In short, Hiyaks aren't cutting it anymore, so I'm looking for something more sturdy. Y'all got any recommendations?
I've had a decent run with Astral Hiyaks. They're comfortable, the rubber is sticky, they don't get funky smelling even after seasons of use, and if you reinforce the lace loops before you start using them they're durable as well. But I recently did a multiday self support trip where I was dealing with 6 to 18 inches of crusty snow on the riverbanks, and it turns out that Hiyaks just aren't sturdy enough to move easily in those conditions. They're just too flexible to effectively kick into icy snow when you need that foothold on a slope, and also don't have quite as much ankle support as I'd like when I posthole all the way down the the ground and onto unstable riverbank scree (which, helpfully, is invisible because snow 🙃)
So I'm on the hunt for a new pair of kayaking boots. Ideal features for me, in order of importance, would be: - handles water well, preferably via mesh panels or drainage ports - ankle coverage, at the very least some padding but ideally some decent structure to offer support - a sole with moderate stiffness that's structurally well integrated into said ankle support - covered laces (this is one of the best features of the hiyaks in my opinion) - sticky rubber - a rand most or all the way around the foot, especially in front of the toes to protect them - approach shoe like climbing performance (sometimes those class V creeks necessitate some scrambling, you know?)
bluk inside the kayak fortunately isn't a concern for me. I'm planning on using these boots while paddling my Code or Rewind, and I've previously paddled both boats comfortably while wearing full on backpacking boots (long story)
The Astral TR1 merge looks like it would have met many of those criteria, but unfortunately they're currently not making them and I can't seem to find any in my size. The Rassler 2.0 is inferior to the Hiyaks for hard whitewater, imho. Unparalleled hasn't yet revived the 5.10 water tennie, and that's not really what I'm after anyway.
The La Sportiva TX Canyons, though, look like they might be just the thing. Nobody seems to be using them for kayaking though, so I'm curious what you all think? Alternatively, is there some other bomber water capable hiking or canyoneering boot out there that I should be considering?

Hi, I recently purchased a new 2023 CX-5 Premium Plus for $38,500. The dealer initially discounted the MSRP and then later added a “Protection Package” which added things like window tint, wheel locks, and paint protection.
I feel like the dealer has charged me extra for these addons. I wanted to find out what the fair OTD price of this vehicle should have been.

the way tx was at the time when we first met wasn't threatened our lives it was join the summer, eventually that time pass and texas realise/propose bill that basically threatened our lives, this was December btw when the bill was announce.

At this point I am trying my best dang hardest to be strong for both of us, with all due respect my partner more worried/ on verge of ending their lives, as I was basically stress as fuck to tell them we can't move right due to finance. Of course we evently did talk about it, but lately on news I see that texas is definitely not the place to be right now if you are trans, it best to get the fuck out like right now. but unfortunately we can't do that right now, and I am more worried for my partner more than myself especially when they are by themselves (they get around town by walking and taking the bus/public transportation). I been trying to watch the new less as my partner did that a month ago cause it was too streessing them out, but I can't help to watch more like for update like a clock ticking for our lives here's.
I just want to get out with my partner to a more safe place and find somewhere we can actually find a home in, without fear for our lives every minute of the day, at the same time it make me so depressed knowing I am getting kick out of a place I thought that was home but isn't, I'm depressed I have to leave friends and family behind when I really don't want to but knowing damn well I can't stay here.

I am finally moving from my 1995 Yamaha R-V901 (family hand down) to an Onkyo TX-NR6050 as I am tired of having to use a digital to analog converter to play nice with my TV and peripherals. I got it on sale at Costco. I see the meta lists the Denon avr s760h as a better option, which they also carry for $100 more currently.
I am currently running a 3.1 setup with
Yamaha NS-A3500 tower fronts (family hand down with surrounds rebuilt about a decade ago) and a Paradigm CC-190v5 center (thrift find about 6 years ago) placed below screen.

As this new receiver is quite a bit higher tech, including atmos/dts:x, I am looking to finally expand to a proper 5.1 or even 5.1.2 with room correction. I have not yet decided if I will use pass-through, or connect the avr to the TV via optical cable (current method via converter).
Looking for advice on a set of rears or affordable way to get into an atmos/dts:x setup.
I am also not opposed to a new sub, though I am not really looking to spend a lot, as I know they get expensive quick. I have looked into the Dayton sub-1000/1200.
I don't really have any idea as to what kind of budget I would be looking at given the receiver I just purchased cost more than everything else combined over the years, and my knowledge of audio is heavily limited compared to things like computers.
New is preferred for ease, though I don't mind sourcing used if it doesn't require watching postings like a hawk.
My uses for the system include blu-rays (possibly UHD soon), streaming video/plex, sports, video games, streaming music and vinyl. Though, I do have a separate vinyl setup in the works from my leftovers as I upgrade.

No experience necessary for the laborer custodial or maintenance mechanic positions. It helps on the interview but you can surely think of maintenance related experience to relay for an interview. Based on fixing things around your house, the car etc. Always mention working safely.

Pro tip: You can apply for any job that has an exam opening and the test is administered local to yourself. Make sure you're serious and score decently; you can turn down the job offer. Keep a physical copy of your exam score, I believe they are good for two years.
The reason is: These job postings can be posted externally at capacity for testing, meaning they will not allow you to take the exam if they have enough qualified applicants. However, if you have a test score on the books, you are a qualified applicant.

MVO= CDL B Can only drive box trucks on public roads, can drive anything for moves on postal property.
TTO= CDL A Can drive anything.

I haven’t posted before but I could really use some advice! I am a 23 y/old female born and raised in MN. I went to U of MN and and very comfortable here but need to push myself out of my comfort zone and I am really considering moving to a different state in the next year, alone.
I want to find a place that has lots of young people where I can hopefully make friends, get a job and make a new life for a while! I’ve thinking about maybe CO, FL or TX? I don’t think I would be able to go NY or CA..
Looking for youthful city with lots to do, great people and good quality of life, and balance between city and nature (love nature and being outside).
If anyone has any input on places to move, how to find a roommate, job opportunities, success/failure stories, how to make friends or how to deal with leaving for the first time I would really appreciate it. I’m super nervous but really want to follow through on moving. Thank you!

TLDR: Rock hard Houston TX Clay "soil" with St Augustine and Bermuda grass growing. How to help it and make it less like a clay pot on the ground?
Full story:
I have a large back yard which is mostly St Augustine, which I have no problem with in general. I got my pool removed last year and they graded the area properly, but due to the layout of the house and poor grading in general, it became a natural low spot for rainwater to collect. I was happy, because it now didn't sit against my house, however the new St Augustine sod they put in this area did not like it.
Pair the poor drainage, hard clay soil/fill dirt, extremely compacted ground, my initial overwatering, then lack of watering and you've got yourself a sad section of grass
Since then I've fixed the drainage by installing about 650 feet of SDR35 pipe, 12 catch basins, downspout adapters etc, and it started to improve.
I also researched and decided I wanted to overseed with Bermudagrass, so I did. I got 10lbs of it from Douglas King Seed and spread it around, watered it for 10-15 mins a day and its started to come up and fill in. I also got the Premium Gold fertilizer from Southwest Fertilizer and spread it, and it seems to be doing alright. But, I've noticed its going much slower on the hard clay sections
What can I do to improve that? if I buy a ton of compost and spread it over, will that help? I have a truck and trailer so I can easily buy a lot of it

Hi all, I am 201cm, and 140kg. Finding a car that I can drive comfortably (and safely) has always been a challenge.
Just wanted to see if other users have any experience with cars that have a lot of leg and head clearance, as I am looking to purchase a new car.
Things I often struggle with: - low head clearance: have to crane neck or lean forward in order to see out of windscreen. At times even further to see traffic lights. - bad leg clearance making it difficult to turn the wheel (wheel hits knees or my hands can’t pass between the wheel and my knee) - bad leg clearance contributing muscle cramps and discomfort during longer drives. - side view mirrors always angled high for vision, can never see paint lines for parking
The list goes on, it can be a struggle.
Currently driving a 2014 ford territory sz tx which has served me very well, but even this car could be a little bit more accomodating. It would be nice to have both of my knees under the steering wheel for once. However, I still highly recommend this car if you are also a big driver, best I’ve fit into so far!

My ledger is getting a little old now and needing replacing, so I'm moving my small amount of funds off it to another address in order to transfer to my new one.
I have had no issues withdrawing anything so far except BUSD. I have the latest version of the app, the firmware, and BNB balance on the wallet for fees.
I have tried withdrawing to two different BSC addresses but nothing has happened. There isn't even a TX on BSC scan. The funds have not left the account, my balance is still the same.
Is there any issues I am unaware of here? Appreciate any support that can be offered.

We just moved into a new construction home in Houston area. The house has several of the ceiling mount LED lights (the ones where you have to change out the whole fixture to change out the bulb). I was able to talk to the electrician who installed them and he told me that they are dimmable and would offer that functionality if I was to change the switches. What is the best way to automate these lights so that they are controlled through HA? I would prefer having local control vs. cloud-based solution.
I do already have a Sonoff Zigbee stick that is integrated in HA using z2mqtt. I have heard of shelly relays which will require some wiring (which I am okay with learning), but they are wifi only?
