Before anything, I'd like to mention the obvious. I'm not acting out on any of these fantasies, nor do I plan to. I'm a 110lbs 5'5ft girl so you can imagine it would take a lot for me to actually hurt someone lol.
Anyways, I just have to get this off my chest. I'm 25, and I've been having violent thoughts for years. It started when I was about 15/16; I'd walk trough my school and have really violent dark fantasies of the things I'd do to everyone there, it has led to disassociation twice, where I could literally see myself walk trough the hallway as if I was looking trough camera behind me. I also used to be obsessed with mass killers & true crime shit, it got me kicked out of school because they were worried.
The dark thoughts became less bad when I was around 19? until I was 22-23 ish. I've always liked true crime, slasher movies, and all those things, but the idea of actually doing something myself was not there during that time.
Then around 22-23, I entered therapy for some other unrelated stuff. I also told my therapist that I constantly think about death, murder, and violence, but she never actually followed up on it, I figured it wasn't that serious to begin with then.
The thoughts come and go like waves, sometimes it's there in the background, sometimes it's an obsession. Lately it's really bad again, I think not only about men hurting me (eventually killing me) but also about hurting people myself. Again I wouldn't do this. But I'm obsessed with the idea of it. Sometimes I look at women and imagine what it would be like to hurt them and watch them bleed. Or I hope that I meet a guy who is violent and abuses/attacks me. I'm not sure if this is like trauma related, or some kind of twisted kink, or whatever really.
On another note; I'm not depressed or suicidal etc. I've had depression from when I was about 14 until I was 21, but I really do enjoy life now. I have a great job and a great relationship.
I just had to get this off my chest because the thoughts are so consuming and I've never had someone to talk with about all of this.

You never realize what reminders will pop up after you lose a pet. Pip passed away a little over 5 weeks ago. This current wave started with the slow accumulation of finding her fur everywhere. Even clean sheets folded up somehow had a clump of her fur in it I honestly can’t comprehend how. When she passed I deleted her account on chewy and explained that she had passed, but I guess somehow they still sent a birthday card. Dark humor, kinda made me laugh. But then I lost it. Sending hugs to anyone dealing with life after the shock has lifted. Someday I know I will love these reminders because they’ll be reminders of someone I loved so much.. but right now it’s just reminding me off that great loss.

I don't believe I've seen anyone post about fasting (such as one meal a day) on here. I've recently begun trying one meal a day. After an initial calibration phase my body seems to have adjusted and now it's not painful to do without breakfast or lunch. One of the major sources of over consumption in Western society is our consumption of food. I used to have the feeling that I was ravenously hungry to the point of not being able to function if I was an hour or so late to a meal. I used to think I was hypoglycemic and might pass out if I didn't eat a meal. But in a very short period of time I seem to have changed something inside my body such that now I experience hunger as a sensation rather than a need. I believe I'm going to try a multi-day fast sometime in the next few months because I want to explore this understanding of hunger versus actual need for food.
Anyway I just wanted to bring it up because it seems pretty related to anti-consumption. The feeling that we have to eat at regular intervals causes us to in many cases consume from restaurants expensive and excessive meals because it's time to eat. Furthermore the feeling that you have to consume food three times a day, while not necessarily implying excessive food consumption, just based on my own observation and what I've understood from listening to fasting perspectives I think it generally does encourage over consumption of food. I'm not a medical expert but from what I understand people are saying that eating regularly which means almost non-stop when it comes down to it keeps your body in a position where it's seeking carbohydrates to burn constantly and that interplays with feelings of hunger thus encouraging you to eat and eat and eat. When you acclimate to fasting something happens which I can feel happening to my body where you become more aware of the energetic content of the food you've eaten and you kind of feel your body consuming that food and when it's truly time for more.

I'm an absolute newbie to this topic and have just started with my first mushroom culture on grains. I soon want to peek into pouring agar and stuff though and was recently comparing petri dishes. In doing so, I came across petri dishes with three tiny air vents.
This made me think whether you could just cover these vents with micropore tape and then inject an LC right through them to avoid having to use a SAB and generally opening the petri dish a second time after the agar pouring and thus further reducing the risk of contamination.
Does this make any sense, what do you think? And generally, do you use / prefer vented petri dishes or the ones without vents?

28 years ago March 31st 1995, the state of Texas lost a rising star, the queen of tejeno, the Mexican American Madonna. At 11:48am on March 31st Selena ran for help from the hotel room after being shot. Selena managed to make it to the lobby but unfortunately Selena passed away leaving the world to wonder why? Why was this amazing voice gone? We as Selena fans have to remember this day in honor of her. She had so much and gave so much to her community. What does Selena mean to you in your life and why ?

I figured this day would come inevitably, but for starters I guess you could say I'm fairly new to retail. I started working at two separate retail shops at an undisclosed mall within the past year after working too many years in fast food. Needless to say, the pay isn't great and having to sell my soul for customers to sign up for loyalty programs is grating to say the least, but it's better than my previous jobs and it hasn't been the worst to manage yet.
One of the jobs I work at is your standard crystal/jewelry store that's bound to be at any mall. All things considered, working here hasn't been too bad and management treats the employees extremely fairly. Something we do deal with a lot (especially since it's a big mall) is theft, mostly from teenagers who probably could just ask their parents for money if they weren't so hell bent on proving to everyone around them how cool they are for stealing a $16 ankle bracelet. A little specific? Well, that's precisely what happened today.
For the most part, our company doesn't allow us to get too involved when it comes to stealing. We're told to be overly kind to the point of bothersome. Aside from that, all the shops on our floor are very communicative about theft, so if someone is stealing and going straight for the door without returning our merchandise, we're allowed to take photos of them to share with mall security as well as other shops that can actually have a more hands on approach to preventing theft. We also have a personal work related app with a chat system, so most of the time we drop pictures there to communicate with other associates to keep an eye out for specific customers who have stolen from our stores.
Today, three teenage girls showed up in our shop. My coworker and I had a bad feeling when they came in because they were carrying one plump bag that seemed to be stuffed with various things, but also they went straight for our biggest blind spot (at least from the registers' perspective): the jewelry towers. Usually when we're dealing with theft, people like to camp there and grab things off the tower and anything surrounding it.
These girls came in quick and spent some time there. I personally don't enjoy kissing customers' asses normally, so like hell I was going to kiss some kids' asses while they were stealing material bullshit they didn't actually even need. Plus, the manager on duty was in the bathroom, so instead I went over to our incense table and started fixing things while keeping an eye on them. It wasn't the best spot, but I figured they'd get the hint if they saw I was keeping them within eye view. This is when I heard one of them say, "F*ggot," presumably at me. They all then proceeded to giggle about it, and I made my way over to my coworker to inform them and to confirm our suspicions.
I ended up changing my location to the front entrance. I pulled out my phone and looked at them very pointedly. The shop isn't very big, so they knew I moved to look specifically where the blind spot was exposed. They very quickly made their way from the jewelry tower to the front entrance, leaving the store with whatever they grabbed. I walked over to where they were standing and noticed that they indeed tore (specifically) an ankle bracelet from the packaging and threw it carelessly onto the bottom platform of the tower. Usually when we find this stuff, we have to mark it as theft and throw it in a bin, and as I walked to the back counter behind the registers to label it, I see them walk past our entrance again in the opposite direction from where they left.
Quickly, I pulled out my camera on my phone and hurried over to the entrance to take a quick photo of them walking a bit farther in the distance. It wasn't a great photo, but I figured it was at least something I could show security and my work chat once I made a report. Plus at the time, they had come in and called me a homophobic slur, so even if it was only one thing I found that they visibly stole, they needed to be reported regardless for harassing staff.
This is when they turn around and spot me.
Most of the time, this is the thief's queue to probably exit the mall, but as I made my way back to the registers inside to make my report, within 5-6 minutes, the three girls come back into our store yelling, "Why the fuck did you take pictures of us? That's mad fucking weird, you're fucking weird! Why'd you take pictures of us?"
I've never really dealt with situations like this, so I was taken a bit aback. I don't really remember exactly what my face was doing, but I definitely remember letting out a very tired laugh because of course today would be the day I'd get jumped at my job by a some teenagers trying to act tough.
I remember looking at my coworker, smiling and asking them to call security, and as I said that, I turn to see these kids walking closer (definitely trying to seem intimidating) and saying, "Go ahead, fucking call them! Fucking call mall security!"
Thankfully my coworker backed me up by grabbing the empty packaging of the item they stole and yelled, "Yeah, I WILL," and followed up with, "Now get OUT of our fucking store."
Once they saw that we actually had evidence of them shop lifting, (plus I'm assuming with the knowledge security would be coming and we had their photos) they must have gotten scared because they started to back up towards the entrance, but not before one of them yelled, "You're just upset because you're a fat bitch," at my coworker.
Then as they all turn around to leave, the other two once again yell and call us f*ggots and left the store for good.
Conclusion?
Well, we did call mall security. They sent some dude over who looked at the photos, took a photo on his phone to (I'm assuming) share with the rest of mall security, then asked us a series of questions mostly involving, "Are you going to contact the cops?" No. "Do you want the items back?" Obviously. ect, then left to do their mall cop thing.
They kept coming in and out informing us that they "had eyes on them" and that we could charge them with trespassing (1 year ban from the mall) or have them escorted out, but none of it actually mattered in the end because they inevitably somehow "lost sight of them."

Like, what is the point of you showing off your rank to shut someone up?

Everywhere I seem to fly I get confronted by someone. I’m always flying I a public space that I know for sure is legal. Today some guy on his bike flicked me off and said no drones! Meanwhile there isn’t a single sign where it says I can’t fly.
It’s becoming more regularly people are telling where I can’t fly anymore, and it’s becoming not so fun anymore. Our city is starting to ban drones everywhere, so finding places to fly is becoming super hard. I absolutely love drones but I’m thinking of selling it because of how hard it is becoming to fly as a hobbyist.
What are your thoughts on this? I am a photographer who just wants to take pictures with a drone.

I'm going to my first ever concert ever. Beastie Boys Hello Nasty Tour at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio. Opening was Rancid which 2 weeks before the show I just bought their album "Life Won't Wait" so I'm pretty pumped! Rancid comes on and puts on the best show that has been a core memory in my head than can be replayed at any moment. Beastie Boys (another staple till death) came on did an awesome show as well. After the show Beastie Boys immediately ran to their tour bus and left the premises. Saw a huge group of people around talking and taking pictures with Tim Armstrong with Lars passed out in the grass surrounded by what looks like 30 aluminum beer cans scattered around him. It got to my turn to say thank you for the awesome show (another core memory) and I asked if I could take a picture with him with my Kodak disposable, Tim says "only if you flick off the camera with me" and so I did, I remember developing the picture at walmart then taking it to school with me the next day to show it off. Since then I been a huge fan of Rancid and have had the most loyalty and respect for them for not running away from their fans. Making 17yrd old me feel so cool/awesome for even chatting and taking a picture with me. I absolutely love the Beastie Boys still (r.i.p. adam yauch) but since that night in 1998 Rancid gained my respect/loyalty greatly for being so down to fucking earth. Since then I realized how down to earth punk bands are in comparison to any other genre.

Q1: I don’t know if it is just me or not but this set of verses is sometimes what I have problems with in modern churches. The boastfulness seems very overt sometimes. How have you overcome this issue, if it is an issue, in your own lives?
Q2: What does it look like to give with your right hand without your left hand know what you are doing? This seems different that what Paul says in 2 Corinthians 9:7 “7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
Q3: I have never participated in a fast but these readings have intrigued me. This reading is telling me not to be boastful about it and to carry on with business as usual. For those that have participated in a fast what has this looked like for you?

Hi guys , my old PC : Mobo ( MSI B450 A-PRO ) CPU ( Ryzen 5 3600 + PBO on ) GPU ( GTX 1060 6gb dual fan OC with afterburner ) PSU ( BeQuiet 450w 80 plus )
Did not wanted to start or when it does it shuts off or freezes when it's bumped ( if it starts I can do whatever I want normally ) last time it booted up I has to update gpu drivers , after restart from windows it shutted off and did not wanted to start again , pressing the start button or starting it with screw driver by putting it on the pins did not work at all , no sign of power at all , i tried to test it with the clip in 14 & 15 port , it worked , the fans spin , after that I gave it to PC service for check or repair , they told me it doesn't turn on at all , they also said they tried other psu and removed the mobo from the case since it DID NOT had standoffs , so I bought new mobo and new case ( I did put standoffs myself ) and everything is fine I putted my GPU , CPU , Cooler and ram from my old pc but I'm kinda scared to put this PSU because it's 80+ ( white sticker not gold , bronze ot etc ) even tho they told me my psu works fine and they test it using psu tester , would it be alright to use this psu ? ( I think my old mobo died since it didn't had standoffs and had connection with the metal case )

When does monthly savings stop making sense?
I have for several years saved a comfortable amount of my paycheck into index funds for long-time savings. At one point I inherited a great amount of money, which I have placed in a diversified portfolio recommended by a financial advisor.
The amount of money I have invested usually fluctuates more from day to day than what I am able to save per month from my paycheck.
My question is therefore: does it make sense to keep spitting money into my portfolio from my paycheck, when the difference is barely visible on the portfolio, but very visible on my spending account?

I (31M) have quite a large family. My mother has 3 brothers and my father has 2 brothers and 3 sisters, each one of them is either married or divorced and has at least 1 children. Most of them live in the same town I live but one of my cousin, Martha (32F) lives on the other side of the country. I used to get along with my cousin but she distanced herself from her parents over 10 years ago and now she has a job that keeps her very busy, so I basically met her only once or twice in the past 10 years. We call each others at least once a month.
I have been dating Laura (30F) for the past 6 months. She is a wonderful woman and, until recently, we had never argued before. She knows my parents and my sister and, in the same way, I only met her parents and her brother.
Last Saturday something happened: I woke up to a phone call from Martha. She told me that she was on a working trip and would pass by my town that morning and told me we could take a coffee together and chit chat for a bit if I was free. I agreed and we met that morning. Nothing particular happened. I was happy to meet her after a long time, we talked for a bit, hugged and parted.
That afternoon I was supposed to pick up Laura for dinner, so I went back home, prepared and went to pick her up.
When I arrived at her house, she basically blew up on me, accusing me of cheating. I didn't know what she was talking about so she showed me her phone. Apparently Lucia, one of Laura friend, saw me with my cousin, took a photo of us hugging and sent it to Laura and she thought Martha was a woman I was cheating with.

I am 19m and I am physically very active, I go to the gym and play a lot of sports, I don't smoke don't vape and drink alcohol only occasionally. I had a problem with porn addiction due to finding it really early in life (10yr) and I am used to mastrubating 2-3 times a day.

I am just wondering if i should sign on as an inspector or a sergeant in the police force? I have keen interest in the Police Force, as it aligns with my values of portecting the weak; safeguarding and protecting Singapore from all kinds of threats. I have an ambition of becoming a Police Officer since i was a kid and i am also on top of that looking for a long term and progressive career in the SPF.
Just a little background about myself, i am currently turning 23 soon, now working full time at VFS Global, processing 🇨🇦🇺🇸 visas and also studying part time degree at SUSS with a Bachelor in Business, with a minor in Criminology at the same time, about 2.5- 3 years to go more to graduate. I have ORDed in Feb 2022, served in SAF MINDEF as a Combat Medic, wanna know more from you guys abt the SPF careers, as my background and NS is from the Army only. I need a stable, progressive career and also doing what i love most. I have applied for the inspector at SPF but got rejected.
Can i even still join SPF as a inspector when i am doing part time degree? How do i know that i am shortlisted for an interview with the SPF? What are your advices?

Typically when we take a Fourier transform in 2D, we sample over a uniform grid. For this app I was wondering about nonuniform samplings, in particular those that can be defined by a parametric curve. I was interested in the case of a space-filling spiral, and about what sorts of artifacts might arise.
For 2D plots like you would expect from imshow in Matlab or Python, I was previously drawing each pixel as a rectangle on a canvas. However I realized that this should be more computationally intensive than sizing the canvas based on the pixel count and editing each pixel directly, so for this app I made a new PlotGrid library that does this. I will probably go back and apply it to older apps to see if I can free up enough computation time to increase the plot resolutions so that they look better.

We have some weird stuff going on, and I'm not sure how to proceed. Would appreciate some advice.
I have a parent who died a few months ago in a rural county in the US. My parent's attorney at the time seemed good, although my parent had complained about response times. For context, my sibling and I are thousands of miles away and the estate has no creditors or debtors. There is a complication on the real estate side, but the personal property side is pretty straightforward.
One of the reasons we felt this lawyer would be good was because they have a lot of influence in the county and knew the judge (they had actually been a judge, but had been removed from the bench for anger issues). Forebodingly, we've had non-legal professionals involved with the various pieces ask us not to tell our lawyer something they said, because they were afraid of reprisals (we did not experience this until the process was pretty far along).
So we stayed with this lawyer for probate. Unfortunately, my parent was right - we would send in materials and go weeks without even an acknowledgment that it had been received. We would call and get no call back for a week, and then get a two hour late evening phone call that got us effectively nowhere. When we did get contact, we were told, among other things, that the judge would need to approve every single sale of anything that had ever been titled, including a $500 trailer - which would cost more in legal fees than it would make. This approval, we were told, would have to be done after a signed sales agreement, meaning any buyer would have to wait 2 weeks for judge approval. Obviously, no estate handler was willing to sign this, and they all said this was extraordinary and unusual. When we re-read the will and asked about it the clause stating that no personal property was to go before a judge, we were told, ok - maybe we can get pre-approval from the judge after all. It was all very strange. I realized toward the end that I had never been told the lawyer's hourly rate, and that we had never seen any parameters around our working relationship.
Eventually, the lack of responsiveness and unprofessionalism got us to the point where we decided we needed to seek other representation. The lawyer at this point had already suggested that maybe that's what would work best, so we hoped it would not be seen as something anger-inducing.
Since then, we've called multiple different attorneys within a 50 mile radius. It all starts off with "we think we can do this" and then either a follow up "no" or a black hole of silence. (The next-to-last guy just didn't respond for two weeks, so we didn't know if we actually had a lawyer or not.) It's happened 4-5 times now, so it's starting to feel more than coincidental. We've been without any movement forward - including permission to hold an estate sale - for about 6 weeks.
So we're trying to figure out what's going on. Is this normal in the legal profession, or are we being messed with by Boss Hogg? What is the best way to handle this?
