So the Perihelion has a ton of usability issues when trying to use it in CQC, and I'm not going to go into depth on all of them in this post.
But one big one, which will be exacerbated by the cap on how long a charge can be held, is the way it uses ammo.
Mechanically speaking, if you want to make a charge weapon interesting, the charge up should be a meaningful, tactical choice, where both uncharged and charged shots present different pros and cons.
The Perihelion suffers in this regard: the fully charged burst feels like the only way of firing the weapon that's worth it.
That's bad enough in itself, but this is worsened by the fact that it's a 3-round burst in a weapon that only has a 3-round mag.
Every time you don't fire a full burst it's bad, not just because the shot itself is less powerful, but you're now stuck with an incomplete mag that cannot achieve a full burst anymore until you've sat through the whole arduous reload (and THEN the charge up time on top of that.)
In any reasonable design of a charge up weapon with a time cap like this, you'd want the weapon - in case of surprise - to be able to fire an uncharged shot or two at a target that appeared out of nowhere as a first reaction, before settling into the rest of the combat. But currently with the Peri that means you're faced with a partial mag, incapable of a full burst, and the two bad choices of either immediately reloading, or trying to land another weak shot or two to empty the mag, delaying you even longer till you can have another burst.
The solution?
Heat-based ammo pool.
Make the delay proportional to the kind of shots fired.
If you shoot one un-charged shot from a heat-based ammo pool, you only need to wait 1/3rd of the full reload time to be at full capacity again.
This would make a 2-charge also an acceptable thing to throw into the mix, depending on how the combat is pacing out, instead of it being exclusively about the full charge and everything else feeling terrible.
Really, given how obsessed the devs have been about making heat-based ammo the Vanu Gimmick on small arms, it's a little surprising we haven't seen it yet on this type of weapon that would actually mechanically synergize with it, and we got "no bullet drop" on a tank cannon with 225 m/s muzzle velocity instead.
((EDIT: A way to cancel a charge would be swell too, obviously, but this suggestion should at least partially solve the same problems and seems much more achievable without adding an extra keybind to tanks just for cancelling a mechanic only a single gun on a single tank has))

Hi all, I'm an American expat who moved to Ontario to get my Master's degree and also be with my girlfriend of four years. I'm getting close to finish my M.S. in mechanical engineering and the job search is looking a bit rough because the salaries in my field are a good 10-20% lower in here than a lot of places in the US - and more like 20-30% lower in Quebec, where I want to move (which I know has another layer of complications). While I like it here in Canada and can see myself living here indefinitely, life would obviously be easier for me if I could make more money. I know that in the US I could be making something like US$80k (CA$110k) with my qualifications and maybe up to US$100k (CA$140k) if I'm lucky, which would be absolutely unheard of over here without many more years of experience. For reference, I was making US$65k ($CA90k) with just my Bachelor's. I'm just concerned that even if I do work in the US for a year or two, the salary isn't going to transfer over very well.
Has anyone had the experience of working in the US and coming back to Canada with a larger salary? Is it unreasonable to expect that I could be paid at least as well if do this? Especially considering that I want to move to Quebec.

Choosing Between Dry Food or canned food, or Both
In general, it is best not to give multiple flavours or textures to your Cat. They’re adept at teaching their owners how to introduce additional ingredients to the mix when the Cat is hesitant to eat the food offered. Canned food is also known to be less carb-based when compared with dry food (you cannot make dry food without flour) and, consequently, more protein-rich. Some deem protein-rich, low-carb diets less likely to result in overweight in cats. However, this is not the case in feeding studies; the consumption of total calories is the most crucial. Cats require about 4 to 5 ounces of canned food daily, which is indisputable. Pate-style Canned Food is generally calorific than varieties closely resembling human food, including gravies and chunks. This is a good thing in determining the calories consumed daily.
Dry Food: A Cost-effective But Not as Healthful
Dry food is extremely calorific dense. It is devoid of water, which is a factor in the volume of the food. Due to this, feeding only dry food is a sign that your Cat will be hungry in the event that they are getting a sufficient amount of calories from the food because of the less volume of food available. In this regard, the fact that free dry food or a version with fewer calories is not going to stop weight growth.
How to control your Cat’s weight when on a dry Food Diet
Separating dry food into small quantities that can be controlled throughout the day is the most efficient. This way, your Cat will never be hungry and is never really starving. Canned food is my preferred option. For a cat of adult age, Start with 1/2 of a 5.5 1 oz. Bottle (Friskies/9 size can) two times a day and no other food. This is the beginning base and will likely have to be adjusted downward.
For kittens and small cats, a portion of a 3 oz. Container (Fancy size can) twice a day could be better. The amount of food is cat-specific and usually requires adjustment up or down. Food that is canned appears to be the ideal balance of energy and feeling satisfied, and it also seems to keep the Cat going longer than a dry food dish.
Recommendations for Owners with dry food
Dry food is a good option for feeding; however, it must be done by carefully weighing the portions, eating specific meals, and not eating snacks. Modern-day food has more nutritious ingredients, resulting in more consumed calories for each cup, which means there is less need compared to the Little Friskies of 30 years earlier.
Dry food is served for a specific period, and any leftover food is discarded until the subsequent food distribution. Feeding multiple times a day is helpful, but it could be a source of tension because the Cat will try to get provided during the interval between meals. Food bowls that are not open must be accessible. Sometimes, picking the bowls out and removing any warning of the absence of food can help reduce the amount of beggarly behaviour.

zaya observatory: the easiest weapons case spawn, approach the observatory from the northwest, and climb onto the radio tower as silently as you can and make your way to the second level. the juggernaut spawns on the highest railing of the dome in the center of the POI. shoot him with a sniper, preferably with a friend or two or five, but when alone you may need to bring a munitions box depending on your aim and sniper of choice. sometimes he’ll flinch and get stuck in the dome, but not to worry, headshots will get you through. it’s also the easiest exfil because of the automatic high ground, a squad member can fly off to another exfil, which will probably be in parachute range, call it, and then you can pick up the weapons case (to delay the alert) when the chopper arrives, and fly to the exfil with no interference.
zarqwa hydroelectric: similar strategy, arrive from the northeast and climb onto the radio tower. juggernaut spawns on the back end of the island in the middle. if you look between the two buildings on the island, he’ll be standing in the open side of the left building, near the pool of water. once dead, parachute down, grab the case, dive into the pool of water and get to the river. head northeast or southwest from there (depending on closest exfil) and you can swim to the bridge and get out with less resistance. in a perfect world, exfil would be close by, but because of the lack of high ground, escape from hydro tends to be a little harder. easiest when done early in the game while everyone is near the outer edge of the map.
al sharim pass: approach from the northwest, and climb up the tower in the center of the POI. there will be ai around but it tends to be tier 1s so make quick work of them and get up the tower. the juggernaut is a bit harder to spot, but he spawns at the top of the POI. kill some of the tier 3 ai, and he’ll eventually poke his head out and stand near the tree at the courtyard at the highest point. clear out as much tier 3 ai as you can before killing the jugg, since they can be a struggle when parachuting down to pick up the case. like observatory, high ground lets a squad member parachute early to call an exfil before the case is picked up, to reduce player interference.

I put an order through on the 14th and paid via bank transfer immediately, all bank info was correct when I paid. 7 days after I placed the order I still was yet to receive any information on my order, tracking info or otherwise so I started posting in their Reddit pages asking what was happening with my order and when would I receive it. My posts were deleted and my account was banned from their page. After a week and a half of radio silence on Telegram (supposedly their customer service platform) I finally get through to someone who told me I had to place another order through the usual means to receive my first order (that didn’t make any sense to me either). After bothering them continuously for another couple days I finally get through to them again, this time being told my order would be dispatched on Thursday 23rd the latest with tracking information to follow the dispatch. I’m still waiting to receive confirmation and tracking info, 12 days after placing my order. Dispenseroo have been unfriendly, difficult to communicate with and straight up talking out of their arse the entire time to get me off their backs. My advice to any new customers, DO NOT USE DISPENSEROO. 0/10 would not recommend.

We both want to have children, something we discussed before our marriage.
Here is the problem: Although, before marriage, we agreed that we should be living together before we have children, my wife, worried that she is getting old (mid thirties) and that the application process takes too long, wants us to start the effort to have our children right now. She has threatened divorce in case I don't agree.One solution is to attempt to request a transfer by my company to the US (they have offices there) however there is no guarantee that will happen.
I am at a loss of how to navigate this, there aren't many examples I'm aware of in that situation. I understand my wife's concerns, but also have concerns of my own. Assuming that she somehow gets the care she needs during pregnancy and childbirth without me being around (and I can still visit her but not for long), I want to be present as a parent and contribute to my children's decisions in upbringing; living apart, at least for the first year or years of my children's lives, would make that extremely difficult. I don't see how I could effectively exercise my rights and my responsibilities as a father given that we live apart. I think it will also be difficult to fullfil the financial obligations that a child might bring due to salary and cost of living disparities between the two countries. Since she has also threatened divorce, I'm mortified that, for whatever reason, we might end up divorcing after she gets pregnant or after we have our children, so I don't want to make a decision based on "trust" and "good feelings" alone.
So one question I have is, if we had children now, what's the worst that could happen? Assuming that she gets pregnant and then we decide for whatever reason to divorce (we are human, we change, maybe all this distance will make us grow apart, I can't predict the future), she manages to stay in the US and all my applications to move to the US fail, will I get to see my children ever? For how long? Are there international laws that protect my rights as a father in that situation? Any legal agreements we could make?

All in all, my heart wants to fulfill her request, but my brain tells me it is very irresponsible to try and have children while living on different sides of the ocean. The Dutchman’s on-track activities in Formula 1 are currently taking him to continuously greater heights. Already a two-time World Champion, Red Bull’s dominant start to the F1 2023 campaign has made Verstappen the overwhelming favourite to make it three in a row this season.
And with his Red Bull contract running until the end of 2028, Verstappen’s Formula 1 endeavours will continue to be the centrepiece of his career for many more years to come.
However, having suggested that he wants to leave Formula 1 for other racing challenges after that, even though he will have only just moved into his 30s by that time, Verstappen already is giving great focus to his life outside of Formula 1.
That is not only in relation to racing either as it would seem Verstappen also wants to launch his own clothing brand.
The plan was to call it ‘Max 1’, though De Limburger reported that Nike have taken issue with that name as they believe it is too similar to their Nike: Air Max shoe range.
And the region’s trademark agency, The Benelux Office for Intellectual Property (BOIP), has issued a report that confirms its investigation and opposition from Nike, with the reasons why a roadblock has been put in front of Verstappen’s plans.
As well as suggestions that the similarity of the names could lead to confusion for the public, who may assume there is an affiliation between the brands, the styling also appears to be an issue.

A month ago my ex assualted me and called me racial profanities. I am pregnant as well and he knew this before and during the assault. I ended up filing a police report a couple hours later and the state ended up charging him with Assault with the Intent of Bodily Harm Strangulation Less than Murder.
I have medical examiner reports, texts that show his admission to the assault and also previous abuse, and the first responding officer's reports as well (my ex lied to the officer and claimed to have fallen on top of me) documented in my case file.
Well this is where I think I f*cked up. I came to find out that he has been denying the assault and his parents are calling me a "liar" and "crazy"....so I did do something crazy.
I ended up making a burner account on Instagram and decided to follow him and ofc he accepted because it was an attractive girl in the profile picture. I ended up liking one of his stories and he ended up messaging the account and we started talking. Then the topic of relationships came up and that is when he claimed that I was a violent person, how I was never truthful, lied about being pregnant (which is comical since I had taken a test on V day and my pregnancy is documented in the case file as well) and how he never attacked me. When I read that I felt like a truck hit me because here is so devoid of taking responsibility for his actions and I have to live with this for the rest of my life; I can't even leave my apartment without having someone by my side, have frequent nightmares, can barely eat (which is not only effecting me but my baby), can't sleep, and much more.
So I ended up texting him just reiteriating what he did and asking him how he can deny almost killing me and sent screenshots to him of the texts of him admitting to the abuse. Then I went ahead and contacted his parents and sent them pictures of my bruises, my black eye, and his admission and asked how they can coddle a grown man that almost killed me. I know it wasn't the smartest thing to do but I was so angry just knowing that he can so blatantly lie and spin the story as if nothing happened.
The next day, I called my DV advocate and told her everything that I did. Although she assured me that this happens and it's not uncommon for victims to try and get answers themselves, I can't help but to feel as if I ruined the case and that I won't get the justice I deserve. She also told me that he and his parents sent my screenshots to his public defender (which sort of confuses me because in my messages were pictures of my injuries and his admission?). He has a status conference in five weeks (we had a prelim hearing this past Tuesday and he waived the hearing so I wouldn't testify and finally took the plea deal. Before the hearing he wanted me to agree to just one year probation with therapy and anger mangement and then for it to be scrubbed off his record) and if we end up going to trial I'm afraid now that I've lost any type of credibility despite having concrete evidence...
Should I be worried that I ultimately ruined the case? Is there any way that I can still win against my abuser? Should I just now lower my expectations now and expect him to get a slap on the wrist? How can I make sure that justice is properly served? Also what exactly is a status conference??? My advocate and the prosecutor explained it to me but the legal terms flew right above my head.

Did a side hustle with a Health care company that just ghosted me when the pandemic hit. ( Well known home care company) Got a call two weeks ago from their recruiter who wanted to see if I was interested in being reactivated and that there would be a "bonus" after I worked 40 hours.
Start going through the process and I quickly figure out that all their front office staff is staffed by interns, which is why I can never get a straight answer to some basic questions, specifically the ones regarding pay.
So fast forward this week, after assuming that the pay scale is the same for said side job that I used to do, I discover that this office has a pay rate 50% lower for the work I did in 2019.
After emailing the intern and provided evidence of this disparity in pay I receive a call from someone in authority who tries to explain that they pay an hourly rate for the work as opposed to the flat rate per job I used to receive at the other office.
Mind you this isn't an offer from another company that I am asking them to match. They recruited me, this is the rate from another office ten miles down the road, within their own company, and they can't even bring themselves to say that there is a discrepancy, they think the issue is that I cannot comprehend basic fucking math.
Needless to say, I officially resigned before I even got started again.

Second contact was usually an exciting assignment - spending a year or so on a new planet talking to the best and brightest they had to offer in order to help them become members of the galactic federation, if they so wanted. Part of the job was also gently prodding them in the right technological direction for some of the more slower races. Second contact usually happened 5 years after first contact in order to give the new species time to adjust and read all the relevant paperwork.
Tasha hung her head in despair when she found out what had been left on the human home world. She questioned what could the humans possibly learn from it in such a short time, the data-pad would be written in the ‘universal galactic’ language so while the humans did have a translator it would still need to be integrated into their language first for the translations to work – this took between several months to a year to complete depending on the complexity of the language.
The first contact team reported that the humans had only reached minor technical advancements. They were still using liquid filled rockets, junk and other debris littered their space orbit and only one tiny space station has been built. They haden’t even left their home planet yet except for a small trip to their only moon. Looking over the report Tasha wasn’t sure that we should have contacted them in the first place!
There was still a few weeks of FTL travel before reaching the humans, maybe she was worrying for no reason - we’ll just have to wait and see.

Tasha suddenly awoke to the sound of alarms blaring. The first-officer Tokra was calling her on comms. “Commander, we have a proximity alert and received a request to dock.”
“Dock? Who from, and why are they wanted to dock during FTL?”. Tasha asked confusingly.
“It’s the Humans. They appeared right next to us inside our FTL bubble asking to talk, they have questions.”, Tokra replied. “They appeared so close and so suddenly that our proximity alerts had a heart-attack, as did most of the bridge crew - there was nothing on radar.”
“We aren’t meant to be there for another couple of weeks. What are they doing so far out from their home world? Never mind, turn off the alarms, come out of FTL and have them dock. Bring them to my ready room, I’ll be there shortly.”
Several questions raced around Commander Xen’s head. - Where the hell did they get an FTL drive? - How could they ‘sneak’ up on us so easily? - They couldn’t leave their own planet when we left them a five years ago - what are they doing so far out?
Tasha sighed, second contact is not going to plan!

After showering and getting dressed in her finest uniform, Tasha walked into the ready room. On one side of the table was her First Officer Tokra and the Chief Engineer Kaiya. On the other side of the table was a single slightly dishevelled and wide eyed human. He was staring at everything in the room like a child in a sweet shop - not knowing where to look next, a large grin across his face.
“Welcome to The Turin, I am Commander Tasha head of the Second Contact team. How may we help you?”
The human focused his darting eyes on Tasha, “Um, hello. Hi. Yes. Sorry about popping in so close to you; still trying to get used to my shuttle, I’ve only been driving it for a few days!”. He continued, “I’m Dr Avery Shelton, the lead scientist working on the FTL drive data within the tablet you left with us last year. My team and I have been very busy indeed. There are many such teams working on different subject areas. We are all very excited, it’s got rather a lot of wonderful information. We have a few questions though...”
Tasha deflated, this is not how Second Contact was meant to go. “We will be in orbit around your home world within a couple of weeks Doctor, how important are your questions that you would build and fly what looks like your first FTL ship just to meet us early?”
“That little thing is not our first FTL, oh my no. It is just a little run-around shuttle we have on Earth that can be hired. We have been building and improving your FTL designs for about a year now and have hundreds of ships and shuttles available. Your tablet helped us in the beginning but we have made so many improvements from your designs they are almost completely different - smaller, faster and more efficient. We are honestly surprised that you manage to get around at all with the deficiencies in your designs!”
Chief Engineer Kaiya almost choked at this, FTL drives are huge beasts taking a team of 10-15 engineers to ensure they run smoothly and here was a single human running one in a small “for-hire” shuttle. He had questions of his own, many many questions.
Dr Shelton continued, “First off, we wanted to know what happens when an FTL drive is steered into a black hole. We have been taking bets.”

I want to print out my 2FA backup codes to keep them in a safe, but I don’t own a printer, and I haven’t bothered buying a new one, since my old printer broke down. Where should I print my backup codes? Library? At my school? Ask a family member I trust to print it at their office? Friends house?
I’ve read online that some printers may save printed file copies on a hard drive or a server. If that’s the case, a hacker or possibly even work staff with bad intentions that has access to the hard drive that stores saved print file copies, could use these printed backup codes against me.
I know that this is probably an unrealistic scenario, but optimally, I rather play it “better safe than sorry”. Thoughts?

Hi everyone! I wanted to make a homebrew spell for my dnd game called "Mana drain". As its name implies, it drains the mana of a target to replenish the caster's own mana. In mechanical terms, it would steal a spell slot from the target and give it to the caster. As for the level, I would think it should be scalable in the sense that it would cost 1 spell slot of the caster of 1 lvl lower than the replenished spell slot, while also costing a spell slot of the same level as the replenished one to the target. This means that replenishing a 4th lvl spell slot would cost a 3rd lvl spell slot to the caster and a 4th lvl spell slot to the target. Other changes/options I've thought about would be: In case this version of the spell is judged as too bad, either having the possibility to transfer the replenished spell slot to an ally, or diminishing the consumed spell slot's level In case it is judged as too strong, limiting the usable targets to ones which have the same magic type(so arcane vs divine magic). Obviously, the target needs to have spell slots of the targeted level for the spell to work. So, what fo you think should be the minimum level this spell should be? And what about the options? Also, what classes should have access to this spell?

People in my food service workplace aren’t grossly racist - there’s no “n” word usage, no overt ill intent. A Black employee who is a top performer is succeeding.
It’s the next tier of Black employees who aren’t catching the breaks their white peers are given.
The hiring office recently sent us a 22-yr-old Black woman who is immature (she rolls her eyes when asked to complete tasks) and has poor attendance (several absences and lates in her first weeks).
Thing is, our 25-yr-old white female employee started off flaky and disruptive with poor attendance when she came here 3 years ago, and people coached her through it.
White employees often talk to the manager and supervisors about their concerns - we try to have a very “open door” atmosphere. But of the 20 or so Black employees who’ve come and gone over the past few years, only one used that access. When another Black employee mentioned emotional struggles in a group meeting, no one reached out to her. She stopped showing up at all.
When our part-time college student employees whine about completing a task, supervisors think it’s funny and cute. But the supervisors have eagle eyes of judgement about our new Black employee who is just a year older than the college kids. One supervisor was surprised when I pointed out how young this new Black woman is; they assumed she is much older. I know that’s a common unconscious bias among white people.
I am willing to bet most of our white employees haven’t given real thought to their racist bias, so if provided with training materials, it could really open their eyes. Any suggestions?

So from here, I got into a kind of issue I don't understand with the physics constraint behavior. I understood that the force transferred through the constraint is proportional to the mass of the object (https://youtu.be/UnVkALdd3k0) but I have a case where a very light object move a very heavy one and I don't understand why. Here is the example : Result of the simulate The top big cube doesn't simulate physics. The middle one simulate the physics and have a mass of 35000000 kg. The bottom small cube also simulate physics and have a mass of 0.01 kg. You also have 2 physics constraints, one for top-middle and a second one for middle-bottom. These 2 constraints are the same almost default, just having all the linear limits limited. So here my common sense say that a so light object couldn't be able to move a so heavy object like this. I have the feeling to miss something. Could you give me some advice / insights ? |

GP prescribed Lexapro, and Xanax in case of an emergency. I didn't do well with Lexapro. I felt totally numb, like a zombie. After a couple of months I went back to GP and he prescribed Sertraline. At the beginning it was ok, but my mood started swinging a lot as he kept increasing the dosage
I went back for the 3rd time. I asked if there was a "lighter" way to deal with my anxiety. I asked about magnesium and omega-3, or even any other supplement
He said it's true that people who lacks magnesium, tends to developed anxiety, but it doesnt mean at magnesium for a healthy person will help the anxiety. For Omega-3 he said there's no concrete proof it's an effective way to combat anxiety
He tried to remove all the ideas of taking any supplement from my head and he prescribed me a 3rd SSRI. I dont even remember the name because I threw away the prescription as soon as I left the clinic
I changed my lifestyle and my diet, and I do feel I improved but at the same time I feel I need an extra push. I don't want to go back again just to be prescribed another SSRI, or maybe I should... I would love to try a supplement but I dont even know which one....
