2023.03.30 20:07 demitri-chess Hair oiling advice needed!

Hi, I have 40 inches long, straight/slightly wavy, very dense hair with a fine texture. It's starting to feel dry lately and looks a lot more frizzy than a few years back (I do regularly trim it and eat lots of protein, so I guess my hair is just lacking hydration). I figured it might be time to give hair oiling a go. However, I have absolutely no clue where to start... It's like every content creator or blog contradicts the other. Some say you should never put oil on your scalp, others say you cannot grow healthy hair unless you regularly oil your scalp. Some say you can leave oil in your lengths for multiple days, and some day you should immediately wash it out the next morning (or only apply the oil before you shower). Some say you should oil once a week, others say you should do it one or multiple times a day. I am not even sure what kind of oils I need for my hair type... Can anyone give me advice out of experience? đŸ„Č

2023.03.30 20:05 DTG_Bot This Week at Bungie - 03/30/2023

Source: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/Article/destiny-2-twab-3-30-23
This week at Bungie, we’re still recovering from the emotional roller coaster that was last week’s story mission and this week’s remembrance centering around Amanda Holliday. While we’re still making our best attempt at pretending we aren't sobbing messes over our favorite mechanic, we did want to share our preview of the mid-Season weapons update, a fun behind-the-scenes look at development animation horrors, and an update on what our Player Support team is working hard on.
Here’s what we’re going to be digging into this week:
  • A preview of our mid-Season update from the team.
  • Answering a question about one particular weapon players are searching for.
  • A behind-the-scenes look at placeholder animations regarding that gun.
  • Update from our Player Support team on known issues and coming updates.
  • The community’s favorite #AOTW and #MOTW picks of the week.
In case you missed last week’s blog, here’s a helpful TLDR:
  • We said farewell to the man behind our beloved Commander, Lance Reddick.
  • Shared a quick wrap-up of a recent Crucible blog post.
  • Shared some changes to the Root of Nightmares raid.
    • A bonus heads up that Master and Challenge Mode begins this week.
You can check out last week’s update here to learn more!
Before we move on to the actual TWAB, we wanted to pay tribute to the incredible Amanda Holliday. Last week, we all said goodbye to a character that proudly walked the Guardian path in every way but her title. Holliday gave her life during Season of Defiance, and she did so in the most Amanda way possible: like a compassionate Badass with a capital ‘B.’ No matter her trials, her heart never shied away from caring about those around her, even when her mind begged her to be more reserved. We saw it with her friendship with Crow, and against all odds, we saw it in the small ways she showed our Vanguard that she was there to support them. We also saw it each time we spoke with her, even if we just needed a little ship tune-up.
Image Linkimgur
On a more personal note, I worked on aircraft when I was active duty military, so I always looked up to Amanda as a character and felt a special bond with her. I could see myself in her. I wanted to be her. She was a Light and had a strength I don’t even think she knew about. It has always been inspiring, and her journey will continue to inspire long after her sacrifice.
Amanda Holliday gave up her life to help those around her, for those who needed protection. Needed safety. She sacrificed herself for a cause she believed in, and it’s our job as Guardians to make her proud.

Time For a Difficult(y) Conversation

We've been keeping an eye on community feedback on overall difficulty since Lightfall's launch, and we have some changes in today's update and future updates that retune certain experiences. In today’s update, we’ve reduced Legend and Master enemy HP scalars for non-boss units, which we felt were a little higher than we liked:
  • Reduced the enemy HP scalar in all non-raid/dungeon Legend and Master activities by 10%.
  • Reduced the co-op enemy HP scalar in Legendary Avalon by 33% in a full fireteam.
We've also made some additional reductions to Commendations requirements so players can reach their milestones at a more enjoyable pace:
  • Reduced Hawthorne's weekly challenge Commendations target from 20 to 5.
  • Removed Guardian Rank objectives that require players to give Commendations from Ranks 7, 8, and 9.
  • Further reduced Commendation score requirements for Guardian Ranks 7-9:
    • Rank 7: 100 (was 460)
    • Rank 8: 250 (was 790)
    • Rank 9: 500 (was 1,290) ##Mid-Season Preview, Weapons Edition
Hello everyone, and welcome to another mid-Season weapons balance pass preview! Senior Design Lead Chris Proctor here. This is not going to be a huge one, but we feel that the changes we do have are impactful to the sandboxes in both PvP and PvE. Also, as a note in case you missed it, in last week's patch, we corrected an issue with Target Lock that was making it significantly more forgiving to use than intended, which originally would have been included in this patch, but we felt the change warranted being pulled forward.

PvE Primary Weapon Balance

We wanted to see how the PvE sandbox shook out after the release of Lightfall, not necessarily to see if primary weapons needed a buff, but more to see how much we should buff them. We've done quite a bit of testing on these numbers, in content ranging from Heroic Nightfalls to Legendary campaigns, all the way up to Grandmasters and we think that the changes are impactful without invalidating the difficulty of the appropriate levels.
Image Linkimgur
In Heroic and Legendary content, you should be more likely to one-shot red-bar enemies depending on your weapon type, and even in GMs, we have shaved how many shots it takes and time it takes to kill for the below weapons against red and orange bar enemies. We want to add that we do not believe we are done with tuning weapon damage in PvE, this is merely a starting point, and we will revisit it in the coming Seasons to make sure everything has a place in the sandbox.
  • Increased the damage of the following weapon types against red and orange bar enemies in PvE:
    • Auto Rifles face steep competition from Submachine Guns (SMGs) within parts of their range, and having a longer possible engagement distance wasn't doing enough to offset it. We don't want Auto Rifles to defeat combatants faster than SMGs, as that would flip the script and invalidate the lower range options instead, but we did feel like we could close the gap substantially.
      • Auto Rifles - 25%
    • Pulse Rifles and Hand Cannons have been considered weaker in harder PvE content for some time, so we wanted to make sure the buff we gave them was substantial, while at the same time keeping them below the lower ranged options in terms of pure lethality. Pulse Rifles have struggled, being less effective than Scout Rifles despite, for the most part, having a less effective range. We also put Sidearms into this group because they similarly lagged in damage output compared to the longer ranged SMGs. At these values, Pulse Rifles should be in a more reasonable spot, Hand Cannons should feel like they pack more of a punch, and Sidearms should fall much better into the "high risk, high reward" category.
      • Pulse Rifles, Hand Cannons, and Sidearms - 20%
    • Scout Rifles - We need to be careful tuning Scout Rifles up too much, because they offer the benefits of very safe engagement ranges paired with unlimited ammo, so making them too strong instantly turns most endgame PvE content into "sit as far away as possible and plink," which we want to avoid. That being said, after the changes to the other weapons, they felt like they were trailing just a little too far behind, so we have moved them up as well.
      • Scout Rifles - 10%
  • SMGs and Bows - We tuned the rest of the primary weapons using these two archetypes as benchmarks, but as mentioned above, we will continue to keep an eye on the primary weapon balance in PvE and may revisit their tuning as needed.

Weapon Archetypes

  • Submachine Guns
    • Aggressive Frame SMGs have been very strong in the PvP meta for the last couple of months, with a handful of outliers taking most of the credit. The IKELOS SMG was something of a mystery to us, as we continually felt, and got reports, that the gun seemed to have much better stability than its stats would indicate it should, compared to other SMGs. Originally, the IKELOS SMG was built back in the Warmind era when we had fewer guidelines on how to keep weapons balanced, and upon doing a deeper investigation we found that some custom tuning had been added to the weapon's scope to give it a recoil reduction effect. For comparison, the recoil reduction tuning was like having an effect nearly equivalent to Zen Moment at max strength, and always active. We have removed that custom tuning, and the recoil should now feel in-line with other SMGs.
      • IKELOS SMG:
        • Removed some tuning in the custom scope causing these weapons to have significantly less recoil than intended. The recoil is now in line with other Aggressive Frame SMGs.
      • We are aware that this change in isolation, while noticeable, is unlikely to put much of a dent in Aggressive Frame SMGs current dominance, so we have a larger change to reduce the damage of the Aggressives sub-family that will release alongside Season 21. The change will be targeted at shifting the resiliency threshold where the gun can achieve its optimal 0.67s Time to Kill (TTK) down to a lower value, to force a more reasonable 0.77s TTK against most players, while also decreasing their forgiveness of missed crits.
  • Fusion Rifle
    • When we last touched Fusion Rifles, Shotguns had seen a big drop in effectiveness, and we were concerned that Rapid-Fire Frame Fusions would rise up to take their place. As such, we preemptively nerfed Rapid-Fires pretty hard. In today's sandbox, this is less of a concern due to the renewed strength of Shotguns following the airborne effectiveness and pellet spread changes, so we have walked back some of the damage nerf we made to Rapid-Fires. This change will push them back to defeating all resilience levels in 7 bolts and give them a decent bump to ease of use.
      • Increased burst damage by 15 (damage per burst goes from 245 to 260, damage per bolt goes from 27.2 to 28.9).
      • Damage in PvE is unchanged.
  • Trace Rifle
    • Trace Rifles are in a bit of a precarious spot in the Crucible. In the right hands, they can kill very quickly from long ranges, even outside of their optimal time to kill (TTK). On the other hand, they can be difficult to use, and they often feel heavily ammo limited if you are not hitting the optimal TTK. We did a lot of experimenting with them for this change, including multiple combinations of damage and crit ratios, and settled on the values below as the highest we could push their damage output before they became frustrating to deal with in Crucible. Interestingly, with damage any higher than this the feeling was that they had a surplus of ammo, especially in 6v6 modes, and could often net 2 kills per Special brick picked up, which was concerning. Once we moved their damage values, they still felt like they needed a little bit more, and we wanted to lean harder into making them feel good to use, so we increased the effect that stability has on reducing flinch at the high end of the stat. We will monitor this change when it goes live and may revisit the ammo situation in a future update if their effectiveness remains low.
      • Increased base damage by 4% (base damage goes from 12 to 12.5).
      • Reduced precision hit multiplier from 1.4x to 1.35x (crit damage goes from 16.8 to 16.9).
      • Increased the effectiveness of stability at reducing flinch by 10% at 100 stat (scales down at lower values).
  • Sniper Rifle
    • Rapid-Fire Frame Sniper Rifles have long struggled to find a place in both the PvP and PvE meta. In PvP, their inability to kill with two body shots puts them on uneven footing with other Snipers, and in PvE their fast RPM but standard inventory sizes mean you constantly feel low on ammo. To address these concerns and differentiate them from other Sniper sub-families, we have reduced their recoil by 50%. This means hitting crits on a boss or Champion in PvE is much easier, and taking rapid follow-up shots in PvP is too. We have also increased their inventory stat by 30%, which should give them a lot more rounds to play with in PvE content.
      • Reduced recoil by 50%.
      • Increased total ammunition (magazine + reserves) by 30%.

Exotic Weapons

  • Final Warning - Final Warning being able to track targets through barricades, while funny in some cases, felt pretty unfair to play against and was not an intended mechanic of the weapon.
    • Can no longer mark targets through Titan Barricades.
  • Tarrabah - This weapon is something we have been keeping an eye on for a while, and with the spotlight being shown on Aggressive Frame SMGs, it felt like Tarrabah has had its time in the sun. When the weapon was introduced, there was substantially less survivability in PvP, and the intention was that it would take nearly two full engagements to get Ravenous Beast active, which made it one of the costliest perk activators we had in game and justified the extreme power it offered. As the sandbox has progressed, however, survivability has increased, and it has become possible for Ravenous Beast to be very close to activating after a single engagement. This has meant that savvy players could purposefully bait or take a small amount of damage (like standing in a grenade's effect) to top off the perk, and then have it active for the second engagement. The increased ease of access has made Ravenous Beast an outlier in today's Crucible, and we were left with the options of reducing the potency of the perk itself or trying to make its activation more difficult, and we decided to work with the latter. This reduction in energy granted from taking damage puts the onus back on the user to deal damage and shifts the balance of the perk back towards a difficult activator that justifies its reward of a potent effect. In addition, we are continuing our mission to address zoom outliers, and this felt like a good time to reduce the zoom of Tarrabah back down to something more in line with the rest of the SMG archetype.
    • Reduced the amount of Ravenous Beast energy generated when taking damage from 3% to 1%.
    • Reduced zoom from 16 to 15.
  • Revision Zero - Fourth Times the Charm (FTTC) working when Revision Zero went into Hunter's Trace is a fun and intended interaction, but it caused some unfortunate issues. Activating it too early while the perk was up caused the weapon to overflow its limited mag size and return to the normal Pulse Rifle mode. We have made a fix so that FTTC can continue to work while Hunter's Trace is active, but it will not be able to grant ammo until all shots have been expended. This means you can still enjoy the 2 free shots provided by the perk as long as you hit all 4 Hunter's Trace rounds without worrying about being kicked out of the mode. In addition, we have buffed the damage of the Hunter's Trace rounds by 25% in PvE, and we have buffed the HĂ€kke Heavy Burst rounds by 75% in PvE. This will now make it more of a tradeoff when choosing between the origin perks, either dealing more damage in the primary mode but charging Hunter's Trace more slowly or dealing less damage but charging the bonus shots more quickly.
    • Fourth Times the Charm will now be reset when entering Hunter's Trace.
      • This will prevent the issue of firing a single shot while in Hunter's Trace and being forcibly returned to Pulse Rifle mode when FTTC activates.
    • Increased PvE damage of the Hunter's Trace rounds by 25%.
    • Increased PvE damage of the HĂ€kke Heavy Burst rounds by 75%.Video Link ####At Season 21 Launch
  • A sweeping rework of weapon hip fire reticles to better display useful information to players (accuracy, aim assist, charge state, Exotic perk state, etc.).
  • The Aggressive Frame SMG nerf.
  • A 10% PvE buff to Sniper Rifle damage.
  • Buffs/adjustments to more than a dozen Exotic weapons, including Graviton Lance and Salvation's Grip.

    In the Future

  • We are going to be taking a look at how zoom interacts with damage fall off, and the base damage fall off ranges of all weapons in general.
  • Zoom, and perks like Rangefinder that manipulate zoom, have become a requirement on several weapon types, either to compete at all in the sandbox, or to allow the weapon to exceed its intended engagement ranges. This has led us to begin to consolidate zoom values on certain weapon archetypes, which removes an important lever that we can use to modify weapon feel, given the effect zoom has on field of view, recoil reduction, and aim assist falloff.
  • We will be investigating decoupling damage falloff from zoom (this would be paired alongside a refresh of the base damage falloff values to compensate), which should allow us to better control the engagement ranges of individual archetypes, while at the same time letting us continue to use zoom as a tuning knob for weapon feel without dramatically changing their performance.

The Case of the Missing Khvostov, A Peek Behind the Developer Curtain

Cinematics Director James Myers has an answer that many of you have been asking: “Where the heck is the Khvostov weapon seen in cutscenes?!” Funny story about that, we’ll let Myers take this one.
Myers: During the production of Lightfall, a certain story beat was pitched related to reluctantly aiming a weapon, and we quickly realized that we would need to animate that moment much more specifically than we typically handle Guardians pointing weapons in previous scenes. Many players have noticed some of the sillier results in some real-time scenes, even when we avoid extreme poses (like our Guardian holding a Bow at the end of The Witch Queen.) So, I spun up a thread with the studio leads and suggested that we decide on a “default weapon” that we could feature if we ever needed something specific like this. I suggested the Khvostov because it’s the very first weapon every player receives in Destiny. Literally every Guardian has tinkered around with this weapon, so it felt like the right call.
At the same time, new systems were being developed that would feature Guardians (like Commendations), and similarly, there were a lot of visual bugs popping up with certain weapons like Glaives and Bows. The animation team was stretched thin closing on cinematics, and a new set of animations was, unfortunately, something that would cost us other content. Because of that, we made the decision to use the same default logic in the instances where a visual bug would detract from the quality bar we aim to achieve.
Regarding helmets seen in in-engine cinematics, I have seen some folks post screenshots of their Guardians from recent real-time cinematics, and many were helmetless! Something we started doing in Lightfall is respecting the player's choice of helmet or no helmet in real-time scenes, where appropriate (we'll keep your helmet on in the vacuum of space for example). But for the most part, if you choose "hide helmet," you'll see your Guardian's face. And if you don't, you won't unless there's a special exception (I don't want to make that promise too airtight, just in case!). There is one caveat to keep in mind: the Season 20 cinematics were in production before we finalized this plan, so from Season 21 onward this will be consistent!
As a little bonus “sneak peek,” some animators in the film industry were recently discussing how they push animation poses in ridiculous ways to get the framing just right on camera, making for better shot composition and framing. It stirred up some interesting conversation, so we figured we'd show you one of these reframings with an example from the Season 20 intro cinematic. Whatever it takes to get the shot, y’know?

To Strand or Not to Strand, It's Not Really a Question at This Point

2023.03.30 20:02 KhoaFraelich A pivotal part to modern cars also makes it harder to protect from thieves

I have spent a fair amount of time researching antitheft devices recently. In my discussions with customers and vendors I have come to realize that most people don’t have a solid grasp on the depth of digitization present in contemporary vehicles. Given that, let’s take a moment and break it down.

Digitization was around in a limited fashion a decade earlier, but for the most part, vehicles from the early 2000s onward were the first to see widespread use of multiplexing, a digital communication network. Prior to this, vehicles were 100-per-cent analog. In other words, when the driver wanted to open their window on a power-window-equipped vehicle, they pushed the down button. By pushing that button an electrical switch was closed and a circuit was completed, like the light switch in your home. That circuit did one job, which was to power the window motor and send the window in a downward direction until you either released the button or the glass reached the bottom and shut itself off. When you pushed the up button, the electrical polarity reversed, and the motor went in the opposite direction. The two wires carrying the electricity served no other purpose. All electrical circuits in vehicles of those eras have the same mono use wiring functionality.

Enter multiplexing, where a single wire set could carry multiple signals. For example, your driver’s door power-window motor, power-door lock and remote-mirror commands can all be carried in a single wire set. A module under the dashboard typically encodes the information into a digital format and then another receiver module in the door decodes the information and then performs the task commanded by the driver. While it is far more complicated, this digitization reduced the overall amount of wiring running through the vehicle and is the key factor in the evolution of the automobile and advancement of safety features.

The digital network within an automobile has evolved and standardized into what is known as a Controller Area Network (CAN) bus. A modern vehicle can have as many as 70 control units onboard that all need a robust communication path. Your vehicle’s Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) and other safety items communicate on an isolated, high-speed network allowing your airbags to deploy in an instant when a collision occurs. Non-safety items communicate on a slower network.

So, why should you care? Well, when researching your own aftermarket antitheft devices, you need to consider the implications of devices that tap into the CAN bus. Many advanced kill-switch-style devices interrupt the CAN bus and require driver input prior to their vehicle being able to start. For example, the driver will have to push several buttons such as the defrost button or cruise-control master switch in a secret sequence to unlock the aftermarket theft module kill switch feature.

While this unit may be effective at preventing your vehicle from being stolen, there is a downside. The moment the vehicle has any electrical issues the antitheft unit will be suspect. These units are wired into critical onboard-vehicle systems, but manufacturers of these aftermarket antitheft units provide little, if any information on their operation or diagnostics. A technician will have little choice but to recommend complete removal of these units before any other vehicle diagnostics can proceed. Add to that, whatever factory electrical item that has actually failed in a vehicle will almost always result in some dealer service staff blaming either the sloppy installation or the aftermarket unit itself. This will be a problem for you when a warranty repair is being denied because of an installed aftermarket electrical device.

Your automotive questions answered
Dear Lou:

My wife and I bought a 2017 Subaru Outback 3.6 and recently were told it will need a “D” service every 100,000 kilometres that costs more than $1,500 to change spark plugs and fluids. Are we being hosed by the dealer? The service includes.

Replace spark plugs
Inspect engine and cabin air filters - replace if necessary
Replace transmission and differential fluids (FR & RR)
Inspect and adjust all fluid levels
Test battery with midtronics tester
Inspect operation of all lights, wipers, and washers
Test coolant, inspect hoses and clamps
Remove, inspect and service front and rear brakes
Check under body for damage
Wheel alignment (recommended, extra charge)
Regards, Don

The 100,000-kilometre interval D major service is the largest single regular maintenance service that your vehicle will see. It does cover a fair amount of items and fluids when in comparison to the minor A, B or C services, which are mostly just glorified oil changes and inspections only. I would consider $1,500 to be typical at most dealerships. Other than visiting an independent repair facility for a more cost-effective alternative, you have little choice.

Hi Lou,

I have a 2020 Honda Accord sport, six-speed. About every 4-6 weeks when I go to start it, the engine cranks longer than normal before it starts. Like 5-8 seconds versus just a couple seconds or less normally. Highly intermittent problem that I can’t find a common factor for. It always starts first time even when doing the long start. Cranks strongly, not weather dependent as it will do this in summer and winter, dry or rain, first start of the day or semi-warm engine. I haven’t asked Honda about it as the odds it will do it for them if I made an appointment seem low. Any thoughts?

Tom - Guelph, Ont.

I’ve researched several of my professional forums and databases for your model and the terms similar to and including long crank and I am getting zero results. Unfortunately, this means that until a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminates, you are going to have a hard time getting your complaint to hit home at the dealership. I would normally advise you to record the long crank with your cell phone to help demonstrate it, but with it only acting up every 4-6 weeks this will be difficult to predict.

With a 5-8 second crank and subsequent immediate start, I would automatically assume a fuel-related cause. Somehow the high-pressure fuel required to start the engine is not present and the fuel pump takes 5-8 seconds to replenish and build sufficient fuel pressure. 2023.03.30 19:58 Lava_Axe "God" Fruit Abilities [Spoilers for Anime Only/End of Wano]

Recently, YouTuber Dak's Sake made a video talking about something I've always held as head-canon regarding what separates so-called "God Fruits" from Devil Fruits:
I won't spoil all his content, but my own head-canon is that these "apex" Devil Fruits gives their user abilities indicative of all three established types of Devil Fruits.
We already have the two-type crossover precedent:
So, I'd like to believe the "God" Fruits occupy the triple overlap at the middle of this Venn diagram (as illustrated by Dak's).
First off, I don't think there has ever been anything referred to as a "god fruit" in the source material. The Gorosei reveal that the Gomu Gomu no Mi's real name is the Mythical Zoan Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. That's all. Elsewhere, Who's-Who tells us a story that slaves attributed the epithet "Sun God" to a being of liberation and hope, Nika. Luffy's Devil Fruit is never called "Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Sun God Nika." I'm not saying Luffy is unrelated to Nika, just that, technically, Luffy is so far just a Mythical Zoan.
That being said, we do already have evidence that Luffy's fruit is different.
  1. It's the first and so far only Mythical Zoan named for a "fictional" mythical character (no direct parallel in our world)
  2. Luffy's powers confuse Kaidou: Kaidou in Chapter 1045 via VIZ:
    1. "Given that you're transferring your rubber power to other things...I suppose I can interpret this as the awakening of your Paramethia powers. [However] body transformations like that are the trademark of Zoan powers!"
    2. You could now point to this for pushing that Kaidou hasn't Awakened nor has he seen an Awakening of a Mythical Zoan; and/or->
    3. Luffy's power truly is different
No questions asked, Luffy has shown powers of Zoan, Paramecia, and Awakened Paramecia. So what are his Logia abilities, if mine and Dak's theory/head-canon holds? Logia are all natural elements (the kanji literally just mean "nature system") so what's Luffy's element?
Simply I just think it's freedom, and the abstract nature of the "element" is another thing that separates his fruit from others. I think it's connected to his nebulous, amorphous flaming hair in his Awakened form, specifically hinted by his as-of-yet unexplained ability to manifest goggles from his hair in Ch. 1070. (We have a precedent for Logia creating constructs and not just becoming intangible with most of the Logia Admirals). This ability to freely manipulate his body and and pull out constructs from it is starting to blur the line between an elastic physiology and full shapeshifting.

TL;DR: Luffy's "god fruit" is unique and will have powers of all three DF types. We've already seen Para and Zoan, but his Logia will be something like "freedom" indicated by his ability to just freely change his body's shape beyond elasticity and create constructs from his flaming hair.

2023.03.30 19:54 StepwiseUndrape574 GTA 6 Still AWOL, But Rockstar Announces Big Updates For GTA Online And Red Dead Online

Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) is an elusive beast that has eluded [official] detection for years. The current “big dog” Grand Theft Auto V was first released way back in September 2013, and has been available across two console generations (Xbox 360/PS3 and Xbox One/PS4). It will even be available natively on next-generation Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles, which is quite unprecedented in the gaming realm. So, while Rockstar seems reticent to just letting us wait in agony for any news on GTA 6, it is at least giving us some new updates on its two current hot properties: GTA Online and Red Dead Online.
In the case of the incredibly popular (and highly lucrative) GTA Online, Rockstar says that a big “summer update” is coming for gamers with a “fun mix of diverse” content to partake in. Even more interesting is the fact that the developers indicate that its “biggest update ever” is coming before the end of 2020. That update will include new Heists that will take place in a completely new location, which has definitely piqued our interests.
red dead online As for Red Dead Online, its next big update is actually arriving next week; on July 28th to be exact. Red Dead Online hasn’t exactly been teaming with new content, as the last big update for the online component of Red Dead Redemption 2 dropped way back in December 2019. However, Rockstar is promising a new Frontier Pursuit mode with a focus on “naturalism” and a new battle pass-type component, which is conveniently named Outlaw Pass. Finally, Rockstar says that it has addressed tons of bugs with the game and has taken community feedback to heart with this release, which is definitely appreciated.
In addition to the game updates on the way, Rockstar also took the time to address the well-being of its online communities. “We are also committed to ensuring that our games are fun for everyone and as safe as possible from modders, cheaters, hackers, and those who seek to harass other players,” said the company in its blog post.
“So far this year, we have taken action on hundreds of thousands of players caught violating community rules across both games. Please help us keep our communities safe and fun by reporting any sort of cheating either directly in-game or via our dedicated web reporting tools for both Red Dead Online and GTA Online.”
It's good to see that Rockstar is cracking down on those looking to spoil the fun for everyone, and its methods for “taking out” such offenders is among the best in the industry.

2023.03.30 19:47 LunchBox1211 Sword Maintenance

I have a longsword and a rapier. Neither see any real use, they're mostly just for decoration, but I still should clean them every now and then, especially the longsword, since it gets shown off the most. I don't know what type of steel is used for either blade.
That said, would it be a good idea to use baby oil and a microfiber rag to clean them?

2023.03.30 19:42 ll--o--ll Return to home-away format: A rebalancing act for IPL teams Cricbuzz

Return to home-away format: A rebalancing act for IPL teams Cricbuzz
If the last season represented a new start for all of the teams in the IPL, then so does this one. While the 2022 edition took place after the hard reset of a mega auction, leaving the 10 franchises to assess the balance and depth of their squads, 2023 will be much the same as the tournament returns to a home-and-away format for the first time in three years.
This will be a game changer for all of the teams, who picked entirely new combinations ahead of last year's tournament but then saw the group stages take place at just three venues across Maharashtra. How will they fare now that they will be playing a large portion of their games on home territory, as well as travelling to a wider range of away venues? In assessing who might benefit from this change, let's take a look at four pivotal teams.
We will start with the two fan favourites - Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians - who finished at the foot of the table last season, and see if the switch in format might assist a revival. Then we will look at two teams who have performed well and appear to still have the team combinations to thrive in switch in format might assist a revival. Then we will look at two teams who have performed well and appear to still have the team combinations to thrive in this year's tournament.

Chennai Super Kings

A crucial factor is that CSK have always been a difficult team to beat at home, winning 39 of their 55 matches at the M.A.Chidambaram Stadium for a win rate of 70.91%. Now that they are returning, can they make it their fortress once again with their current resources?
CSK finished ninth in the table last year, managing just four wins out of 14 matches and only avoiding the wooden spoon on net run rate. Since then they have hired the services of Ben Stokes for a whopping price, the experienced Ajinkya Rahane and Sisanda Magala (after original signing Kyle Jamieson was ruled out with injury).
It's fair to say there will not be much change to their overall balance, since one can assume that Stokes will replace the seasoned matchwinner Dwayne Bravo - although they do play different roles, as Bravo was a bowling allrounder and Stokes is a batting allrounder. Rahane comes in for the retired Robin Uthappa, but is likely to serve as a back-up batsman given that he is an opener and CSK already have the seasoned pair of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway up top.

Core Playing Combination

  1. Devon Conway (Overseas) 2. Ruturaj Gaikwad 3.Moeen Ali (Overseas) 4. Ben Stokes (Overseas) 5. Ambati Rayudu 6. Shivam Dube 7. Ravindra Jadeja 8. MS Dhoni 9. Deepak Chahar 10. Mitchell Santner / Maheesh Theekshana (Overseas) 11. Simarjeet Singh
The combination mentioned above is likely to feature in most of their matches, particularly at their home venue where they will go with a spin-heavy bowling attack. CSK's success right from 2008 has been their opening pair: Mike Hussey/Murali Vijay, Brendon McCullum/Dwayne Smith, Ruturaj/Faf du Plessis. These combinations have set the tone early on, providing consistency for their top and middle order to take the innings further. The table below shows the impact that opening pairs have made upon their successful campaigns.

https://preview.redd.it/y2jn5478wwqa1.png?width=541&format=png&auto=webp&s=fcfb1ee6bead26a64a8f69fe5a288995968697ec
In 2022, they started the first game against KKR with Conway/Ruturaj but surprisingly changed the combination to Ruturaj/Uthappa for the very next game. This backfired badly as the pair went on to average just 12.75 at a low SR of 102. When they went back to Conway/Ruturaj, the pair ended up making 359 runs at an average of 51.2 with a SR of 149. Unfortunately for CSK, none of their top and middle order were consistent through the tournament.
Conway was the only batter to average more than 40 (he averaged 42 at a SR of 145.66) yet he played only seven matches. This highlights the importance of the New Zealander to CSK's batting on home turf, but also represents a dilemma. The decision to sign Magala suggests that they are aware of the weakness in the death bowling department and saw the need to improve it. But how can they bring the South African into the side when Stokes and Moeen Ali are shoo-ins as allrounders, an overseas spinner will be handy at Chepauk and Conway is needed at the top of the order?
This will be the main puzzle for them to figure out. The good news is the return of Deepak Chahar, but overall they look as though they will rely heavily on Stokes' performances to reach the playoffs. Crucial to this may be Stokes' record against spin. In the last 500 deliveries that he has faced against spinners in T20 cricket, he averages 31.13 with a reasonably good SR of 134. This will be a big boost for CSK considering the slow wickets in Chennai.
Mumbai Indians

Five-time champions MI ended up with the wooden spoon last year, also recording four wins out of 14 matches. Nothing worked in their favour - except the emergence of young Indian batter Tilak Verma. MI's blueprint through their successful years was two overseas frontline seamers, one overseas finisher and one overseas opening batter. They changed this last year and paid a heavy price, searching for the right combination through the tournament without ever finding it. Of the 10 teams in the IPL, Mumbai will experience the least change in conditions this season given that they played four league matches at the Wankhede in 2022.
This suggests change in personnel will be as important to a revival for them. They broke the bank for Australian allrounder Cameron Green, and also brought in South African left-arm seamer Duan Jansen and experienced leggie Piyush Chawla, along with some domestic recruits. Jasprit Bumrah's injury will be a massive blow for MI to deal with. And with Jhye Richardon also been ruled out, there's plenty of work to be done to get their core combination right. The good news is that Jofra Archer is back and actively playing, but he is also someone known for his injuries.
On top of that, the MI spin department does not look threatening. So if Archer breaks down in the middle of the tournament, they will have to rely on their batting to bail them out on a high scoring Wankhede pitch.

Core Playing Combination

  1. Ishan Kishan 2. Rohit Sharma 3. Surya Kumar Yadav 4. Tilak Verma 5. Cameron Green (Overseas) 6. Tim David (Overseas) 7. Ramandeep Singh 8. Mohd Arshad Khan 9. Jofra Archer (Overseas) 10. Jason Behrendorff (Overseas) 11. Kumar Karthikeya
This is the best balance they can think of, but they will have lots of headaches as far as the bowling unit is concerned - particularly on the batting-friendly pitches of their home ground.
In the last five years of the IPL, the 55 matches played at the Wankhede have produced an average score of 171, which is relatively high. Unfortunately they don't have a proven Indian seamer to replace Bumrah, and also lack a wicket-taking spinner in the middle overs.
If their seamers don't start well in the powerplay, they will likely end up conceding big scores. Archer also looked short of his dangerous best on his return in the SA20 league, taking 10 wickets with an Economy of 7.73, while Behrendorff's last IPL appearance was in 2019. The left-armer's stats read 165 runs in 19 overs with an ECO of 8.68, and 5 wickets at a SR of 22.8, which doesn't look highly encouraging.
Cameron Green, on the other hand, averages 16.33 at a SR of 137.64 with the bat, and an ECO of 9.04 with the ball at a SR of 26.40 in his relatively short T20 career. Ramandeep Singh is new to this league with only a few games under his belt, and Arshad Khan will make his debut for everyone to see if he can live up to the hype created by the media. Switching to the spin department, Kumar Karthikeya played just four games last season taking 5 wickets, and Shokeen played five games for 2 wickets.
Another option is Chawla, who went unsold last year and had low returns in IPL 2020, with his 21 overs going for 191 runs at a high ECO of 9.09 and yielding just 6 wickets. He played a solitary game in 2021. The average ECO for spin bowlers at the Wankhede since IPL 2008 is 7.5 - a low figure for a high-scoring venue, showing that spinners play a key role in owning the middle overs. This suggests that Mumbai will have a huge problem.
Going through their batting, Rohit Sharma hasn't averaged 30 in the last six seasons; Ishan Kishan had a middling outing last year with 418 runs at an average of 32.15 and a SR of 120; Tim David is highly skilled but remains an unproven commodity in the IPL, and allrounders Ramandeep Singh and Arshad Khan are both inexperienced.
Similar to CSK, only one batter, Suryakumar Yadav (Avg: 43.28 and SR: 145.67), managed to average more than 40 last season. Young Tilak Verma showed lot of promise with 397 runs at 36.09 with a SR of 131, but MI genuinely look weak on paper - particularly if their top three fail. With a struggle to find a combination to fill up the holes in both batting and bowling, MI might well have another tough year.

Rajasthan Royals

The 2008 winner and last year's finalist, Royals certainly look well balanced in all departments - particularly considering their home venue of Jaipur. Prasidh Krishna's absence for the season is a concern for them while Obed McCoy will miss at least the first few games, but they have good reserve options and should be the team to beat in the tournament.
They retained most of their core players and added the seasoned allrounder Jason Holder, who will play a major role for them batting at No 7 and bowling four overs. They also brought in the services of Joe Root, but will find it difficult to fit him into the combination, while hard-hitting Donovon Ferreira will be the back-up plan for Shimron Hetymer.
Adam Zampa might also struggle to get a game considering the success of the spin pair of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal last year. Wicketkeeper-batter Kunal Rathore, seamer KM Asif, leggie M. Ashwin, allrounder Akash Vashist and seamer Abdul are the local new signings, ensuring that they literally have back up for every position in the core playing XI.
Core Playing Combination
  1. Jos Buttler (Overseas) 2. Yashahvi Jaiswal 3. Devdutt Padikkal 4. Sanju Samson 5. Shimron Hetmyer (Overseas) 6. Riyan Parag 7. Jason Holder (Overseas) 8. Ravichandran Ashwin 9. Kuldeep Sen / Navdeep Saini 10. Trent Boult (Overseas) 11. Yuzvendra Chahal
In the last two years of IPL (2018 & 2019) in Jaipur, spinners have an ECO of 7.49 with a SR of 22. Royals have the best spin bowling combination - in terms of both experience and skill - with Ashwin and Chahal. Both were impressive last year, with Ashwin taking 12 wickets with an ECO of 7.50, and Chahal claiming 27 wickets at an ECO of 7.75. Another key factor in Jaipur is the powerplay, where teams on average score 50/1.
The Royals have Trent Boult to counter that problem - in the last three IPL seasons, he has taken 18 wickets in the powerplay and conceded just 7.91 per over. New recruit Holder is also effective in this period - since Jan 2019 he has an ECO of 7.51 in the powerplay with a reasonable SR of 19. This will be a good combination to have along with the pacy and talented Kuldeep Sen. Ashwin and Chahal together in the middle overs will be a challenge to contend for any good batsmen.
The Royals' weakness is their death overs bowling, which they will have to plan carefully. Holder since Jan 2019 has a high ECO of 10.57 in the death overs, while Boult has an ECO of 10.94. If they can sort out their death over problems, this bowling unit will dominate.

https://preview.redd.it/a06wslz7xwqa1.png?width=558&format=png&auto=webp&s=3dc1fd9d2fa89293cc69ef6e61a2c38290018941
The Performance Index in Jaipur for a successful batting unit is 155 (Avg + SR), and if you see the stats for all the Royals frontline batters in last year's IPL, everyone except Padikkal (but including Ashwin) has matched that comfortably. So they have a really consistent and balanced batting line up to get scores between 180 and 190, which could be defended by a bowling line up with three reliable performers in Boult, Chahal and Ashwin.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Having made it to the playoffs in the last three years, RCB have been consistent apart from winning the trophy. Yet it's worth noting that those three seasons have all been played away from their home ground, where the pitch often renders matches into a bat-vs-bat contest.
Do they have the resources to maintain their good recent record now that they will be playing at the Chinnaswamy again? They have maintained almost the same core to their team, but with a few interesting additions in the auction. The new players are more about having a strong bench, with Reece Topley providing back-up for Josh Hazlewood, and Michael Bracewell warming the bench for Wanindu Hasaranga.
Core Playing Combination
  1. Faf du Plessis (Overseas) 2. Rajat Patidar 3. Virat Kohli 4. Mahipal Lomror 5. Glenn Maxwell (Overseas) 6. Dinesh Karthik 7. Shahbaz Ahmed 8. Wanindu Hasaranga (Overseas) 9. Harshal Patel 10. Josh Hazlewood (Overseas) 11. Mohammed Siraj
The above combination looks a well-oiled machine, with all bases covered - be it batting depth until No 8 or variety in the bowling, where they have two quick bowlers in Siraj and Hazlewood, Harshal Patel with his variations and wicket[1]taking ability, frontline spin options of Hasaranga and Shahbaz and also the part-time but effective off spin of Glenn Maxwell.
The average score at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in its last two years of hosting IPL matches (2018 & 2019) is a massive 185/6. Generally it needs two batsmen to bat 70 balls together to post a high score, which has been the trend in Bangalore right from the first IPL in 2008. The most important thing is to have three bowlers in your line up who can provide regular breakthroughs.

https://preview.redd.it/gcygk0ulxwqa1.png?width=547&format=png&auto=webp&s=74006b6a7c02a1804844b1b404fb6064039c29dc
The above table from last year's IPL makes for a positive reading if you are a RCB fan. Three bowlers - Hasaranga, Harshal Patel and Hazlewood - were amongst gthe wickets, suggesting they have what it takes to keep batsmen honest at the Chinnaswamy. It's worth noting that they picked up an impressive tally of 65 wickets between them.
The question will be how much those figures mean when the bowlers find themselves back in the unforgiving conditions of the Chinnaswamy. Siraj was off-colour last season and has conceded at an ER of 10.1 in Bangalore, so will his recent performances with India lift his confidence sufficiently to have a better IPL?

https://preview.redd.it/a7jg6ettxwqa1.png?width=562&format=png&auto=webp&s=20fa54c3b2e8d5639944d3b88947465945feaac7

https://preview.redd.it/8lpbgkouxwqa1.png?width=543&format=png&auto=webp&s=a73b690e94ef093ebcfad306b6cebdbe03679ae7
The batting table from last season again looks positive when you consider a Performance Index criteria of 160 in Bangalore. Patidar, Karthik, Du Plessis, Maxwell and Lomror meet the criteria and only Kohli misses out. But Kohli has been a transformed man of late, regaining form and consistency since the last IPL in all formats. The main issue to address in the batting is the top three batters' SR in the powerplay. Last year, Faf's SR facing 173 balls was 119, Kohli's SR facing 116 balls was 106 and Patidar's SR facing 92 balls was 121.
The stats for the last three IPL seasons in Bangalore (2017-2019) show a high reading of 50/1 in the powerplay. This is where they have to change their approach and be a little more aggressive, setting the tone for the middle and lower order - which contains two inexperienced batters in Lomror and Shahbaz Ahmed - to rack up some huge scores. Even though most of their batters in the middle and lower middle order meet the performance criteria, only Karthik has a big average.
So it will be important for the top three to do a lot of the legwork on home soil. If they do so, the playoffs won't be far away for this well balanced team.

Bodycare products, which I have been using and finishing. I live in a very hot place, and it's always hot here. My body's skin is always dry but not patchy. This is going to be a very long post.
Body Soaps:
I always try different soaps, so once in a while, I go to the supermarket and get 5 or 6 soaps that I have never used before. I rarely buy them online. I hate soaps that leave the skin very dry or too slippery, making me feel like I didn't wash it. Repurchasing is almost never done, except for a few that really impressed me.
https://preview.redd.it/2zv9hu31uwqa1.jpg?width=1496&format=pjpg&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=96f9625e78cb95106ff9c0c6b5ccf55415bf7a3d
  1. Park Avenue: I never used one from them, so I picked it up at Dmart, but I was also a little worried if the fragrance was going to be strong. I liked it right away because it's a white bar with a light fragrance. It doesn't strip my skin but leaves it moisturized without being slippery. I felt like using a soap that was half like Dove but not very creamy. If you hate dove but need a moisturizing one, try this. Price-wise, it's a little high compared to many commonly found soaps. WRP. Already got the second bar.
  2. Soulflower Tomato: The soap bar is big, but the fragrance is so strong for me that it fills the bathroom even without me using it. It has a strong mix of fragrances, which I don't like sometimes but am ok with sometimes. On the very first use, I didn't like it much, but after that, I started to like it. This soap was very different from others I've used; it feels like a gel-type soap that easily gets applied to the skin and foams well. Not stripping, not moisturizing—just normal. Price-wise, it's high for soap, so I might not RP unless I get a very good offer. I bought this on their Rs. 1 soap offer, but you need to pay to ship of Rs. 99, so I ordered it with a few other products.
  3. Lux: I used to repurchase Lux primarily for the fragrance, but it is a soap that only has fragrance and does nothing else but strips the skin. This bar dad just got back from a trip to Sri Lanka and saw the INCI order change a bit. WNRP.
  4. Khadi Natural (not in picture): One of the soaps I really like. I first got their 12-piece mini-size set to know which variant It is a glycerin soap that is not stripping or drying, like the fragrance. I always repurchase rose water, jasmine, and haldi. I enjoy rose water fragrance in products, and this gives the perfumer's rose water, which is used in functions, a pleasant aroma. Always RP I recently found it was available at the DMart in my town, so I got it there, but Jasmin is not available with them. Good price; you can get it online for around Rs. 50 after the offer.
  5. Rani Sandalwood: I don't remember how it was because I used it about 4 years ago, and I didn't find this one anywhere in South India. Dad got it on his trip with the Lux; it's made in Sri Lanka. I like its fragrance; other things I forgot, so I will open this next month, then I will update the review.
Body Washes:
I was not a fan of body washes, but lately, I started trying out some because of a change in fragrance. I don't always use them daily, and I also don't like body washes that leave a slip.

https://preview.redd.it/n1put5k5uwqa1.jpg?width=1496&format=pjpg&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=f153e67cbac56675af202217e1ef7be8239465e7
  1. Biotique Apricot: I got it a while back because I heard good reviews about it and also because the price was affordable. I really like the peachy fragrance this gives off; it's a thick gel that does the job well and doesn't leave a slip. The only and only product I liked from this whole brand. WNRP I got a different product that has a peachy fragrance.
  2. Dove Gentle Exfoliating: I got it again after seeing good reviews online and hearing that it helps with Bacne. The wash is a very thick cream that has tiny beads on it; the beads don't really feel like scrubs, so it's not a problem. I really don't like this too-thick texture, and yes, this leaves the skin moisturized, but it also leaves a slip, so use extra water to wash it off. Sometimes I love using it, but it takes a long time to empty. I still have half of it left when I start to get bored of it, but currently, this is the good one among the other ones I'm using. Nope, it didn't help with body acne. WNRP
  3. Plum Caramel: My favorite of all in here, I always use this one when I feel like getting some extra care for myself. It's a cream-type wash that has a really sweet caramel fragrance that also stays on the skin for some time if you don't follow it with a fragranced body lotion. I once used this before a car trip early in the morning, and I was able to smell this fragrance on the car and on myself an hour or two after using it. I use only one pump of it, but sometimes, if I take two pumps by mistake, I find the sweetness of the fragrance to be too much. WRP is planning to get this whole caramel set on a good sale next time.
  4. Boho Botanist Rose: As this one says rose, I would think the fragrance would be nice, but no, I can't really smell roses in it; it just smells like a floral. Not heavy, the gel is runny, and I found this one to be very average. I got it with a free kit from Foxy. WNRP.
  5. Boho Botanist Almond(Not in pic): I just opened this one a few days ago, and I don't know what fragrance it has, which I don't like much. I would say this is more of a body oil wash than a body wash; it's very watery and doesn't later or even get applied to the skin; instead, it emulsifies like using a cleansing oil on the body. Also, this needs more than 25 mL for just one wash. WNRP.
Deodrants:
I have body odor, which I inherited from my father, but I spend most of my time indoors and prefer mild fragrances.

https://preview.redd.it/caf18u48uwqa1.jpg?width=1496&format=pjpg&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=4a2556566eea8e621249124f5309140aa377ac2f
  1. Carmesi Citrus Sea: I got this to know how the fragrance of it is, which is like men's perfume and a refreshing fragrance. This is more suitable for outdoors and does control odor better than the other 2. It does stay long. The price is very low, and it lasts me two months. I got it for Rs.150 from the brand's site. WRP already got it after the sweet and the sunset got over.
  2. Carmesi Sweet Summer: This one has a very mild sweet fragrance, which I like, and I use it after my evening shower as the fragrance doesn't bother me. It doesn't control odor well but lasts if I don't sweat much. Might RP if I want to change from the AHA one.
  3. Chemist at Play AHA Peach: I got it after hearing so many positive reviews online. The deodorant lasts me 24 hours and really worked on my dark underarms. I saw a visible change after using it for more than a month. Controls odor so well; it has a peachy scent that is not very strong. WRP, the price is high, so I will only get it on any BOGO offer on the brand's site.
  4. Carmesi Floral Sunset: I got this together with the summer one. This has a strong floral fragrance, which is good for use outdoors I don't like this fragrance but my sister likes it. I will RP either this or Cirtus for my sister.
Body Lotions:
I don't usually apply lotion every day, but I'm trying to make it a habit. The most important aspect of body lotion I look for is that it is not sticky and well-scented.

https://preview.redd.it/ur1ih359uwqa1.jpg?width=1496&format=pjpg&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=fe194acb26255876500109b76494de52fe1c28f0
  1. Nivea Aloe Gel: I got this as a replacement one because the other Nivea lotion I got was damaged from the store. I was very much looking forward it to being good but it's a huge HF. The gel melts when it touched the skin, does not at all hydrate or moisturize, and is very sticky on the skin folds, very disappointing product other than looking good all are 0. WNRP.
  2. Derma co Vitamin E: The lotion is quite thick but on applying it gets absorbed onto the skin fully, I can't even feel like I applied a lotion which you get from using any other lotions, really nice to use in summer but for winter it will not be enough. Any changes I saw after using it means I don't think I did notice anything visible change. Claims to be hydrating but it's not really hydrating. For people who don't like lotions that you can feel on the skin then this works well. Might RP.
  3. Love Beauty & Planet Lavender: I fell for the color of the bottle and ordered this instead of Coconut. I regret getting it as the fragrance is too strong even my dad asked me why I'm wearing strong perfume at home. Moisturing is all good not sticky. I like their lotion but hate this fragrance I couldn't stand using it so I decided to empty it fast by applying more. WNRP this lavender but instead I got the coconut one.
  4. Suganda Lactic: I don't have KP or Strawberry legs so I can't tell if it worked for that, other than that I liked it very lightweight and absorbed well no issue with it. Don't buy the scented it has nothing but a raw citrus fragrance that is too mild butter to buy unscented. I did see some changes in my skin texture. MR, when there are, offers the unscented version.
  5. Ponds Triple Vitamin: This one is underrated, it's really nice to use it the fragrance is not like rose type but floral, it's very hard for me to like the floral fragrance but I liked this one, moisturizing light, and not sticky. Most favorite is when I mix this one and plum vanilla body oil together the fragrance is so nice. I get the small bottle cause it is easy to carry for travel. WRP.
  6. Plum Vanilla Body Oil: I like this one the only body oil I use but sometimes it feels very sweet so mostly I mix it with the ponds. Everyone in my family likes this, everyone who asks for coconut to apply for dry skin on the body I give them this and they all like it. My grandmother also liked it. Little pricy to buy without a good offer so WRP is only on sale.
  7. Loee Bobvn: At the start, a few uses I didn't like the fragrance when using it in winter but in summer I love it, Very light and nice, does the job My and sister both use it and almost empty. Might RP as of now I have many other lotions to use.
  8. Vaseline SPF30 Sunscreen Pa++: Very good sunscreen for the body, lightweight, and has no white cast but it's not water resistant. I have reapplied it 3 times using it and never felt heavy or greasy. It has the usual lotion kind of fragrance. I use 10 - 15 pumps for just the hands. Apply only on places that would be exposed to sunlight. Very sad part the SPF30 is low and only PA++. No, it didn't tan my skin and also I have not stayed more than an hour in extreme sun. WPR if I didn't find anything better to replace this.
Perfumes:
I always prefer mild-scented fragrances. At home, my dad and I are the only people who use fragrances; others hate perfumes.

https://preview.redd.it/qkqpimkauwqa1.jpg?width=1496&format=pjpg&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=be386417bd49f593af66cae5de63708568ee1a39
  1. BBW Dark Kiss: Fell into the hype and got it and oh no it's strong and the scent really bothers me, everyone hates it so so much. Doesnt last also long. Never worth paying so much or buying on offers too. WNRP.
  2. Plum Everythin Plum: Again it was a new launch and the fragrance notes looked good so immediately got it on launch and it's strong, it's a mix of fruity, citrus, and less sweet which is strong. After one spray I did not go near it. WNRP Next time think of buying a vanilla one.
  3. Engage Spell: My favorite and easily available one, the fragrance is so mild no matter how much I spray it doesn't bother my nose yet stays really for a long time. Being using it since my school time it's now more than 5+ years. Alwaya RP.
  4. Plum Rose: Got it has a free gift on my order wow it's really nice, very mild, and has only rose fragrance. Many ppl around me liked it. Just a rose fragrance, not a strong floral type. My aunt liked it a lot and asked me to get one for her. Lasts for a good time. Might RP this or vanilla.
  5. Zudio Wild: Dad got this one from the shop when he took this I checked the tester it felt strong too but I was curious to open it so I used it first and it was not strong at all, I really like it but I won't say it mild it average. Always me and dad using this one only when going out. Almost empty. Just 99rs very affordable WRP.
  6. BBW Japanese Cherry Blossom: Got this also with the dark kiss, this is also strong but was not bothersome so it's ok but again not worth the hype and price. This one everyone gave ok, not bad reaction to it. I think I would be able to use it when I go over. It didn't last that long. WNRP is too expensive if not for the myntra sale I wouldn't have even gone near it.
I almost never repurchase products if I haven't found a better or similar alternative. I always keep trying different things whenever there is a huge sale. Now that I'm overflowing with so many products in all categories, I plan on emptying them, so you will see more review posts. I didn't type it all in one go; whenever I get some time, I type and save it as a draft.

2023.03.30 19:36 StepwiseUndrape574 Mexican Drug Cartels Apparently Think Skilled GTA Online Players Make Great Meth Mules

I have no personal frame of reference for this opinion, but I imagine being a drug runner for the Mexican cartel (or any cartel) is loads more fun in a video game setting than in real life. The latter pays more I'm sure, but the stress, risk to life and limb, and persistent threat of jail time have me convinced to stick with legal employment. Not so for some GTA Online gamers who thought it a good idea to become meth mules.
It sounds wild (because it is), but apparently drug cartels sometimes use online multiplayer video games as a source for new blood. Back in October of last year, for example, Mexico's assistant public safety secretary, Ricardo MejĂa, said a cartel recruiter purchased bus tickets for three teenagers between 11 and 14 years old.
The recruiter found the teens on Garena Free Fire, a popular online game, and offered them each $200 per week to serve as lookouts for the cartel. Authorities detained the teens before they boarded the bus, but MejĂa told ABC News that other cartels have also recruited drug mules and lookouts through video games, including Call of Duty, Gears of War, and Grand Theft Auto V.
Now three months later, Forbes says it discovered that US officials have evidence showing GTA Online is also used as a recruitment tool for drug cartels.
It's not clear how long this has allegedly been going on, but according to the site, border agents stopped and inspected a Jeep Cherokee in Arizona last November and found almost 60 kilograms of methamphetamine. The driver, Alyssa Navarro, said a man named George first contacted her in GTA Online, through which they got to know each other over time.
Those in-game chats later pivoted over to Snapchat, where George raised the idea of being a runner, albeit for electronics to be sold in Mexico. Navarro claims she was offered up to $2,000 per trip, depending on the size of the load.
The only problem for Navarro is that the cartel allegedly hid meth in the Jeep's fuel tank. Authorities have charged Navarro with conspiracy to import and sell meth, and also possession, charges for which she has pleaded not guilty.
It remains to be seen how that case will turn out. Suffice to say, though, if someone online propositions you for an offer that seems too good to be true—or is outright illegal—it's best to politely decline.

Jewelry Care, Design, and Repair: How to Keep Your Precious Accessories Looking Their Best
Jewelry has been used as a form of self-expression and adornment for centuries. Whether it's a family heirloom, a gift from a loved one, or something you purchased for yourself, your jewelry is a valuable possession that deserves proper care, design, and repair. In this article, we will explore some of the best practices for taking care of your jewelry, as well as tips for designing and repairing it.
Jewelry Care
Taking care of your jewelry is an important part of ensuring that it stays looking its best for years to come. Here are some tips for proper jewelry care:
Store your jewelry properly: Store your jewelry in a clean, dry place, away from sunlight and heat. Jewelry boxes with soft lining or jewelry pouches are ideal for storing delicate jewelry pieces.
Clean your jewelry regularly: Dust, dirt, and oil from your skin can accumulate on your jewelry over time and cause damage. Clean your jewelry regularly with a soft cloth or brush and mild soap and water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as they can scratch or damage your jewelry.
Take off your jewelry before engaging in certain activities: Remove your jewelry before engaging in activities such as swimming, showering, or exercising. Chlorine and other chemicals in water can damage your jewelry, while sweat and friction can cause wear and tear.
Get your jewelry inspected regularly: Have your jewelry inspected by a professional jeweler every six months to ensure that it is in good condition and to catch any potential problems early on.
Jewelry Design
Designing jewelry is a creative process that requires careful consideration of style, materials, and craftsmanship. Here are some tips for designing your own jewelry:
Choose your materials carefully: The materials you choose for your jewelry will determine its durability, appearance, and overall quality. Choose high-quality materials that are appropriate for the design and intended use of your jewelry.
Consider the style and purpose of your jewelry: The style and purpose of your jewelry should dictate its design. Consider the occasion, the wearer's personal style, and the desired message or symbolism when designing your jewelry.
Pay attention to craftsmanship: The quality of your craftsmanship will impact the longevity and overall appearance of your jewelry. Take your time and focus on the details when crafting your jewelry, and use high-quality tools and materials.
Be open to feedback and collaboration: Consider working with a professional jeweler or seeking feedback from friends and family during the design process. Collaborating with others can help you refine your design and improve its overall quality.
Jewelry Repair
Despite your best efforts to care for and design your jewelry, accidents can happen. Jewelry repair is a specialized service that can restore your jewelry to its former glory. Here are some tips for getting your jewelry repaired:
Choose a reputable jeweler: Look for a jeweler who has experience with the type of jewelry you need repaired and who has a good reputation for quality and customer service.
Get a cost estimate: Before agreeing to any repairs, make sure you understand the cost and scope of the work. Get a detailed cost estimate from your jeweler and ask any questions you may have.
Be patient: Jewelry repair can take time, especially for complex or delicate pieces. Be patient and trust that your jeweler is taking the time necessary to make your jewelry look its best.
Follow proper care instructions: After your jewelry is repaired, follow proper care instructions to ensure that it stays in good condition. Ask your jeweler for advice on how to care for your newly repaired jewelry.
Jewelry is a precious possession that deserves proper care, design, and repair. By following these tips, you can take proper care of your jewelry. Curly/wavy hair girl in need of help! Super dry hair, nothing works
I switched from old products about 9 months ago in attempt to form a better curly/ wavy routine with products meant for my hair type and I haven’t been able to find a shampoo or conditioner that genuinely works for me. I have 2c with some 3a curls/waves and believe to be low porosity. I’ve tried:
  • shea moisture Jamaican black castor oil shampoo ( worked at first and then super drying )
  • tgin sulfate free shampoo with coconut oil ( left scalp oily )
  • head and shoulders aloe and almond oil shampoo ( left hair squeaky clean )
  • ouai detox shampoo ( left hair squeaky clean )
  • briogeo curl charisma shampoo
  • Aussie avocado oil shampoo
  • kinky curly clarifying shampoo -native coconut and vanilla shampoo (this felt moisturized but had excess shedding and was told it could be since coconut oil acts as protein) -ola plex shampoo and conditioner(cleaned my hair and wasn’t too dry but wasn’t moisturized either)
Gels that didn’t work for me for my wash n gos -uncle funky curl stimulator -garnier curl scrunch gel -Kendra gel -sheamoisture gel coconut oil gel used to work for me before I started switching my routine but scared to go back since nothing works for my hair anymore
Styling products that didn’t work for me - Shea moisture curl smoothie (super dry and too heavy for my hair) - TGIN moisture butter (too heavy and left residue( - Briogeo curl charisma curl crùme (stringy curls) - Shea moisture manuka honey and yogurt repair leave in (stringy curls ) - It’s a 10 in the purple cap that went viral on tik tok (frizzy and dry hair)
Just tried L’OrĂ©al evercreme nourishing shampoo and conditioner in the brown/latte colored bottles. First time I shampooed my hair was dry and squeaky and once I shampooed again It felt better. Conditioner was okay nothing too moisturizing but after the shower I already had wet frizz and my hair was already drying.
I believe my hair is low porosity because it is very sensitive to proteins and coconut oil. Products with protein leave me with frizzy dry hair. At first, the Jamaican black castor oil was working really well for me and my curls/ waves felt amazing and clean and now my hair is squeaky clean with it. Too squeaky clean. Same thing with kinky curl come clean. As soon as I get out the shower my hair is already drying with frizz. The only thing that has helped has been tgin honey miracle mask & kinky curly knot today but I wish after the shower my hair felt moisturized. I’ve tried clarifying and nothing works, I’ve tried moisture shampoos and nothing works. Went drug store with the L’OrĂ©al evercreme and nothing. Don’t know if I should avoid coconut oil or nor because native did moisturize but gave me hair fall out?? Don’t know whether to avoid protein because briogeo curl charisma does have hydrolized protein and it did work. I literally don’t know what to do!!
My current routine - L’OrĂ©al evercreme shampoo and conditioner - Tgin honey miracle mask - Kinky curly knot today - Nym curl talk mousse - Eva nyc primer (to break cast) - Hask argan oil ( to break cast)
Please leave recommendations for shampoo and conditioner or anything you think might help.

The destruction of messages in WHATSAPP
Good community.
We know that today it is essential to be able to have management over our messages. One of the biggest courier companies is WHATSAPP. In his case, this company has been working since 2020 on this type of utility. We had 3 options which were quite high in time. But today that has changed and soon we will enjoy more options which will have a reduced time. For me this type of option is good since sometimes we need to delete data after use and leave no trace.
I look forward to your doubts, questions and comments. Remth 2.0

2023.03.30 19:19 StepwiseUndrape574 GTA 6 Still AWOL, But Rockstar Announces Big Updates For GTA Online And Red Dead Online

Right off US 319 south of Tallahassee, the Leon Sinks Geological Area contains 5 miles of trails leading to a series of sinkholes big and small. The land in this area is underlain by a layer of limestone, eroded and dissolved by rainwater and groundwater to form caverns, holes, and tunnels. This type of terrain is called "karst" and results in many geological features such as wet sinkholes, depressions, natural bridges and a disappearing stream. The hikers can either hike the 3.6-mile Sinkhole Trail to view the numerous sinkholes and geological features, or the 2.8-mile Gum Swamp Trail around a cypress and gum swamp. We recommend wear hiking shoes and bring a water bottle, and consider bug spray or long pants/sleeves. 10am

2023.03.30 18:50 THROWRASoup848 I (26F) can’t move on from ex (26M)

I (26F) can’t move on from ex (26M)
My ex (26M) ended our 5 year relationship in November 2020 and I (26F) am still struggling to get over him. It was a very intense relationship, the highs were super high and the lows were hard but the love we had for one another was something I hadn’t ever truly experienced before. All these years later I have since discovered that the biggest problem our relationship had was unresolved/un acknowledged attachment types. We both cared for one another deeply but we couldn’t understand what was causing our hiccups and ultimately he decided to call it a day.
For a good 8 months after breaking up he continued to engage in sex with me, and even referred to me as his girlfriend numerous times, telling me we could just take more time and fix things, to then just drop me out of the blue for another girl.
Fast forward to December 2022 and his relationship with his new gf was coming to an end. I was completely unaware of this until he started flirting with me again. He even admitted that he had been using old pictures of me in his ‘spare time’. And also confessed he missed the smell of me and being close to me. Knowing he had just got out of a relationship I didn’t want to rush anything but I was being given mixed signals and didn’t know how to think or feel.
In January we slept together and unfortunately the day after I found out I was pregnant, from the last guy I had been seeing who had broken things off with me. Having someone I trusted back in my life I decided to share the news but it was perceived much differently to what I had expected.
Since then we have slept together only once, with it not looking like a possibility for the future. It wouldn’t be as hard if we were not part of the same friendship group. I try to avoid him and yet we always find ourselves gravitating to one another. Everytime I see him I’m greeted with the same butterflies, and reminded of why we fell in love in the first place.
I want him in my life but I feel too much passion to just be friends. What should I do?

2023.03.30 18:47 SulferAddict 88k miles on 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Turbo Manual Transmission, 4,000$ repair

Hi guys, appreciate any brainpower.
I have a volkswagen Jetta 2010. it only has 88k miles and i take it in for maintenance routinely. This last time it appears the rear main oil seal is leaking, which is causing other issues. Below is the email I received.
--If i were to go through with this fix, do you think it is financially worth it? The repair is going to be around 4,600$. Thank you for your time.
---Eamil Recieved
I have gotten the Jetta all checked out and have a report. It turns out that the reason that the check engine light is on is that there is a lean condition being detected. After performing the appropriate tests we have found that the rear main oil seal is leaking badly enough that it is sucking in unmetered air which is throwing the air fuel ratio off. This is also the source of an engine oil leak. We noted it last visit but it was not nearly as significant as it is now. I cannot put my eyes on the seal as the transmission and the clutch components are in the way of any sight line, but we have found this issue by filling the intake system in the engine with smoke and we can see it coming out of the bell housing of the transmission. The only path to get from the engine to the transmission is through that seal. I have also referred to one of our data bases and this is a common failure point on this engine/transmission setup. I propose that we replace that seal and because of the area that it is the clutch components would need to be replaced as they likely have oil on them which usually destroys them. The flywheel is also an area that I am uncertain about at this point, it would need a new surface for the new clutch disc to grip to. This can be achieved 2 ways, either by replacing the flywheel or machining the flywheel. To machine it is much less costly and would be preferable, but if the oil has gotten on the flywheel and created hot spots then the flywheel should be replaced as it will not stay true once the metal warps and changes. So, the estimate that I have prepared is taking into account a flywheel replacement but if we can save the flywheel it would save somewhere in the neighborhood of $700. In order to repair the vehicle in this fashion (rear main seal, clutch kit, and flywheel replacement) it would cost about $3700 plus tax. The drive belt is also cracking and should be replaced and the tires could use a routine rotation and balance as well.
If we were to get everything done, including testing, service, and the repairs I have listed, it would cost about $4650 including taxes and all. Like I mentioned, there is the possibility of saving $700 if the flywheel can be reused. I assume you will have questions. Please feel free to email back if that is easiest, or give me a call if you would prefer. Also, if you decide to move forward, it does take a few days to complete this kind of work. If you need transportation while it is being done, I have a loaner car I can arrange for you to use while we complete the work.

2023.03.30 18:36 dutchiesRweird Device for precise dosing

Hey everyone, I came across a device that gives precise dosage down to the sub-mg level. This works with vapes, oils and ointment. You just set out the amount you want and it measures and distributes it for you. I thought this was pretty cool as I've always been the type to play around with getting the right dose. However, it's still being developed so can't be purchased for testing. Are there other products out there that work like this? I haven't seen any other than some vapes that do something similar.
