The private market for used vehicles is completely uncompetitive - at least in the vehicle category I'm looking at.
I've been researching for a 7-seat SUV in the 2015-2018 age range since December 2022. We've settled on Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe and Mazda CX-9 as our preferences and have been test driving and negotiating over the past 3 or 4 weeks.
Within a 100km radius of Brisbane, a majority of private Carsales ads are 3+ months old with a large portion of 6+ months and a handful of ads older than 12 months.
I've got like for like examples of same make/model/variant/km/condition listed $2,000 - $4,000 cheaper at used dealerships and this is including stamp duty, warranty and 6 months rego. When I've pointed this out to private sellers, they've been unwilling to even match the dealer price.
Can someone with a better understanding of these things can tell me if it's normally this bad?

Returning guardian here. Played a ton in D1 and quit early D2 during double primary and came back around 6 months ago. How things I have changed. BTW I got my flawless on saturday. I farmed my immortal all sunday and monday. I'm not asking for a handout, I'm capable of going. But man was it a mess for a lot of people and many of my clanmates.
Back in D1 because of trials boons (think passages) you basically only needed 5 wins to go flawless. You started with 1 win. you got an additional win on your first win taking you to 3 wins. And you got a mercy. It wasn't as hard to go flawless. Everyone I knew played trials. Even PvE players.
The main goal I see from most people now is to go flawless on a week with a good gun, than be in flawless pool and farm for a good roll. The actual lighthouse trip isn't very rewarding besides unlocking the adept and getting a memento. And repeat flawless is a good way for people to farm them before flawless pool.
I don't see why we went from needing 5 wins, to needing 7 and basically only having 1 usable passage for the majority of the player base. Mercy. Ferocity is only there for elites and for people to refarm 7 win cards to turn in for an adept faster. The no mercy no extra win card is just for a seal.
I think the trials population could use a bump and enable better connections amidst the win based matchmaking. It was really rough. Teleporting titans. We even had a game bug out and the round just wouldn't end on our lighthouse game no mercy and both teams had to alt F4 for a loss. Had to reset the whole thing. There's just a lot of network factors, error codes, and luck factors when stacking and especially solo queing that make 7 wins extremely difficult.
I understand its the pinnacle PvP activity and it should be hard. But honestly I think for how casual the PvP is in this game, because of the fact it could never be an e-sport, it shouldn't be this hard and take this many wins. It's a fat chance you even get a good roll on the gun given the amount of RNG with the perk combinations. You had a good formula in D1. No one complained. It was still hard. It just doesn't feel good now. Most average or above average players strategy can come down to waiting for flawless pool to go for it. If not you run the gauntlet of luck and not running into 3.0 KD sweats twice in a card.
I think amidst the general difficulty changes of the entire game as of recent, and the general consensus of most players just sticking to PvE and avoiding PvP entirely, that things need to be eased up. My clan has like 140 members. Like 10 of us like and play PvP. Everyone else absolutely groans. Make it more user friendly.

Sometime at the end of January last year, I started playing video games online. Starting with a game called Counter Strike. I had only been playing a short time (probably less than 10 games) when I met a couple of people who invited me to queue with them next game. I agreed, and when we queued up for the next game, they added another player, RJ (not his real name, using for anonymity purposes). RJ asked who the new person was and I said hello. The first words he ever said to me were “Oh great, an e-girl, can’t wait to see how this goes.” We play one game together and I figured that would be the end of that. He had added me to his friends list though.
A few days later, we’re both online, and he invites me to play again, much to my surprise. We play a few games, and actually end up talking a good bit, and add each other on discord. This was February 7th 2022.
We start texting everyday, and gaming every night. This graduates to phone calls, which turn into FaceTimes. Eventually, we exchange numbers and move off the discord app as a means to communicate. We talked, Every. Day. We started getting closer, realized we had a lot in common. Honestly, it was just like we clicked, from the moment we started talking we couldn’t stay away from each other. I had just gotten out of a 4 year relationship and wasn’t looking to get into another. He had be hurt pretty badly by his last girl (won’t go into details) and borderline swore of females. I am a religious person, as is he. It’ll never work, please, if this isn’t what it feels like take him from my life because I won’t be able to do it”
That SAME week, my dad (I’m 21, but still live at home currently) stops me in the kitchen and just randomly asks “hey, how would you feel about moving to Florida?” My family has always wanted to move south, but it was always NC, never Florida. (And I hadn’t told them about the boy in Florida who I was falling for yet) Turns out his company had a job opening down there and he was considering taking it. The first thing I do is check how far the town we would move to is from RJ. My shock when it turns out I would be an hour away from him if this move happened.
So we start going through the process and my family decides to make a trip down to Florida to check out some properties. And I ask if we could possibly spend our first night in his city so I could meet with him in person. To my shock, and anyone who knows my parents, they agreed. This is now April. So two months after we started talking, we’re finally going to meet. I’m iffy on if I believe in Angel numbers, but out hotel room that night, after a 14 hours drive, was 222 aka the soulmate number. And at 11am the next day, we go to a nearby mall, and finally meet up in person. We were never awkward, it was comfortable from day one. We actually ended up kissing (more so making out, trying to keep this PG) in a dressing room in one of the stores. Literally had friends asking me what book I’m living in after hearing about it. We spent a blissful 2 hours together and then I had to go. We looked at property’s and then back to PA.
Another two months goes by, this time it’s even harder. I talk one of my girlfriends into a “girls trip” to Florida. But her and everyone knew it was just to see RJ. We go down for four days, I spent as much time with him as I can between his work. We would just sit in a car (he lives where he works, so we couldn’t hang out there) talking, lots and lots of talking and kissing until 3am.
FINALLY. In July of last year, my family made the move to Florida. We have a small farm (horses chickens etc) so it took us 19 hours to move all of them down there. And since we moved, seldom has there been a weekend we didn’t spend together.
And just this last week, RJ and I closed on a house we found together, I won’t be moving in with him for a bit, we have to build a barn and pasture for the horses, but I’m writing this after spending the last 3 days with him getting a few things set up, and cleaning and “playing house” with him. We also got a dog together. We still play games together every night. It just hit me on my way home from there, how crazy it is, a year ago, we were messaging 900 miles apart, after a chance meeting playing a video game (something I never did) falling for each other but thinking we were stupid for even letting ourselves get attached because of the distance to, now we have a house and are planning a wedding and a future. I also think back to his first comment, “can’t wait to see how this goes” and I make myself laugh thinking “well, you buy a house with the e-girl” Our story just makes me giddy, I never would’ve dreamed to have what I have with him, we have grown so much too, I could keep going on a thousand little details that mean something to me, but I don’t want to make this entirely too long. this is mainly going to be a long rant because i've been stuck in such a deep pit this quarter. the amount of times i've gone on here to look at posts of other people asking for advice and trying to cope with a terrible quarter is crazy
for context, i'm an engineering major and this is only my second quarter here at ucla, which has given me a bit of solace and optimism for the rest of my time here. plus its winter quarter so everyone's been feeling shit so it helps to know im not alone. but its hard to maintain that optimism when i feel like ive been taking 2 steps forward and 5 steps backward. and holy hell has this quarter been such a mess. i've had to switch rooms twice and while im grateful that i'm able to visit home, i havent been able to as much as i did fall quarter, which i'm mentioning because i don't have many friends on campus. the friends that i have made, its hard to meet up with them, which of course is no one's fault since we're all busy with our own lives. just sucks as i'm sure a lot of people know. and its a given that we're not that close since we've only known each other for so long. so i find myself missing my friends back home so much.
then theres this struggle to stay on track with academics. i dont know what happened between senior year of high school and now, but its suddenly so difficult to be even a quarter as productive as i was senior year, which speaks volumes because i was already struggling back then. it was hard to motivate myself to go to class because i kept telling myself itll be easier to watch the recorded lectures and read the textbook bc then "i can just go at my own pace" since the profs for my classes this quarter arent the best at lecturing. but that is likely just be me making excuses for myself since i couldnt even get myself to do that. i didn't have any motivation to check out clubs like i said i would, to make up for not doing great in my classes. and now looking back, i was definitely holed up in my room a lot, and it was constantly isolating in those moments when i wasn't in contact with my high school friends. i tried to come to terms with the fact that this is not uncommon yk? a lot of other people are also in an unfamiliar environment and are trying to adjust as well. so i tried to enjoy these moments when i only have myself.
in the later weeks, i tried getting out more. i tried going to different places to do my work and it definitely helped, but eventually, i ended up getting distracted again bc the continual cycle of sitting there for the long long hours catching up on work was miserable. i kept comparing myself to other people even though i made so much progress in high school trying to overcome that imposter syndrome. especially when i looked at my high school friends bc they're so motivated to stay on track and i admire them so much for it. i tried to use that admiration as motivation; if they can do it, then surely i can at least get somewhere with my effort. but that didnt last very long, so that mentality ended up doing more harm than good when i wasn't able to be as productive as i had hoped.
i didn't have many mental breakdowns because it was more of a mental stalemate, or actually, emotional constipation until it became too much. i would just sit there wondering where shit went wrong and why i cant get myself back up; "why am i struggling now when i was doing somewhat okay first quarter? isnt it backwards that im struggling second quarter when i had first quarter to adapt?" it wasn't until week 8 that things finally came crashing down on me. personal family struggles, academic struggles, my insecurities overcoming me in my friendships making it hard to reach out to them, constant gender dysphoria, this overwhelming urge to just give up because what's the point if its so hard to find joy in the moment when everything feels so monotonous, etc.
then i had to drop a class after that because obviously 4 was too much and i was extremely stupid to be optimistic that i can handle it after getting a burst of motivation during winter break despite knowing damn well these bursts are short-lived. so now i only have 3 finals. but i haven't been able to study properly and two of them are both tomorrow. so now i have to get through this part of the cycle where i try to cope by telling myself that its okay as long as i pass the class. but its a dangerous game to play bc if i keep telling myself that, i feel like ill never be able to pick myself up to do better later. so now im here, trying to put my thoughts down so that i can make some sort of coherent thought process to get me through the rest of this week.
i've heard advice about focusing on learning the content rather than pulling out your hair stressing about the grade itself, trying not to blame yourself too much as long as you learn from your mistakes and do better in the future, understanding your limits, remembering that youre not alone esp for engineers since it seems we're all struggling (and even my counselor said to remember that its a D- to fail for engineering), etc etc. but why is it so difficult trying to get out of such a negative headspace?
so id like to ask if anyone's gotten up to this point or sees this part:
at this point in the quarter when there's only so much i can do to ensure my performance for my finals and my grade, what would you usually be telling yourself if you have been in a similar situation? if you've been able to pick yourself up from things like this, do you have any advice? is there any way to make it easier to accept that i'm likely not going to do very well on my finals and that while ill barely pass the class, it'll be a grade i wont be happy with?
i'm sorry if this all sounds silly or that i'm whining bc its only my second quarter or bc it doesn't sound that bad since i can't really go into detail, but my mental health has been terrible and i genuinely am worried about whether or not ill be able to get my shit together after this quarter. i want to believe that itll be alright and that, surely, it can't get worse from here, but that's what i've been telling myself since fall quarter and i feel like its only been a spiral downward. i feel like im stuck with nowhere to go, and i just want to see if there is any reassurance that it does get better. i hope that after finals week, i can look back at this post and think it was silly.

I got out of the Marine Corps as an 0311/0313 in 2016. Outside of medical records from boot camp and stuff, and PHAs, the only notable thing in my medical SRB is a document from my corpsman just stating that I reported a back injury and subsequent back and hip pain in the aftermath to my corpsman. I was on orders in Spain at the time. Didn’t get looked at or treatment at the time. Took some Motrin and changed my socks.
When I got out I submitted a claim for lower back pain, hip issues, lower back issues, depression and anxiety (which I started to develop but hadn’t been diagnosed yet), and hearing loss and tinnitus.
I submitted the claim, and was scheduled for a hearing test and was given 10% and just denied for everything else without any appointments from the VA at a large VA medical center nearby. I was in college at the time and then started going to to a local contracted VA clinic about my back and hip issues. They gave me a prescription for 500mg of naproxen twice a day to take for 60 days before my scheduled imaging. Shortly before my next appointment I got a call and the contract had been bought out by another company and basically I was going to have to restart with them with a first available consultation appointment months later than my previously scheduled appointment. I was working and going to school full time and fighting full fledged depression and severe anxiety and just gave up.
About a year later after being indecisive about my major, I decided to put college on hold and went into the National Guard as a 25B information technology specialist to get paid for some good schooling and gain some experience (currently getting my IT degree). I got out of the National Guard after 3 years in August 2021. I was not working on anything with the VA during those years because I was serving.
In February of 2022 I resubmitting a claim for the same stuff (also added for a hemorrhoid I first noticed a few days into a field exercise the same week I got pinned Corporal in the Corps). It came back denied as well. Got a call from a guy at the VA who said because the claim for the same stuff was already denied I would have to submit and appeal.
Since then I was just focused on getting care for my issues. Started getting psychiatric treatment for diagnosed depression and general anxiety disorder and chiropractic treatment and physical therapy for my back all through the VA.
Unfortunately the back hasn’t gotten much better. Basically since I got out of the Marine Corps I haven’t been able to sleep through a full night and as the years have gone on (and I’ve gotten out of shape/lost supporting muscle in my back) the pain has just increased dramatically. I resorted to sleeping on the floor on a folded up comforter, getting 2 new mattress in 3 years, sleeping on my electric recliner, or sleeping on the couch. Rotating to a different place each time I woke up in pain. It’s negatively affected me for years with work and school from oversleeping when I would wake up, take some pain medication, apply my ice pack and find a new comfortable place to get back to sleep.
I’m being treated for these things at a VA medical center without being rated for them and I’m worried that because of how my original claim was basically just thrown out that I won’t have much luck moving forward. Getting ready to go to my states department of veterans services to get assistance submitting what I assume will be a supplemental claim.
What are my odds moving forward to get this all corrected?

About a month ago I started talking to a new guy who went to my school. I met him through a friend and everything went great for the first two weeks of us talking until the first date. I thought it was a nice date but he pretty much ghosted me afterwards. I tried getting him back at first then gave up and started pursuing another guy. The first guy was still on my snapchat private story and where I pos ted about guy #2 so he knew I was back in the dating pool. Apparently, last Thursday and tonight he told my friend he still likes me and would be open to talking to me again but he claims I “didn’t seem interested”. I was confused by this because I was always the one starting conversations, I complimented his appearance multiple times (he never complimented me back btw), after our first date I made 3 attempts to schedule a 2nd date but always got turned down, and he would take multiple hours to respond to my texts whereas I would respond very quick. He’s also been replying to a few of my stories lately but when I try and start conversations with him again he’ll either leave me on read for be extremely dry. I’m just confused because he claims he wants to talk again yet shows absolutely no behavior of this and claims i’m the one uninterested. Any advice on what I should do or say to him? He’s a pretty lowkey guy so I feel like if i start getting mad at him for this he’ll ghost me again.

So we're playing abomination vaults. I'm the party's big ol' Orc Dragon Barbarian and I've been having a blast: hacking, biting, tripping, spookin'... last time I had this much fun with a martial I was playing D&D 4e. Having a whale of a time learning the system as AV is our first real foray into PF2.
My first PC died to two separate crit attacks in the same combat. RIP little Cam, you were too smol for this big scary world and not even a hero point could keep you attached to this mortal coil. This made me decide to do the opposite: beeg boi.
My Barb had a few build hiccups along the way, but chalked it up to learning as a group and retraining exists so no harm no foul. I was thinking of continuing to retrain and looking at my options: Dragon Disciple and become a bare-chested Dragonoid Orc Chad? Mauler to knock my enemies all down? Sentinel so I can KLANK KLANK KLANK and protect the party? Options abound! Either way, I'm the stalwart point-man of the group, here to help because it's the right thing to do (and get paid doing it).
But a few weeks ago, something... interesting happened. My Barb got bit by a ghoul. I fail the first save, succeed the second to stave off paralysis and we have a laugh that I now have the "zombie flu" and the munchies.
This week we fought another ghoul. Nothing out of the ordinary, we mowed down quite a few others. I demoralize, trip and grab the ghoul, letting the party get some nice attacks off on it. Then I get bit. I roll a 2 on my fort. The GM tells me I feel very bad and immediately take a chunk of negative damage, followed by getting paralyzed failing the second fort roll. I had him pinned long enough though, and the rest of the party finishes him off.
at this point i'm down nearly 40HP from my 72HP, another pc is barely at double digits and a few of us have some "need sleep to remove" conditions. We head up and out of the keep and I decide to get the nice bed and meal at the inn as a I sleep to recover.
That night my Barbarian rolls a save and fails. i forget the exact number, it was low but the overall total wasn't terrible. I take more damage but none of it healed overnight. Uh-oh.
We spend time in town, with the party's Oracle performing long-term care. I start getting better on the following night but immediately fail the next night on a decent roll.
At this point the party is worried. We head off to the local temple and after being told I look like something the otyugh unceremoniously dragged in, the healer gives us a small discount on a remove disease to try to make me better after hearing I got sick in service to protecting the town from clearly dangerous undead.
The casting fails to improve me and they start worrying. we pay for a second discounted casting of the level 3 spell and it goes off. I feel a bit better. I thank them for the work and go retrieve my axe from getting a striking rune added to it. At this point the party is largely in the mindset that I'm living on borrowed time, so I'll make the best of it until death takes me by applying gratuitous violence upon this megadungeon and go out a hero.
Session ends and we're all hyped for the next week. Yeah I may die, but this is the first time in YEARS some of us, who've been gaming since ye olden days of pre-2000's TTRPG, have been legit more scared of Ghoul Fever then the paralysis.
GM then shows his new purchase from a couple days before the session: The Book of the Dead. Turns out one of the stores in town had a St.Patrick's day sale on stuff "wearing" green (IE: anything in the store that had green on the covers or the box) and he picked it up on a discounted whim.
The fact while I may die, but then rise back up and continue the campaign not just as a Ghoul, but a vengeful and Ghoul-hunting Undead Slaying Barbarian Orc?
Character death has never held so many possibilities.

October 4, 2022- Submitted my CCW application in person to the LAPD office in Downtown LA
November 29, 2022- Got a call to schedule my interview for Jan 30, 2023
January 12, 2023 - Completed live scan
January 30, 2023 - Finished my in person interview now waiting for them to verify everything and said I should expect a call within a month to two months (if all goes well) to start my training.
February 9. 2023 - Just got the call from my interviewing detective that my application was approved and to start training. Once training is complete I need to email them my certificate and then they can process my CCW card.
February 19, 2023 - Completed 8 Hour training class, emailed completion same day
February 21, 2023 - Got confirmation that my training certificate was received and that a letter signed by LAPD chief would be sent out to me confirming the same. (Received letter 3 days later) Was then told that the next round of CCW cards would be issued late March and that I would get a phone call a week before to let me know when it was ready.
March 15, 2023 - Got a call that my CCW card would be ready for pick up the next week
March 21,2023 - Just picked up my CCW card, went down to LAPD HQ to sign some paperwork and confirm information on the card. Super fast super quick, in and out in 10 mins.

Baby is 5 months old and has been having false starts for a few weeks, now nightly. Great sleeper before 4 months hit!
Wakes up at 6:30 and I’ve been trying to push her wake window to 2.5 but she’s usually around 2.25. First nap lasts about an hour and a half give or take. She sleeps in her crib with a pacifier, no sleep sack like at night. She does not feed to sleep but usually needs a little bit of calming, though not fully asleep when I lay her for her naps. I don’t let he sleep past two hours.
Next wake window is around 2.5-2.75 but this nap she typically only sleeps about 45 minutes. Last nap of the day is typically shorter as well and I’ve been trying to lengthen her last wake window but without hysterics come bedtime. I know it’s a lot of change at once, but I’ve also been trying to move up her bedtime. Last WW of 2.5 hours and she goes to sleep independently whereas at 3 hours it’s fussing that progresses to crying, then hysterics.
She’s started waking up about 60 minutes into her sleep and will not fall back asleep independently. Fussing turns into hysterical crying within minutes. The thing is, she will pass out the second you pick her up. This happens 3-4x before eventually it’s 3 hours out from her last meal and she seems hungry. I’ll feed her and put her back in her crib and she’s good to go until morning (with 1 more feeding).
I will take any advice, thanks in advance!
ETA: we have a consistent bedtime routine of (bath when needed) feed, pjs, books, then bed and it takes 30 minutes total, without the bath
