Hey y’all I am very curious as to if anyone else has experienced this. The last LO I had is the one I’m still moving on from. It’s mostly just wondering what they’re up to and why I wasn’t enough, but slowly, I’m letting go of him. I had just realized upon looking at a photo of him and the girl that traumatized me as a child, they look the same. Literally he is a boy version of her. Same face and hair, same zodiac sign, both Tauruses (I don’t think Tauruses are bad or anything I’m just pointing out a similarity they have in common). Similar personalities. Both selfish and rude to me. The girl who traumatized me as a child, was my childhood best friend, who turned out to be very verbally, abusive, as well as emotionally, and occasionally physically. She really messed me up and I cut her off when I was 10. but definitely left me with scars that affects the way I see myself to this day. I think the reason I liked him, the real reason, is because he reminded me of her. Just in the way, they both look and how similar they seem. I think I wanted a do over where he would be like my best friend (the best friend she never was) only I would also be dating him and he would make up for the pain that I suffered as a child from the girl that looks just like him. Literally they look like they could be twins or at the very least siblings. I’m wondering did any of you choose a LO who looks like the person who traumatized you or reminds you of them? Genuinely curious. Also did you ever stop finding your LO attractive and realized their average or ugly at best? I feel like it’s been happening to me as I let this go.

I used to have beautiful light blonde baby hairs in my temples and around my face but they’re falling out and my hairs now more like an ugly mousey dark blonde/brown colour. I feel like my life is over and I don’t know what to do. I’m looking in to hairline lowering surgery but that is not going to change my hair. I feel like my only other option is to get a good wig but that feels like such a humiliating thing to do at the age of 25 when overall, I still have hair but it just looks shit (I feel ungrateful for what I’ve got when most people who wear wigs have actual problems with. Best case scenario is that I find a wig I like more than my original hair and actually makes me look good. But even then I would have the stress of putting it on everyday and trying to hide from all my friends. Don’t think I would ever be able to comfortably go on holiday again, go to a festival, go swimming etc.

As a child of the 1980s, I had a glimpse of a world that never came to fruition. It was the World of Tomorrow. It wasn't a place—but a time in which humanity attained a prosperous and progressive civilization. A time where our challenges were met with intellect, compassion, and fortitude. In this future world, our differences were appreciated and our similarities—celebrated. This world was a wonder of inspiration and innovation.
Though I was young when I received this glimpse—I was left with an impression upon me that would never subside. The stage on which this glimpse was presented was called EPCOT—i.e., the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. I doubt there are many who have not heard of this once unique and ambitious, futuristic and cultural—showcase. Though, what once was—is currently a shell of its former self.
This post isn't meant to be a retrospective on an obsolete theme park—however, the message that the park conveyed is relevant to this point.
For those familiar with EPCOT (pre 21st century), the sentiment I convey may resonate with you. There were a multitude of inspiring pavilions and attractions to experience—though, one in particular, stands out as a shining example of EPCOT's theme and intent. It was a dark ride known as Horizons. For those fortunate enough to experience Horizons first hand—I have no doubt that you comprehend the lasting impact this 15-minute journey through time and space has had for so many.
Horizons was a glimpse into a hypothetical 21st Century “Tomorrow.” It was wondrous and astonishing, to say the least. Upon completion of this journey—once exited, I remember being left with a profound longing to be a part of that world. I was young and impressionable—yet certain that I would live to see its ambitious predictions come to fruition.
A few years after my initial experience at EPCOT, a television program premiered that would go on to have an impact as profound as that of Horizons, for me. The program was Star Trek: The Next Generation. It was as if I was granted a glimpse even further into Tomorrow—one that was the natural evolution of what Horizons had dreamt to be.
Still so young and impressionable—I was certain that what I was seeing on the screen was what was in store for mankind.
The idea of the 21st Century and beyond was enthralling to me; it couldn't arrive soon enough!
As a teenager at the turn of the century, as well as the new millennium—I felt our greatest days were just around the bend. However, a catastrophic sobering event would come to alter my perception on where we were headed as a species. That event was the coordinated attacks that took place on September 11, 2001. At the time, I was still naive to the complexities of how our planet is governed—and exactly who and what—was governing it. However, the events of that day forced me to ask daunting questions and seek relevant answers. One thing was immediately clear to me… the way I perceived our world, and its future, would forever be altered.
For the first time, I began to question if our best days were ahead, or if that optimistic glimpse I believed possible—was but a fantasy. This was a jarring realization.
For the next couple of decades that proceeded—I watched this planet and its inhabitants further delve into despair and peril. Once upon a time, humanity believed that its best days were before them. Today, this is far from the zeitgeist.
Across the globe—the prevailing perception for so many—is that we are currently living in a dystopia—in which, our most deleterious consequences are unfolding at an exponential rate.
This troubles me greatly—as I am now a parent; anxious about the world that my offspring is inheriting. With the tsunami of engineered inequality, wars, violence, pollution, and strife—that so many suffer from daily—finding the silver lining can be quite difficult.
Difficult as it may be—it is not impossible. There IS a silver lining. As I desire not to be ambiguous nor esoteric—I will tell you that the silver lining is the fact that—with awareness comes understanding. And with understanding, comes contemplation. Contemplation is a remarkable facet of one's mind—as it compels one to realize that there ARE options. When options are available—decisions are ripe for the taking. And once a decision has been made—action can be put in motion.
The question we must ask of ourselves now is — What comes next? What do we want out of this brief experience called “Life?” Because, I for one, am not content with the way this world is unfolding. I do not like where the disharmony is leading us to. Humanity is being perpetually manipulated by nihilistic and even—sadistic influences. Division is aggressively fueled by the Powers That Be—to inhibit Unity.
Earth, and her inhabitants—are a complex and delicate phenomenon. So many disagree on so much; one's utopia is another's dystopia.
Though, there are those of us who collectively long for a desirable Tomorrow. We may have differing ideas on how to achieve this; yet, our end goal is the same… to thrive in a world of our own making and collective contributions—for the greater of the self, as well as the other.
This message is dedicated to all those who resonate with its contents. I want you to know that despite these often dark times—there is light at the end of the tunnel. For those of you who desire something greater than the status quo — I invite you to join us in engineering our Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow.

I swerved as I almost crashed into a blue sedan, due to my wandering thoughts.
I cursed as I shook my head to clear it.
The pack house came into view and so did the large group of men in front.
I jumped out and stalked to my father's side.
My father was angry, and I understood him.
A rogue was nothing to play with, who knows why he had left his previous pack.
The rouge before them was actually not a full grown man.
He looked around my age actually. He wore a black shirt, dirty jeans and tattered black boots. His blonde hair was sticking out in all places and he had bright green eyes.
Maybe in college then?
The rest of him didnt look better. He had long scratches down his face, chest and legs that had dried up blood.
Guess the pack got to him first. My father gave me a look before turning to the young rogue.
"You do know you tresspassed on my territory and I could have you killed, dont you pup?" Dwayne said in his alpha voice.
The pup stood his ground, seemingly unaffected by my father's alpha voice.
My eyes flickered to my father in surprise. Was he...?
The rouge nodded at my unanswered question.
"My name is Tyler Bay, future Alpha of the Midnight Pack a few miles away from here. My pack was attacked unexpectantly late last night.... I managed to escape..but my entire pack was annihilated...."

We entered my father's study to come up with a strategic plan.
With the help of myself, my future Beta Don and his father the current Beta Mike McMathew, my father finally decided on a solution.
Tyler sat in a seat, listening to us.
I would give him weary glances once in a while, thinking that no one should be going through this.
"We'll send Sean Paul and Frankie Hoss, our best trackers to go to your property to check things out. " My Dad said to Tyler.
He nodded his eyes dull and lifeless.
It was silent for a few minutes.
"We were totally caught off gaurd " He finally said.
We looked at him, waiting patiently .
"We were celebrating my younger brother, Matt's marriage to his Mate Kelley . Every one was happy, dancing and all of a sudden we're surrounded by these rogues...."
He swallowed convulsively before continuing.
"Clothes shred as my men shifted, protecting their Mates and siblings and pack. But not me, my gaurds forced me out the pack house. All I could do was mind link my father. He told me to leave, that he would take care of everyone . Above all he's my Alpha, and I had to listen. A few miles away, I told my gaurds to return . They should've been here by now..."
Tyler's eyes had become glassy and he kept clenching and unclenching his jaw.
"Son show Tyler to a bedroom, and with a change of clothes please. "
"Yes father" I bowed my head " Beta, Don I'll see you tomorrow. "
I led Tyler to a room, then went in search for clothes. When I drop them off I close my eyes in agony, he was sobbing in the shower.
I vowed these assholes would pay, no one should go through this!
I exited just as my father linked me to run a few rounds.
I ran till 11, not physically exhausted but mentally.
"Go on to bed Chris, you have school tomorrow " My father mind linked " We'll keep a look out for the gaurds, but either they're gone or captured."
"I agree father, good night" I climbed up the stairs and into bed.
I dreamt of my Mate, and I vowed I would find her tomorrow.

For starters, objects are immune to the fiery explosion of gunpowder. A keg or powder horn will go boom, but the adjacent wall won't suffer a scratch.
When gunpowder in 5e explodes from a keg or powder horn it only damages creatures. (Sure, the keg and powder horn were technically objects themselves, but if your intention is blowing a hole in a castle wall, 5th edition gunpowder ain't gonna do it for ya.)
In addition to this small fact a single Keg going off only has a 50% of setting off an adjacent keg (MToF, page 204.)
Compared to the other options gunpowder only has one real strength: It is cheap. Out of the 3 other options here gunpowder is the cheapest way to go if you need to supply an army with guns and canons.
Even if you go the absolutely insane route of saying a powder horn only holds enough for 5 shots, that still puts it at 7 GP per shot of powder. By far the cheapest option.
Smokepowder. Wondrous item, uncommon. 40 GP for a single shot. Created in Packets of 5.
200 GP for a standard packet of 5.
20,000 GP for a Keg of Smokepowder. Quick reminder that this is a magic item that can be dispelled with a single casting of Dispel Magic. Poof goes the Keg of 20,000 GP with a single casting.
If the insane price tag doesn't scare you the dangerous fragility of this substance will. Fire, dropped, or so much as handled roughly, and this thing goes off, damaging creatures and objects within 20 feet of it.
5e Gunpowder you could put in a bag and play hacky sack with it. Drop a salt packet of smokepowder on a table and it detonated like a hand grenade. Stuff might as well be explosive gold powder with how expensive and dangerous it is.
So what are the upsides to something that can seen be with detect magic, doesn't work in an anti-magic field, is super dangerous to carry, very time consuming and costly to make, and (according to a combination of google/guesswork) is probably still useless when wet in a firearm while still dangerous enough to go off when dropped?
Precisely. You guessed it: Its weaknesses are what people are after. They're not bugs. They're features.
Detect Magic allows it to be easily detected and regulated. Its ability to damage objects is great, because it is essentially the only object damaging explosive that can be made. This is incredibly useful for demolitions of castle walls and for mining purposes. Societies capable of creating anti-magic fields (either through a miniature Eldritch Machine like the ones in ERftLW, or by controlling a beholder) are capable of safely storing kegs of this powder because they are inert inside of an anti-magic field.
Blasting Powder. (EGtW, page 225) An Alchemical Item introduced in EGtW on page 225.
While we don't know the exact price (because they never gave us one) we can infer what the price isn't based on the context clues provided. Using the container rules in the phb (page 153) and the Tool Proficiency rules for Alchemist Supplies in XGtE (page 79) I've figured out that it costs under 300 GP to make 1 Pouch of "Blasting Powder."
While we are talking 60 GP per firearm shot I would gladly pay that price to use one of the safest materials in 5e. It requires fire to ignite. It doesn't damage objects (other than its container) when it explodes. It is incapable of setting off a chain reaction of its powder if a keg of the stuff is right next to one that is lit.
If you are on a ship this is what you want. Something that can hurt the enemy without sinking yourself in the process.

As a child of the 1980s, I had a glimpse of a world that never came to fruition. It was the World of Tomorrow. It wasn't a place—but a time in which humanity attained a prosperous and progressive civilization. A time where our challenges were met with intellect, compassion, and fortitude. In this future world, our differences were appreciated and our similarities—celebrated. This world was a wonder of inspiration and innovation.
Though I was young when I received this glimpse—I was left with an impression upon me that would never subside. The stage on which this glimpse was presented was called EPCOT—i.e., the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. I doubt there are many who have not heard of this once unique and ambitious, futuristic and cultural—showcase. Though, what once was—is currently a shell of its former self.
This post isn't meant to be a retrospective on an obsolete theme park—however, the message that the park conveyed is relevant to this point.
For those familiar with EPCOT (pre 21st century), the sentiment I convey may resonate with you. There were a multitude of inspiring pavilions and attractions to experience—though, one in particular, stands out as a shining example of EPCOT's theme and intent. It was a dark ride known as Horizons. For those fortunate enough to experience Horizons first hand—I have no doubt that you comprehend the lasting impact this 15-minute journey through time and space has had for so many.
Horizons was a glimpse into a hypothetical 21st Century “Tomorrow.” It was wondrous and astonishing, to say the least. Upon completion of this journey—once exited, I remember being left with a profound longing to be a part of that world. I was young and impressionable—yet certain that I would live to see its ambitious predictions come to fruition.
A few years after my initial experience at EPCOT, a television program premiered that would go on to have an impact as profound as that of Horizons, for me. The program was Star Trek: The Next Generation. It was as if I was granted a glimpse even further into Tomorrow—one that was the natural evolution of what Horizons had dreamt to be.
Still so young and impressionable—I was certain that what I was seeing on the screen was what was in store for mankind.
The idea of the 21st Century and beyond was enthralling to me; it couldn't arrive soon enough!
As a teenager at the turn of the century, as well as the new millennium—I felt our greatest days were just around the bend. However, a catastrophic sobering event would come to alter my perception on where we were headed as a species. That event was the coordinated attacks that took place on September 11, 2001. At the time, I was still naive to the complexities of how our planet is governed—and exactly who and what—was governing it. However, the events of that day forced me to ask daunting questions and seek relevant answers. One thing was immediately clear to me… the way I perceived our world, and its future, would forever be altered.
For the first time, I began to question if our best days were ahead, or if that optimistic glimpse I believed possible—was but a fantasy. This was a jarring realization.
For the next couple of decades that proceeded—I watched this planet and its inhabitants further delve into despair and peril. Once upon a time, humanity believed that its best days were before them. Today, this is far from the zeitgeist.
Across the globe—the prevailing perception for so many—is that we are currently living in a dystopia—in which, our most deleterious consequences are unfolding at an exponential rate.
This troubles me greatly—as I am now a parent; anxious about the world that my offspring is inheriting. With the tsunami of engineered inequality, wars, violence, pollution, and strife—that so many suffer from daily—finding the silver lining can be quite difficult.
Difficult as it may be—it is not impossible. There IS a silver lining. As I desire not to be ambiguous nor esoteric—I will tell you that the silver lining is the fact that—with awareness comes understanding. And with understanding, comes contemplation. Contemplation is a remarkable facet of one's mind—as it compels one to realize that there ARE options. When options are available—decisions are ripe for the taking. And once a decision has been made—action can be put in motion.
The question we must ask of ourselves now is — What comes next? What do we want out of this brief experience called “Life?” Because, I for one, am not content with the way this world is unfolding. I do not like where the disharmony is leading us to. Humanity is being perpetually manipulated by nihilistic and even—sadistic influences. Division is aggressively fueled by the Powers That Be—to inhibit Unity.
Earth, and her inhabitants—are a complex and delicate phenomenon. So many disagree on so much; one's utopia is another's dystopia.
Though, there are those of us who collectively long for a desirable Tomorrow. We may have differing ideas on how to achieve this; yet, our end goal is the same… to thrive in a world of our own making and collective contributions—for the greater of the self, as well as the other.
This message is dedicated to all those who resonate with its contents. I want you to know that despite these often dark times—there is light at the end of the tunnel. I have over 200 BTC (see post history for verification) purchased many years ago and separated across 3 Trezor units in off-site locations.
All 3 Trezors were bought from the official website. I've written down the seed phrase on the the free little paper that came with each one, these are also stored in 3 separate locations away from the Trezors in fire-proof safes. I don't have a passphrase. I never stored the seed anywhere else.
I'm going to transfer the paper wallet seed phrases over to 3 Steelwallets.
I also want to do a test on the seed phrases as I haven't check on the BTC in a few years before I put everything back in the safes. I'm a bit concerned with all the horror stories I've been reading about Trezor wallets being emptied/keylogger software or other malware.
A). What is the best way to do the test?
I'm thinking the safest option might be:
I'm aware the above might seem overkill, but this amount is significant enough to warrant the cost. Can anyone stress test the above scenario for me and let me know any potential failure points or what they would do differently? Could anyone let me know what brand laptop they'd buy in my scenario?
B). How do I leave this stuff for my wife in the event of my death or incapacity?
The missus is not technically incompetent but neither is she a programmer. I'd rate her a 3 out of 10 on computer skills (I'd rate myself a 6 out of 10). I'm thinking about sitting down with her at the kitchen table and physically making her do points 3-6 together with me so she knows what to do if I'm no longer around. She also knows where the Trezors and Steelwallets are kept in the event I'm not around but it might be an idea for her to know how everything works. Many years ago I showed her the 4 digit pins for each Trezor (a memorable number known to her and me only shared across the 3 units) but I didn't add a passphrase as I didn't want to overcomplicate things for her. I asked her recently if she'd feel comfortable recovering the BTC in the event I'm gone and she looked a bit skeptical.

- Test the first seed phrase from the newly punched Steelwallet. Wipe the test Trezor back to factory settings.
- Test the second seed phrase from the newly punched Steelwallet. Wipe the test Trezor back to factory settings
- Test the third seed phrase from the newly punched Steelwallet. Wipe the test Trezor back to factory settings.
- Place the 3 old Trezors and the 3 new Steelwallets back in their original locations. Burn the 3 free papers containing the seed phrases.
- Use Darin's Boot and Nuke programme on the harddrive of the laptop. Remove the harddrive and physically destroy it (I have access to an incinerator.). Sell the laptop without a harddrive (I already own a decent MacBook and no-one in my family needs a cheap laptop).
- Physically destroy the test Trezor unit.

My breath came in short gasps, the cold air clogging up my air way. I stumbled, falling on my hands and knees.
I could feel blood seeping down my legs, sharp branches scratching my hands but I paid little attention to the pain.
And still I continued to run...
and run...
and run!
I had to get as far away from him as possible, if he caught me...I shook my head not wanting to think about it.
Tears streamed down my face as I heard the familiar howl, he was getting near.
But I had nowhere to go.
The realization yet again hit me, causing me to falter.
Where would I go?
I had no money.
I had no relatives.
I was just a little girl and I was alone.... so alone.
As I stood there, the cold seeped through my jeans and jacket, sending a bone shattering chill through my body,
I heard the approaching footsteps.
I froze before I came to my senses and ran.
I stumbled and stumbled, unable to see the tree roots and low branches.
Finally after what felt like hours, I couldn't continue on.
I was cold, and my limbs were going numb due to the December winter.
I fell to the ground, too tired to push away the stick poking at my ribs.
I closed my eyes, letting sleep take me.

August 25, 2014
I woke up to the sound of the alarm clock.
My eyes snapped open and I instantly shut it off knowing he had a hangover and the noise would only infuriate him.
I sat up in my pull out couch bed and stretched my sore muscles.
The first day of Senior year at Middleton High.

I headed into the bathroom, taking a quick shower and brushing my teeth.

Frankly, the hoodie hid things better.
I didn't bother with make—up, I wasn't the type of girl who tried to stand out much.
I put on my black boots, grabbed my backpack then quietly made my way down the small hallway.
I winced as the board creaked beneath my weight.
I had forgotten about that.
Hopefully he had not heard.
I had almost made it to the front door when his voice boomed out.
"Samantha!"
The door handle in my hand, I stared at it longingly before making my way to the door.
I waited, knowing he didn't like me to talk without him saying so.
"Where are you going?"He demanded, his speech slurred from the hangover the night before. "To school" I said softly.
I peeked in his room when I heard a shuffle.
He still wore his mechanic uniform, the blue of it stained with various oil stains. His black hair in tangles, and two day whiskers covering his face.
"Come here!" He rasped.
Cautiously I made my way inside, side stepping the brown bottles of what I supposed was moonshine. It was all he ever drank.
I stood before him, staring at the far wall and wishing I were anywhere but here.
Suddenly he grabbed my hand and jerked me closer to him.
He gave me a hard kiss on the cheek then let me go.
"You can leave now" He said yawning and putting the covers over his head.
I wiped my cheek furiously before making my way outside .
Chris:
I woke up to the best smell ever.
Bacon.
What better way to start my senior year?
After taking a quick shower and putting on a black aeropostale shirt, jeans and back Nike hightops I made my way down stairs.
When I entered the kitchen my father had his arms around my mother and they were lip locked.
"Aww jeez! Gross!"
I rolled my eyes.
My mother flushed but my father just grinned.
"Morning darling you ready for school?" my mother set a plate before me piled with eggs, Bacon, sausages and pancakes.
"Oh yeah who doesn't like school?"
I said sarcastically before shoving as much food as I could in my mouth.
I saw my father silently chuckle before giving me a pat on the shoulder.
"I'm off to work, Chris have a good first day. I'll see you later honey."
I watched as he gave mom a kiss then walked out.
I ate quickly, then gave mom a kiss before leaving.
Getting into my 17th birthday present, a silver Bentley I headed to Middleton High.
