Isn't it fun when conversation with someone reaches a flow and excitement. Where you get lost in time and the hours flow by. So much to say and plenty to listen. You find joy in both writing your thoughts and questions and reading instant replies coz the other person is as enthusiastic about the conversation as you.
But it just feels lacking these days. People have so much options these days that they don't want to dedicate entire attention to one person. And also, its hard to find someone whom we can find things to talk about with.
I'm not saying right person for me is a clone of me. But someone who's complimentary. For instance I like listening to other's problems and life issues and they are someone who likes venting.

I have no idea how else to word the title, this entire situation has just baffled me.
I was raised obscenely rich as a child. My dad worked his way up the wall street ladder (crushing everyone in his way to do so which is another story), so by the time I was 3-4 years old my family were multi-millionaires.
When I was 8, my family and I all traveled to a developing south-asian country for a month to spend time with step-family (from there). Before we left, my mom made me and my brothers go through all our toys and stuff as many old/unwanted ones as we could into suitcases.
Once there, we took a trip to an orphanage and gave all our old toys to the children there. I remember it felt really good to see the smiles on their faces, and was a great lesson in humility to see how lucky we were.
Recently, the subject of childhood and travel came up with my friends, and I shared that story. My friends had no idea I was raised rich, since by the time I was 13 my dad had blown all our money on heroin etc (again, another story). My entire family was thrown into poverty, and my life changed very severely, but we got through it. But of course, the friends I met in high school and college didn't know how wealthy I used to be.
Anyway, I said something like, "I'm glad that my mother raised me with that mindset, to keep us humble. She taught us generosity and compassion, and it kept me from being spoiled. Even when we lost all our money, I still hung onto that memory and make sure to share whatever I can with people in need, whenever I can share it."
My friends all got very upset. They told me that it shows my "privileged attitude" that I would "use poor, orphaned children of color to feel better about myself." I am completely distraught. I would never use kids like that, I was a kid myself and just wanted to share my toys with other kids! We even played together in the orphanage. I tried to explain this, but they weren't having it.
Even the friends who are kind of on my side are saying that my mom probably felt that way, even if I didn't. That she was using poor kids to teach her rich white kids a life lesson. I haven't talked to my mom about this, but the thought that she was doing that is tearing me up.
So... AITA? Am I really so privileged? I feel so ashamed.

So the situation is as follows : like two years ago I stumbled upon some information while trying to solve and error in an excel file that we use on daily basis that there was a hidden password protected sheet . So me being tech savvy and trying to solve this error bypassed the password and turned out that the sheet had all the staff gross salary on the sheet and basically rest of the information that the sheet contained was a duplication of information I can see on other unprotected sheets anyway . Didn’t do anything with this info just had a look .
So fast forward to today : I was talking to a colleague about pay etc the college has the same position and title as me and she started saying how much she makes . I was a bit surprised because she was claiming she is making more then me so I remember that I knew where to check so I did and compared it . We've seen a lot of fights throughout the series, but the always tend to fall in the same categories. The Straw Hat pirate themselves also tend to stay within the same categories when it comes to their fights.Desperate fights
These are fights were the only way to victory is some type of surpassing your limits or learning something new to win. They usually make for the most memorable fights since they show the most struggle. Most "extreme diff" fights we see in the story are fights like these.Zoro, Luffy and Usopp are the characters we see in these types of fights the most. The kings of "learning in battle" they tend to obtain most of their powerups in the heat of battle.
- Examples:
- Usopp:
- Learning Haki (because the life of his crew depended on it)
- Has a theme of "discovering his courage" which usually wins him the fight
- Luffy:
- Learning G5 (to win against Kaido)
- Learning ACoC (to challenge Kaido)
- Learning FS (to beat Katakuri)
- Using CoC for the first times (saving Ace)
- Zoro:
- Learning ACoC (to beat King)
- Leaning to cut steel/haki? (to beat Mr.1)
- Surpassing the ordinary (to beat Hachi)
- First time using CoC/ACoC? (to cut Kaido)
- Usopp:
Emotional fights
These tend to be the go to fights for the more character driven Straw Hat fighters. Best examples being Jinbe, Brook and Sanji. With these fights, inner turmoil often ends up being the main enemy. The opponent usually ends up being taken out by a technique that was already known/was always in their arsenal. These range everywhere form "low" to "high diff". Usually the trigger ends up being a dig at the characters allies or ideals which prompts them to get serious.- Examples:
- Jinbe:
- All the fishman Karate we've seen him use seems to be techniques he's known all along.
- All of the new stuff we see from him boils down to: "Ok, now I'm mad! *insert stronger attack*"
- Brook:
- Everything we've seen from him seems to be stuff he's learned out of combat or stuff he's known all along.
- Cold Soul is something he just picked up along the way
- Soul King; the soul monster in WCI did not come as a surprise to him, he just kinda knew how to do it
- Sanji:
- Diable Jambe and Ashura were both powerups that Zoro and Sanji seemed to just know they could do
- His genes did awaken in battle, but not because of battling
- When he used Ifrit Jambe, he alluded to always being able to create flames as hot as those
- Sky walk is something he picked up in TS
- Even with the Raid Suit, the only reason he put it on was to hide his identity more than just getting more power

Conclusion
The reason I say we've never seen Sanji go all out applies to characters like Jinbe and Brook as well. While we've seen Zoro and Luffy push themselves to the brink of death in the hopes of finding the upper hand in a fight, these three have never had death and limit breaking as a part of their fights. They usually dispose of their opponents (or get disposed of) before reaching and adequate challenge that would stimulate their growth. I'm not entirely sure what's allowed on this sub so I won't go into specifics but I used to selfharm in other ways but it stopped giving me the release that it used to, so in the last few months I've started drinking to cope with my depression/anxiety. I do it about once or twice a week, which I know isn't a huge deal bc a lot of people drink casually, but this is coming from someone who used to have absolutely no interest in drinking at all. Like I didn't see the purpose of it, and now part of me relies on it to satisfy the craving to selfharm that I have. I feel like an idiot for doing this to myself but I don't know what else to do. I've always had this craving to self-destruct and I don't know how to make it go away. I just want everything to go away

I was reading about how Sailor Moon was dubbed for South Korea in the 90s, and the various changes/censorship that happened. I saw they removed references to Japan (which I understand, given politics) and changed the character's names, but my question is: Why did they make the names Western instead of Korean? Like in the DIC dub, Usagi becomes Serena so the American or Canadian kids at home think maybe she's from the same country as them. But in Korea, they used names like Monica, Vicky, Isabel, etc. that would still seem foreign. Was the company trying to pass the show off as being from the West because they thought that would make it trendier? Wouldn't it have been easier to just give the characters Korean names?

So the process... Material: 1. Caft coloured packing boxes, $100 for 50 2. Custom box Sleaves, $150 for 25 3.Tags/stickers, $155 for 500 4. Custom wrapping paper, $11 for 900x1500mm 5. Thank you card, $80 for 250 6. Adhesive spray, $30 7. Raffia Ribbon x3, $7 for 100m
I also add some white tissue paper to wrap the items in and if needed some shredded crinkle paper (teal) to fill the box. Both cost barely anything and I can't remember the exact numbers honestly haha. Final pieces are the thank you card and business card on top of everything and to close it up.
Time: The process of adding the paper, wrapping and folding it all together takes under 30min.
Shipping: I then used Auspost flat rate mailers to ship the boxes out
So what are your thoughts? Do you have any suggestions on how I could improve the process, more cost effective options, more time efficient steps, etc? What about the final result, is it worth all the time effort and money put in?

Since the mother insisted on going home and returning to the countryside to live alone. The mother was satisfied and smiled brightly.
I remember when I was five or six years old, it was a difficult time, and I was skinny and lonely, walking around ten miles from Zhanghua Village to my mother's house. The door was opened, and the half-covered door was pushed open. The mother was sitting on the head of the bed wearing a printed headscarf, and the younger brother was wrapped in a thin quilt, waiting to be fed. When my mother saw me, she said, "Hey, how did you get here?" My tears fell like broken beads. My mother got up quickly, took out a paper bag from the bedside table, opened it layer by layer, squeezed a small ball of brown sugar (which she ate during confinement), and poured boiling water into a large porcelain bowl. I was so hungry and thirsty that I didn't care too much. I took the hot bowl and drank it with my head up, which made me scream. This is also the most unforgettable "sweet memory" in my life.
Our mother and son cherish the time, are inseparable, and lie in the same room at night; chatting in our respective beds three steps apart, a series of secrets and anecdotes, ups and downs. As I talked, I responded from the initial "hmm" to the snoring sound of falling asleep.
