New Recollections of Dusk quest will be released Apr. 20 18:00 PST.
With the release, a new Area Burden and Barrier Skill will be added. We would like to introduce the new Area Burden and Barrier Skill, as well as explain some of the strategic content.

Burden: Corrosive Smog is an Area Burden that reduces your total HP. In conjunction, the new Barrier Skill will be added to certain weapons on Mar. 30 18:00 PST.
Plans of release for the new Area Burnden
Area Burden
Details
Effect
Opposing Barrier Skill
Burden: Corrosive Smog
Your maximum HP is reduced by 250,000.
Allies
Barrier: Corrosive Smog
*If HP falls below 0 due to the Area Burden’s effect, it will stay at 1 instead.
Quest Details
Barrier Skills in Loadout

Having Barrier Skills in your loadout is key to conquering Recollections of Dusk. Check the Prioritize Barrier Skills box during weapon loadout and select weapons with Barrier Skill marks. The higher the total Rank of your Barrier Skills, the more effective they will be against the Area Burden. Try aiming for Rank 8 or higher.
Required Characters

The quests will have Required Characters to be placed in your loadout when attempting them. Additionally, once a character is used to clear a quest in the Chamber of Dusk, they will be unavailable to use in other quests. Take the other quests into consideration when selecting your loadout to formulate the most effective strategy.
Notes
- Duration and content are subject to change without notice.
- Illustrations shown in notices, etc. may differ from those in-game.
- The difficulty of Recollections of Dusk quests may be adjusted in the future.
Thank you very much for your ongoing support for NieR Re[in]carnation.

2023.03.29 08:48 haceresquiacuatico There is no reason to believe the New Testament has one theology.
There is no Biblical or extrabiblical evidence that the authors of the various books of the Bible (New Testament in particular) shared one theology. When John is clearly an Incarnationist while Mark is plausibly an adoptionist, and when Paul says Sola Fide despite Matthew attaching judgement to works, it seems like one should just naturally assume that there is a spectrum of belief among the authors.
Christians will see two seemingly contradictory takes in the Bible and then prioritize the verses in order of their preexisting theology. There is no reason to do this unless you presuppose that the "Bible" has one transcendent message, which means that you can only be theologically educated by the Bible if you approach the Bible with a theology.

2023.03.29 08:14 ScottishHigh 𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐒𝐇 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇 𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐎𝐔𝐒 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐎-𝐉𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑
A landmark moment for Scottish High International School as the school hosted the prestigious Indo-Japanese Collaborative Meet on 28th March 2023 by warmly welcoming the Japanese students’ delegation from Bunka Gakuen Daigaku Suginami Junior & Senior High School. Also, a matter of immense pride for the country as Scottish High is selected as one of the Best World Indian Schools to be visited by the Japanese delegation of students.
Offering a perfect prelude to the meet was the traditional welcome ceremony by Scottish High students, followed by a welcoming address by the School Principal, Dr Sanjay Sachdeva and a School presentation providing a glimpse into the life and tradition at Scottish High International School. The delegates along with the crew were then taken on a guided tour of the school to get an insight into the holistic learning culture and environment at Scottish High. A friendly tug-a-war game with mixed teams was also organised to develop the spirit of solidarity and teamwork, followed by a camaraderie lunch for all the delegates, volunteers and team members.
Making the event monumental, Dr Cdr Kartikay Saini-Chairman, Scottish High International School, addressed the delegates and volunteers and presented them with the Scottish High Souvenirs and Certificates. The meeting further pinnacled with the warm exchange of memorabilia between Scottish High and the Japanese students before culminating into a warm farewell.
A buoyant intersection of culture, values and ideas, the Indo-Japanese collaborative meet at Scottish High not only marks the dawn of a new era in cross-cultural learning experience but also envisions its students as the potential envoys in strengthening bilateral ties with their overseas partner.

2023.03.29 08:07 Beedlam Looking for suggestions for a new laptop - 16 or 17inch. +64 Budget - $3500ish
Budget - up to $4000NZD / less is bette bang for buck appreciated.
Are you open to refurbs/used?
YES
How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
Build quality - I've had an msi gs73vr for a while now and i'm scarred for life from this turd.
Performance and everything else comes after no nonsense build quality. No broken hinges, fans that die after six months or flimsy chassis. After the MSI i'm not going to put up with that bs again. Other thing i'd value here is ease of servicing. No soldered ram etc. Ex professional tech here. Happy doing my own work.
How important is weight and thinness to you?
Moderately. Nothing over 30mm thick and preferably under 25mm.
Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.
16 or 17 inch
Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
Yes. Gaming and creative production will be done on this. Need 100% Adobe RGB coverage from the screen. Also needs to have good sound quality and audio reproduction/processing.
If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
I want an Nvida 4000 series and above GPU (or AMD equivalent) if they're out yet. Mid level to lower high tier such as 4060/4070. Where the price to performance ratio is best. Previous machine had a 1060 and i was still happy with that playing Hogwarts recently. Understand the 4000 series will happily double the performance of the 1000s.
Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
Matte screen only. Dual hdd capacity. SSD or maybe even 2.5 if anyone is doing that anymore. Good keyboard. Must have mic and cam built in to screen chassis.
Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
After my previous experience I'm reluctant to get an MSI again... or any company that has a lot of failures or crummy design choices.. cough.. HP.. cough.

2023.03.29 08:00 cerwisc I am 25 years old, make $43,000, live (temporarily) in Europe, work (temporarily) as a tech intern, and have a very average week
All values in USD.
Assets and Debt
Retirement Balance: nope because I'm planning on leaving the US (for my bf) after finishing school. Not sure how retirement balance works across countries.
Equity: nope but almost bit and bought a house in the middle of the insane housing price crisis? windfall?? in 2021. Boy would my life be different rn
Savings account balance: zip but 90k in bonds
Checking account balance: 60k
Credit card debt: nada, and using a debit card in Europe
Student loan debt: nothing, because my parents (bless them) paid for my (subsidized, bless FAFSA + need based scholarships) college tuition, and I got a free masters (thanks to my advisor + TAships) and am currently doing a free (aka on my advisor's bill again lmao + TAships) phd
Income
Income Progression: a string of tech internships (every single summer except freshman and masters and first year of phd) with pay from between 5500/month to 11000/month (pre-tax, adjusted for bonus and currency exchange rate) That high end was from a fancy startup and pre-brexit lmaoooo. Low end was gov work. And my current phd income is 2500/month, so this is actually an income regression lol
Main Job Monthly Take Home: Current internship is 5000/month but my overall taxes are low because I'm not here long enough for it to bump up my income taxes more than one rung. So keep in mind I make like 1700/month the rest of the year
Side Gig Monthly Take Home: I wish! Once I get my big girl job I'm going remote and setting up a ceramics studio, a grocery store, and then volunteering and making games. Work can go stuff itself. Honestly the more and more I work the more and more I feel like I want to turn stage left exit society, tyvm. People meme academia as being abstract and useless (and sometimes toxic...that one's deserved maybe) but unless you are at a specific type of company, corporate research can be equally "useless" but by way of having insanely short (as in, to production by year's end) deadlines so you're kind of forced to "fit a square peg into a round hole" eg work on a business problem that you (or your higher up) did not spend enough time defining and then somehow make it look like research when maybe the most cost-effective solution was something else entirely...sorry for rant
Do your parents pitch in monthly? Been financially independent since last year...to my great surprise. I used to be financially independent since undergrad graduation but apparently my mom started sneakily paying off my CC debt again in my phd so I had to change the linked bank account back. My mom thinks I'm poor lmao...I'm not
Expenses
Rent (includes utilities): 2000 ouch (Europe) + 500 (US) monthly
Transport: bike (free after fixed costs, yay!) and bus (free with school)
Renters insurance: none. Getting renter's insurance is like wearing my retainer...everyone tells me to do it (including myself) but I make up a million excuses as to not
Savings contribution: whatever's left in the month. Usually 400+-100
Investment contribution: is the stock market even real? I'm just kidding. But I don't really understand my finances, and I feel embarrassed about that, but at the same time I feel like after factoring in all my personal considerations, I'm better off not doing anything other than guaranteed bonds.
Debt payments: no. college is done, no house, no car
Cellphone: Prepaid in Europe, like 5 a month. But my US phone is actually on my parent's family plan. So I guess I'm still not financially independent...
Subscriptions: Occasional magazines 50 annually, school union 100 annually
Regular therapy: None. Therapy has been a hit and miss for me
Paid hobbies: Art supplies like 100 a year, books like 300 annually, audio like 100, bike stuff 100, kitchen stuff...400, fancy specialty ingredients...800, clothes 400 but my mom gifts me a lot over the holidays like 500-1000 worth, and gifts for f&f I budget around 800 a year
[Money Diary]
[Tuesday]
7am: wake. super groggy. Drink two gulps of fanta to actually wake and immediately regret it
8am: on the bus to work. Today is going to be a slow day which is nice.
8:30am: grab a rhubarb and rose yogurt for breakfast ($2). Delicious. Have to order this somehow when I'm back in the states.
12pm: Brought eggplant and bolognese for lunch. Eat with another intern and talk random stuff about our phds.
4:30pm: leaving early cuz today is my bf's last night in the country. I head to a bakery and grab a croissant and pretzel and baguette ($7) for him as an apology for an argument we had yesterday. I also head to a grocery to grab a pumpkin ($10) for curry later. I race to the bus! Almost miss it. Everyone is looking at me because I'm panting and I feel that strange awkwardness you get from being caught running without gym clothes.
6pm: Back home. We heat up leftovers (ramen for me and bolognese for him) and watch a chill video about balancing in gaming. It was either this or a math video and the math video was too long.
7pm: I ask him about when he's coming back to see me so I can let my mom know if my schedule fits my family's June paris trip or not (my mom's extremely hyped about this so I would like to come.) Because he's been dragging his feet figuring out his schedule we get into another argument, which then carries back into our argument from yesterday.
9pm: Answer some emails and book a flight for my return trip because my sister is going to her dream college and I want to be with her on visit week ($156)
10pm: I'm trying to read my paper for tomorrow's meeting but it's not going well because we are still talking about our problems
12pm: We cuddle and sleep. Argument's not resolved because neither wants to give
Total: 19 (Food) + 156 (Plane)
[Wednesday]
6am: wake. notice that it's 6am and go back to sleep
7am: wake and wake up bf. He's leaving today and so we cuddle, but like sadly (LDR, whats new.) Eventually I get hungry so I go and munch on plums. I am a bit distracted because I have a lot of meetings that I'm not well prepared for.
8:30am: catch bus. We joke a bit about yesterday's argument. Eventually, say goodbye when I transfer trams. I watch a video to prepare for my first meeting on the tram. Then I have a meeting, read to prepare for next meeting, rinse, repeat. Go out to eat with coworkers ($18)--conversations are so awkward (because of me. I don't have the extra mental capacity to try socializing with overworked dudes 4 years older than me and I've lost a concerning amount of EQ over the course of my phd.)
2:00pm: After a particularly stressful meeting (went well, thanks to my clutch skills) I decide I need to take a walk outside as a break. I go to the bakery to buy a chocolatine and apple danish ($5). I am not even hungry. I am just retail theraping and desserts look cute and smell good. Head back and have string of meetings until the end of the day. Very angry about my schedule
5:30pm: say fuck it cuz my brain is shot and go home. Why am I the only one who leaves before 6? Isn't this supposed to be Europe? I hate working a 9-6.
6pm: eat dinner (ramen), shower with rice on the stove (no rice cooker), rice burns omg now the bottom of the pan is burnt. I soak the pan overnight and leave my personal pan out for people to use.
7pm: reddit as revenge procrastination. I make a note to buy steel wool for the burnt pan
9pm: start writing money diary. Have wayy too much fun writing money diary while snacking on Comte and aloe vera water
11pm: realize its late and I have to finish reading a paper for Friday. I read a bit of the paper
1am: sleep
Total: 23 (Food)
[Thursday]
6am: Wake and look at random stuff on reddit for an hour and a half. I don't feel that hungry so I head out to work.
8:30am: I am very sleepy for some reason. I don't have a lot of meetings today, so I check emails, slack, and find a manageable task for the day. I end up getting distracted dealing with administrivia (ugh visa work!) I see that I have a seminar I want to attend the night and mark that down too.
10am: I decide I should try doing something productive so I start brainstorming. It doesn't really get anywhere, but I've realized that I probably need to read another paper to get a better idea of what I should do.
12pm: Head out to eat with other interns. I get shawarama ($16.) Delicious. Head back for more meetings. I try to read a bit but my focus is pretty shot so I start doing a more chill writeup instead.
7pm: We are having drinks at a bar tonight, and it takes time for people to get ready so I work late. We head out to the bar, which is crowded. I order a burger and soda because I don't want to make my sickness worse ($20.) We have a good time chatting and I get closer with some coworkers I didn't know well.
7:45pm: I say goodbye and leave early. As I'm scrolling through my phone on the late night bus, I realize that I've missed the seminar. I'm legitimiately devastated. I was thinking this seminar would help a lot with me pushing through a huge bottleneck in my thesis that's been stressing me out for the last year. I panic message my labmate to ask if the seminar was recorded, and thank the fucking lord, buddha, allah, hayao miyazaki, yes. It was recorded. My pants on fire are doused, my soul is saved. I cannot wait to fucking graduate.
9pm: I get back and notice the cleaning lady's cleaned the burnt pan. I feel a bad but grateful. After showering I am tired as hell. I really can't work today, but I stubbornly stay awake thinking that if I lay in bed scrolling through eBay long enough I might recharge. It doesn't work but I find some really nice stuff (cool architectural glass vase from a designer whose stuff I usually hate, secondhand clothes from one of my fav designers, suitcase from a brand with a style that I love but quality that is absolute trash for its price, and a gift for my college friend for her next bday) that I want to bid on.
11pm: Sleep
Total: 36 (Food)
[Friday]
6am: Wake and look at videos but now with zen. I have come to terms with my laziness. I get out of bed at 7:30 instead of 7:45 (progress!) and I snack on the chocolatine from two days ago. I finally find the time and motivation to deal with some administrivia and I head to work. On my morning bus trips, I like to press my forehead against the cool window glass and zone out to stripes of greenery but today I'm thinking about eBay and how I might travel to go visit my favorite eBay stores in person lol. A quick google search shows that a roundtrip ticket is $200. Interesting.
12am: Nice lunch with coworkers at a bakery. I get a croissant sandwich ($6) and a gift for one of my coworker friends ($14).
4pm: I wrap up writing a draft and go chat and review some stuff for school and then catch up with my coworker friend to give her the gift. 6pm: Head to the grocery for a dinner salad, plums, and some orange-mango juice ($13). Look for steel wool but there is none???
6:30pm: shower because I feel a little under the weather.
8pm: call my bf and tell him some juicy gossip at work. He gets bored around the 1 hour mark.
11pm: I start working on my writeup for school. I message the dude who is receiving the writeup that it's gonna be late. He is really nice about it but I feel like I'm taking advantage of his kindness because I am always late. Disappointed in myself but not sure how to change.
1am: sleep
Total: 33 (Food)
[Saturday]
6am: wake. Seriously not motivated to continue the writeup. I waste time on eBay and youtube for 5 hours.
11am: get dressed, brush teeth, and look alive. I've been planning out my day a bit so I call my bf while I clean my room and check up on my fridge. I toss out a quarter kg of ground beef that I forgot to finish, it is two days past expiry. I take stock of what I need for meal prep this week (carrot, onion, meat, steel wool) and load up my laundry before heading to the grocery. I end up also getting a lightweight aluminum bowl (it says stainless steel though??) for washing, blueberries, dried mangos, mushroom medley ($35.) I make curry with rice for next week and rice balls to add to miso soup later.
4pm: Eat curry. I call my bf after and try to write my writeup but I get very frustrated over trying to understand a paper and complain to my bf
7pm: I head over to my friend's place for a going-away party. I feel a bit ambivalent about attending because I still have my writeup but I had already agreed to come and I will miss these people when they leave. I want to aim to leave around 9pm. The host's house is lovely and we have some great food.
9:40pm: I head back home, shower, and work on my writeup.
11pm: sleep
Total: 35 (Food)
[Sunday]
7am: wake. My wakeup time is off from normal but then I remember that today is daylight savings in Europe. I still feel tired so I end up watching some dumb videos on youtube. I bid on two items on eBay ($70...tentatively). My friend from uni messages me about meeting up to chat tonight. Hyped.
11:45am: I remember my clothes are still in the dryer. The landlord wants the laundry room free between 11am and 3pm for airbnb reasons. I rush down to grab them. I got there right on time because the landlord has 3 minutes on the washer left.
12pm: Heat up curry and eat it with an apple, some Comte, and a plum. I take a supplement with water. I've been forgetting to do that.
12:30pm: Start working on writeup. I am determined to finish it before there is no sun left so I can enjoy the outdoors a little this weekend. Have my bf on vc.
4pm: One of my bfs jokes lands the wrong way and we have to talk about it. I'm fuming mad because I'm wasting time here.
6pm: Facetime with my friend from college! It's been awhile so we catch up for a long time. 9pm: Heat dinner (curry) and eat. Then I go and read a bit more.
11pm: I have a bit of a mental breakdown because I can't finish the writeup by the weekend, and it's not because I don't have time, but because I have bad mental health around it. I have a long heart to heart with my bf over the phone. I cry a little. Life is sometimes hard and everyone's life is really hard at some point. At some point I just start rambling about nothing. I fall asleep at 1:30am.
Total: 70 (eBay)
[Monday]
4am: wake. I have a bit of a shitty morning because my eyes are still swollen. I woke up early to work on this writeup but tbh I'm barely awake and not in the mood. This was a bad idea. I intermittenly wake and sleep between 4am and 6am, of which at tail end I realize that I'm just playing myself for a fool and then I actually sleep for a good hour or so.
7:15am: Wake for real and get ready.
8:30am: Arrive at work. I buy yogurt ($2) and eat a banana while checking emails. I decide to use company time to work on my writeup because I'm blocked at work by someone else right now anyways (this is about as far as my lukewarm ass will r antiwork.)
12am: Lunch with coworkers. I have a sandwich I really don't care for ($10.) I'm a bit woozy from lack of sleep so I don't remember much. Also, I got my period.
1pm: Meetings, meetings, meetings. So many meetings.
6:30pm: Meetings end. Catch up with my intern friend before she leaves. Will miss her. I go the grocery to buy a baguette ($1) and then go to the fancy, overpriced but also conveniently-located-right-next-to-my-bus-stop bakery to get a croissant and chocolates for my period ($25.)
7:30pm: I grab Mickey D's because I want to. Fish filet sandwich, fries, chicken nuggets, and a soft drink ($18.)
8:00pm: zone out in bed and chat with my bf
11:00pm: Work on the writeup
1am: sleep
Total: 56 (Food)
[Reflections]
Weekly total:
Food + Drink: 207
Home + Clothes + Beauty (aka eBay): 70
Transport: 156
Honestly, this was the first time in a long time that I had done such a detailed review of my week. I was honestly a bit impressed by how often I wound up on eBay (ngl the times I'm on reddit, I'm oftentimes searching for new brands and designers I like, so that I can go find them...on eBay. It kind of feels a little like I may have a bit of a shopping addiction?) I use it wayy too often to cope. The nice thing about it is that I always find great deals on eBay, but I think it's probably time to switch hobbies.
Also, I need better work hygiene. Like sleep hygiene but for work. I might start going into the office weekends just so that I can wrap up stuff early, leave, and then actually have a weekend.
This week was a bit pricier than usual because I ate out for dinner and bought a plane ticket, but tbh it's not that ooc for me. Food is almost exactly the same as what I spend a week in the US and usually I budget 400/m for misc stuff so it seems like my habits haven't changed much even after moving lol. I know some people might balk at the idea of 800/m for food and 400/m discretionary spending on a 2k/m income but being no car + having the school pay for my insurance (& offering a lot of free things in general) + most importantly, no debt makes it less of a dangerous risk and more of a poor choice lmao. In Europe, I think I will end up spending more on misc things here than back in the US because Europe offers a higher density of concerts, entertainment, and designers that I like within a 30 euros train distance (and 200 euros plane distance for the ones I really like.) My personal preference is to spend <2 hours a month total thinking abt finances (so basically budgeting if I have a major life change + just going thru my CC statement and updating my tracker) so I am happy with how I spend and prefer to overspend a bit rather than think about it too much.
For those who are curious, my monthly budget here:
food (weekly): 70 for groceries + unavoidable 50 for eating with coworkers 3x a week
overall (monthly): 3700 (income) - 2500 (rents) = 1200 - 300 (food after sodexo) = 900 - 600 (misc spending) = 300 (base savings) + 1000 (relocation) = 1300 (total savings) + a bit more after tax return
Hope you enjoyed reading! I'm curious to see people's reactions.

2023.03.29 07:41 Confident_Impact_ How to make PowerPoint slides that don’t suck
How to make PowerPoint slides that don’t suck Are you tired of creating PowerPoint slides that don’t quite meet the mark? If so, you’ve come to the right place. In this blog post, we’ll provide you with some useful tips to help you make PowerPoint slides that are both visually appealing and informative. Whether you’re creating a presentation for school, work, or simply for fun, these tips will help you create stunning slides that will captivate any audience. Read on to learn more about how to make PowerPoint slides that don’t suck!
1) Use strong images One of the most important things you can do to make your PowerPoint slides stand out is to use strong, eye-catching images. Visuals can be a great way to engage your audience and help them to better understand the points you’re making. When choosing images for your slides, look for those that are high quality and relate to the content of your presentation. A powerful image will be more memorable than text alone and can help to keep the attention of your audience. Additionally, try to select images that will work well when projected on a large screen. Bright, bold colors and sharp lines are usually best for this purpose.
2) Keep it simple When it comes to creating slides for a presentation, the key is to keep it simple. Remember, less is more. Avoid cramming too much text on each slide. Instead, focus on one key point per slide and use visual elements like images and charts to highlight your message. Be mindful of the amount of text you’re adding and make sure it’s relevant to what you’re trying to say. If it’s not, remove it. You don’t want to overwhelm your audience with too much information. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so be sure to choose visuals that will help support your point. Keep your slides uncluttered, clean and concise.
3) Stick to a limited color palette Creating an eye-catching and effective PowerPoint presentation requires you to pay attention to the colors you use. When it comes to selecting colors, it’s best to stick to a limited palette that complements your content. This will create a cohesive look for your presentation and keep viewers from getting overwhelmed by too much color.
When selecting colors for your slides, choose a few colors that are related in terms of hue, saturation, or lightness. If you want to include an accent color, make sure it doesn’t clash with the other colors and is still easy to read. Additionally, using a lighter and darker version of the same color can also be helpful for creating visual contrast.
To ensure your colors are well-balanced and aesthetically pleasing, use a color wheel as a reference when selecting hues. And don’t forget to use the same colors consistently throughout your presentation so that the slides have a unified look. By following these tips, you’ll be able to create slides with a harmonious color palette that stands out and catches people’s attention.
4) Use typography to your advantage Using the right typeface can take your PowerPoint presentation to the next level. It’s important to consider how typefaces communicate certain messages and feelings to your audience. Choose a font that is easy to read, has clear contrast, and creates a pleasant aesthetic.
When it comes to choosing fonts for your presentation, look for fonts that are modern and professional. Stick with simple fonts that are clean and uncluttered, as these will make the information you’re presenting easier to digest. Avoid using too many different fonts in one slide, as this can be visually overwhelming.
Pay attention to the size of your font, too. Use larger fonts for headlines and titles, and smaller ones for body text. Make sure there is enough contrast between text sizes to ensure legibility. It’s also a good idea to use different weights of fonts in your presentation — like bold or italics — to emphasize important words or phrases.
Overall, the right combination of font choices can create an engaging and effective presentation. Keep it simple and consistent, and your audience will appreciate the effort you put in to make your slides look great.
5) Create custom graphics Creating custom graphics is one of the best ways to make your PowerPoint slides stand out. You can easily create custom images for your slides using a variety of software programs, such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. You can also find royalty-free images online that you can use to customize your slides.
When creating custom graphics, make sure that they are relevant to the content of your slide and not just eye candy. You should also consider creating a consistent look and feel across all of your slides. This will help keep your presentation unified and polished.
When using images, make sure to use the highest quality possible. Pixelated images will make your presentation look unprofessional, so always use images that have a high resolution.
Finally, consider adding custom elements to your slides, such as icons or arrows. These small touches can go a long way in making your slides look more professional and engaging.
6) Think outside the box When creating PowerPoint slides, it’s important to think outside of the box in order to create something that stands out and catches the attention of your audience. Instead of relying on the same templates and layouts that everyone else is using, take some time to brainstorm ideas for a presentation that is truly unique. Consider incorporating unconventional elements like interactive elements, bold colors, and innovative fonts to make your slides stand out from the crowd. Additionally, you can use diagrams and charts to illustrate complex topics in an easy-to-understand way. Finally, don’t be afraid to experiment with different types of media such as videos, audio, and animations. By thinking outside of the box, you can create slides that are interesting, engaging, and effective.
7) Use animation sparingly Animations can be a great way to draw attention to important points or make slides more dynamic, but it’s important to use them sparingly. Too much animation can be distracting and take away from the point of your presentation. When using animation, choose subtle transitions and focus on using it to emphasize key points. Don’t rely on animations to entertain or dazzle the audience — if your content isn’t engaging enough without them, then it’s probably time to revise your slides. Animations should only be used when they add value to your presentation.

ZK-Wednesday Edition. Zero. Knowledge. Proofs. Yesterday, three – I repeat, 3 – ZK Protocols raced to become the first to launch a ZK-based mainnet. Matter Labs won, successfully launching ZKSync’s “Era” mainnet for public use, followed by Polygon’s ZK-EVM rollup which also went live on mainnet; and Starkware, launched Ethereum-tested ZK-proofs on the Bitcoin blockchain. How coincidentally does such a big step forward for the entire industry happen all in one day? One thing’s for sure: this new narrative is taking center stage, right now. Binance’s CZ responds to CFTC charges, and while it still remains as a civil lawsuit there are elements of a potential criminal lawsuit ahead. The same play was made on Arthur Hayes, who ended up serving jail time in house arrest – coincidentally, right before the bull run of 2021. Does history repeat itself?? Let’s find out! Major bad news hitting the press, and BNB takes a measly 5% hit. BTC held firm at $26,800. DEXs vs CEXs volume ratio has reached its ATH. And more Bitcoin has been leaving exchanges than since December ‘22. 2023.03.29 07:02 stel1234 [Meta] The Best Of /r/mashups: February 2023
Introduction
It's time to unveil another installment of the monthly best-of
/mashups list. Sorry for the delay.
In creating this list, newer metrics were made available to mods last year. These are:
- Total Views
- Upvote Rate
- Community Karma
- Shares
The new metric we're the most interested in is total views. Views are important because it can help identify submission engagement rate, something we couldn't do before. In an era where native video provides faster growth than YouTube links, engagement is really helpful in identifying potentially underrated mashups that could have gotten higher upvote counts if they were viewed by more users.
With this mind, the list consists of mashup submissions from three tiers summing up to 20 total:
- Tier 1: Most upvoted (30+ considered, 10 selected)
- Tier 2: 2500 post views or more, sorted by engagement rate (20+ considered, less than 10 selected)
- Tier 3: All other mashups, sorted by engagement rate (20+ considered, less than 10 selected)
10 mashups from Tier 1, 6 from Tier 2, and 4 from Tier 3 were selected to form the list you see below.
Mashups that made the list were not only in key, on tempo, and properly structured for the most part, but stood out enough in some way. All mashups selected were full length in their original posts, or demos with full versions available.
For variety, no more than two mashups using the same song were included (priority to higher vote tiers first).
A huge congratulations to all those who made the compilation! I've tagged you in responses. The List

Quality of life. There is apparently no interest in quality of life at Ableton HQ. The last great update was MIDI capture. 5 years ago. Since day 1 I've wanted to change the default key binds for the software. It's been 7 years since I began working with Ableton and the closest I have is LES + AutoHotkey with Oversampled's script which only covers most of the bases of what Live could potentially do. Max 4 Live has been a lifesaver as well for many of the features which Ableton STILL lacks. Granular, AZ Lab's Pad slicing mode, and Push 2 Arrangement Mode to name a few.
I still can't get over the fact that they haven't added a control + highlight feature after people have slowly been realizing the lack of it over a span of 10 years or so. It's not a necessity but it's little things like that which pushed me away from mouse and keyboard to the simplicity of Push's workflow (pun intended). I also was really hoping when the cloud feature was announced that it would finally allow us to easily share projects with each other by collecting all and saving with the exception of only needing to freeze/print tracks with plugins that others might not have. This would've been a game changer for me and my friends when we want to share the stems of our projects without the use of dropbox or google drive and the hassle that comes with that.
The Note app is a great addition to Ableton's lineup but the integration with other mobile/tablet applications is extremely limited and its features are so limited in general that it barely serves as a musical sketchpad. I've had plenty of other gripes about Ableton's software in the past about a lack of features as new technology is released such as integrating stem-splitting AI as an audio effect or max 4 live device. This is a feature on a handful of mobile music apps like Koala which I frequently have to set up when working in Ableton. I'll leave it there for Ableton's software.
I've had a Push 2 for a couple of years and it's been great for creating and getting ideas down without tediously clicking in piano roll or drawing automation lanes- that sort of thing. It's an amazing device for sampling and so far nothing beats the possibilities of the "hardware DAW". I have many other praises and reasons for preferring the device to anything else on the market to this day but that's not why I'm here. That being said, I can't stand the lighting power options. I understand USB C wasn't popularized until after the development of Push 2 was completed but this is no excuse for not having a rerelease or new model almost 10 years later. This seemingly simple solution to a major flaw in the device is what has me writing this portion of the review in the first place. After purchasing Push it seems like every change I've made to my home studio revolves around getting the thing to be more flexible. I purchased a MyVolts cable in order to power it from a power bank. I originally purchased a laptop and portable speaker for mobile production until I recently purchased a steam deck and set up VBan with my phone so I can use the Push anywhere I want with minimal issues getting audio on any speaker I want and close to 0 latency. Another note, its size. I can't take it anywhere unless it's the only thing in my bag. I have to be extra gentle when carrying it that way because the only solutions to travel are glorified tupperware (Decksaver) and Analog Cases (the standard in bulky but reliable cases since forever). I purchased an Analog case and I rarely use it because it has to be checked on a flight and it's way too bulky to make it on any road trips. No way around it when packing. Nothing new here, music equipment will always be impossible to haul for a number of reasons. Maybe it's not in Ableton's best interest to continue with Push development but it sure would've saved me a lot of headaches and money if they did. Not to mention the other issues I have with the device.
There are so many buttons on Push which, coming from a company that prides itself on creating software with fully integrated UI, is ridiculous. I understand a lot of passion and hard work went into creating the interface of the device revolving around the software. There's a reason the creators have their signatures on the back panel of every device. However, they did not meet the mark when it comes to conciseness and ease of use. It takes multiple button combinations to accomplish what can be done with a single mouse click in the software. I'm aware of many people who have the same complaints in their reviews of the Push. I also understand that this device was intended more for live performance but in my opinion, they targeted the wrong audience. There is also a major lack of functionality when it comes to changing parameters and many important functions of Ableton and VSTs alike. So much has to be MIDI mapped before Push is even remotely close to being a full solution for mouse and keyboard. As someone who takes pride in owning a Push, it is becoming increasingly difficult to justify the price combined with a lack of flexibility and native Ableton features. I haven't recommended it to anyone in a while even though it truly has a monopoly on Ableton hardware integration for obvious reasons.
With the steam deck I purchased, I was able to map almost all of the features of the Push (plus a few software features that it lacks) onto a controller with around 80+ total inputs/ combos which are all easily accessible on 16 (give or take) buttons of the device using the activator options through steam controller mapping. I've playtested these controls with a few friends and we made them at least twice as intuitive as Push 2's interface. This covers almost all of Ableton's necessary features and provides a great handheld and portable solution to music production for half the price of Push 2. Push only accomplishes a similar feat on around 60 buttons with a handful of combinations on top of that totaling around 70 possible inputs/ combos. This is obviously leaving out a lot of the draw to Push being mostly screenless and having a lot of buttons to accomplish exactly that. My argument for the deck is portability and ease of use. I could go on but for the sake of anyone reading this far, consult experienced people before purchasing a specific piece of music hardware, and don't make the same mistakes that we do by not studying up before making purchases or you'll be extremely let down by what you receive.
Edit: forgot to mention the lack of audio drivers in Ableton. The reason so many people come to this subreddit with audio device issues. ASIO is great and most audio interfaces solve the problem entirely but it still baffles me why they wouldn’t create their own like many other DAWs have. Quality of life.
TLDR Ableton is a groundbreaking DAW with plenty of near-necessary features which other DAWs don't provide, but it will quickly be left in the dust if they continue to slow development and procrastinate listening to customer feedback. And when the right group of software developers comes along they will easily take Ableton's place in a heartbeat. Push 2 became outdated the day it was released and continues to become more of a relic to own today. New technology and hardware on the market makes a good argument for the discontinuation of Push, but nothing beats the feeling of a well-designed piece of music hardware when developed by a forward-thinking team. Hopefully, others will agree that while Ableton does a lot of the heavy lifting for music producers, they need to take development and updates to the next level in order to stay ahead of the game. Thanks for reading!

2023.03.29 04:20 coopers_hooman Important trading data to view on charts
Guys what do you think of this new feature request?
- Import trading data - See trade execution on the intraday charts by importing data adjusted to TV's software.
- This will allow us to identify our biases that lead to repeat losses
- The awareness of these biases can improve our analysis.
- Improved analysis will lead to better execution and more trading profits!
I have found a software which allows this simple feature but i am too comfortable with TradingView to switch. I am also aware that trading data is visible for few brokers but my broker is not integrated with tradingview and U dont want to change my broker.
Right now i manually mark my trades but it is exhausting.
Please upvote this message so Trading View developers can prioritize the development of Trading data import feature.
Cheers!

2023.03.29 04:00 kahthey Passed in 75 after failing in 75. 5 YEARS out of nursing school, you CAN do it!
Just wanted to spread a little positivity to those who feel like giving up because they've failed or they graduated so long ago. I graduated in May of 2018 and I'd say I was an average student grade-wise throughout nursing school but I was overwhelmed after graduating and decided to take a "break." This break then led to life happening: getting married, moving across the country, deciding to take my NCLEX on a whim 8 months after graduating with only having done MAYBE 60 questions max on UWorld thinking "I got this!"- I in fact did not "have this" and failed in about 189 questions. I convinced myself this was just a fluke and scheduled to retake it for the second time as soon as the 45 days passed. I started studying again, did more UWorld questions, was studying Saunders and had even signed up for the Kaplan review, but life happened once again and I was thrown a curveball in the form of a divorce. I spiraled into a depression but chose not to reschedule my exam and this time: I failed in 75. I moved back home and tabled nursing as I had to take care of myself and my mental health. The pandemic happened, went back into hospitality as this was what I knew and was even advancing career wise in my field. Yet I woke up one day and realized that while I was good at what I was doing, it wasn't the career I wanted and with support from my family & boyfriend- I quit my job in November of 2022 and began the process of getting my ATT again.
How I did it:
I began my journey studying in December by going to the library 5 days a week for 8 hours at a time. That first month I focused on reading Saunders Comprehensive review on the subjects I downright could not remember while I waited for my state to get back to me about my ATT. By early January when I was finally able to schedule my NCLEX and I knew I wanted to avoid the Next Gen so I scheduled for mid March in another city. At this point I stopped reading the Saunders book and found the Mark Klimex's audios and someones 91 pages of notes (whoever you are, THANK YOU.) I started every morning at the library by doing 60 UWorld questions and then STUDYING the shit out of the rationale, as in not moving on until I understood the "why" (by the end I filled an entire notebook on just UWorld notes.) Afterwards I'd take a 45 minute lunch outside and go right back inside to listen to one Klimex audio a day and follow along with the notes I printed and add my own alongside. When I finished all 12 audios I turned my second half of studying into watching all of Simple Nursings pharmacology videos and taking notes on each one as well. These are the notes I would read every night before bed. I built good testing habits and saw my UWorld scores go from below average in the 30's-40's to maintaining above average in the mid 60's and higher. A week and half before my test I had finished the entire UWorld question bank. I took this time to go over ALL my notes but also I slowed down on my 5-6 days at the library and truly relaxed- the weekend prior I went on a 2 night vacation and was just going over my notes for about 4ish hours a day. I drove to the city I'd be testing at the day prior to my NCLEX and re-listened to Klimex's lecture 12.
On the day of my exam I wasn't nervous, I didn't feel like I was going to throw up like I did the other two times. I walked into the testing center with a game plan: you're sitting for all 145 questions- no expectations, take your time and read EVERY question and answer choice, use the white board provided to "cross out" answer options, take a break every 40 questions, eat your snacks and just breathe. When I took my break at 40 questions I remember already being over an hour into the exam but I took my time to use the bathroom, eat some snacks I brought and just give myself words of affirmation because I was starting to internally freak out over the fact that the test felt too easy so far. I sat back down and when I saw question 70 I told myself "10 more and you can go eat another snack again!" You can imagine my face when it shut off at 75. Think Pikachu surprise face. I didn't let myself freak out because I truly felt like I KNEW what I was answering. Went out to dinner with some family in town that night and couldn't resist doing the Pearson Vue trick: I GOT THE GOOD POP-UP. I didn't want to get my hopes too high and was still waiting the 48 hours for the quick results. Turns out my boyfriend was looking for my name on my states BON and by 1PM the next day (24 hours after my test) my license was posted!
I officially passed 13 days ago, and received my license in the mail on Thursday and it still feels surreal. If you've read this far, I just want to say thank you and please believe in yourself, you WILL pass. One day at a time. There were days that I'd cut my studying short because I was overwhelmed but I learned it's about continuing to pick yourself up and believing in yourself, leaning on those who are there for you.
TL;DR: Graduated in May of 2018, life happened, took the NCLEX twice in 2019- failed both times. Fast forward 4ish years and realized I wasn't happy in my career field. Quit my job, studied full time, and passed my NCLEX in 75 question on March 15th. If you really want something, you CAN do it.

2023.03.29 02:43 Icy_History_4728 Report
People ask me how was your trip. I'm much better at describing what happened than at giving a response. I could actually use your help. How would you describe the experience after reading it? I read other people's reports and admire how they can be concise and insightful. I'm also jealous when I see these blissful, healing, and peaceful moments described. But it is what it is. I also was a bit self-conscious during the writing because I was thinking about the possibility that the people involved may end up reading it. I tried to be as honest as I could to reflect my own experience.
Did it on a naturalist beautiful setting. With a facilitator I didn't know beforehand and overheard about him a day earlier. He was a bit of an hectic dude. Never really with you, always doing many things at once, as well as sudden stops while driving to the setting. I was hesitant but felt that his intentions are good and when the lights will be on, it will be fine.
I talked to him a night before and he said a doctor is going to be there, his friend. On the way to the setting, we were all in the same mini van (not the tidiest / comfortable and trust inducing I've seen), and the guy said he never graduated but worked In a hospital. He didn't want to say what he did there but he was talking about the hotrible dids of big pharmaceutical. All this didn't add to the trust. I still felt it's alright, his hurt was In the right place. Oh, and there were 2 big black restless barking dogs.
It was the facilitator and a few others holding space with instruments. He said he has done +200 ceremonies. I did it with another participant who was also in his head and scared, and critical. I was told each one will do it separately when the other one is watching.
I was anxious but was feeling OK that i am handling it. Was doing deep breathing. Wrote my intentions. Then the other participant kind of shove a lighter in my head without asking me, while both I'm busy writing and self reflecting just befor its my turn. Felt inconsiderate and disrespectful but I was too pre occupied to pay attention and understand what's going on.
Now, as a usual pattern, I was blaming myself for that (beaten wife syndrome?). Because just befor that, he was loudly and anxiously sharing with the facilitator, that he had an emotional breakdown last time he took psychedelics. It's the second time I heard him sharing that with another person, not me, but right in my ears. Since it was just before my turn to smock, and i was writing my intentions, I felt the need to move away. But I immediately felt bad and scared he will feel rejected when he is already as he is. So I came back and did a bit of weird turn to pretend i wasn't trying to move away. All showing uncertainty, indecisiveness amd weakness.
I asked him what to do with the lighter (it was for burning the paper of what I want to let go), he madly bursts at me: idk ask the facilitator! That didn't feel right to enter in that state but I didn't know what else to do. In my reflecting later I understood how this is one of the things I wanted to manifest: assertiveness and standing up for myself. Fucking stand up for myself when someone pisses on you. This is so hard for me to do. Especially with men, due to unresolved trauma with a mad, jealous and abusing brother.
So yes. Stand up, even before a ceremony, it doesn't matter! It won't make things worse or what ever excuse I had in my head. I could stand up for myself using I statements. Or anything that isn't necessarily confrontational. But boy was that hard. Confronting that scared man who didn't seem to be mindful of the impact of his actions and body language at all, or just didn't care. Before entering my mat, I looked at him and said good luck. I was trying to appease things and get some acknowledgment of mutual support. He briefly replied but it didn't really help. I guess that was me trying to control things, or rather actually solve things which is good and could have worked in other circumstances.
I stepped in my mat, preparing to smock a light dose, I was very worried about that guy, trust me, it didn't feel good having this severe scowling face, standing in the supposed to be his designated area, the participant area on my left. I could feel his energy and I was as tense as it can get. He was in my energy field. And an energetic split has occurred. I had a few people support me on my side, and this guy on my left. I started feeling anxious and bad, damn if I say something damn if I don't.
I moves the facilitator away and told him he was aggressive, he sais he is just scared. I stepped back to my mat, and for some very odd reason, the facilitator decided to call that guy to my mat. Explaining us something about the setting. He already explained befor to both of us, so, thinking afterwards, it felt like a forced attempt to "bring us together", or to not make him feel isolated. Which it shouldn't. It was set in advance to be every one doing it separately.
So this caused my anxious state to go to the roof. He stayed behind me on my mat, standing there, with his not calming state /energy to say thr lease. I felt trapped. Didn't want to create "separation or fear ". For me it feels like a awful accusation," to spread fear instead of love". But this absulit bullocks! Self care and bounderies is everything's but fear. Its beautiful. Its pure bliss. Its life preservation. Was judging myself all this spiritual chatter that I should create oneness not fear, hence crating more guilt and shame to the all plate, also wondering if the others judge me for that. But I felt very unsafe so I had to set bounderies. There was no choice. I was afraid that setting this boundery will make the trip worse because he will feel rejected and I'll be responsible for that.
But no time, here we go. I just hinted to the facilitator about it, and his response was sub optimal. He asked everyone to move back. No dumbass! I need these guys and feel their support! You just need to say to that dude to back off to his designated area as fucking agree upon!
I just turned around and said thanks to all of them, making eye contact with them, hinting to them that my issue is not with them! I love them and their calming presence. It was very confusing. As is the character of the facilitator. I didn't want this guy to feel excluded so I looked at him and said to him thanks too. He just very briefly looked back, it wasn't the kind of energy I needed that moment. The last interaction befor smocking, what I needed was support and acceptance. Why was I looking for that instead of protecting myself?
But, I guess, hello people pleaser?! Hello self sabotage pattern.
Anyway, I smocked a light dose, sitting down. It was bliss. A very good experience. But that split was there. Him on that left side. Made it hard to let go and feel at ease and comfortable. I stood up back pretty fast. Got another dose. 30mg. Lied down. It was bliss. Not sure how to describe it. I was still feeling self conscious at some points because of that person's present and my fears around it. But for some brief moments I was gone. Then back. Then gone again.
At one point I felt one with everyone but I was resisting it because I felt like I need to protect myself from feeling one with everyone including him. And his struggles. That I will take it as mine, as well as his ancestors, and that will be too much. I know myself and my sensitivity. And indeed it was too strong and had to consciously get back to myself to tap my feet and shake myself of it, to get back thre sense of self. Having his mad image in my head at that point was extremely terrifying, I literally had a panic attack and I had to fight it off.
I tried recalling my intentions, positive self talk being one of them, and felt an instant relief. I could finally surrender to bliss. Had a slight smile on my face. I was very quickly back up. Was dancing a bit. The facilitator asked if I want to go deeper. I barley knew what he is talking about but I felt like going with his instincts. Let's go! I am here for a breakthrough and become free of this same anxiety and stress and social anxiety that it is killing me. That Is causing me to be lonely, no friends or partners. So let's go!! It's time!!! I can do it!
Did this time 60mg. I had no idea how much is in there, found out later. I inhaled and lied down, exhaling just a bit. He was telling me "hold it hold it". I was afraid of having a bad one because of not feeling comfortable. So exhaled unintentionally just a bit then kept holding.
Lied down, I was gone. It was pretty much the same as last time. But more used to it, I was gone a bit far more this time. Surrendering. But also felt like surrender makes me not live the experience, just subcomining to what ever comes. Like a lifeless body. But I was mostly just letting anything happen. It was peaceful, it was slight disappointment of coming back quickly.
One thing I noticed is that focusing on calming techniques like counting breaths or remember intentions or anything from the mind was sometimes helpful but sometimes felt strange and counter productive.
They were pouring water on my face which felt good. Tapping my body. I was scared I am dying or that I passed out and they are trying to keep me alive.
Shortly enough I was happy to get back to my senses. I sat down in lotus position. Peace and calm. Stood up and felt very alive and happy to be back. That it's over. And I'm ok.
After math :
I think I got a bit more anxious then I used to be, a week later. I'm tapping myself on my chest very often in social situations. Without even noticing! Very susceptibile and sensitive to others state, feeling nasua and obnoxious when a women is standing over my shoulders on a long ride bus because she has a feet issue, although there are plenty of free sits. I can feel her sickness and energy and / suffering and i struggle with not feeling sick myself.
I felt very vulnerable and not good for a while, had some romantic failure, an extremely hot women was showing romantic interest in me in the day of the ceremony. I was giving off very good and fun energy I guess. She wanted me to join her travels, I did, then I fell back in my anxiety and stress (if she will reject me or not, will i fuck it up or not), and she lost interest, so that was a long painful free fall as we were both in the same hostel for a few days. It's a trigger because it's a patten, hot women find me initially attractive then quickly abandon me).
On the first few days I felt out of sorts and couldn't do my self care routines. Was eating unhealthy. Couldn't journal or meditate coherently. Was escaping to my phone a lot. But I caught myself and trying to not fall back to theee habits. Rather continue my good habits and healthy lifestyle I started a few months ago. Sunlight exposure, workouts, healthy food, sleep, social connections.
My online new psychologist said: "can we be more careful next time, not causing more emotional harm on the our quest to heal, which only causes more harm"? I don't know if she is right, could be just a matter of how I look at it and what I focus on. Positive or not positive aspects of the experience.
I'm hanging in there. And full of hope that the realizations and benefits, besides those I already had, can be manifested in the long run. Aho.
What I learned. To be more assertive. More empathetic. But I already new that.
I can't control other people's thoughts or states. As painful as it is to discover this..
My own well being is a big priority. Without self care. Bounderies. I can't take care of anyone else and am good to no one. So shame can go out the window.
TL;DR (feels a bit impersonal, but good enough, made by CHATPTG): I attended a ceremony in a natural setting, facilitated by a hectic but well-intentioned individual, along with another participant who was struggling with his own fears. The experience was marked by my anxiety, self-consciousness, and the need to assert boundaries with the other participant. Despite these challenges, I experienced moments of bliss and oneness. After the ceremony, I felt more vulnerable and sensitive, but I'm focusing on self-care and healthy habits. Key lessons include the importance of assertiveness, empathy, and prioritizing my own well-being

2023.03.29 01:33 autotldr 'We will be with you,' visiting Czech speaker tells Taiwan
This is the best tl;dr I could make,
original reduced by 57%. (I'm a bot)
Taipei, March 28 The visiting speaker of the lower house of the Czech parliament, Markéta Pekarová Adamová, affirmed her country's ties with Taiwan in a speech at the Legislative Yuan and said her nation "Will be with" Taiwan.
Adamová, who heads the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech parliament, arrived in Taiwan on Saturday with a 160-person delegation, the largest ever from the Czech Republic.
The 38-year-old speaker hailed the affinity between Taiwan and the Czech Republic, noting that both sides had walked through their respective thorny paths to gradually move toward democratization in the 1990s.
On Tuesday, Adamová was awarded a medal by Legislative Speaker You Si-kun in recognition of her efforts to promote relations between the Czech Republic and Taiwan in the areas of trade, culture, and technology.
Beijing has condemned the Czech speaker for visiting Taiwan, warning that her visit would have "An adverse impact" on the bilateral relationship between China and Czechia.
Since her arrival in Taiwan, Adamová has met with several top government officials, including President Tsai Ing-wen, Premier Chen Chien-jen, and Foreign Minister Joseph Wu. She is the first Czech lower house speaker to visit Taiwan, but her visit followed that of Czech Senate President Miloš Vystrčil in late August 2020.

2023.03.29 00:24 Professor_squirrelz Can you recommend me a 2-1 laptop for under $2000 (USA)?
LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE - Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:
I would prefer to stay under $2000USD but my budget is flexible. I’m purchasing it in the United States.
*my laptop NEEDS to be windows. No Mac or Chromebook.
- Are you open to refurbs/used?
No
- How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
I’m looking for a 2-in-1 but I’m open to looking at regular laptops too if they are a really good match and deal to what I want. Battery life is extremely important to me, I’m not interested in a laptop with a battery life under 10 hours of moderate use. Build quality- I would like my laptop to last me for at least 5 years. Performance- I don’t need something that’s super high performance, I’m not planning on doing any hard gaming, but I do need a laptop that can handle many tabs open, coding, programming, and using programs like CAD. I need at least 16GB of RAM but I prefer 32GB.
- How important is weight and thinness to you?
I don’t care much about the thinness of the laptop as long as it can fit in most backpack laptop compartments. I’m not too picky on weight either, but I do plan on carrying my laptop with me in my backpack probably a few times a month. Nothing too heavy.
- Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.
13inch-15.6ish inches
- Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
Yes. I’m not a hardcore gamer nor will I be, but I would like to do occasional gaming like Elden Ring. I will be using CAD as an amateur, it’s not for professional use. I would like to do some hobby video and photo editing, again, nothing professional.
- If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
N/A I think?
- Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
I do need an SSD card slot and at least 1Terabyte of storage with the ability to upgrade storage. I would really like a finger-print reader but it’s not necessary. My computer is mostly going to be for general use and graduate school (psychology). I do have a few different projects/skills I would like to work on in the next couple of years however, hence the CAD, coding, programming and editing. I also would like the opportunity to record and edit audio from my digital piano. And if possible, I would love to have a head phone Jack port.
- Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
I’m very flexible on price. I’m a long-term MacBook Pro user who now wants to switch to a windows laptop so I’m not really familiar with all the details or specs of non-Mac laptops. Also, while it’s definitely not a requirement, I’d love a laptop that is sleek and looks nice, and that comes in a pretty color (not black, white or silver)
Thanks!

Hello Reddit,
I'd like to invite you to join my gaming community. We just wiped on March 20, 2023. The server is built around the community and not the map. DayZ is an amazing game, but after a while, maps get stale, boring and we all fade out and loose interest. On my server we will be swapping out maps from time to time to keep things interesting and fresh. Same people, same play style, same mod set (within reason), new challenges. That said, we just moved on to Banov so I expect we'll be here for a while.
The community is an older, more mature crowd and we're pretty cooperative with more of a PVE Mindset. That said PVP is legal everywhere. The threat of death should be ever present. In all, I would say that the community promotes good sportsmanship and we lack any toxic drama for which I have zero tolerance.
The Black Winter theme is really one of just regular folks making due with what's left. Although I have some amazing weapon mods in place, I've only picked out 1 or 2 civilian weapons from each to add to our theme. There are a few "item pack mods" installed as well but again, only a select couple items have made it into play.
A lot of attention has been placed on Quality of Life - both good and bad.
The economy has been reduced as follows:
Category - Usage - Reduced by %
- Clothes - Military - 80%
- Clothes - Farm, Village, Town, Industrial, School, Hunting, Coast - 30%
- Clothes - Police, Medic, Firefighter - 50%
- Containers - Military - 80%
- Containers - Village, Hunting, Industrial, Farm, Coast, Hunting, Medic, Town, Village, School - 35%
- Explosives - Military - 80%
- Explosives - Police - 50%
- Food - All - 50%
- Industrial Food - All - 50%
- Tools - All - 30%
- Weapons - Military - 80%
- Weapons - Police - 50%
- Weapons - Civilian - 30%
I've offset the challenging start for freshies by adding airdrops to a few locations near the largest spawn clusters. These airdrops will contain the basics like, insulated clothing, food, medicine, and basic weapons and ammo. Enough to get you on your feet. Careful going to an air drop though, you might not be the only starving person in need..
My target audience is the mature gamer who would like to build a cozy base, do some hunting and fishing and chat with some new folks and go on some adventures. Maybe shoot at a nerd when the mood is right =)
We currently have a very solid group of regulars, mature professionals who just want to unwind after a day at work and hide from the kids while trying to get lost in the world we're building together. This is an excellent server to meet some folks and start your Banov adventure.
We do have a couple of "light" role players. Nothing to "hark who art thou" - but I think all of our game play is along the lines of, this is me and this is what I'd do in the apocalypse. Meet up conversations are usually focused on what we're doing in the game.
Quick and Dirty FAQ.
- There is no trader, though a player suggested he may be working towards that.
- In game map, you need to find a map to use the M key. You need to find a GPS and have iton to see your location on the map. 3D Marks are disabled.
- Is KOS Legal? Yes ( player interactions are what make this game special ) Just because it's legal, doesn't mean it's required. Most of player interactions are positive and cooperative.
- Is there global chat? No - but there are TacSat Radio's and Field Radios that won't despawn - some players chatter via radio. The white noise adds to the ambience =).
- Time is not persistent so your base will need a flag. Anything without a flag icon at your base should be in a container or may poof.
- Check the discord for crafting recipes and base building recipes in the tips and recipes section.
- Press the pause key for the Server Information Panel - Rules, and details in there.
- Some of my players have been giving feedback in the days since wipe; their misery is perfectly on point. The economy is a challenge, but not impossible. You will need to prioritize getting warm, fed, and hydrated first and foremost. There are no natural foods (apples, mushrooms etc cuz winter reasons) so don't waste your time looking there.
Hope to see you in game!

"President Xi said that by 2030 he wanted China to be the preeminent country in AI research and development. Putin has said that whoever controls AI controls the future," Frederick said…
On AI bias, Gade gave examples of associations and stereotypes that AI can fall for since they are relying so heavily on the internet. One example, he said, is that AI might conclude that women are almost always associated with "fashion or beauty" or that certain religions are tied to violence….
Imagine a hack shifting the software into the ultimate phishing, hacking and emotionally manipulating machine you can imagine," he said. "It has the brain power of Albert Einstein installed plus years of private data, audio recordings of your entire family’s voices and with its speech synthesis standard software."
Revelation 13:15-17 King James Version 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Its not hard to imagine a post nuclear world where Russia and China are on top and America is a smoking hole. Just like the pandemic where if youve not had your injection you cant buy or sale with AI overseeing the whole system. Wine and oil and bread would be scarce and the economy of earth crashed. The moneytables flipped thats what happens when you buy and sale in the body. The rich man in hell tormented in the flames wanting a drop of water on his tongue. Lazarus in the bosom.

2023.03.28 22:46 Ok_Scale502 The longest Swans tracks
Seeing that The Body Lovers/Haters project will supposedly be brought back with its final part in a 44 minute epic on the upcoming Swans album, I wanted to discuss opinions on some of the lengthiest Swans songs. Specifically the 40+ minute ones, Bring the Sun is pussy shit. A lot of these tracks can be overlooked in the Swans discography, but I'll start with the most popular, working down.
The Knot (45:38): From the live album deliquescence, I believe this is an earlier interpretation of this song? This is the most known version out there, with this exclusively being a live piece from the glowing man tour. This is the most transcendental Swans song, maybe not the most epic, but transcendent. There aren't many other songs within their discography that go to these peaks, let alone in the way it does. It can be a little meandering, but it's justified with it's structure and due to the fact this is partially improvised. Other performances of this song I've seen on YouTube have ended up shorter, but this is the version everyone talks about anyway.
The SeeBring the Sun/Toussaint L'Ouverture (44:32): As many fans know, the longest cut from trilogy era Swans on their studio albums were essentially a heavily modified version of I Crawled, with the final evolution of this piece becoming The Glowing Man. This is the longest recorded evolution of this piece, coming out on the live album Not Here/Not Now. This is one I will revisit someday, but I will say that this is probably the most adventurous and expansive version of this song. It really feels like an epic journey, if its To Be Kind counterpart didn't already feel like that enough. The way they combine the earlier The Seer with their new ideas actually flows very well and stays engaging throughout the entire thing. I'd most recommend watching the live performance on this, which can be easily found on YouTube.
Look At Me Go (46:07): This is one of the most overlooked pieces in Swans cannon, which is honestly pretty understandable. Not everyone knows about it, as it was a limited release and is essentially an avant garde drone reworking of the entire My Father album, so it's mostly recycled material and makes it debateable if this really counts as an original song or just some kind of heavily warped Frankenstein monster of a remix. All that aside however, this thing should not be ignored, with the recycled material turning out to be some of the most intense music Gira ever released, the ending of this piece could potentially be called the most intense and noisy moment in the Swans cannon. But again, it isn't the most original work, so it's amazing that this ends up being as intense and dark as it is.
Cloud of Unknowing (approx 52 min.): Lastly wanted to shout out the longest live performance of a Swans song, Cloud of Unknowing at Warsaw Brooklyn in 2017. I don't know much about this performance, and there doesn't exist any live video or audio recordings of it, so the attendees of this show have the fortune of being the only people to hear this nearly 1 hour monster supposedly. Hopefully the length was justified.
So yeah these are some pretty beefy cuts. At this point I can't see Swans releasing a studio track over 1 hour, but we could perhaps one day see a live performance over that mark, maybe even on the upcoming tour. At the very least these are interesting cuts due to their length, and if anyone has any info of that Cloud of Unknowing performance I'd love to hear it!
Edit: holy fuk 64 minute The Seer is real

SCRIPT HERE-approximately 1000 words
Here is my Easter script for this year! If I'm being honest, I struggled to think of what I wanted to write for Easter. For such a fun holiday, it's rather limited what you can realistically do with it in a story (especially if you don't want to go in a religious direction). That's why I decided to stick with something simple. The simple childhood joys of egg decorating!
This is also my shortest script by far. I try to get all my scripts to at least 1000 words, as that translates to about a 10 minute audio, but this script clocks in at around 990. I rounded up for the approximation above. I
really tried to get this to 1000 words, but honestly everything I added while trying to reach that mark just interrupted the flow of everything. So I decided to say heck it and make this script 10 words short. I hope you will forgive me for my horrible sin ; _ ; Thank you for reading and have a happy Easter!

2023.03.28 22:25 He11o_Je11o Percussion 1 Differing Dynamics
I have score with a Percussion 1 part that has both Bass Drum and Snare drum on the same part. I need at one point for the bass drum to be playing fortissimo and the snare drum to be piano. How can I input this to musescore so that it is reflected in the audio playback? What happens now is I select the snare part and place a piano marking and then select the bass drum part and place a fortissimo marking, but after I do this, the snare audio responds to the fortissimo and not to the piano. Thanks!
