Hi! I was able to demo MHW for two hours right now, and I played the intro all the way until some minor boss. It was really thrilling. I loved the graphics, the movement, the combat.
I am hyped and would love some help! :D
I've got 3 questions for PC players:

1. Grindiness?

I am mostly interested in doing the story, and progressing through the game to kill every monster, and doing random co-op hunts online, and then I think I will be done with it, and will just be going in periodically to hunt some monsters for fun. I hope the game doesn't turn into a life-consuming job during any of my planned path?
Does the game reach a tedious stage where it's full of micromanagement of inventory and crafting? Some of the screenshots I see online look scary with the amount of crafting items people have, but maybe that's mostly meant for end-game grinding geeks who go crazy about min-maxing everything and doing the endlessly repeatable missions and events?
I just wanna be able to relax and use movement and combat skill to defeat the monsters, earn some parts, use that for upgrades, and move on to the next beast etc. I don't wanna have to live and breathe the game 24/7 to achieve that.

2. What edition to buy?

I will be buying one of these two:

3. WTF DLCs!?

I'm super scared. There are 229 DLCs and they are all SUPER EXPENSIVE. Wtf is going on? Are ANY of the DLCs worth having? If so which ones?

its my understanding with the new SVex release, all rares are holorare. but the only card in a pre-release deck that's holo is your promo card. so cards like professors research are not holographic but if you were to pull them from a pack they should be every time.
so for all you weirdos out there wanting to complete a master set or collect all variations of "exclusive" type cards, get ready to buy up build and battles.

Title, more or less. I tend to enjoy crime and mystery and sci-fi, and I'm mostly looking for something where I can read a full novel in 2-4 hours without having to think too hard- and ideally where it's a consistent setting with reappearing characters where you can mostly pick up any novel whenever and still have a good understanding of what's going on.
For examples from what I've read, the Nightside series and Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch novels come to mind, though I wouldn't be opposed to something like Discworld.

If you don't know what I'm talking about based off of the title, it's basically when you meet someone and everything just seems to align. Your values, morals, interests, etc are shared and you both share the same excitement to consistently chat with one another throughout your days and night everyday! It also means that things don't feel forced and the conversations just flow naturally instead of the other person ruining things by constantly saying 'so what do you want to talk about?'. And why do you think some of us put so much time and energy into writing these things? I sure as heck don't do it for nothing. My availability is super open! I'm basically able to chat all throughout the day and I love sending and receiving long, thought out messages. Can't remember what it's called) would be nice to have for a change. I'm also a bit of a gamer but haven't been playing much lately. I have a modded ps vita, a PS4 I share with my bf, and a computer. I am not looking for gaming friends but if you'd be open to playing a lesser known battle royal with me let me know! I never get to play due to the fact I have no one to play with. Introduction

1. Will this be your first dog? If not, what experience do you have owning/training dogs?

I did some basic obedience with the family dog when my mom and little brother brought her home just shy of 10 years ago, but this will be my first dog that is exclusively mine. I've watched way too much Dogs 101 and Its Me Or The Dog but I know that's no substitute for real in person experience.

1. Do you have a preference for rescuing a dog vs. going through a reputable breeder?

I'd honestly probably prefer a rescue because I'm not sure a puppy is a good fit for me, but the breed specific rescues in my state(New Mexico) are few and far between, and most of the shelters just have bully mixes, shepherd mixes, or husky mixes. I'm not averse to getting a dog from a breeder though.

1. Describe your ideal dog.

I would like a dog that is willing to cuddle up in my lap sometimes, but won't feel the need to follow me from room to room. Something that doesn't need a ton of exercise but will go on walks around the block or to the local park(not a dog park). A dog who will snuggle up with me when I've had a bad day and need extra companionship. Potentially an ESA because I am autistic.
4) What breeds or types of dogs are you interested in and why?
I'm not set in any one breed. The ones that seem to fit my lifestyle don't fit the climate and vice versa.
5) What sorts of things would you like to train your dog to do?
At least basic obedience and good canine manners.
6) Do you want to compete with your dog in a sport (e.g. agility, obedience, rally) or use your dog for a form of work (e.g. hunting, herding, livestock guarding)? If so, how much experience do you have with this work/sport?
I think agility would be fun, but realistically I'm not going to compete with it. I do not have an escape proof spot I could set anything up in.
Care Commitments
7) How long do you want to devote to training, playing with, or otherwise interacting with your dog each day?
30-45 minutes a day of active playing, I can go hours of low intensity interaction with cuddles and such.
8) How long can you exercise your dog each day, on average? What sorts of exercise are you planning to give your dog regularly and does that include using a dog park?
30-45 minutes. A few laps around the block(I'm not in good physical shape so no more than that right now), some lower intensity things with puzzle toys.
9) How much regular brushing are you willing to do? Are you open to trimming hair, cleaning ears, or doing other grooming at home? If not, would you be willing to pay a professional to do it regularly?
I'd prefer a dog that only needs brushing once a week to every few days. I'm open to doing / learning how to do basic grooming myself, the nearest groomers is too far away to be realistic.

10) What size dog are you looking for?
Small to medium, ish.
11) How much shedding, barking, and slobber can you handle?
Shedding is not a problem for me, I grew up with cats and they got fur everywhere. Barking needs to be minimal because I share a wall with neighbors. Not a huge fan of slobber, would prefer minimal but I know it can't be completely avoided.
12) How important is being able to let your dog off-leash in an unfenced area?
It's not going to happen, too many other irresponsible owners who allow their dogs to roam.

13) Do you want a snuggly dog or one that prefers some personal space?
Somewhere in the middle? I'd like a dog who is willing to cuddle in my lap but I don't want a Velcro dog.
14) Would you prefer a dog that wants to do its own thing or one that’s more eager-to-please?
More eager to please will probably be easier for me to handle.
15) How would you prefer your dog to respond to someone knocking on the door or entering your yard? How would you prefer your dog to greet strangers or visitors?
I don't get a lot of visitors, but I would prefer a dog who doesn't react. I don't want a watchdog.

Resource guarding, poop eating.
Lifestyle
18) How often and how long will the dog be left alone?
Anywhere from 3-8 hours depending on my schedule.

I live alone.

I might get a fishtank at some point but I'm currently only allowed to have one dog / cat at a time

Probably not, but the kids in my town don't have good manners around dogs so there is a chance that they'll do the "squeal a puppy" run to pet routine while on walks. Will be avoiding the area around the schools for this reason.
22) Do you rent or plan to rent in the future? If applicable, what breed or weight restrictions are on your current lease?
Currently renting, 35 pound size limit.
23) What city or country do you live in and are you aware of any laws banning certain breeds?
New Mexico, USA. I don't think there are any local laws regarding specific dog breeds. We have local leash laws but nobody pays attention and nobody enforces them.
24) What is the average temperature of a typical summer and winter day where you live?
Summer average is 85 but we've had days in the high 90s and even hit 100. Winter averages mid to low 40s but we definitely get sub freezing temps.

Longtime Android user, as is everyone in my household. Everyone has their own Google profile set up and populated with info, complete with profile picture. They also have separate Google identities for work or school, and I've merged that separate information in my Google Contacts so it is all under each respective family member, and set their personal Google account info as their "default" phone and email.
At some point in the last few months, their default profile pictures - the ones they use for personal accounts and that appear on my devices when I get emails/texts/calls from them - got swapped out and Google defaults to using their school or work profile pictures. I find this annoying and I've seen no way to change it other than to: 1) treat each family member's work or school identity as a separate Google Contact, or 2) upload their chosen profile pictures in my own Google Contacts entry for each of them.
What I'd like to achieve is simply defaulting to the profile pictures that they've chosen for their accounts being what appears on my phone, and not their merged account profile pics. Is anyone aware of any way to fix this?

First Republic Bank (FRC), the U.S. regional bank struggling to remain viable following a flight of deposits, is looking at ways it can downsize if its attempts to raise new capital fail, according to three people familiar with the matter.
First Republic has been working with JPMorgan to find new sources of capital after a consortium of major banks provided it with a total of $30 billion in deposits last week in a move of solidarity. Unrealized mark-to-market losses in First Republic's loan book and investment portfolio have been an obstacle to clinching an investment, Reuters has reported.
First Republic is examining how it can sell parts of its business, including some of its loan book, in a bid to raise cash and cut costs, one of the sources said. A sale of loans to other parties, including private equity firms, is one option under consideration, two of the sources said.
While a sale of the entire bank remains possible, First Republic is still currently focused on a capital raise, the third source said.
FRC Stock Report- Sources cautioned the situation remained fluid and asked not to be identified because the deliberations are confidential. The bank is still worth less than a fifth of where its shares were trading before the banking crisis started in the United States on March 8.
Anyone hoping to sweep this stock up at a sweet discount should proceed with heavy caution as the situation is not resolved.

Pride is a thing I’ll never understand. I do understand we’re all about trying to break generational curses now and I also understand that blood doesn’t mean everything, it is ok to cut family off that has wronged you.
2 years ago after our wedding, my FIL bothered us for a week straight about making sure we sent out thank you cards to our guests. He was almost harassing us while we were on our honeymoon, which he knew, so it made no sense to us why he thought we were in the right time or place to be able to send those cards out… it resulted in my husband speaking out and telling him that we’d get to it when we’d get to it and that we didn’t appreciate him bothering us about it on our honeymoon. In response, his dad called us irresponsible and said it looked awful of us to not be prioritizing this. A lot of his dad’s friends and neighbors traveled across the country to attend our wedding so we think he was concerned with the perception or opinions of him by his friends possibly being concerned by us not sending those cards immediately. Which is ridiculous, we highly doubt anyone cared about getting those cards within 2 weeks of the wedding.
Anyway, my husband responded that the whole thing was dumb and that we’d be returning his dad’s wedding gift to him, in which his dad responded don’t bother and to give it to Goodwill instead.
Like I said, petty argument… in the end my husband shouldn’t have responded the way he did but I understand why he snapped on his dad.
Cut to 2 years later, we have had no contact with his dad and we now have a beautiful baby girl who is 5 months old and hasn’t met her grandpa. It weighed heavy on me before that his dad was no longer in our life, but even more so now that I have a baby who’s not going to meet her grandpa.
Today, out of nowhere, my husband’s dad called him and he missed it due to being in a meeting. He called his dad back within a minute and he didn’t answer. I assumed an emergency might’ve happened, so I texted his dad that we tried calling him back to make sure everything was ok. He responded that he didn’t mean to call.
Now that he has responded and I feel like he has opened up communication, I really want to say my peace about our side of things and that I feel like he’s making a huge mistake by not being part of not only his grandchildren’s life let alone his OWN child’s life. He’s older, he doesn’t have any family near him on the other side of the country from us. This is his first and likely his only grand child. I do agree that he was the one in the wrong. My husband does not want to reach out but he is ok with me reaching out. My husband is just as proud as he is but has admitted that if his dad came to him, he would accept an apology and move forward. My father in law has a long history of doing this to all of his children. He has strained relationships with everyone because of his pride. He went 20+ years without talking to his own brother over an argument. When I say this man is likely to take this to the grave, I’m not kidding. How do you ask someone to set their pride aside?
TLDR: my husband and his father got into a petty argument. Neither will apologize. I want to ask his dad to apologize so we can put this all past us and he can be part of our and his first grandchild’s lives. I don’t know how to word my message to him.

I hope you're all doing well. I'm excited to announce that I'm new to the Stable Diffusion community, although I have had prior experience with other AI Imagery tools, such as Midjourney. I believe I possess a decent system capable of running Stable Diffusion, but I'm not sure if I have optimized everything correctly.
My current rig consists of the following components:

• CPU: Ryzen 9 3900XT
• GPU: AMD 7900XTX
• RAM: 32GB DDR4

To get started, I've incorporated the following code into my batch file:
set COMMANDLINE_ARGS= --skip-torch-cuda-test --precision full --no-half
This has allowed me to generate images, but the process seems quite slow, and I suspect that my graphics card may not be fully utilized.
I would be extremely grateful if anyone who has achieved good results using an AMD graphics card with Stable Diffusion v1-5 could share their insights or optimization tips. Your guidance would be much appreciated as I continue to explore and learn more about this fantastic tool!

There is a trainer in a gym nearby that is holding a gym and has fed their pokemon 121 times. The Pokemons health is always full. Is this normal or could he be hacking?

I have been interested in developing natural products for treating human and animal health, recently taking a keen look at Amanita muscaria and quickly realized that there is not much "scientific" information available on what dose to take to produce specific effects. For example, how much of a mushroom or tea should you consume to help with pain, sleep, or to generate a nice weekend buzz? It would be fantastic, IMHO, if there was a defined amount of ibotenic acid or muscimol that one could consume to get the right effect.
To begin our scientific voyage, we have started looking at available products available for purchase on line. The hope was that we could analyze how much ibotenic acid, muscarine, and muscimol were present in the product to understand effectiveness of this product. We just recently tested two different batches of "Don't Trip" gummies by Dozo. The test results for both batches indicate no amanita alkaloids are present in the gummies with one set of results shown below. The product label reports 500 mg Amanita muscaria in each gummy, so even with a very poor mushroom input there should be detectable Ibotenic acid and muscimol. As there is NO detectable, down to 1 microgram per gram of gummy, of any active ingredients, these gummies are simply mislabeled. The analytical lab who performed the test has stated they are seeing very similar results for many online gummy products. Any effects consumers feel from these must be due to psylocibin or THC spiking of the product (these are the next tests we will run on the gummies).

This type of dishonesty and mislabeling hurts both the public and the mushroom community. If the community/board is interested in this type of information we will continue updates on our work in responsible product development. In the meantime, please be very wary of Amanita online products and make sure products are supported with analytical testing reports showing the level of Amanita in the product.

Hey there, fellow /homeassistant friends! I've been running Home Assistant on an Amazon Fire Tablet as a dashboard for about 16 months without any issues, and it's been a fantastic experience. However, I recently got a new router and now I'm facing some issues with the tablet.
Previously, the tablet would wake up and display the Home Assistant dashboard whenever motion was detected. But now, it only displays the default screensaver (with ads) and no longer wakes up automatically without my input.
I originally followed this guide to set up my Fire Tablet: https://leonardosmarthomemakers.com/how-to-install-fully-kiosk-browser-on-fire-tablet-for-home-assistant/. I've double-checked the setup, and everything still seems to be configured correctly.
Here's what I've tried so far:

• Restarting the Fire Tablet.
• Ensuring that the tablet is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
• Checking the Fully Kiosk settings to make sure they're still configured as per the guide.
• Verifying that my Home Assistant instance is accessible via the local network.

Despite this, the problem persists. I'm hoping someone here might have encountered a similar issue or has any ideas on what else I can try to get the tablet working as it did before.

I love the chickens because they’re the only NPC in the game other than other gladiators and I want to be able to have one in my home as a pet. It would be cool to just have a companion in general, but I feel like the chicken would be a good choice since it’s both already an existing thing in the game and at the same time it fits with the setting. It gets kinda lonely because every NPC in the game is trying to kill you so it would be cool to come back home to a pet waiting for you after a long day of battling.

Just a heads up to the community. Some people are charging people for character portraits and then just using an AI image generator and trying to pass it off as their art. I've seen it starting at $30 USD and going up from there. Some are even setting up patreons to do it. Hopefully no one gets taken in by these scammers. You can do the same thing for free for yourself.

• Use sketchy lines to show the desired layout in the page. Portraits are too generic. Ask specific things in specific places. Look how bad AI is to draw on top of lines here, The more imperfect the lines the better.
• Ask them to take a photo of the progress of the drawing. Example stage 1, final
• Humans use to have inconsisten imperfections with lines. AI has uncanny imperfections, inconsistent. Sometimes it delivers a professional work and sometimes it delivers uncanny errors worst than an amateur. AI has special problems to make hands, and it adds extra deformed limbs.

I wonder how Shu and Ba would be talked about later in the manga. Not mentioning that they take up half of Qin's current territory would be criminal. I'd love to see how Qin's demographics, politics and number of talents were affected since the occupation of these states. It's even more hype when you remember that one of the last 6 greats who'd yet to get a full appearance, Shibasaku finally gets his chance and how we was at forefront during Qin's advances into Shu and Ba.

I am fuming after meeting with my dentist today. This is a long one so feel free to skip if you’re not up for reading a story time rant… Or let me know if anyone had a similar experience?
I had great teeth as a kid except for having a gap in my front top teeth. As a teenager I got traditional braces and received a retainer to wear. I wore the retainer for years until near the end of college (I know, not great). A couple years later I tried wearing the retainer again but it did not fit so I let it be. My teeth aesthetically did not look different to me. I still did not have a gap tooth and years passed without the gap coming back, so I was content.
About 10 years later I see the gap beginning to come back. My tongue can get caught in it. My dentist said I would be a good candidate for Invisalign and I could be done in 6 months and that I would be his easiest case all year. I go for it. Eight months later I have a beautiful smile again and no more gap tooth. My dentist removes the buttons on my teeth and gives me Vivera retainers at my last visit. He says I have the best bite and end result he has had in a long time. Great! Vivera retainers fit me and I am surprised they are not tight like my trays were, but they’re not loose, so I was not concerned.
Well, within four days of wearing Vivera as instructed (22 hours a day) I notice my gap is coming back. My tongue got caught a bit in the gap and I could slide floss through it without any friction, whereas at the end of treatment the teeth touched and I had to apply a small amount of force to get the floss through.
I try on my last Invisalign tray and I am horrified to find out that the trays are quite tight on both my top and bottom front teeth. I now know that my Vivera retainer was not holding my teeth together properly.
Friday morning I call the dentist. They scheduled me for a Tuesday visit and say I can wear my last Invisalign tray until then, so I do so. After a day of wearing the old trays my gap has gone away and continues to stay away.
Tuesday comes around and I first meet the assistant. I tell her the situation and she is understanding, she wondered aloud if maybe something was a bit off with the last scan they did, or if Invisalign manufacturing had a hiccup. She re-scanned my teeth with extra care and then went to find the dentist.
It took a long time for the dentist to come find me. Right off the bat his tone was negative and he was very defensive. He said that “Invisalign never makes mistakes like this. Out of 8,000 patients I’ve only ever had 2 complain about retainers.” I explain that there must have been a manufacturing error or an issue with the scan because my gap is coming back. I clarify that I am not upset about that, I just want the retainers fixed to hold my teeth properly.
My dentist goes on to say that my teeth want to migrate and that the Vivera cannot perform like my last tray did. My last tray was an “over correction tray.” (Which makes no sense? Why do an over correction tray at all, then?) He said my body naturally wants a gap tooth so it is going to want to move. I tell him I had traditional braces as a child and a normal retainer held everything together for years, and even after not wearing that retainer for years the gap took almost a decade to start coming back. He doesn’t know how to respond to that.
Isn’t the point of the retainer to hold my teeth in place, I ask? He goes on to say he can “ASK if Invisalign will be WILLING to re-do the retainer” but that if I “want to do refinements later to fix it, I will charge you for that.” I explain again I don’t have a need for refinements…. My teeth were perfect, I just need to keep them that way.
He tries to push me toward getting a bar behind my teeth there and then, rather than corrected retainers. He says only a bar will keep them from moving. I tell him no because it’s clear there is simply an issue with the retainer, and that I was surprised he suggested that because in the past he talked a lot about “hating” those bars and not recommending them to me. We agree that I will only get a bar if the next set of retainers still does not work because I am not looking to do a second round of refinements.
He tells me to come back in a week to do another scan before he re-orders the retainers while continuing to wear my final tray.
I am really shocked how this was handled. I only needed an apparent error to be corrected. I was never angry or accusatory or emotional … I stated multiple times that I know these things happen, I just want to make sure I can maintain my nice smile! But I was meant with such an attitude from the dentist.
It’s also worth noting that my hygienist never came back. He was probably upset with her for re-scanning me.
I tend to think that because he does so much work with Invisalign he thinks it “makes him look bad” to send a retainer back for corrections? It is just so silly to me. Anyone who deals in absolutes (“Invisalign NEVER makes mistakes”) is a walking red flag.
Anyway, I just needed a place to rant so thanks for reading… just hoping this past year or so and the money spent has not been a waste. :(

A recent post made me think of what a f*cking asshole alcohol is. I'll call him "Al".
Al offers you a ride to the airport but makes you miss your flight.
Al steals your wallet and helps you look for it.

Al barfs in your car on a hot day and roll up the windows.
Al feeds your dog chocolate and raisins.
Al draws dicks on your face with a permanent marker the night before a job interview.
Al puts your hand in warm water when you're asleep so you pee the bed.
Al borrows your car and returns it empty. Every time.
Al invites his friends over to destroy your house when you're on vacation.
Al says he'll be a great reference but then tells the person you're a thief.
Al lets you borrow his car but doesn't tell you the brakes are shot.
Al puts sugar in your gas tank then suggests a "great" mechanic.
Al rubs his ass with your toothbrush.
Al goes with you to visit your grandma then steals her medication from the bathroom cabinet.
Al helps you do laundry but puts a red shirt in with the whites.
JFC, I will never be his friend again. I gave that dickhead enough chances.

I’m on a vacation currently with 3 other people but 4 more are arriving tomorrow. It’ll be 7 days in total. We’re staying all together in a beach house and I’m struggling a lot more than I expected. I really thought I was ready for this and going to be ok but it’s so hard. Im not really able to keep my exercise/food/daily routine while I’m here, I don’t have the support of meal coaches, I’m literally with other people at all times including sleeping. Body image is horrid. I feel like I need to see my weight which I’ve been avoiding for so long and I don’t even have access to a scale here so I can’t. I love doing social things but I’m already looking forward to going home. Perhaps most upsetting and surprising is that I have NO hunger and fullness cues here. My eating at home is pretty consistant day to day but now there’s no routine and I’m just like ahhhhh I don’t know if I should eat now or not or ate too much. It’s gonna be ok. It’s my first time traveling with friends since going to treatment months ago so I guess it’s all new but I’m ok.
