I am newer to Reddit, but not new to writing. Whilst I have taken a break for the last year or so on and off (partners dwindled and real life prevented stuff), I am back with time, and passion to get into something wonderful with the right person. So, I have started over and if we had connected before, please reach back out.
I have the capacity for a couple new partners, without neglecting my current ones. I prefer to keep posts like this small, quality over quantity right ;) I am about to be on a longish break from work, and at home for most of it, so have all the time in the world to get lost in something delicious.
Also, now that it is officially my favourite time of the year, I would love to get into something new based or at least, set around this time of year!
I am not replacing anyone, just have an abundance of time on my hands, that I could be using to partake in my favourite hobby. Writing!
I won't bore you with a long, rule baring post on things to do, and things I like. I find them dreary, and I would much prefer to spend the time discussing with my new potential partner, then have you read a list of demands. Never sure of the appeal of them to be honest.
That being said - there are a couple of rules I am a stickler for:

I have a lot of idea's knocking around, that I would love to build on. Nothing set in stone and interested in most genres APART FROM High Fantasy / Sci-Fi. I don't want to grab a reference book every time I want to reply. I would also love to hear your idea's too :)
The creative process is part of the fun for me, and I would love someone to get into the nitty gritty, in depth, out of character fun that comes with building something amazing.

So this dream was a transition from another dream, a stupid one at that, where my brother was pregnant and a charger gave birth for him. It starts in a train station during the Golden Age and a little girl with her father are walking towards a train, before a vampire comes up to them and attacks them, making his kind's first appearance in human history.
Time skip a bunch of decades later, there is a very edgy boy I'll name Ko that was recently assaulted by a very beautiful, tall appearance. He lives in a world similar to ours where secret societies of humans fight evil vampires and is shown writing very edgy messages on long bricks then dropping them on people passing by at night. Or maybe vampires. Ko is doing that from the 10th floor of a building belonging to this secret society, and there is an announcement from the HQ telling him to stop throwing fucking bricks out the window or they'll send backups. He then quickly runs in the hallway, where he meets a group of girls who debate on how to stop them vampires once and for all, and how there might be a traitor between them, in this building of anti-vampires. A new member walks up next to Ko and gives him a thick lock of her own precious long bright blue hair, which is said to repel vampires, saying he can find a way to stop this war. The group of girls turn their heads and beg Ko for at least one little strand of it. Again, Ko makes a run for it and finds his best friend. They brainstorm together ideas about how they could protect people from vampires using that fistful of hair, while remaining anonymous. Then they remember how grocery stores like Kaufland give kids small packages of collectable toys and pictures after every purchase of 50 dollars, so they decide to sneak that night in a factory that produces this stuff and cut up the strands of hair into pieces and put each of them in a bag, writing on the back of the packages that it's magical mermaid hair. The idea surprisingly works, and kids keep that stuff in their pockets.
Then there's a cut that shows us the royal family, where there is a quiet little prince who steals the hairs and uses them to fill up a ginormous fishbowl, knowing the true nature of the hair and also being terribly afraid of vampires, so he stocks up on that shit. Ko finds out and that kid is like "Oh, you got me. Take all these hairs except for like a dozen.".
In the last part of the dream there is a cut to a fight scene in a dark grocery store. A big middle-aged guy with a goatie is covered in blood and tries to talk sense into a tall, scarily beautiful vampire, saying that she can't go on like this forever and how she's been causing problems for centuries for fun. The woman smiles and hits him with the final blow. SHE TURNS OUT TO BE THE HQ OF THE ANTI-VAMPIRE GROUP!!

This is a long one. TLDR below.
I (24, F) recently moved to an area near family. I work from home and haven’t made the effort to meet new people so I’ve been pretty lonely. 2 weeks ago I just decided to go to a bar to check it out and maybe meet some people. I did, and at the end of the night I met this guy (32, M) on a bench outside. I was immediately drawn to him. He was calm, kind, quirky, and seemed to be very intelligent based on his vocabulary and the topics we talked about. He’s got a decent job, humble life, and even good looks (for me, at least). We talked for hours and went on a date the next day, and several more over the next 2 weeks. Each date has gone pretty well and usually ends with us talking until sunrise. Sexual chemistry has been great too.
Needless to say, we fell for each other… HARD. Always texting and sharing music throughout the day.
He works in the lively part of the small-ish town and knows pretty much everyone. I’ve met many of his friends and can see myself being friends with most of them too. Our dates are always in town and I love the area so he’s been showing me around, and showing me off to people.
Now I think I have the ick and it keeps growing more and more. It started when Guy started calling himself an old man and said he says that to people all the time. The list just keeps getting longer: he has this anxious energy that makes me feel unsafe/anxious, a high-pitched laugh that echos in my head, is always cold (we’re in FL, always asking to go outside to “warm [his] weary old man bones”), teeth never seem to be brushed, always has dry skin flakes in his haifacial hair, picks the dry skin off of his lips fairly obviously, and I noticed today that he also picks his face but out of nervousness and I find it disgusting (picking has always been an ick of mine). I also don’t feel like he could protect me since he has a scrawny look to him.
I feel bad for Guy, though. His past relationships sound awful (abuse, generally being taken advantage of) because he falls so hard that he will do anything for his s/o. I really do admire his intelligence and willingness to help. I want to help him through his (many) issues but also feel like it’s not my job, and if I continue dating him I might just be making things worse.
He tells me many times that I am too good for him and he always wonders why I am still choosing to date him. I do know I can do better, but do have genuine feelings for him and we connect on such a deep level.
My intuition tells me to stop seeing him, but I do really like most of everything about him. He says I make him the happiest he’s been in a long time. Then, the selfish side of me doesn’t want to ruin the friends I’ve made through him or have to start avoiding the area I’ve come to love.
TLDR: been dating this guy for 2 weeks and we have a great connection, mentally and physically, but his anxiousness makes me anxious and I’ve got the ick for many reasons. His past is full of hurt and says I make him happy.
I just don’t know what to do.

Yesterday I was going through my Steam queue and ended up on this game. The trailer only had to say "Procedurally generated murder mystery" and it had my full undivided attention. Everything else in this, from the living open world, to the "no handholding" gameplay approach was just a bonus.
This game scratches an itch that L.A Noire left me with. It was great, but each case was scripted and never changed which made replays less valuable. And most of the time the hardest you ever had to think was during the interrogations.
It does really hit differently when you yourself make all the decisions on how to proceed. Nothing tells you to go anywhere, and you might accidentally overlook something important as useless, but the game won't tell you that.
The only way for this game to go, is up. Keep on at it, devs!

My name's Vanessa. I'm 39 years old and I'm from Germany. I live close to the Dutch border. I have a 19 year old daughter who already moved out. I do not want to have any more children of my own. I recently posted here but I'm finding it very difficult to write something that will attract the right people. I'm gonna keep this brief and hit bullet points of what I'm dealing with legally with evidence to support my argument
I am currently in a mental health crisis. ASD undiagnosed until about 4 years ago this August. Mother, who is a vet, has gaslit me about my past and my father has as well. Caused friction between myself and all of my family (minus Liz my half sister and my grandfather RIP). When I was on my way for treatment, I gave her permission to get essentials. Knowing I was not in a great state, she took my passport and other forms of identification. She then proceeds to tell me because of my substance abuse history (Again i see a therapist and tried to get into a rehab program only to be denied because of ASD diagnosis) and that, "I thought I'd be at your funeral today." Now, I take full responsibility knowing i messed up. However I was, am, and continue to turn myself into the proper people in order to be better overall and smooth out the less than ideal side of me and get to a place where I can live my life freely. I have tons of debt, including 2 repos and 2 apartments with unpaid rent, and 40K in student loans. When I became homeless, she wouldn't let me stay with her in spite of the fact she also lost our home again to am electrical fire. Again i was not the most stable person to be around but I'll allow the you guys to give me sound advice. 3) Stay Tight
Staying tight, as it’s referred to in Brazilian jiu jitsu, will protect you from many submissions. Staying tight can mean a lot of thing but mostly what it means is that when you find yourself in bad position that you ball up. A good way to implement this rule is to remember to pull your limbs close to your body. Elbows should be tucked into your sides, knees tucked into your chest and chin held down to your sternum.
4) Find Your Comfort Zone
The rules listed above are good rules when it comes to simple body positioning. However, finding your comfort zone will do more to improve your defense than any other single approach. Finding your comfort zone means finding a position where you feel comfortable or safe. This could be on your back with your opponent in your guard or any other position. Wherever it may be, work on being very good at this position and have a variety of techniques you use to get back to this point. I've been working on my personal statement for months and months at this point. I've begun drafts, scrapped them, and restarted several times. In total, I've probably written about 20 pages while working on these drafts, but I keep running into the same issue. Basically, I think the best way to describe the issue I'm having is that I'm including way too much detail, but am struggling to condense things effectively. If I were still in school, I'd just go to the writing center - I feel as though I just need to talk through how I'm approaching things and get some 1:1 feedback and guidance. Does anyone have any experience or know of any other good resources? I've found some websites selling time w/ tutors online, but I'm unsure about them, especially given none seem to have experience in the field I'm applying to programs in. I'm typically able to organize and write very easily. It was always my strength in undergraduate and graduate school (I've completed 1 previous master's). It sort of scares me to be struggling so much w/ this personal statement, but it's a little different from the last one or other writing projects. I'm applying to clinical mental health counseling programs so that I can become a licensed L.P.C. So, compared to my previous personal statement when I was applying to doctoral and master's programs in clinical psychology, I don't need to focus a lot on research interests, experiences, or who I want to work with. I think part of what I'm having difficulty with is feeling unsure of what to focus in on. Any reccomendations would be appreciated!!

There are some Redditors downvoted my comment. I think, those people can't handle or experience what really it is like to not trusting people.
So disappointing. No wonder those people keep doing mistakes without knowing what others are up to.
At least, in my case, I put myself to a position to observe what people are doing in a moment, then assess what I have to do.

I've been an avid fan of the series for as long as I can remember and I've rewatched it countless times.

P.S. in the 5x12 Long Term Parking script, the writers orignally wrote that Phil was supposed to be crying. My Estimation of Phil Leotardo as a Man Just Plummeted. Background: I've walk-jogged a dozen half-marathons at 15 min/mile pace, and still consider myself a beginner. I'm very, very overweight, in my mid-30's, with achilles tendonitis...and (foolishly?) signed up for a full marathon in Spring 2024 because I wanted to kick myself in the butt towards losing weight and getting into a regular workout schedule. I'm grateful to have a good friend who is a runner and who inspired me to do my first half marathon a few years ago. With their guidance, and a lot of research/experimentation on my own, I feel pretty confident about my path forward in most aspects, except for shoes. Shoe purchases were always determined by what fit, felt good, and were on sale at the local sporting goods store. Nike, Saucony, Asics, various styles. I would basically just buy a pair 4-5 months before a race, train in them, do the race, and then just keep them as casual walking shoes. Now that I'm looking at a marathon though, I'm getting oddly more anxious the more I read up and wanted to ask for y'all's advice.
Feet: high arches, wide width. Men's 9.5 2E. Hot spots after some, but not all, past races were blisters on balls of feet under big toes and along the outside ball of foot for the 2-3" under pinky toes. (Blisters usually coincided with when I wasn't sticking to training, so I don't necessarily blame the shoes.) Wear pattern on shoes - heels always look like new, but outside balls of feet get worn down until holey and pinky toes often rub through fabric uppers.
Training Plan:
- Phase 1: 10 weeks, average 15 miles/week of 2-5mi runs to build up from mostly walking to mostly jogging a 5k.
- Phase 2: 28 weeks of marathon training, average of 10 miles/week walk-jogging, longest run is 13 miles.
- Phase 3: last 8 weeks of marathon training, average of 32 miles/week, with long runs between 15-20 miles.
- I plan on having 2 pairs of shoes at any given time. 1 pair to do marathon training in, and 1 pair for walking/cross-training. I need help finding the marathon training shoes.
Questions:
- Since I'm big, walk-jogging, and will be going at a slower pace (mid-teens), should I be looking at a walking shoe to get the cushion and support I need since I feel like I squish flat/rub through running shoe support pretty quickly (like closer to 200-250 miles than the 300-500 mile figure I read about.)
- I've heard that insoles can be a cheap way to add more support (high arches) and cushion (I'm putting a lot of force on my feet). What are your thoughts/do you use them? I've tried Dr. Scholl's gel inserts just in regular walking shoes, but they seem too unstable/squidgy. Are foam ones betterecommendations?
- Are custom orthotics worth it?
- Should I buy two of the same shoe and wear 1 for the first 2/3rds of training and the 2nd pair the last 33% of training?
- Besides Saucony Triumphs, what other shoes would y'all recommend for heavy people with wide feet and high arches?
- I'm trying to stick to a $300 marathon shoe budget (2 pairs x $110 training shoes + 2 pairs x $40 cross-training shoes). Is that reasonable?

I am going through a hard time letting go of a past relationship, she is my FP we are still in contact. I still love her and she doesn’t seem to completely want to be out of my life but she did have a lot of moments when she said she hated me in the beginning when we broke up because she is also dealing with her own mental illness, and like we were forced to cohabit a small space for a long time after. This happened way before i knew i had bpd, so i was at such an extreme for a minute, it makes sense why all her love turned to hate, i kept hurting her because i couldn’t self regulate. I don’t hold anything against her, i just can’t help but get so overwhelmed on how alone i feel in my house now. I feel like constantly distracting myself from thinking about how much i miss her. I was recently diagnosed with BPD a few months ago, i have been reading, exercising and just reworking my thoughts but I can’t stop thinking of hurtful things and scenarios. Anyone else feel like they keep relapsing after a good moment where they feel ok?
