I have a 50 year old home and am in the process of painting the downstairs. Around the end of the day, I started to hear a clanking sound on one side of the house about every 2 minutes for the last four hours.

• Our HVAC has been off the whole time
• I flushed our water lines to try to rule out a pressure issue (I could hear the sound even while the water line was closed)
• I turned off the breaker to that side of the house and still hear the sound
• I checked outside to see if the noise was coming from the exterior, but don’t see anything.

Any ideas for how to find the source?

2. It dawned on me that I always wanted the two of us to go biking together, and I always felt she could really use a bike to improve her own well-being. So I got her the bike
   
3. As Christmas grew closer and I was trying to find a bike and give her a great gift I began to question why I was doing this. Part of me felt like I had to because we were in a relationship and the other part was internalizing our entire relationship, was she the right one? I am putting in all this effort and is it worth it? Will she even like the bike? She’s never expressed interest in it
   
4. In addition to Christmas, around that time everything about her changed, I very easily tell she was in love with me but afraid to tell me. This put even more pressure on making sure the Christmas gift. I also knew in 2 months we’d have a one year anniversary.
   
5. All of December I was so focused on the pressure of the relationship, making plans to be with her for Christmas, I began to disconnect from the relationship. It felt like things were moving really fast or were about to move very fast.
   
6. I ended up convincing myself I wasn’t happy. I had put on weight, I was becoming slightly aggravated with work…but because she always talked about the negative parts of her job. I felt like I was constantly splitting my weekends between what I wanted to do and what we wanted to do. I had worked so hard to be the person I was when we met and during our time together I lost that person. I knew that person had to change to accommodate her but I didn’t like the way it changed
   
7. For Christmas I toyed with the idea of gifting her a key to my apartment, the idea being that I really wanted to move things forward with her, that I did love her, that I did want to change my life to better accommodate her.
   
8. Did I love her though? I think so. I was scared that she was scared of telling me how she really felt about me. It made me nervous that there was something wrong in our relationship and the way we communicated.
   
9. The Christmas Trip to Chicago

1. During Christmas she opted to take a last minute two day trip to Chicago with her male friend Pinky. Her good friend that I think is in love with her.
2. The trip took place two days before Christmas during the really bad snowstorm. We had plans to be together for the holiday and go camping
3. Her flight was delayed and she couldn’t come back until the 28th or 29th.
4. I was devastated over this, I had finally come around to Christmas and was looking forward to have someone to spend the holiday with and it didn’t happen. This killed my entire Christmas mood and really made me question everything about us.
5. She knew the storm was coming and before leaving knew there was a risk of missing Christmas but continued anyways. I don’t have an issue with pinky in the regards that she would cheat on me, but I really struggled to understand this relationship between the two of them.

Why the break-up

1. She has so much potential to be this amazing woman and she doesn’t even try. I know she has school and work…

1. I had wish for awhile that the feeling of guilt spending time doing my own things would go away. May the would have if I had know on weekend mornings she was doing her own thing, spending time on herself instead of sleeping or watching crime shows.
2. She has some trauma around relationships in the past and this was a recurring conversation in our relationship. She made it very clear this was her first serious relationship where she felt safe and secure. This was the first relationship where she felt like her needs were being discussed and met. I eventually convinced her to get help with this which she did.
   
3. I became weary after she began seeking mental help. I was self conscious about her finding out about my insecurities and those being identified by her therapist as reasons why we shouldn’t be together.
   
4. I was open with her about everything in my life
   
5. I didn’t even know if she was talking about our relationship
   
6. She had the worst teeth, just needs to get those things cleaned.
   
7. She has self image issues, while I always fault she was beautiful and extremely unique, she never really tried to work out with me or address these issues.

2. Financial life - I want a house, I want to keep doing triathlons, I have big bike plans over the next few years. I wasn’t really read to give up any of this, while there was no financial strain brought on by the relationship, relationship do required that you spend money and I sometimes felt like a dinner out could have been better used to finance a plane ticket or tri entry fee.
3. I spent a lot of time each week trying to justify and how to explain to her that I was going to be gone half the day, on the two days a week we stayed together.

Hello! Our host has been feeling very useless within the system. They front most while we are doing tasks IRL and as such do not spend much time participating in headspace. I am (33f) dating a (43m) and we’ve been together for 4 years now and throughout all those years he has been asking for a kid with me(mind you he has four from previous relationships) I am up to my neck in debt and slowly trying to rebuild myself. He does not help me with bills. I keep telling him we should wait until I clear my debt because who wants to be in debt, broke with a baby. According to him he is not helping because he is saving to buy us a house( but is always giving money to friends) i recently got my landed status and I want to start school fall next year. I work two minimum wage jobs to maintain myself, pay my debt and try to save. I am not entitled to his money but sometimes it would be nice to get a little help. He wants me to have the baby and then help me. I feel pressured as well because it honestly feels like that’s all he wants, he keeps saying ‘it’s only nine months’ as if that’s where it ends. I adopted my tuxedo cat when he was about 4 or 5. My sister had found him on the side of the road when he was a kitten, but the person who took him in for the first few years of his life had to give him up, so my sister asked if I wanted him.
He was always pretty affectionate and liked to follow me around, but I was in an apartment for the first few years and he would very rarely actually sit on my lap or sleep with me. He liked to be near me, but at an arms length, and he also just napped and slept a lot. I never really played with him a ton, because I’d be at work during the day and when I came home he’d follow me around but was always taking cat naps and didn’t seem like he required a lot of stimulation beyond being pet and given affection. He did have some toys of course but I wasn’t spending hours every day stimulating him.
Fast forward a few years… he is 11 now I believe. I have a house now and he has a lot more space to roam and more toys to play with. Has his own bedroom (literally, the guest room is his designated space lol).
I adopted a shelter dog 3 years ago and they get along fine, and his behavior didn’t really change after I got her. He would still nap a lot during the day, greet me when I came home, be affectionate and curious but keep a distance at times and sort of just linger around but wasn’t suffocating me.
Now, within maybe the past year or so, that has changed. He follows me 24/7. If I walk into the kitchen he’s at my feet and rubbing against me. If I sit on the sofa he wants to jump up on my lap. When I get into bed he’s on my chest and when I wake up in the morning he hears me and comes into the room and jumps up and nudges at me.
My shelter dog has separation anxiety and follows me 24/7, too. So my only assumptions are:

• my cat is getting older and, for some reason, more clingy as a result of his age? Maybe this is normal for cats?
  
• the dog following me everywhere has rubbed off on him and he has learned the behavior, or he is curious / doesn’t want to feel left out so he follows me more than he used to? Almost like a bit of jealousy?
  

It’s flattering obviously as I know it means my pets love me and vice versa, I would do anything for them, but at times it does become exhausting. Even now I briefly laid down on my sofa and he couldn’t wait to try to jump up on me and it’s just a bit much at times, especially compared to how he used to be.
I also noticed he begs for food a lot more than he used to - even when I’ve just fed him. There will be leftover wet food in his dish and he hops up next to his bowl and looks at me like he wants more.
I take him to the vet annually for checkups and they haven’t found anything abnormal. And I haven’t sensed that he’s in pain or discomfort or anything. He isn’t losing weight (still a big boy at 18 pounds). He does have some respiratory issues that they suggested allergy meds for which I put in his food when it seems to be flaring up. He makes wheezing and gurgling noises at times while grooming which I’ve told the vet and they thought it was just his allergies.
Does this sound normal to you guys? Can cats just be become more clingy and needy as they get older?

I really don’t know why, but I’m unhappy. I feel like I’m waiting for my life to get better but I literally don’t even know what I mean by that. I guess what’s unusual about my life is that I’m a PhD student and it’s a rather lonely job, I don’t have much human interaction aside my boyfriend on a daily basis and I live far from my family.
But besides from that, I rent a very nice house in a low cost of living area with my my boyfriend. My boyfriend is really great and sweet and I love him. We also have a cute dog who’s a sweetheart.
I don’t have that many friends aside from my boyfriend, but I mean, I’ve never been someone to desire a ton of friends or to go “out” all the time. I’m pretty introverted.
Last week we had a fun weekend, went to a house party, played some sports, etc. And tonight I was excited to just have a chill night in with him, but I all of a sudden got really sad about it and cried in my room. This is a common feeling for me on weekend nights when I’m not drowning in work. I work on Sundays, sort of because I have to, sort of because I want to. I did join a gym, and I try to go twice a week or so, but it doesn’t combat the emptiness.
Maybe someone can relate? I know I should see a therapist.

With Easter comes our final mixed teams 3v3 match, and we've expanded the cast of characters. This time it’s Team Eggroll vs. Team Fondue!

Format:

For the purposes of this 5-game show match, Team Eggroll (E) consists of Viper, Nicov, and Ganji, while Team Fondue (F) features Daut, Villese, and Sitaux.
· Six vil start for all maps (+3 vil, +1 house)
· There is a 5-map pool (see appendix) for a modified hidden pick, no repeat series
· Game 1 is on the set map, Shady Fish Market
· The teams then do a Delicious 5 civ draft:
o 4 global civ bans in E, FF, E order
o Teams draft 4 exclusive civs each in F, EE, FF, EE, F order
o For avoidance of doubt, teams are drafting civs that the other team may not pick. They can but do not need to pick these civs themselves.
· Each game then proceeds hidden pick, no repeat, but with the civ restrictions (8 for each team) from the draft.
· The loser of each game picks the next map from the remaining maps

I’m almost licensed, and in our class we were talking about teens and phones. I don’t have kids myself, so it’s new territory. I was wondering how you all handle cell phones for the teens. How long do you wait to see if they will be longer term in your house before getting them a phone? Do you put them on your plan, and take them off when they leave and put the next kid on your plan, and so on? Do you put them on a pay as you go, or a separate plan? It seems like we have been hearing rumors about Grand Theft Auto 6 since the beginning of time, though in reality, it has only been almost that long. If you were hoping for some clarity with a release finally being around the bend, well, brace yourself—we could be in for several more years of rumors, not just weeks or even months.
Naturally, the folks at Rockstar Games are not offering up any juicy tidbits about the inevitable release. So everything we know, or think we know, has come by way of leaks and rumors. To that end, multiple leakers are reporting that GTA 6 might not come out until 2024 or even sometime 2025. As things stand right now, YouTuber Tom Henderson says the next version of GTA is very early in development.
Henderson notes that, historically, he has not been associated with GTA leaks (he's been more plugged into the Battlefield scene), but the information he shared in a YouTube video is based on what he has heard from multiple sources. He is not the only one that is hearing GTA 6 is still several years away from being released, either.

Given the success of GTA Online, it seems Rockstar Games might not be in a rush to push out another major release. At the same time, it's said the developer is focusing "very heavily on employee well being," which in part means avoiding the crunch that precedes a game's release. However, there is at least one other factor at play as well.
It's said GTA 6 will launch on PC and the latest generation game consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S). By taking its time in releasing GTA 6, Rockstar Games will have a much wider audience of compatible console owners to drum up sales. And while not mentioned, the same could be true in the PC space, as hopefully discrete GPUs will be plentiful again by the the time GTA 6 arrives.
As for the setting, Henderson says GTA 6 will in fact mark a return to Vice City. Rockstar Games may opt to add more locations to the map over time (post launch), but it looks like a modern take on Vice City is headed to the GTA universe.
Given how much we had playing Grand Theft Auto V when it came to PC several years ago (and still holds up today), we're excited to see what GTA 6 brings to the table, even if it means waiting another 3-4 years.

We evolved to have different stress responses so we don't all do the same thing, then we force everyone to believe they should react the same way. Which is how one gets locked up. Then lives in shame.
The things we expose our children to are building the structures of their brains. That's why some people get bipolar and some people don't. It matters how you wire their amygdala in while the brain is developing. This isn't just about panic, every region and the processes of conscious experience are pushing up against each other.
We think something like this is like a dog with a treat, but we are not dogs. If you screw up how a person experiences fear, it fucks up their ability to feel happiness. Which creates a self-reinforcing pattern of human misery.
One of my core memories is visiting a burn care unit when I was 5-6. I met people burned over 70 percent of their body. I watched videos where they removed dead kids from burned down houses. I was told about the process and shown the equipment used to scrub the burned flesh from a person's body and shown the room where they would strap you down. The scrub was rubbed against my arm, trying to create the experience for me.
One of my guardians was a firefighter and they had caught me playing with fire. Because there were lighters and matches everywhere as everyone smoked. Of course it didn't fix the problem because children are not adults. Which is why you don't teach them like adult violent criminals.
Raise a child on violence and fear and and that tends to be kind of adult you get. Not always. Some are propelled forward by the turbulence of their lives. Like a submarine just beneath the surface. Those are my people. I say we give love and support a try first, see how that goes.

As things stand right now, YouTuber Tom Henderson says the next version of GTA is very early in development.
Henderson notes that, historically, he has not been associated with GTA leaks (he's been more plugged into the Battlefield scene), but the information he shared in a YouTube video is based on what he has heard from multiple sources. He is not the only one that is hearing GTA 6 is still several years away from being released, either.

Given the success of GTA Online, it seems Rockstar Games might not be in a rush to push out another major release. At the same time, it's said the developer is focusing "very heavily on employee well being," which in part means avoiding the crunch that precedes a game's release. However, there is at least one other factor at play as well.
It's said GTA 6 will launch on PC and the latest generation game consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S). By taking its time in releasing GTA 6, Rockstar Games will have a much wider audience of compatible console owners to drum up sales. And while not mentioned, the same could be true in the PC space, as hopefully discrete GPUs will be plentiful again by the the time GTA 6 arrives.
As for the setting, Henderson says GTA 6 will in fact mark a return to Vice City. Rockstar Games may opt to add more locations to the map over time (post launch), but it looks like a modern take on Vice City is headed to the GTA universe.
Given how much we had playing Grand Theft Auto V when it came to PC several years ago (and still holds up today), we're excited to see what GTA 6 brings to the table, even if it means waiting another 3-4 years.
