Hello /homelab,
I was recently gifted my companies "old" Netbackup appliance, if its not obvious from the title it is the Symantec NetBackup 5230 model, identical to the one in this video and this one.
Essentially I have never used a dedicated storage appliance in my homelab. All of my proxmox nodes have local storage and I use ZFS for migrations and what not. Probably not ideal, but hey, thats what homelabs are for, right?
Anyways, so it did come with 2 disk shelves but limited space only really allowed me to take the appliance portion and not the shelves themselves. I am hoping that the appliance can still function without the shelves. If not, well I am sure someone here will let me know.
Firstly, I would like to try and reset this thing to factory setting but I am not sure how. Some of the documentation, here and here, this last one is VTrack so not sure if thats the same model or not. Anyways! It looks like it can be done from the WebUI/GUI but I don't think I have local credentials to get access. Could this be done from the IPMI interface? Or some other portion of the appliance?
Secondly, and depending on if the first can be done - I would love to install TrueNAS Scale on this, again not sure if possible or not but ideally I would like to try and move away from the proprietary Veritas/Symantec system and use TrueNAS given its open-source nature.
So, any links to documentation, insight or help in getting this thing somewhat operational would be great. Of course if a majority of people chime in and say "This is a hunk of shit" then I will take you word for it and make sure it goes to e-waste.

Hey, I am setting up a 10 gal betta tank. I looked and you didn’t have any beginner resources so I am posting here to ask.
What will I need to grow plants in this tank? I already know heater and filter for betta.
1- I want a low lying ground cover “carpet” plant, but I read not to get seeds. What plant should I look for as a carpet plant?
2- What substrate will I need?
3- Do I need a special light to make plants grow?
I am not a technical person so please dumb this down for me. Thank you!

Just tried installing the mods through the installer and im not getting the same mods the guides are saying. I'm getting:
1) Community Patch (v 114)
2) Vox Populi (v 16)
3a) VP - EUI Compatibility files (v 1)
4a) Promotion Icons for VP (v 6)
4b) UI Promotion Tree for VP (v 22)
Is this a change that the guides haven't been updated with or do I need to reinstall? Also if this is right do I use one of 4a or 4b and not both?

Is this a psychiatric issue or some form of tinnitus or something else entirely?
Every day for the past several months I have heard ducks quacking at 5.27pm, 7.09pm and again at 11.12pm. Nobody else can hear anything, so I have concluded that it’s not an external source. Also, it happens no matter where I am, so I don’t think it can be an environmental issue. It doesn’t seem to be related to any particular activity or body position either.
It lasts for around 4 or 5 minutes at a time. Constant quacking and sometimes a feeling of tightness across or else pulsating in my head, and / or a fluttering sensation in my ears. At other random times I feel all the sensations, but don’t hear any ducks. I had blocked sinuses a few months prior to the issue developing, but other than that I have had no diagnosed ENT problems.
It is mildly irritating, but doesn’t affect my life to any significant degree, other than making me increasingly worried that I am going mad.
I first noticed the time pattern for the 5.27 “flock” because they happened to say the time on the radio and after that I started noticing it. With the 11.12 one, my wife pointed out that I always mention it when getting ready for bed.
To be clear, I don’t sit around counting down the seconds until it happens. It’s more a case of, it happens and then I glance at my watch and see it’s on schedule.
Could it be related to extreme sleep deprivation? I have very bad insomnia, and average 2-3 hours of sleep per night.
I am aware that it sounds utterly ridiculous, but I am getting worried that it is a sign of some horrible psychiatric, neurological or god knows what else problem. I am too embarrassed to visit my own GP about it, and it seems too trivial to warrant a visit anyway.

I'm a international a level student, I have taken 4 subjects chemistry, physics, maths and english.
The subject that im pretty weak at is eng and chem, for chem I don't understand the basic concepts for most of the chapters. That I can say by looking at my grades, when I see the questions i kinda forget the concept. For english it's mostly my grammar and textual analysis.
I'm doing pretty well at maths and physics, for physics I just need some more practise as i didn't practised much for physics.
I'm finding difficulty setting up a consistent routine which I follow, I every single day make my do to list, but I manage to just complete few tasks. I procrastinate little bit (2-3 hours daily on phone), I want to set up a study routine in which I finish revision and solve past papers as well, by the end of 25 April.
What should I do, some recommend me doing certain subs on particular days, (for eg, chem and phy revision and past paperson Monday, chem revsison and paper with english paper on Tuesday and etc.
Plz help me out, I my kinda stressing out rn. LASTLY, THANKS FOR READING ALL THIS I RLY APPRECIATE THAT.

Meteor Hammer is a very good early-game item. I love seeing all these different combinations with it. Still, in long games, sometimes even in midgame it becomes useless: 2 seconds cast, little damage and no scaling at all. I think it would've been great to have an upgraded version of it, instead of selling it. I would love to see the Meteor Hammer 2 and think it would be fun.
Something like, you buy the recipe or even the second Meteor Hammer and get an upgraded version. Just like an example:

so i’ve had success with the law. went nc for awhile started talking again got annoyed with breadcrumbs so i cut contact but 2 weeks later we started talking again. basically i was pissed about the breadcrumbs because while we were talking everyday he didn’t wanna get intimate and i think it was due to a 3p although he insisted there wasn’t one. things got better after i cut contact and we started talking again because i think i got rid of the obsession so we got intimate. after that he said he didn’t want to for awhile due to personal reasons but we continued talking and flirting as well, however today i saw something about his 3p on his socials so i’m starting to wonder why the 3d isn’t reflecting what i’ve been manifesting despite my strong belief he’ll come back? i also did disregard 3p and am still sure at the end of the day i’m the one he wants to be with and will be with. does anyone have tips? i do like this man a lot and i see a lot with him but i’m getting so sick and tired of this and i need help really, i do see improvements but these things have been making me wonder if i’m being delusional

Our backyard in the Hollywood Hills (Los Angeles) came with a ~40ft tall pine tree when we moved in 20yrs ago. Not really sure of the variant but it's a sturdy-looking old tree, probably from when T-Rex roamed the planet. Sadly, we recently noticed almost all the "leaves" are brown and it stands on a sloped piece of land. With homes on either side and a sidewalk, we (very sadly) decided to get it cut down. We suspect a wile vine that has coated the entire hillside and was growing up on the tree killed it. We are working on de-vining.

1. What can we plant instead? We have a vegetable garden, ornamental flowering plants/shrubs/trees, some citrus fruits and berries growing. Preferably, we would like to get a young tree that will grow up over time but the sloped land is risky and transplanting a mature tree will cost us a pretty penny.
2. Any ideas on what we can do with a massive downed tree? It's stayed in the yard for so long and we're a bit attached to just throw/give it away. We have considered using the wood to make everything from souvenirs at family gatherings to tables and bird houses (spring is fantastic with so many birds & species in our yard). However, I suspect it will cost a bit and take up room to store wood.
