As the challenges faced by hospitality businesses grow, more pubs are being taken over by groups of community members trying to keep an integral part of their small towns alive.

I'd like to design an underwater box but can't understand how to choose the correct o-ring size for an IPx8 design. Is it just a case of me picking whatever sized o-ring I want and then calculating the goove size around that? Or is it that I design the goove size and then pick the o-ring.

MSG had their earnings call today and to the shock of nobody it wasn’t pretty. The INDYCAR game is delayed into 2024 and the NASCAR game is now sounding more like a “season update” rather than a new game. So it’s safe to expect a 2024 update to Rivals for all consoles and likely nothing more. Additionally on the call they stated they do not believe they have sufficient cash on hand to continue operations for the remainder of 2023.

I'm a 29y.o. Translation (Arabic/English) student from Syria with about 5 years of work experience in TV translation (subtitling and dubbing) and E-commerce localization.
I'm planning to move to the Gulf next month to start my freelance career as a translator and learn everything about the trade. As for college, I guess I'll have to study at home and fly back to Syria at least once a year for exams until I graduate.
I love translation, and I'm a proud translator... Until someone tells me they're a programmer, then my self-esteem hits rock bottom. It's the only thing that can make me wonder, "What am I doing with my life?". It's the one career that would make me love my life and myself.
Here's my story.
As a kid, I was a major nerd both at school and on the computer. I would build develop auto-run menus on MMB, create file-deleting viruses for my bullies, and open web pages on Notepad to learn how they're made. I even worked unpaid in a computer maintenance shop where I assembled PC cases, but that's another story.
Anyway, by highschool, I had lost my school nerdiness due to severe depression, and ended up achieving mediocre grades that didn't qualify me for anything tech-related.
I majored in something exceptionally awful called Library Science and ended up dropping off and fleeing my country to avoid draft.
Years later, after getting exempt from military service, I came back to my country and got into the translation field, and here I am - An experienced translator who will graduate in two years.
Do I hate my life? No. But also, can I get over the fact that my childhood passion is now the #1 job in the world, and I know nothing about it? No. Plus, if I say fuck it and learn a few programming languages, will my degree be completely worthless? Totally. I'm so lost.
I apologize for how messy and unorganized this post is, but this is exactly what it sounds like in my head.

Whilst I was very fond of my Triton 2+, I had to begrudgingly admit that they were a little too big for the space - both sonically and aesthetically!
After much research and some in-store listening, I took home my new grey LS60s today and left the GoldenEars behind as trade-in.
So far I am happy I made the right choice - they integrate far better into the room right out of the box compared to the Tritons and give up nothing in terms of bass depth and punch.
Weirdly they don't seem to activate the 58hz room mode like the Tritons did, so no need for my Roon DSP tweaks - I am just using the base settings in the KEF App to reflect the space.
Considering I have a tricky space with one speaker free standing and one around 30cm from a side wall, I am delighted with how well they have settled.
They sound amazing! Better than they did in store. Slightly more forward and bright in the upper and mids than the Triton's without being sharp. I am quite sensitive to certain timbres and pitches - think Bjork or other female singers, along with some horn sounds etc and the KEFs don't trigger that at all.
To my ears, bass extension and slam are easily on a par with the GEs, which is incredible to me when you look at the size difference! Where they win is in terms of bass detail retreval - things like string pluck resonance etc on double bass that weren't audible with the Tritons.
The fact that I now have massibely reduced the nuimber of boxes and cables in the lounge is just the icing on the cake - and now I should be able to make some money back in selling my DAC, Pre and Power amp as well.

I work as a speech-language pathologist in an all special ed district. This is my 3rd school year in my district (2nd year in my current program). I have had a crazier year than most of my coworkers because I have ended up changing caseloads several times this school year, including working with medically fragile students (which I had no prior experience doing, and was a nightmare). I'm currently providing makeup sessions to students for various therapists until a coworker goes on maternity leave. I have no private office except a corner of a classroom office, which is too noisy for me to provide therapy in for unfamiliaunknown students, so it is essentially like a locker where I put more bag, and leave it there until I go home. I end up having to borrow coworkers' offices (which is also tough during IEP meeting season now), or push-in to noisy/unfamiliar classrooms.
Today, I was attempting to provide services in a noisy classroom when a student I was seeing for a makeup session (with no prior rapport) kicked me near my ankle, due to being overstimulated by the noise and chaos, and then had to be escorted out of the classroom. I completed an incident report to cover myself (I have full mobility of my ankle, no swelling, just soreness), and went to see my AP for further discussion. My AP (who is retiring in June anyway) asked if I was "happy" with the program, to which I replied I wasn't very happy with the incident report I needed to file. My principal walked in (I assume she and the AP had scheduled time to speak), but when she saw we were talking, she said she would come back "in a few minutes". "A few minutes" essentially turned into 1 minute later, and my principal abruptly decided she would stay in the room until we finished our conversation, and did not say anything to me.
Space is a challenge in my program and district overall, and we are significantly short staffed, so we have had many staff out/quitting due to injuries throughout this school year. My administration is still changing classes for this current school year, and re-arranged a bunch of classrooms mid-year, so there are many people frustrated, in general. One teacher even said administration "apologized" for accepting a new student into the program last month that clearly isn't placed in the appropriate school setting.
My administration and union are aware of the space challenges I have had throughout this entire school year, but have done nothing to improve the situations. I have worked as an SLP for 5 years now, and understand that working with students with moderate-severe disabilities brings about these challenges, but am frustrated that the lack of space is now leading to increased injury/risk also. My administration is very hands off, and in the year and a half I have worked in this program, I have spoken to my principal maybe 2-3x. I'm up for tenure in a year and a half also, so I feel like I can't complain that much, despite essentially feeling like a nomad at work. I also find it very unusual also that my principal would stay in the room and remain silent, while I spoke with my AP about all of this.
We are 3 months away from the end of the school year, but it seems so far away, and I am so done with this school year.

So while I have spp my amarican lock 1100 open around 10 times every time feels like luck. My personal opinion is that the spool pins in slot one and two are the last ones to set and when I go to set them I either loose my tension wrench or I counter rotate to much and drop the pins. So I'm wondering if I can move the spool pin in slot one to somewhere else in the cylinder and replace it with the serated pin from slot 4 or 5. Or would this not allow me to operate the lock correctly or not get my belt ranking?

A couple weeks ago I found out I was pregnant (25 weeks) and two days ago I told this news to a really close friend of mine who also happens to be my coworker. We have known each other for a very long time and she has always been a really great friend to me up until this incident. After I told her she seemed really happy for me and all was well. That was until I came in this morning for my shift and was called into a meeting with said coworker and our supervisor. In this meeting my boss informed me that from today until I go on mat leave I am to be supervised by a senior physician on all matters regarding patients. In other words I am no longer allowed to do any of my basic job duties such as ordering tests, performing routine procedures, interpreting imaging, diagnosing patients, ordering prescriptions, surgeries, etc etc. for context me and this coworker are both Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist, but she has been in the field for longer as she is older. Our supervisor is the chief of the obstetrics and gynecology department at the hospital we are employed at.
I am absolutely infuriated with this news. Their reasoning was that this field has one of the highest liabilities for malpractice claims and MFM is especially complicated (both things i am fully aware of) so they do not want to risk me making silly mistakes due to “pregnancy brain”. Neither of these women have been pregnant before. I told them this is very unfair as I have not done anything wrong and I am being made out to be incompetent for no reason. Their response was that they work with pregnant women every day and they “know how they are” and my pushback is a clear sign that I need oversight. I am so insulted. I’m a fully licensed physician for fucks sake. I am also really upset that such a close friend of mine thought it was okay to agarre something so personal with my boss without my permission. I am genuinely thinking about leaving this hospital and finding a new job elsewhere.
I told my husband about all of this and he (who is also an MD in an entirely different field) is saying that I shouldn’t prioritize my feelings over patients safety 😐. I’m not! I just don’t believe my patients are in danger. Am I being dramatic here? What can I do about this?
