My best friend was hooking up with a married man so I told his wife
Both me and my best friend are 20f. We had been friends for about 5 years or so. I considered her my sister because we were just that close. We tell each other everything. And she told me how she was hooking up with a married man (mind you he was 50 something with kids and grandkids). I told her to end it because she was being stupid. She knows that I don’t condone cheating. I try to keep an open mind but some things, like cheating, I do not tolerate. But she said she is gonna continue hooking up with him because it makes her feel like good about herself. Her reasoning was that this married man would rather fuck her than this wife and that made her feel good about herself. I need y’all to know this- hooking with a married person is not a brag, it just means you are pathetic. I asked her what about his wife and she said she doesn’t care about his wife. Her words were “If his wife was being a good wife then he wouldn’t be out here fucking her”. And that just pissed me off.
I screenshot all our texts. She would send me videos of them fucking together, their text convos, their “dates”, all the gifts he bought her, videos of him bad mouthing his wife, and so much more. So I saved all of that. I easily found him on social media because my friend was following him. That mf didn’t even make his account private. He posted pics of his wife,kids, and grandkids. From there I found his wife on social media, followed her and sent her a dm with all the proof. Then I sent friend a text saying , paraphrasing here, that she is the scum of the earth and I don’t want anything to do with her. After that I blocked her on everything.
I sent thé wife the dm about an hour ago and she hasn’t responded yet.
Edit: I just posted this because I was pissed off at my friend and I just needed to vent. I didn’t expect the post to go off so I logged out. That being said fuck everyone that has called me names and telling me that I am a horrible person for telling the wife. She deserves to know the truth. Like I said I do not accept cheating and my friend knew that but she didn’t care. But thank you to everyone that has been kind and supportive towards me 💛💛. I really appreciate it!! A lot of people are calling my friend (well she isn’t my friend but idk what to call her) a narcissist and I think they may be right. She always loves being the center attention if the attention isn’t on her she’ll find a way to bring it on her. A lot of people were hooked on the fact she sent videos of them fucking and I should have added more context to that. So basically she has always done that because she knows it makes me uncomfortable. Every person she has hooked up with she has sent a video to me even though I said countless time to stop. She likes that it bothers me and she used to make fun of me for that. That being said a lot of people are saying this a fake story, I really wish it was because I lost my best friend someone I used considered my sister. Sure even though she was a shitty friend she was there for me when during the roughest time of my life. It just hurts a little for me but I know I’ll get over. The wife still hasn’t open the dm ( or maybe she saw it and hasn’t said anything) I’ll make an update if she responds if y’all want. Also my friend that I blocked, I haven’t seen her in a while. I have no idea what she is up to but I really hope she has come to her sense.

I don’t care how long we have been friends if you cheat I’ll throw away the whole friendship. Cheaters truly are horrible people. And they aren’t gonna get any sympathy or kindness out of me.

Sorry y'all for not updating sooner. I have been so busy with college and work. I am also dealing with some other personal stuff, and it has been so very emotionally draining to the point where I do not even want to get out of bed anymore.
Obligatory: I am writing this out on my phone, so I apologize with the grammar and some words are funky.
I wanted to say once again thank you to everyone that offered me kind words and supported me <3. Y'all are amazing. I really appreciated it!!! And to everyone in my dm's and in the comments calling me a horrible person for what I did. Fuck you all from the bottom of my heart. Take your cheating and homewrecking propaganda somewhere else. You will not be going to get any sympathy from me. To the people that were saying I am not a good friend because I ratted my friend out. Like I said in the comments, I do not want to be friends with cheaters. Being a good friend means holding your friends accountable for their actions. My friend could not give any less of a fuck that she was fucking a married 50-year-old man. She was getting off on that he was choosing to fuck her instead of his wife. She enjoyed being a mistress and honestly, I do not know how long she would have continued if I did not tell the wife. Also for the people in my dm's asking to see the video of my friend fucking the married man, y'all are disgusting and a disgrace to society. There were people that thought this was fake and I wish it was. It is soul crushing to see someone you called your best friend be so shitty.
Onto to the update:
So, the wife saw my DM. She texted me saying that she is incredibly grateful to me for telling her that her husband was cheating on her. She is glad that I notified her of her husband's infidelity. I told her of course; I do not condone cheating at all and what my friend and her husband were doing was disgusting. She agreed and said she had suspicions that her husband was being unfaithful. She once again said she was thankful for what I did for her. I wished her the best of luck with whatever she decides to do. The conversation with the wife was short. And honestly, I preferred to be short, I was feeling guilty because I might have crushed this woman's entire life. But then I remembered I did nothing wrong. Her husband and my friend did.
The very next day my (ex) best friend was banging on my door and screaming for me to come out. I told her to fuck off and that I want nothing to do with her. She was wailing and screaming at my door. I told her if she does not leave, I am going to call the cops. That must have scared her because she left right away. I apologized to my neighbors for the loud noises this early in the morning. Thankfully, my neighbors said it was all good. I have my ex-friend blocked on everything so I did not get any messages form her, but she made burner accounts to contact me. I just ignored her every attempt to reach me. She was so desperate that she dmed my partner on Instagram but he also blocked her everywhere lmao. But that little shit had to drag the rest of our friends. She told them I was being a bitch to her and spreading rumors about her (bitch what rumors?? you are the one fucking a married man here), and they all ganged up on me. So, I told them the truth. That she was hooking up with a married 50-year-old man and bragging about it. I told them that I told his wife and that is why she is throwing a tantrum. Me telling the truth made her come clean with our friends and let's just say a lot of them were disgusted with her. Now our friends are divided, some say I should have minded my own business and others are saying I did nothing wrong, and that the wife deserves to know. So, I lost some friends but oh well, fuck if I care. Now some of them do not want her around because she might try to hook up with their boyfriends. According to my friend this made her really mad. They were telling me how she went on a rampant about how she is not going to hook up their boyfriends, she is better than that. And someone said well you didn't let the fact the man you were fucking was married, so what's to say you won't try to hook up with one of our boyfriends. Let me tell y'all I laughed so hard when I heard that. Imagine being surprised that people do not trust a cheater.
Some of our friends work with her and I guess they must have told the rest of her coworkers, because she is being shunned at work. Everyone in her classes also knows that she willingly had an affair with a married man, so that is embarrassing for her. I was a little curious about what happened to her relationship with that old fucker, so I asked my friends (the one's that do not support her cheating) about that. From what I have gathered, soon as the wife found out she confronted the husband and asked for divorce. The husband panicked and dropped my friend. It also came to light that he was hooking up with three other different girls!!! Can you fucking believe the nerve of that man?!? My friend was upset because she thought she was the only one and offended that he would do that to her. Like girl BFFR. He is a cheater; you think he was going to be loyal to you. I can't believe she actually thought he was gonna choose her. That is hilarious. Although she is more upset about how she wont be pampered anymore or be getting gifts from him. Oh, also her parents found out and they were extremely disappointed to say the least. So that caused some major tensions with her family (I honestly forgot that her family might also end up getting involved. And I do feel a little bad about that because her parents are wonderful. I have no idea how she turned out the way she did).
Now my friend is miserable; most of her friends do not like her anymore, she is being shunned at work, everyone in her classes is talking about her, she lost her "sugar daddy", and her family is disappointed in her. Well, that is what she gets for bragging about being a mistress. I wonder if it was worth it for her.
Let this be a lesson for the people that are cheating and homewrecking, don't do it. There are so many on this earth, maybe don't go after people that are taken. It is not worth it in the end.
As for me, I am keeping her blocked and avoiding her like the plague. I know I am not alone, I still have some of my friends and my partner that support me. Most of all I have all these kind strangers on the internet that also support me with kind words!! Thank you all once again. My partner has booked a romantic getaway for us this weekend and I excited for that! So I'll be keeping my phone on silent for the rest of the week.

He's a bare minimum type of dad but still wants to have rights and be involved despite being awful. I'd let him sign his rights away if he'd agree to it. Maybe someday he will and I won't have to stress about him anymore.
He was a shitty father before she was even born - I remember crying in the bathroom after he yelled at me for wanting a $100 ultrasound when I was 16 weeks pregnant cause I didn't have prenatal care yet and never got to see her or even confirm her heartbeat. I didn't manage to get prenatal care till 26 WEEKS cause medicaid was jerking me around and he wasn't helping me out at all. I was so stressed and terrified... Even worried that my baby wasn't alive inside me at certain points. He didn't seem to give a damn.
When the time came, he got pissed at me for not wanting to get induced early because he wanted extra leave to "be home and spend time with our baby"... After she was born he spent the whole time drinking and watching fuckin anime (I now despise anime), barely even looked at our baby, didn't help out with changing diapers or letting me sleep. God, fuck him. Oh, not gonna forget how I had to clean the house (it was a disaster and I was also sick the first week we were home with a bad cold) by myself to let pest control come (whole other can of worms) and had to clean again for his brother to visit despite all the pain from my vagina feeling like it was gonna fall out of my body from the bad tear I got during childbirth that took forever to heal. He bashed me for fucking SLEEPING while my newborn slept and when I exlained I had to cause she keeps me up late - no help from him - and just general exhaustion from all that my body went through and the mental toll motherhood takes on someone, he told me I need to "be a mother and get her on a good schedule".... A goddamn newborn. What the fuck, man.
I also got yelled at because I wanted to buy a few things for her arrival - he wanted to wait for the baby shower and donations. He wouldn't even let me pick out one thing for our baby. Oh, but he could purchase beer every night and buy guns and smokes! I worked till I was 35 weeks pregnant but I didn't make much and didn't have a car of my own, most of my money went to him after he blew all of what he made. I did that because I wanted the incoming money to be seen as both of ours... But he obviously didn't feel that way cause he financially abused the fuck out of me, told me it was impossible to save money, etc.
The drinking & his general lack of interest in our newborn was ultimately what broke me and made me leave. Actually, it was a huge conglomerate of all the bad treatment I had received, too. It's amazing how I started thinking rationally & my brain seemed totally rewired after I became a mother and I recognized the reality of how shitty he is after I left and had time to think.
A day before I left, I told him I was unhappy (baby was 6 weeks old) and asked if he was going to stop drinking because he had pissed on the floor the night before sometime during the night when I was up late soothing our newly 6 week old. He just said he enjoys drinking and finished the rest of his beers, nothing changed. So the next day, I packed up his car and had him take baby & I to my parents.
I had to get nasty with him to even give me $100 every 2 weeks on his paydays (cause he went 2 weeks without helping out and a week without coming to visit her). Only asking for $100 is very generous; he'd be made to pay 20% of his paycheck if I took him to court.
Today he decided to make things more difficult for me. Gave me a money order that I'll have to cash at the bank. He's aware I'll have to walk there, reactivate my old bank account and wait for a new card to be sent to me. He didn't care to ask if our daughter needed anything before screwing me over where I can't even use the $100 till the card arrives - I couldn't even do it today cause the bank was closed by then.
I've been so fucking nice to him. Was letting him pop in for visits whenever he wanted to (he'd usually come less than twice a week, never more than twice a week) till yesterday when I asked him to pick days he'd want to see her... Any days, however many days he wanted. He chose TWO DAYS a week. Fucker lives 7 minutes away, gets off work at 2pm and has the easiest job ever and his boss is super lenient with him (they're best friends) so it's not like he physically can't make it more often. And when he does visit, it's never longer than 20 minutes. He hasn't bonded with her at all.
He pissed me off today with that deliberately spiteful money order, and all the stuff he put me through that I never got to speak my mind about or receive even a simple apology for came rushing back. Especially since he still drunk texts me about how he jumps through hoops for me and does so much for our family and claims to love me... His ability to remain so delusional is baffling.
I told him to start paying me 20% from now on since he wants to make things difficult for me despite me trying to make things as easy as possible for him.
I'm so hurt and angry. Not only did I give him too many chances to fix our family, to get help to stop drinking, etc. but I was so nice to a pathetic extent. During his visits when he was acting like a miserable asshole, I'd try to make things more pleasant, offer him food, drinks, tv, attempted lighthearted conversation, tried to make playing with our baby more fun for him so maybe he'd attempt bonding with her, but he rejected all of it and continues acting like a dick, tries making my life more difficult.
It also scares me that a few nights ago he tried getting us to come over when he was drunk; he wanted to drive drunk with our baby. I will never feel comfortable sending her off with him. I will fight as hard as possible to not let that happen even if I have to move hours away. He has to prove he's making improvements, at least, but I know he won't.
I'm upset that our daughter has his last name. We never married (we planned to but thankfully didn't) so now I can't even have the same last name as my daughter. He doesn't deserve to have her carry on his last name. But if I can't ever find a way to change it, of course I'll show her reasons to love it. I don't ever want her to feel like part of her is tainted or bad, because she's beautiful and every part of her is loved.
I'm just done being nice to him. He burned a painting/letter I made him for our anniversary and posted it online for our acquaintances to see (how mature) so I clearly pissed him off. Good. It's time for him to start feeling hurt, helpless, betrayed, etc. just like he wanted me to feel. Not going to make sure things are so simple and easy for him anymore.

Hello! I am back with more astrology birth chart analysis. For this post, I wanted to highlight the trainees that showcase the phrase “there’s more than meets the eye” -- meaning, trainees that might be very different from the first impressions they give off.
❗DISCLAIMER: I think astrology is a fun way to interpret people but it's not always 100% accurate! I do not think any of us will ever fully know any of the trainees (or anyone else aside from ourselves for that matter). ALSO, “first impressions” are IMMENSELY influenced by one’s rising sign, but since we do not know the exact time of birth for any of the trainees, it is hard to fully analyze. Please take everything with a grain of salt and remember this is JUST FOR FUN! & if you're new to astrology, feel free to ask questions~
🔮 BACKGROUND & TRAINEES OF FOCUS:
When I first thought about the phrase “first impressions don’t mean anything” my mind immediately went to Kim Jiwoong. His “mysterious hot cool guy” vibe is what reality TV dreams of. However, it’s already been (relatively) shown that he is also super dorky and has a “cute” side. Similarly, Park Gunwook had his “overconfident intimidating cool guy” vibe, but again it has been shown that Gunwook is a “giant baby” who gets doted on by the older trainees. [I have analyzed their charts on my twt so pls scroll down if you want links to read their individual analyses!]
I then asked myself, who else seems like there’s “more than meets the eye”? Who definitely “acts” one way (or are “portrayed/shown” one way by Mnet) but it definitely feels like there is more to who they are that hasn’t been shown?
The first four trainees that came to mind are: Keita, Kim Taerae, Haruto & Park Hanbin
Completely unintentionally, all of them are water signs. Which I suppose makes sense since water signs are typically more in tune with emotions and aren’t as “outgoing” as fire or air signs. (Though I was very shocked to learn Haruto is a water sign lol).
⭐ KEITA
My 1st thought: he’s a composer, producer, choreographer, singer, rapper, generally well liked, AND a cancer? AIN’T NO WAY. Then I saw he has 3 sagittarius, 3 gemini, and 3 aquarius in his chart and proceeded to scream into the void.
Starting w/ the 4 first signs, Keita became Avatar the Last Airbender with his signs here -- his sun (main/core sign) is in cancer [water], his moon (emotions/internal processing) is in sagittarius [fire], his mercury (communication) is in gemini [air], and his venus (perceptions of love) is in taurus [earth]. At first glance, this seemingly helps keep Keita very balanced keeping his actions, thoughts, words, and emotions all in check. However, this could also cause a lot of back and forth internally.
Cancers are known to either cry very often or bottle up every emotion until it comes out uncontrollably. This paired with the sagittarius moon and mars (ruler of intense emotions) makes me assume Keita is the second since sagittarius also tend to bottle up their emotions and only express themselves in situations they deem to be appropriate. This is unsurprising as he was shown crying during the Limousine performance as he resonated with the lyrics’ message.
Geminis are social butterflies that mold well to different situations. This being Keita’s mercury might make others feel more at ease as Keita might have a good sense of humor and/or know what to say to keep morale up. Taurus are typically very patient. Keita showed both mercury gemini and venus taurus traits when he helped Jay during the star level test & when he reassured Hyunbeen about his center position in zoom.
Stelliums occur when 3 or more planets are in the same sign. Keita has his mercury, jupiter, and saturn in gemini. Sometimes the traits of the stellium overpower the core sun sign. In this case, I think it’s a benefit to Keita. Jupiter represents expansion and saturn represents effort. Since geminis are social butterflies that are always seeking fun, these traits can help balance out the emotional cancer sun sign and give Keita the ability to let loose and not take things seriously all of the time.
Neptune represents the parts one tries to hide. Uranus represents individuality/quirkiness. Lilith represents buried traits. Keita has all of these in aquarius. Keita is probably just as standout as some of the really outgoing trainees, but refrains from doing so because of his self-image. This is shown during the dance battle with Woongki where Keita starts to drop into similar “girlypop” moves but then reverts to more a “street” style.
There is definitely more than meets the eye with Keita! I’m sure he has gone through a lot of hardships and a lot of triumphs, none of which have been particularly documented by Mnet. His image of an “all rounder” is positive but Mnet doesn’t seem to leave room for interpretation. I hope Keita is able to showcase more of himself (especially as a singer, composer, producer, and maybe some other surprise titles?) in ways he wants to and not because he thinks he has to ascribe to a specific persona.
🌙 KIM TAERAE
When I saw Taerae’s smile and heard his angelic voice, I thought he HAS to have some type of evil alter ego. Instead I’m faced with a wholesome chart that makes it hard to believe someone like this exists let alone someone who is willingly putting himself into the spotlight of fame and stardom???
Cancers (as the cardinal water sign) are notorious for being the “most sensitive/emotional” sign. Taerae’s sun (core), mercury (communication), and jupiter (expansion) are all in cancer. This most likely means he speaks and carries himself with a lot of compassion for others. This can be seen throughout the “MIL” clips as he is helping out others & continuously raving about how good his members did. Also his genuine reaction when seeing Hyunbeen was selected as the “Zoom” center. The signs indicate nothing he said was exaggerated and he genuinely believes in uplifting even the smallest wins of others.
The moon sign represents emotions and self-image and venus represents perceptions of love. Taerae has both of these in virgo. Virgos tend to appreciate routine and are detail-oriented. The combination of the moon and venus sharing the virgo sign might mean Taerae often appreciates the little things in life and doesn’t take them for granted. This can be seen during the behind the scenes of the studio choom shooting, Taerae says, “[Seeing] the lights already touches my heart.”
Taerae’s mars (intense emotions when under pressure) in leo gives him drive. Leos are known to be very “goal-oriented” and always seeking a greater purpose. I’m assuming this sign is what helps Taerae manage when he does feel pressured and drives him to become an idol.
Neptune represents parts one might try to hide and Uranus represents individuality/quirkiness. Taerae has both in aquarius, meaning he might suppress some traits that make him different from others; however, many trainees this season also have these placements on top of more air and/or fire signs in their charts which might make Taerae seem “not as marketable” as others in front of the camera. (But if you have seen him in any of the “scare pranking trainees” clips then you already know he’s weird forreal because not him being more scared of the pupa than the ghost??).
I’m hopeful that the balance of water and earth continues to ground Taerae with his emotions and processing “fame”. Also the sprinkling of air signs should help keep things light hearted as well. I hope he continues to find support within himself and with others. Mnet is forreal shaking in their boots cause they had absolutely 0 content that could be manipulated and/or evil edited from Taerae. His chart explains why he might not have had much screen time because all his interactions were probably very WHOLESOME!!!
⭐ HARUTO
Alright girlypops buckle in for the wild ride that is Maeda Haruto. Behind every “don’t worry I’m FINE” Scorpio is the desire to cry and be reminded everything will be okay.
For starters, scorpios are usually stereotyped as broody, sassy, unlikely to share about themselves, and full of that “it’s not a phase, mom!” energy. One does not want to get on a scorpios “bad list” because scorpios will hold onto a grudge until they die (and possibly pass it on for generations to come). The fact that Haruto’s sun (core) and mars (intense emotions expressed under pressure) are both in Scorpio means he is probably able to channel his intense energy and turn it into sheer willpower even in high stress situations. This makes sense considering Haruto willingly moved to South Korea on his own, has survived multiple audition programs, and still currently perseveres.
However, the combination can also prove to be harmful. Scorpios have the potential to become upset if things do not go as planned often through passive aggressive remarks or sarcasm. I’m assuming Haruto’s “sassiness” has been marketable to Mnet, otherwise they probably could have easily “evil edited” him for extra drama clips.
Capricorns are known to keep cool, calm, and collected outer demeanor. Haruto having his moon (emotions/self-image) in capricorn brings balance to the intense scorpio sun. He probably stays level headed and has an ordered step-by-step self-care routine. This is unsurprising considering all the trainees have noted Haruto goes to sleep by 10PM every time.
Sagittarius are the mutable fire sign meaning they are not usually as outgoing compared to Leo or Aries. However, Haruto’s mercury (communication) in sag is probably amplified by his scorpio sun. His one-liners (“You’re a BIRD!!!” & “Matthew hyung, sorry~~”) are the epitome of this combination. He comes across as outgoing, a bit “tongue-and-cheek”, and memorable.
Libras always seek balance. Haruto having his venus (perception of love) in libra probably means he looks for reciprocity in all his relationships - he probably won’t go out of his way for someone unless they go out of their way for him. During the show, this has probably helped him preserve his time and energy to focus on honing in on his skills as an idol.
Uranus represents individuality/quirkiness. Saturn represents effort. Unlike many of the other trainees, Haruto has both of these planets in water signs (often more in tune with emotions). His saturn in cancer might make him feel intimidated by critique and/or judgment + his uranus in pisces probably means he has the tendency to be a team player rather than a leader. This can be seen when he was in the first training lesson with Solji (and also when he was on LOUD and started crying with JYP).
Note: Haruto definitely has different vibes from his first impressions compared to his chart. I’m under the impression his rising sign (and subsequent other signs) might be drastically different, influencing his personality in ways we can’t analyze unless his birth time is known.
Although Haruto is perfectly capable of being a bad boss-ass b*tch (positive) and keeping afloat, I think it would benefit him to be around others who are capable of expressing their inner thoughts and feelings more often (especially seeing his comments Mnet posts on his fancams). I hope Haruto is able to let others in and also be reminded that it’s okay to trust others and ask for help!
🌙 PARK HANBIN
At first glance, I thought PHanbin would have traits typical of a fire or earth sign leader full of righteousness and outgoing demeanor. However, PHanbin might be one of the secret crybabies on Boys Planet. He is definitely an atypical leader as his chart is full of water and air signs, including an aquarius stellium.
Pisces (as the mutable water sign) are the epitome of self-sacrifice and sometimes are seen as doormats who will get repeatedly stepped on over and over again. PHanbin’s sun (core) and venus (perceptions of love) are both in pisces. Pisces are the ruler of venus and those with this particular placement are thought to be among the most empathetic. This most likely means he will put others before himself. Pisces are very inclusive of all and most pisces leaders will not move forward with decisions without getting the input of everyone on their team. Their water-like fluidity will let them fit into almost any role. This can be seen with PHanbin’s past leader roles both in “Hot Sauce” and in “Law” as he prioritizes the strengths of his team members to create a harmonious picture.
The moon sign represents emotions and so the Libra (air) placement indicates PHanbin might recharge by being around others; this might contradict with his pisces sun and venus as pisces tend to be more introverted and enjoy recharging in solitude. At the same time, the amount of trainees PHanbin has seemingly befriended (and how different they all are from one another) indicates this libra moon combined with the pisces sun invites others in and his presence makes others feel safe.
The mars sign represents emotions under intense stress and/or situations. Aries is the ruler of this sign. The fact that PHanbin’s mars is in aries makes a lot of sense and is probably what gives him more “typical” leadership qualities. Mars aries are very righteous and believe in order and hard work to achieve good results. This is shown when the “Law” trainees mention PHanbin had rumors spread among the trainees for creating a “hard/strict” training regime from his former teams; this is also seen as PHanbin actively makes the “Law” trainees repeat key moves over and over again. However, I’m assuming the water signs in the chart balance out this authoritative stance because the trainees are willing to still follow along and feel grateful for PHanbin’s leadership.
PHanbin’s mercury is also in aquarius which might mean the way he communicates is a little more lighthearted than how he actually carries himself. Since the water sign pisces can be a little emotional, the air sign of aquarius (and especially because PHanbin is an aquarius stellium) can balance that out. Like many other trainees, PHanbin’s uranus and neptune are both in aquarius meaning he might try to conceal the weird and/or different parts of himself -- but at this point EVERYONE in Boys Planet is a lil weird, a lil fruity, and/or some mix of the two.
Overall, PHanbin’s chart honestly leaves me with a lot more questions than it does answers. Like Haruto, PHanbin definitely has different vibes from his first impressions compared to his chart. I’m under the impression his rising sign (and subsequent other signs) might be drastically different. The way Mnet has portrayed him is definitely different from what his chart indicates (or maybe it’s just the lack of screentime) so I hope he is able to showcase more of himself in future episodes!

I’m up visiting Portland this week, and I had asked which course I should play. I decided to skip Pier Park, and instead went to Horning’s Hideout. Man, I’m so glad that I did. Today was beautiful. The Highlands pitch & putt was a fun warm up, but the Canyon course was something special. I went +14 on it, and almost lost my Lobster on hole 10, but I had an absolute blast! So thank you Portland disc golfers for the advice! I’ll be sure to hit up Milo, Buxton, Blue Lake, Pier Park, and all the other great courses y’all have the next time I’m up here. Cheers!

This isn’t really a “things I would change post” more so a this is how I would’ve written the film. However, I will still mark this with a spoiler warning as some events from the real movie are still in my version. Also, this isn’t done but I want opinions.
What if Black Adam was in Shazam! Fury of the Gods? With the release of Shazam! Fury of the Gods, we’ve gotten a bit of behind the scenes drama about Dwayne Johnson not wanting to appear as Black Adam, and how it could’ve affected the film itself. This got me thinking on what the film could have been if it was about Captain Marvel facing his arch nemesis Black Adam, and what would’ve been similar to the film we got & what would’ve changed. Keep in mind that for the sake of this story, the Black Adam film didn’t happen, however some events from it will be integrated into this new film. So with all that out of the way let’s answer the question, what if Black Adam was in Shazam! Fury of the Gods?
We open with on Kahndaq in the year 2600 BC. We see the Council of Wizards facing off against their former Champion, Teth-Adam. They’re joined by two warriors named Horus (the first incarnation of Hawkman) & Nabu (a powerful sorcerer who wears a golden helm). We see Adam kill the members of the Council of Wizards until it’s only Shazam, Horus, & Nabu left standing. Shazam tells Adam that it is not too late to surrender, with Adam responding that he will never stop until his justice is made law. We’d get an epic fight of the three barely being able to fend off Adam, with Adam telling them that this is they’re last chance to surrender. Shazam, realizing they can’t defeat him, decides that the only way to rid the world of him is to banish him into the far depths of the universe. He tells Horus & Nabu to hold him off while he prepares the spell, Horus fights Adam hand to hand while Nabu is putting him in a holding field. Just as Adam is about to break out, the spell is completed and he’s sent away. Just before he vanished however, Adam vows that he will return. Cut to the title screen, the title reads “Shazam! Brawl of Champions”.
Cut to Philly, now the modern day. We get the same scenes of the Marvel family at their house as well as the bridge rescue scene, however this time it isn’t an accident and is being caused by a villain called Disaster Master. The Family make fun of his name and easily defeat him, with great teamwork. We see Disaster Master taken into A.R.G.U.S. custody, and Captain Marvel is talking to a reporter which transitions to the Family watching the news report of the event at The Rock of Eternity. It’s said on the news that Disaster Master is the latest of a recent surge of supervillains in Philly, & that the people are starting to wonder if having superheroes in Philly is causing more harm than good. Freddy brings up the other villains that they’ve fought in the past 2 months (King Kull, Mr. Atom, & The Crocodile Man), & he says that there has to be something bigger going on that they don’t know about.
Cut to a secret base, we see Dr. Sivana watching the same broadcast. He then speaks to Mr. Mind and asks him what’s the point of him creating multiple super villains if they keep getting defeating. He then furiously asks Mr. Mind to tell him the rest of the plan, then Mr. Mind forces him to the ground with his telekinesis and reminds him who’s in charge. He says that everything is almost ready, and that everything will be revealed tonight.
We cut to Fawcett High School, Freddy is walking the hall & is then met by the bullies from the first film. As they’re about to beat him up, Billy shows up behind them and tells them to back off. One of the bullies attempts to shove Billy into the wall, but Billy moves and the other bully ends up getting shoved into the wall. Aa Billy is feeling proud of himself, he caught off guard and punched in the face. Before the situation escalates further, the principal shows up and tells the two bullies to meet him in his office. The situation caught the attention of new student Ann Tomaz, who goes to Billy and comments on his bravery. Billy is a bit caught off guard (he’s still recovering from being punched in the face and he also doesn’t have too much experience with girls) so Freddy steps in and saves the situation from being awkward. Ann brings up she doesn’t know where her first period is and Freddy brings up that Billy & her have the same first period and would be happy to walk her there. As they’re walking, Ann asks him how he knows Freddy. Billy says that they’re brothers. Through the conversation, Ann learns about Billy jumping through foster homes before deciding to stay with the Vásquez’s. We also learn that Ann’s full name is Adrianna & that she & her family recently came to the US from the third world country of Kahndaq. Billy asks about Kahndaq & why she left (Kahndaq isn’t a super well known country). She explains that Kahndaq has been under the harsh dictatorship of Ishmael Gregor for the past 7 years of her life, & that her family had been trying to leave for years. Billy says that it must’ve been hard leaving your home, but she says that when she left she hardly recognized it anymore. Billy then (kind of awkwardly) asks her to meet him and his family tonight & Fairmount Park as they’re going to see the Lunar eclipse. She agrees as the two step into class.

My brother has 2 daughters, Piper (10) and Quinn (7). My sister & I have been taking Piper out for girls day 3-4x/yr since she turned 7. We let her pick what she wants to do and make a day of it. Usually it's during the summer or on weekends but we do have one day she calls "Sneak Day." My sister and I take off work and my niece is allowed to stay home from school and we "sneak" out and have fun while everyone else is at work/school. Quinn just turned 7 and is excited about finally being grown up enough to come with us. Especially for Sneak Day, which we're doing next week.

My brother & SIL had a party this weekend. My family adores my SIL and we really like my brother's in-laws except that they have a habit of inviting themselves everywhere. My brother, sister and I were discussing plans for next week and one of my SIL's sisters overheard. She got really excited and said "Maybe I'll come and bring (son's name)." My brother told her that this is an aunt/niece thing we do with his kids and she was all, "I'm sure it's no problem, the girls would probably love a day out with their cousin too!" First off, it is a problem. This is a day for us to spend with our nieces, not my brother's in-laws and their kids. Second, my SIL has 6 siblings and based on past example ALL of them would have ended up wanting to tag along w/ their kids. Third, my nieces want to go to Urban Air. While you CAN take small kids there some of the cousins are very young. Either our destination would have been 'renegotiated' or it would have ended up in a circus of injured crying children. The point of this day is spend time before they're too old to think it's cool to hang out with their adult aunts, and things would have ended with Piper & Quinn pushed to the margins because they're nice kids and they would have given in on things to accommodate the smaller kids.

I don't want to make trouble for my brother with his in-laws but I was not ok with the direction this was going and I didn't want it to spread to the other siblings because then it would have been too late. I politely said that this was a special tradition for us and especially since it's Quinn's first time coming along it really meant a lot to have some quality time with the girls. I saw the SIL's face fall so I added that it had nothing to do with not wanting to spend time with their family and maybe we could plan something in the future.

My brother 100% thinks I did the right thing. My SIL isn't upset, she knows that her family will just butt in on other people's plans. I don't really think I did anything wrong but this woman is SUCH a nice person I can't help but feel a little bad. My sister does NOT feel bad. My mom doesn't think I was wrong but said that maybe I could have let it slide this once since the SIL heard us talking. Should I have just sucked it up and let them all come? It's been since Saturday and I still am slightly uncomfortable about it. AITA?

I have an editing/writing background/degree & lots of speaking/performance so had a great time on rewrite. I was running late so I took an Uber there: $12.90

• THEN called health insurance. I need to have an expander put in my mouth because I have nasal breathing issues (and a severe open bite & moderate cross bite, all due to a narrow upper palate), BUT not clear if insurance covers it. Was on for 40 minutes – answer is conclusive. A TIP: orthodontic/orthognathic surgeries are an insurance nightmare. :/
• Lots of downtime today. Emails & reporting mostly but also a lot of researching the procedure I need to have. Called a coworker in the afternoon.
• Really sluggy so Diet Dr Pepper around 2:30pm – rare for me. Try to avoid caffeine after lunch.
• Ended up taking a nap from 5:30pm-7pm. Hung around & ate leftovers for dinner.

DAY 5 – TOTAL: $484.57

• Woke up, loafed around a bit.
• Caught the bus to meet a friend for brunch! Read a bit on the bus. $2.25
• Brunch w/my girl! Good to catch up. Ate some pancakes that were pretty good but made my stomach hurt. Got a giant cookie to take home to husband. $29.60

• Then got ice cream!!! Bought my friend’s cone too. $17.60.

• A bit later, husband & I Ubered to a little cocktail bar. $12.99. It was really nice! We each had 2 cocktails. $76.76
• Then we went for dinner! Originally wanted wings but the place was crazy with very drunk March Madness goers. So went to a bistro-y place down the street. Had a couple beers each & ate some really excellent short rib pappardelle & husband had a delicious meatball sub. $138.12

• Up around 6:30 for the normal morning routine – phone, bath/reading, get ready.
• Had to call a bunch more pharmacies to sniff out Adderall – had very little luck. 
• Ordered flowers to be delivered for my mother’s birthday: $76.78
• Had a chill WFH day. Did some planning & reporting, had a few afternoon calls.
• Husband went to the grocery on his way home. Got a few staples: salsa, bagels, yogurts, etc. $66.89
• Wrapped up around 5:30pm. Laid around & stretched, then went to Orangetheory at 7pm.
• Had a great workout! Came home, cleaned up, wolfed some meal prepped food, then went to bed around 10pm.

This was an above average spending week. Brunch & shopping is not a weekly occurrence, nor are those medical bills. We typically eat/cook/meal prep at home a bit more too. But there ya have it – hope you enjoyed!

Seller of a home just listed under a week ago had open house & we fell in love with the renovations, the space in each room, the layout and ease of access from multiple points- side, front and backyard. The fenced in yard, pool, master suite with built in sauna , basement with entertainment & game bar & movie theater area. & basement gym. The bedrooms are ample sizes but have small Victorian sized closets (still plenty big for dresser, desk, and full/queen beds, renovated bathrooms, finished attic with a man cave lol (urinal for bathroom & separated living area and gaming area), low taxes even upon sale/reassessment, above ground pool.
Good: -recently replaced roof, furnace, central air, oil tank removal, oldest thing is the fence within 10 years.
-has a dining room and living room and family room!!
Issues; -On a Busy road. Like the town residents complained all over the Facebook page saying don’t live off main road always get traffic. An accident can cause a standstill for an hour. (It’s literally the only main drag for multiple towns off the highway, less you spend time and effort driving double the distance out of way)
(However Victorian house may have good insulation. Because couldn’t head main road from inside besides one room where the old windows are still there)
-house is a foot or less away from neighbor. Yuck. At least the windows on that side are minimal and u kind of forget to look over there
-corner lot, doesn’t bother me, just hate how other corner is main drag.
-school system good, not the best. Not horrible. Good for sports
-kitchen eventually needs a remodel maybe add big walk in pantry and remove eik and install center island.
Unknowns: -across from police station/municipal building
-over time other areas have become a flood zone due to small river- so afraid over time area may actually be a flood zone in future.
-Home is built pre 1900.
Selling agent has been saying they’ve been expecting multiple offers, however after our offer was submitted 10k over ask, they’re saying they appreciate the offer and the thoroughness of our application from lender and realtor, but they want to show the house again and expected multiple offers and want 40k over what they listed. So they’re asking us to raise our offer to match what their mental expectation was and we’re guaranteed the house and they won’t accept or show the house. They’ve owned it for almost 20 years. And their list is almost 200% what they bought it for.
We toyed with the idea of just paying the 15k extra. However the house in the area doesn’t justify spending extra. Recent sales , even if above 20% list are still below our over asking offer Our relator says we’d basically guarantee covering over appraisal. Lender says we’d just renegotiate or walk.
So we’ve politely declined to increase our offer 15k. If they want to be greedy, that’s fine. Figured if it’s meant to be it’s meant to be. However if they come back to us edging 2 weeks after their open house pending this week we’ll consider decreasing our offer to the list price for being greedy haha.

My partner and I recently visited the Zoologist atelieshowroom in Toronto. During our visit, we tried all the scents, including their unreleased scents. I hope you'll enjoy this review and find it useful for planning your trip!
Good to know:

1. The atelier is by appointment only. You need to email them through their website to book an appointment. Each appointment is around 1.5hrs-2hrs long, so block out enough time for it.
2. Zoologist is located on the OUTSKIRTS of Toronto. It's 45mins by car from downtown Toronto or 2hrs via public transit. Google maps has problems finding the location and will show results for Niche Essences (an outlet that carries various brands) as well. The correct address is the one near York University located in a strip mall.
3. Bring water, and be prepared for a multi-sensory journey. You'll be smelling their entire catalogue of 20+ scents, and you want to give yourself room to enjoy it. If you're visiting Toronto, you might want to have this as a "main" activity since it does require a bit of planning/time/effort.

A little background: I've been collecting perfumes on and off since 1997. My family worked in beauty, so there would be free samples coming in *every day* when growing up. I fell off it for a while, then restarted an interest in 2013 with Le Labo's Santal33. I usually go for resins, ambers, incense, and wood; Serge Lutens makes up 70% of my collection. I have no prior experience with Zoologist.
Zoologist experience:
Despite the plain exterior, the shop is beautifully decorated. On entry, there is a large monstera plant with a showcase of perfume in the front and center. The left side hangs large portraits of each Zoologist animal profiles, and the right has shelves with different types of bottles, samples and boxes to purchase. Interspersed are stained glass tiffany lamps and other curios. There's a feeling that you've just stepped into an art gallery, and the curated items: the lamps, the plant, the animal portraits, sets the tone for the Zoologist brand.

Victor welcomes you to the space, and I remember thinking that he looks the part: on the day we met, he was wearing a dark blue suit with a yellow kerchief square. In absolute honesty: I did not know he was the founder and creative director of the brand. However I found him extremely kind and knowledgeable, and set upon us an olfactory journey guided by their lightest to heaviest scents.

Scent impressions
**technically we went through all the scents, but here's the ones that I remember. I wish I took down better notes**
Bat -- Fruit bat, not the vampire kind. Juicy opening loaded with tropical fruit, a hint of sharp greenness from vetiver. The earth-soil note is a bit funky and fertile, if you've dug around with garden mulch and compost you'll know it instantly.
Beaver -- Clean hamster or chinchilla. Woodshavings, dried food pellets, musky small animal. Rawhide leather, not the polished suede or upholstery you'll get from Tom Ford/more tame designer.
Bee -- hyperrealistic honey and beeswax. I thought it was rather sweet, almost cloying in the shop. Afterwards I went home and sprayed it on my bedsheets, and had a nightmare about being inside a bee colony. There's a dirt note in here which is smells exactly like the hot, warm interior of a hive.
Camel -- Nice, gentle incense. More of an incense stick than the smoky plumes of CdG Black or Dior Fahrenheit. A whiff of church, but not the full altar.
Chameleon -- Wonderful translucency and freshness. It wears like a creamy twist on a classic fougere to me with the ylang-ylang & cashmeran notes apparent, very wearable unisex fragrance
Cow -- Amish homestead farm in Philly/Vermont. Rolling grass hillsides, pastoral. Milk note comes in later, unpasteurized and full cream, but not sweet. Quite interesting layered with Chipmunk, like a milk-cookie combo
Civet -- Reads like a belle-epoque style perfume, glamorous and heady. Perfect for sitting in questionable bars swapping dead drops in a Cold War espionage movie.
Dodo (original) -- Blackberry canes in summer, absolutely delicious that falls away to a polarizing cumin. The cumin is so strong I could smell it from outside the door.
Dragonfly -- You know in The Perfect Scent about with the avid descriptions of waterlilies, lotuses, slow-moving river in Egypt? How the entire team went down for a research brief, and the beauty of the river, the reeds, the sparkling shimmer of sun-on-water? I remember reading the book and being utterly disappointed with the actual perfume, this is what Les Jardins sur le Nil should smell like. This is the one I would buy for my friends as presents, along with the book, as a gift set.
Hummingbird -- feels like 24 Faubourg, but without the effervescence of the former. A rich nectar floral.
Hydrax -- Not for me but my partner really loved it; absolute barnyard.
Macaque (yuzu) -- Victor mentioned that he wears this one
Nightingale -- Extremely realistic plum blossom orchard. The tartness keeps it fresh and not too cloying. I think it loses a little of the tartness in the drydown, which is a warm and smooth sandalwood/labaduam. A very wearable scent that feels happy.
Scared Scarab -- Victor said it's inspired by the blue lotus flower, which is a type of incense used by ancient Egyptians. Definitely smells like it, a simmeringly hot sandy desert with an almost mineral-incense tone. Quite lovely and evocative, I prefer it to Camel.
Seahorse -- Warm sunny chillhop lofi beach. To me, it sounds like the new Gorillaz album track Tormenta ft. Bad Bunny.
Snowy Owl -- I liked this scent, but my partner loves it. It definitely smells arctic and icy, with hay and grass below. The mint note is lovely and addictive. I didn't care for the coconut since it reads 'tropical' to me but I appreciate how it adds a soft creamyness, like being enveloped in a cozy wintry nest.
Squid -- I love this. I told Victor it smells like HK and he was very confused. When I got home I realized why, the creamy toffee sweet opening and inky deep water smells is EXACTLY like drinking a super-sweetened milk tea while walking along the Avenue of Stars/Harbourfront at night. The ocean saltiness, the dried seafood and diesel boats while sipping your ultra-sweet condensed milk red tea at night. Absolutely gorgeous.
T-Rex -- lf you've ever melted plastic in a microwave or set your CPU on fire, smells like this. I like it cos its a very nostalgic scent, like burning your own CD-Rs

unreleased (R) -- Spicy gourmand, my partner adores it. It's sweet without being sticky, she guessed immortelle but actually it's a different heart note, however it does have that sunshine-y goldenness. I thought it smells like caramel pie crust.
unreleased (P) -- Sartorial fragrance that is extremely polished. If you like PdM or classic Penhaligon's style, you'll like this; the different notes played on the same violin, or different cloth cut into a classic 3-piece. I love this one and would buy it in a heartbeat.
unreleased (O.M) -- Cool botanical floral, the backroom of a florist shop in winter with the airflown tropical/hothoused flowers sitting in water.

Quick summary: I was banned from ever posting a review, Vine or otherwise. I was conscientious, fair & wrote great reviews. I was in the top 300 Vine reviewers & had 3256 Vine reviews over the past 4 years. No idea how many other reviews I had. I sent a non-Vine thriller book review with a key theme concerning surrogacy. Got rejected with a 1st warning, I assumed for using "sperm donor". Rewrote the sentence & instead used "fertilized egg". Received an email banning me because of breaking community guidelines. I went through the normal then some extra Amazon contacts but haven't received answers to my last two inquiries.
I love this Vine community. You've all been so supportive. But, this forum is for Vine members only & since they've blocked me from ever posting again, I don't see that I'll ever be reinstated. I'm going to contact them one more time to ask them for a list of words that aren't acceptable that makes the algorithm/bot throw out our your reviews. If I get a response, I'll share it so maybe it'll help one of you.
A rundown that might help. I submitted several reviews a day because some days I'd forget to submit the ones I wrote days before. It shouldn't flag anything if you submit many daily. I was anonymous, friends & family didn't know what reviews mine were so couldn't "like" them unfairly. I never contacted a seller, didn't return anything, only contacted CS for things like clearing reviewed items from my TBR list that had been reviewed & accepted already (after several months). I tested & researched & wrote what I thought someone who had no idea what the product was would want to know before buying it. I was proud of my work & looked at it as a side job that helped my large family & also provided many things to a ministry that cares for others.
I had my daughter, who also writes (not reviews), read my book review & she agrees that it was most likely a mistake that the review was flagged. There's nothing else I can do to fix this. I'm mainly sad about it because of the unfairness of it & that I can't review anything at all. I hope this info helps someone wondering why they had something rejected. The only thing I'm almost certain about is that the ones who write 5-word reviews don't get kicked out because they don't use enough words to be objectionable.
I won't bad-mouth Amazon or the Vine program, I loved it. And I thought coming on here was so fun but now it just hurts because I'm no longer part of it. Continue to be kind to the newbies & helpful to one another. I'll really, really miss you all!

One month ago, I rehomed my baby boy. Alfie is a 2 year old corgi who has had aggressive behavior since he was young. I got him as a puppy and it started off as food aggression and progressed into more. He would bite my ex and I, and my ex would try to “correct” him with methods that were incorrect (I did not know at the time). Anyways, the methods we used made Alfie more aggressive and made his fear and anxiety worse. Alfie & I ended up moving away and after the move, Alfie’s behavior got significantly worse. He would attack me, relentlessly. I had no way of stopping him and he would keep coming back to attack me more. This happened a lot, and would end with me having extreme panic attacks. I was drowning in guilt and anxiety. I knew Alfie needed real help and the only thing I have done was put him on anxiety medication. I know it’s completely wrong, trust me. I should have done more like got a behaviorist or a trainer. Honestly, money was a huge concern for these things and I developed severe depression and had an extreme lack of motivation and energy and it was hard to keep up with a dog, let alone one who needed a lot of attention and training. Alfie was the first dog I’ve ever had and I got him when I was very young. Im not trying to make excuses but just trying to give some perspective. Anyways a month ago I decided I needed to rehome him after I went on a trip and he attacked 3 of my family members while I was gone. A wonderful lady reached out to me willing to take Alfie in, she is a behaviorist/trainer and has 10 yrs experience as a vet tech. She works at a dog center where they have training, grooming, and boarding. She has had Alfie for a month now and has made great progress training him, she also gave him a job at the pet center and he goes to work with her every day. Im so proud of Alfie and I’m so happy for him. I just feel so guilty and just sad. Giving him away was the hardest and most selfless thing I’ve ever had to do. It felt like grief, there’s no other way to explain it. I cried for days. Unfortunately, I’ve also been a lot less anxious.. I didn’t realize how scared of him I was. It makes me feel so guilty that now I feel lighter without him.

You have awoken me from my slumber. I have been summoned from retirement by someone posting about the Lindbergh baby. I cannot sit idly by when conspiracy theories are being spread.
Hi, I’m surprise_b1tch, and you can read my series of posts on the Lindbergh Trial here, along with a bunch of other write-ups I made back when I had free time. The trial took place in my hometown. It was a part of my fifth grade curriculum. I attended a reenactment at the Historic Flemington Courthouse. I walked by the Courthouse (still standing) and Jail (still standing) and haunted Union Hotel (falling apart while in legal limbo) every day. As you can see, I’m perhaps a little too interested in this case. I was researching it for a while, but ultimately decided that I had nothing to add to what I consider the definitive book on the case, Hauptmann’s Ladder by Richard T. Cahill Jr.
You see, to get anything published on a case as old and as popular as the Lindbergh kidnapping, you need to come up with a juicy new theory - or else no one cares. Books with a fun new theory sell. If your groundbreaking theory is “everyone is right - Hauptmann did it, and did it alone” - well, no one cares. Good luck getting published. (Honestly, how did Cahill do it?!)

In short, I will offer what I consider the most prominent evidence. I’m not going to cite anything, in the interest of time; I’m going to broadly wave at Google, Cahill, and my previous posts to cover my ass. If you have any specific questions I’ll be happy to find sources for you.
Let’s Get Into It: Woodgrain Forensics Don’t Lie
The Lindbergh Trial is notable in that it was one of the first cases in the US decided based on forensic evidence. Specifically, this case was decided based on forensic woodgrain analysis.

Specifically, this woodgrain analysis came from the ladder used in the kidnapping and the wood floorboards of the attic of Hauptmann’s house. Some of the wood used in the ladder was purchased from a lumber mill, however, some of it was made from the floorboards of his house.
That’s right. This wood was built into Hauptmann’s home. You can view a picture of his attic in the above link. Hauptmann built the ladder out of his own house.
This forensic evidence has been analyzed by modern professionals and is as strong today as it was in 1935: conclusive beyond a reasonable doubt.
For any conspiracy theory to work, Hauptmann had to have been in on it.
Hauptmann was caught spending the ransom money, and more of the ransom money was found in his house. Forensic bookkeeping accounted for every penny of the ransom money either being in Hauptmann’s possession or having been spent by Hauptmann in the following years.
If you want to argue that Hauptmann was in on it - well, feel free, but there is absolutely no evidence to support the argument. Nothing was ever found linking Lindbergh and Hauptmann. They had no contact prior to the kidnapping. No phone calls, no letters, no testimony from someone who had ever seen them together. There is no evidence whatsoever.
Was the crime capable of being carried out alone?
In a word, yes. It wasn’t that hard. Hauptmann scouted the Lindbergh’s home in advance (his car was seen there multiple times in the weeks/days prior). He knew which window was the nursery - the day of, Anne went for a walk, and waved up to her son as his nanny held him in the nursery window. Hauptmann was probably watching at that time, if he hadn’t already confirmed the location. Hauptmann had observed the family’s routine and knew when the baby would be put to bed.
March 1, 1932 was a windy night, and it would’ve been hard to hear much of anything over the wind outside. Despite this, the Lindberghs actually heard the kidnapping take place - they heard a sound that sounded like a crate in their pantry coming apart. However, they brushed it off and did not investigate.
This was likely the ladder breaking. The ladder was handcrafted by Hauptmann, who was a carpenter. The ladder was built to be as light as possible, and was constructed in three sections, so that it would fit in Hauptmann’s car. However, Hauptmann had calculated the ladder to support just his weight - not the weight of him and the baby. The ladder broke on his way down, and this is likely when he dropped the baby. I believe this is the point where the baby died, though there's no way to know for sure.
Even if the baby unexpectedly died in the fall, there is no evidence that Hauptmann ever made preparations to keep the baby alive (contrary to what he would tell Lindbergh). There is no evidence as to what his plan was beyond the ransom.
Actions Taken After the Kidnapping
This was the year of our Lord 1932, and crime scene forensics were in their infancy - so much so that the police actually botched the taking of fingerprints in the nursery. Lindbergh was an American hero, and the police granted him exceptions they would not have otherwise. That said, they did not bungle the deciding evidence: the ladder and Hauptmann spending the ransom money. This is what convicted Hauptmann. This is the evidence that still stands strong today.
Was the Baby Deformed? And How Fucked Up Is It That We’re Asking That, Anway?
So where did all this bullshit about the baby come from?
Lindbergh was a celebrity. Not just celebrity - he was American royalty. He was so famous that his celebrity cannot be overstated. Lindbergh made the first solo transatlantic flight, and became a worldwide household name.
Anne, the daughter of a US Ambassador, was not exactly a nobody either. The two of them together were a power couple.
As a result, they were no strangers to the paparazzi. In fact, the two would dress in disguises sometimes just to be able to walk down the street in NYC without being spotted.
Understandably, when Lindbergh had his baby, he wanted to shield him from the spotlight. He gave the paparazzi little access to his son. The paparazzi didn’t like this, so naturally, they speculated wildly about why Lindbergh wouldn’t give them access to his infant child - because it couldn’t be simply because he wanted some damn privacy. They speculated wildly about all sorts of diseases and malformations. Clearly, Lindbergh needed to be ashamed of his son in order to keep him from the paparazzi. That’s why he wouldn’t let them take pictures of him and stalk him constantly.
It’s giving Michael Jackson making his kids wear masks all the time. Britney Spears attacking a paparazzo with an umbrella. Ah, some things never change!
Here is how disgusting the paparazzi were at that time: when Lindbergh’s son was in the morgue, a paparazzo snuck in and snapped pictures of his deceased, partly skeletal corpse. And published them.
In response to this (it is speculated), Lindbergh ordered the body of his son cremated. He felt that a gravesite would surely be vandalized. I mean, they SNUCK IN THE MORGUE AND TOOK A PICTURE OF HIS DEAD BABY. Who’s to say some whackadoo wouldn’t try to dig up the grave?!
But of course, that just created MORE speculation. He cremated his baby to destroy evidence!!!
Here’s the facts: There is absolutely no evidence, in the autopsy or from testimony of those who cared for the baby, that Charles Jr. had any deformities. I recall reading a quote from his pediatrician saying he was healthy and normal and well-developed, but I do not have time to track it down right now, so I’ll quote from Hauptmann’s Ladder instead:

The Lindberghs became very secretive about their son as they felt the constant media exposure was not a positive influence. Unfortunately, the attempt to protect him led to numerous rumors that the child was somehow deformed. The media speculated that they were being kept away from the child because Charles Lindbergh was embarrassed about his son’s imperfection. It never occurred to reporters that they were the real reason for the Lindbergh’s overprotectiveness of their child.
…The rumors were so out of control that Charles felt compelled to call a press conference. Five newspaper chains were not permitted to attend as they had actually published stories claiming that the child was deformed. Lindbergh specifically addressed the media about their coverage of his son by saying, “One thing I do hope for him, and that is when he is old enough to go to school, there will be no reporters dogging his footsteps.”

I guess you could try to view this as proof that the baby was deformed, in that the lady doth protest too much. But then… are you really going to argue for the morality of paparazzi?
Betty Gow, the baby's nurse, testified that the child was in perfect health. His mother said the same, and her diaries confirm it. Everyone who ever saw the baby or was in contact with him everyday says he was normal. He hit his milestones.
The baby did have a cold on the day he was kidnapped. But that was it: a normal cold that normal children get. Betty Gow rubbed Vick’s on his chest before she put him to bed.
So, which is more likely: the baby was hideously deformed with no evidence of this, or paparazzi are just evil, merciless creatures who wouldn’t leave the Lindberghs alone?
The baby had one deformity, so tiny that it didn’t impact anything: two of his toes overlapped. It wouldn’t prohibit him from walking or anything. He just had funny-looking toes. This was part of how they identified the body. You can see it in the pictures of his corpse. I don’t recommend looking them up, but you do you.
In Conclusion
The evidence is incontrovertible: Hauptmann did it. Whatever claims you’re going to make, he has to be in on it.
Was Charles Lindbergh a nasty little eugenist? Yes, but I hate to break it to you: it was the 1930s. A lot of people were. It was considered the “enlightened” stance at the time. You know who else supported eugenics? Helen Keller, I shit you not. Liking Nazis (again, not unpopular at the time: Hitler appeared in Homes & Gardens magazine in 1938) does not mean Lindbergh murdered his son.
Here’s the truth: the crime wasn’t that hard to do. All you needed was eyes, maybe binoculars, and a ladder. Hauptmann just got lucky. And honestly? Not that lucky. It was the 1930s. There wasn’t any security. Just a big old house in the middle of nowhere.
