*Definitions and Assumptions * 1. Breeding dogs for profit with no regard for the condition in which the dogs live or how they are cared for is an act of animal cruelty.

1. The registration of individuals or corporations that breed dogs for profit is necessary to prevent the cruel treatment of dogs, to prevent bred dogs that end up in shelters from being euthanized at a financial cost to local and state governments, and to prevent the emotional suffering of individuals and families that experience the unethical and bad business practices of some dog breeders.
   
2. A “breeding female” is defined any un-spayed female over the age of 6 months.
   
3. A dog breeder is anyone who owns such a dog and offers any puppy from her for sale or trade.
   
4. A breeding facility is any location where a breeder has at least one breeding female.
   
5. Any “breeding female” is assumed to be used for breeding purposes unless the breeder can convince the Department of Agriculture otherwise.
   

Under this bill: - Breeders with one or more breeding females must apply for a breeding certificate from the Department of Agriculture with an annual fee not exceeding $500. - Breeder’s facilities must be inspected and facilities must meet federal regulations. - Limitations on the number of breeding females per breeder are included but as yet unspecified. - Limitations on the number of times a female can be bred annually are included but as yet unspecified. - All dog breeders’ certificate of registration information would be published on a website for the public to see. - Dogs may be seized, without compensation, from a breeder’s home (“breeding facility”) if inspectors—who can be any “person, municipality, county or organization”–conclude the facility is not in compliance. - All dogs must be microchipped. When a breeding female dies, a notarized letter from a licensed veterinarian noting the cause of death must be submitted to the Department of Agriculture.

My grandfather was on the ms Zuiderdam and took ill. They provided some medical care on board, but they forced him to get off the ship in Luanda, Angola on March 21. They sent him to a clinic in Angola and refused to let him back on board the ship. My family has spent the last week trying to get him medically evacuated from Angola and flown home for adequate medical care.
He passed away yesterday, March 29, alone in a hospital in Angola. We are now beginning the arduous process of repatriating his remains.
My family is looking for any guidance you might have in navigating this terrible situation. We’ve been in contact with the generic HAL support lines, insurance companies, and the embassy - all to little avail.

Today I had a second interview with the department manager for a PPC specialist role at a late eCommerce company. The first interview I had with the recruiter went super well. However, this interview was pretty bad. Not in that I didn’t know what I was talking about because I felt as though I did, but it was because the manager who was interviewing me just sucked at asking questions. They seemed emotionally detached from wanted to at least try to get to know me or build rapport. I’m just saying if I was interviewing someone who was going to be on my team I would try and get to see what they are about in terms of emotional intelligence instead of asking questions off an agenda.
While I really felt like I had a shot at this job, now I feel like I don’t because of this which sucks.

With the current proliferation of television series based around the weird, the paranormal and the just plain psychotic, last season's premiere of Profiler distinguished itself by being the most recognizably human. While X-Files agents Scully's and Mulder's characters remain about as multidimensional as holograms and the lead character on Millennium looks creepier than most of the killers he tracks, FBI profiler Sam Waters (Ally Walker) has the intelligence, warmth and depth of a fully drawn woman.
Created by writer Cynthia Saunders, the pilot established the main characters and the nature of the crimes they'd be dealing with. Originally set in the Atlanta Police Department, executive producers Kim Manners and Ian Sander worked with Saunders on the script so that by the end of the pilot Bailey Malone (Robert Davi) and Waters would head up the Violent Crimes Task Force operating under the auspices of the FBI.
"We had to figure out how to give the show legs," Manners explains, "so that's why we created the task force. Atlanta is a small jurisdiction, and being under federal auspices made it so that they could work all over the country. And as far as cases, they get the most complicated, most gruesome and the most technical."
One distinctive element of the show that wasn't written on the page was what is termed "Sam Vision"--a quick flash of images that are meant to visualize Waters' intuitive flashes as a trained profiler. The visions, which were created in post-production by Manners and Sander, have led to what the writers feel is a misconception that Waters is a psychic. "What she's seeing," Sander explains, "is not what's coming in the future. It's what she's surmised as a forensic psychologist and a cop. From our point of view we prefer that she's not clairvoyant because it makes the stories more difficult to write and execute. There are a lot more traps if there has to be a logic in how she got from A to B."
Although Manners and Sander will begin to contribute episodes for the coming season, the first year's scripts were written by the staff with collaboration and input from the two executive producers. Being a regular viewer of the show, I was a little apprehensive, but morbidly anticipating sitting down with the staff. What would people who sit around and think up stories about serial killings down to the most minute detail look and act like? Thankfully, they looked and acted like most TV writers (except for the one guy in Heaven's Gate black Nike running shoes--but it was probably just coincidence). The human elements of the series--Waters' relationship with her daughter, Malone's difficulties with his teenage she-rebel, the friendships and divisions between the members of the task force--have been developed by this team of writers: co-executive producers George Geiger and Steve Feke, executive story editor Bob Lowry, story editor Sibyl Gardner, writeproducer Charles Holland and consulting producer Dee Johnson.
According to Feke, "We don't want to write a series that requires week-to-week tune-in, but we do want there to be continuing stories for our characters. So we still put the emphasis on our A story--the crime that's going to be resolved. The deepest challenge is finding room inside of complicated stories that require a lot of scenes and finding room to keep the personal stories going." For Holland, "The more emphasis we put on the personal story the more it enriches the show in the sense that this show is scary. You're supposed to be scared of what's going to happen, not just to the victims but of what's going to happen to our folks."
Because of the complexity of the stories, Lowry states, "We work together a lot more than we work apart. We cross-check each other so that we're certain we haven't made any mistakes. I think the amalgamated talents of this staff combine to find a way to make a show that will be unique--something fresh for the audience to see that's not an X-Files or Walker: Texas Ranger." Gardner agrees: "Our strength as a team comes from who we are as people. We all have very different perspectives on life and the world and human relations."
So how do their personal world views come into play while writing? "I was doing research on serial killers and I noticed a lot of women were in love with Richard Ramirez and wanted to marry him. I thought, 'What's up with that?' And it was in exploring that psychology that created an episode." says Holland.
"I don't think that this show is about the FBI or profiling at its deepest level," he continues. "People read the paper and they see that some guy killed somebody and stuffed him in the trunk of the car; this guy keeps heads in his refrigerator. And they think, 'Why would somebody do that?' We spend all our time figuring that out and that's what really turns me on."

I have a bunch of 720x400, h.265, mp4 videos, and vlc on my desktop plays them with garbled video (mostly green snow) as shown in the example. My linux laptop with similar software does not have this issue. (To my knowledge, all other types of videos play fine). Oddly, mpv has the same issue; however, smplayer with mpv as the engine does not! Besides smplayer, ffplay, mplayer, celluloid, and parole all play the videos fine. Some system info:

I've played with many of vlc's video mode settings, but nothing seems to improve the picture. Any idea of what is the matter and/or how to fix it?

So I recently applied to three positions at a regional jail...One of which was brought to my attention on Indeed via a supposed recruiter.
It's been over two weeks since I applied with zero contact from anyone who works there. I attempted to reach out to see what the status was but there's virtually no phone numbers online for HR. Just the standard jail telephone system that tells you about dress codes,how to put money in inmates accounts etc. I even reached out to other jails and criminal related departments to see if they had some sort of contact info , but nothing..
Today I saw that all the jobs had been renewed on Indeed...not the first time that's happened. I once saw Walmart post positions for asset protection, to which I applied,did an interview, sat at a clinic for 3 hours for a piss test , only to never hear back. The jobs had been taken down so I assumed they'd found someone. However, within a week the jobs were relisted, so obviously it didn't work out.
That said, should I be relieved that the jail position isn't going to work out ? Obviously if there's no extensions or emails available they don't want you reaching out to them. It kinda makes me wonder if the work environment is stable or just pure chaos.

Something doesn’t feel right? Thoughts?
I’ve been at my job a year. I investigate allegations of impropriety basically.
The story :
During onboarding and the first month we were told we were going to get mentors and see how other investigators worked through their allegations. By mid July this still hadn’t occurred nor did we walk through an entire case with management.
I went on medical leave and came back mid September. I asked in a team meeting for group training that was denied and a crash period of closing cases which ended in Mid October. Still no full case walkthrough. Management refuses to put case steps in writing “they want us to think critically”
By November my boss tried to help me prioritize my cases and scheduled meetings to walk through them and then wound up never coming to two of the meetings.
That same month we met about my tip times that went back and forth into QA. (My manager reviewing my work.)
By November 30th I had 59 cases in QA that had not been reviewed. Which messed w my metrics (I also had been struggling to meet them alone w/o this hurdle.)
In the beginning of December i was instructed to take my cases back in order to add a piece of background info which had never been discussed before. When I asked for more systems to research this item that request was denied. At times we would wait months for cases to get reviewed by management. So I was one not understanding the process and two, mot getting consistent thorough feedback. There was not an extensive documentation process for QA until the middle of December.
It is hard to get an answer from management that are consistent and clear. All of the instructions are given with caveats. I have asked for these to be written down and was told “there isn’t a process like that in this kind of work.”
In December I asked for ADA accommodations, so exclusive documentation for our side of the team, extra time and a full tip walkthrough and mentoring. I got that by end of January. (Also at the end of Jan was diagnosed w a different learning disability.) In the first week of February I got added to new hire training (they are finally doing six week training for new people.) Throughout February I worked through my remaining cases and by end of February had common review.
I was told no bonus, not meeting expectations or metrics. Was rated a 1 for turn around time even though my boss had cases for months.
In the first week of March the official ADA paperwork was finalized. They said they had already done my mentorship request, extra time was denied, and the documentation is already there (it is not, it’s for the side of the team that does field work.)
I asked management about turn around times and if my manager keeping my work counted against me. I got pulled into a mtg where I was told it does but I still had my cases for too long. I was also asked if I thought I was a fit. I said it has been a struggle but I have a better idea of the process since the shadowing and there was a learning curve.
The director insisted there is no learning curve because I’ve been here a year. I asked HR for the paperwork my neurologist sent in, it says I have concentration/communication issues and need more time to process and written communication is preferred so I can reference it.
Sounds like a learning curve to me. They told me in this meeting I was not a fit and asked if I had started looking for other jobs outside of the department within the company. They said the shadowing work was what they would do if I was on a corrective action plan and my score on my common review, basically meant a corrective action plan was warranted. They said they were not putting me on one however.
That afternoon my boss sent me a career resource for looking for internal positions within the company. I said based on our conversation earlier that I assumed it would be harder to move within the company since I was on a “soft“ correction plan - she emailed back and said that I was not on a corrective action plan and the website was just in case I wanted to look.
I find it very fishy that two months after I asked for accommodations I am being told that I am not a fit and basically being pushed out of the department. I asked for help through the proper channels and have documentation from my doctor that says I learn differently, and they are not doing anything sufficient enough to help me. When I got the job, I signed that I would return my bonus if I left within two years however, now I wonder if I resign do I have grounds to ask for severance? My friend, who is a lawyer said the only reason they are not firing me right now, is because I would have legal grounds to sue, or they would be obligated to give me severance.
I know this is very long, but I am so depressed about this and I have no idea what to do. I am looking for other jobs frantically, but I just feel so hopeless and my anxiety is terrible. If you have any suggestions, please let me know I am going to ask HR for my file. Thank you.

Reliq Health Technologies Inc. has signed 10 new contracts with eight physician practices in Nevada and northern California, and two home health agencies in Texas. These clients are expected to add over 5,000 new patients to Reliq's iUGO Care platform by the end of 2023 at an average revenue of $65 per patient per month.

There is a large rural Medicare population in northern California and we are excited to be working with their care providers to help provide access to high-quality virtual care. In Nevada and California, the physician practices will be providing remote patient monitoring (RPM), chronic care management (CCM) and behavioural health integration (BHI) to their patients. In Texas, the home health agencies will be providing RPM to their patients. Through these contracts we expect to add over 5,000 patients to the iUGO Care platform by the end of 2023 at an average revenue of $65 per patient per month, at an expected 75-per-cent gross margin."
