I'm making a deck tech video about my [[Meren of Clan Nel Toth]] list and want the list to be as fine tuned as possible.
Here is my decklist and thorough primer including combo lines and card discussion.

Why Play Meren (Pro's and Con's)
Meren is a value commander who recently got some very nice toys printed for her arsenal. Her value comes in the form of free reanimation, which lets us abuse stax pieces like [[Plaguecrafter]] and [[Mindslicer]] to control the board. This is also a great form of resilience for all of our creatures.
The negative here is that Meren has no means of advantage herself, and relies on card synergies to truly be useful. While it's generally easy to abuse Meren, it's equally easy to be locked out by common stax pieces like [[Dauthi Voidwalker]], [[Aven Mindcenser]], and [[Opposition Agent]]. These things limit is and mean that pod composition is an important element of our success.
Golgari colours are generally weak, but Meren allows us to use unique stax elements to compensate for our lack of interaction, and abusable creature-based engines to bring our speed up.
New Toys
One of the new pieces we have access to is [[Braids, Arisen Nightmare]], which has shown itself to be a fantastic multi-tool for me. It regularly nets 1-3 cards per turn, it can sacrifice our unwanted stax pieces (such as [[Null Rod]] when we no longer need it), and it can potentially slow down board states. It's a "May" ability as well, meaning we aren't forced into saccing lands in bad situations.
As a stax piece this card isn't super efficient, as it gives the opponents the choice. Instead, we use this card as an engine, which is very good at netting 1-3 cards per turn. So far, in my experience, it has been a better [[Dark Confidant]], but it relies on the meta.
The real game changer we have in our arsenal is [[Saw in Half]]. This piece lets us reasonable and reliably pursue [[Razaketh, The Foulblooded]] lines instead of using them as a backup with [[Squirrel Nest]] [[Earthcraft]].
Golgari RazaHulk gets a huge boost
I feel like I don't see enough lists with this tech, I haven't seen a single Meren list running [[Saw in Half]], but here's why it's so damn cool
Saw in Half goes Infinite with [[Eternal Witness]] and [[Lion's Eye Diamond]] (or [[Culling the Weak]]). The former is a bit easier to pull off and the latter gets around our own artifact hate like [[Collector Ouphe]].
This is very relevant for Golgari RazaHulk in general, so here's the theory behind the lines (I won't be going into the requirements or executions of the combos, that'll be in the primer):
After cheating out Razaketh, we can relatively easily assemble this infinite combo. Once we have infinite tokens, we can infinitely tutor based on life. We tutor for [[Plunge into Darkness]] and that solves our life issue, now we can essentially tutor our whole deck. Then we grab [[Culling Ritual]] and get infinite mana (our tokens have 0 CMC!) then we win however we need too.
Up to and including [[Finale of Devastation]], we have a lot of ways to win. You might think "What if those cards are in the graveyard?", well, lucky for us the EWitness combo ends with 2 free EWitness triggers. Meaning, we more or less always have access to these cards, barring [[Dauthi Voidwalker]] or similar effects that might disrupt this. (Anecdotal evidence from me, but this has not been an issue for me yet.)
I want to emphasize though, that even if it wasn't available, RazaHulk has so much versatility that you typically have enough resources to get the win. The primer details various winning lines much more thoroughly.
To sum it up, instead of getting infinite tokens through the very bulky SquirrelCraft combo, we can now do so with a single synergistic piece that also happens to boost our synergy with 2 other cards (Culling Ritual and Plunge into Darkness) to add a high level of lethality to our win. By layering this combo with our [[Protean Hulk]] lines, we end up with a very resilient and versatile win condition.
More fun things
[[Necromancy]] and [[Wake The Dead]] offer us instant speed reanimation, with Razaketh or even Protean Hulk directly, we can shoot for a win overtop of someone else. This is cooler because we don't need [[Crop Rotation]] and [[Emergence Zone]] bogging us down.
Razaketh is cool because with extra resources we can tutor for protection, stax removal, and even our own stax control before or during our wins. I've included [[Elvish Spirit Guide]] as a way to protect ourselves with the Veils more easily. It's pretty fun pulling off a Mindslicer trigger before you win.
Running Razaketh and Protean Hulk together is worth it because it opens up a large amount of winning lines through as many circumstances as possible. Skilled pilots will be able to squeeze out wins in all sorts of boardstates.
Closing Notes
I think the new tech with Saw In Half is pretty strong and creature based combos are pretty hard to disrupt at times. Leading the combo with removal, protection, or sometimes even stax can be very effective in securing wins.
I'm not saying this is a meta warper or anything, and it might not be the best Golgari commander, but I think Meren's relevance does increase with these new cards; still fringe, but I think you'll have more fun and better results running this list than before. I certainly have.
I think the merit in this list relies on its unique stax-midrange play patterns in tandem with strong combo lines to generate wins. Let me know how you feel about it! I'll try to keep on top of discussion in the comments :)

This series so far has had an AMAZING group of actors portraying so many different apocalyptic life situations they find themselves in. Kathleen and her revenge with “kids die every day .” Or Bill and Frank either of them were just FANTASTIC but I see them as a bottle episode duo. Sam and Henry knocked it out of the park with the deaf sign language communication .
But I must say that Nolan Norths portrayal of “David” the struggling snow bound resort communities leader was the greatest performance outside of Ellie or Joel that I saw on the show . He was so charismatic and confident and kind in his original meeting with Ellie but all the signs were there . “You’re a good hunter, we didn’t even hear you coming.” Are his first words to her and that was his compliment but truly his interest PIQUED about this girl . She warns them if anyone else comes they will get one - “Right between the eyes.” He finishes , which looking back shows he was not afraid in any way .
And then the story beside the fire between him and Ellie flips on it’s head when he says “And that crazy man was traveling with a little girl, see I told you everything happens for a reason.” Ohhh man that is when we realize this guy is more than what he seemed . Cut to him slapping one of his own , a small girl for talking, to reinforce his fcked up power dynamic . And then to watch it get even WORSE .
His conversations with Ellie while she’s caged are very calm and collected even when she realized they were eating people he tries to reason with her saying what else were we supposed to do ?! But then his worship of the Cordyceps saying that “They love…” was BONE CHILLLLING. It turns out this guy is actually a cult leader ,cannibal ,sexual assaulter and predator …preacher who just wants a child bride and his admission of having an evil heart comes out and is seen when he is going after Ellie in the burning cabin.
This guy had a HARD role to pull off and he did it so well. Being the creepy guy probably isn’t exactly what he wanted but he killed it and I remember almost all his lines because they are so cunning or logical then they are sick and twisted and unspeakable . Bravo to him for this portrayal as he will forever live as one of the most dangerous villains I have ever known in fiction , Voldemort, Euron Greyjoy (Books only) even the joker . This guy was incredible!

I can’t for the life of remember where it’s from, but I believe it was an attributable quote which was basically to the effect of:

So me and my boyfriend used to live together and he recently (3/15) moved out and into his moms house to give us some space. I had already spent almost two weeks away from him when I went to go spend time with my family. When I finally got back last week (3/16) he was already moved out. We agreed space was what we needed but it seems like since he moved out and since we’ve been spending time apart he’s been less communicative with me or flaking on plans. This morning he text me that he was going to visit his sister and dad up north which was a 3 1/2 hour drive. Being hones, it set me off; because I’ve been trying to make plans for him to come over since Sunday (mind you I only live 2 miles from his mom) and he’s had excuse after excuse. So for him to just wake up and suddenly have the energy for a 3 1/2 hour drive but not a 7 minute drive to come hang out with me really hurt. Plus we’ve talked about going together to visit his sister for sooo long! So I was sad that I wasn’t going as well. These past two weeks have just been off though in general. He texts’ me less and less. Doesn’t really ask me how my day is or what I’m doing. Just doesn’t communicate with me like he used to. Giving me the bare minimum. And it’s frustrating because I am 100% vocal on how I’ve been feeling but all he has to say is, and I quote “ We are supposed to be giving each other space like we agreed. “ Space I understand, but the lack of communication is what I don’t understand. Like what is the correct or proper way to work on a relationship when you’re trying to give each other “Space” so to speak. Mind you, we don’t EVER go on dates because he has health issues (back problems) and he never knows what the day will be like. In the 15 months we’ve been dating I can count on one hand how many dates we’ve gone on. And not even “Date Night” dates. Like breakfast or lunch dates because we were hungry. Something just always came up or he wasn’t feeling good so we have never gone on a “ Real Date”. In the time we’ve been together he’s been focusing on work and basically put our relationship on the back burner. I bought The Adventures Challenge book couples editions LAST YEAR and barely opened it to finally do a challenge 3 weeks ago which was so fun! There’s been a lot that went on in the relationship to get us to this point and the place I’m in mentally is overwhelmed. Like 24/7 for the past year. I’m financially stressed, emotionally stressed from family drama, physically stressed due to bad periods, and mentally stressed with this relationship. Last week Thursday I finally started seeing a therapist and it went great. Totally loved it. My BF thinks I should be seeing and talking to someone more than once a week because he believes I’m the problem but I can’t afford that right now since it’s cash pay. And it makes me so upset because he’s the reason I’m financially stressed. My therapist told me that I’m in a constant state of Survival Mode/Stress Response (Sympathetic Nervous System) and she couldn’t be more true. I can’t remember the last time I was at peace. I’ve been in this state of mind for a year now. So I now understand why I react and respond the way that I do but for my BF to say that it’s all my fault and that I’m the problem is not true at all. He definitely played a part in it. I’m just at a loss. I communicate with him SOOO much on how I’m feeling and how his lack of communication is affecting me but he continues to say we just need space. So am I in the wrong for still wanting basic communication? Or am I the crazy one?

The United States has announced its latest round of sanctions against Iranian drone and missile production, this time focusing on firms and individuals who allegedly procured equipment for Tehran's drone programme.

I'm on a bender. I found out that I'm pregnant and I refuse to keep it. My boyfriend agrees. I'm ambivalent, but I'm still early enough that it will be a medical abortion. It doesn't mean I'm not sad, but I know it's the right decision.
Since I'm in a state where it's illegal to have one, we have to travel out of state. There's a clinic that is paying for the abortion costs, and we are also getting reimbursed for food and gas when we get there. I am blessed. This was a condom and birth control baby, and I have bawled my eyes out, but I'm not selfish enough to bring this baby into the world.
I have been drinking more behind my boyfriend's back, when I've been on "a taper". I refuse to be sober through any of this, and I really hope God forgives me for this. The situation isn't great right now, and I'm taking this as a sign that He does and that the baby eventually will.
Any good thoughts/prayers are much appreciated. You all have been my community for years now, even when we had disagreements. I feel like a terrible person and I'm scared I won't forgive myself though. I'm scared I'll dig deeper into the bender.

OKLAHOMA CITY - A divided Oklahoma Supreme Court on Tuesday overturned a portion of the state's near total ban on abortion, ruling women have a right to abortion when pregnancy risks their health, not just in a medical emergency.
The court ruled that a woman has the right under the state Constitution to receive an abortion to preserve her life if her doctor determines that continuing the pregnancy would endanger it due to a condition she has or is likely to develop during the pregnancy.
In the 5-4 ruling, the court said the state law uses both the words "Preserve" and "Save" the mother's life as an exception to the abortion ban.
"Absolute certainty," by the physician that the mother's life could be endangered, "Is not required mere possibility or speculation is insufficient" to determine that an abortion is needed to preserve the woman's life, according to the ruling.
The court declined to rule on whether the state Constitution grants the right to an abortion for other reasons.
The court ruled in the lawsuit filed by Planned Parenthood, Tulsa Women's Reproductive Clinic and others challenging the state laws passed after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion.

A friend created this custom script for me circa 2010 to solve a problem I had with email marketing. If I had List A that needed to be sent to, but I also had List B of people who should not receive the email, the script would create List C, which was made by taking List A and then subtracting the contents of List B. (List C = List A - List B).

It was designed to work specifically with email addresses, but I suppose it would work fine for single words on a line.It used to work fine, but I haven't used it in a while and there appears to have been enough changes in macOS that it needs a bit of love. Given daemons of the ruinstorm are coming back soon, I decided to check out the Sisters of Silence rules on battlescribe. It seems to me that taking a small detachment of Sisters can be incredibly strong as a punchy threat to knife into your opponent.
For 485 points you can take Jenetia Krole (who has Eternal Warrior, WS6, and can make an opponent in a duel WS1), 15 vigilators (who on the charge can output 31 S5 power sword attacks, while still being in power armor, all at WS4) and a kharon pattern acquisitor which is basically a flying land raider.
As a threat it is incredibly good at punishing any generic marine infantry, and since they are line you can use them to push opponents off objectives very easily. Would synergize nicely with any melee pressure list, especially ones that are more focused on elite killing and need something to clear out big tactical squad units (like Loyalist EC, Ultramarine Suzerain lists, or Raven Guard decapitation strike oriented lists).

If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?

The NHS is the NHS and is just another 3 year long waiting list and I seriously cannot deal with that rn with the state my mental health is in. I'm willing to go private. This doesn't have to be a gender-related therapist I just think I seriously need help. My mental health has been bad but never this bad.

Not sure if this is the right place to be asking this, but does anyone have any advice for getting 10,000 steps a day? I’m a dog groomer so I’m pretty active during the work day and I also go to the gym 5 days a week with two of those being stable state cardio mostly on the treadmill. I somehow am still only getting on average 2-3k steps a day, with the most I’ve gotten being 5k. Just not sure what else I can be doing!

I know that AJ and Dinucci are some real work horses when it comes to attempts, but in order to make DC's offense really hum you need a guy who can sling the ball and run when there's nothing there(rather than throwing it into triple coverage, Dinucci)
Ta'amu has a YPA only .1 yards less than AJ. Sure DC doesn't run a lot of pass plays because their rushing is so dominant, but that's literally the ideal football team, why would you throw the ball when you can run it and tire out the defense with very little risk?
Precisely the reason why DC is so scary and undefeated is because they CAN throw the ball whenever they feel like it. They also had that game in Vegas where throwing was impossible, game 1 (lowest passer rating)where the scheme and o line blocking was total ass(imo), and his interception appeared to be a crap route or miscommunication. As he's improved, so has this team.
Ta'amu has had a very respectable 95.43 passer rating the past three weeks, which is shockingly the best in the league over that time span (Perez would beat it but missed a week). Similarly, defenses are scared of the pass and leave the box open for QB runs, leading to 211 yds rushing for him as well. He is turnover adverse(1 int on 99 attempts and 0 fumbles) as well, which is huge since turnover margin has been a BIG factor in a lot of XFL games so far.
The guy is smart and careful and he STILL makes a ton of explosive plays. Excited to see where he goes from here.

Advice/Process of moving to Italy for about 3 years from Canada
Hi there, this may be long but here is what I need advice on as soon as possible so I can get this all started.
So I’ve been hoping to move out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Vicenza, Italy, hopefully by January or February of 2024, for about 34-35 months. Me (Canadian-24 yrs old) and my BF (American-25 yrs old) plan on staying together there, but I am assuming I of course will need a Visa of some sort, but dont know which one I should be applying for and when I should apply for it.
Some background info: We are both long distance at the moment, and he is in the US Army and is supposed to be stationed there November, 2023 for 36-months. I wanted to give him the months of november to january/february to find a home OFF the military post and settle in before I come, and so that I will have proof of a location to stay while I’m living in Italy.
The idea we have of moving our items seems logical, so I wont be having movers move all my stuff from Canada to Italy. We plan to have my items driven down to the States into a storage unit, so that he can tell the movers during his PCS, to get the boxes and furniture there and have it shipped to Italy, along his with his items. We chose to do this because it was a way cheaper alternative than having my things shipped off directly from my city.
My current job is a Medical Office Assistant, and am currently taking a nail technician course, so that in the future, I can possibly start my own nail business/work for myself. I gave this info because I was thinking it could help with determining what Visa I should be applying for ?
I wanted to know, should there be a medical travel consultation? Is staying there for 34-35 months possible? What information should I be gathering? How should the process work? Is there anything I should discuss regarding my banking? Current student loans that I am paying for? What considerations should I make regarding my drivers license.
Someone please help me out.

NYC. if I got knocked it would be my 4th time arrested but only the second one for tagging. basically i got arrested for "making graffiti" like a total idiot a couple years ago when I was like 19, long story short I was being a moron about it and spent 48h in central booking. obviously I tightened up my behavior since then and haven't really been putting up any tags except in like remote areas out of state kind of thing. if I got another arrest it would be my 4th arrest (3rd in nyc) so it's not like I would really be given a pass.
the whole court system is a pain in the ass to go through and I'm not gonna lie, I've had restraining orders from larceny and shit on my record before which made it difficult to find employment so idk if having a second arrest for graff is going to actually stay on my record- my 1st charges were dropped btw but I have a feeling that further ones won't be

I've looked on a few different websites and she's always listed for $40 or more. I've tried looking in local Targets and Walmarts but none of them have her stocked, so online is my only option.

I was dating a really wonderful guy who had a lot of BPD and autism traits that I think were playing off each other and ultimately ended the relationship. He talked about the BPD symptoms openly, and wanted help, but his inability to see the big picture really got in his way. That seemed to be in line with other autism traits I saw.
With the BPD symptoms and a lack of visibility to cause and effect, his tantrums were kind of a death spiral of lashing out over the consequences of his own actions. He truly couldn’t see the big picture of the overall destruction of the relationship or individual conflicts.
He’s in therapy every week but not yet ready to be honest with them about things like delusional/paranoid thoughts and he seemed to kind of just nurse the prosecutorial thoughts there so it only got worse. I can’t help but think that if he could see the big picture, he’d be able to see how this is negatively affecting him and start to really get help.
I didn’t want to involve myself in his mental health, but I always wished I could just get him to see the big picture. I could point right at it and describe it, but he still could not see it.
To use metaphor, I could point out the individual trees, and then show them all together as a forest, and he would still not understand what the forest had to do with the trees.
Have any of you been able to learn better big picture thinking after having issues with it? Is it something that can be learned?

Need to know what other scriptures are used to explain the saved now doctrine when the Bible states that those who endure to the end shall be saved in Matthew 24:13? Also in chapters 2 & 3 of Revelation about the one that overcomes?
I know Isaiah 45:22 says, “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, there is none else”. But what does he mean by “Look unto me”?
But I’m just curious because I keep hearing about it. Hope my questions make sense.
