| AEW Double or Nothing 2023: Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta) Vs. The Elite (Matt and Nick Jackson and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page): The Build: This one needs no introduction, since it’s what’s going on IRL. The whole BCC violently attacked The Elite and Hanger, writing them off from TV for a few weeks for them to come back and get beat up again. While Hangman and The Bucks goes to help each other countless times, sometimes with success, sometimes with none, the numbers game is too overwhelming since Omega is not getting involved,BCC has Hangman and the other Buck locked into Yuta’s and Claudio’s submission, Danielson simply watching and laughing, while Mox has one of the Bucks ready to drop them headfirst with a Top Turnbuckle Death Rider when Omega comes for the save. Rushing to the ring dropping belt on the floor, he nails Yuta with a V-Trigger, ducks Claudio’s Lariat, hits him with a Snap Dragon Suplex, Danielson rushes in for the Busaiku Knee but Omega dodges and while Bryan is recovering on the ropes, BANG WITH A V-TRIGGER THROUGH THE ROPES!!! Mox releases one of the Bucks to go help his BCC brothers but before he’s able to go down from the ropes, Omega rushes up, DROPKICKS MOXLEY WHO FALLS INTO THE BCC ON THE OUTSIDE!!! A lucky landing, however, Omega’s worry about the Bucks turns into rage as he sees, on the ground, Danielson laughing and holding the IWGP US belt above his head. The following week sees a rising rift between the Bucks and Omega, since Kenny doesn’t want anything to do with Hangman. The Elite can’t really worry too much about that, with Kenny with his hands full with a task for Double or Nothing, they also have an objective at the PPV. The objective being to PUT DOWN THE BCC! The Match: There is no other way this can go. The BCC controls the majority of the match, splitting Hangman from the group and working on him with torturous punishment. The few comebacks The Elite can make are squashed and they’re having a real underdog performance. The weakest link on BCC side being Yuta, Mox and Claudio do everything they can to stop The Elite from cutting him from the rest of the group, and it works very well, since even with wild, high paced comebacks, The Elite can’t get the upper hand. This one comes to an end when, after Hangman misses an Orihara Moonsault and crashes on a table on the outside, taking him out of the match, Yuta plants Nick Jackson with a Piledriver on the apron, it leaves Mox and Claudio to pick apart Matt like wild african dogs. Mox drops Matt with a Death Rider and uses the momentum to roll him into Claudio’s grip, who drops Matt with a Neutralizer, they coin the name Blackpool Assembly Line, ironically, it leaves a disassembled Matt Jackson to be pinned. Blackpool Combat Club def. The Elite via pinfall. FTR Vs. Golden Ace - AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Build: After FTR is able to capture the AEW Tag Team Championship from The Gunns, they are tasked with one of the biggest challenges of their career shortly after. After one promo on a Dynamite episode, where they declare themselves to be the absolute best on tag team wrestling, to be the true aces of that division, one certain ace takes offense to that, as Tanahashi does his new shtick of showing randomly to US and having matches, but this time he’s in the need of a team mate, and he’s not alone, as he marches down with KOTA MOTHERFUCKING IBUSHI!!!!!!!! The crowd goes crazy because of the implications of that and the match is soon set up for Double or Nothing, because I’m a strong believer in week-long feuds for the sake of having a dope match. The Match: This is the fast paced, hard hitting match one would expect, instead of long chain wrestling sequences and stuff like that, FTR takes it into Tana with shades of Hansen and Vader violence and brutality, putting the Strong Style hater into uuuuh fucking Strong Style I guess lol. Tana gets very overwhelmed during the match until Ibushi is able to tag himself in and he goes crazy, as he usually does, matching FTR’s intensity and even taking it up another level. Tana eventually gets going and is able to match the intensity without having to betray his beliefs and the match gets more and more competitive. This one comes to an ending when, after Golden Ace was mounting the big comeback and getting the momentum on their side, a sudden Shatter Machine out of nowhere to Tana was able to keep him down for the 3 count! The out of nowhere finisher caught the crowd off guard. A show of respect, with FTR displaying the code of honor as the 4 men go out of the ring with their heads high. (this was the filler match lmao) FTR def. Golden Ace via pinfall to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship Taya Valkyrie Vs. Jade Cargill - AEW TBS Championship: The Build: Big woman Vs. Big woman . It’s built in the most Sports Entertainment way, with segments with feats of strength, push up and pull up competitions, all that good shit, but the competition eventually ends in brawls. The Match: Big women. Big moves. Big slams. HOLY SHIT TAYA KICKED OUT OF JADED!!!! Bigger moves. Bigger slams. Three Jaded later and Taya is done. very simple. Jade Cargill def. Taya Valkyrie via pinfall to retain the AEW TBS Championship Orange Cassidy Vs. Kenoh - AEW International Championship: This is Kenoh for those of you who doesn't know, he's a great worker, he's always angry and he has a dope entrance. Match Suggestion - Kenoh Vs. Kaito Kiyomiya from NOAH's New Year Show. The Build: With Forbidden Door season being almost around the corner, this year the event is expanded as a joint show between NJPW, AEW, Impact and NOAH! Kongoh was chosen as the NOAH representative after Kenoh dogged on Kaito to see which wrestler was going to Forbidden Door as a chance to showcase what NOAH is all about. Kenoh not only dogged on Kaito,he threatened his way into a match for AEW gold, Kenoh saying that ripping a treasure out of AEW and taking it to NOAH would be the best he could do to NOAH. One Orange Cassidy wasn’t comfortable with the constant threatening and bullying by Kongoh’s part, so he challenged Kenoh himself. Before Kenoh can compete at FB for AEW gold, he’ll have to compete at Double or Nothing. Kenoh, the man who embodies being pissed off, didn’t know what he was getting into and promptly accepted the match, gold is gold. The Match: The most annoying US wrestler to go against Vs. The most irritable man alive. If you watched Naito/Kenoh you know what’s going on. Orange does his lazy work and that only prompts Kenoh to be more and more violent. The strategy works a lot on OC’s behalf as he is able to draw Kenoh into unfavorable situations, almost scoring an out of nowhere win when he landed a sudden Orange Punch but Kenoh spilled to the outside to not be pinned. The trend kept going until the end of the match, when Kenoh geared his burning fighting spirit by no selling a Beach Break, rolling off of the move straight into a Knee Strike to the back of Orange’s head. Kenoh, exhausted, makes the climb for the top rope. When he’s there, OC fires his own fighting spirit, runs over the rope and tries to push Kenoh from it but to no avail, as Kenoh kicked Cassidy mid-climb and followed it WITH THE P.F.S!!!! HOLY FUCKING SHIT KENOH PINS ORANGE CASSIDY!!!!!! Kenoh celebrates with the rest of Kongoh as he waves his faction flag around after putting on a NOAH T-Shirt. Kenoh def. Orange Cassidy via pinfall to win the AEW International Championship - TITLE CHANGE Kenny Omega Vs. Bryan Danielson II - IWGP United States Championship: The Build: Well, didn’t I say Omega had his hands full? After the announcement that it’s going to be BCC Vs. Elite, the other side of this feud was also announced. TK announces for Double or Nothing it will be THE REMATCH FOR ‘The Best Bout Machine. The Cleaner’ KENNY OMEGA Vs. ‘The American Dragon. The Best Wrestler in the World’ BRYAN DANIELSON WITH THE INTERNATIONAL WRESTLING GRAND PRIX UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP IN A 60 MINUTES TIME LIMIT MATCH!!!!! The Match: Fuck’s am I supposed to write here? Go watch their match and add the following - After the 30 minutes mark, Omega and Danielson just brawling inside the ring until Kenny went for a Roundhouse Kick, that Danielson ducked, but on the momentum of the spin, Kenny jumped up and NAILED THE AMERICAN DRAGON WITH A V-TRIGGER, Danielson drops and gets ANOTHER V-TRIGGER AND ANOTHER AND ANOTHER AND ANOTHER ONE!!!!!!! Omega goes for the pin but DANIELSON KICKS OUT AT FUCKING ONE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Danielson fighting spirit is on AS HE DOES A FUCKING KIP UP AFTER 5 V-TRIGGERS AND HE BEGINS TO KICK OMEGA’S HEAD LIKE A FUCKING BALL!!!!!! Danielson begins to kick Omega’s head in, turns the champion around for the LeBel Lock but Omega rolls forward to get out of it and Danielson, still with wrist control, NAIL OMEGA WITH A KAMIGOYE WHICH OMEGA PROMPTLY NO SELLS AND STANDS FACE TO FACE WITH DANIELSON JESUS FUCKING CHRIST WHAT IS THIS!!!!!! They start to trade forearm after forearm, then kick after kick and it’s like we’re on the fucking start of the match again until one frontal kick to Omega makes him stumble back as he rebounds on the ropes and spins around TAKING DANIELSON’S HEAD OFF WITH A DISCUSS LARIAT!!! Omega does his theatrics, aims the V-Trigger, hits the ropes, jumps for the knee AND DANIELSON DUCKS OUT OF THE WAY, QUICKLY LOCKING OMEGA ON A DOUBLE UNDERHOOK AS HE LIFTS HIM UP HOLY FUCK DANIELSON HITS OMEGA WITH THE DEATH RIDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! Omega rolls to the outside but Bryan grabs a hold of his hair. Omega trashes to be let go, nails a forearm that rocks Danielson a bit and a SUPERKICK OUT OF NOWHERE TO DANIELSON ON THE ROPES!!!! The dragon is dangling, half of his body to the outside and Omega sees the opening. He climbs to the apron, does the finger guns AND JESUS FUCKING CHRIST HE BASHES DANIELSON’S HEAD WITH A KAMIGOYE AGAINST THE RING POST!!!!! DANIELSON STARTS TO BLEED LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER IN THE RING WHAT WOULD IBUSHI THINK MY GOD!!!! Omega climbs to the apron on the opposite side of the ring as Danielson is getting up and a sudden realization hits. Omega holds the ropes and takes aim. When Danielson is on his feet, Omega slingshots himself over it, he gracefully(not really) flips over the top rope, his feet land on the ring and he extends his arms. Unlike a buckshot fired straight to the chest of a crackhead invading my house, OMEGA MISSES THE BUCKSHOT LARIAT, DANIELSON DUCKS UNDER IT, HITS THE ROPE AND BUSAIKU KNEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! DANIELSON IS NOT FUCKING DONE! He takes Omega arms and begins to stomp away and Omega stops moving, the referee tries to separate them but Danielson KICKS THE HEAD OF THE REFEREE OF, THE REF IS KNOCKED OUT! Danielson puts Omega on a kneeled position and KAMIGOYE! KAMIGOYE! KAMIGOYE KAMIGOYE KAMIGOYE KAMIGOYE KAMIGOYE KAMIGOYE ONE AFTER THE FUCKING OTHER!!!! Danielson shows no sign of stopping until HANGMAN ADAM PAGE AND KOTA IBUSHI RUSHES TO THE RING!!! Ibushi goes straight to Danielson with blood on his eyes and Hangman goes to check on Omega by order of Kota. Ibushi slips inside the ring AND EATS A BUSAIKU KNEE!!!! Danielson starts to laugh maniacally as he stomps Ibushi’s head in. Page is able to wake Omega up, who sees what’s happening and V-TRIGGERS DANIELSON ON THE BACK OF THE HEAD AND HOISTS HIM UP FOR THE ONE WINGED ANGEL!!!! OMEGA DROPS DANIELSON AND COVERS HIM BUT THERE IS NO FUCKING REFEREE!!!!!!!!!! The medic team is the first to reach the ring, after them coming in BCC to beat the living hell out of Hangman some more and now Ibushi is getting some to protect his Golden Lover. During the whole commotion, Aubrey marches down the ring and as a repeat from Danielson/MJF, Bryan nails Omega’s head with an oxygen tank! Danielson goes back inside the ring with Aubrey there already, he stomps on Omega’s head some more, he begins rolling Omega but he notices the limp body, gives up on the LeBel Lock, and with one feet on Omega’s chest it’s One…Two…Thr- OMEGA KICKS OUT HOLY FUCKING SHIT AIN’T NO WAY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The dream, however, is dead in the water, as Danielson now locks in the LeBel Lock and faster than you could say The Motherfucking American Dragon, Omega goes dark, Aubrey does the hand lifting thing but to no avail, Omega is out… AND YOUR NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW IWGP UNITED STATES CHAMPION, THE AMERICAN DRAGON BRYAN DANIELSOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bryan Danielson def. Kenny Omega via submission to win the IWGP United States Championship - TITLE CHANGE submitted by Patrik_Again to FantasyBookingElite [link] [comments] |
2023.03.31 17:04 badmark My cold came back and laid me up over the last week, but I'm finally starting to feel better and have finished up my build of the Kit Adam R2 in grey. Small improvements make this model that much nicer. Looking forward to future offerings from Boyu and KBDcraft.

2023.03.31 17:03 Glad-Woodpecker-6712 I would love an alternative G&G where they're ugly
I love the show... but let's be honest we give Georgia an easy ride because of pretty priveledge. And some of the "amazing" stuff she does is pretty average (like the casino night, she literally planned an event that she volunteered to plan, big whoop) and some of her comebacks don't even make sense.
I get it's supposed to be aspirational and it's a teen drama so there is a certain aesthetic. But it would be good to see them address the complicated issues of abuse/manipulative narcissit and see if audiences would be so quick to defend her.
I wouldn't change Ginny though, I think the way they've portrayed her is 10/10- she's gorgeous but she looks and dresses like a pretty normal teenager (well for a teen show). At least she looks like the teenagers I went to school with (I went to quite a rich school).
Also no shade on the actress to plays Georgia, brilliant performance! 👏

2023.03.31 17:02 HowtoSavetheHumans Warriors Guild
So the next guild we will discuss is the Warriors Guild. Warriors are basically the athletes in our society and they have many outlets already, but humans, even in the pursuit of peace, should never lose our warrior spirit. Chief sitting bull once said, “Warriors are not what you think of as warriors. The warrior is not someone who fights, for no one has the right to take another life. The warrior, for us, is the one who sacrifices himself for the good of others. His task is to take care of the elderly, the defenseless, those who cannot provide for themselves, and above all, the children, the future of humanity.” Warriors have protected those they love for millenia. As we evolve to find peace in humanity, our warriors should be strong, but live by a code of cherishing life above all things. I've heard this quote with slightly different wording and attributed to many sources, including the Shaolin monks, and it is often called the 5-fold path of the warrior, “Avoid before contain, contain before strike, strike before maim, maim before kill, for all life is precious and none should be wasted. Many great warriors have reiterated the fact that to avoid a fight is the first potential victory you can attain in a fight. So how do we practice and express our humanity's warrior spirit in a healthy way? With a Warriors Guild. The Warrior's Guild will be a place where people can dress up in full padded gear and battle each other for exercise and a chance to practice their techniques in somewhat padded rooms. It would work like a gym membership, and people could bring their own padded armor and weapons or use what the Guild has on-hand. Sportsmanship and treating one another with respect will be of the utmost importance at the Warriors Guild, something the Warriors should take with them everywhere they go. Once padded up, Guild members would fight in rounds. There will be divisions for trained martial artists vs the untrained, as well as striking vs grappling and a division mixing the two. People can battle those of similar size and/or gender, or take on bigger opponents if they want. Anyone who calls the fight over will be respected and those who do not stop immediately will face consequences. This could also be a place for people to settle disputes in a fun and hopefully injury-free way. There will of course have to be liability waivers signed that relinquish almost all liability of the Guild, like all the Guilds, but I think people would really enjoy it. The Guild in Vegas and places where gambling is legal could even allow betting on the fights according to who will quit or get exhausted first. Buddies could battle buddies, employees could challenge bosses, and family members could settle petty arguments. I had these ideas for quite sometime, and thought it fun to open a couple of them, one called Valhalla and one called The Jungle. I think calling it the Warriors Guild would be just fine though if we incorporate into the Guild System. For anyone interested in making this idea an reality can contact me at [

[email protected]). Good deed of the week: go out this week and do something sporty. It could be as complicated as playing a sport or jumping rope. Go ride a bike or go for a jog, but do something that requires you to use your body in a way that promotes physical strength, stamina, and agility. Then say to yourself, “Save the Humans.” For extra credit do a few things sporty this week.

2023.03.31 17:02 RedCastoff I Became a Commander, Whatever that Means (17/?)
First Previous Next
Chapter 17 - In a Small Clearing There Lived a Mouse Last Time: Having left Eightside, Laran, Leor, and Aiden began to make their way towards Tripit. Aiden took the opportunity to learn more about his companions, at least partially to distract himself from the less desirable aspects of traveling long distances by foot. Eventually, the three of them come across a strange sight - a chimeric creature drinking in the middle of the road. The creature seemed to desire the group to follow it, so they did. That is how they found Oriwyn, a hunter of spirits who had been paralyzed by her quarry for an entire night and who had sent her companion - the creature Brams, who she referred to as a winged badat - to go find help. Leor was able to remove the paralysis from Oriwyn, who then promptly requested to be added to the group. Seeing no reason to deny her request, Aiden accepted. Before she could completely join them on their travels though, Oriwyn asked to go back home to her mother.
Oriwyn was true to her word. Unless asked a direct question, she stayed quiet for a full twenty minutes. By the end of the time I think Leor felt kind of bad for being so snippy with her, as she immediately tried to strike up a conversation with the eccentric goblin with the oddly-shaped ears.
“So, Oriwyn, why did you just ask to join us without really hearing anything about us? We could be brigands or some other unsavory sort.”
Oriwyn grinned at the dwarf broadly.
“Call me Ori if you want! It’s easier to say! And I joined you because you seemed like good people - are you brigands?”
I watched the interaction with interest. If I was going to be the Commander of this particular outfit, I figured I should take an active interest in how people’s personalities worked together or clashed. Leor could be crabby and sarcastic, and so far Oriwyn seemed like sunshine personified in all ways except her occasionally grim turns of phrase. It was definitely a mix that felt like it could create problems. For the moment though, Leor just gave off a snorting laugh at Ori’s question.
“No, we aren’t brigands. But we could have been!”
Ori smiled sweetly. “Oh, I doubt it. Brams is an excellent judge of character!” Leor’s eyes squinted and I figured she was looking for any hint of sarcasm in our new companion’s answer. To be fair, I was too. For his part, Brams just walked ahead of all of us. He had a bald tail - it reminded me of a rat’s - which he swung around jauntily. At the sound of his name being mentioned he turned back over his shoulder and gave a small grunt. Regardless, both Leor and I came to the conclusion that Oriwyn implicitly trusted Brams’ judgment. I wondered if he was some form of animal companion, which would make Ori some form of Ranger if Earth class tropes still held. I felt like it was a safe bet she was the Wheel of the Shaded Forest at least, given her location and generally nature themed powers. My contemplation reminded me we actually didn’t know much about Oriwyn’s abilities, so I decided to ask about that. I waited for Leor and Ori to finish up whatever they had been discussing while I zoned out.
“Hey Ori, I was wondering what sort of things you could do in a fight. We have a lot of time to talk in fights, but I feel like it’ll be helpful to know before we get into one.”
Oriwyn nearly vibrated in excitement. “Yes! Dad always said that knowing who was at your back was ninety percent of surviving. Let’s see now… Is there any sort of stuff you particularly want to know?”
I thought for a moment. So far, it seemed like Roles were the best indicator of abilities, so I thought I’d start there. Distractedly, I also figured I should scry her to see what that could tell me.
Oriwyn Hawthorne, Level Seven (Shaded Forest) I sighed - heaven forbid it be too easy for me to get any information in this world. Out of curiosity, I also scried Leor. I hadn’t done so during the fight with Stabby and Shooty, and had been too distracted with preparations to do so since.
Leor Whisper, Level Five (Great Secret) That was somewhat confusing. Leor had said she was an Augur. Laran had told me he was a geomancer, and when he’d been in my party I could see him marked as such, but despite the same information from Leor she was unmarked. I decided to check to make sure I could still see his Role.
Laran Agana, Level Four (Geomancer) I reflected that things were weird again, though in the end they probably weren’t any weirder than what I normally dealt with. I debated a few ways to go about trying to figure out what was going on with Leor and Oriwyn and eventually just settled on honesty. My head snapped back to the present moment - Oriwyn had asked me what sort of information I wanted, and I figured I should actually answer.
“If you know it, I’d love to know your role. I’m a Commander - I’ll explain what that is as we walk - and Laran here is a Geomancer. Leor’s an Augur, though I’m admittedly having trouble identifying her at the moment - I’ve got a thing that lets me see information about people, but it just says she is in the Wheel of the Great Secret. For what it’s worth, it seems like you’re in the Wheel of the Shaded Forest.”
Oriwyn looked like she was trying to sponge the knowledge up. She must have held her father’s advice in high esteem, as she seemed to be trying to follow it enthusiastically. As she spoke, she sounded proud.
“Oh, my role? I’m a Ranger like my dad was - or, kind of like he was. He had a hawk named Red, while I’ve got Brams here. Also he was a lot better of a fighter than I was.” Internally, I noted the use of the past tense. Whoever her father had been, it seemed like he was unlikely to be around anymore. I tried not to think about what had gotten him killed - Ori had said her father was an adventurer. Regardless of what had happened to him - or, I wondered, because of what had happened to him - she had sounded very sincerely interested in joining us. Ori continued talking.
“I’ve not really fought a lot of things before, so you’ll need to give me some pointers.” This surprised me. She was level seven - a full two levels ahead of Leor, who was the next highest leveled. As I’d walked around Eightside, I had gotten the sense that most people were between levels one and five. I wondered if Oriwyn was holding something back. After all, we had found her trying to hunt down a spirit. Maybe her father had gotten her started and her own interests had pushed her further? Come to think of it, I didn’t understand how leveling up worked exactly - it would likely be a good idea to try and get us all to roughly the same level range before we got into the thick of things too badly. Oriwyn still had more to say too.
“I’m also a herbalist - Mom taught me. You’ll get to meet her soon! Her name’s Aspen, and she’s not going to like what I have to say. She’ll be grateful you came to get me though, so you’ve got that going for you. Also, I’m not sure I ever said thank you. If I didn’t, thank you! Everything was starting to hurt pretty badly and I’m sure the fact I got soaked in rainwater would have caused problems eventually.”
The speed at which Oriwyn talked had slowed a little. Her words definitely always felt like they were fighting each other to escape from her mouth, but there was more control now than there seemed to have been when she was first awakened. I wondered if she had just been really happy to be rescued? It was definitely possible. Leor seemed to be slightly warming to her, or at least she wasn’t actively trying to hide from Oriwyn anymore. I wondered about that too - had Leor just been overwhelmed? Was she actually annoyed, or was it more like it was just too much for her to deal with? I had noticed she moved quickly to help Oriwyn once the cause of her condition had been made clearer - I figured that could either be because she wanted to trade for Oriwyn’s silence, or because she had felt pity for the goblin with the strange ears. I shook my head - when one’s team was living, breathing people as opposed to digital ones and zeros, handling emotions suddenly became more important. I resolved to bring that up with Laran at some point - I didn’t think he would know much more than me about handling different personalities, but it would feel good to have someone else to rely on instead of trying to take it all on myself.
Conversation continued for a bit as we walked, but eventually we all got too tired to keep talking. I could tell that Oriwyn was very fatigued, as I could see her ears drooping and she would have absent-mindedly collided with a tree had Brams not interposed himself between her and the obstacle and gently redirected her. Laran was mostly fine, as was I - I really must have gotten a stamina upgrade coming to Tal, since the me from Earth would be feeling horrible with how much hiking I’d done in the past few days - but Leor looked rather tired. She had taken a lightning bolt to the gut and burped it out over the trees, so I guess that made sense.
Uncle Iroh made it look so easy though. Maybe the others would find it funny that my thoroughly non-magical world had stories like that.
Finally, we found a game trail. It wasn’t broad, and I didn’t think a cart could make it down the path, but it was clear ground and that meant we didn’t need to plow through low-lying branches and dense foliage to make forward progress. As we moved forward, Oriwyn began to walk a little taller. I could hear her taking deep breaths and wondered what was going through her mind.
“Mom’s house is about ten minutes away. I’ll announce our presence. She’ll probably yell at me a bit for being beat up, but it’s fine. Also, we’ll probably duck away from the rest of you to discuss… things. It’ll be fine, I’ll convince her that it’s a good idea to go with you all!”
This time, I could hear through Oriwyn’s positivity. There was an undercurrent of unease and worry which permeated her words. I spoke up, trying to give her an out.
“You know, Oriwyn, I’m flattered you want to join us, but if it’s going to be a problem you don’t have to. I don’t want to cause trouble with your mother…” As I trailed off, Oriwyn turned back to me and smiled. This smile was tinged with something I couldn’t quite recognize, but which I could partially describe as wistful.
“It’s okay, really. Mom will be sad, and she’ll try and talk me out of it, but this is what I want. She’s not been happy that I’ve kept training like Dad taught me to when I was young, but she hasn’t stopped me. I’m doing this for Dad’s memory, for us as a family, and for myself. I just need to tell her that.”
Oriwyn smiled again, a little sad and a little determined but still very excited to go, and I believed her. She was putting a lot of faith in us - and, though she probably didn’t know it, a lot of faith in me in particular - and I would see that her faith was well-founded.
As we rounded a corner in the road, we came into sight of a clearing. Oriwyn’s face immediately brightened up. The clearing was large and absolutely overgrown with low-lying plants. Small purple flowers grew on clustered stems, reminding me of lavender. Vines wound over and around lattices of wood. Bees buzzed everywhere in the warm spring air, and instantly I felt a sense of calm come over me.
In this ocean of flowers and herbs and life, it felt like nothing could touch us. Time itself seemed to flow around this place, as if it could never be anything other than what it was right now. Overhead, a hawk circled and craned its head down at the clearing - it must be hunting where there was no tree cover. Oriwyn looked up at the hawk and waved to it before taking a deep breath, setting her face, and walking on towards the house.
“Mom, I’m back! I have some companions!”
From behind a wooden door in the stone cabin, a beastkin emerged. She wasn’t very tall and had broad, near-circular ears coming prominently out of her head. I suddenly understood the descriptor of someone having “mousey brown hair” for the first time - something about the color of the hair that flowed around her ears indicated her mouse-like nature. She wore clothes dyed in bright, solid colors with a green belt. All in all, she looked almost exactly what I would have expected a herbalist to look like. It was nearly dark from the time it had taken us to find Ori and walk to her house, so she waited until we were quite close to greet us.
As we stepped into the light that was thrown from the interior of the house, I saw the mouse beastkin - Aspen - tense. I took a look at Oriwyn and was surprised to see how rough she looked. Maybe she had simply looked better earlier because we were comparing her to when she had been paralyzed, but now the large cuts seemed very obvious, as well as the various stains from rain and tree-sap and blood which colored her clothing. Still, Aspen didn’t say anything and nodded to us all cordially.
“Welcome to our house travelers, and unless I am much mistaken, thank you for saving my daughter from her… enthusiasm getting the better of her.”
There was a look passed between Oriwyn and Aspen which lasted a few seconds. I could see the opening salvos of an argument begin, could almost hear the worried protests of the mother and the confident, placating reassurances from the daughter. Eventually, with a sigh, Aspen broke the eye contact and turned to the rest of us.
“How about you come in and rest your weary legs? I know we are far from the road, and I would not have you stand and tire yourselves further if you’ve already come a long way.”
I thanked Aspen, as did Leor and Laran. I was surprised how comfortable it felt to sit down, how much my feet hurt as soon as I thought about it. Oriwyn had instantly scurried off to fetch a few chairs, which we all sank down into gratefully. With that done, Aspen simply motioned for her to sit at the table next to her. With a sigh, she did. Aspen pulled out a large mortar and pestle and began to collect herbs from the walls. Bundles were hung up everywhere, presumably to dry, and they infused the air with a floral, heavy smell which weighed on my eyelids heavily. Satisfied with what she had gathered, Aspen poured a small amount of oil into the mortar, added several of the gathered herbs, and began to mix them. Her posture radiated tension and concern and a slightly uneasy silence fell across the room. She cleared her throat.
“So, Ori, what happened to you?”
I could see Ori wince. I got the impression it wasn’t because of whatever her mother was putting on her wounds.
“So don’t get mad, but there was a lightning spirit, and-”
“Ori!” her mother nearly shouted. There was a look in her eyes and she let her hand drop. “You know better than that! Spirits are dangerous things! If your father was around, he would have-”
“He would have hunted the spirit just like I did, before it got into a town and hurt someone.”
There was silence. I feared to make any noise, and I figured Laran and Leor felt the same. Voices weren’t raised to the point of yelling, but it was clear that the emotions going on between mother and daughter were strong. After a second, Aspen raised her hands back to Oriwyn’s wounds and continued to work on them.
“Your father would have gotten a group together to help him.” There was sadness in Aspen’s voice. Oriwyn nodded along, agreeing with her mother.
“Yes, he would have, but there wasn’t a group of people to gather. That’s why I want to go with Aiden, Laran, and Leor here. They’re a party of adventurers, and they’re looking for more people to join them.”
Aspen’s face went through several emotions in rapid manner. Oriwyn simply held her hands out towards her mother, who took both of them. She leaned forward and rested her head on her mother’s shoulder.
“Please, Mom. I can feel this is right.”
Aspen looked extremely conflicted. She looked over at us, and I could feel the evaluating weight of her gaze. I wanted more than anything to avoid the intensity coming from her eyes, but I steeled myself and met it instead. Aspen slowly shook her head. Looking at her daughter, she spoke in a strained tone of voice.
“Oriwyn, you can’t just… Fine, we’ll talk about it.” She looked back over at the rest of us.
“Could you give us some time to speak? We don’t have lodging in the house for this many, but feel free to set up tents in the clearing. I didn’t see any of the rain-teller plants folded up, so it should be a dry night. Should you need food, please let me know, but for the moment I beg you pardon my breach of hospitality and give me some privacy to speak with my daughter.”
I instantly agreed and got to my feet despite my protesting legs. Leor and Laran swiftly followed - I don’t think any of us could have imagined ignoring her request. As we left, Leor caught Oriwyn’s eye. She nodded once, sharply, and Oriwyn nodded back. We closed the door behind us, and left the family to discuss whatever it was they needed to.
We set up camp quickly and made our own food. None of us felt like intruding in whatever was going on to ask for a meal. The night was pleasant with a slight wind which washed away the remaining mugginess from the previous night’s rain. We sat out and looked at the stars for a bit, occasionally conversing quietly.
“I wonder what happened to her father,” I mused out loud. Laran and Leor just nodded, but none of us speculated past that. It wouldn’t have felt right. Silence stretched out, and I glanced towards the house. There was still light visible from the windows, but we couldn’t hear anything nor see either Oriwyn or her mother. With a sigh, Leor spoke up.
“Well, I think she’s brave.”
I was surprised and raised an eyebrow questioningly at Leor. She just shrugged and went back to staring in the fire while Laran looked thoughtful. I didn’t press, and she didn’t offer any explanation, so the topic died. Shortly thereafter, Leor was the first to go to her tent. When she was gone, I sat next to Laran.
“So, what are you thinking?”
Laran was silent for a bit longer. He had taken his shoes off and had buried his toes into the ground. I had noticed him doing some of the techniques he used when he meditated. When he had found his answer, he looked at me and smiled.
“I had never thought that we would be dealing with so many… emotions. For the whole adventuring party thing that is. I thought it’d be only adventure an’ fighting an’ the like. Not this.”
I nodded silently and leaned against him. He leaned back, and thus we sat supporting each other under the moonlight. Soon I was nearly nodding off, and I excused myself to go back to my tent. Laran nodded and squeezed my hand as I left.
I don’t remember falling asleep, but I do remember waking up the next morning. The day had dawned a little chilly, though it felt bracing instead of cold. The scents of pollen and flowers hung in the air, and I could almost swear that the sun shone in rays through the golden dust that the plants produced.
There was not much fanfare when Oriwyn came out of the house. She had a pack on and a huge grin on her face. Brams was with her, of course, and he also seemed eager to go. Aspen followed her out and came to talk to me.
“Aiden, from what Oriwyn said yesterday you’re the leader of this group. It isn’t my position to restrict my daughter from going anywhere or doing what she pleases but…” Aspen’s voice dropped to a croak and she fell silent, blinking violently and clearing her throat. Her eyes were puffy, likely the result of having cried the night before. “...but please keep her safe. She’s the only family I have left.” Tears ran down Aspen’s face silently as she looked up at me.
“I’ll try, I promise you I will try with all my might.” A thrill of panic shot through me as I was speaking - I was putting us all in possible danger just by adopting the lifestyle of an adventuring party, and I feared the day that I would need to deal with the consequences of that - but my resolve was firm. I was the Commander. I would keep everyone safe.
Aspen’s smile was watery but seemed genuine.
“That’s all you can ask of anyone. Drenza would have loved to have met you - I’m sure he could have told you a story or two about what it’s like to be an adventurer!”
I looked at the rest of my party. Laran was finishing up packing a tent while Leor had nearly instantly gone to talk with Oriwyn. We would be fine. We would work as a team. We would win when we needed to fight.
It was this thought that hardened my resolve. I needed to find a way for all of us to train. Laran, Leor, and I said our goodbyes to Aspen, and Oriwyn hugged her tight for a full thirty seconds. They exchanged words, but none of us listened to them. After that, Oriwyn turned to us, wiper a tear from her eyes, re-affixed her grin to her face, and began to confidently stride away from her home.

They looked horrid in combination with the dress, and made a lot of noise besides. The boots clomped on the dancefloor like the falling blows of a hammer, and with every footfall her dance partner flinched. He was a very tall human with salt and pepper gray hair and a thin mustache that moved nervously on his lip. As they spun in a stately waltz, Daisy spoke. “Dahling, you look so nahvous - why don’t you relax an’ just ahnjoy the musahc?” Daisy’s partner blanched. He hated it when she did that stupid accent - it meant she was feeling mischievous. As mayor of the city, he should be carting Daisy off to the stockades for all she had done, but here she was at the Duke’s birthday party. Her own goons were serving drinks, and the worst part of it all was that this was normal. This was the twelfth time he had ended up as Daisy’s dance partner, and he had no illusion that she was doing it by accident. 2023.03.31 17:02 aaaahhatelife I’m 21 and have never had a bf let alone make attention
Doesn’t seem to matter what I do. I dress well, I’m in shape, I wear makeup, etc. maybe it’s my race? I live in a white area and I’m middle eastern. I was called slurs in school so maybe I’m the wrong race. My friends keep gaslighting me and claiming it’s not bc of that but idk what else maybe I’m just plain out ugly. I just want to experience a relationship before I get old. I keep thinking maybe one day for years. The only place I can find guys is on dating apps but they barely respond so I think it is my looks

Where killing bosses together was the reward, and not loot. Where officers were worth their ranks, and GM's were the first amongst servants. Where individual performance was supported and rewarded, not maligned. Where raiders were selfless not selfish. Where it wasn't the top vs the bottom, but all united in a common goal-together. I had a dream, a dream of Spring." How to apply: Website:
spring-guild.com Please kindly use the direct link:
https://forms.gle/rnuSMQxGWrx8ZXRE9 Officers will get back to you in (1-3 days) regarding your application. If the application is approved, a voice interview (about 30 minutes) will be conducted to address the guild, any questions you may have.
Trials last through several weeks of progression raiding, 100% attendance (unless already excused) is expected during the trial period. A trial will get into some raids immediately. Once trials are approved to members, they should expect about 80% playtime.
or simply apply through our discord!
https://discord.gg/8zExqrKNVT About Spring Spring US-illidan is formed from a collection of raid veterans with 15 years of experience at the Top 30 US, Top 200 US, and CE level who dreamed for more. The guild leadership is united in a shared vision of creating a safe and welcoming environment, while maintaining a progress effort that reflects our experience on a lighter mythic schedule.
The guild culture is one of collaboration not competition: We cooperate, we discuss, we grow, we count on ourselves and each other inside and outside of raid. The guild maintains a focus on doing what is always best for the guild, and for our raiders.
Raiding Schedule: 6 hours weekly which includes farm kills during progression. We are respectful and discerning about everyone’s time, and do not extend raid for any reason.
We raid 2-3 days a week at the following times :
Main Raid (25 Man Roster):
(6 hours weekly during prog this tier-VoI) (9 hours next tier - first month only)
Tuesday 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm server time (CST)
Wednesday 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm server time (CST)
Other guild events: Alt Raid/Heroic (Optional)
Thursday 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm server time (CST)
Guild RBG/M+ cleanup (Optional) Mondays 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm server time (CST)
Raider Requirements Spring strives to create and maintain a positive and stable raid environment with low turnover. There are no recruits for the bench, we are recruiting players not classes. All raider members have value. Raiders should expect to received around 80% playtime.
Accountability: We all make mistakes and have sub-par play. Have the courage to admit your faults, communicate them properly, and strive to improve. Raiders are expected to maintain all relevant forms of player power: rep/great vault/expansion systems.
Integrity: Strive to do what you say you will and treat others as you would like to be treated. Your word is bond.
Teamwork: Each member of our roster shows a willingness to get along, to sacrifice for the good of the guild. No one player is guaranteed 100% playtime. A roster of about 24-26 must be maintained to allow for absences and comp needs. All raiders must be supportive of each other. The guild must always be united in a common goal.
Community: Our reason for playing retail is for the community. We get the most enjoyment from killing new bosses together in a team and people first atmosphere; however, we are not solely progression oriented. We are content with being the best 6 to 9 hour raid guild we can be, while demanding the best out of ourselves. If your goal is simply to progress or push ranks, this is not the guild for you. If you are looking for a long-term home, then you are welcomed and encourage to apply.

2023.03.31 16:59 PumpkinsR_Us Drove an hour for an interview just for them to reject me.
This is a small rant. I drove an hour for an interview yesterday. I applied and sent my resume in last week for the only job that pays $20/h and is only on weekdays near me. They called me and said that my resume indicates that I’m qualified for the position so we scheduled an interview. I got up at 5 a.m. and got ready for the interview. I got dressed up and arrived 15 minutes early. When I got there, they informed me that it was a group interview. So I waited with the group for 40 minutes. The interviewer brought us to a loud break room and had us fill out a small paper. The interviewer went over the job. The company lied on indeed. They pay by production, the scheduling was only for the weekends, and the 10 hr shifts were actually 12-16 hr shifts. At this point, I was still interested because it stills pays more than my current job by a good bit. The interviewer looked at my paper, asked me one question about my current job, then said that I wasn’t qualified for the position and that was it. I wasted 3 hours going to this place and I took off for the day so I could go to this interview. I’m quite infuriated. I lost $100, in gas and my hours, going to this interview. Why did they say I was qualified if they knew that they were going to reject me. God, the job market is trash near me. Most jobs near me in the south pay only $13-15/hr even with a bachelor’s degree. I’m still applying to places but every job I’ve applied to has 200+ other people applying. I can barely afford groceries on my current pay. I’m just thankful that my partner has a decent paying job right now and he’s more than willing to help support me.

hi guys! i don’t really care to get into big law (i may get my phd after law school and just use my law degree to help take care of myself financially) and i’m not really caring about any huge schools (they’re expensive, i’m a hard worker and i trust myself, plus i will most likely take an alternative route to my career bc that’s just who i am)
this may seem stupid, but i am from a deeply conservative family/place so my understanding of what i’ll be judged for can be warped (e.g. i was afraid i could never be a lawyer if i got a tattoo; now i know this is incorrect.)
my question is how do i need to curate my social media? i have an okay following in tiktok, where i post fashion. there is no mention of drug abuse, no slurs, or anything. but in some of these videos, i use trending songs, which curse and can use some cruder language. for example tyler, the creator’s new song: “she can ride my face i don’t want nothin in return/cept for some her time and all her love that’s my concern” was posted to my account and the video says “this song is not only beautiful but a mainstream artist actively using anti-misogynistic lyrics…” and so on. it’s a feminist commentary on the lyrics.
do i need to make sure i stop posting with all curse words / explicit songs? i also dress somewhat “provocatively” (crop tops, bralette tops, i’m 21 years old) and these outfits can be in my outfit check videos. i also am a female who has armpit hair which is visible on my public instagram profile. my parents have told me maybe someone would reject me for this. same thing with my septum piercing.
please give me some REAL advice! i’ve come to understand my parents’ view is very extreme and often not rooted in reality. but i need the community’s help to see things for what they are&ovetcome the biases of my childhood. thanks for shedding some truth on how free i am to express myself!

2023.03.31 16:56 carshopping2015 [Question] Groomsmen Gift Suggestion (Matching / Fashion Advice Welcome)
Hi all, I've quietly lurked this sub for a while as I've always appreciated watches and the fine engineering that goes into most automatic pieces. That said, I am getting married soon and would love your suggestion / confirmation for the watches that I've picked as a gift for my groomsmen!
About the guys:
- None wear a watch daily, but will wear one for the right activities (dress-up occasions, date night, etc.)
- Aren't going to think twice about the brand
- Most work an office job but like to get into outdoor activities
- All 5'10 - 6'2 white dudes with a comparable average build
From me:
- I'd like to give them a watch they can choose to wear with the suits on the wedding day
- I'd like to engrave the back of the watch or stamp their initials into the leather band
- I'd like to spend no more than $100-120 each... I recognize they may seldom wear the watch or some may wear it often, but I don't want to sink the money into a nice Seiko or Citizen when I know that they may not wear it. If they end up becoming watch enthusiasts, then that's an easy birthday gift when it comes up!
Here are my contenders (Amazon links for convenience, open to buying elsewhere):
- Fossil Neutra - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MM5MH6F/ (current favorite)
- Fossil Townsman - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MSLH7ZQ/
- Timex Southview - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079J38TJY/
- Timex Expedition - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0083XFHIG/
If you have something to suggest outside of these, please please PLEASE!
For the fashion advice... We're doing
light grey suits from SuitShop with brown leathers. Think
this look, (or
this one) but with different guys (and a little better fitted suits). I'd like the watch to match! The guys are all keeping their suits so I know at the very least, everyone has one outfit they can always wear the watch with.
Brown leather and a gray/smoke case should match, right?!
Thanks in advance! No comments please about why I should / should not gift watches, I understand the risks and why this is difficult to begin with :-) submitted by

2023.03.31 16:54 cakeyworm AITA for wanting my best friend to change her hair color?
I (f21) am getting married in October of this year (2023). The wedding is a nude/champagne/peach theme with ivory. The bridesmaid dresses i have picked out are a peach and terracotta silk dresses, they’re absolutely beautiful! However, my best friend (F21) has bright electric blue hair she just got done and paid a lot of money to get done and it just doesn’t match the color scheme of the wedding. At first i asked if she would consider changing her hair when the wedding gets closer (i even offered to help pay for it) and she straight up told me no. Then i offered to help buy her a high quality lace front wig just for the wedding and she said no again. She keeps insisting that i “just change the theme of my wedding” to match her hair but i’ve already spent a lot of money on deco, flowers, etc in peach, nude and terracotta. She normally doesn’t act like this and is usually very willing. We’ve been arguing about this for almost three months and now i’m debating if i should even have her in my wedding. She keeps saying that i’m being the asshole and selfish in this situation. pls help lol
