 | submitted by WaltzQueen to ShadowsHouse [link] [comments] Louise Cosplay Louise was really difficult for such an easy going narcissist. Before we begin, I offer a complaint and a warning. I thought this was easy. I thought I was getting the best end of this deal and it would be an easy side project while I was working on Kate. I was wrong and it was all of my own doing. Never underestimate your projects, reader. Anything with ruffles or pleats requires your utmost attention. Now, let's get into it. There were two versions of Louise. The first was all synthetic materials. The fabric chosen was more goldenrod than the anime but a fair match for the manga's colored pages that I had. It also had a subtle vertical line on it that really drew me in, as it simulated the pinstripes on the manga dress. The under-dress was to be made of chiffon, for a silky twirl in the correct butter yellow. I hate chiffon and the cutting of it so much, Doubly so when it requires pleating and ruffling on the same garment. I could make a lovely under-dress when I put my mind to it, but fuck it if that was also the case when I had to pleat the bust area. It kept moving and when sewn down to hold said pleats it lost the beautiful flow that was its sole redeeming feature. The psuedo-pinstriped fabric also had two glaring flaws;availability and wrinkles. It wrinkled like linen as soon as you put it into a bag or a box or wore it once. Every stitch was a stressful affair additionally, as i couldn't find any more it once i bought what I had. It had been a season fabric and was gone with the wind before i could blink. Lots of mistakes were made in the cutting, as I didn't have a very good idea of how to make what I had work for me while keeping the vertical stripes vertical. Her waist belt was stretchy yellow over a cotton base and covered with fake flowers. No cotton was used for her choker, just stretchy fabric and flowers. "Yellow" as I called her with equal affection and frustration, was becoming a menace of a costume. Second attempt was made a couple months later. This time the pinstriped look was abandoned in favor of a more accurate color and I wanted to keep the only decent work int he whole first attempt: the chiffon underskirt. That meant for a color match, the same chiffon would have to be included. In order to get pleats I layered chiffon on top of a closely matching cotton and treated them as one fabric. The results aren't perfect but far better than straight chiffon. The belt was traded out for more the stretchy yellow fabric, to keep the cinching localized to the front and not all the way around. More flowers were added for a denser belt coverage. Did you know curly black wigs are hard to find outside of costume shops when you're not ordering online? It's True! I ended up pulling this little lady out of storage. She's not quite long enough but she's what I have and very close. Same story for the shows. It's nice to have preexisting items. They solve problems. The wig and shoes probably saved me fifty bucks together. Then came the petticoat. Despite being a lolita for a while, now, I don't have any petticoats of the right size or shape for her, so I had to go buy petticoat netting and sew a cone of it directly to her underskirt. A disastrous little party girl making things harder than they needed to be, each step of the way. MONEY Take 1
The mask system I used for Kate doesn't work as well with no curtain of hair to hide the loose ends in and the choker leaves you wanting a more defined chin. Meaning i might have to grab another pair of stockings and do this "pantyhose robber mask style". I also don't have quite the defined waist like Louise does, So, a tuck and stitch of fabric in key places might be in order. Or perhaps a bit of corsetry can come to the rescue? 📷📷 This is one of those projects that bloomed like an algae growth, due to corner cutting and inexperience double teaming me. What I learned: Chiffon is still difficult! Don't pleat things that aren't stiff. Check that things won't wrinkle before you invest too heavily. Sometimes accuracy is not achievable. Buenas! Hace semanas publiqué acá por primera vez. Soy la piba que estudió música y sonido, que no estaba consiguiendo trabajo y no tenía entusiasmo por seguir con la docencia. (Por si alguien le interesa, estoy hablando de este post)
Todo lo que me escribieron me sirvió de mucho para pensar hacia donde quiero ir. Sigo en la misma de mandar mi CV 24/7 y sigo sin suerte; así que en estas últimas horas tomé la decisión de ponerme a estudiar para un área que (desde afuera y sin saber nada, ni tener gente conocida en el tema) me interesa; además, es un área donde veo que hay muchas posibilidades.
Tengo ganas de aprender todo lo relacionado a "ecommerce" pero no sé por dónde empezar.
Como había dicho en la publicación anterior, desde la pandemia hice muchos cursos de "saber venderse como artista en redes sociales" y esa onda. Todo eso me re sirvió para la cuenta de instagram donde ofrezco mis talleres de música y canto. A decir verdad, me interesa mucho todo el tema de "saber vender" (no solo para mi arte y mis servicios, claramente); también me interesa mucho "conocer la experiencia del usuario con lo que se le está vendiendo/conseguir y mantener clientes/analizar a la competencia para saber que hacer" etc.
Tengo la decisión tomada de ir por ese lado pero no sé cómo empezar. Viendo lo que piden las búsquedas, sé que obviamente tengo que tener conocimientos en MeLi/Mercado Shops/Tiendas online varias y Wordpress. Acá surgen mis primeras preguntas:
P.D.: En paralelo a esto, también estoy pensando en comenzar un emprendimiento a corto plazo (de artesanías hechas con resina, está bastante de moda por lo que veo en Instagram). Si bien no tengo experiencia emprendiendo, tengo mucha experiencia trabajando "por mi cuenta" y sé lo que es que mis ingresos dependan de mi. Me gusta la idea de emprender y según mi parecer, empezar en simultáneo a aprender sobre "ecommerce" y este emprendimiento podría dar buenos resultados, ya que podría aplicar lo aprendido y aprender más "a prueba y error". Todo lo que me escribieron me sirvió de mucho para pensar hacia donde quiero ir. Sigo en la misma de mandar mi CV 24/7 y sigo sin suerte; así que en estas últimas horas tomé la decisión de ponerme a estudiar para un área que (desde afuera y sin saber nada, ni tener gente conocida en el tema) me interesa; además, es un área donde veo que hay muchas posibilidades.
Tengo ganas de aprender todo lo relacionado a "ecommerce" pero no sé por dónde empezar.
Como había dicho en la publicación anterior, desde la pandemia hice muchos cursos de "saber venderse como artista en redes sociales" y esa onda. Todo eso me re sirvió para la cuenta de instagram donde ofrezco mis talleres de música y canto. A decir verdad, me interesa mucho todo el tema de "saber vender" (no solo para mi arte y mis servicios, claramente); también me interesa mucho "conocer la experiencia del usuario con lo que se le está vendiendo/conseguir y mantener clientes/analizar a la competencia para saber que hacer" etc.
Tengo la decisión tomada de ir por ese lado pero no sé cómo empezar. Viendo lo que piden las búsquedas, sé que obviamente tengo que tener conocimientos en MeLi/Mercado Shops/Tiendas online varias y Wordpress. Acá surgen mis primeras preguntas:
- ¿Por cuál empiezo?
- Más allá de conocer la interfaz y el mecanismo que ofrece cada una de estas plataformas ¿Dónde empiezo a estudiar "la teoría" para vender? Me vendría bárbaro si alguien tiene cursos para recomendarme por donde iniciar. (Estuve viendo que ofrecen en EducaciónIT y en Coderhouse, pero no quiero comprar nada sin tener una recomendación previa)
- Sé que va a haber gente que quiera recomendarme anotarme en una carrera en negocios/marketing/ventas/empresas, pero por el momento necesito resolver mi situación rápido y a la vez ver si me gusta, así que prefiero cursos cortos por ahora.
P.D.: En paralelo a esto, también estoy pensando en comenzar un emprendimiento a corto plazo (de artesanías hechas con resina, está bastante de moda por lo que veo en Instagram). Si bien no tengo experiencia emprendiendo, tengo mucha experiencia trabajando "por mi cuenta" y sé lo que es que mis ingresos dependan de mi. Me gusta la idea de emprender y según mi parecer, empezar en simultáneo a aprender sobre "ecommerce" y este emprendimiento podría dar buenos resultados, ya que podría aplicar lo aprendido y aprender más "a prueba y error". Aunque también tengo algunas dudas, empezando por:
- Como no sé bien por dónde empezar a estudiar, no sé si tengo presupuesto para emprender y estudiar a la vez. Si estuvieran en mi lugar y tuvieran que elegir solo una de las dos ¿Cuál eligen y por qué?

Hello hello! I've been feeling down lately and what better way to cheer me up than to try to find some individuals that share my plight! I'm looking for people who are kind, caring, considerate, understanding, and positive (pssst I have these traits too!). I want to be able to have deep and meaningful conversations over small talk and constantly asking back and forth questions. I don't mind asking questions here and there but I feel like friendships online work best when both people don't try to force the conversation by constantly trying to have ice breakers, constantly trying to subject change, or ask what we should talk about. I'm down to even talk about random stuff too! I like conversations where we both just speak our mind and don't hold back! I'm also someone who likes helping others when they're feeling down and am more than happy to listen to you vent or give you advice. However don't take this as coming into my DMs immediately to emotionally dump on me as we don't know each other at all and need to build some good rapport before diving into personal matters.
So some important things to note about me: I'm an Infj (or isfj can never remember) personality type, who is also a cancer in astrology, and an HSP. If you don't know what these things are look them up! There's actual subreddits for this stuff. While it would be nice to meet fellow personality type lovers and hsps it's not at all required. But what IS required is that we both have similar schedules. I'm quite tired of people hitting me up who knows they cannot provide as much chatting as I would like. Now I'm not saying you need to sell your soul or anything like that. I'm pretty available throughout my days and nights so I mostly want to meet people who also don't mind chatting consistently and are fellow night owls! It would also be nice to find some people who like sending and receiving long messages as much as I do. I always have a lot to say and always feel like I'm saying more than the other person. And it almost always feels like the other person isn't really reading what I'm saying but skimming and selectively picking and choosing what they want to respond to which sucks immensely. Do I really look like a multiple choice test to you?
Anyway I'm going to mention a few things I like! I love nature, stuffed animals, taking nature pictures, going for walks, going for long car rides (especially at night), listening to music, gaming, reading comics/manga/fiction, online and irl shopping, thrifting, going to milk tea shops, going to arcades, playing pool, playing tabletop, and much more! Now, I'm not looking for a gaming buddy (unless you are open to playing this lesser known battle royal I have!). Please don't message me if you only want to play that with me as I'm trying to find friends that want to do a plethora of things with me! I'd also like it if you were open to listening to Spotify with me as opposed to sharing playlists. I'm open to voice chatting but not right away and this isn't something I solely want to do. Avoid Brilliant Earth and their scam return policies. I was recently shopping for a wedding band and a friend recommended checking out Brilliant Earth. After seeing several possible options, I went to their returns page to understand if I could return them for a refund because I was buying it online unseen. Here is the first line of the page - “At Brilliant Earth, we offer complimentary 30 day returns, so that you can make sure your purchase is just right. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, simply return it within 30 days for an exchange or full refund”. Well this is a big fat lie. After receiving the bands, I did not like any of them and wanted a refund. I’ve since called them multiple times and they continue to give me the run around claiming I can only return one ring. This is not stated anywhere in their return page. Now I’m stuck with $3k worth of ugly wedding bands. Not worth the headache.

However, some games have both, and that usually includes the longest-lived and most-successful ones. Sega's ten-year-on Phantasy Star Online 2 is free-to-play, but has extensive cash purchases and also has a "premium" subscription available. In Final Fantasy XIV and the venerable World of Warcraft, the subscription fee is still required despite the presence of a cash shop.

Grand Theft Auto Online has a lot of similarities to what we usually think of as qualities of "MMO" games. While it isn't "massively multiplayer" on a local scale—sessions normally include a maximum of 32 players—there are tens of thousands of players online at any given moment. It has named player characters with persistent progress and all of the other things we think of from MMO games: equipment, appearance customization, player housing, difficult multiplayer "raid" events, and so on.
With that context in mind, it probably shouldn't be a surprise that Rockstar is launching a subscription service for GTA Online. It's called GTA+, and it costs $6 a month. Ponying up for the premium subscription earns you a cool $500,000 in the in-game GTA$ currency every month and extra GTA$ on "Shark Cards," as well as exclusive benefits. Here's the list of benefits for the first month: The Principe Deveste Eight — along with a complimentary Hao’s Special Works upgrade for it before it is made available to purchase by the general public — plus the HSW Orange Trip and HSW CMYK Glitch Liveries. The Auto Shop located in La Mesa, introduces an assortment of gameplay updates from Los Santos Tuners. Current Auto Shop owners can relocate to La Mesa at no additional cost. Waived LS Car Meet Membership fees. Current LS Car Meet members with GTA+ will be reimbursed GTA$50,000 during this event period. Yacht owners can upgrade to the Aquarius Super Yacht at no additional cost. The Gussét Frog Tee and Broker Prolaps Basketball Top and Shorts automatically added to your wardrobe. The Conveyor Livery for the Mammoth Avenger, HVY APC, and TM-02 Khanjali. A selection of free paints and emblems for the Auto Shop. 3X GTA$ and RP on Hao’s Special Works Race Series. 2X Car Meet Rep on the Street Race Series. It would be easy to criticize Rockstar for this move because the company has already taken $60 of your money for the game. In the interest of fairness, though, we'll note that many players who bought GTA V (including GTA Online) purchased it nearly a decade ago.
