Ich finde ja Kreativität mit Knete immer toll für Kinder. Und Play-Doh perfektioniert ja das Marketing mit Sets für Eis-Fabrik, Friseur, Zahnarzt, Burger-Laden und was weiß ich nicht noch.
Immer wenn ich diese Sets sehe, habe ich nur Bilder farblich vermengter Knetstücke, die dann eine hässliche Farbe bilden im Kopf.
Einmal vor einigen Jahren habe ich ein Eis-Set gekauft und war genervt, weil die MEchanik, mit der man die Knete aus dem "Automaten" drücken sollte, um Softeis zu erstellen a) unglaublich schwerfällig bis gar nicht ohne rohe Gewalt ging und b) das ganze aus so dünnem Plastik bestand, dass man es mit erwähnter Roher Gewalt nach kurzem Benutzen vermutlich kaputt gemacht hätte. Daraufhin entstand ein generelles Problem, da mir die Marktleitung mitteilte, der Sticker wäre als, die Aktion seit einem Jahr abgelaufen. Da dies aber nirgends stand und ich die Eis-Fabrik tatsächlich deswegen gekauft habe, habe ich dann einen Mail-Streit "aus Prinzip" begonnen und am Ende tatsächlich mein Geld über einen umständlichen Check via Post erhalten. Damit war das Thema für mich erstmal geklärt.
Nun kommt Ostern, meine Kinder (5 und 8) sind recht kreativ und ich stolpere gerade über diverse Angebote von Play-Doh-Sets. Daher frage ich mich.... gibt es denn tatsächlich GUTE Sets und spielen eure Kinder auch damit?

Beste allen,
Op dit moment heb ik een redelijke spaarpot opgebouwd en ik merk dat gezien de stakingen ik nu toch wel vaak meer dan 2 uur onderweg ben (enkele reis). Dit is natuurlijk niet goed vol te houden en een auto zou dit probleem goed kunnen verhelpen.
Ik ben meer wiskundig en technisch onderlegd, maar ik heb vrij weinig verstand van auto’s en het maakt mij ook niet zo heel veel uit wat voor auto ik rijd, als het maar rijdt.
Mijn observaties zijn als volgt, als ik op gaspedaal alle auto’s een beetje analyseer, dan lijkt het dat de grootste kostenpost afschrijvingen zijn, variërend van model. Ik zit eraan te denken om die kosten als eerst te verminderen. Dus eigenlijk, zou ik een 3 of 4 jaar oude auto moeten kopen (dus 2023). Echter, heb ik nog wel enkele vragen die ik niet op basis van wat data eruit kan halen.
1) Is het beter om benzine, elektrisch of hybride te nemen?
Hybride: Ik zie bijv. een verschil in de prijzen, hybride zijn ongeveer gemiddeld 3k – 5k duurder. Als ik bijv. hybride neem, dan kost het mij (rekenen met 1 op 23 (hybride) vs 1 op 18 (benzine) en benzineprijs van 2.20 EUR per liter, dan bespaar ik ongeveer 0.09565217 EUR per km, om de investering van 3k goed te maken moet ik minimaal 32k meer rijden). Uiteraard, als wij met 1 op 21 voor hybride rekenen is het ruim 47.7k km en bij een prijs van 1.8 EN 1 op 21, dan komen wij uit op 58.3k km dat ik meer moet gaan rijden.
Elektrisch: die korting van 2k EUR, is op zich wel goed, echter de prijzen voor elektrische auto’s zijn dermate hoog, dat ze ongeveer 5-10k duurder zijn dan benzineauto’s. Daarnaast hebben vrij weinig auto’s een bereik van meer dan 450km. Daarnaast heb ik geen eigen parkeerplaats voor mijn huis en is het een openbare parkeerplaats en is er volgens mij ook niet altijd een laadpaal beschikbaar. Ik vraag mij dus af hoe ik dit probleem kan oplossen, ik wil niet elke keer 30 minuten bij een laadpaal staan wachten of als ik de hele avond aan de laadpaal sta, in de ochtend de auto weg zetten zodat anderen mensen ook kunnen laden.
Benzine: ik verwacht eerlijk gezegd dat de benzineprijzen omhoog gaan (vanwege het verminderen van CO2 uitstoot) en dat de prijzen van elektrische auto’s naar beneden. Hierdoor daalt de waarde van benzineauto’s ook, maar zal geen nul zijn, omdat je het altijd zou kunnen exporteren naar andere landen buiten de EU.
2) Automaat of handgeschakeld?
Bij elektrisch en hybride heb je dan ook altijd een automaat. Mijn vriendin die schakelt het liefst automaat, maar om 5k EUR meer te betalen hiervoor kan ik dan beter een hybride nemen. Echter, ben ik ook beetje huiverig dat ik handschakelingen verleer.
3) Wat zijn de onderhoudskosten van een auto?
Een ander groot punt zijn de onderhoudskosten, deze gegevens zijn niet beschikbaar online volgens mij. Echter, zeggen velen dat ze bijv. dat ze met de Tesla bijna geen onderhoudskosten kwijt zijn. Klopt dit? Of zijn jullie ervaringen anders? Sommigen zeggen dat Tesla’s juist wel heel veel onderhoud vereisen en dat ik alleen bij Tesla zelf de auto kan onderhouden.
Bij hybride, weet ik eigenlijk niet zo goed wat de onderhoudskosten zijn, maar het lijkt mij dus extra hoog, want je hebt beste van beide werelden. Bij benzine auto moet je volgens mij maar mazzel hebben, maar auto’s die in 2019 zijn gemaakt zullen vast nog niet zo heel veel onderhoud nodig hebben de komende 5-10 jaar (als ik een Toyota neem bijv.).
4) Kan ik daarom dus beter een zo goedkoop mogelijke auto kopen (ik zou nl. wel parkeersensoren willen, ben nl. niet zo’n ster met parkeren) of is er nog een casus voor een iets duurdere auto?

Hello Steven! First of all, thank you for writing OG2. It's an astonishing book that has helped me a lot in my bodyweight training!
A short background: I have trained at gym for many years, when covid pandemic hit and gyms closed I decided to explore bodyweight training. Loved it so much that when gyms opened I decided to stick with bodyweight for upper body, while going back to weights for lower. I started with the recommended routine and made good progress. Later I bought your book and constructed my own routine, that looked just like the recommended routine but substituted chin ups and dips for pull ups and pike push ups.
I started this year with a hypertrophy focus for upper body and increased volume by adding a push and a pull per workout, so 3 push and pull for 3 sets each of 5-8 reps totalling 9 sets. Lower body volume has been unchanged. This worked well for the first mesocycle, as I started the second stronger. During the second I stalled and started the third mesocycle weaker. Mid third cycle I got problems with sleep, fatigue, legs felt heavy all the time so I did my recovery week earlier followed by a week of complete rest and now I feel much better again. So the lesson from my hypertrophy attempt was that it was too much workload and not enough recovery for my ability. The hypertrophy focus worked though, as I have made visual progress in my upper body. Both my girlfriend (who of course is biased) and friends have commented on my body composition progress. Anyway, now I need to go back to a workload that I can handle and a routine that incorporates what I liked from my hypertrophy routine. The routine i followed 3 times per week looked like this, with 3 sets per exercise and 5-8 reps:
chin ups pike push ups FL row progression pppu pull ups dips
I liked the 3 push and pull structure as it had both pike push ups and dips. I was also thinking about progressing with weights for chin ups and progressing with higher pulls for pull ups. Reducing sets to 2 per exercise would total 6 sets per push and pull, which has worked well for me before. the possible downside is imbalance between vertical and horizontal pull. I have had imbalance in my gym training and horizontal pull has significanty improved shoulder and back health for me.
Another option I thought of is an A and B full body split, looking like this 3 times per week:
Workout A: chin ups pike push ups FL row progression pppu
Workout B: FL row progression pppu pull ups dips
This would be balance between vertical and horizontal pull. However frequency of pike push ups and dips would be 1,5 times per week. A solution to increase push frequency could be to also include a workout C:
pull up dips FL row progression pike push ups
This would increase frequency of pike push ups and dips to 2 times per week. but from what I understand it is better using the same workout template as much as possible with full body routines?
So as the title says, my main question is: Using my hypertrophy training template as a starting point and modifying it, would it be better with reducing sets or reducing exercises? I train 3 times per week, occasionally missing one due to life circumstances but it is quite rare. For that reason I prefer full body training and I did the same when training in the gym. I haven't listed lower body training but it is included and my question is only about upper body. I am not asking about a new hypertrophy focused routine, as I am looking for a new starting point with general strength and hypertrophy for a while. My next hypertrophy focus attempt I will maybe try something else than what I did, or I will try what I did again and see how it goes.
Additional questions:
1 - Pppu with feet at shoulder vs hand level. I understand that if planche is the goal then elevated feet is superior. But if general strength and hypertrophy is the only goal, does it matter? I find that feet at hand level is significantly harder at bottom while feet elevated is significantly harder at top. I find it hard to decide which variation to include, since achieving a planche is not a goal for me at the time.
2 - Leaning dips and pppu. I have started doing leaning dips and wonder if they, due to the lean, have the same strength and hypertrophy effect as pppu? As the progression is more lean, do they over time accomplish the same thing, perhaps the dip even starting to look more like a planche push up variation?

What is the advantage of bond ETFs, where the value of your investment can drop, vs just buying bonds directly? If I buy bonds through a broker presumably I know for sure that my capital is safe and after X time I'll receive X percent. With the fluctuating prices of bond ETFs though, I'm not sure how it works.
For example, how do I know how long I would need to keep my capital in EUNA to guarantee my capital and what determines the yield?
EDIT: According to ChatGPT, the average term to maturity of the bonds in this ETF was approximately 8 years as of Sep 21. If I invested now and that remained the same, would I be guaranteed my capital + yield in approx 8 years, as a rough example?

I have leftover welded wire and t posts I used to make a dog run. The wire is 5 ft and I have a spot that gets full sun until 5:30, then dappled sun until sundown, which is like 8 for us. I'm in zone 8 in Fort Worth. I've never had a whole lot of luck with tomatoes in my native AZ but I'm excited to try my hand again in a new state.
Either way I only want to do one plant as the humidity has me worried about disease and I will likely have one central stem and get rid of all the suckers - so I'll be doing the twining method regardless.
I wouldn't have to buy anything more to go the trellis route whereas with the string method I'd have to purchase 2 pvc elbows a length of rebar and possibly landscaping staples but I'm not sold on the necessity of that last one. But anyways! Not much.
I do want to reuse this setup for cucumbers, peas, beans, perhaps a nasturtium or another nice vining flower in the future so please weigh that into your vote. I especially would like to hear from folks who've done both and see what they did or didn't like about both of them!
Tdlr: metal trellis vs cotton string. Tomatoes and other vining friends in the future. Zero monies vs a lil monies.

Hey everyone,
This isn't really a "feedback" post as much as it is just an observation from a noob.
This sub is clearly very passionate about Diablo and I love that, despite the "this is broken" vs "duh it's a beta" posts getting flung around. I have never played a Diablo game before trying the open beta this weekend, and let me tell you, those two days really sucked me in.
When you compare this Diablo 4 beta to the beta versions of other games, it really is very polished and it didn't feel like I was even playing a game that was in beta for 99% of the time I was online. I've played a handful of popular games in beta before - some WoW expansions, Rust, PUBG, The Forest (and Sons of the Forest) etc, and believe me none of those games were as clearly polished as Diablo 4 seems to be. The performance is great, the bugs are already minimal and the gameplay quality is top notch.
I loved it so much that I bought Diablo 3 yesterday and played it for like 8 hours when I got back from work. My witch doctor doesn't hit the same as my necromancer in the D4 beta and I miss the skill trees already.
I just wanted to remind you guys from fresh eyes that, although some things need to be tweaked, this is the first real beta I've played in as long as I can remember. The term 'beta' is thrown around a lot nowadays and a lot of game designers are just releasing games in beta because they're behind schedule and they want the money to start flowing in - this didn't feel like that, this felt like a legitimate beta test to tweak an already nearly complete game.
I first booted a Diablo game 4 days ago and I've just booked 3 days off work for the release. Haven't been this hyped for a game since they released Classic WoW, and I can't wait to see the storyline develop alongside my fellow grinders. o/

 | I saw some questions recently about degradation, and wanted to show my battery report via TeslaFi. Anyone seeing swings like this? submitted by fihdolla_footlong to ModelY [link] [comments] I was very concerned about that big plunge, then found info about cycling the battery to recalibrate it, and have brought it back from almost 260 at the low to nearly 300 again. Some of that could be weather related too of course, but as an overall battery health measure, it sure looks like re-calibrating works well. Don’t know how y’all are getting that green line fleet average though.. 🤔 |
