My strategy:

1. I aim for minimalistic libraries, which do not enforce their choices on me. For example, I do not want web framework to dictate me which templating I must use.
2. I prefer small and tested stuff. I look at code coverage % and LOC.
3. If there are several competing products, I pickup better documented one.
4. If there is huge difference in dependency LOC - for example 5M vs 1M - I go with smaller one, overriding #3.
5. I do not care if library I pick is popular or not.
6. I really do not like kitchen-sink style libraries - attempting to do too much things at once, their documentation is often lacking and they need more understanding how are several their parts linked together. From my experience, I spend too much time dealing with framework itself and not writing my code.
7. no-std is bonus. #webasm
8. I avoid libraries without readme and without link to repository. Too much work with locating the repo and bookmarking.
9. Badges in readme are plus - quick overview (LOC, Coverage, download counts, ...)

So, possible slight spoiler, but the good place neighborhood has no cars in it. The only person to get or use a car is the worst guy in the show (season 3 or 4). When the car shows up to pick him up, Eleanor is obviously surprised and pissed that he'd have a car there.

Hello people! I'd like to check with you guys for possible ways my plan could backfire real bad. This will probably get min-maxy, but it's not taboo at my table.
Consider the situation: My party might have to kill a very sus level 5 paladin(has the stats of a player) who is usually well guarded, and I'm in a position to ask for a one-on-one type of meeting. Thing is, I'm a level 4 wizard, and at this level picking a fight with him is not a great idea. Smites are scary. However, very soon we reach level 5, so here's my idea:
- I'm a level 4 custom lineage divination wizard, I got fey touched at level 1 and lucky at level 4 for feats, so my INT mod is +4. I have hold person, I use it to enable crits for my party, but now I'm actually thinking of picking scorching ray at level 5 just for this. I also have Silvery Barbs.
The strat: Take advantage of my situation to ask for the one-on-one meeting on the day I get 2 very low rolls for my portent dies. I intend to cast hold person on the paladin, and every time he passes a saving throw, I use my reaction to cast silvery barbs to force a reroll, and I use portent to switch the reroll to one of the low rolls. This should give me 2 guaranteed turns of hold person, and most likely 3-4 turns.
Now all that's left is walking towards the paladin and casting scorching rays at 3rd level. Considering the paladin has 20 AC, which seems reasonable by his gear(his only magic item is a sword, I checked with detect magic), that would mean I hit him with a 13 on the dice.
Due to paralyzed state from hold person, I have advantage on attack rolls against the paladin, and don't receive disadvantage on ranged attacks, and every hit is a crit. Using a DPR calculator, I have an average of 36 DPR in that situation by casting scorching ray at 3rd level, so the paladin will be down in two turns at best.
I have gift of alacrity from fey touched and luck points, so even if my DM doesn't grant me surprise from the sudden attack, I'm almost certainly going to go first. Ideally I would stand far enough so he has to dash to catch me in the worst case scenario, but I don't have too much control over the meeting spot. Still, I don't think he'll be able to kill me through my luck points.
I realize I could die if I roll incredibly bad, but I'm willing to risk it because the chance of success seems almost guaranteed, and it would be a really cool move. So now I ask you guys, is there something I'm not seeing? Does a paladin have any feature or strategy at level 5 that would allow them to avoid this combo? The tricky part is I don't know his subclass, so consider everything!
btw, my items are a spider staff and a hat of wizardry, not very useful here. I will of course use detect magic to check out whether the paladin got new gear at the spot, and if yes I'll abort the plan.

I need your opinion about my situation because at this moment I feel all over the place and I don’t know what to think. I (25F) was deeply in love with a man (33M) who firstly was my long time friend (7 years) and then we caught feelings. He was my safest space when we were friends but once we became more than friends he started acting very inconsistent, on and off, then he would dissapear but then would always find excuses, always played a victim and everytime I forgave and forgave because I truly loved him unconditionally. after 4 years of on and off, I want to mention that he never called me his girlfriend, I was a friend and we had a special, one of a kind connection. The connection and bond was really special and deep, very powerful and the understanding we had with each other was till this day exceptional for me. He said the same that he had no person in his life who understood him as much as I did and that he trusted that much. Everytime I asked him what was the problem, if we had very intense sexual chemistry, soul connection, friendship, understanding, great fun together, what was the problem of starting a relationship. He would answer me that he was afraid of losing me and in the past he has hurt and lost every woman he was in a relationship with and that he is “sick”. I still encouraged him to just try and to not be afraid and we agreed to be more than friends but we hadn’t labelled the relationship. That time I spent 1 month in the country he was living we became closer and closer, would hang out every day and it was just magical, everything was perfect, the comfort and harmony we shared with each other. It was obvious that apart of having understanding of each other as friends on such a deep level for years, it was even more comfortable when we were together, cuddling and sharing love. After a month he confessed in his feelings to me and told me he was deeply in love with me and that he was grateful that I was patient enough with him. It was a long distance relationship, and we agreed that he would visit me for 2 weeks in August. before August he had to visit his hometown for a month and during this whole month he never called me. Ever. Just liked my pictures and replied to my stories, not even texted me how was I doing. As I knew about his commitment fears and attachment fears I tried my best to have understood him but his behaviour was still hurting me. When 3 weeks passed and he never initiated a call I called him and told him that the lack of communication we had was very much hurting me and that I didn’t think it was normal, and I asked him if there was anything he wanted to talk about because I felt change in his attitude. He answered that everything was the way it was, his feelings for me haven’t changed and he is looking forward to visiting me. It was just he was spending time with his friends and family and didn’t want to spend much time on his phone. He became more attentive after that talk, he would text me in every 3–5 days but still never called and the texts were very dry. I kept soothing myself by remembering that he was planning to come visit me in August and use all his vacation days to spend with me. So I didn’t want to make a scene or make it difficult, so I waited. And 2 weeks before he had to visit me he called me and told me that he can’t make it for 2 weeks because his parents are moving to another home and he needs to fly back to his hometown and help them and so he will only visit me for 4–5 days. I told him that I feel really frustrated and that he never keeps his word, he never finds time for me and I never feel prioritized and I told him I had to go to sleep because I had work early. In reality I never slept I felt so crushed and hurt. I never for a second believed that there was no way and that he and to help his parents. The next day he called me once and I didn’t pick up the phone, I was still very mad and didn’t even know what I wanted to say because I clearly didn’t feel like I wanted him to visit me anymore. After 2 weeks I reached out to him and explained that I was not intending abandoning or ghosting him, I just needed some time for healing and was still not ready to talk and maybe it would have been better if both of us would think about everything, what we need and want and then talk about it in person. I told him that I would fly to his city in a month and we can talk everything through not over the phone but in person. Before visiting his city I texted him how he was and if he was in the city. He said that he was ok and yes he is there. Then I told him that I booked my flights during these dates and then he never responded. When I arrived there I called him and he hung up the phone once he heard my voice and completely ignored me. I wrote to him a letter where I told him that I saw my part in all of this and tried to own my actions and apologize way earlier, however he never gave me a chance. He never responded to my message. And now I have that feeling that everything is blamed on me, as if I am viewed as a monster in all black who is not to be trusted and at all costs avoided. It kills my heart to think that, because all these years I was always forgiving, supportive, empathetic, loving and only once I slipped and shut down emotionally. Again because the way he was acting, making me feel like the last priority, it was always about his needs but never mine and now he is acting as if everything’s my fault and I’m toxic. Especially after I apologized for my behaviour he started sharing some posts on instagram how manipulative some people are and how snakes will apologize when they don’t get their way. It’s killing me inside and I feel total agony because I never intended manipulating him nor do I think I am a snake, nor toxic. This behaviour of mine, shutting down and ignoring him for 2 weeks was immature, I totally take responsibility and would never do it again but compared to all the things he has done over the years not seeing his role is just unexplainable to me. He had many toxic relationships before and always talked how his exes hurt him and how they were all toxic. Either this is true and as he is traumatized from relationships he is too cautious and easily triggered and defensive, or his exes were never a problem and never crazy. He cut me off completely without a single word, all this. years of friendship and love was just crossed like that.
Please tell me your thoughts. Am I really toxic? Or am I normal?

So, I was inspired this year to pick up Mage 20th and actually try running Mage. Prior to this I had actually played in an Ascension game of some stripe, but I was the new guy at the tail end of a campaign so a lot didn't sink in. And then new lines launched, and I played some Awakening.
But I definitely didn't want *that* setting for this campaign.
But that has left me trying to figure out how Mage works based on Mage 20... (so that I can, for example, help my players understand what they can and can't do) and it's not easy.
So. Thanks to my plot (they've encountered something that falls squarely into the Extra-Dimensional Entity bucket that is supernaturally infectious/corrupting), one of my players asked me about using their Dimensional Science 3 to protect against that.
Now, logically, Dimensional Science seems like the right Sphere to provide some kind of defensive countermeasures against an EDE wearing you like a glove. (It's not even like it's Spirit, where one can argue the main point is to use spirits to do stuff; as I understand it, the Void Engineer philosophy revolves around combatting EDEs, not making friends with them)
"How Do You Do That" lays out things like Wards and Minor Wards and whatnot, but they all have pre-requisites from other Spheres (Prime, Correspondence, Life, sometimes Matter). So that's mostly a long list of mechanical effects the PC definitely cannot do. (they do have Data, but not 4/4)
(no, I'm not actually running a Technocracy Agents game, the PC in question is just a very materialistic Virtual Adept, but frankly there's been at least one NPC who was outright surprised to discover this PC wasn't actually a Void Engineer)

So. With Data 3 and Dimensional Science 3, what can you do about about an EDE (or, more accurately, many such EDEs) that infects, corrupts, and assimilates people?

So I'm a 24 year old male and I live in a small town in Illinois. I currently still live with my parents. Yes I have a job. I also pay them $350 a month in rent. I pay for my own groceries, gas, car insurance, and even pay for the streaming services that we all use. But that stuff isn't important to this story/question.
So for those of you who live in Illinois or know someone living in Illinois chances are you know that this state sucks. With the current buffs on PBE, I'd like to recommend this 3QE5 route I've kept using which should be more balanced now than it ever was.
Putting 3 points in Q and then maxing E allows us to hit a sweet spot.

• E will be maxed at level 10, which is ideal for midgame skirmishes and picks. If we put 4 points in Q instead, E max will be delayed until level 12 due to level 11 being required for R. This may not seem significant, but that's a few minutes that can make a big difference.
• Q is still a better investment than E as a max early in most cases, especially with how E has been buffed (its damage increase is based on champion level).

With this in mind, 3QE5 allows us to smooth things out without losing too much damage while maximizing mobility during early skirmishes, roams, and power spikes.

So this is practically a two-mana Ancient Stirrings for us with a decent chance for some upside, depending on the abilities the flipped creature has. Since it specifies permanents, a single copy in-hand can chain through multiple copies to go deep for something we need, something even Stirrings can't do. Plus hey, it can grab Thragtusk and similar if they ever come back in style! As a slight bonus, it can also reduce Emrakul TPE's mana cost if it hits the yard. Walking Ballista can also directly ping battles, so there's that.
On the other hand, it's not often we're attacking into someone when we're not already winning, though again, it might be worth it if the flip creature has a clutch ability. It only misses Stirrings, Scrying, and also cards like Warping Wail and All is Dust. And of course, there's the pressing question of what to cut to make room for them, if anything at all.
All of that said, this card has real potential for G Tron. There's a decent chance that this ends up playable, and likely in multiples. Since it's rare, I'm not waiting to pick up a playset, especially since this is the kind of card that Commander players will come to love as well.
