2023.03.29 10:13 GarlyleWilds Datamined Unit Impressions: April 2023
There's no Datamine megathread, even like four hours after the datamine (EDIT: but naturally like ten minutes after I posted this), so fine, separate thread it is! Admittedly, I have not actually been logging into the game the last few days. But my limited interest in the daily in and out of the game doesn't stop my interest in its development and its new characters, and I know lots of people like having this analysis.
As usual, I may misread information, as it's well past midnight, so please let me know of any mistakes so I can correct them. Also also, any time it comes to exact damage numbers, I'm clueless - other people handle that math, so while I might be able to give a good 'sense' of them, don't expect full accuracy. Consider this an introduction, not a perfect analysis.
Steven (Special Costume) & Stoutland (Shiny)
Cheren's Replacement is a
Normal Tech. He is like a better Classic Red, designed around helping a single ally shine. His opening Tackle in battle will inflict a
Variable Rebuff 1 based on the target's weakness, and gives the party status immunity for good measure. He then has a few tools: Super Effective Up for an ally is welcome by lots of units (though more can give themselves it these days, it is a sync multiplier!). His other TM adds Spd +2 and Phys Next Up
3 to an ally for non-sync turns. And he can also use B Leer 3 times, as long as a rebuffed target is around; this inflicts AoE PAtk, PDef, and Spd -2, as well as Restrain and Can't Dodge. And for good measure if he tackles a unit who can't dodge, he can buff party speed, because sure. Why not. Steven might not have the big fat numbers people usually associate with modern techs, but he is going to be a super welcome ally any time you want to make another unit's numbers get fat, especially if they're physical, and is easily the star unit this month.
Wanna go all in?
2/5 adds a 50% confusion to Tackle, MP Refresh for his super useful TMs, sandstorm support (sure, why not), Auto Party Speed +1, and help with gauge generation and chances of self PDef/SDef buffing when tackling; the MP refreshes are definitely the focus here.
3/5 ups his TM to Phys Next
+4, gives Adrenaline 2 (give him another through Lucky Skills to shave an entire cycle!), lets his own sync give stuff like free move next and MP refreshes, a sync damage bonus against restrained foes (this won't make it nearly as good as you expect from techs though), and adds flinch and accuracy debuffs to tackle when hitting units after B Leer. Honestly you could absolutely just leave Steven at 1/5 and be perfectly fine, but the extra sync cycle skip at 3/5 and further damage buffs
are going to be super welcome for a lot of people.
Shauna (Special Costume) & Klefki
Steel Support. Brings the always welcome Potions, and a TM that gives party Status Move Defense and Debuff Defense, as well as party Crit +2; both of these also give herself PDef and SDef +1. She then fills the time with Mirror Shot or, more likely, the 1-gauge Tackle. But every time she uses an attacking move, she inflicts a random stat -1 to the target to give a +1 to the entire party for it. Oh, and this random stat steal occurs every time she's hit, too, though that stolen buff only goes to her. And that's... the whole of it. This over time stat stealing is absolutely focused towards longer form fights like Legendary Arenas, where it will have lots of time to be really powerful; not sure she'll be all that useful for champion stadiums at base though.
2/5 adds the usual potion nodes, upgrades Mirror Shot to a 60% accuracy debuff, gives auto regen and party PAtk/SAtk +1 options, and adds a 50% chance of Trap on hits to add some free chip damage.
3/5 fills out those Potion nodes, adds Reflect to her TM, gives auto-Endure, adds a party All Stats +1 after her first sync, and doubles down on her stat stealing - both on defense and on offense (though the extra offensive steal is only 50%). All those extra tools definitely will help her party out if you're trying to use her in faster settings, so she'll probably feel like she 'needs' it a little more than most limited supports.
Zinnia (Special Costume) & Thievul
Dark Tech. She has X Attack All and a 2-use TM that gives Debuff Immunity temporarily, as well as Eva +1 and Crit +2. I started by mentioning those because her first TM use in battle, whichever you choose, also inflicts
Dark Rebuff 1 on all foes. Then she has Crunch, but also a 1-use B Night Slash (just requires something to be dark rebuffed to use), which is a high damage attack that always hits, is guaranteed crit, steals enemy stat buffs, and temporarily inflicts
a new effect, No Stat Increase to the enemy field, preventing them from benefiting from TMs. Her sync multiplier is based off her own buffs, while a passive also gives her Free Move Next when hitting unbuffed foes. A natural Vigilance rounds it out. One of many 'mess up the enemy buffs' units, but in a new way that will make her a welcome ally to anyone trying to maximize the damage of, say, Lear or SS Korrina's Sync, and timing that B Night Slash well might really trivialize some fights actually. Not a must have, but a neat one.
Take her to
2/5 and her TM also gives her a random stat buff, Crunch becomes a 60% PDef debuff, and she can get some small buffs like Eva +3 and Supereffective Next Up when dropped to critical, or after her first sync. As you expect from a tech,
3/5 is big stuff. Crunch gets an entire extra PDef drop, then she gets move buffs for lowered PDef and opponents having no boosted stats, and fat sync multipliers for her own buffs and enemy missing debuffs, much like what makes Lear's sync number huge. There's also some other small boons like a 70% chance to flinch when the target is unbuffed and Extension for the No Stat Increases effect, so she's more likely to be able to take advantage of all these things. As is tradition for a tech, her utility is at 1/5, and her damage mode is locked behind 3/5.
Lyra (Special Costume) & Phanpy
Not what I expected out of this event.
Ground Support with pretty fat natural defenses. Her personal TM is party PAtk +1, PDef +3, and gives her the same type resistance effect as Thorton, which
is a good effect for a tank, Thorton's just not a great unit so it's not made much of a mark up to this point. She also packs Mini Potion All to help the party, so she'll be great for surviving physical fights. Beyond that, she has 1-gauge Mud Shot to debuff accuracy, or Earthquake for AoE to proc her other special advantage -
Ground Rebuff 1 on her first hit on targets in combat. She also buffs the party's PAtk by 1 whenever she's hit, and when she uses her first sync in battle gives the party a Phys Moves +1. All around a very solid anti-phys support or general ground amplifier, especially if you're not keen on sandstorm or don't have Excadrill.
Wanna give her duplicates?
2/5 adds Speed debuffs to Earthquake, Potion MP refreshing, some Sandstorm buffs (she's naturally able to get immunity), and Sterner Stuff 2 to reduce damage further when hit physically, as well as a 30% chance of free move when hit.
3/5 adds master healer and more MP refresh to mini potion, boosts her TM to +2 PAtk, and gives natural access to Vigilance, as well as First Aid 4, party crit buffing when using a move, auto party SDef +2, and Protect after using her sync. Overall both of her upgrades add a good chunk, with 3/5 making her able to buff a wider variety of stats; nothing mandatory but nothing most players would turn down either.
Lorelei (Variety) & Cloyster
I'mma be real: Variety scouts could just be Spotlights and it would be
better for the game. Anyway,
Ice Support, a pretty rare type. Her 1 use TM is party PDef +4, Crit +2, and Endure; then she also brings X Attack All, Protect, and a 2-gauge filler. That filler is pretty strong for a support due to a guaranteed 5-hit Icicle Spear, but it's still support offensive stats - the kicker is that each individual hit has a 50% chance of generating a move gauge refresh and a 30% chance of self healing. She does have the physical bulk for that to matter too... but it's not exactly a stellar kit, is it, especially without maxing any of those stats she buffs either.
Duplicates do help.
2/5 gives her TM a refresh that makes it much better, lets X Attack All buff her speed a bit, and interestingly adds a 20% chance per hit speed debuff to Icicle Spear, as well as a bit of Hailstorm assistance (immunity is at 1/5) and an automatic Reflect when she hits low HP.
3/5 lets X Attack All buff PDef if you don't want to rely on the MP refresh, adds innate Vigilance, plus First Aid 4 and Auto Regen for much more bulk. It also further adds 20% PDef debuff chance to each hit of Icicle Spear, and lets her Sync partly heal the party and give Phys Next Up 1 after its first use. All these upgrades do make her a more interesting support with a more complete kit; but while I won't say she
needs 3/5, it sure feels like she will to be worth paying attention to.
Bruno (Variety) & Onix
Rock Support feels pretty rare. He brings the always welcome Dire Hit All +, and a 1-use TM (though with MP refresh at 1/5) with party PAtk +2, PDef +6, and Phys Next Up 1. This is backed up with Screech for -2 PDef filler, or Rock Throw if you need just 1 gauge. This is rounded out with Auto-Endure, party Speed buffs whenever hit, and extra damage reduction against physical moves. And... yep. That's it. There's nothing wrong with this kit, but even as nice as defensive buffers with debuffs are (hi BP Clemont)... well, let's say that this kind of unit being
limited is part of why I'm falling out of love with the game.
But if you're a mega fan of Bruno's muscles, does it get better with dupes?
2/5 adds Speed buffing on the TM and at battle start, extra defense against electric attacks, and usual support 2/5 stuff like Quick Cure.
3/5 adds party PAtk buffs to Rock Throw, guaranteed 2 gauge refill on Screech so it's basically free, party Regen on the TM, a 30% chance to retain Endure, and Protect and Party Phys Next Up 1 after sync. ....so, uh, no, it doesn't really get that much better with dupes. Again, I'll stress - still a useable unit, but this is the least impressed I've been with a unit in a long time. At least Lorelei does interesting things with Icicle Spear.
Steven (Lodge) & Cradily
Everyone knew it would happen eventually.
Rock Tech, and our second Stealth Rock unit - though frankly anyone who has used Bertha knows how unimpressive that is; he does get Accel the first time he does it, and his sync is keyed off it being active, but that's still not much better. His TM is self SAtk +2, SDef +2, and self Endure, which isn't bad. He has Ancient Power, but also Acid, which thanks to a passive is a 1-gauge move with 50% SDef debuffing, which isn't the worst either. Natural extra defense against water also rounds out the kit. Fill out his grid and you can add some other buffs to Stealth Rock (self Crit Next and Supereffective Next help a sync a lot actually alongside a sync multiplier for some solid numbers), and more SpAtk buffing to his TM. You can make Ancient Power a
90% self omnibuff, which is kinda cool too I guess, as well as gaining a 30% flinch on whichever attack you'd rather, and some general move damage ups that probably won't save his low base power. Again, everyone who has tried using Bertha knows how mediocre Stealth Rock is, but he has a fairly spicy nuke capability and the Ancient Power gimmick is cute, even if he can't leverage most of those stats. Not a unit you'll chase the original Steven for though.
Buffs To Old Units
- Caitlin & Reuniclus will be receiving the traditional Masters Day 5* unit buff. 1/5 gains completely free SpAtk and Speed buffs. 2/5 adds Crit +2 to her TM, and a move damage boost based on SpAtk buffs. Finally, 3/5 adds Sync Power Flux for a multiplier, and Free Move Next every time she lands a supereffective Move, which will help a lot with her low speed. Is this gonna be transformative? I doubt it... but it's also sure nothing she'll turn down; pretty much any attacker would want to have that. She's still kinda gotta struggle against the fact Giovanni exists though.
- Steven & Metagross get their Pokefair rerun expansion. 2/5 adds flinch immunity, but also Tough Sync 3 for some extra punch. 4/5 adds the relatively useless Protect After First Sync, but does also add an AoE PDef -2 after using his sync, which isn't too bad but is nothing super urgent. 5/5 adds Vigilance (still at 10 energy cost), or a guaranteed flinch on your Bullet Punches. Unlike some of the more recent 5/5 expansions, this is relatively chill and not a 'must have' to make the unit succeed. The damage boost is down at 2/5, the extra stuff is just some extra icing options.
And that's... mostly it?
Or it would be, but EXes just got added to a ton of units. Note that minus the first one we'll cover, all these units don't have new outfits - but they do have access to the buff of becoming an EX.
- Roxanne & Probopass will get their EX (with outfit!) on Masters Day. Roxanne's already one of the better F2P supports; she'll absolutely love the extra tanking stats from going to 6* though and the boosted sync buff from Supports is always welcome.
- Bugsy & Scyther need a goddamn rerun already, but hey, he gets his EX! His phys-assisting kit might be aging, but a support EX helps him achieve his goal quite a bit!
- All 4-star BP Units are getting their EXes. Of note, the Supports obviously are super welcome, because Support EX is always solid. The others? Ehhh. Erika is a toxic stall unit, where sync damage doesn't matter much to start with. Then, the others - Zinnia, Candice, and especially Karen - don't have excellent syncs to begin with. You could make a case for Sophocles though; his sync is actually alright and adding AoE makes it much easier for him to finish a fight before recoil takes him out.
- All Lodge Units will also be receiving their EXes. Again, the Supports obviously love this. However, many of the Lodge attackers also have acceptable syncs to begin with - Silver, Rose, N, Marnie, and especially Serena have syncs that already break the 2m raw damage threshold, and sure wouldn't mind getting stronger. The rest aren't that impressive, sadly.
- Finally, The Eeveelution Trio (Lucas & Flareon, Kris & Jolteon, and Lyra & Vaporeon) from the first Variety Scout are also getting their EXes. I know not many pulled for these units, which fair - but anyone who grabbed any of these and raised them to 3/5 probably knows that they actually had some very high damage syncs even without an EX. And I mean that - Flareon actually has the third strongest Fire sync, and this should easily move him to second place, only behind the insane SS May. If you invested into these units, go the extra mile for the EX and watch them soar.

2023.03.29 09:22 logicloop Travis a bit off about radiation..
In the episode where he pulls the lid off what appears to be an old abandoned septic tank from homestead 2, his dosemeter says he got hit with about 120 mrad (1.2 mGy). That doesn't even factor the 'absorbed' dose.
Then goes on to say that's like getting 20,000 full body xray scans at an airport. Even taking into account the time this was filmed, a full body xray at an aiprot on average releases about 0.1 mGy so to get 1.2 that would be 12 scans, not 20,000.
20,000 xrays at 0.1 mGy per scan would be about 2,000 mGy. At that scale, your survival time would be measured in days to weeks, not months to years. He wouldn't have made it to his first convention at best without looking like the Fly, or at worst an open casket.
Sorry for the rant, that just bugged me. But this show still very much has my interest and curiosity as to what's going on out there. I definitely suspect something geological, likely naturally occuring but just very unique to that area. Though past USGS studies of the region around the ranch have shown nothing really. Barring conspiracy theories if there was something, I doubt it's contained to the property line as deposits like that would likely extend far beyond.

2023.03.29 09:08 VirotroniX First Aid Kit attachment
So I got a first aid kit for my motorcycle (BMW F 650 GS Twin) and I'm wondering, how you attached your kits on your bike!
I've got a small section under the seat, but my kit doesn't fit, the tank bag is too tiny and my topcase needs a seperate key to open it (so rather unpractical)!
(I don't want to discuss, if motorcycle first aid kits are useful, my girlfriend forces me to have it! lol)

2023.03.29 06:38 IndividualTree9214 Brine Shrimp Varieties
Hey all!
I'm new here, but I've spent some time trying to find information on the different brine shrimp that you can get online. Has anyone successfully made a tank with brine shrimp eggs that weren't official Sea Monkeys or Aqua Dragons? If so, how long has the tank been going for (or how long did it go for), and where did you get them from?
I got a kit of Aqua Dragons for my birthday recently and once I have things in my room organized better I will hopefully get a colony going! At some point I'd like to transfer them to a larger tank that can be decorated a bit more. (By decorate I mean sand and some smooth objects that won't bleed chemicals into the water.)
Thank you!

2023.03.29 05:42 No_Butterscotch_26 Mindless Meanderings of a Fool
Because JJ is taking some much needed time off reviewing and providing his insights into COI, I thought I would provide something in the meantime. I would not call it filling in for JJ, as I am hardly at his level. I’m more like the unofficial side show for this week- providing (hopefully) some humor to help you come to grips with the shit that was spewed by Rick and the gang this week. While I have not had any Skyrizi cocktails, I do randomly call 1-800 numbers and ask them to check my ZIP code. Maybe that qualifies me for this role? I don’t know. But let’s get on with the pain.
We start off this week at the Garden Shaft. Which is this season’s location of the money pit. Craig and Scott are talking to one of the Dumas workers about their progress. They’re at 67 feet and probing for a gold spot along the way. Typical men, working in a new hole and not knowing where the g-spot is at. Clotworthy spews some junk about how significant the garden shaft is because of material dating back 60 years before the discovery of the money pit, and how the garden shaft is located in the “Treasure Zone”, which I’m guessing is the forthcoming name of the Oak Island theme park. Scott says something, but I wasn’t paying attention. Then again, he never says anything important, anyway. So, who cares. Dude has more speaking roles this season than our beloved Billy. Side note: I do find it funny that we’re supposedly in the original money pit, and there’s no talk or concern about the flood tunnels. You know, the fucking tunnels we wasted seasons looking for? Throwing dye into them… Building a fucking damn in the cove. Of course, the flood tunnel theories fell flat. But they won’t acknowledge that, or fess up that maybe all these theories are total bull. Instead, they’ll conveniently mention nothing of it and toss more shit into the frey to keep you off balanced. And, hope you’re more concerned about your moderate to severe plaque psoriasis to notice.
Our next scene is at the quadrilateral. For those of you who don’t know, this is Prometheus’ latest tangent to fill needless episodes. Supposedly, it was mentioned in Dead Nolan’s book, which the Alive Nolan decided to reveal for the first fucking time on the previous episode (I’m sure the book will be published soon, with a forward by Rick. Another book for the kooks to cite and come up with new BS theories to waste our time for the next 5 seasons, at least). Rick, Tom Nolan, “and the rest” as Clotworthy put it (Billy and Gary), are at the Quadrilateral. And thankfully, we are about to get some Billy excavating time. It’s mentioned how the quadrilateral has a mysterious group of boulders on it. I don’t know what’s so mesmerizing about the boulders. And the quadrilateral looks like the state of Nevada, which has a ton of boulders. So, I’m not impressed here. As the digging starts, they uncover “little sticks” which are cut and burnt. This leads to our first wild speculation of the week. Because these little burnt sticks are similar to the ones found under the stone pathway by the swamp, instantly this means that the quadrilateral is made by the people who made the stone pathway. We’re then shown flashbacks to when the crew took a pointless trip to Portugal to look at a stone road. And told once again how the two are so similar and there must be a Portuguese connection to them. They keep digging and Billy notices some clay. Some blue clay. And blue clay was found when they were fucking around in the money pit area and swamp a few seasons ago. We’re then led into our first commercial break. And thank god, because I need slam my head into the desk a few times. It’s bad enough watching this show. Having to then write about it? Fuck me. I’m only doing this one week.
OK. I’m a little dizzy, but we return to the quadrilateral. We got serious Clotworthy bs time. Blue clay in the money pit, swamp, and now in the quadrilateral! So obviously, it’s all connected. That’s now an Oak Island fact. They bring in the Geologist turd guy for 10 seconds to add some sort of authority to this BS claim. But, I’m over this guy. No geologist would let them get away with saying that limestone cavities underground have to be manmade. Fuck off, Rocks for Jocks dude. After he’s pushed to the side, we then get the other quack scientist, Dr. Spooner. I used to like this guy initially. He seemed grounded. Stayed in his lane. But between his water testing, and even dating a fucking nail, this dude is just another sellout on the show who’ll say anything to keep Prometheus happy. He analyzes the clay and finds some more burnt wood. He surmises it cannot be natural. Rick jumps in to say that because there were boulders, it means this is obviously a “safe” and there is something significant below. Of course, he doesn’t want to dig. He wants to wait for Tom Nolan and do more investigating. I’m going to go off on a tangent here, but…
I swear, Rick maybe the entire fucking problem with this crew. Let’s not forget folks, he was a postman, aka, GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE. In other words, he gets nothing done but spends a lot of someone else’s money. It was natural he would end up conning his brother into spending money on this disaster. This show has been on for 10 years. And all they had to do was a dig a big damn hole and see if there’s anything in the ground. Now, if I was given a job of digging a big damn hole, and my boss came up to me 10 years later to ask about the progress, I sure as hell wouldn’t go: “Well, we started digging in the money pit like you asked. But then we wanted to do some sonaradalidar detection and analyze the fuck out of it for inferences to treasure. After that, a few random ass guys with history degrees from Fuck You University came to the island and told us we should dig in other spots. They thought the treasure was [Templar, English, Aztec, French, Portuguese, Pirates, Phoenician, Egyptian, Martian]. So we did that. Found nothing. Then, we drained the swamp near the money pit 3 or 4 times, spent millions on dynamite to scare all the birds away, all to try and get more inferences on what lies below the ground. We also fucked around looking for a dock, and found a stone road. In terms of digging in the money pit area, we drilled tiny fucking holes all over it. Enough to turn it into Swiss cheese. We thought a few times we ‘just came down the edge’ of something. But, instead of just moving a few inches over and drilling again, we went to a new spot, chosen at random and still found nothing. Oh, and we took a shit load of trips to Europe. Just to look at some old castles and carvings, none of which has anything to do with the drilling job.” No, I wouldn’t. I’d have been fucking fired years earlier. But that’s COI. Making the US bureaucracy seem efficient.
Ahem, so after we leave the quadrilateral, “later that afternoon” we go to the war room. I’m excited. Because it’s a meeting time, and we have this week’s tinfoil kook! This week, we have Francisco Nogueira from Portugal. I’m getting giddy and tingly. Not because of any revelations or theories that are going to solve the mystery, but we’re guaranteed some extreme fucking head nodding action. Let’s see what Francisco says. I should not that he speaks perfect English, but gets subtitled (yet, I still barely understand Gary). We’re told that the Azores is a key place for north Atlantic explorers. And then we get into some Templars, Baby B-roll. Clotworthy tells us the Templars went to Portugal, rebranded, and then took their treasure to North America. Makes sense to me! Francisco, who honestly sounds like a hostage reading the terrorists demands after 4 weeks of torture (definitely not from starvation, though) says the Portuguese Knights of Christ were exploring in the 15th and 16th centuries. Were shown some nodding and smiling from Simple Jack and Alex. Our Kook then says the “mysterious” wall is of Portuguese style. I don’t know what specific style he’s talking about. It’s a bunch of fucking rocks stacked on top of one another. I’m sure more civilizations other than the Portuguese knew how to stack rocks on top of each other. However, the revelation is enough to get Simple Jack to exclaim, “No way!” He’s got to be feeling good. After all, it was his detective work that found a big ass fucking tree next to the wall a few weeks ago. Francisco continues. Apparently, only the Portuguese would fill in gaps of a wall with small rocks. I guess this implies that Spain and France were the first to create glory holes. We get more dramatic nodding and amazement. It seems we’re going all in on Portugal now. Fuck off, Duc d'Anville, Francis Beacon, Sinclair, and Long John Silver (I don’t know. I’m sure he’ll get some mention soon). We’ll bring you all back in a few seasons when this shit falls apart and they find nothing. The revelation was enough to cue the dramatic music and a commercial break. Good. I don’t drink alcohol, but I’m going to go look for some cooking sherry or something to help me through this. If not, maybe I’ll inhale some Pam. If anything, it’ll help with this dry nose thing I have going on. I’ll turn the TV up so I can hear if there are any prescriptions I can ask my doctor about.
I found some ice cream and ate myself into an ice cream headache. But it kind of helped with the pain from banging my head int the desk earlier. We return to the war room with our chubby Portuguese kook. I guess his revelations were too much to conclude in one segment. Naturally, we get a recap of what we just heard 4 minutes ago. Because obviously everyone that watches this show has the attention span of a cat who snorted 8 lines of catnip. We’re now told that the Portuguese came to Oak Island, in secret. We get a few seconds of legitimate history regarding King Phillip II of Spain putting the hurt on Portugal. But then we quickly get into bs about missing treasure. And obviously, Portuguese went across the world and dumped it on Oak Island. Long story short, the Knights of Christ decided to put their precious treasure on a boat, sail across the Atlantic, and bury it on an island they never went to before. Dougie jumps in to give us some NSCC-level education about Templars. Never trust a Doug. Finally, Rick gives us one of his garbage corporate meeting wrap ups. And we’ve officially wasted about 10 minutes of show on this garble.
Later that afternoon (this is one fucking long day), we’re back at the quadrilateral. Rick has brought back more people. Spooner once again says the clay shouldn’t be here. And the clay and boulders were transported here. Personally, I think they found Samuel Ball’s septic tank. That’s my guess. Spooner pokes around and conveniently finds something sticking out of one of the sides of the hole. I don’t see Barkhouse, so I’ll assume whatever it is, he planted it like most other shit found on the island. It’s too much for us to comprehend, so another fucking commercial break is in order.
After several more commercials about plaque psoriasis plaguing this nation, we return to the big find. It’s a rusted piece of metal, shaped like a U. Gary claims it’s an iron staple. But this fuck has been wrong a few times this season. I’m guessing we’ll get some Carmen time soon. They keep digging.
The “following morning” we briefly see Scott and Dumbasses still looking for the Garden Shaft’s g-spot. Then we’re taken to the lab with, I guessed it, Carmen. Rick, Marty, and Craig are there. And Emma looks to be checking out Twitter or something. Let me just say, this whole “one day ago” is bull. Rick’s hair is longer and he has a lot more beard than he did “yesterday” afternoon. Carmen says the staple is used to help change the direction of rope and used with a pulley. The crew surmises this means the staple was used to get the boulders in the quadrilateral. Carmen says staples like that were used during medieval times. Clotworthy gives us a diatribe, but I tuned him out. Emma confirms the staple is old. Oh, and it seems she’s using Laird’s Microsoft account. Not cool, Emma. Miriam wouldn’t do that. Also, Prometheus forgot to blur out the date and time on the computer screen. Says 3:49pm. Morning my ass, Clotworthy. And another fucking commercial. I guess the commercials are good for people with overactive bladders. But, you can discover Gemtesa to help with your overactive bladder! Just it’ll give you every time else and likely kill you. Oh, and probably more bladder issues. But they’ll have a pill ready for that, too! Ahem…
We return to the lab. Clotworthy tells us it’s a medieval staple. Also, we are now to call the quadrilateral the “Great Quadrilateral”. I guess that’s an okay name for the hotel at the Treasure Zone.
“Later that afternoon”, we’re back out at the Garden Shaft. Scott failed to find the g-spot, so Rick and Craig have come out to help the Dumbasses probe for it. This obviously means were in for a big moment. A climax, if you will. We’re told that the g post was not found on the eastern wall. So they’re now going to look for it on the west. West sideee, baby. We get a little interview with Marty. He tells us that once they get to the bottom of the hole, they can start probing down and around to look for that g-spot. The Dumbass supervisor speculates that whoever first made the hole was in a rush. My experience with guys is that most are in a rush. This doesn’t surprise me one bit. Craig talks about his experience probing. Unfortunately, no g-spot found this week. And we’re not taken to “the next day” at the war room. I’m guessing this is where we’ll declare victory for the week. Time is running short. More head nodding? Let’s see!
The war room meeting is to get an update on the mysterious wall. Come to think of it, the wall reminds me more of that one from the end of the Shawshank Redemption. Only that wall had something valuable under one of its rocks. But, back to the meeting. We’re practically at all hands-on deck. Simple Jack is in his seat. You know he is revved up for this meeting after his tree discovery. Laird is asked to tell use more about the wall. He says it’s unique and we’re given a flashback of Laird, Miriam, and Alex digging up the wall a few weeks ago. Naturally, this whole scene was just to satisfy the thirsty Miriam-obsessed. Back in the war room, Craig gives us a date on the piece of charcoal found under the stone wall. The range is 1474-1638- Conveniently fitting into this week’s theory of Portuguese treasure. In fact, we’re told that “we know” Portuguese were in the area. I guess if it’s said on COI, it HAS to be true! Simple Jack can’t contain himself anymore and gives us a profound thought to think on for the rest of the week: people don’t build walls for no reason. Wow, Jack. Fucking wow. There’s an old saying that says it’s better to remain silent and appear stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Jack really should try that now and then. We’re given some more shit by NSCC Professor Doug about the Templars, and Rick says we need to keep an open mind until the facts say otherwise.
And that’s the show for this week. Thank Fucking God. I foolishly thought it would be fun to try this with JJ out. Fuck that. JJ, much respect to you. I don’t know how you do it. I’m amazed every week with your reviews/rants. After giving it a go myself, I’m even more perplexed how you get it done. But with that, I’m off to the 24-hour liquor store now. Peace!

2023.03.29 04:43 BTpokes Trying to find my septic tank cover. I’m led to believe it’s buried under the concrete. Advice?
2023.03.29 04:21 MoSBanapple Demons Roots is an indie RPG-maker eroge game. It is also one of the best JRPGs I have ever played.
Now, I know what you're thinking. You look at the steam page and do a quick google search of "Demons Roots". You say to yourself: this is an RPG-maker game, and a hentai game at that, by some random developer you've never heard of. There's so many of these clogging up the Steam Store. How is this game any different?
Well, I was in that position about a week and a half ago. I saw a comment on a thread about the Steam Spring Sale praising this game, comparing it to titles like Nier (and another comment comparing it to Chrono Trigger). So I went in and found the same thing on the surface: a low-budget RPG-maker hentai game. Then, I scrolled down and noticed that nearly every review on the store page had high praise for the game's writing and story. Maybe that original comment was onto something? The game was on sale (and in fact, it still is), and I had money to spare, so I picked up the title, downloaded the restoration patch for the game from the Kagura Games website, and booted it up to give it a go.
Fast forward about a week and a half. Credits are rolling. Demons Roots is now one of my favorite RPGs ever.
Those reviews I talked about that were praising the game's writing? They weren't kidding. The game's strongest point is its characters and story, and it is STRONG. Just as a quick overview, the story of Demons Roots is about the demon race, exiled to the dark realm after the defeat of the demon lord. A thousand years later, the dark realm is collapsing, and the demons must invade the ruthless human empire to ensure their own survival. The main character, Deathpolca, is a fantastic protagonist; my favorite RPG protagonist for a while has been Estelle Bright from the Trails series, but I think Deathpolca is up there with her. She's got a very strong, almost arrogant personality, yet is surprisingly insightful or vulnerable at times, and the way we learn more and more about her as the story goes on is done very well. The rest of the cast is great as well; party members consist mostly of the lost and downtrodden from various kingdoms such as slaves and gladiators (and an isekai'd FBI agent). They're also well-written, have great chemistry with each other, and get plenty of moments to shine; they're definitely one of the stronger JRPG parties I've played with in terms of character and writing. The story itself is fast-paced, but not overwhelmingly so. There's moments to breathe, but there's not much in the way of pointless filler, as the plot is consistently moving as the player and the cast navigate the various turns and twists of the 40 hour story. And believe me, there are twists! While the story isn't completely unpredictable, it kept me on my toes for quite a bit, especially in the later half. And the execution is stellar; it nails pretty much all the ideas and beats that it goes for. By the time credits were rolling, I was close to tearing up, and I wanted more from these characters and this world.
In terms of gameplay, it's pretty standard turn-based RPG fare, though it's not bad. Besides health, you've got two resources to manage: your standard MP, and TP, which is a meter that starts near 0 and rises as you do actions until you spend it on skills (think CP from Trails except it doesn't carry over between battles). Your party members have well-defined kits formed from the skills and magic they gain from leveling up, and they usually fit into pretty standard roles (tank, fighter, mage, support, etc). Battles are quick and rarely frustrating, though the game is overall on the easier side. Enemies are visible on the field and you get a battle-start bonus if you run into them from behind. There's no random encounters outside of EX dungeons (optional dungeons unlocked after you clear an area in the story).
Other points:
- The OST is composed by Shade (a former AliceSoft composer) and he's done very well. The boss themes in particular are bangers and the final boss theme is excellent.
- I've called this a hentai or eroge game multiple times, but to tell you the truth, it's more like a JRPG first and an eroge game second or third. It feels like a proper RPG that occasionally reminds you that it's an eroge every five hours by inserting a scene of a party member taking it up the ass or something like that. If you're actually looking for hentai instead of a stellar JRPG, you'll probably be disappointed. There is a kingdom/amusement park entirely dedicated to sex, though.
- Despite my singing of praises, the game is not perfect. The writing can falter a little here and there, there isn't much party customization beyond who equips what and who you bring into battle, the eroge parts are kinda eh and can be a turn-off depending on how squeamish you are, it's a low-budget RPG-maker games and has some of those low-budget quirks you'd expect like music pop-in and lacking animations. However, don't let that stop you from picking this game up, unless you're really turned off by that sort of stuff.
- If you do pick up the game on Steam (it's 20% off right now), make sure to download the restoration patch from the Kagura Games website. It fixes a lot of things; for example, it adds a "cinematic" difficulty mode if you just want to coast through the story, whereas the unpatched Steam version just gives you a boatload of super powerful items at the start of the game whether you want them or not. It also adds several sprites and CG art pieces that are missing in the unpatched Steam version, as well as an R18 scene filter if you don't want to watch them.
- There's apparently a sequel called King Exit (or rather, this is a prequel of King Exit?). I don't think it's gotten a proper translation, and I don't know much about it.
Overall, despite the low budget and the fact that this is an RPG-maker eroge game, the dev's passion for the RPG genre really shows, and this is one of the best examples of not judging a book by its cover (or rather, its genre). This little game that released in English quietly at the start of the year blew away all of my expectations. Demons Roots is an outstanding RPG, and one that'll be sitting around the top of my list for a while.
I'm not good at writing recommendations. Please play this game. It is amazing.
TL;DR: This indie RPG-maker eroge game is one of the best RPGs that I've played and deserves the attention of the JRPG community. Go play it. submitted by

2023.03.29 04:11 idkwhatimdoing1982 High level of ammonia but goldfish seem just fine. Why could that be?
Hi all. So I have. 40 gallon aquarium with 2 smaller goldfish. I just added them to the tank 2.5 weeks ago. At the time my API test kit was reading 7.8 pH, <0.25 ammonia, and 0 nitrite and nitrate. However in those few weeks the pH has gone up to around 8, the nitrates at close to 20ppm, and the ammonia at a whopping 8.0ppm (nitrite remains at 0).
However my fish seem totally fine. No signs of distress, no gasping for air at the top, no odd behavior. I just added some Seachem Prime when I saw the reading. Does anyone have an explanation for this and what I should do.
I’ve was told a bunch on here in a previous post that odds are the tank never cycled properly. I added Tetra Safe start and then waited a week before adding the fish. That was probably a mistake though.

- Samsung 980 EVO 500GB NVME system drive
- WD Blue 2TB NVME Gen 3 gaming drive
- 2 WD_BLACK P10 5TB HDDs for game file storage and TV Show/Movie "server" (both inside the case)
- 3 Crucial SSDs (2x 500GB, 1x 1TB - inside case) - for gaming being reused from 2 old/dead laptops
- 4 older laptop HDDs for Audiobooks/music/Retro gaming (4 white external USB drive enclosures on top of case attached to a Sabrent 7-port powered USB hub also with my web cam and USB headphone dongle)
- Logitech F310 Gaming controller
- CyberPower 1500W UPS Backup/Surge Protection system
- 4k Panasonic Blu-Ray DVD player and Brother color printer as well.
Only problem for lighting is the ASUS GPU. When I turned them on to white, it was a light green color, so I just keep them turned off. Don't know if that is standard with these cards or just because it is used. I think I will put a LED strip on the front inside facing the GPU to give it a "fullebrighter" look in that part of the case. Found an Addressable RGB 2 pack white LED strips that plug into the 12v header on the MB, so NZXT Cam should be able to control it.

2023.03.29 03:51 Fabulous_Dave Determining the legality of Ecoboost mods in my country/state.
Hi guys. Been in this community for a long time, first time post however!
Looking to determine the legality of the mods for my EcoBoost in my state (NSW, Australia).
I want to add the following to my vehicle.
⁃ MBRP Race Cat back exhaust ⁃ Turbosmart Plum Back BOV ⁃ Airaid CAI ⁃ Mishimoto Performance Intercooler Kit ⁃ Mishimoto Aluminum Coolant Expansion Tank w/ Silicone coolant Hose Kit ⁃ Mishimoto Strut tower brace
I believe the Cooling tank and strut tower brace are fine. My concern is around the exhaust, BOV, CAI and Intercooler. NSW has regulations surrounding emissions and I am unsure if these would break the requirements for my state. The modifications would also require engineering approval to get singed off which is not an issue as I would have them professionally installed.
Can appreciate that there’s probably a minimal amount of guys on here from Aus, but any help would be great.
Thanks!

2023.03.29 02:44 Dynemaxian My next conversion project: the Chimerax!
| Stumbled on this variant a while back. It was a kit bash of a Chimera from the giy who also created Nork Deddog, and has a modern MBT turret and autocannons from heavy weapons teams kits giving you a quad autocannon and full troop capacity. It has been featured in White Dwarf 185, in the core book of one of the early editions, had a Forgeworld kit, and even featured in lore. From what I can see, it seems like it slowly folded into what is now the Hydra model, and the Chimerax command tank was slowly forgotten? In game I will probably run as a Hydra, as there appears to have never been rules created for it, although a quad autocannon turret Chimera with transport capacity would be a hoot to run in a game! submitted by Dynemaxian to TheAstraMilitarum [link] [comments] |
2023.03.29 02:44 BrenlynnRose New Tank Advice
| Hello. I had someone decide to gift me a 5 gallon aquarium kit and I missed having my betta from before I moved out of my parents house so my current thought is to prep it for one. Unfortunately a larger tank wouldn't be allowed right now, but I am only planning and Beta and maybe a small algae eater. The tank has a filter and heater. I just set it up today with some betta conditioner and am trying to let the water cycle. Decorations is as pictured, though I absolutely plan on also getting a betta hammock leaf thing as Sushi always loved his in my last tank. I'm afraid to do live plants especially on such a small tank. The ones I have in there are all silk. If anyone has any extra advice I'd love to hear it. submitted by BrenlynnRose to bettafish [link] [comments] |
2023.03.29 02:41 sudoku1984 Full-time stationary through grad school?
Hey. Could anyone point me in the direction of where to do research?
I start grad school in the fall, 7-8 years, then plan to move. I want to live alone with my cats. I found land for 40k. It has a well, septic, electric and can get broadband. I thought about putting down a trailer, but average sale price right now for a single wide mobile home in that area is about 50k, so that's a waste of money. My thought is if I buy an RV, at least I have something when I'm done.
I'm the kind of person sometimes takes a 1-week road trip and sleeps in my car to save money. I love doing that, so I think I will enjoy having the RV when I'm done.
I'm worried about climate control for my cats, especially if I'm away for 8-12 hours for classes/whatever. Average low in winter is 21F. Average high in summer is 82F. Is that doable?
How much work is this going to be? I'm pretty handy and have fixed appliances and done minor plumbing work when needed.
Any thoughts about electric/wateseptic hookups? Especially hooking up to a septic tank?
There's an RV place going out of business not far from here and I'm hoping I can find something I can afford. Any thoughts on all this? Thanks for your help.

2023.03.29 02:40 BIGGN46 I’m making a BF1 1/35th scale model Diorama, what should the map be????
So for some context I am planning on building a model diorama based on a section of a BF1 map including some of the most played tanks (with my own played skins), classes (including weapons if I can) and of course a area of whichever map to include all this on. Planning on it taking up at least a couple feet in width and length so looking at a nice chunk of the map in the scale I’m doing. Maybe I will attempt the behemoths like the armored train if they are on the maps, giants shadow would include part of the destroyed blimp because that’s awesome, otherwise I’d spend more time on the details for other maps so don’t let that sway you.
Also looking for ideas if you have any!
Edit:
for other map suggestions I do only have British and German troops for now as they are the relatively affordable and most easily available in model kits, so keep that in mind
Edit 2:
Current list of vehicles and tanks to be included - British armored car - heavy tank - 2x light tank - st. Chamound
- maybe MKV land ship (not MKIV) if I can find one in 1/35th
All of these tanks, depending on the tanks size itself, are largely the size of your hand and/or fit well inside

2023.03.29 02:01 Tyrann0saurusRX Fuel tank size?
I just started rebuilding an old motovox mbx10 and with a predator 224 and motor riser to clear the torque converter I can no longer fit the stock fuel tank.
What are other people running as an alternative?
I see a lot of the little cylinder tanks from GPS/OMB but they're only 0.3 gal which is a big decrease from the 0.9 gal stock tank. There's some bigger cylinders on ebay that can get up to 0.75 gal which would be better but the tank is a bit bulkier.
Do people find the 0.3 gal cylinders adequate? Or are there other alternatives people are using?
