass on the security terminal, and then walked through the attached gate, scanning him and finding nothing of concern. He quickly removed his headdress now that he was on an active airfield, and stored it in his bag before jumping on the nearby shuttle bus, which collected a few more people before the doors closed and silently drove towards the transport, coming to a stop just before the ramp. Everyone quickly disembarked, and the bus headed back to the gate the instant the last person was off, and then the group all quickly boarded the transport, rushing to get one of the better seats. Daniel didn’t rush though, and instead headed to the subtly comfier seats with an actual real window that peeked over the surface of the wing, reserved for officers like himself, and he stuffed his bags under it.
As he waited for boarding and loading to wrap up, he flicked his metal hand back and checked his messages on his holo once again, looking to see if any of his family or friends had responded. As expected, he had a quick good luck message from his Dad, and absolutely nothing from his Mother, but all his childhood and University friends had responded, barring the one person he really wanted to hear from. He knew she had read it, the app indicated as such, but she hadn’t responded. He hoped she was just writing a really long message congratulating him and wishing him luck, but he couldn’t just help but worry that she hadn’t taken the news well.
He forced it out of his mind as the loading ramp began to close and the transport crew called out their final checks. He raised both his arms off of his lap as a crew member checked to make sure his belt was on, and once the crew member had checked everyone on the row, they found their own seat and sat down. Less than two minutes later, a low rumble could be heard as all twelves thrusters roared to full power, and the transport began to quickly accelerate down the runway, taking off with its full 4,000 tonne load.
Daniel watched the fields blitz past out the window, each one getting smaller and smaller as they ascended faster and faster, until he could just about make out the curvature of the Earth, feeling a small jolt as the thrusters switched from their air breathing modes to their vacuum modes. It didn’t take long until all he could see out of his tiny window was the black void of space above the wing. The wing in question suddenly became a hub of activity as numerous panels began to wing open or retract, allowing a pylon with a long pod on the end to raise up, which began to glow a dull blue as the star formations visible to him began to distort.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention please,” one of the crew members began. “We are now at warp, and it is safe to walk around the craft. ETA for Mars orbit is 30 minutes, so please make sure you are buckled back in before that happens. The gravity generator isn’t the strongest on a transport like this, so the docking manoeuvres could pose a danger. Also, please don’t enter the cargo grid, gravity is weaker there, and any magnetic objects could be ripped from your body. I don’t fancy having to retrieve your body for the medic because a piercing got ripped out.”
Daniel looked over to the other passengers, noticing that one of the plain clothes personnel was grimacing and holding their legs tight together, while their friend next to them bumped their shoulder with a poorly masked grin. He shook his head and got to his feet, giving them a stretch while he had the chance, and checked his holo to see that it was now disconnected from the network as expected. He snapped his hand back into place, finding that the connection for his little finger wasn’t engaging properly, so he gave the back of his hand a firm smack and thankfully managed to regain control of his extremity.
“Should probably get that looked into, Sir,” the Lieutenant sitting next to him said.
“Yeah, I’ve got a replacement ordered. It’s been messed up since basic, and I’ve finally gotten approval for the latest model,” Daniel explained.
“Is requisition that bad at the moment?”
“Only for the full suite I need.”
“What do you need that’s in short supply?”
“Sorry, but that’s need to know,” Daniel told him, knowing that the parts weren’t restricted information to someone of his rank, but he was still happy to use it to avoid unwanted conversation at the moment.
“Of course, sir. My apologies for asking.”
“No harm done,” Daniel assured him as he straightened his shirt and made his way towards the front of the transport.
He opened the doorway into a corridor, and then immediately made his way into the office space, taking a seat in one of the four cubicles and logging into one of the computers, pleased to see that his travel profile had been uploaded before takeoff. The data was sparse, but it was all he needed at the moment, which was mainly the bios of his soon to be subordinates, and more importantly interview and trainer notes. None of them had any real world experience in the world of electronic subterfuge, though they did all pass the training and tests with perfect grades like him, even if the tests missed off a few handy tricks he’d utilised on occasion. It meant that he would likely be irreplaceable if the ship was in a dangerous situation, though he knew that would be the case just from him being in a position of authority. He was a little disappointed by the prospect of almost always having to be at his post, but such was Navy life.
He continued to look more closely at their bios, making a mental note of the comments made against them. They all seemed to be by the book types, which means that he would have to teach them some dirty tricks at some point, but it at least meant that he wasn’t likely to have a rough time with them. They all originated from various colonies though, so he was wary of the tribalism that could cause. It should have been trained out of them so they all acted as a single unit, but pride was often something hard rooted.
“Five minutes till Mars!” a crew member shouted into the room, before moving onto the next.
Daniel took his que to wipe his profile in case it got missed due to tight schedules, and logged off. It might not be his responsibility to do so, but he’d be damned if someone else messed up and he and his new team got hurt for it. He left the cubical and made his way back to his seat, buckling in and allowing himself to be inspected once again.
He looked out the window once again as the warp pylon powered down and the distortion effect stopped, causing the green and blue surface of Mars to take up the majority of his view. It remained in his few for only a few moments though, as the transport began to turn and roll as it aligned with the station. The warp pylons quickly stowed themselves in the wings again, and the transport edged forward, sliding into the hangar after a minute or two of travel. There was a small bump as the craft touched down, followed by a droop as the hangar’s gravity was turned up to normal levels.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Mars Stardock 02. Please disembark to allow for unloading of supplies,” the crew member from before announced.
Not wanting to get caught in the crowd, Daniel jumped up from his seat, picked up his bags quickly, and was the fourth person to exit the transport. He looked at the unloading tractors that were entering the room, noticing that they had a particularly large one usually reserved for ship modules. He was surprised that something like that would be coming from Earth given Mars’ manufacturing capabilities, but he probably couldn’t find out what it was without putting his rank at risk, so he elected to ignore it. Instead, he headed over to the hangar exit and scanned his pass, confirming his presence aboard the station.
As he began to walk down the corridor of the station, following the signs for the habs, he checked his messages once more, finding that he still hadn’t received the message he was hoping for. He did his best to hide his frustration, and continued on until he reached the nearest short stay habs, walking past the honeycomb array of pods designed to pack in the lower ranking spacemen of visiting ships if the ships weren’t serviceable. Thankfully for him however, he was able to keep walking until he reached the officer’s cabins, picking an empty one and assigning it to himself.
His temporary accommodation was little more than a small bed, a desk, and a stool, but it served his needs. He dropped his bags on his bed, and quickly activated his arm’s scanners, checking the room for any bugs, which he found none of. He knew there was practically no way of someone knowing which room he’d end up in, but he couldn’t be too careful. Happy that he was safe, he opened the makeshift compartment on his arm, removing the memory chip that had sat there for almost five years at this point. He carefully hid it in the ceiling light cover, and exited the room, locking the door behind him. He knew that after five years of no-one looking for it that was probably safe, but he wasn’t going to take the risk.
He began to look at the station signs again, managing to find a layout map. He quickly committed it to memory the best he could, and made his way to the station’s clinic. Once he finished the short walk there, he checked himself in, and was assigned to a room, which he entered and sat down on the bed within it. He let out a small sigh as he looked around the room, waiting for the doctor to arrive, and began to study all the posters and displays, containing information on a bunch of medical advice that was inapplicable to him.
“Sorry about the wait,” an old and balding man in a medical uniform apologised to him as he entered the room, carrying a large long black case.
“It’s not a problem,” Daniel assured him.
“I’m Dr Middleton,” the Doctor informed him. “Now, may I just confirm your identity please?”
“Lieutenant Commander Daniel Hardbrooks,” Daniel replied, handing over his military ID.
“... Indeed you are. Just a couple of quick questions before we get onto why you’re here. Can you please confirm the purpose of your visit?” the Doctor asked, handing his ID back.
“To receive a replacement mechanical prosthetic arm, containing equipment I am not allowed to disclose.”
“And can I confirm that you don’t need a socket upgrade?”
“No, I have the latest socket after my last one broke during basic training.”
“Perfect,” the Doctor replied, checking a few boxes on his holo display. “Will you be recycling your old arm, or will you keep it?”
“Recycle. This thing will probably break if you look at it wrong,” he explained, taking off his shirt and holding up his scratched and dented arm.
“A mk IV-C. I’m surprised it’s still working. Well, you’ve got a nice new mk XXII-NM. I’m pleased to inform you that a starsteel heatsink was successfully sourced, as well as some other components that are simply blank on my display,” the Doctor told him as he handed Daniel the case. “The profile from your old arm has been transferred onto this one, but you will have to map any new functions.”
“Of course,” Daniel replied, pressing the lock and allowing the case to scan him.
After almost ten seconds of waiting, the locks popped off, and the lid opened to reveal his new arm. It looked almost like a real arm in shape, except he had given it a custom carbon black with white trim paint scheme, and replaced the plates that visually simulated muscle with armour and electronics. Happy with his new appendage, he grabbed hold of his current arm and popped it out of its socket, laying it on the nearby table before picking up his new arm and locking it in place, checking to make sure the seal engaged properly.
He rolled his shoulder, surprised at how smooth the motion was, making him realise just how bad his old arm was performing. He then began to twist his arm and wrist while flexing his fingers, finding that each motion felt like it had less purpose, but they instead felt much more natural like his real arm. He then performed a systems check, making sure none of the secret stuff was displayed, before giving the doctor a thumbs up.
“It’s working perfectly. Thank you for your help,” he told the Doctor as he put his shirt back on.
“You’re very welcome. Please tap here to confirm your appointment has been completed,” the Doctor instructed, pointing at his holo display.
“There. All done,” Daniel replied, performing the action.
“Thank you very much. Any issues and concerns, please check back here or to any other military approved clinic as soon as possible.”
“Will do. Thanks once again for your help,” Daniel told him as he left the clinic.
Daniel made his way straight back to his hab, entering it and testing out his new scanner, finding it to return the same readings of his room, but he could now read practically every electromagnetic and aetheric signature within half a kilometre, with the larger signals of the station’s fusion generators easily detectable from almost two kilometres away. Satisfied, he quickly retrieved the memory chip from the light cover, and stored it within the new secret high security compartment he now possessed.
Satisfied, he left his room once more and entered one of the nearest lifts. He punched in the button for the observation deck, and braced himself slightly as the lift accelerated rapidly, bringing him to his destination in a matter of seconds. He stepped out of the lift and into what was essentially a ball of transparent metal, overlooking the whole station. He walked over to the edge, and took in the sight of the disk shaped station floating over the distant Martian landscape. He could just about make out some of the smaller hangars from his vantage point, but what he was more interested in was the docking arms on the outside of the disk.
He could make out three corvettes dock on a single arm, and another one on an arm of its own. The next three arms were empty, with the next two servicing a frigate each, followed by three arms servicing destroyers. He was able to identify the classes of the destroyers, identifying two as direct combat ships, and the third as a light drone carrier. Finally, he rested his eyes on a single ship taking up two arms that were far longer than the others, the expedition cruiser, CNS Trailmaker.
His soon to be new home.

2023.03.21 20:51 Clear_Lemon4950 Debating the merits of horseback as a reasonable fantasy mobility aid
This is just a hypothetical and something that ofc I know will vary from disability to disability and context to context. I'm just curious to read some different perspectives on this.
In other subs I sometimes see mounted builds offered as a way to play a character who has limited mobility or ability to walk. But as someone who often uses a cane for foot/knee/leg pain and also spent some time around horses as a kid, this seems not all that practical to me. But I'm curious if anyone here knows of any historical or present day mobility aids specifically for horseback riding that might be of interest for people wanting to play disabled mounted adventurers, or any other thoughts on the subject. Especially if anyone here has experiences riding horseback with a foot/leg mobility disability I'm very curious to hear your thoughts!
My experience of horseback riding was that it was very athletic: you can't just sort of sit limply on a horse and do nothing, especially if that horse is going any speed other than a super slow and careful walk, because you will bounce all the hell around. Riding is a bit of a work out and afaik frequent riders usually to get pretty strong legs. You have to use a lot of leg strength to grip/guide/move with/stay on the horse, and if you ride with a saddle/stirrups you will have to put weight on your feet/ankles too. (Maybe not if you are riding sidesaddle? I forget how that works, I never tried it. It's possible sidesaddle might be a good alternative for adventurers with leg related mobility issues, I'll look this up later and report back.) I certainly don't think I personally could horseback ride comfortably these days for any longer than I can walk or stand comfortably, and I have doubts about whether horseback riding is going to save a lot of energy for someone with say, chronic illness or fatigue.
The advantage of horseback I guess is speed. If a full days foot travel isn't possible for you but you can get there on horseback in half the time, I can see how that could be useful for fatigue or pain management. But for most classic fantasy adventurers who travel all day all the time I don't see it making a huge difference, especially if you are traveling at the speed of party members who are on foot. (Then again maybe you are not riding as athletically when you are traveling slowly, but idk.) When I think about historical options for someone who was disabled or ill, I think about riding in a carriage or cart, not on horseback. Unless it's maybe an emergency. Like in movies you sometimes see like a limp unconscious person thrown with their body taco-style over a horse's back but I'm not sure how well that works irl having never tried it. But unfortunately neither hanging lengthwise over the side of your horse nor being confined to a cart seem like a great choice for melee battle or varied terrain.
So unless we are very very specific with why the character can't walk easily but can ride easily, I wonder if the mounted combatant builds that I see suggested are actually an accurate way of handling mobility disabilities in the adventuring context. But I'm curious if anyone here has any other thoughts or ideas? I also just wanted to put some of my thoughts and questions in writing in case anyone is in this sub looking for advice on doing a mounted combatant character.

2023.03.21 20:50 Radion4k [Guide] The Krangle event starts in 1 hour! Unsure how to progress? Here's some quick theorycrafting to plan your start to the event.
Which skill should I play?
The world is your oyster. However, your safest bet will be to play some kind of attack build. Casters, Summoners and other builds which rely on somewhat niche notables to get damage will be kind of screwed by the sheer amount of attack nodes. However, these may become viable once people have started revealing the entire tree.
I expect Attack Builds to be the best, because they benefit not only from a lot of generic damage notables, they also get a ton of niche notables on the tree that you can mix and match. Found 3 great axe notables in your starting area? Hey, your an axe build now! Oh, there's some dual wielding nodes up next? Congratulations, your swinging two of them now! You get the idea.
In addition, they also get the most amount of ascendancy notables. I've sorted all of them into a spreadsheet,
which you can find here. How do I plan my tree?
I’ve divided the entire thing into clusters with the least amount of travel nodes between them. You can find the entire graphic here.
The basic idea is to start by revealing as many notables as possible (the blue and green areas), then progress into specialized masteries once you know which good notables/keystones/ascendancy notables you want to plan your build around.
Notables are King. While there can be travel nodes that are great (+1% max res, 6% life, etc.) or at least somewhat useful for your build, revealing as many notables as possible will obviously give you the best chance to get the juiciest bonuses.
Which ascendancy do I play?
In order to have the best chances to get useful ascendancy notables, you'll want to reveal as many of them as you can! That makes Deadeye and Chieftain the best ascendancies to pick, because they both get 8 of them.
In addition, you want the fewest amount of "nestled" notables, because if a good ascendancy hides behind a terrible one, you're kind of screwed. You can find a list of ascendancies down below.
Ascendancy Tier List
#1: Ranger - Quick access to the busted shadow starting area and it’s good jewel socket, goes through attribute notables to get there - Has one of the best theoretical ascendancy choices in deadeye Deadeye (6 direct, 1 semi-nestled, 1 nestled) Pathfinder (5 direct, 2 nestled) Raider (3 direct, 3 nestled)
#2: Marauder - Can get to good jewel socket at duelist or templar while grabbing their notable clusters - Gets the best theoretical ascendancy in Chieftain Chieftain (7 direct, 1 semi-nestled) Juggernaut (5 direct, 2 nestled) Barbarian (5 direct, 2 nestled)
#3: Shadow - Best starting cluster and access to a good jewel socket - Below average ascendancies Assassin (5 direct, 2 nestled) Trickster (5 direct, 2 nestled) Saboteur (5 direct, 2 nestled)
#4: Duelist - Most flexible choice - Below average starting cluster, but good jewel socket to make up for it - Below average amount of ascendancy notables Slayer (5 direct, 2 nestled) Champion (5 direct, 2 nestled) Gladiator (4 direct, 3 nestled)
#5: Templar - Decent starting cluster with good jewel socket and the best wheels on the edge of the tree - Average ascendancy choices Hierophant (5 direct, 3 nestled) Guardian (5 direct, 2 nestled) Inquisitor (4 direct, 3 nestled)
#6: Witch - Shittiest starting cluster, has the best notable per point value in there with the fire/lightning/frost walker wheel but very few notables with easy access - Bad jewel socket, shortest path to good jewel sockets does not travel through attribute notables - Worst big clusters on the edge of the tree Elementalist (6 direct, 2 nestled) Necromancer (5 direct, 3 nestled) Occultist (5 direct, 2 nestled)

2023.03.21 20:49 nonexistentgreen EN players - let's talk about cheating
So, Rank Match is coming to EN (in less than 12 hours as I’m writing this!). Maybe you’ve seen a few posts crop up on your twitter TL or randomly on this subreddit bringing up fear of cheaters. Maybe you haven’t and have only seen the ones saying “I’m no good, I’ll probably only languish in bronze” or something like that. But all the same, I think we need to treat with the topic.
Let’s talk about cheating. It’s rampant, and it needs to be recognized. It’s worth addressing. It’s worth keeping EN’s integrity as a server. A little context, before I do: I'm a user from the community Sekai server (henceforth referred to as Sekaicord) linked on the sidebar. By habit, I am not a reddit user, and I apologize if this comes off too strong as a consequence. I understand this is a contentious topic, and I recognize that I might have perception bias if the only posts I see from here showcase the "worst" posts and not the actual "average" opinion on this — but, my impression is that, in general, this subreddit has a terrible track record when it comes to identifying cheaters, and an equally awful slate of defenses for their behavior. I'm writing this post not just to address some of these defenses, but also to open the conversation. The less we know about it, the less we can push the devs to take action on it. And likewise, the more we’re aware…
Some context for my viewpoints / experiences on the matter:
- I'm a Day 1 JP player, with 240+ Master FCs. I played EN from day 1 up until around Scramble, when the amount of external tiering drama got too much for me (and, if
my handle on what happened during White Day is right, it hasn't gotten better). Level-wise, I’d be about Lv31-32 for FC skill and 26-28 AP-wise. Ask me for a handcam if you want. On Sekaicord I frequently talk to much better players — yes, even ones who can FC/AP 33+ songs (which are probably the most likely to get doubted). I asked a player with Lv34+ FCs (AMARA, 16bit, Intense Voice, Disappearance/END) to review this huge treatise before I wrote it out. I'm pretty confident as to their legitimacy and generally see some patterns that emerge as to why they are. I'll explain some of these here.
- I tend to give the benefit of the doubt to APs up to around Lv32 in the wild, but a lot of Lv33+ FCs tend to be more suspect for any number of reasons you can see from the co-op results screen.
- The atmosphere in Sekaicord around cheating is, as you can probably infer from my tone, highly distrusting. Cheaters are banned on sight once proof is established beyond doubt – so in fact, it surprises me that technically speaking, the rules on the subreddit’s sidebar don’t concretely penalize cheating!
But like many communities, it didn't start out like that. The dedicated gameplay channel was VERY happy to celebrate players' accomplishments (we used to have every 33+ FC pinned) and generally didn't ask for much proof — until Rank Match came on JP,
and a player who we all thought was just insanely good got exposed (because JP caught and banned him). Here's the thing — he was a good player in his own right (i.e., Lv. 32+, but not good enough for the results he cheated), and the way he hid his results was much less blatant than some of the people later banned from the server for cheating, who… well, put in about as much effort as some of the cheaters that have been linked to me from here. This is how it goes for pretty much any community: break the established trust, and obviously nothing's the same afterward.
I will try to write this in such a way that it gives cheaters as few hints as possible on how to make their plays look more "legit"; I simply want to point out some of the common patterns that emerge when a cheater really is afoot (and which are never an issue for a legitimate player), and refute some of the more common defenses.
Another thing: yes, not everyone condescends to the level of some of these defenses I’ve written out. However, I’ve seen them appear enough in more or less these exact forms, unchallenged, that it’s worth quoting them in exactly the same way to give you an idea of what’s wrong with these viewpoints. This is not meant as a personal attack (moreso if you may have said something to these effects in the past); it’s simply an attack on the logic behind them.
DEFENSES:
(1) "Has it ever occurred to you that someone might just be that good? / Or maybe they're just that good?" Statements like these are, to put it bluntly, passive-aggressive and condescending towards people who might have genuine grounds for suspicion. People weren't born yesterday; we're fully aware that people on the level of HPS, MaengZombie, nanoflower, REN, STK, SkisK… exist. (I've specifically excluded jack just because he's the low-hanging fruit and also to point out that if one’s only knowledge of a "good player" is jack, well… there’s a whole world out there).
But the reason people don't cast doubt on those players is because they have put in the effort to be deserving of that trust. Every one of the players I've mentioned has videographic evidence — YouTube, Twitter clips, the list goes on. They frequently compete to get world-first on APs, and they're well aware that if you do not have a video that shows your hands, your play means nothing. For example, tweets
purporting to show world-firsts on Six Trillion Years and Overnight Story were,
pretty much without exception,
disregarded by JP players when the user was silent on the question of handcams.
(The
first recognized AP of Six Trillion Years is from SkisK , at
1d 1h 19m after release.)
(A little aside: JP players can be pretty ruthless about cheaters. From the official JP Discord, I passed by
this message of someone posting a Yaminabe AP tweet with no proof on release day and was (not) surprised to see a slew of X-to-doubt reactions -- and, as with the tweet above which I had to resort to Wayback Machine to show you, it was later deleted presumably after getting called out.)
I also want to be clear on this: this also means that a player you don't expect CAN come out of nowhere and stake their claim on an achievement, as long as they have the proof to back their claim up. Here's a good example: the maxed score on Arcaea's hardest chart, Testify BYD, was achieved by a player (005saikou) who otherwise wasn't known for any other world-firsts! And — you guessed it — he
had an annotated video to back up his claim, commenting on which parts he thought was hardest, and other peculiarities of the chart.
There's a common counterargument to
(1) that goes something like
(2) "Well, maybe some people just don't want to show their hands / dox themselves / don't know how to record / etc." Let's do this point-by-point.
2a)
"...don't know how to record / not everyone has a second phone or camera to record handcams with..." The trial-and-error process required to reach the level of play we're talking about 99% demands the ability to record, review, and rewatch your play. Even if you're not going to post it, you almost certainly will have tried it at some point on the road to 33+ just for your own "where did I go wrong?" purposes.
This argument is also an insult to the intelligence of a player; recording ISN'T EVEN HARD. Recording is built-in on iOS. Recording on Android is as simple as typing "screen recorder app" into Google Play Store (or its equivalent, for Xiaomi and other no-Google builds) and downloading the first free option that doesn't have ads every 0.1 seconds. While screen recordings are less trustworthy than handcams because, well, you can’t see what the player is doing in order to
get that result, they’re trustworthy enough in conjunction with players who,
besides a recording, can talk about what, why, and how they do what they’re doing (more on this below).
As for handcams, please don't be intimidated by the fact that most well-known YouTubers have professional-looking, crisp 1080p setups: even a grainy 480p view is enough as long as it's clear you're not pretending to mash away while a bot automatically PERFECTs the 200BPM portions of Intense Voice. Google "handcam setups", or DIY one by cutting a slit at the top of a cardboard box and pointing a camera lens down while you play from the bottom (my preferred solution). I have seen players who record themselves using cheap $20 webcams not even clipped to anywhere stable, players who ask to borrow a family member’s phone or camera for a paltry five minutes… anything to be honest! For as many cheaters I’ve seen accused, I’ve also seen nearly as many people who put in the effort to be honest, which deserves a good mention.
Just about every case I know of someone who wasn't a cheater was willing to provide a handcam of some sort. It doesn't matter if they took 30 minutes, five hours, or three days — they came back and defended themselves. I've even seen it on the EN discord! The first instinct of a cheater, by contrast, is to either stay completely silent and let other people do the defending for them, or to get extremely defensive and use some of the many arguments here.
Incidentally, there are legitimate examples I know of of completely unknown players who pop up one day in Sekaicord with some godlike play, and the reason they were believed on the spot? Handcam. 2b) "...don't want to show their hands / dox themselves..." I suppose nothing can be done about that, but on this point I'd like to point out that Sekai is hardly the first (and will not be the last) rhythm game community to have doubters. This is frankly small-time compared to osu! players doing this like it's a JOB. And that comes down to a fundamental truth about rhythm games: difficult skill-based achievements have always had value because people SHOW they can be done. Consequently, if there is no proof, there is no value; if you're willing to make an outrageous claim; you best be prepared to show some outrageous play, or risk it not being worth anything at all.
There are other ways to show you clearly did what you're claiming to that don't involve a handcam, mind you — but they involve knowing what you're talking about, describing the chart / your strategies in detail, and, well, generally a certain level of passion about the intricacies of the game that most cheaters don't really seem to have, because they're only really here for the one fleeting shot at attention (mentioned this above already; skip to “spotting cheaters” below if you’re curious enough to know how).
Moving on…
(3) "But they posted a recording of…" Let me be clear on this point: I personally (and many others) are not wondering if they photoshopped a rainbow clear diamond on a song; anyone can do that in three minutes. I am also not wondering (and do not care) if someone has a recording of themselves scrolling through a list of songs with a shiny line of rainbow diamonds, because that
doesn't really mean anything if they cannot demonstrate the ability to repeat it (and that a bot didn't do it for them). On this point, most players aren't so letter-of-the-law obsessed as to demand a recording of a re-AP (understandable: players like
Mita Kousuke take months even to get a singular AP on What's up? Pop! and there's no guarantee the perfect moment will be caught on camera for most players) — I (and many others) just want to see a level of play that reasonably LOOKS like they can do what they’re claiming to have done. Put simply, I really just want to see someone’s fingers dancing where the notes are landing, not their hands flailing miserably against the glass screen while a bot does the actual playing.
What would "reasonable" look like? Take a look at the Mita video as an example. While he lists some of his current personal bests at the top, you'll find that the majority of these streams are him failing, sometimes incredibly early, sometimes amazingly -- but the overall level of play is high. Players who've just finished with a feat from the night before / day before / two hours / 30 minutes before don't "rust over". A few hours' rest (if necessary) for exhausted hands is almost always enough to show something approaching legitimate if the player in question
is legitimate -- again, no one's asking for a second AP.
(4) "You're just jealous!" And? So what if I am? Since when was emotion a valid reason to stop reading and avoid the possibility that even people driven by emotion can make valid points? But part of why this argument is unusually effective is because most aren't aware of the common patterns that drive cheaters, and so valid arguments are often dismissed as being down to jealousy if you're not aware of why some of these defenses for cheaters just don't stick.
Part of why I shared the context of where I come from with this was partly to dispel this argument. I've long since accepted that there are people much better than me, and I want to explain why people (who don't necessarily have that chance) react the way they do towards cheaters without resorting to ad hominems like this.
But never mind me. If me potentially being jealous is enough to discount it at my sub-33 skill level,
then would you believe the distaste for EN cheating if it came from the world-first AP on Kusaregedou to Chocolate? Incidentally, I assure you he's got nothing to be jealous of: after all,
he's going to Tokyo for Spring CS and rubbing shoulders with HPS and the rest of the Sekai gods. (5) "It's just a game, why would anyone cheat on Sekai?" If you've ever heard a variation of the common schoolyard boast (or jokes about it) "my dad works at Nintendo / Game Freak / Activision / [insert AAA video game company here]", the answer is: it’s for exactly the same reason immature people have lied since the dawn of society — attention and self-esteem. Of course they gain nothing from this, it is just a game, after all — but kids literally lie just to win arguments as petty and easily-forgotten as those in a schoolyard. Why would Sekai be the first skill-based game (of many, many rhythm games out there) immune to this?
(6) "It's just a game, calm down lol" I genuinely struggled to write an answer to this without getting a bit irritated; I’ve seen this so many times in so many places for so many wrong reasons. But what’s wrong with being passionate about a game? What’s wrong with wanting the pastime you settle into after a stressful day of work or school to be a fair playing ground? Why shouldn’t a game be taken seriously when competitive PvP games
fuel multi-billion industries, have university scholarships, and round-the-clock teams and sport scientists analyzing them, and
ignite the passions of people just as intensely as any “traditional” sport? “Because that’s esports, and this is just Sekai”? Here,
tell me you can’t feel the room shake when Mita APs Brand New Day live on stream.
What’s wrong with being passionate about something in the same way others, you included, are passionate about things besides Sekai – enough to be offended if someone said this exact same thing to you? What’s wrong with wanting fairness for one thing and not another?
(7) "Trust the cheat detection!" I hate to have to say this, I really do, but automated cheat detection for EN is TERRIBLE. It might not even exist. As evidence I'd like to point towards some of the more infamous cheaters: the T2 for Mesmerized by Mermaids in EN. There are some
pretty damning threads from long-time tierers that have explained the point in much more detail than I could eloquently say.
Now, this exact cheater was defended by someone using the exact same argument I'm about to reply to, and it's just as fallacious now as it was then.
Allow me to explain exactly why "trust the cheat detection" doesn't fly.
- T2, as the threads I've linked demonstrate, was clearly botting, and did so for the entire week the event ran. So why didn't the supposed "cheat detection" pick this up? Why was T2 allowed to play all the way until the EVENT ENDED? Why was the event title AWARDED to T2, denying the T4 (nara) the T3 as a result?
- The appeal to authority argument particularly disgusts me because of one thing: JP has had its own issues with cheaters of a different nature: those who share accounts so that they can tier 24/7 with no downtime. The example I know of is from Unnamed Harmony: not only did they outright
admit to account sharing (and insinuated that the t2 who lost was probably also cheating), they weren't banned. I use JP as an example for this reason: JP, which actually, proactively bans botters in Rank Match, still has cheaters that are left completely alone. How then, can you expect EN to have better scrutiny when even botters need a public outcry and a LOT of angry support desk mails just to get one T2 banned? (
oh, and come back, and get that account banned too, and admit to committing about 7k euros worth of chargeback fraud…) No offense, but EN can't even herd its official discord channels together; how am I supposed to believe they have time for botters?
T2 Mermaids is hardly the only example there is — only the most notorious one. But if even the cases of people high enough to be in the ranking spotlight take so much effort to call out (no thanks to people spouting uneducated defenses and convincing enough people), how much more botters who just roam the wilds with all perfects that show with 0 notes hit?
Put another way: why use a tiering cheater as an example for skill-based cheating when tiering skill boils down to whoever has the stamina to slap Envy for the longest time? Answer: they use the same tools. The person running around with an EmpErroR AP in public rooms may be doing it to show off, while a tiering cheater may be doing it so they doesn’t lose sleep or struggle the same way their competitors do, but the means are (almost) always the same: a machine does the work for them. And if the game isn’t banning one of them… how can you be confident they’re banning the other?
“Well, that was months ago! They’re better now, I hope!”
The proof is in the pudding. If you’re right, then I’d be happier than anyone else.
SPOTTING CHEATERS:
Besides the whole "they get really defensive" / [insert argument above] things listed above, there are a few more tells that really go a long way towards sniffing out a cheater, and I'd like to go over some of them here (since they didn't really fit naturally into the counterarguments presented above). I'll skip over directly critiquing their results in the case that a prospective cheater reads this and takes notes on how to avoid getting caught.
Now, a little disclaimer, for fairness: most of the posts I’m aware of don’t actually involve the cheaters themselves risking getting caught on here, and so the uses for such red flags may not be easily applicable. But all the same, they go hand-in-hand with the (fallacious) defenses for cheaters, and it’s important to know what you’re looking for when someone inevitably comes here asking why they got banned (for “no reason”) assuming EN is any trustworthy when Rank Match hits.
Keep in mind:
each of these ALONE does not mean someone is a cheater — it's when red flags like these, ALONG with refusing to provide videographic proof, come together, that someone becomes more and more suspicious.
(1) Unrealistic timeframes for improvement Let's not mince words here: the highest levels of Sekai are HARD. As in, it competes with "pure" rhythm games like Arcaea, Lanota, Phigros, Cytus, Dynamix, CHUNITHM, maimai, ONGEKI… levels of hard. Sekai itself is unusually hard for a popular rhythm game (sorry Tokyo 7th Sisters, no one knows you) with funny PNGs you roll and pay for, in a market where the closest competition (and therefore most people's previous frames of reference for existing difficulty) is Bandori or Enstars. And, well, no offense… but Bandori doesn't have six Hell or Hell SPs (and it took THIS long to release the 33+ specials…) and a release schedule that promises more every three months, like we're getting with Yaminabe and Jinsei. As for Enstars? Two years to release Awakening Myth and Seishun Emergency SP (and they’re only roughly as hard as ~32lv. Sekai charts).
What this results in are cheaters who grossly underestimate the time needed to get to Sekai's highest level. You might hear things like "i was up all night / week / month getting this omg my fingers are so tired". To use an example from sekaicord / experience: most players who commit to the improvement grind tend to find that they'll improve really quickly from 26 to 30 — and then hit a major wall at Lv31, where the difficulty then spikes exponentially. The average time it takes legitimate players to go from Lv31 to 32? Six months or more. 32 to 33? You'll be lucky or just insanely good if it takes you six months.
Anyone claiming to be the exception to this pattern, put simply, needs the proof. People are willing to believe someone’s good if they can see someone play good.
(2) Not recognizing patterns when questioned An actual story about a banned cheater from sekaicord: they claimed to have AP'd Don't Fight the Music on Master, and immediately fell through when people started asking them about patterns from other charts, including Hibana and KING. The issue? They were told that those patterns were from Don't Fight the Music. This is pretty much self-explanatory: you'd at least be expected to know the charts you're claiming to have beaten!
But besides that, people who have pulled off such feats (hell, pretty much anyone) always has a devil of their own. Everyone has That One Pattern they find, and which they hate. And if you're a devilish enough little Pattern (hello
Greenlights /
Bitter Choco Decoration), you'll be so absolutely evil that everyone will know you, not the other way around. Someone who picks out a pattern that is pretty obviously free to someone actually at that skill level OR doesn't have a least favorite pattern at all tends to stink from a mile away.
(3) Low-quality / vague explanations and/or misuse/lack of terminology/jargon A common trope in TV shows, video games, and so on is a smart character (usually a scientist) who launches into a convoluted explanation with a LOT of jargon you're not supposed to understand, before a character stops them and says you're making my brain hurt. While silly, this trope has some basis in the fact that people who are good at something tend to be really passionate about it, and often won't hesitate to explain in a lot of detail exactly how they pull off what they do. The same almost always goes for rhythm game players — it's common for people who have just conquered a chart in sekaicord
to follow up their FC / AP screenshot with a long-ass postmortem of the parts they hated the most, the strategy that finally got them through it, and pretty much everything in between.
As a cheater, it would be pretty difficult to emulate this. There's no adrenaline rush as you get through the part that you've been struggling on for weeks, possibly months, no sitting down staring at a chart viewer cursing the disgustingly hard part, no detailed "L-R-L-R(index)-R(middle)" big brain strategy just to pass something extremely cursed. There is nothing to explain. Most often, you will get "i was just shaking throughout it's all so hard", "uhhh i just mashed as hard as i possibly could" “go watch a video instead of bothering me” without reference to a specific pattern, and almost no way to describe their solution in terms any reasonably practiced regular would be familiar with. Did you jack this part here? Two fingers or multiple? Is there a BPM divisor that helps you get the rhythm down on this?
Let's go back to the 005saikou Arcaea example I mentioned earlier. Pretty much anyone at that level will have thoughts about their own achievements, and which parts they found hardest to conquer; look at the pinned comment (translation of the CCs) on his Testify video and see just how detailed they can get. I'm not saying everyone has to get to that level of detail, but someone with practically nothing to say about their achievements AND no video either is a serious red flag.
A brief conclusion
Why I took the time to write all of this is pretty simple: I would very much like if people were more aware of the players they're defending who don't deserve to be defended. Not only are there legitimate players out there much more deserving of your attention, but there's also a glut of illegitimate ones out there cruising along with the potential to make Ranked Match completely unplayable if we're just going to sit here and pretend it's not a problem. Perhaps you’re thinking it’s not going to be a problem for you if you only stay in Bronze / Silver / Gold / Plat. Good for you, but then that leaves Diamond and Mastery completely unplayable wastelands fit only for people who jump onto sites-that-shall-not-be-named for modded apps. Pretty much every time I talk to a JP player about EN and the prospect of ranked match, I universally hear back the words “cheating” and smell the implication that there’s no point to even touching it. There’s already so few legitimately skilled players on EN (let alone those who
aren’t simply imported / previously JP players) and the last thing EN needs is to drive those players away.
Genuine question: If the playerbase is capable of raising enough of a stink to get an entire event memory-holed out of existence (I have not forgotten RMD), please tell me why it's not possible to push the devs to take action on people who will undermine the legitimacy of an entire game mode? It's easy enough to ignore if you're just running around co-op getting event points and can forget about someone who's not playing the game, but in a game mode whose basis is a fair and even competition between two players, surely there's some reason to get them to do something.
Call me jealous, salty, misguided, whatever you want, but if at the end of the day this post has you thinking a bit more critically about why people can be so suspicious of others (and why it's more legitimate than just jealousy), then writing it will have been worth something. Please, don’t throw these words by the wayside, and keep a more critical eye out for the people you meet, be it in ordinary rooms, on social media, or, well… on Ranked Match. If you could do something about RMD, you can do something about cheaters.
If you’ve gotten this far, thanks for your attention and time.

2023.03.21 20:48 Filberto_ossani2 Question about Star Finger
How the hell it ties to Star Platinum's other abilities? It's not like when you are super strong, super fast or can stop time you suddenly get ability to extend your fingers
Other stands with multiple abilities [part 4 and part 5 spoiler] like Killer Queen or King Crimson have common theme of bombs or time while Star Finger feels off because main theme of Star Platinum is strength, precision and speed and even stopping time fits this theme better than Star Finger because I can imagine Star Platinum being so fast that everything around appears to be stopped in time
Star Finger just sticks out like a sore thumb [pun intended]

2023.03.21 20:47 Fuzzy-Pace1966 Theory on the Origin of the Chaos Gods
In the last book of the Horus Heresy, Samus tells us that with the fall of mankind, a fifth Chaos God named the Dark King will be born just as Slaanesh was born with the fall of the Eldar. The identity of this Chaos God can be discussed, but this made me think about the birth of the other three Chaos Gods.
We know with "fall", they don't mean extinction as there are still Eldar out there and (maybe) the Dark King was already born with Humans out there. Plus, the consensus says that Khorne, Tzeentch and Nurgle were born around the same time, maybe during the human middle ages (Though some say this has been retconned as it doesn't makes much sense). Another theory says they were created during the War in Heaven, which in my opinion has much more logic.
So, my theory is that Chaos Gods are born when a major species falls and embody the "sin" of the culture/ What led them to fall.
Khorne: Khorne was born with the fall of the Krorks. This is the one that makes more sense to me. Krorks began infighting just as the Eldar began f***ing, this led to them involutioning into modern-day Orks. Probably even a bigger "fall" than that the Eldar suffered and the emotion associated was love for War and melee. Result: Khorne is born.
Nurgle: Nurgle was born with the fall of the Necrontyr. Some race of terminal patients that because of this sickness decided to go trough the biotransference becoming the Necrons and losing their souls ("Falling"). What led them to fall was sickness (Nurgle). A case can also be made for Tzeentch being born this way. The sin of the necrons was not accepting being who they were and changing it for the worse, because they hoped becoming something better. Tzeentch is born.
Tzeentch: Tzeentch was born with the fall of the Old- Ones. This is the harder one to justify. But the fall of a psychic species which changes some races (Eldar & Krork) to fight for them in a War sounds somehow Tzeetch-ish to me.
¿What do you think of this theory?, ¿Is there something I missed that would make it make little sense? I'd apreciate the feedback

2023.03.21 20:45 Jymmy_Jahnsun A Detailed Breakdown on Why Plesioth is The Worst Thing on The Fucking Planet
WARNING: VERY LONG RANT AHEAD, SKIP TO TLDR IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ IT ALL
A lot of people hate Plesioth, me included of course. But if you ask someone why they hate Plesioth they'll usually only bring up the most memorable thing about him, the hipcheck. But there is so much more to him that can be said.
We will start with Plesioth's body. Being a piscine wyvern, even smaller plesioth will stand taller than the average flying wyvern. This means that most of the time you will be striking at the legs. For hammers and hunting horns, you will miss out on headshots unless the head is lowered to attack, and for shorter range weapons you may spend the entire fight hitting the legs, this is very annoying, as unlike brute wyverns Plesioth takes considerable damage to topple. And even if you topple plesioth that takes us to our second issue.
The way Plesioth moves on land is like that of well, a fish out of water. He is the floppiest, most spastic motherfucker I have had the misfortune of fighting. His attacks sometimes come without warning and when toppled he will not stay still, opting to instead flop around like a retard. This leaves his head and tail almost impossible to consistently hit. So you'll probably end up just hitting him in the legs while he's down.
And now, I will describe all of Plesioth's attacks. Because they are all bad. First is his water beam, which has three variations, straight beam, swimming beam, and crescent beam. Straight beam is easy to punish, while crescent beam lifts his head EVEN FUCKING HIGHER. Swimming beam sucks because he spends a few minutes being completely untouchable before MAYBE jumping out of the water, but he's more likely to just beam you. Next up are his physical attacks, the hipcheck, the land swim, and the tail slap. We will start with the tail slap, the little fucking spines on his tail will somehow always hit you, even if you are completely out of the way, making this attack hard to avoid, and harder to punish when he decides to spam it. The land swim turns his entire body into a hit box, and comes out with no warning whatsoever, if you try to dodge he will follow you, because go fuck yourself this Plesioth. Finally, it's the attack of the hour, the hipcheck. This move is rightfully despised, it hits like a truck, and despite having a short window to get away, if he starts it while you are near his legs you can't do much to avoid getting hit. There is a good reason the Plesioth Hipcheck is memed to death.
All in all, I really don't like this guy, and his gear doesn't really look cool either, with the exception of his hammer and HBG. And I found that writing this was a very cathartic experience.
TLDR: Plesioth is an annoying fucking fish that wants to slap you with his thighs and the only thing you can do in retaliation is weep.

2023.03.21 20:41 judgemenot101 Do I(40m) just need to accept that cunnilingus with my wife (37f) is out of the cards?
A comment I made another post made me think of this but my wife and I have been married for 17 years. We both were raised in the Mormon religion, which is an extremely conservative, sexually repressive culture. Her upbringing was significantly worse than mine in that regard. I was 23 and she had just turned 20 when we married and of course were both virgins. We knew nothing about sex or healthy conversations about it. In fact, prior to our marriage, I went to the book store to read some sexual health books and when she found out, I thought she was going to call off the wedding because she thought I was a pervert. Well, we left the religion nearly two years ago and we have been working on processing all of our religious trauma and rethinking everything about what we were taught, including intimacy and sexuality. With this, I’ve been slowly slowly warming her up to the idea of incorporating oral sex. Just to be clear, I consider my self an extremely giving, respectful lover and will always seek consent before we do anything “new”. I let her know frequently how beautiful her pussy is and to me oral sex is outward display of my desire for her and to be as physically intimate with her as possible. On the occasion when she does let me go down on her, I am soft, gentle, and mindful of her reactions. But normally she just clenches her thighs together and is very guarded of her vulva and oral lasts for 20-30 seconds. Only during oral though. During PIV sex, she will ride me like a rodeo girl. On the last time I went down on her I was talking her through what I was doing, kissing her gently, caressing her, telling her to lie back and relax as I lifted her legs slightly to open her up. She told me that when I lift her legs like that, all she can think about is being at the gynecologist. I joked “does the gyno do what I was doing to you??” We laughed and eased the tension and moved on to PIV sex.. but is it time for me to accept that this just isn’t going to be a part of our intimacy?

[F4A] Fantasy Foundation, Highly Adaptable Scene where the sky is the limit!~
{Hiya! This is an older scene I used to do, so it's not the best prompt but I can promise you it's highly adaptable! I love taking this scene in as many directions as possible so if you have an idea or a character you'd like to fit in please just add it in your message! I'm extremely open minded, and love talking things out, so please, feel free to message me even if all you have is a theme or concept you'd like to chase after!~}
The sun had finally set on the town stained red with the putrid, stagnant blood of the hours before, an atmosphere that should have lead to an painfully uncomfortable tension and sense of dread hanging over the town. The small town located fae from any major city, located all the way out in the boonies, the people of the town had enjoyed an almost perfect existence away from the bustle and the politics of the kingdoms powerhouse cities, with the closest the town ever getting to weighing in on global events was the ever frequent platoon of troops appearing to scout and draft new recruits for the kings army, yet the town knew that if this was the price to pay for their simple way of life, it'd be one they'd gladly take. This was not to say the town was free of problems, with it's own sub culture and a plethora of races calling the town home, it wasn't a perfect society but it was theirs nonetheless.
However, peace in times like these never trully lasted long, as ambushes on traders and muggings became a part of their everyday life, it was only long before the culprits became dissatisfied with the scraps they could manage to snatch from the various merchants, and set their sights on sieging the town itself. Even though a bandit with a conscience made it into the town square to give the people warning, their was only so much a town with not enough true soldiers and barely enough men to put every weapon they had to use. Even though this thought would be clear to any outsider or even any onlooker with any sense of logic, the town bowed their heads and banded together for the oncoming slaughter. Barricades were set up in the town square and every person who either couldn't hold a weapon or couldn't afford to be lost in battle held up in the middle of the town offering whatever aid they could as the bandits finally descended on the town.
The young women dressed in white and adorned with intricate and almost hypnotic golden lining was to no surprise to anyone, not from the small town. Ophelia herself had been raised by the church, with not a single memory left of anything that came before her time as part of the doctrine, with the church and the faith being all she had ever known since such a young age. The girl had been raised as a part of a programme, belonging to a very specific sect of the church to raise a new generation of exemplary figures to lead and carry out the will of their lord throughout the land, being not only well versed in every religious text and passage their was, but also being trained in a passable level of combat along with the church's own ever elusive branch of holy magic.
Even though she had never had much choice in the matter, Ophelia's fairh was pure and unwavering, never having had it brought into question, and it was this sole fact that allowed her to rise through the church swiftly as an example of what true faith and commitment could lead too. Her faith led her to becoming a strong willed, fiery member of the cloth who's use of holy miracles and incantations could scarcely be rivalled by only the bishops themselves of the church, allowing her to join a sub-section of the church known as the inner-choir, a rank similar to that of a cardinal priest in status yet without the title itself, allowing the general public to acknowledge them as pillars of the order but not all in the church could say the same.
Ophelia had only spent the lesser part of a week with the town, with it being one of the few stops on her journey that she was specifically told to take note of and assess the town on a more personal and real level than any real census could. It was the kindof task that she found herself being given on top of any other work that her brothers and sisters of the clergy were tasked with. Not that she ever complained, having lived a sheltered life being raised by the church in to the shining beacon of light that the world could see her as.
The town had welcomed her with open arms, allowing her to take refuge in their chapel with everyone offering a warm welcome to the young girl. It was never part of her job, but she always made a point to talk and introduce herself to as many of the town's people as she could, hearing their struggles and doing everything in her power to aid them and pass on whatever blessings she had at her disposal. She was the talk of the town, and she loved to hear the stories and fables of the towns culture, becoming absorbed and obsessed with learning and hearing as much about their own little secluded world as she could.
It would be hard to say that the young girl being there on that day, lending her aid in both combat and healing of the wounded, didn't have a drastic effect on the outcome of the day. Her prowess allowed the fatalities to stay low and for the towns rag-tag militia to keep fighting until the ruthless bandits retreated for now, leaving there casualties in the streets to the roars of celebration from the town. Now, even on a day that should be treated solemnly and respectfully, the entire town was in celebration over their survival and the grit they had shown today. People took to the streets, the fields and most importantly the taverns to let the world know that they would not be crushed that easily.
Now Ophelia sat, at a table with her travel companion and bodyguard, a man who was there more for company than anything else as the table top was cluttered with a plethora of drinks and plates of food that had been bought for her, thanks from the town as she hungrily wolves down bowl after bowl to bring her energy back so she can return to tending the wounded before she collapses for the day. She barely got a minute to enjoy herself, between bites groups of people at a time would come up to thank her and offer her tokens and praise, as she gladly accepted their kind words, giving her work that feeling of purpose that she had always strived for.
The only thing that bothered the girl was a new face in the tavern, someone that she couldn't place from her walks of the town, congregation or even the battle that happened prior, which confused the girl greatly as she felt the eyes on her every now and then. The face dissapeared eventually as she shook her head, returning to her food as her bodyguard gets up to speak to a few of the men that he had met earlier, as the girl is now left alone to her devices as she continues with her food, her mind still trying to place the face she had just seen.

2023.03.21 20:36 Worth_Substance6590 Is it unreasonable of me to ask my husband to get rid of some of his beehives?
My husband has 7 beehives in our backyard. For context, each hive has 60,000-80,000 bees in it. When it’s warm, there are usually a few dozen bees hovering around each hive? And they spend all day flying around searching for flowers and water. I can’t sit or walk outside without at least 1 bee landing on me and many many more flying around me. I used to be afraid of them but not so much anymore.
Last summer my husband was stung randomly 3 times. I’ve never been stung just being in the backyard.
Now we have a 7 month old baby and I want to be able to spend time outside and in our garden. But, it’s obviously full of bees. So I just stay inside. I don’t know if LO is allergic and I just don’t want him to get stung.
I’d be fine with 2 or 3 hives. But not 7. We have property upstate that we visit once or twice/month that we can move them to. But he likes having them here so he can inspect them and feed them if necessary.
The other thing is we have chickens, geese and a rooster. I hate the rooster bc he’s aggressive and has 2 inch spurs that can cut a deep gash in your leg if you turn your back to him. My husband insists on releasing the birds every morning to let them roam the whole yard, as opposed to being in their coop, which is quite big with an indoor and outdoor area. So if I want to go outside or go to my car I have to either carry the hose with me to spray him if he attacks me, or distract them with food on one side of the yard while I run out of the yard to my car. With my baby in my arms.
My husband says I just need to not be afraid of the rooster. His mom tolerates being outside with the birds by carrying a rake just in case. But I’ve been attacked before and it honestly sucks. I feel like I’m living in fear in my own home.
Am I being dramatic? What can I do here?
