Just last year at 26 the possibility of having ADHD was presented to me by a friend who said I had the telltale signs. I was one of those ignorant people who thought it was just bouncing off the walls energy, but when I read into it I realized that I related not only to the symptoms that fall under ADHD but that many of the testimonies I had heard from others brought me to tears as I had suffered in very similar ways.
I had just lost my health insurance and it's been a nearly year-long battle to get any kind of plan to get me to a doctor. I got my appointment. It was a month-long wait of worrying whether or not I genuinely had it, if it had been something else, or if I was just lying to myself and everything was just an excuse for my awful choices in life.
After almost an hour of answering questions, the doctor almost made me think I didn't have it, but he told me that I had a strong case for it and confirmed the diagnosis. All the guilt and worry I had been feeling had evaporated and I walked out feeling the peace of mind. He put me on 20mg of Vyvanse and I went home waiting for later in the day when I could go pick up my prescription.
Come 5 pm I'm at the store waiting in line, and then they tell me the price. $500 dollars for a month of Vyvanse. I can't afford that, but the pharmacist insures me she'll send the info over to my doctor so he can tell my insurance it's needed for my health. It'd take 72 hours and I'd be good to go. 72 hours passed today and it turns out nothing was done. I had a breakdown and spent a good two hours today just avoiding my family so I could bawl my eyes out.
Thankfully, I can call my doctor directly Monday and get this sorted out. After months and then days of waiting, I'm burned out and tired again. This awful thing called ADHD is hurting me every day and I can't describe that pain to anyone, but I'm sure many here who suffer from it understand how debilitating it is. I just hope and pray that when Monday rolls around I can get my problem sorted out.

So I was playing with my buddy today, and we had one mission, get in, get the drivers note and get out. We end up killing 2 out of 3 of a team in our way and pick them all up and form a 6 man. One of them needs to dump gas into the wells at Hydro, so we stop there and help him out. Now, onto Sarif Bay for the Driver's Note. Only one problem, we get there and it's gone, oh well, we can get it on another deployment. Now times running down and radiation is spresding, time to head for extraction, we get there and the flare goes up just as we approach. Time to wipe out the enemies, chopper gets there, my buddy shouts, "they had the drivers note!"
Maybe it's silly or insignificant, but random chance encounters Luke these are why I play the game.

Today in Montgomery, AL there was a protest against the death penalty in the state of Alabama. The reason for the protest is the uniquely fucked up system that Alabama has, and the legal infrastructure which is horrifying.
In Alabama there is a law that allows a judge to overturn a jury verdict and push an execution to happen. 30% of prisoners on death row are sentenced this way in Alabama.
There are a number of botched executions with 3 in Alabama last year alone. Governor Kay Ivey paused and did an internal investigation and only came back with a more efficient method of execution, including gas chambers and firing squad.

In the SOCAL area, got a quote for a Bosch AC system replacement. Below is the quote - looking for input on whether this is a good price given the geographic location of just outside of LA?
They said the duct work bit is optional / up to us - they'd recommend it given the age (21 years - AC and duct is original to the home) but not that it's in bad shape now either ...
Finally - I thought the Bosch systems required their own thermostats, but company noted the Honeywell thermostats we have would work fine with it?

Background: My parents got divorced when I was a child. So young that I don’t really have any memories of them being together. I was raised by a single father along with a younger sister. For ~18 years it was just the 3 of us. All living in the UK but parents were raised in South-East Asia.
My mum was in the picture, and my parents were amicable, but that was the extent of the relationship. A “Christmas Eve at one house and Christmas Day at the other” situation.
Situation: In 2018 my mum is about to be priced out of her rented flat by her landlord and my dad decided to invite her to move back in with us, in a 3 bedroom home, whilst my at sister attended University. The condition being that instead of paying increased rent my mum would financially support my sister whilst she’s at University. I admire my dad so much for that. With my sister away at University, my mum took her bedroom for the duration of her stay.
Come 2020 my sister graduates and comes home and needs her bedroom back but instead of my mum moving out, my dad gives his bedroom to my sister, my mum remains in my sisters old bedroom. And he moves onto the couch. Why? Why would a man give up his bedroom for his ex-wife in his own home? How do I explain to anybody that this is the reality of my living situation? I can’t. I found it embarrassing. That my father, whose house this is, is quite content with sleeping on the couch whilst his ex-wife has a bedroom. Read that last line again. I tell myself this is a temporary thing…
Then the pandemic hits. That’s 2 years of living like this. 2 years where my dad was content sleeping on his living room couch. Why was he so content?
Sure, the extra income helped but it was because he was raised in South-East Asia. Because he was the eldest of 7 siblings. Because as the eldest, he’s expected to make sacrifices for his younger siblings and that over there, even today, 7 siblings can live in the same bedroom, but you won’t find 7 beds. Which meant he grew up sleeping on the floor, on a couch or as many of them crammed into the bed as possible. That was the reality of his upbringing. Before our 3 bedroom house in the UK, he raised us in a 2 bedroom flat. It was easy when my sister and I were young and could live in the same bedroom. But we grew up. And housing can be/is difficult to find in the UK. Especially when you’re a single father not making a lot of money. So he gives up his bedroom there too for us. He’s on the couch for his kids.
So for him, he didn’t need a bedroom. He was content sleeping on a couch in his own home whilst his kids, and the mother of his kids, each had bedrooms. The man could sleep on a moving train standing up if he wanted to. It didn’t bother him in the slightest. And we’re so living in a weird situation but getting on with it.
Which brings me to today… calling our housing association because my father recently passed away whilst on holiday in his childhood country. I need to apply for succession rights to the 3 bedroom home that 4 of us lived in. And my own embarrassment got the better of me.
Speaking to the housing officer about our agreement he sees there was only 3 of us on the tenancy agreement. And housing needs means that the remaining 2 occupants, my sister and I, may have to move to a 2 bedroom place instead. My dad worked too hard and sacrificed so much to get this house. So I suck it up and tell him… I have to tell him my mum has been living here too. That there still remains 3 occupants. So naturally the housing officer asks how that worked. How can 4 people can live in a 3 bedroom house? How does my mum and fathers ex-wife, also live on the property? “Were they together? No.” “But they slept in the same room? No.” I try to avoid saying it but I need to explain the living arrangement. And as soon as I say it, the officers tone changed. He’s judging my father. “How does his ex-wife have a room and he’s on the couch?”. The way he uttered those words - I’m reeling in embarrassment.
He’s ugly about it. Doesn’t understand it. Why would he? It’s not normal. No self-respecting man would do that. Except my father would.
So the phone call ends and all I’ve managed to do is make the living situation seem really dodgy because I wanted to avoid telling a complete stranger that my father was happy to live his life on the living room couch so that his kids and ex-wife can each have a bedroom. Because it TRULY didn’t bother him. That I’m not embarrassed FOR him but BY him. That he truly was a saint but I could never come to terms with sacrifices he was willing to make.

Hello all - I am in the market for a car, and I saw one I liked and was ready to purchase today. I also had a trade in.
The car salesman lowballed my trade at 17k (which is what I owe on it, I kinda effed up telling him what I owed) when I was offered 21k at CarMax and KBB values between 21k and 24k. After some negotiation, I got to $18k for my trade. The car salesman was kinda pissed
I’m financing thru my bank, and they were requesting the full amount of the car with tags, title, etc. Once the salesman gave me the amount to give my bank, I noticed something was off. I was being charged 2.2k for some accessory I never requested or need, the salesman then took off 1.9k but said the other $300 was non-negotiable and cannot be removed. I told the salesman to either up my trade or lower the car price to combat the “non-negotiable” accessory (I think it was called a security etch or something) as I don’t want or need it.
After asking that, the car salesman aggressively snatched the paper with the pricing info out my hand and said “I guess I’ll try to do that too!” In a sarcastic and rude way. Without second thought, I got up and left.
His boss (general manager) called, emailed and texted me and apologized on the car salesman behalf and said they are willing to lower the price/increase trade in value to compensate for my bad experience.

I found mixed information about the T14 battery. I found some reports of 8h of Web browsing or 6h of video playback, which is actually already quite short for today's standards. But some others report even much shorter runtimes. I even found reports of 2-3 hours, which I can harly belive because sounds more like an early 2000s notebook. What are your experiences?

Hi everyone! My normally energetic dog, Cash started to develop some weird symptoms Tuesday night. Her belly was rock hard, she yelped every time I touched her and had low energy and low appetite. We went to the vet first thing Wednesday where they said she had gas and a slight fever but gave her antibiotics and sucralfate. She seemed better that evening but Thursday morning it was the same but she seemed to be in even more pain and I was worried about a possible obstruction so we rushed her back to the vet. They did blood work and X-rays. Everything appeared normal, nothing seen on X-rays except gas. The blood work did show her protein levels were a little high and her liver levels were a little high but they explained it could be because she was a little dehydrated. They also prescribed famotidine because the gas had moved to a different region. Once again she was a little better that evening but at night she had a swollen and hard belly and wouldn't let anyone touch her. I'm just looking for advice on how I can help her. The vets told me it's nothing but gas but she's obviously in a lot of pain and it doesn't seem to be ending. Should I just wait longer for the medicine to work? I'm so freaked out because she's normally such an energetic dog and I've read a ton of horror stories about bloat. No other symptoms but she did throw up once today but the vet explained it might be because she has not been eating.
