Hi all! I want to preface by saying I’m not looking for a moped because I want to be able to get around the island/mopeds seem to be involved in many car accidents, and that is not worth it to me.
I have only had one car that I got when I was in high school then sold a couple months ago before I moved here. I am wondering if there are any dealerships that are reliable/ones I should avoid? Also, in anyone’s experience, is buying private (ex: Facebook marketplace) better than buying from a dealership? Has anyone had success with websites like Carmax/etc?
Tbh I don’t know a ton about cars so I am nervous that I might be taken advantage of by some dealerships. Really just looking for any advice! (Lmk if anyone needs any more information to provide advice).

I'm in San Antonio, TX and am hoping to finally pull the trigger on a OG 900 Turbo this spring. If my months of Facebook Marketplace F5ing have taught me anything, it's that nobody within 200 miles seems to own a SAAB, particularly a pre-GM model. Just wondering if anyone else here is from the area? I'm okay-to-decent at DIY so figure I'll have to rely on that for maintenance but have to admit, I think I'll feel a bit isolated and stranded.

Is buying a used one a good option? What should I look for? What should I avoid?

Dealing with FBMP is roughly equivalent to dealing with Microsoft Word. 50% of the time it's fine, works as it should, then the other 50% is a lesson in frustration.
I'm in the process of moving so I'm getting rid of lots of stuff. Some of it ranges from higher priced electronics, down to things like weights and random Ikea furniture. The first few items went off without a hitch - the buyers proposed fair prices, or there was no haggling at all. We arrange a time to meet, make the exchange and that's it.
Then the rest, oh the rest. First it's people seemingly interested in buying, even going as far as arranging a pickup time, only for them to disappear off the face of the earth (if you are one of the people who do this, get fucked). Then the lowballers. Hell they'd try and ask for a discount if it was free. Get bent. Then the scammers. Oh you want to send me an etransfer and pick the item up in a weeks time? Then I get a text message with a weird link when they have my email address and I have auto deposit set up. Get wrecked. Follow up text from a number with an area code from the other side of the country. If I wasn't so busy packing I would hunt you down.

recently my arcam alpha 8 amplifiers died so time for an upgrade! I need some help selection wise on integrated amplifiers with a phono stage built in for under 300. I don't mind purchasing second hand though off eBay or Facebook marketplace! My current setup is a systemdek iix 900 turntable and q acoustics 3050 floor stander speakers. I have seen a lot of talk about the Yamaha a-s501 which I can't get second hand for around 200-250£. Would this amplifier match my setup well? if not what are some other options that I could look into. cheers.

I was browsing FB marketplace for some Easter decor, for a cute little easter photoshoot for my daughter and found a stuffed bunny toy for 10$ and hit up the seller. This was the interaction verbatim (Me = duh, ES = Entitled seller)
Me: Hi, is this still available?
ES: Thank you for your interest in the Easter bunny. Yes, it is available if you would like to buy it.
Me: Yes! Do you accept Venmo or Cashapp?
ES: Sorry, no. You will need to pay me in cash when a pickup time is arranged. I have 2 of these bunnies. Would you like 1 or 2 of them? Thank you.l
Me: Oh never mind then.
ES: I am confused. Are you telling me that you can't pay me $10 in cash for the bunny when you pick it up? Your Facebook page indicates that you live locally in Town I live in, and I only accept cash.
Me: I don't want to have to go to the ATM and pull out cash, because I don't like carrying cash with me. Digital paymenta are just more convenient for me personally. So I'll pass.
(This is honestly where this should have ended)
ES: I am a very experienced seller and have never had a buyer who couldn't pay cash for a $10 item. At some point, I would imagine you would need to go to the ATM so you would have some cash on hand. If you change your mind, please let me know.
Me: If you are an experienced seller then you should know that, how you are acting right now is seriously inappropriate and incredibly entitled. My personal preference on how I like to pay has literally nothing to do with you. I just don't carry cash because I do not use it. It's just that simple.
Don't worry, I most certainly will not be changing my mind. Your conduct tells me everything I need to know about the person you are and how you treat others.

Not only am I a seller on Marketplace and Craigslist, but have been an ebay seller for l9 years with 100% feedback on 2 different accounts and have NEVER had any complaints because I provide excellent customer service and communication to buyers. ES: and the type of person I am is inappropriate as well. Buyers are supposed to pay for items in cash, and even if I accepted Venmo, I would not have used it for a small $10 purchase. Like I said, I have never had a buyer make a request like yours for a minor sale, which seemed unusual. No offense was meant by any comments I made, and I am sorry we could not make the sale happen.
Me: Well here is your first complaint then: This has by FAR been the worst interaction I've ever had with a seller, just because you can't accept that I don't want to buy this anymore because the payment method is inconvenient for me. How is this so hard to get. It's not like we already set anything in stone. I simply states interest and after hearing you only do cash, i stated that I am no longer interested. But anyway I've reported you for harassment, because I asked to no longer be contacted and apparently that is a boundary you can't honor. I will be blocking you now.
TLDR: Karen FB marketplace seller starts going on a rant in response to be no longer wanting to buy because the payment method is inconvenient for me. Seller looks up where I live to justify her continued insistence and tries to condescend me into buying from her, even after me not wanting to be contacted further. Over a 10$ Toy.

Hello Reddit just came on here for some advice on what I should do, well for starters I’m in California just in case that helps, but let me start by saying that I saw a post online of a guy looking to trade his gpu for a similar or better one. So I hit him up and told him I was interested told him what gpu I had and if I could send videos of it working properly and that I did I sent multiple videos of me playing videos games it hooked up and connected and working properly. He did the same. All looked good so we decided to meet up at a local McDonald’s and we made the trade at the spot I asked if it’s cool if I could inspected his card which I did and he didn’t even bother inspecting mine because he said I sent videos that proved it worked (in the videos I included the date and time and showed it working to cover all bases). Well after I inspected his and saw it was good we went on our way. Well fast forward about 8 hours and he msgs me claiming that the gpu is not working sending me pictures at that point I try helping him troubleshoot to see what’s wrong and nothing works so now he wants to meet up again and swap the cards back his working one that’s (mine now) for my old one that he is now claiming to be broken. Really don’t know what to do because if I switch back I’m stuck with a broken gpu that was working when I had it…
