Okay, so I’ve been with my boyfriend for 5 months now. He’s so amazing and I really love him. But today when I could see him working from his computer in a reflection. I saw it. He ate his own booger. I didn’t say anything and left for work. I came home and didn’t want to kiss him and now he’s pissed and keeps asking what’s wrong and why I don’t want to kiss him.
I don’t know what and how to tell him. Please help.

Hi,
I am new to OpenWRT and managed to have my network configured as well as a guest network. Now I'm trying to put everything behind Adguard Home. I tried to follow this guide : https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-useservices/dns/adguard-home#installation
But after doing so I have 2 problems :

1. The guest network no longer have DNS access (so no internet)
2. OpenWRT doesn't have internet access (so it can't download opkg packages for example)

Adguard works only for my main network. Could someone help me to set it up properly ? I can't find how.

Joining Reddit specifically to get advice about this since it's tearing me up inside. My boyfriend of 7 years and I recently mutually broke up. Though it was mutual, I am doing objectively better than he is post-break up. I have 2 wonderful cats that I am the legal owner of. They were just mine for 2 years before my ex-bf and I initially moved in together 3 years ago (so I've owned them 5 years). After my ex-bf and I moved in together, we have considered ourselves co-parents and call ourselves Mom and Dad.
Fast-forward to 1.5 years ago, I left our home to travel for 1.5 years and he took over care of the cats for that period of time. I've now returned home, and was planning to take the cats with me when I move out to the west coast (he's staying in the midwest). We both want the cats and we both want what's best for each other so we're at an impasse as to what to do.
Other relevant information: I'm carrying a lot of guilt about how hard of a time my ex is having post-breakup. He's very depressed and I feel I ruined his life. Taking away the cats, who have been a large part of his support system, feels cruel. His mom died several years ago and his remaining family (dad and sister) aren't very supportive. I, his friends, my family, and the cats have been his main support.
Even more relevant information: my ex-bf is more readily set up to care for the cats. I do travel for pleasure and sometimes for work. I do everything in my power to give them the best care, but knowing my ex doesn't leave home that often is making me feel even more guilty, that I would put the cats through a cross-country move and ask them to settle in to a new home and then be gone a few times a year for 1-2 weeks at a time.
On the other hand, the cats are my babies and I love them more than I can express. Thinking about giving them up makes me sob uncontrollably, as I have been doing for days.
This is a lot and is probably chaotic to read but that's the current state of my brain. I would just love some perspective, it feels like there's no solution that isn't going to kill me inside.

I got my diagnosis after covid. Struggled with severe back pain for a year, it was hell. With physio, medication and exercise I almost got to a place where I was fully functional, I just needed to remind myself and my partner that I’m a bit fragile and need to take it easy with stuff. At one point, without the pain, I felt almost normal and the thought of this illness didn’t make me sad. I had a good couple of months.
Today I went food shopping alone. Normally my partner carries everything but tonight I felt I’d be okay putting some food in a backpack and carrying it home. It’s a 5 minute walk to the grocery store.
I’m currently crouching in pain, 3 painkillers in, a numb elbow, and feeling so betrayed by my body. It’s so disheartening, how am I meant to have a normal life? Have kids and carry them? Will I be able to hold my children if I can’t even take groceries in my back for five minutes? I just needed to vent for a bit.

I’ve had multiple problems with the leasing office in the past and this specific neighbor, but my last problem potentially put me and my roommate in danger. I sent four pictures to my leasing office, complaining about my neighbors bike that was blocking my door, which is against contract rules and in one of the pictures you can see my door open and the leasing office sent that specific picture to my neighbor, asking him to move the bike. My neighbor obviously figured out it was us that complained and he has my roommates number, so he started calling and texting, saying that he didn’t place the bike there and he will be asking for security footage because he thinks we moved it just to have a reason to complain about him, he kept repeating that we’re going to have to resolve this. Later that day as I was arriving home he approached me in a very angry manner and before he could start talking I ran inside because I was scared. I told the manager and all he said was sorry. I reached out to a lawyer and they say I can’t do anything about it, I would like to know if I have a case against management.

I’m trying to leave my abusive husband. I don’t want anything from him; I don’t want money or a single item from our house, I just want the dog. I don’t really know where to begin. He is in the military. We don’t live in our home state, where we got married. Do I look there for a lawyer, or where we currently live? I will be moving back to our home state so I was hoping to get a lawyer there as it would be easier. But does it matter that we lived, and he will continue to live, in the current state?

My Z fold 4 finally split down the middle about two weeks ago and the process with Samsung has been absolutely awful to say the least. I did not buy Samsung care which is my fault for this. Leaving me with no choice but to trade in the phone for anything else on samsung.com, I was looking at the phones available and asked customer service (pre-sales) some questions about the 23 ultra. I started asking about the deals and any offers they had explaining my phone had just broken, the CS rep let me know that due to my phone screen issues that the trade in would be rejected Upon arrival. This didn't make sense, I ended up calling Samsung support team and they said no it would be a problem at all, we ended up placing an order for the 23 ultra but I am still concerned the trade in will get rejected.
Tldr: phone broke, wanted to trade in my device for a new device but the customer service rep told me it would be rejected.

The last couple of times I’ve called various stores to do a send sale (after finding a store has an item using the app that’s out of stock online and trying to call a store that has it in stock to have it sent to me). I have been told that company wide they were notified that they can no longer do send sales. Has anyone else been told this? I was told by a store in OH and a store in CA, USA. Both cases they had the item in stock and said they weren’t allowed to do a send sale for it. Sorry if this has been discussed already, I tried to find if someone else talked about it and couldn’t find it. Anyone an educator in here that can speak to this? I asked the educator at the OH store if this was permanent or temporary and she said she was told it’s company wide and until they hear otherwise no one is supposed to do send sales. 😭

I'm an absolute newbie interested in a work from home job, but I have trouble finding anything that doesn't require experience. Problem is, I don't have a lot of the experience they ask for. And a lot of the sites just send you through an endless cycle if redirecting you to other sites and just collecting your email over and over with no good results. I'm getting kinda desperate and this is extremely frustrating. Any suggestions would be great!

I’m in a class for vet students where we were talking about animal rights/welfare and focusing on discussing different ethical issues surrounding animals. It’s a really interesting class.
Today the professor asked if we think buying a purebred from a breeder is OK, to raise our hand if we did. I raised my hand without even looking up (I was writing down notes.) When I did look up, I noticed I was the only one raising my hand. I had to really fight back the urge to put my hand back down. Even my friends in the class didn’t raise their hands to that, which surprised me. It also made me feel slightly uncomfy because they know I plan on buying my next dog from a breeder haha.
He asked who didn’t believe it was ethical to buy purebreds, and half the class raised their hands. So yeah, I was surprised and disappointed.
Our professor heard multiple arguments on why we shouldn’t own purebred dogs from classmates (because shelter dogs need homes and purebred dogs are inbred/unhealthy being the main reasons) before he talked about genetic testing for a solid two seconds and then moved on.
I really wished he talked about it more, and explained that ethical/reputable breeders do health test and how this betters the breed, etc. But at least he talked about it. Maybe it’ll be mentioned again in the future.
What do you all think of this? To be fair, these vet students are very early in their degree I’d imagine. But I’d like to believe if someone wants good advice on dog breeders, they could go to a vet for it.
I did talk to my friends after class, practically made them argue with me on this issue, and gave them all the reasons why reputable breeders are important, and why we should support them. After I was done, they all agreed with me, got why I wanted to buy my next dog instead of adopt, and admitted they didn’t know any of that, they were just told purebreds were unhealthy and believed it. So people can definitely be convinced, they just don’t know what they don’t know.

Today I was flying in a LSA and coming back to my home airport winds were not heavy, just 10kt, but rapidly changing from full crosswind to headwind/tailwind. During my approach everthing was fine. In short final some windshear appeared and during the flare it was quite shaky. I was correcting for the left xwind when suddenly it became tailwind and ended touching left wheel first hard and then right and nose wheel not very smooth. I think that some mechanical turbulence due to the hangars also contributed, as left xwinds usually produce significant turbulence in my airport.
I felt how I suddenly lost the xwind component and some lift due to the sudden tailwind but I had no time to correct and avoid a bad landing.
What do you usually deal with these highly variable winds? Wind was changing so rapidly during the flare that I could not react properly on time...

Welcome to my review trilogy for Caroline Rose’s LONER, Superstar, and their new record, The Art of Forgetting. This is a really special write-up for me, though I’d like to assure you of something before I begin: Numbers don’t matter here. When it comes to commercial success by a reviewer, sure, the public will look at numbers before they decide to spend their ever-draining time on an album, but ahead of The Art of Forgetting’s release, this small review series is about feelings, as much of the new album is. I won’t rate any of these songs or albums on a scale.
To understand just how much of a surprise LONER is, we need to go back to the two albums before, 2012’s American Religious and 2014’s I Will Not Be Afraid. If you hopped onto the scarlet Caroline Rose train with LONER, you might be surprised to hear that their previous records were not Alternative Rock albums, but rather Country/Americana affairs that hold up in their own right. However, as Caroline has said, those two records feel like a completely different person, and LONER is where they truly began to find themself and their sound. One of pop rock fun that will get you up on your feet and maybe could even get your party grooving (Jeannie Becomes a Mom is always a great choice for getting partygoers spinning with their half-filled red solo cups which they’ll inevitably crush and throw on the floor during the chorus so they can jam out with their whole bodies).
My experience with LONER goes back to before Superstar was released, but that’s far as I can tell you. When you listen to a special album that inevitably becomes one of your favorites, your mind is supposed to take a snapshot of that span of time where you’re listening to something great and you have that moment where you stop, blink, and think to yourself, “Hold on a second, this rocks!”, then proceed to be astounded by every forthcoming track. No, I don’t remember the time or even the day when I first heard LONER, but I know it hasn’t left me. I will say one thing, though, our relationship isn’t complicated. There were no repeated listens required to know that I loved the album. That being said, instead of naming only a few songs, I’d like to take a plunge into this record fully and put you in a submarine in an ocean of sounds.
We start with the iconic album cover. Caroline stands in a red tracksuit and crimson sweatband, with an entire pack’s worth of cigarettes shoved into their mouth, blackened tips from the warm flame of the rose-colored lighter they are holding. They look like they have just come from the gym, a red sweat rag wrapped around their shoulders as if they had just finished running and stopped for an extreme smoke break (Don’t try this at home!). Our titular loner is cast against a white background which emphasizes the single person in the shot. Their eyes are far away and despondent, as if they are trying to escape their thoughts. The red colors against the white help everything to pop out at the listener and intrigue them to find out what music waits inside. How can you not want to hear an album with a cover this iconic?
Fun fact, LONER’s track order used to be something completely different, along with the art, but Caroline was forced to change it by suits and it’s still a choice they regret to this day. However, I’ll be looking at the tracklist as it is. Let’s dive into LONER and see what it has in store for us, shall we?
More Of The Same - The album opens with atmospheric notes before the iconic LONER synth comes in to create the backdrop of the song. By the time the percussion comes in, my body’s already moving along with the groove Caroline is carrying us along in. I’d like to note that this song has one of my favorite choruses from Caroline, and if this was your first album by them, you’d notice that they have a knack for writing incredible choruses. As for the meaning, I feel we really get introduced to our loner here, as they describe a rather dissociative state from the rest of society, realizing the cycle they are caught in while everything keeps moving around them. It’s a cynical but fantastic opener.
Cry! - The bassline of this song is incredible! As well as the very unusual drum pattern they use in the verses. During the chorus, the guitar strums beautifully, bringing a smile to my face every time. And what about that chorus? It has its own basic chorus structure, followed by multiple instances of “Cry!” from Caroline, but that’s where they use their vocals to great effect to keep you on your toes, not knowing what note comes next. In the middle of the song, when they give us that quiet moment of levity is maybe my favorite part of Cry!, as it’s so unexpected, and that’s why it’s so great. Caroline is a master of surprise. Interestingly enough, it seems this tackles similar themes to Superstar, as it’s about a staperson who experiences how tough being populafamous really is. What can I say except that this rocks?
Money - Damn, Caroline! Opening with another sick riff and showing off your skills! Question: Have you ever played someone this song before? I’ve played this for people many times and there are always two reactions I’m usually guaranteed to get. During the first chorus, people laugh at Caroline’s comedy, which is another thing they excel at, and then in the bridge, people are always weirded out by the…interesting noises coming from the singer. I like that Caroline doesn’t hold back though, for sure. Quirks like that are what separate LONER from other Alt-Rock albums out there. The song is a cunning remark on capitalism, saying it plain and simple: These days, it all comes down to money. Everything in our society circles back to it, and it’s really dumb.
Jeannie Becomes a Mom - Proof that a simple melody is all you need to make an effective song. The lifeblood of this song is that iconic synth, and without it, this track wouldn’t have skyrocketed to be their most popular. Of course, all the ingredients are what make the sonic soup truly incredible. My favorite moment in Jeannie Becomes a Mom has to be the second verse. It’s just so damn catchy! I like that the end of the song is kind of hypnotic and reaffirms the message, “Now you’re in real life”, though sometimes when I’m showing the song to people, I’m worried it might go on too long…Suburbian fantasy, put into music form. Move over, Arcade Fire (Just kidding, I love The Suburbs).
Getting To Me - The versatility! Caroline knows how to keep their records interesting all the way through. I think the diversity will always lead their albums to be infinitely replayable. They have never once come across as boring, and the other songs are incredible, but this song is the beginning of that realization. The plucked strings throughout the song, as well as the progression, make the song stick out of the eleven tracks, as no other song on the record has them. Good choice. Plus, the strings later! Gosh! This is the song for which LONER gets its name, even though Caroline never says the word “loner” in the song. Funny, the things we notice when we’re lonely. Guess we have time to think.
To Die Today - The guitars on this track make me think they are underwater, and that is an incredibly chilling sound to be added to them. The song starts off slowly but finds its groove later, creating one of the strongest progressions in LONER. I love that little moment with the synth in the third quarter of the song. This song is incredibly dark on what sounds like a mostly-happy record, but it's also meant to be comforting. Death is scary for some people, but comforting for others. For Caroline, death is the knowledge that all the pain we feel won’t last forever.
Soul No. 5 - The album flow gets flipped on its head, from the darkest song to the happiest song on the album, yet it doesn’t create a whiplash. It all works. And how can you deny this song with that opener? If you told me the character from Superstar was singing this song, I’d believe you. It radiates confidence. Despite the album’s cynical nature, it’s important to remember what you love about yourself and that you’re an awesome person. Caroline gives us an incredibly fun anthem for that. One of my favorite Caroline Rose tracks in general.
Smile! AKA Schizodrift Jam 1 AKA Bikini Intro - The longest title for the shortest track on the album. This is just a fun little interlude, but it does have relevance to the next track, as it documents the cycle of women in the industry being put in a glass box for everyone to see and being told to smile about it. We’ll get into it in the next track. Super weird track, but that’s why we love Caroline.
Bikini - Caroline Rose’s comedy reaches its peak here, even though that comedy derives from something shitty. The surf-rock song sounds happy and fun, and Caroline sounds happy as ever. However, the song is actually a bitter commentary on the sexualization of women in the industry. They are told all these promises and told that all they have to do is “put on this little bikini and dance”. However performing these actions open a floodgate for many women that causes them to discover how shitty the industry really is, and how even these days, they are still objectified and made to do things against their will just to be famous. This is what it takes to make it and it’s tragic. Superstar further explores the idea brought up in this song, and you can tell Caroline really feels strongly about the topic.
Talk - I can’t decide if this song or Animal is my favorite on this album. They both have similar soundscapes and have a dark edge to them. The fact that Caroline ended this album with a dark sound has always been super effective for me, as I tend to like music that sounds a bit darker (Guess what my favorite song on Superstar is?). The dark synth, the slick percussion, and the intense paranoid lyrics are all incredible. Bringing to mind the title of LONER again, this song explores the conversations in one’s mind, all the bad things you say and think about yourself, and how it affects you on the outside. It’s really about anxiety, and I feel that. Caroline’s music has a lot of mental health aspects to it, and that’s one of my favorite things about them as a musician, they put that side of the human experience into grooves we can enjoy, but when you dive in, it gives the song a whole new face. Truly a gem.
Animal - The tails to Talk’s heads, Animal is the epic closer of this album. The concept is simple: Rose is jealous, and that jealousy is like a wild animal, filling them with anger and fury at the thought of their ex they are not over being with someone else. We don’t know if the ex is the man or the woman, just that Rose is jealous of one of them, and that increases the track’s lure. The instrumentation is dark and intense, and Caroline is as passionate as ever, but it’s really the final cries of the album that stick with you when all is said and done, leaving us with only an echo, then it’s gone. Have you ever heard this song live? If you haven’t, go do that.
When all is said and done, this is the rebirth of Caroline Rose from folk singer to city-slicker, bringing infectious synth and groovy guitars to the table, showing listeners that they aren’t here to mess around and that they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of indie music. It’s not a surprise this is their most popular album, as its quirkiness, down-to-earth lyrics, and pop-rock fun make it a good time during any listen. However, this is my least favorite of the trilogy, because I believe that Caroline has only grown as an artist, but I won’t spoil my future reviews here.
For now, Caroline’s LONER is an album that will stand the test of time, never to be dated by its topics or sound. The replayability and longevity of this work add to just how much of a breakout record this is, and it’s a shame more people aren’t paying attention to Rose these days. Do yourself a favor and LONER whenever you can. Really take some time to listen and soak up all of the sounds. Let it wash over you and truly hone in on the lyrics this time. Something this special deserves to be savored. Hello, Caroline Rose.

Seeking advice on a boiler replacement before I start digging into research- I am in the lower hudson valley, wood frame 1967 raised ranch with finished basement and additional family room off the dining room. Today the home is heated with hydronic baseboard: * 1967 Thatcher boiler with hot water coil (no tank!) * mid 80's low speed oil burner * 3 heating zones (1 main level and 1 addition on main level totaling 1700 sq ft, plus 1 finished basement of 500 sq ft) * 1 zone pump feeding all 3 zones * 500 gallon in-ground oil tank installed 1999
I have one through-the-wall AC unit in the center of the home and window units go in bedrooms/extension room for the summer months.
The biggest issue we face is hot water- the hot pressure in all faucets is crap (cold is fine) and I suspect it's the 55 year old coil clogged with scale/etc. So we have low-pressue showers which are warm at best because we can only mix in a little cold at the shower otherwise it's too cold due to the weak hot flow which isn't hot for long anyway- maybe a minute before its just warm.
The Thathcher boiler label says * 147k btu/hr gross * 132300 btu/hr [email protected]% * 110250 btu/hr [email protected]% it seems pretty efficient for our use, averaging 900 gallons of oil per year over 20+ years.
Should I consider mini splits as a replacement? I love the idea of having these units for heat and AC so I can ditch the window units, as well as no more oil. I could retire 4 ugly heavy drafty window units plus the one in the wall! I roughly figure I need 6 heads- 1 in the addition, 1 in the main room of the house, 3 bedrooms, 1 basement. My main concerns with such a system are up-front cost, running cost with electricity being high now, reliability of heat in below zero winters, reparability, and backup power required to use them.
I would still need a hot water source.
The backup power is less of a concern the past few years but with the 110v oil burner I can heat the home with my backup generator in the winter. I can also power the in-wall 110v AC to keep temps down in summer. I'd need a significant generator upgrade to power any splits for heat or ac or give up on backup for that. I could also leave the old beast in place as a backup system, only turning it on for heat when needed and even have the hot water coil removed. I mention reparability because I have become quite familiar with my simple old beast and have replaced many parts on my own over the years that are quite standard- transformer, fire control, zone valve heads, zone pump.
Space is also a concern if replacing with a boiler plus hot water source- the current area is a framed/sheetrocked room with bifold doors within the basement but it's very tight- 5.5 feet x 4 feet with 1 block wall where the stack vents to the chimney.
So, should I even consider mini splits? Or should I just stay with an oil burner and a hot water solution? If a boilewater solution, then what combo? Indirect fired storage tank? Direct fired? Electric? Tankless?
Please share your opinions/ideas/suggestions/experiences/pros/cons and other things I am not thinking of. Recommend reliable brands too, please if you can.

I'm used to hearing my pulse in my head every now and then but it's usually short-lived.
My POTS presents with low BP, but I haven't been in the habit of checking my BP at home much anymore and my BP has been surprisingly high around the 120/80 mark the past couple of appointments because of pain (TMJ pain, dislocated rib pain).
But I checked my BP at home today. I was expecting it to be high because of all the pain I've had lately, and stress about some things, and because I've been hearing my pulse so much. But no. It was low.
Should I be worried about this? This is new for me.
On top of this, I just moved to a new area and I saw a new doctor for the first time last week. I told him I was diagnosed with POTS and I needed help managing it and needed some questions answered about some stuff that has happened to me. Saw the notes in the patient portal a couple days later, "I don't think patients has POTS" and the follow-up appointment next month is listed as for "anxiety." We're working on getting my records over there so he hasn't seen my records yet so I'm gonna give him a chance to change his mind, but I am livid. Also feel like I can't really call and say "hey I need to talk to my doctor about why I've been hearing my pulse in my head for 2 days and yet my BP is low." Feeling really alone right now.

Hello, all of my PCOS people. I'm a long time lurker on this subreddit, 26 year old female. I recently had a decidual cast get stuck and had it removed, and they took it in for testing to find that there were cancer cells present, stage 1 endometrial I was told.
I feel really out of control and afraid right now. I've been fighting this condition my whole life. Diagnosed at 9-10 years old. I was told ''Just loose weight.'' as a young girl, and that it'll fix it. It did not. At 13-16 years old, I lost roughly 130-150lbs by myself. That did not make the condition go away, just lessened the symptoms. But I didn't know that then. Over time, and over periods of long stress, the weight crept on me and so did depression, more than it ever has before - despite working a job that required a lot of physical activity. I've eaten relatively healthy my whole life, have had normal blood pressure & cholesterol, etc - Except for maybe a few years where I barely ate at all because of how serious the depression got and could not get out of bed outside of getting up for work. I never knew how serious PCOS could be up until 2021, and have been trying my best ever since to eat right, and to try and get my weight down. It feels like nothing I do works for me. ( Each time I make progress, I am met with a setback. Usually anemia, extremely heavy menstrual bleeding, or some other health issue such as being sick - home issues, or a doctor that leaves, months in between appointments - that puts me back where I started. I've restarted over and over again to try to maintain some sort of consistency. ) I am a major hypochondriac, so this is my worst nightmare; and I'm scared and have been crying on and off all day. I've barely been able to live my life because of poverty, and dealing with other conditions that are mental health related such as depression, OCD, anxiety; and have been making huge steps forward with those problems, but only to be greeted by major physical ones. I feel like a prisoner in my body. I'm going to get a second opinion soon. But the unknown scares me.
My NP tells me the prognosis is good, and they caught it very early. But the what-if's are overwhelming. I feel like having a healthy, loving life is just something that's impossible for me to have.
Honestly, I'm not really sure where the direction of this post is going, but any words of kindness, any resources or advice would help a lot here.

Oh my goodness, please tell me someone has a solution! My toddler bit me nursing the other day- it rarely happens, but I didn’t think much of it. BUT she must have bit me harder than I realized because I am in SO much pain when we nurse now. Like whole body is tense can not take it more than a few minutes at a time. I can see almost like a tiny little scab (might not be the best description, it’s sort of like a raise white bump) where she bit me. Does anyone have any solutions for a relief? Any home remedies that helped you heal faster?? TIA!
