As per usual I was the first to arrive at Central Command’s Conference Hall. All while Sally decided to needlessly narrate my actions through my personal comms earpiece. Her crackling voice taking on a dramatic tone as I make my way to the Director’s chair,
The conference hall was modeled after an assembly hall that the countries of the old-world would gather in to discuss and make major decisions. Those countries were no more. However, in their place were now the Departments being ran by their respective heads. The states, provinces, and prefectures that once made up those countries were now the sectors. Times had changed, but some things stayed the same. Such is life; such is nature. Such is how humans and the major governing bodies worked.
The conference hall was more or less the same as it’s old-world counterpart, there were a few modifications in the design; modifications here and there namely the inclusion of the Overseer’s podium and the supporting Director’s chair right underneath it and the major display screen that allowed for off-world representatives to make an appearance. Meetings here were of the same vein; department heads would gather here to give their reports on any major or minor breakthroughs they had made and to discuss any major decisions regarding their respective departments. Things ran smoother than the old-world, but the bickering and needless uncooperative stubbornness born from ancient grudges or beliefs of the respective heads still permeated many of their decisions and thought processes.
I took my seat and as soon as I did so, the hiss of door signaled the arrival of the first head. The head of Department 3 (The United Kingdom): Winston Marshals their appointed “Prime Minister”. “Lord Director,” he says with a bow before taking his seat. Despite his aged and gentleman appearance, he was prone to getting riled up by a certain “yank” as he would put it and was a heavy drinker.
Oh, speak of the devil if it isn’t the yank himself, the head of Department 2 (The United States): Aubrey Adams the “President”. A mischievous grin accentuates the wrinkles of her face as the woman with greying blond hair playfully elbows her fellow department head as she takes her seat. “Howdy, howdy Winston! Still being an old stick in the mud,” it sounded innocent enough, if it weren’t for the fact that I was aware of their decade old spat.
“Ms. Adams,” he curtly says before focusing on nothing at all. Whatever Ms. Adams wanted out of that interaction, she got it as she was simply chuckling to herself and giving me a side-eye as if she thought I got it. I nodded along and awaited for the others to arrive. Usually after Ms. Adams was-
Before I can finish that thought I am interrupted by an energetic and booming voice, “AHOY THAR YE LANDLUBBERS!”
Ah yes there he is now, the other department head that also managed to ruffle the few remaining hairs of Mr. Marshals. The head of Department 3B (The Principality of Sealand): L’tow Mish-vensai, or “Captain Kidd” as he likes to be called now; the “King of Sealand”. He is an Asobi, an aquatic race of merfolk hailing from the planet of Solban. Out of all the Asobi that attached themselves to human media, he was by far the most eccentric.
For starters he wore a navy officers cap with a crown impaled through it (the crown belonged to the former king of Sealand), his badge of office was a human trident (vastly different than the leviathan harpoons his people used throughout their history), an eyepatch (he doesn’t need it, but insists), and to complete the look a curly fake beard (the Asobi lack facial hair, but instead some have fins or tendrils that can be considered their hair).
L’tow tipped his crown to each and every one of us as performed his greeting. “Arr, good tidings to ye Lady Adam’s, Lord Marshal, and Admiral Johnson,” the pirate impression grated with the Asobi’s naturally smooth and deep voice, but he still committed to it anyway. While Sally and Adams enjoyed every bit of this, Marshal’s dreaded every bit of it mainly due to the fact that he refuses to acknowledge Department 3B as it’s own department. The 3B was meant to placate him, but it still frustrated him that we addressed it as its own independent Department.
Marshal worked his jaw before saying, “Sir L’tow.”
“Oy! My good Lord, please, please. L’tow is a name that I do not go by any longer,” he took a dramatic bow. While rising and stamping the end of his trident on the ground he proudly announced, “Please, address me by my true identity: CAPTAIN KIDD!”
Adams stomped a boot on her shared desk and pointed fingers guns at L’tow. “That’s right Winston! Please address our dear Captain by his true name, Captain Kidd!”
L’tow gave her a sharp toothed grin and responded in kind, making audible “pew” “pew’s” as he did so. Much to Winston’s dismay.
Clearing his throat Marshal asked the question that always seemed to grate in his throat, “*Ahem*, why is the chief of sector-“
I cut him off, “You mean the head of department 3B.”
“But sir!”
Shaking my head at this, I decided to remind him once again. “Department 3B despite being within your territory was un-claimed by your department for the longest time and with recent advances with them expanding and building underwater facilities they can no longer be considered a sector. L’tow’s predecessor, King John Ivars made many sacrifices and committed his all in the creation of Atlantis Station. It is only to appease you that Department 3B is called 3B and is not assigned a true designation.”
Winston made no further attempts to argue. Nor would I let him. While I was not Director back then for the creation of Atlantis station and the formation of Department 3B, I read the reports. During the beginning days of Earth’s conversion to a containment facility Department 3’s Navy could not handle some of the Anomalies that were dumped in their waters. However, through sheer will power and many sacrifices of John Ivars and Department 3B they were able to suppress the anomalies and tame the seas. Department 3 was humiliated and demanded that 3B turn themselves in to absorbed into their department. King Ivars and the rest of the staff under his command refused and a Department war that lasted for a day broke out. Thankfully the Director at the time put a stop to it and Department 3B was born.
The reason for Department 3B’s success was thanks to many Asobi corporations sponsoring and lending aid to them as at the time they had thought that 3B was their own department at the time. Over half of Department 3B’s staff and faculty are Asobi and they are proud to be considered fellow “seamen” by the human staff of 3B.
The development of L’tow becoming the new head of Department 3B was during my time as an intern under the previous Director. I had witnessed the duel myself. John Ivars body was starting to fail at the time, neither rejuvenation nor cloning that we had back then could bring him back to his prime and so he asked for staff and faculty to duel him for his position. L’tow was the first to step up and honored him, becoming the new head of Deparment 3B and becoming Captain Kidd.
I wanted to nip this problem in the bud once and for all. Glaring at Marshal, I asked. “While you and your predecessors may disapprove of Department 3B being their own independent department, how come you do not show the same feelings for Departments 7 (Ukraine) and 8 (Taiwan)?”
Marshal looked taken aback, “T-that’s because for the longest time in history, Sealand was nothing more than a-a seafort!” he stuttered. “In fact, calling it a seafort back then is too generous! It was just a platform of junk and scrap and-“
“Entitled and dated beliefs that hold no weight or bearing on the here and now” I stated.
“But sir! Winston pleaded. “This is history! We cannot simply-“
“Yes Winston, it is history. And we should learn from history. Russia which is now Department 7 failed in all of their attempts to invade and conquer Ukraine which is now Department 10. Just like how China which is now Department 12 failed in all of their attempts to invade and take over Taiwan which is now Department 16,” I lean forward and stare into his eyes. “Why is it that you take great offence to Department 3B existing, yet also are disgusted by the acts of Department 7 and Department 12 and their attempts at disregarding Department 10 and 16’s independence,” I ask.

Her eyes scan the monitor of her computer as she reads various reports and reviews facility discrepancies that have been marked as a priority. A rising gauge on one of the discrepancies catches attention and she snaps to it, quickly opening the report as well as the possible threat that is rising.
“I see. I see,” she mutters to herself. “This is a problem.”
She shakes her head at the current dilemma that she’s in. “Those fools made the executive order of putting all hands-on deck and moved all their local security teams to areas of least resistance, and now we have a barely addressed discrepancy over in Department 36B Sector 1.” She lets out a scoff before continuing, “*Tsk*, inefficient as per usual. However, a remedy for this problem.”
Very quickly she brings up a roster of Central Command Crewmembers currently looking for work. Only three end up piquing her interest.

Asobi (DW): An aquatic species resembling merfolk. They have residual tails that can assist with swimming alongside webbed feet and hands and their facial features lack a nose, but they do have holes where a nose should be alongside gills on the side of the neck that you’d expect from merfolk. Fins, ridges, and tendrils adorn their heads and bodies akin to the hair of human or the fur of the other species within the Galactic Commons. Their homeworld Solban is mostly covered in water with islands that dot the planet. The culture of the Asobi for the longest time was comparable to that of 19th human gentry and the style of their clothing matched that as it was reminiscent to that of Victorian fashion. However, in recent times there has been a surge of “pirate”, “navy”, and “islander” fashion as the Asobi have become exposed to human media and their portrayals of “seafaring” cultures.

The Asobi have an unhealthy fascination when it comes to Human media. Often times you’ll see one sporting tattoo’s, shark iconography, piercings, and even cutlasses; much to the light-hearted chagrin of humans and the dismay of the older generation of Asobi.
An Asobi is currently the head of Department 3B (Sealand). He goes by the Moniker of Captain Kidd (His actual name is L’tow Mish-vensai) and can be seen sporting a navy officers cap with a crown impaled through it (it belonged to the former king of Sealand), an eyepatch (he doesn’t need it, but insists), a trident, and to top it off a curly fake beard.

Risa Valen (DW): The Risa Valen are a rodent-like species with digitigrade legs. They are one of the tallest deathworld species in the Galactic Commons second to that of the Vacaian. They have prehensile tails that they can use to pick-up and use objects with ease and have been known to use their tails to wield an additional weapon or tool. Just like the Vacaian they sport digitigrade legs and can transition to quadrupedal locomotion. The homeplanet of the Risa Valen is simply called “Tel” meaning one in their language and it’s geography is similar to that of Earth except for the fact that mega-flora and fauna seem to be common. In addition, storms and violent weather also seem to be common, leading them to either live in the hollows of the various mega-trees, the roots of said trees, in cities built into mountains and cliffs, or in the underground.

The Risa Valen prefer function over form, causing their culture and outlook on life to be very utilitarian. What is strict and military for some of the species within the Galactic Commons is commonplace and civilian to the Risa Valen.

All of a sudden, the overwhelming darkness below was pierced by a light so radiant that it seemed to rebound within this small space. Each pearl of moisture was illuminated against the stone, shining like little stars painted against the damp surface.
In legends past, Starlight Grace's splendour was such that this artifact alone could pierce the foul blackness which shielded the Witch of Calamity once plaguing our fledgling kingdom. Noble as our ancestors' hearts, tenacious as the towns they founded and virtuous as the heavens which shone upon their labour, Starlight Grace was the symbol of the kingdom's spirit …..... and also my reading light.
Truly, my sword was astonishingly convenient!
What need did one have of candles and fireplaces when I was gifted the light of the heavens themselves? Yes, Starlight Grace could fell the hordes of darkness, but more importantly, it allowed me to finish the page turners that raced against my need for sleep.
I pointed my sword towards my feet.
A murky, shallow surface of water was illuminated at the bottom of the revealed well. Not one, but several buckets shorn of their rope were lying half-submerged amongst a wet collage of algae and foliage.
What were once leaves and florets of wheat blown from the fields above now formed its own habitat. I chose not to think about what ghastly species of caterpillars had opted to make their home within that mass of virulent green.
Above me, I heard a hushed gasp. I glanced up at my captivated audience.
“A-Amazing ...” murmured the alchemist, her eyes wide.
“I know,” added Coppelia, no less stunned. “I would've put money on there being at least one dead body down there.”
I redirected my gaze back down.
“If you still wish to make that wager, then you're free to.”
“Really? Will you bet against me?”
I narrowed me eyes at the pit of algae.
“No.”
“Shame. There's definitely something dead down there. So, going down?”
With that, Coppelia tapped the top rung of the ladder with her foot. I parted my lips, ready to discuss with her the non-existent notion of hurrying a princess when the alchemist let out a gulp so audible that it echoed within the well.
“Such a magnificent sword … How did you come to acquire it?”
“It was gifted to me as a young child. Not a day has gone by where I haven't had it by my side.”
“I see … then it's no wonder my father gave the task of delivering Apple to you. You must be a highly accomplished swordswoman to have earned his respect so swiftly.”
“N … Naturally! It's said that … warriors may take the measure of one another more keenly than even a merchant and their wares. My righteous soul and exemplary skill at arms is revealed to any who care to look.”
The alchemist wore an expression of fervent agreement as she studied the sword in my grip. For my part, I pressed it up against the side of the ladder as I began to climb down the well.
It was not the most dignified of activities, but I was saving the kingdom. I could easily spin this unbecoming descent into a far grander tale once the time came to pay off the bards and the minstrels. Why, this was something that would earn me the adoration of the masses! Most princesses only climbed up, and yet here I was, descending even deeper than where their knees fell as they grovelled towards me.
My, wasn't I just a princess of the people?
In moments, I heard, and felt, my far more fearful comrades finding purchase on the ladder. Accepting my natural role as leader, I led the descent with grace and maturity, never once noticing how disgustingly slimy this ladder was, or wondering how much fire would be needed to erase the smell of algae from my clothes afterwards.
“You spoke of dangers,” I said upwards, past Coppelia's graceful figure as she practically slid from rung to rung. “Aside from tunnel bats and tripping over one's feet in the darkness, what other dangers can be expected within the waterways?”
“I … ah, it's quite slippery isn't it? Um, I'm not sure. I would expect monsters to reside in the dark and wet conditions. But from what I know of the well, the only things other than tunnel bats to escape are water slimes and strangler crabs.”
“Creatures that even a newly trained soldier would be expected to readily dispatch. Is that all?”
“I believe so. It's the unknown that concerns me. But so far, I've seen no records to suggest that anything more sinister resides here. I think it'll be fine. Maybe. Probably. I would traverse these caverns myself, but, well … I don't have a glowing sword.”
The alchemist's voice faded with something between shame and embarrassment.
Of course, for an ordinary citizen, even common monsters were beyond them. Slimes, crabs and bats failed to worry me. After all, I had Starlight Grace. And more pertinently, I had a clockwork doll with enough arm strength to propel me to safety if and when required.
Still, I wondered why I could feel goosebumps beginning to appear?
And hmm … what was that ominous groaning in the distance?
“Hey, hey, Juliette?”
I glanced up and frowned. It was one thing for to be spoken to so casually, but the way Coppelia did it with such a blasé smile would have sent tutting hurtling her way in any other context.
Curiously, I didn't find it entirely displeasing. Perhaps because the handmaids who'd served my family longest were permitted in private to refer to us with a degree of informality. It was, in a limited capacity, refreshing.
“Yes, what is it?”
“Well, I just had this thought,” she said, animatedly pointing at her own head. “If we're not actually sure what's beyond this highly suspect well, would it not be prudent to pause, take stock of our limited supplies, re-evaluate the purpose of this hastily arranged venture and perhaps seek even just a little bit of information before ploughing head first into the uncharted darkness?”
I paused to consider a crack in the stone, then waved away Coppelia's concerns.
Really now! Nitpicking over plans is what my brothers and sisters did. And look where that had gotten them. Assigned to ghastly roles filled with royal duties and obnoxious responsibilities, without a minute to spend on their own whims.
That was not the life of luxury I intended to live.
… Moreover, time spent planning was time spent not doing! My livelihood was at stake and I had a long list to go through. I was here to hurry, not to worry!
Thus, I shrugged and continued climbing. But not without giving my answer.
“Ohhohohoho!! Darkness? What need do I have to fear the darkness? Indeed, it is the darkness who should fear me!”
I raised Starlight Grace ever so slightly, drawing on the last gasp of sunlight peering down the well to reflect off its radiant edge. A prism of blinding light momentarily lit up the entirety of the well, before falling solely against the bottom of the well once more.
“Ooooh …”
Coppelia applauded, not even requiring her hands to hold herself steady against the ladder. I accepted it with good grace.
That's right. I had nothing to fear!
For I was the Third Princess to the Kingdom of Tirea. And that meant even this darkness belonged to me. If it troubled me, I'd find a way to tax it!
And yes, that included the strange groaning in the distance too.

Kazue was of conflicted feelings as she watched the adventuring party set forth to delve into her dungeon. On the one tail, this was her dungeon and her creatures, she really wanted them to at least have a good showing! On another tail, her mom was turning out to be way cooler than she ever thought. On a third tail, her husband was working hard to make this a challenge, and she didn’t want his efforts to go to waste.
It was a good thing kitsune could count problems on tails instead of on hands. The thought made her want to giggle, but even in her own head that sounded like stress laughter, and repressed it. Which was not an easy thing for her to do, but it wasn’t as bad as usual. Which brought up another point of mixed feelings.
When Mordecai had asked her to trust him, she’d only given it a moment’s thought. Aside from the fact that over the past several weeks she had fallen for him, she’d also already thrown her lot in with him. In for a copper, in for a gold. Though it didn’t hurt that she had the security of knowing most of the people there. She knew her husband was clever, a clever person wasn’t going to do something stupid near such a crowd, so therefore he wasn’t doing something stupid. Or at least not the bad sort of stupid, but there was the risk of impulsive-stupid, which she only considered after she’d had the tea. She was rather familiar with the subject of impulsive-stupid on a personal level.
She hadn’t noticed what the tea was doing until Mordecai had asked her how she was feeling, which caused Kazue to take a moment to reflect on how she was feeling. Which was to say, she was feeling great, and that in itself was kind of scary. Mostly because she didn’t know why she was feeling great. And if she didn't know to analyze what and how she was thinking, it's easy not to notice what her mind was doing. Her core and avatar had already split their focus to different things, yet her head didn’t hurt while keeping track of conversations, and she didn't need to retreat into her thoughts to recover from the effort. It was still kind of tiring, but it was tolerable, and it didn’t make her feel quite so fuzzy-headed.
Which meant she was entirely free to pay attention to both what Mordecai was doing and what was going on with the party itself, and still keep track of the conversation with the Matr-, er, with Aia. Though by the time the party had decided to take a short break for the fourth floor, she was feeling it wear off, and leaned into Mordecai to quietly ask, “Um, that tea you made for me earlier, could I have another?”
He looked over at her thoughtfully, and she could feel him weighing options. “Is it feeling noisy again?” Kazue nodded mutely. She felt embarrassed, though she couldn’t have told anyone why she was embarrassed. And ‘fuzzy’ seemed more accurate to her, but she could see someone else call it noisy. Which left her wondering how he knew.
Even more puzzled was Moriko, who was stuck watching the two of them talk about a subject indirectly without having yet been let in on the topic. But with a guest it wasn’t time to get into any of it, so he simply made a cup for her and handed it over. This time she watched the creation of the brew carefully, and made note of its ingredients. She blinked. It wasn’t that hard to make, and she was able to backfill the conceptual process to create it. Start with a blend of about 90% tea leaves, plus a few other herbs noted for helping with alertness such as ginseng and ginger, brew a big pot of it, make it strong, then just remove a lot of the water. Add honey to compensate for the taste, which only helped so much.
That was it? Just a concentrated wake-up brew? OK, not ‘just’, she wasn’t sure how most people would be able to concentrate it that much without burning it. But that was all it took to make her head feel more like when she was zoned in? And how the hells did he know? She had so many questions, but she still only had two 'minds', and one needed to focus on entertaining their guest while the other was keeping track of what was going on in the rest of the dungeon.So for the moment she just tried to sip at her bitter brew. At least she could make her own now and as a direct copy. Mordecai was the one who had spent time bringing the concept into existence in their shared information.
“What is going on with you three?” Aia asked with a sigh. “If you can speak of it of course.” Mordecai and Moriko looked towards their guest, but Kazue could feel that the decision weighed on her. It was her issue after all. She only hesitated a moment.
“It’s complicated, and I need to take some time to figure it out. Depending upon what I learn, I may call upon you when I can to talk about it. But right now it is private, sorry. It just needed to be dealt with quickly.” Kazue said. The dark-haired nine-tail tilted her head to the side as she gave Kazue a curious look, briefly becoming The Matriarch again. It made Kazue nervous, but she was able to keep herself restrained to just flickering her ears slightly, and refused to fill in the silence.
“Very well, I apologize for prying, but seeing all three of you distracted when other things are happening is a little concerning.” Her expression softened as she spoke. “I would be happy to lend an ear later if you chose.”
Kazue held back from sighing in relief and changed the topic instead. “So, Mordecai love, what’s the game plan? You are too competitive to let this go, but I have to admit they are kind of trashing the place.” This sort of stuff was very much not her forte, but she also knew that she needed to learn it.
He smiled in response. “I haven’t fully formed all of my ideas yet, but I know where I want to start. I want to fill in two of our boss spots. Horace for our second fourth-floor boss, and our stony friend for our second raid boss. I know more about what I want to do with an earth elemental, I’ve been thinking about it since he came to us, but I am open to ideas with Horace, assuming neither you nor Horace have any objections.”
Kazue pulled an absolute blank on anything special to have her librarian do in an actual fight. His ability to eject people from the library was a function of her intent to enforce the rules that were part of the challenge. Her mind briefly bounced to thinking about how focused Mordecai had been about ‘intent’ recently, but then she yanked her thoughts back on track. “I’m OK with it. I’ll ask Horace, you talk to the elemental.”
She closed her eyes briefly to send her mental query to the orangutan, and after some consideration got an affirmative ‘ook’. That made her pause a second in confusion. Apes were already rather smart creatures, and she was certain that the upgrades she’d given him should enable him to physically speak, and thus more than capable mentally. Was he just choosing not to? She shook that off and opened her eyes.
“He says yes. Well, ‘ook’, but I’m pretty certain it’s a yes.” Mordecai raised an eyebrow, and she just shrugged to show her confusion.
“OK then.” Mordecai replied, “Well, I’ve also gotten an affirmation, and I’ve named him Enki. He’s soaking up the mana pool for his slot and growing right now, and I’ve made sure to emphasize the traits I want for him, namely that he can flow unimpeded through all stone, including worked stone and dungeon stone. Outside of that, I suspect he’s mostly going to be brute strength at first, though I am sure he’ll develop more abilities as we all grow stronger.”
He leaned forward over the table where his illusion was displayed and moved it to show the boss room for the library. “Given his abilities, Enki has an entire floor to hide under, and pop up at the right time to land surprise attacks. It’s hard for people to look up and down at the same time. But while Biblios out in the open is fine for a weaker group, with three strong spell casters he’d be blasted out of the air quickly. So I want to also develop some cover for Biblios, and integrate Horace into the fight. So I am opening the floor to ideas before I talk about my own, I don't want to cut off any thoughts.”
The four of them looked at the illusion in silence for a little while. Aia was probably not going to give any of her thoughts, she had a bit of a conflict of interest here. And Kazue was coming up blank trying to figure out what sort of special powers she’d want to give an ape to become a boss. She had a feeling that making him bigger would just make things worse here.
“Oh, I have an idea!” Moriko said with sudden excitement animating her. “So, in addition to our regular training, we often get some opportunities to spar with various masters who are passing through. This is to say, we ‘trade pointers’ by getting beaten up, and hopefully manage to learn something in the process. And to be fair, most of us do. Anyway, one of them was the crazy old dude who had mastered Monkey Style. And not just ground fighting either. The arena for him was put together with a lot of our climbing exercise equipment plus extra scaffolding put together just for this. We were given a day to get used to fighting in the arena, and it was clear that this guy wasn’t going to be staying on the ground, so we got used to climbing everything as best we could. Didn’t matter. That man could swing through there like he was an actual monkey. Bastard broke my nose when he swung down for a kick, then let go of his ‘branch’ while he still had momentum, pushing me back before he used me as a launch point to jump up to a different branch.” She shook her head with a rueful smile. “It was a blast, but I’m thankful for healing magic, or I’d probably have a crooked nose.”
Kazue was having trouble visualizing it exactly, but Mordecai was smiling evilly, so she knew that she was going to find out, and moments later she could feel Mordecai begin to reshape the Annex. While he did so, Moriko continued to talk about the visiting master. “He was amazing. Our masters sent us into the arena in groups of ten, 15 minutes apart, or when the last trainee went down, whichever happened first. Lots of people tried to form defensive groups to buy time and let our numbers build, but I don’t think any group ever hit the 15-minute mark. He had the best stories too. Apparently, he met a group of awakened apes and monkeys who were studying in a far-off monastery on another continent. Given how perfect his fighting style was, I could almost believe his tales. Though I am pretty certain he was ribbing us on one thing, he claimed the head monk of the monastery was a silver-back named Ki.”
There was a heartbeat of stunned silence as that awful pun settled into place, and Kazue burst into giggle fits. “Oh gods above, that has to be a joke, right? Like, no druid would actually do that to a creature they awakened, would they?” Ki, the ape monk. The idea was ridiculous. Mordecai only shook his head in amusement while he continued his work, and Aia sighed, lowering her face into her hands.
Moriko grinned. “I know, I am with you on that. But he swore up, down, and sideways that it was true. We tried to get him drunk to see if he’d change his tune, but the man could guzzle fermented drake’s bane without blinking an eye.” She snorted. “Mixed advantage of our training I guess. Harder to poison, but harder to enjoy a drink too.”
While she was talking, Mordecai had finished modifying the Annex, growing branches between the bookcases in a complicated pattern, but as he did so Kazue noticed him doing something else as well, creating covered intersections and tying them together. Not physically, but… she turned the full attention of her core there and watched ... something being connected. Language was failing her to describe the connections, but as she watched her core instinctively analyzed what he was doing, and she felt herself absorbing mathematical concepts she’d never heard of. It itched. Specifically, it made her core itch. That was new, not to mention extremely unpleasant, and not entirely accurate since the core didn’t have nerves, but once again language failed to give her an exact word, and itch described so many physical and mental sensations already.
He also connected the network of intersections to a dozen points in newly carved tunnels behind the bookcases. But these were a little different, they drifted randomly throughout the tunnels. “What is up with those connection points? And why does that set drift randomly, and why are they set behind the bookcases instead of in the arena?”
Mordecai chuckled softly “Well, this is me testing my limits. What I’ve done is connect these points,” here he highlighted the spots on the map for Moriko and Aia to see, “so that they are spatially adjacent. It’s not entirely a new thing for us, you touched on this sort of reality-changing when you created the library. The fourth floor is not 5 stories below the third, yet the library fits just fine. Don’t look at all of it, higher dimensional math is one thing, actually seeing in higher dimensions as a creature that exists in our three spatial dimensions is another.”
Mordecai’s words made Kazue start, as that was exactly what she was about to do. At first she was thinking he just knew her that well, but then she made a different connection. “Oh, you did that before didn’t you?”
“Guilty as charged, though that was in my original dungeon, and I had ten floors at the time. My core had a headache for a week. No, don’t ask me how that works, as far as I can tell I never figured that one out. That was one of the memories I kept as a warning, I would be so annoyed if I experienced that again, then recovered the memory that could have prevented it. But as for the random ones, it offsets things a bit. It does make it harder for the party to figure out which bookshelf Horace might be behind, but it also makes it harder for Horace to have an opening exactly where he wants. Though with sufficient time he can also just dash through the tunnels. I made sure there are plenty of vertical sections and hand grips everywhere. This way he can potentially ambush from behind them as well. Once the party knows that he can move between the intersections, they probably won't think about a different set of locations until Horace uses them.”
She could well imagine how annoying that would be. Kazue also had an idea that might work with this ambush setup. “Oh, Mordecai, I had a thought. So, I kind of want Horace to keep the librarian theme, what if he could use books as weapons? Maybe throw them or something if someone isn’t close?” Mordecai tilted his head thoughtfully, while Moriko chuckled.
“I know Horace won’t be up to my old master’s skill, but the idea of throwing that style together with a teleporting ‘archer’ sounds all kinds of annoying. Not necessarily much more deadly, but frustrating.”
The monk’s words made Mordecai smile evilly once more. “You are quite right love, it would be. And imagine if he could not only throw heavy tomes, but ink as well? And I don’t just mean ink, I mean any ink.” Moriko looked a touch confused, but his comment sent Kazue’s mind racing, and she could see from Aia’s expression that the matriarch was following the same chain of thought.
There were a lot of things that were considered inks. The line between ink and paint was a lot blurrier than most people thought, it mostly was about what surface it was going to be applied to. And there were a lot of different types of paper too. And then there were special ink compositions done for various symbols, religious or arcane. She could feel her core analyzing all her memories of doing art and calligraphy at the temple, expanding the concept of ink as far as it could and cross-referencing with the materials available to them.
Kazue also felt Mordecai act while her mind raced with possibilities, officially assigning Horace as their second fourth-floor boss and feeding his intent for a combined monk and projectile slinger, complete with an image of a satchel on either side. Then the node pulled that intent from them, combining their ideas together into a new whole as it merged with Horace’s form, drawing an evil smile from her to match Mordecai's. “Oh, I can’t wait to see what that’s going to be like!”
The process had made her a bit dizzy actually, but she was excited to have been more directly part of the boss-making process like that. Unfortunately, that was going to be a while still, which Mordecai was quick to point out. “Since that isn’t going to happen soon, I have another thing I want to work on. I wanted to make a special version of the staff for your mother. She may be wrecking the place, but she’s also dumping a ton of mana into it. Besides, she’s my mother-in-law, I think I can play favorites a little bit.”
As she and Mordecai started getting to work, Kazue couldn’t help but overhear Moriko sigh and turn to Aia. “I love them both, but they get wrapped up in this. I get it, and I am happy to contribute where I can, but times like this there isn’t a lot for me to do. I don’t suppose you happen to have a suitable combat style for a spar? They’d barely notice as long as we don’t break anything.”
The nine-tail laughed softly. “I’m afraid not. Oh, if it came down to it, I can hold my own in close quarters against most foes, but I am another spell specialist. Hmm, if you stop by the clan sometime, I can introduce you to my son. He runs the monastery side of the religious orders. I’m sure he’d be just as happy to trade some pointers with you as your old masters were.”
The exchange did make Kazue feel a little bit guilty, but it was really interesting to see the stuff Mordecai was doing too, and for once she wasn’t feeling burnt out and wanted to take full advantage of it.

After the Wizards' Council was reformed into the Ministry of Magic tighter restrictions were placed on the use of certain kinds of magic. The Killing Curse was deemed by the Ministry to be Dark magic and along with the Cruciatus and Imperius Curses, were declared "unforgivable" throughout the UK in 1717, with the Killing Curse considered to be the most deadly of the three.
The use of any Unforgivable curse on a human would carry the punishment of a life sentence without parole in Azkaban.
The Killing Curse was also used in 1927 by the Magical Congress of the United States of America on magical beasts considered dangerous.
This curse was used during the global wizarding war, both by Aurors and supporters of the Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. At one point during the height of the global wizarding war, the Auror Cassius Bell used this curse to kill a red-haired young witch.
During the First Wizarding War, when Barty Crouch Snr was in charge of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, he fought violence with violence, legalising the three Unforgivable Curses for Aurors against the Death Eaters in order to win the war. This was repealed once the war was over, as it was no longer necessary.
One of the most infamous events involving this curse happened on Hallowe'en (31 October) in 1981. Voldemort arrived at the Potter cottage in Godric's Hollow, after being told of its location by Peter Pettigrew, the Secret-Keeper of its Fidelius Charm, and murdered James and Lily Potter while they attempted to protect their infant son Harry.He cast the Killing Curse on Harry as well, but it backfired, therefore destroying Voldemort's body. This event led to Voldemort's first downfall, the end of the First Wizarding War, and Harry's fate being sealed as "The Boy Who Lived".
It should be noted that despite the curse being illegal, Aurors were allowed to use deadly force and the Unforgivable Curses against opponents during the First Wizarding War.
Shortly before their imprisonment in Azkaban for being Death Eaters, Merula Snyde's mother and father taught her the Killing Curse, in order to teach her the necessary self-defence she would need without them around to protect her.
When disguised as Alastor Moody using Polyjuice Potion during the 1994–1995 school year, Barty Crouch Jnr performed each Unforgivable Curse on a spider in front of his fourth-year Defence Against the Dark Arts class in September 1994. He told his class the penalty for using an Unforgivable Curse on another human being was life imprisonment in Azkaban. The Ministry did not approve of this because "Professor Moody" was showing these curses to those who did not truly need to see it (i.e., a class of 14-15-year-olds), but it did not appear to have been illegal. Harry Potter had always wondered how his parents had died, and witnessing the curse that killed them was clearly unpleasant.
Lord Voldemort also used the curse in 1994 to murder Frank Bryce, the Muggle caretaker who looked after Riddle House. The Killing Curse was known throughout most of the wizarding world to be Voldemort's signature spell. Lord Voldemort was a prolific user of the Killing Curse throughout his life. He used the curse excessively throughout the First and Second Wizarding Wars. He also used the curse outside of warfare, most likely for pleasure, having killed Charity Burbage, an outspoken muggle supporter, to satisfy the pure-blood supremacy of both himself and his supporters. His first known usage of the curse was at age 16, murdering his father, paternal grandfather and paternal grandmother. He used it to murder famous wand maker Mykew Gregorovitch and notorious Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, while searching abroad for the Elder Wand.
When he learned of Harry Potter's successful Gringotts break-in and retrieval of Hufflepuff's Cup, he murdered several goblins and other Gringotts employees in a fit of rage. Ironically, the Killing Curse, Voldemort's signature spell, was ultimately the very spell that led to his own defeat. On 2 May, during the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry willingly let Voldemort hit him with the Killing Curse, in order to be rid of the piece of Voldemort's soul he harboured at the time. In his final duel against Harry Potter, Voldemort would not realise that the curse would backfire (because the Elder Wand would not kill its true master), thereby finally putting an end to the Dark Lord. Harry thought surviving the Killing Curse for a second time felt like an "iron-clad punch".
When Voldemort took over the Ministry, the three curses were once again legalised; this time every wizard and witch had the right to use them as they pleased. In fact, they were practised in Hogwarts as part of the curriculum of the Dark Arts class under the tutelage of Professor Amycus Carrow, a Death Eater. After Voldemort's death and the reform of the Ministry under Minister Kingsley Shacklebolt, the three curses were made forbidden once again.
The Killing Curse was recognisable by the flash of green light and the rushing noise emitted from the caster's wand. When the curse hit a living, organic target it invariably killed them with pain, however without injury. It was known by most wizards as Lord Voldemort's signature spell.It was possible to intercept the curse with other spells, but this was extremely difficult as it required the energy jets of the two spells to collide.As the energy jets of virtually all spells were very small and fast, this had only ever been recorded as occurring by accident.
However, certain objects, such as the centaur statue of the Fountain of Magical Brethren, managed to block the curse without any visible damage to itself. It should be noted that the curse itself did not terminate the animation of (i.e. "kill") the statue, however, as the statue was only animated by magic and so presumably had no real life in him for the curse to take away.
The curse required great skill, power, and possibly intent in order to be performed correctly. In 1994, Barty Crouch Jnr, disguised as Alastor Moody, claimed that if all of the students before him were to get out their wands and perform it on him at one time, he would likely be completely unaffected as he believed they all lacked the necessary power needed to cast the spell. In 1997, during the Battle of the Astronomy Tower, Severus Snape also stated that to cast Unforgivable Curses, one needed both nerve and ability. It was possible to cast the curse nonverbally, as Bellatrix killed a fox without an incantation. It is possible that the Killing Curse, in addition to requiring the caster to be a very skilled witch or wizard, also required a genuine willingness and at many times desire to commit murder. Bellatrix Lestrange seemingly implied this was true of the Unforgivables, and it was true of the Cruciatus Curse,but not so much with the Imperius Curse.
One of the main reasons why Lord Voldemort demonstrated such an affinity for the curse was due to how exceptionally powerful and skilled he was magic wise, along with his complete and utter lack of remorse or value for the lives of fellow humans. For example, Draco Malfoy, despite possessing many undesirable personality traits, found himself unable to murder Albus Dumbledore because he did not want to actually kill him. Voldemort, on the other hand, had no such restraint and murdered countless people without remorse in his pursuit of power and immortality; in fact, he was fully prepared to murder one-year old Harry Potter upon deducing him to be a potential threat. He was intending to use this most heinous act to create his final Horcrux. He succeeded, during the act, a piece of Voldemort's soul entered Harry. This effectively turned him into a Horcrux. However, it would lead to his downfall and death.

Signs

The Killing Curse has no psychical signs and leaves no external marks. The Killing Curse was described as a jet or flash of blinding green light that "illuminates every corner of the room" followed by a rushing sound, which caused the victim instant death. Victims of the Killing Curse were identified by the fact that they simply appeared to have dropped dead for no biological reason. Indeed, victims seemed "perfectly healthy" apart from the fact that they were dead.
This lack of visible injuries was one that had confused Muggles throughout the years of its use, requiring many Ministry of Magic officials to modify memories. However, Harry Potter, who awoke after a Killing Curse cast by Lord Voldemort hit him, described the sensation as an "iron-clad punch", though this may have been caused by the destruction of the fragment of Lord Voldemort's soul contained within his body. However, when he was initially struck by the curse, it caused him no sensation at all.
When Voldemort was struck by his own rebounding Killing Curse after he attempted to kill Harry Potter the first time, he described the sensation of his soul being ripped from his body as being "pain beyond pain". Another defence employed against the Killing Curse was the creation of at least one Horcrux. Some of the methods Voldemort used, or planned to use, to survive in this state included; living off another, drinking unicorn blood, using the Philosopher's Stone (reduced to a wraith-like state and the stone destroyed soon after before he could),and creating a rudimentary body from unicorn blood and Nagini's venom.
Voldemort's Horcruxes tethered his soul to the world. The Curse drove his mangled soul from his body, leaving him to roam only as a shadowy spirit, unable to move on to the afterlife but is a less-than-alive life form. If possible, one can make a Regeneration potion to return to human form, but it required the bone of the father, the flesh of the servant, and the blood of an enemy. Because Voldemort required a servant to perform the rites of his rebirth, he was forced to spend thirteen years in hiding as he had no one who would come to his aid for such time.
Upon the destruction of all his Horcruxes, Voldemort had no more defences against death, and was finally killed by his own deflected Killing Curse.
The Priori Incantatem effect was when two wands that shared the same cores were put into battle against each other. One wand would then force the other wand to repeat its previously-cast spells. Because of this, a Killing Curse could be blocked if a wand that shared the killer's wand's core fired a spell at it: both spells would connect and thus the wizard had been spared by the Killing Curse.
Priori Incantatem occurred in the duel between Harry Potter and Voldemort in the graveyard during Harry's fourth year.Voldemort cast the Killing Curse and Harry cast the Disarming Charm, and because their wands had twin cores, Priori Incantatem occurred; Harry was not killed and was able to hold Voldemort off to give him time to escape.
Phoenixes were semi-protected from the Killing Curse, due to them being immortal. In 1996, Fawkes swallowed one intended for Albus Dumbledore, causing him to burst into flame and die instantly. However, he then was reborn from his ashes.
The spell could be directly countered using a Stunning Spell, in which case red and green jets of light would meet and create multi-coloured sparks. Since neither spell was able to reach its intended target, neither would have any effect, as the jets of light basically exploded on each other. However, this was particularly tricky, as it required both jets of light to collide with one another. It is unknown whether this was limited to the Stunning Spell or if it was possible to reflect the Curse with other spells, although during Harry and Voldemort's final duel a similar thing happened when Harry's Disarming Charm collided with Voldemort's Killing Curse, although the Elder Wand's allegiance to Harry had to be taken into consideration in this particular situation.
If another target was placed between the caster and the targeted individual, then the new target would take the hit of the Killing Curse, which could simply result in an object being destroyed or damaged in an explosion of flames. One could also avoid the effects simply by dodging or if the caster had poor aim, as with many similar offensive curses, the spell had to be directly targeted at the intended victim.
Should the caster have used the Elder Wand—or actually any wand—without winning its allegiance, to cast the Killing Curse onto its true master, the wand would refuse to kill its master and therefore the curse would backfire onto the caster, thus killing them instead, as when Voldemort’s Killing Curse rebounded on him during his final duel with Harry Potter.

Dear Bonnell.
To a lot of people consuming your content, you come off as a stoic/cold person with a "could not care less" attitude. A lot of the times, this is clear as day.
However with the recent drama with Brittany Simon, I was surprised, and my notion of you and your relationships/interactions with other people have lead me down this rabbithole. There are 3 possibilites that i see. 1. Very neurodivergent/different 2. Being too hedonistic 3. Grifting/intentionally farming
You have stated that you are very good with your relationships. However I do think that you have a big blind spot when it comes to these relationships. You claim that you dont care, something that I would for the most part agree with. If we were friends, and I were to make a joke about a family member of yours, I dont think you would care. Its also clear to me that you dont care emotionally about sex. This was very apparent in one of your recent conversations with Aba, where it came out that you had an issue with cheating. Even on Melina. A question to Destiny viewers: Would you be in an open relationship with your wife/girlfriend? The answer I think, would be an obvious "no!" However to those that were to say yes, or if I had to engage in a relationship like this. Most of us would probably fall in on the same trap as Melina. I would NOT want my wife/girlfriend fuck 5 other dudes, by the time I have had sex with 1 woman. Most of the viewers, would once again agree that either it would be a 1:1, or that the particular viewer would get to fuck as many women as possible while their partner would have sex with less people than them.
My point about this, is that youre not emotionally connected to sex, Destiny. It seems like Melina is more on the "normie" side of engaging with sex. Cheating to me, shows a clear issue in a relationship, where the communication have been lacking. Maybe this is something you two didnt talk about properly beforehand? Im not trying to get into you guys' relationship, Im just trying to paint it clear that your emotional connection to sex is out of the ordinary. Even by poly-standards.
Youre a smart dude Destiny, so when i saw your reaction to Brittany talking ill about you, i was shocked. Yes she was in the wrong. No you didnt do anything wrong. I am once again asking for the viewers expertise here. Did Brittany actually surprise any of you? This is a person talking about being introspective, and have a level system for it. For me, that is just cringe. Not evil, not good. Just cringe. I have some internal thoughts about people talking about being enlightened, open minded, and introspective; that makes me not like it. Why? Because I feel like I'm exactly those 3 things, but I also know that I'm 100% not correct about everything I say, and that I dont find it productive to pretend like I do, even if its how I feel internally. Essentially holding onto my ego, but socially keeping it in check.
What else do we know about Brittany? She has multiple times stated that she is mentally ill , to quote one of the things from this link: " A mental illness can make you miserable and can cause problems in your daily life, such as at school or work or in relationships. In most cases, symptoms can be managed with a combination of medications and talk therapy (psychotherapy)." STRIKE 1
Another thing she has mentioned, is her usage of drugs. STRIKE 2 And lastly, she is an online content creator (money incentive). STRIKE 3 3 Strikes! Youre out!
With these things in mind, its very clear to me that this isnt a person that you can trust 100%, and I believe that the other viewers feel the same.
You (Destiny), have stated multiple times that you are good with relationships, and that you enjoy "crazy" people. That is completely fine. However there are times where those relationships have bit you in the ass. When i say bit you in the ass, i of course just mean "have to deal with annoying stupid shit". Examples are Sneako (talking shit about you and your wife), Mr.Girl (power struggles/trying to fuck you over), Ana (mental problems), Lav (idk... shes kinda weird). My experiences with "crazy" people. I have some friends that have crazy friends. One of these guys, is a particularly violent person. Im friendly towards him, and keep my guard up even more than I usually do. Im careful with what sorts of jokes im making, im careful with getting too close with him (friendship wise), because I know that his temper will get him in trouble; and I dont want that. There are certain types of stress I just want to keep out of my life, some because of possible legal reasons, and some because of annoyance/stress they would put on my life. I am fully aware of my close friends issues, and I'm emotionally prepared if their problems will cascade into bigger problems (whether they get depression, financial struggles, relationship struggles, etc.), and make sure I will not get fucked over by their stupidity. I worked way too hard in my life to get where I am, just for someone else to tear it down.
I obviously have some "interesting"/"crazy" friends, and there is nothing wrong with that! My issue with you (Destiny), is that when you say "I dont care", it seems like that is on a verbal and sexual level. Dont care if your wife fucks other people, as long as you get your dick wet. Dont care if people say mean jokes, as long as you can say your mean jokes. When it comes to a relationships though, you seem to care a lot! Friendships means a lot to you, and you form them very quickly/weirdly. My example of this, is when I was younger, and I fell in love with a girl in my class. Did i know her? No. Did i talk to her? No. She was just a cute girl, and I was a shy boy. As I've grown older, I find any sort of crush on people, who you havent even spoken to, to be childish, naive, and asking for trouble. Even if a woman is hot, I still keep my guard up, and try to scout through all possible red flags before I open myself up and give her my emotional affection/care. How much you care for someone emotionally, should be reserved, and given to the person carefully, whether its a close friend, or a girlfriend, the same rules applies.
Thats why i was surprised by your reaction. You were questioning yourself, almost like if you were insane. You couldnt believe what you were hearing, it seemed so surprising to you, like a dagger in your back! If you opened up a tweet and a KKK member spoke ill about black people, would you be surprised? Or if Sneako talked about the jews? Would that make you emotionally react the same way you did on stream about the Brittany sitation?
You emotionally care to a very high extent, and to a level in which I think most of your viewers would find abnormal, considering the person and the friendship. Was it mean of her? Yes. Was it surprising? About as surprising as if i told you "im going to say the word 'fuck' to you within the next 24 hours". Of course it may actually catch you off guard, but it wasnt really a surprise. This is how I feel about people like Brittany. My own reaction to Brittany and friends like her I didnt care, and wouldnt care. Dont get me wrong, it sucks that a friend would do this, but I wouldnt be getting so loud and flustered about it. I wouldnt even question myself. Id say where she was wrong about her points, i would say that shes acting fucking stupid. Internally, thinking about the friendship; I would most likely think that shes going through something troubling (due to the mental illness), and put the friendship on hold. Once shes snapped out of it, I would want her to get on stream and apologize/explain why she was wrong, and then we could be friends again. But... a friendship with a person like this, is not a friendship that you can be yourself 100%.
Ask yourself if you are 100% yourself around your son Nathan. Of course you are being yourself, but youre also being a parent. You dont let your guard down, and youre not surprised if he does some dumb stuff that children do. A parent and a friend/bestfriend, are two completely different things. You bear SO MUCH responsibility being a parent. Making sure that they eat properly, shower, do social things, are productive, and so on. What about a person with down syndrome? Im obviously not comparing your son to a person with down syndrome, rather im comparing Brittany to one due to her background. Do you feel confident that your friend with down syndrome would be able to be more responsible than you? What if you and your friend with down syndrome had to wake up early, catch a flight, talk to someone about something important, and so on. Would you honestly put trust in the person with down syndrome to take charge and help you through all of this, or would you think that the person with down syndrome is a friend; but that you are the more responsible/mature one? Therefore not being as surprised by their actions/lack of actions.
So lets compare this situation to Mr.Mouton or Dan. Would you feel more confident in giving them the power to wake you up early to catch the flight? To have the conversation with a person about something important? I would. I am way more confident in that Dan, Mouton, or Aba (even if the relationship isnt as close) would understand the responsibility and have the maturity to make sure that things are going smooth, rather than someone with a big mental illness. Of course there are people who have mental illnesses who are functioning just fine, but I believe that Brittany have enough red flags, to NOT take her friendship serious, and NOT keep her as close as i would keep Dan for instance.
Sure. Sometimes you dont want boring Dan to talk about the catpiss he collected on his 2nd floor, but that doesnt make him less of a friend, or worse of a friend. One of the amazing things about men (generalizing) is that we can be friends, not speak for two months, but we can still have a good emotional friendship (no shit talking, no back stabbing, etc.). So if you want to explore some "interesting" or crazy people, that is completely cool! Just remember that your real friends that you should have an emotional connection to, are not necessarily the people that are the most interesting people, or the people you talk to the most often.
Where does this lead us? My point is just that you are giving credance and emotional affection to people who dont deserve/need it. Choose your CLOSE friends wisely, and those friends that arent as close, shouldnt give you an emotional reaction, like Brittany did! Friends are friends, but friends come and go. Close friends are like family, and they are eternal. Thats why it hurts when they stab you in the back. If Dan stabbed you in the back, I would 100% understand the emotional reaction. You have to keep in mind that even though this drama may or may not have been a small burden for your significant othefriends, its not fun for them to hear you go apeshit over "drama" like this. It can be stressful/annoying, and over time, that can tear down your relationships with people who actually care about you!

What about the 3 possibilities...? This is where it gets interesting. The 3 possibilities were 1. Very neurodivergent/different Of course not saying this as an insult, but more so explaining the reality of your friendships. The big emotional reaction? Questioning yourself/your sanity? Talking about it for multiple hours? It was to be expected, or atleast the possibility of it.
If this is the case, then you should really work on the way you say "I dont care" (and with whom you form friendships with). You dont care about sex or insults. However you do care emotionally about friendships, even friendships that are doomed to fail. Is this a hedonistic trait where you choose to get the highest of highs, but also the lowest of lows? Or do you just not understand the social expectations and dynamics with the people you interact with?
2. Being too hedonistic If its not about you being socially unaware, and you say "yes its 100% my hedonistic tendencies" then i dont think that you are "allowed" to get an emotional outburst out of it. Its your stream, so of course you can do whatever you want. My analogy is that youre a stranger on the street, and you want to do a 360 kickflip over something dangerous, I tell you "hey be careful bud" and then you say "i dont care, fuck off" following up with failing the jump, harming yourself, and then screaming in the middle of the street like you just got shot. I understand the pain bro, but you really set yourself up for that. I find it weird that you would start screaming and crying in the middle of street after the failed jump, its not illegal, just a socially and publicly weird thing to do. 3. Grifting/intentionally farming
If im wrong about #1, and also wrong about #2, then this is the last case. You are intentionally overreacting to the drama, and you love it! Its easy content, and easy money! No shame in that BUT! In my opinion, this takes away from the fact that you are "honest" and "my entire life is on the internet!" Youre essentially not being yourself, and playing a persona on stream. Dont get me wrong, I dont expect you to talk to us like you talk to your closest friend/family off stream, but it does give a bad vibe. Example of the vibe I would be getting. Imagine if someone said something racist/homophobic, and i were to really overreact on stream. Going on about it for 3 hours, yelling screaming, but once i go off stream; my friends use all the slurs and i just laugh about it, and I didnt care at all what anyone said. Is that fair? Sure it is. I dont care what anyone says in private, but if you use the slurs excessively in private, then I dont want you to pretend like you have a big issue with it when someone else slips it out in public. Of course this analogy isnt a 1:1, but you get what im saying. It feels very dishonest.

I've only recently begun to take spirituality seriously after a lifetime of hard materialist atheism with a strong aversion to anything that whiffed even slightly of superstition. I was raised Catholic, but I struggled immensely to ever actually believe it before giving up and went on thinking of the world as purely material. This was in spite of experiences I had in my youth that I would otherwise consider mystical or paranormal- my atheist self would eventually write those off as tricks of the mind. As a result, the beginning of my spiritual delve is severely impeded by my extremely suppressed intuition- I struggle to differentiate between "knowing intuitively" and just... thinking? But thinking isn't intuition, but how am I supposed to know what my intuition tells me if it doesn't manifest as thoughts? So I came across the concept of starseeds and in some ways I resonate. I've always felt extremely odd and out of place, at certain points of my life describing myself as feeling like an alien, and I've always had an intense fascination with space. The thing is, I've read on traits of starseeds and resonate with quite a bit of it, but then I have these thoughts that come in pointing out that a lot of the traits listed are... fairly common and overall not that unusual, and furthermore I fail to see how a lot of the traits would indicate that your consciousness is actually of extraterrestrial origin. A lot of it can be summed up as: feeling like a weirdo, having a fascination with space, and having a strong sense of empathy or justice, which to be honest at least to the residual hard atheist part of my mind just isn't an impressive enough list of traits to pull such a wild claim. And yet at the same time, there is something about it that makes some sort of sense to me. Here's the tricky bit; it could be that that part of it that just "makes some sort of sense to me" is my intuition, but the skeptical part of my brain gives me some food for thought; I've been struggling immensely for a while and feel pretty purposeless and lost and have for a while. What if it's just like my ego attaching to something wild because the idea of being an alien on a mission just sounds cool and I have little else going on my life that feels worthwhile? Just something to make me feel special in a world I find so mundane? I mean no disrespect to anyone else and their sincerely held beliefs, but sometimes I worry this spiritual awakening I've been experiencing has just been a prolonged psychotic break induced by stress and meaninglessness, and I'd be hard pressed to think of a therapist worth their salt who wouldn't say I'm schizophrenic if I told them I thought I was a higher dimensional extraterrestrial who incarnated in human form on a mission to save humanity from an evil dystopian future brought on by the lizards (again I'm new to this so that's probably a butchered interpretation of this experience lol feel free to correct this). But at the same time, I have to fight those thoughts because if I let them win, then I'll never find the truth. You can't find the truth by dismissing possibilities out of hand. I don't mean to sound so clinical, but is there like a differential diagnosis or something here? So I have a hunch I may be a starseed, but is there a way to know if I'm NOT one? I fit a lot of the profile, so I think it's easier for me to approach the question in this way because it's sort of a process of elimination (in this case, seeking information that would eliminate the possibility of me not being a starseed) rather than just going off of confirmation bias from info that seems to suggest that I am.

Islamic preachers boast a lot that in Islam, only a husband is responsible for feeding, and the maintenance of his wife. But this right has also been given to a woman by the West, and actually, it gave a bigger share/right to a woman than Islam. In the West, if a husband earns money, then not only he has to feed and give maintenance money to his wife, but if he divorces her, then the whole estate (which was made during their marriage period) will be divided equally between them.
Contrary to the West, Islam gives absolutely NOTHING to a woman, in case her husband divorces her.
Yes, Islamic preachers come here with an EXCUSE, that Islam gives Mahr (Dowry) to a woman at the time of marriage, which she can use if she is divorced. But this excuse is false, while:

According to Islamic logic, Mahr is given to a woman, while a man takes SEXUAL Pleasure (تمتع) from her, and reserves her vagina solely for himself.
While he is free to marry other women and to have TEMPORARY sexual relationships with dozens of slave women. In Islam, a master raped his wife, and after a temporary sexual relationship, when he fulfilled his lust, then he sold her to a 2nd master, who again raped her and then sold her to a 3rd master ...
And she has to provide him with sexual services, whenever he demands it, even if they are travelling on the back of a camel (according to Muhammad).
Thus, Mahr is the payment of those sexual services, which she is obliged to provide to her husband on DEMAND.

And as far as the "Maintenance Money" of a wife is concerned, then again Islam takes away many rights from a woman for this:

She is prohibited to leave the house without the permission of her husband.
She is even prohibited to visit her parents without his permission.
Her husband gets the right to beat her in the name of maintenance money.
She is given maintenance money, while she has to give away her right to go outside, do any job in public, and earn her own money. Only in case, if the husband allows it, then she can do a job. Nevertheless, practically it is from impossible to extremely difficult, while a truly Islamic society put so much pressure upon a woman, then she faces thousands of hurdles in going out and in doing any job.
The truth is if her husband is abusive and tortures her, still she cannot take a divorce on her own. And if her husband divorces her, then practically she cannot survive on her own. She is forced to remarry.
But if she remarries, then Islam takes away all of her children from her (Please read our article: Strange Islam: If a divorced woman remarries, then she will lose the custody of her children).

In simple words:

Slaves are also fed and maintained.
Prisoners in the prisons are also fed and maintained.
And women in Islam are not so much different than slaves and prisoners.

Moreover, Mahr is a GAMBLE. Although Muslims claim that gambling is Haram, but they are unable to see how Islam is compelling every woman and man to play this gamble in their lives.

Nobody knows how long a marriage is going to last. One day or the whole life. It is a gamble for both sides, how much Mahr should be fixed.
If the marriage breaks after 1 month, then the husband is on the losing side, and he has to pay the entire Mahr.
But if the marriage breaks after 20 years, then the wife is on the losing side, while after 20 years she will be old and it will be difficult for her to remarry to get financial support from another man.

The system of Islam is totally “Out of Balance”, while:

All the financial burden is put solely upon the husband.
It does not matter if he is poor, if he becomes ill, or even if he loses his job. This is again a gamble as no one knows if he will become ill or not, or loses his job or not. In all these cases, still it is only the husband, who has to bear the financial burden.

Compared to Islam, the Western system is totally in Balance. If a wife is rich, or she has a stable good earning job, and if she is healthy, then she has to share equal financial responsibilities, so that she becomes a support for her poor husband. Upon bringing this balanced system, Islamic preachers start doing false propaganda that the Western system put a lot of burden upon women but men are free of responsibilities.
Moreover, if a wife goes for a job outside, then the husband is not sitting idly in the house and waiting for her wife to come back so that he can start ordering her. No, but both the husband and the wife work together in the house. Whether it is cooking, or cleaning, or taking care of children etc. Thus, the West put all those responsibilities upon the men too, which is absent in the Islamic system.

Hi, I recently claimed PIP on 28th of February and managed to send off my form via online last Friday 24th March. I sent all evidence and was pretty detailed in the form as well, the assessment company texted me at 8:52pm on Monday 27th to advise me that they have received my form and evidence and will be in contact if they need to do an assessment.
I’ve been lurking this page for a while to help tips and help with filling the form and what I can expect but the only thing I can’t seem to find is the answer to what I’m wondering.
Now the assessment company (Independent assessment services) have my information, how long can I expect to wait to hear if I need an assessment? Or if they’re doing paper based, will I receive a letter or text to say they have done this?
I’m curious as so far it has been an okay process, I have severe hearing loss (with hearing aids), alopecia, vocal chord dysfunction an essential tremor and depression just to add. (This is all showcased in my hospital records that I sent to them as evidence)
I’m in England.

Okay so i was sitting trying to think of a way to combine my name with a friend to make a discord status. Ik cringe but i’m the type to make you cringe in purpose for fun, anyway it then i got interested in name meanings. The means lead me to realize that even tho we don’t believe in magic or anything like that in society, are very superstitious since we think it’s bad to say someone’s name when they absent. Which lead me to thinking about how we have the law of attraction bc we almost always attract the positive or negative energies, and thinking that you’re cursed would be a negative energy magnet. My train of thought continues to how we as human have so much influence on our reality, environment as well as thoughts and emotions. All by our beliefs and thoughts. Random fact my culture believes that we all have the power to talk with the higher power and that we don’t need a priest as a conduit, who probably just drains your energy anyway and be controlled. Anyway back to what i was saying, we as humans have the power to do anything we can set our mind to given if that idea is realistic or not. (ex. i can believe i will become the most famous person, but it won’t instantly happen, vice versa if i believe i can get a girlfriend i put that energy out and attract someone with a similar frequency. The only catch is my belief in my ability to pull, since the universal influence only gives you the chance, it’s up to you to change the your reality.). Think of the last time you got something you wanted, i bet you made a plan or if you’re lucky got gifted. That was you using your energy. Or what about something you didn’t want to happen (Murphy’s law) this is just you attracting the negative energy since your putting out that negativity that’s what comes back too. i hope that made sense bc i’m on adderal and i be typing a lot and having so many thoughts come at me i can’t keep up. But remember everything has a frequency/vibration and we also control our brain which can put out many different frequencies by thinking. Try it out tho, imagine yourself getting/doing something good or positive and then believe it will happen. But you’ll also have to do some work either physically or financially also mentally, since most things don’t move with out a little push…… Also the governments most likely have proof of this or along the lines of what i described of our ability to manifest/attract. So that’s why they have social media platforms and other forms of media. To keep our minds full of garbage so we waste our energy to focus on the benign and mundane things of the world. Our energies and frequencies probably can do a lot if we didn’t focus all our attention on what the next meme, tiktok trend, game, or tech release is. I believe if utilized right you could have a content life if you focused you energies on yourself and not toward a drain. We are capable to be higher beingsall that needs to happen is, we put our energies towards creating and not on consuming what was made to keep us occupied with garbage. if you read this feel free to debate me or share your thoughts. i had fun writing this.
