2023.03.29 11:48 tidabuda I fear that I manifested a 3P for my SP. Instead of going forwards, I feel like I’m going backwards

I met my SP in high school, got distanced and then we reconnected again after 7 years. We sort of “dated” but then things took a turn for the worse (I believe we both weren’t ready and that it was - right person, wrong timing because of our individual circumstances) and about 6 weeks ago he initiated no contact which I broke a couple of times because I was desperate, but 4.5 weeks ago he officially initiated no contact and since then we haven’t been in touch. It’s quite a complicated story and I didn’t get into too much detail.
I have been struggling with that, not gonna lie. Since then, I’ve discovered manifesting; YT channels, this subreddit. In the beginning I did manifest out of a pure state of lack and despair which I’ve got to learn will not bring me back what I want. I discovered this and other subreddits which have helped me grasp the idea of manifestation and which techniques can help me.
My self-concept definitely got better, it’s still not 100%, but I’m getting there slowly. I have been able to identify some negative things about myself and I’m working on changing that. Also, my anxiety and stress decreased, both is still there, but far less.
The things I am still doing wrong are checking his social media (instagram) and seeing if he posted something new/got new followers (we don’t follow each other anymore and his account is private). It was all well until this morning when I saw that he posted 4 new posts and has new followers and that he follows more people. My brain automatically goes to - SP met a new girl. My first reaction were tears and panic and a lot of “what if’s”. I’m terrified that I manifested a 3P for my SP. I sincerely don’t want that.
This has shown me that I’m still probably more in a state of lack than fulfilled.
I have to say that I’m a skeptic and have a hard time believing you can manifest anything. So yesterday, out of curiosity, while I was driving I told myself “Can I manifest seeing a green car?” And a couple of minutes later, I saw 2 or 3 green cars! Then I was like “OK, maybe this was luck, but can I manifest seeing a pink car? Actually no, there isn’t such a thing like a pink car (there is but seeing one seems highly unlikely) maybe purple or any shade of it.” Not long after, I saw a pink car on the parking lot! I then believed that was the universe telling me to not doubt anything.
This did get my belief up a notch, but I’m still terrified that I won’t be able to get my SP back.
I just want you to know that I don’t think an SP makes me more valuable, happier, loved or more fulfilled. I believe I am valuable, happy, loved and fulfilled just the way I am. Why I want this SP is because I felt a connection like never before and he brings out the best in me, that I want to try even harder to be a better person and that I’d like to go through life with SP by my side.
Any advice or help would be appreciated. Sorry for the long read.

1. Pashupatinath Temple
One of the holiest Hindu temples in the world, Pashupatinath is a thousand-year-old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It has a double roof and four silver doors. Devotees from all over the world come here to pay homage to Lord Shiva. The temple consists of a large temple and grounds, surrounded by various smaller temples, ashrams, and sculptures, and is situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River on the eastern side. Watching various ceremonies, and funerals is also a new experience for tourists. Evidence of the importance of this temple is the number of pilgrims it attracts, especially during a holy occasions like Teej and Shivaratri when visitors reach hundreds of thousands on that day. 2. Boudhanath Stupa
If Pashupatinath is the holiest Hindu temple in Kathmandu, then Boudhanath Stupa is the counterpart for Buddhist. There are many Newar and Tibetan Buddhist legends surrounding this amazing place, while some records show that it was built by the Licchavi King Man Dev in the 5th century A.D. Today, it is one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world and the entire surrounding area is home to Buddhists with more than 40 monasteries nearby. A large number of tourists, pilgrims, and locals visit the Stupa every day, each for their own different reason. Chanting monks, spinning prayer wheels, pigeons, and incense burners are just a few of the things that add to the special atmosphere here. It is one of the main sites for pilgrims and tourists in the country.
3. Swayambhunath Stupa
Swayambhunath Stupa is one of the oldest stupas in Nepal. It is located three kilometers west of Kathmandu. Swayambhunath, which literally means self-suspension, is said to have originated after the lake drained and created the present valley. It is said that there are 365 steps in the staircase leading to Swayambhunath. This is a holy place for Buddhists. After the Mughal invasion, it was damaged and rebuilt in the 14th century. King Pratap Malla in the 17th century improved the architecture and added steps to reach the stupa. Meanwhile, the stupa is a solid structure of brick and clay, supporting a tall conical spire with gilded copper and the eyes of Lord Buddha adorning the four corners of the spire's head. Swayambhunath also offers a magnificent view of the entire Kathmandu Valley.
4. Kathmandu Durbar Square
Kathmandu Durbar Square palace was built in the 15th century, with buildings and other monuments added over time. Hindu legend boasts that if one deciphers the 17th-century inscriptions written in 15 different languages on the walls of Hanuman Dhoka Palace, milk will immediately flow from the walls. The royal family lived in Hanuman Dhoka Palace until 1886 and then moved to Narayanhiti Palace. The new king was crowned in the palace. The palace commemorates the history of the royal family, culture, and religion of Nepal. The museum inside the palace provides an opportunity to explore the culture, religion, tradition, culture, architecture, history of the palace, etc. An entrance fee is charged to enter the museum. The museum is open 7 days a week except for Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in winter and from 10:30 to 4 pm in summer. On Friday, you will visit the museum from 10:30 am to 2 pm.
5. Patan Durbar Square
Like the Kathmandu Durbar Square, the Patan Durbar Square is located in Patan/Lalitpur. People believe that the name of the city is King Yalamber, as Patan translates it to Yala. It is located about 8km southeast of central Kathmandu. Here you can see beautiful Newari art and culture. As well as here are a number of Hindu and Buddhist monuments. Historical records have shown that Emperor Ashoka built part of this square in the third century BCE. Famous places in Patan Durbar Square include Mahaboudha Temple, Kumbeshwor Temple, Krishna Temple, Golden Temple, Jagat Narayan Temple, Hari Shanker Temple, Vishwanath Temple, Bhimsen Temple and Rato Temple Machhendra, among others.
6. Bhaktapur Durbar Square
Bhaktapur is located on the eastern side of the Kathmandu Valley. Also known as Bhadgaon or Khwopa, Bhaktapur is home to ancient Nepalese culture, tradition, and beautiful arts and crafts. Each historical monument represents the ancient tradition, religion, and culture of Nepal. Bhaktapur was mainly ruled by the Newari people. Bhaktapur is the only place untouched by western culture in Nepal. Lion Gate, Golden Gate, Art Gallery, King Bhupatindra Statue, Nyatapola Temple, and Fifty-Five Windows Malla Palace are the living pride of Bhaktapur. The place is home to the best hotels and restaurants to meet the needs and demands of travelers.
7. Changu Narayan Temple
Changu Narayan is a Hindu temple of Lord Vishnu. It is 15 kilometers away from Kathmandu valley. The stone inscriptions of 464 A.D. and other architectural structures displayed in the temple reflect the ancient history of Nepal. The temple offers a spectacular view of the Manohara River.
8. Lumbini
Lumbini is located about 300 kilometers southwest of Kathmandu in the Terai region, Lumbini is a religious pilgrimage site steeped in history. It is the last of the 4 sites in Nepal to be designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (1997). Lumbini is also known as the birthplace of Gautama Buddha. Also known as Siddhartha Gautama or Shakyamuni. Buddha was a 3-4th century who spent decades in self-imposed exile and eventually attained enlightenment to become a Buddha. His teachings became known as Buddhism and spread throughout the world over the years. As such, Lumbini is a very important religious place for Buddhists. Major monuments and landmarks to explore here include Maya Devi Temple, Sacred Garden, World Peace Pagoda, Chinese Temple, Thai Monastery, Burmese (Myanmar) Temple, Nepalese Buddhist Temple, Buddhist Monastery Buddhist Dharmaswami at Tilaurkot Palace.
9. Chitwan National Park
Chitwan National Park is also known as Royal Chitwan National Park. This national park is established in 1973 first national park in Nepal. The park covers an area of 952 m². km and has many exciting activities to choose from including rafting, boating, elephant bathing, and of course, Jungle Safari. Jungle Safari in Chitwan is a popular tour package in this park. It is a sanctuary for more than 700 species of animals, from mammals and reptiles to rare species of birds. The Royal Bengal Tiger and the Asiatic Horned Rhinoceros are the two iconic animals of Chitwan National Park. In addition to these, black leopards, Sloth Bears, Striped Hyenas, Golden Jackals, Gaurs, Antelopes, Bengal Floricans, Oriental Darters, Kingfishers, Spotted Eagles, King Cobra, the rock python, gharials, crocodiles make up the most famous species. 10. Sagarmatha National Park

After decades of advocacy from environmental groups, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service this week named the lesser prairie chicken as an endangered species. The bird, which lives in grasslands across five states, including the Texas panhandle, once numbered in the millions. Recent estimates suggest there are about 32,000 remaining.

The bird was previously categorized as endangered in 2014, but a judge repealed that as part of a lawsuit from the Permian Basin Petroleum Association that asked for more time to prove that existing conservation efforts would work. Nearly a decade later, the service is trying once again. Industry groups and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton oppose the move and have sued, claiming the plan in place is working.
An endangered species designation triggers stringent conservation rules to protect the animal and its habitat. Existing oil and gas projects, as well as certain renewable energy projects, could be grandfathered in, but new projects could be blocked entirely or require expensive additional permits.
“This will add significant time and uncertainty to those permitting requirements," said Ben Shepperd, president of the Permian Basin Petroleum Association.
“We’re talking about the most prolific oil field not only in Texas but in North America," he said. "And we think significant portions of oil and gas could be shuddered or negatively impacted, dramatically impacted, in such a way that it would disrupt the state of Texas’ economy, and frankly our national security and our energy security."
The listing also affects ranchers, as livestock grazing in certain areas could be harmful to the prairie chickens. Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller lambasted the decision as a power grab and overreach from the Biden Administration, and he suggested it could contribute to rising food costs.
The decision to name the bird as endangered was announced last fall.
Industry groups, including Shepperd's and several cattle groups, are suing once again to stop the listing. And Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing separately on behalf of the agriculture and energy arms of the state government.
Are the birds rebounding?
The current argument boils down to whether or not the existing conservation plan is working to save the birds.
Known as the “rangewide plan,” it’s administered by the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, which is comprised of the Texas Department of Fish and Wildlife and its counterparts from other states in the region. The effort began about a decade ago.
Critics of the new designation say populations of the bird are either stable or growing, and its habitat is protected. The plan requires oil and gas companies seeking to develop land in the chicken’s habitat to invest in conservation efforts elsewhere to cancel out the damage from their projects.
David Yoskowitz, director of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, also disagreed with the decision, writing, "We believe that the listing decision jeopardizes years of voluntary conservation efforts by landowners and industry."
But the national Fish and Wildlife Service said that active oil and gas wells in the chickens' habitat have increased by more than 80 percent over the last 10 years, a significant threat.
"Voluntary conservation efforts have helped conserve key habitat for the lesser prairie-chicken," the agency wrote in its announcement of its listing decision, "but have not demonstrated an ability to offset the threats and reverse the trends of habitat loss and fragmentation facing the lesser prairie-chicken."
An internal audit, which was shared as part of a federal public comment period, said the plan is on track to run out of money in the coming years, in part because funds were diverted from their intended purpose.
For instance, it said, the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies borrowed money from the supposedly permanent conservation fund, spending some on paying staff and more on a new, $650,000 headquarters building in Boise, Idaho, which is nowhere near the habitat for lesser prairie chickens.
Michael Robinson, a senior conservation advocate with the Center for Biological Diversity, described the rangewide plan as a “scam.”
“We’ve had a chance to actually look at how that plan that was supposed to obviate the need for a listing has played out,” he said. “It’s shocking, and the lesser prairie chicken has lost a great deal of habitat that was not replaced.”
Robinson's group, which has since the 1990s petitioned the federal government to name the bird as endangered, says the chicken's habitat has declined over the past decade and that oil and gas companies are generating “phantom” restoration credits without actually preserving any habitat.
For example, the group argued that the rangewide plan claimed to have restored 8,000 acres of chicken habitat by thinning out shinnery oak. But according to academic studies, those trees are “critical to conservation of some populations of prairie chickens.”
“The lesser prairie chicken has been on a downward trajectory for a long time, and with that and many other species, it takes years and even decades to recover them," Robinson said.

I order food most of the time every weekend or late nights when I’m not working because I always get promos. So might as well use them. I live in a corner house and it’s very easy to get into the back part. My instructions say “Corner house with white gate, please leave at back door without knocking please.” No one parks nearby so plenty of room to park right next to the gate.
I literally read every single instruction on every delivery i do. If I don’t understand it or feel unsafe I let them know so they don’t get mad for me ignoring it. But 95% of the time they always leave it in the front of the house and usually always ring or knock.
I don’t get it. You have to see the address on the same screen where you see their address or their drop off method and I tip well because I know how it is. So what’s the deal? Why do mostly all my delivery drivers ignore the instructions and knock when it’s stated. I’ve even messaged because I know it reads it out to you as a driver in case you are driving.
So I’m just dumbfounded why everyone doesn’t follow instructions. It’s the most important part of getting tips or even higher and keeping good ratings. Are they really that careless?
Also if you place people’s orders in front of their screen doors, then you deserve to get a bad rating. People can’t open the door and if it’s a drink in the order forget about it. Pro tip to me fellow drivers. Please be mindful and respectful. Put yourself in the customers shoes.

In February, Rockstar confirmed that development of Grand Theft Auto VI is well underway. In July, the TakeTwo subsidiary publicized that it would no longer work on Red Dead Redemption 2 or its online offering to focus on the development of the next title in the mega-popular GTA series. Despite this, talking about the next installment in the 25-year-old franchise is discouraged, at least on the official Twitch channel of Rockstar Games. This follows behavior the company started exhibiting on YouTube as well.

It's late. And it's that time again for me. And I have been pondering something for a while. A motorcycle to me represents not just a mode of transportation.
In my 5 years of being Free of Caffeine, 3 of those have been spent riding a motorcycle. At the time, I was actually looking at "Groms" because I wanted to take a ride around my block along the dirt embankments during the Covid Lockdown. I settled for a $1200, 40 year old, 250c instead.
If you would have told me, approximately 2 years later, I would be riding this small bike 40 miles into the local mountains, at an elevation of 5,000 feet, I wouldn't have believed. Albeit, at the time, it took baby steps. And a lot of balls.
In some respects, I had to "build up" to a feat like that. Some men, who have been riding for years, find these journeys just another walk in the park. For me, venturing up a mountain on a 250cc bike that weighs 270 pounds is basically a test of stillness. The ability to be mentally still. To be one with the mind, breath, and surroundings. A similar trip, 30 miles into barren wilderness with just 2 bottled waters soon followed.
With Coffee, came darkness.
I've lost something since I decided to partake. I did an experiment to see if it would help with dexterity, focus, weightloss, etc. The veil of spirituality soon became clouded. I no longer could see. In the midst of my experimentation, we went to the mountains for a family get-togther and a wedding. I brought my 40 year old beatup, 250cc. When I arrived, I found myself on some twisty trail-like roads being chased by 1,000 liter sports bike. I pulled over. The next day, hail, ice, and fog hit my visor, and for the first time in 3 years of riding I had a panic attack and pulled over to the side of the road. That was in January.
A week ago, I got the flu and was bed ridden for 5 days. I decided this would be the best time to quit Caffeine. My spirit was longing for that sense of power and peace it had once lost. These past 3 months have been bathed in a darkness I do not understand. A darkness that, under scientific standards, have been dubbed "Beneficial to health, prevention of Alzheimers, antioxidants, dexterity, focus etc." - I've read the wikipedia entries. I've seen the scientific testimonials of Caffeine's benefits.
But deep in the recesses of my mind, the fogged lens on my helmet, the sleet hitting me in the face, and the cold, mountainous road that induced a panic attack remained. Was it the sleep-aid and both caffeine that did it? The darkness bathed me. Stubbornly, angrily, I gripped the handlebars shaking, in the rain, and forced myself to ride 10 miles to the nearest gas station, visor barely visible. A 10 minute ride of absolute fear of death. Pulling over to the side of the road as I was battered with fog, sleet and rain.
As I went through having the flu, and continued the detoxifying of removing Caffeine from my mind, laying in bed with headaches, and aches, occasionally I would go for a drive, and walk around for a bit. Something strange dawned on my decaffeinated brain, which had been free of it's grasp for a few days. The trees swayed in slow motion as the sun set behind me. I stopped at a local church in my small town, and marveled at it's beauty and simplicity. "Caffeine is a psychoactive" they would say. I recall, passing through it's field of energy upon partaking it. Everything became elated. It is rumored ancient monks in the Arab world discovered Coffee and used it for spiritual purposes, to pray and meditate more stringently. I reflected on this as my reality was surreal, in the haze of fighting the virus, headache, yet bathed in a calm nostalgic serenity of my spirit once again at rest.
No hot liquid, to disturb my senses in a fervor to twitch, or move "for the sake" of moving. Or clean my room, and detail my toilets, and obsess over the minuscule smudged on my bathroom mirrors. Just the simplicity of the breeze, and my slowly decaffeinated mind passing through this vortex, this, once visited psychoactive experiment.
Today marks roughly a week now, and even though there is fatigue lingering from the overworked adrenals of chasing the morning high of first 40-60mg of tea, and "feeling tired still."
The peace is returning. The bags under my eyes are clearing up. And a warm lingering began manifest; and I was called once again to the familiarity of my home town, the side roads, and dirt trails I've been venturing since the Covid lockdown previously.
To Cultivate peace?
It is strange to me the better I've become at cultivating peace and clearing the mind, the more capable I feel of the daring feats. Culture would say the opposite. Things, like the X-games and Extreme Motocross have some thinking the way to go is "Monster Energy Drinks, Red Bulls," etc, to get there.
And maybe there is short term elation.. until the lack of sleep catches up with the cells..

A few days ago, I had a shitty headache and a deep feeling of drowsiness. The brain was signaling for it's fix. I took a nap, and got back on the road. Driving down the highway, the heavens and sky opened up to my perception for the first time in 3 months. "Oh yes. I forgot." I thought.
I was ever grateful to stare into the heavens, doing a steady 65MPH in my beat up old car. The sky, the clouds, and the sun beckoned me into heaven once again, blissfully. It makes me wonder the legitimacy of monks who claimed they used this for spiritual elevation, the scientists who tout the benefits of its effect on mind, and the 60% of the population that scramble, and fight, for a drop of it's black essence in their bloodstream every morning. Is this the proverbial "spice" that has been spoken about in "Dune" Novels?
The image of a Tree, and an old worn out bench some kids dragged up on some hill called to me again. Suddenly the idea of getting back on my bike, and riding to the spot for a peaceful study was very appealing. I'm passing through some kind of vortex, but I'm not sure what that is. Can it be, maybe even 5mg is the sweet spot? or has it always been 0g? My sense of smell returns. The pollen of Marches sun emanates to my nose as those sweet honey-smelling flowers hit me.
My natural state. Not afraid. Welcomed, to the saddle. Warmth emanating my backpack, my study books, my boots, and the blissful freedom of riding again all of a sudden seemed so appealing.
What was this black cloud that passed before me, in this experiment ? The nervousness, the ill temper, the road rage, the impulsivity. For the sake of progress? Because our ancestors supposedly doused themselves with "mead" as peasants for the king and their courts, before the caffeinated Renaissance that took Europe in the 1600s? I guess that is for the individual to find out..

“Hey there’s an open window. That’s perfect, let’s go in!”
Jessen leads you through a busted out window into the cement decay of an abandoned building that looks like it hasn’t been inhabited since the 70’s.
“Are you sure this is okay?” you ask.
“Totally! I do this all the time. I love finding new abandoned buildings to explore and see what I find. It’s like modern archeology. My parents don’t know though, so don’t say anything if you meet them.”
“Sure. How did you get into this?”
“Mmm. That parts kinda weird. But long story short, I used to cut myself a lot when I was really depressed. I’d come to places like this because nobody was here. But don’t worry, that’s all in my past now. These days I just explore and mess around. You can throw a brick at a wall or break a window and who cares. It’s just fun. Wanna try it? Take this rock and throw it at anything.”
“Uh…ok.”
You take the rock and half-heartedly throw it at a cinema poster on the wall.
“See. Who cares, right? Wasn’t that fun?” Jessen then walks over and kicks a small filing cabinet over.
“Take that, you stupid filing cabinet!” Jessen says laughing. “I’ve been trying to learn to look at the bright parts of life. But sometimes it feels good to kick over a filing cabinet.”
You guys spend an hour or so there talking about life. You learn that Jessen is a receptionist at a dentist’s office, but doesn’t really like the job, but also doesn’t know what else they’d do. Money is not an issue because they live at home and their parents cover a lot. So for now, Jessen is just killing time in life.

Brux

You’ve found yourself at a nice park on the outskirts of town. Sitting on a bench facing a large green area, Brux hands you some fabric and a needle and begins teaching you how to knit.
“It’s a little tricky at first, but you’ll get the hang of it,” Brux assures.
“So you knit here a lot?”
“When I can. It’s super peaceful and I like the fresh air.”
“Don’t take this the wrong way, but I’m surprised you’re into knitting. You don’t seem like one of those fashion-obsessed types.”
Brux smirks lightly. “You calling me a slob?”
“No, no, I-“
“Relax, I know you didn’t mean anything by it. Some things are more about the process than the result.”
“I guess you have a ‘point’ there!” you say, making a mock stabbing gesture toward Brux with your needle. But in a flash, Brux drops everything, grabs your needle hand, bending it behind your back, and shoves your torso toward your knees. After a second, they release their grip and apologize profusely.
“I’m so sorry!! It was a total reflex, I didn’t mean to do that! Please forgive me,” Brux says with a heavy blush as they help you back upright.
“Okay sure…but you need to tell me what’s up. Last time we met, you Houdini’d my wallet out of my pocket without me ever feeling a thing. Today you Bruce Lee’d me into a pretzel in the space of one second. I get that it was a reflex, but not a lot of people have that reflex. What’s the deal here???”
“It’s actually just from work.”
“Work?”
“I’m a stunt double. I work on films and stuff. My specialty is martial arts, so I stand in for a lot of the female macho types.”
“What?? Why am I just hearing this?”
“I don’t like to tell people because then they get all weird and start asking about celebrities and whatever. But I’m not a big red carpet type. It’s just a job for me. My parents put me in martial arts from an early age and I got scouted at a tournament and so I started taking film gigs because…money. But it’s not my identity. Sitting here on a bench with my yarns and good company is more my speed.”

Blue

And now for something complete different. After the blast you guys had at Disneyworld, this was a total contrast.
“Alright, we’re here!” Blue says as they park their SUV in a space beside a mountain. “This is the best hike in town!”
Blue then takes a swig of their energy drink and belches loudly as you guys open your car doors to get out. That burp sounded way louder than it needed to.
“Wow, you’re a rugged one, aren’t you?” you comment.
“I guess! I do a lot of camping and hiking and all that.”
Finally! That was the perfect segue to bring up that burning issue that’s been in the back of your mind. Sure, Blue was a sculpture-ready work of art, but that first date…
“Oh, so you do a lot of outdoor stuff? I guess that skill came in handy for that, uh, accident at the picnic the other day. I’m so glad you weren’t sick or anything. I was worried.”
“Accident? I didn’t have an accident. I took a dump. Just like everyone does- and a fat one at that!” they said with a comically exaggerated wink and a click of the tongue.
“But right behind a tree?” you say, trying to force a laugh so things don’t get too awkward.
“Life’s too short to hold onto energy. You see the peak on that mountain? That’s the challenge. You see this apple and granola bar? This is energy. Energy in, energy out, keep moving. Anyway, I grew up in a house with a dad and three brothers. We were always outdoors. But I’m kinda the high-fiber, water guzzling health nut in the family. My dad always jokes that my dog should carry a plastic baggie for me when we go out! But anyway, I’m human. I poop. Who cares. Now let’s get going- I’m about to take you on the best hike of your life and I can’t wait to see the smile on your face!”
Blue lets out a roar as they grab your hand and drag you toward the trailhead.
One thing about Blue you noticed is that they are always overflowing with energy. But they were a great hiking guide and knew all about the types of animals and plants you encountered. Blue shared lots of survivalist info and you could tell they were a master of the outdoors. You knew from previous conversations that they were a department store model and cashier at Abercrombie & Fitch, but you learned today that they’re in training to become a wilderness survival guide specializing in beginners who, as Blue described, “have never experienced the pure awesomeness of nature”.

Naeve

You didn’t even need a car. Naeve had you meet them in a rougher part of town and you set out down the street on foot. Soon, you understand why Naeve told you to dress down a bit. Naeve as usual is wearing thrifted indie clothing, so no change was necessary for them.
“I want you to meet some of my buds around here.” they say as they led you to a tent up the way.
“This is Jim. He’s the funniest guy you’ll ever meet.”
Jim is a homeless guy with a friendly smile. He’s been homeless since the Pandemic and Naeve occasionally brings him food when possible. Over the next couple hours, you accompany Naeve, meeting the homeless of all walks of life. You learn that Naeve was homeless for a few months, but they didn’t even seem to mind it that much. Now they live in a rent-controlled apartment near the homeless encampment but still stays in touch with the others and does everything possible to encourage local restaurants and grocery stores to donate food that’s about to go to waste. Naeve also participates in local activism to help reduce homelessness in the city and pass socially focused legislation.
“See, that’s what I call a perfect exchange,” Naeve said. “We had a great time, met some cool cats, and it didn’t cost us a dime. People today waste too much money. The world is already free entertainment!”
One thing you notice about Naeve is that they don’t need good looks to feel confident. They may be on the lower end of average, but they have a knack for relating to anyone and matching their energy. They kept you included in all the conversations and by the end, you felt really knowledgeable about a portion of society you didn’t know anything about.

Greetings, Prospectors!
Community Team here! We know that you folks have been waiting to dive into the full patch notes for Season 3 for quite a while now, especially with all that we've been teasing the past couple of months. Well, that wait is finally over, as the new season for The Cycle: Frontier begins today, along with a bunch of new features and changes.
Before we jump in, we'd like to take a moment to thank the people who played during Season 2. 182 days is admittedly a pretty long season, but we're super grateful for all of your support, positive messages and, most importantly, your constructive feedback. While this patch will include a large variety of updates and adjustments, this is only the first of many patches that we hope to put out throughout this new season. Let's dive into these notes, we've got a lot to unpack here!

NO MORE WIPES

You heard it here first, the final wipe is here! Players will start Season 3 completely fresh and on an even playing field. Kiss your Brute stash goodbye and put Season 2 behind you, because Season 3 will be taking you back to the start of the campaign where your prospecting journey began - except you now have all the knowledge of a seasoned, hardened Prospector to carry you. This, however, will be the last of these so-called mandatory wipes we have planned. Our game has been completely overhauled for a permanent progression system, and we will (after this wipe) no longer be forcing you to reset your progress within the game. You will of course keep any Aurum and earned cosmetics associated with your account. Welcome Packs that were previously purchased will also be regranted to you upon logging in for the first time after this last wipe. As a result of this new era, we've updated our in-game texts and descriptions to reflect this change. We could talk about what happened to the Storm Divers, why all of those flyers have mysteriously disappeared, or why the storm has suddenly gone back to normal. But the work of a Prospector is never done and that's a conversation for when you're older. Now get out there, veteran greenhorn, and earn your K-Marks!

FREE LOADOUT RUNS

Free Loadout Runs are coming! If you've found yourself low on K-Marks or maybe you're just starting out and learning the ways of Prospecting, consider grabbing a Free Loadout Run provided by the various factions. On the Deploy menu screens, players will now be met with an option to select your Prospector's Loadout of gear equipped from your stash or select a free randomized loadout put together by one of the factions. If a player has no gear equipped from their own stash, the free loadout option will be selected by default. If you have a loadout already selected from your stash, your prospector loadout will be selected by default. Note that if you choose to take the free gear, any previously equipped gear will be transferred to your stash, assuming there is room for everything. There is a cooldown on how often you can use a free loadout since it takes some time for the factions to put together what they're willing to give you. A timer will be visible on the loadout selection screen to let you know how long you'll have to wait before another loadout becomes up for grabs. Once selected, these loadouts will function the same as the normal loadouts you're used to. Take the gear down to Fortuna III and, if you survive, it's yours to keep. If you don't make it back without needing to be defoamed, that gear belongs to whomever is able to bring it back to the station.
Each faction should provide Prospectors with at least a weapon, armor, backpack, ammo, and health consumables with a chance for extra goodies to be thrown in by way of a 2nd weapon, weapon attachments, additional consumables, crafting mats, keycards, or helmets. Those greedy factions won't be too eager to give away anything too useful however, so these loadouts will more often than not contain white gear with much smaller chances of getting green or blue items for free. These loadouts may not turn your trips to Fortuna III into a walk in the park, but they should give you an extra boost if you're down bad or don't want to risk losing your hard-earned gear while learning the basics.

LOADOUT PRESETS

This is a long requested feature and we are happy to finally give players a way to equip everything they need for their planet-side ventures with one click. You can customize your preset loadouts with your favorite or most-used gear in the stash section of your inventory. When selecting a preset loadout to equip, any weapons, armor, helmets, ammo or other consumable items will be equipped directly from your stash. Any items that are not your stash will be purchased from the appropriate faction HQ automatically, with a popup asking you to confirm said purchase. New descriptions and UI sections have been added to properly teach you how to assemble and equip a preset loadout. When viewing a preset loadout before equipping, icons will display which items are currently available from a player's inventory, which items need to be purchased, and which items are unavailable. Use this feature to quickly get back into the action between runs and spend less time running between the faction shops to pickup the gear you need to achieve prospecting glory.

A NEW THREAT: THE HOWLER

The Howler is a flying insect-like monster that has emerged on the surface. This large and in-charge addition to the game aims to generate new drama and new player stories by overlapping with other events and happenings in the game. As part of our direction to create a game that is as suspenseful as it is fun, we hope that the Howler will add a new layer to the game in a variety of ways. The Howler is our first roaming creature, traveling through the skies from place to place. When it's idle, you can try to sneak past it or remain motionless, in the hopes that it won't hear you. However, once it's ready for fisticuffs, you'll experience a new type of PvE challenge that we'd like to say is somewhere between the Marauder and the Crusher in terms of difficulty. But we wouldn't quite call it a boss encounter either. One thing we know for sure, is that you won't have a hard time finding it, as you should see and hear it coming with relative ease.
In addition to the Howler, a new in-match activity has made its way to you: the Howler Nests. These nests contain Howler eggs that react to sound by simply exploding and expelling a toxic fume into the air that you'll want to steer clear from. However, if you're quiet and patient, there might just be something worth bragging about inside some of those eggs, assuming you can get your hands in there and survive to tell the tale. We hope that this new organic and reactive element will offer new ways to traverse areas of all three maps that were once free of... whatever those things are made of.
To top it off, both the Howler and Howler eggs will drop unique items that can be used to complete new quest missions, upgrade your player quarters, and craft new items. As a result, you'll be able to create your own Howler Grenades, new throwing weapons aiming to recreate the Howler's signature move: its disorienting shriek. They affect both Prospectors and wild creatures, and we can't wait to see how you put them to use. Sure, we could have just introduced basic flashbangs into the game, but where's the fun in that eh?
The Howler will also come with it's own brand new questline that you will be able to complete with Osiris, are you sure you'll know how to use that?
Consider rallying other Prospectors on the surface if you're trying to take down a Howler in the early stages of the game. If you can put your hunger for gear aside, you and your new teammates might be able to take it down before anyone else. THE WAR ON CHEATING

As with every update, Season 3 comes with plenty of backend improvements to our anti-cheat detections and preventions, some big and some small, to help make cheating even more difficult than it already is. For the sake of security we can't go into exact details here, but these changes include better methods of automatically detecting cheats, better tracking tools for our support team to investigate suspicious players, and more obfuscation measures to make the actual development of cheats more difficult. We have also worked closely with our friends at BattlEye to make sure that the game is in top-top shape for the release of the new season.
Since we know Season 3 will also have many players returning to the game, we will give a quick recap on some of the major improvements we've made to our anti-cheat systems since Season 1:

Shielded Matchmaking: Helps give our Trusted players an added layer of security, and makes the creation of alt-accounts much more difficult for cheaters.
Cheating Victim Compensation: Automatically compensates players who fell victim to a cheater once that cheater is banned.
Data Obfuscation: Makes the creation and development of cheats more difficult and time consuming.
A Dedicated Anti-Cheat Team: Closely monitors and quickly reacts to any new threats the game might face.
Third Party Tools: We have worked closely with anti-cheat specialists like BattlEye to add additional layers of security to the game.
Revamped in-game reports: Makes the process of sending reports much smoother, and gives our team more data to investigate cheaters.

A NEW HOME: PROSPECT STATION UPDATES

Construction crews have been hard at work lately, giving our refuge floating above Fortuna III a facelift. On your next visit to Prospect Station, you will notice all the familiar hotspots have a brand new, if shadier, look. It's pretty likely that a hub for adventurous Prospectors more focused on surviving than sanitation won't be the cleanest place, but that doesn't mean we can't have some nice things. Take a stroll around the new storefronts and investigate all the new activity that will help give more life to the place we all call home. You will find new NPCs roaming about the station along with plenty of neat additions. Try not to get too distracted though, your main job is still Prospecting and surviving.

ECONOMY TUNING FOR NON-WIPING GAME

Removing mandatory wipes means we'll operate on an economy focused on the long term. Making adjustments to how the economy used to function was imperative. As a result, finding and obtaining exotic and legendary items will be much harder than before and early game can be adjusted to feel far less punishing to new players who are just finding their bearings on Fortuna III. We've overhauled many early game quests to feel less overwhelming (but still challenging), in addition to making late-game accomplishments feel much more rewarding. Players will have a chance, albeit a very small one, to find gear with a tier above the area they're in. Leave no stone unturned on the surface, as opening a weapon crate to find a Voltaic Brute, or checking a jacket to find a rare keycard should now feel like a true jackpot moment and get your heart pumping as you make your way to the evac ship. We do not want late-game players to have infinite access to the best gear in the game. Sure, unlocking something great should be a big milestone, but upkeeping high-level loadouts should be difficult, and bringing a full end-game loadout into a match should be a truly special occasion - this is what makes the infinite gear chase more thrilling. This required us to re-think how easily players can re-purchase gear that they have unlocked, and how often, as well as how deep our money sinks are running.
We've added additional ammo variants for different weapons that will increase in cost as you progress to higher tiers of weapons, which means you will have to be much more conscious of the risk versus reward of constantly running that Voltaic Brute if your goal is just to kill creatures at Greens Prospect. The new challenge for end-game players will be to maintain the ability to run the highest level gear when it makes the most sense to do so. Purchasing weapons from the factions will now also cost faction scrips in addition to their usual K-Mark costs, so completing jobs and quests for each faction will be more important than ever. The loot pool of items that can be found has been updated to encourage players to be more diligent when searching for goodies at various POIs to have that jackpot moment when finding a rare item.

NEW WEAPONS/AMMO: MKI & MKII VARIANTS

The arsenal of weapons available at your disposal will be expanded to accomplish a few different goals. First and foremost, the new versions of the weapons will help cover some of the gaps we previously had in the weapon lineup with LMGs, launchers, SMGs, snipers, and shotguns. This means you will find more rarities of different weapon types to offer more choices of what you can use on your journeys to Fortuna III. This change also gives players an opportunity to use their favorite weapon skins more frequently on more weapons that sometimes became obsolete as you progressed to higher levels.

You will see two different variants of some guns in the form of MkI and MkII weapons. MkI weapons will be lower tier versions of current versions, while MkII weapons will be higher tier versions of their original counterparts. There will be some differences between MkI/MkII and their current versions in the form of damage or penetration values, types of attachments you can use on each weapon, and types of ammo that will be needed for different tiers.
This will also allow us to make the higher tier guns rarer without diluting the weapon pool too heavily, and still give players the 'jackpot' moment if/when you find a rarer gun from a weapon crate.

BALANCING IMPROVEMENTS

Along with the aforementioned economy tuning, some balance changes needed to be made to accommodate the non-wiping systems. The biggest change you might notice is how quickly armor durability will decrease when attacked by other players and/or creatures during fights. This will make prospectors think twice about engaging potential enemies while affecting decisions about what armor is worth the risk for their goals for each match. Don't forget to repair your armor between matches if you want to stay fully protected during runs. We've also tuned some weapons following the addition of the new MkI and MkII weapons, but there will be more details on that in a later section of the patch notes.
Meanwhile, Prospectors will now have more choices for their methods of destruction (or protection) while exploring Fortuna III. Starting capacity of each prospector's safe pocket has been increased from 5 to 9 to help with progression through some earlier questlines and player quarter upgrades have been adjusted to account for those changes. Creature behavior and health have received some tuning to make them a bit less of a pain to deal with in some cases. Standard variants of Striders and Rattlers had their total health reduced and shouldn't be as spongy to damage as previous iterations. The range at which creatures are able to see and hear prospectors has been adjusted slightly along with the amount of time it takes to de-aggro from a target. Be more aware of your surroundings as stealth and sneakiness will be much more important than it previously was if you want to stay undetected.
We have also made some other smaller balance changes as well. Mid-air accuracy has been reduced for most weapons to help make the combat feel a bit more grounded, many key crafting components have had their crafting timers reduced, and there have been changes across the board to loot drops and rewards to help facilitate the new economy. It's more changes than we can realistically list here, so we encourage you to drop down to Fortuna III and discover them all for yourself.

MATCHMAKING UPDATES

Matchmaking is a topic that is often discussed in Discord, Reddit, and Steam forums. More importantly, it's one that we are not oblivious to. During Season 2, we switched things up from using average evac value to using K/D ratio as the main factor for determining the MMR rating used to place players in different buckets. We found that while this was certainly a step in the right direction towards making matches fairer, there is still room for improvement to avoid brand new players who have a good run from being unfairly matched with more veteran players getting blasted by gear far beyond what they have access to. While matches in TC:F are meant to be somewhat uncertain, we definitely understand how frustrating it can be to constantly die due to an total imbalance of weaponry before you have a chance to react. To combat this, but still maintain some sense of tension and uncertainty about what you might encounter during any given drop to Fortuna III, we will be implementing a form of gear score in combination with K/D when determining a player's MMR calculations. This doesn't mean that you will only see players wearing the same gear as you in a match, as that limits the ability to have score big 'come ups', but it will help keep players more fairly matched and make it less likely that new players will be constantly overpowered while they are learning the ropes.
Another big topic of feedback we received regarding matchmaking is how difficult it is to regularly survive when outnumbered during encounters with other players on Fortuna III. With Season 3, you will now find the separation of buckets based on squad size that was originally implemented for Bright Sands during Season 2, now spread across all three maps. This means that no matter what your skill set or what map you choose you should only see other solos as a solo, duos as a duo, or trios as a trio in trusted matchmaking buckets.

EARLY GAME EXPERIENCE UPDATES

We've made another pass on early missions in order to give new players a better overview of what to expect and the basics of life as a Prospector. This includes more detailed explanations of certain tasks and additional tips for features that should become useful when staying alive after gaining the trust of the factions and becoming a full blown prospector.

Returning players will no longer be required to complete the tutorial missions once they've been completed once. They will only appear when launching the game for the first time on a new account

During the first drop and tutorial, Prospectors will now hear gunshot sounds to get them accustomed to more of the sounds they should expect to hear during their time on Fortuna III
Popups and voiceover lines for early tasks should better inform users of what their goals should be
The flow of the early game has been finetuned to make the process run more smoothly as players progress through each task
Early game matchmaking has been significantly tuned to better ease new players into the game

LOCKED KEYCARD ROOM IMPROVEMENTS

Keycard rooms have been reworked across the board to give much juicier loot, but to compensate, keycards are now much rarer and have less uses. Now they will truly be "loot rooms", instead of "a few white stims and an AR-55" rooms. Keycard rooms should also feel more "themed," containing items that are more relative to the location of the rooms. We're very excited to see what you discover!

Fortuna pass is chock full of vanity like the last season. We still wanted to give you as many weapon skins as possible in addition to:

NEW PROSPECTOR ARCHETYPES

All prospectors will have a new customizable default base suit, chest piece, gloves, and boots that can be equipped from the character customization screen. Different from the previous seasons; you can now purchase/acquire single outfit pieces like base suits, chests, boots, and gloves. We will still have some of the outfit bundles available next to these new single (ready to mingle) pieces.
This season, we tried to be a little wilder to explore some different effects for almost all the cosmetic types. You'll see some see-through bellies running around with Unbound Synth, wicked melee, charms and weapons that look like they are taken right out of a Howler's gastric - or rather fun and progressive charms, melee weapons etc. We still would like to expand and improve on this! (you know what? if you press U - you can inspect those kick ass weapons, charms, and melee in match. All of our items have their rarity assigned! Get ready for some epic and exotics!

Unbound Synth: A prospector which is perfect for you! Our first less human, more android prospector with a few emotions (maybe none at all) and the strongest dedication
The Artillery: She will be joining the team very soon - after dealing with her internal reckoning
The Jungle Bandit: A sneaky one that thinks adding a couple of bushes makes him look visible - but in reality it just looks dashing! He'll be with us later in the season - still collecting some bushes to perfect it's outfit
Authority Operative: Without any communication with HQ, and without pay, even the Authority's commandos need to earn a living. Where better to put their skills to use than the planet's hellish surface?

CHANGES

DLSS 3 has been implemented and will be available for those with compatible graphics processors
To make them a more exciting end-game challenge, Laser Drills will now be exclusive to Crescent Falls. They may return to Bright Sands again in the future with some balancing tweaks
The Crusher Caverns have had a massive overhaul, the caves will now be a significantly more difficult end game activity that will take team coordination and top end gear to survive
Prospectors will now take a short ride on the evac ship before fully extracting. Enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of Fortuna III before returning to the Station, but don't get shot
New grenade with the Howler shriek contained inside will be craft-able using Howler loot drops
Added a new weapon inspection feature with new animations to let prospectors check out their cool skins on weapons and melee sets
Players will now have a chance to find weapons with pre-loaded attachments while looting different areas. The rarity of these attachments will determine its chances of spawning
Attachments, consumables, and items all have clear numerical values about how they affect different mechanics
New and updated questlines
Prospectors will now have the ability to redeem promotion codes and coupons directly from the game to receive promotional items without going to their store launcher
Names and descriptions of armor and helmets are now more descriptive of their functions to better fit with the lore
Weapon description texts have been updated to include distances at which the gunshot sounds are audible
Some crafting recipes have been updated to require Howler loot drops
Tharis Island will not be accessible or unlockable by way of campaign missions immediately at the start of the season. As a result, crafting or player upgrades that require items only obtained on Tharis will be temporarily inaccessible until April 19th when the Island will be globally unlocked
A new keycard has been added to the lineup of keycards available
Possibly related to the new keycard, a new way to enter and exit the Forge has been added to Tharis Island. The door can be dangerous so proceed with caution
Keycard availability and durability received an update
Keycards cost has been updated to include a script cost when purchasable from the factions
Player Quarter upgrades received an update to include higher K-mark investment and new recipes for upgrade costs
Gear durability and repair costs have been changed to work better with a long-term economy in mind

Improved the prevention of players spawning next to each other to give Prospectors more breathing room when they drop onto Fortuna III

BUGFIXES

Fixed a bug where the speed penalty would persist after switching items from a charged heavy melee attack without performing the heavy melee attack
Removed an invisible collision barrier that prevented players from interacting with Osiris faction leader
Items will no longer visually duplicate themselves when sorting inventory or moving items from backpack to stash
Removed unintended access methods for areas above East Caverns on Bright Sands
Invisible post will not stop you from approaching the Fortuna Pass booth on the station
Adjusted the UI display to prevent overlapping of contract screens when multiple contracts are claimable
A very specific tree in Jungle had some faulty animations that have been resolved by our in-house horticulturist
Weapons, tools, and consumables will no longer vanish from your hands when swapping between grenades and other consumables
Players will now be able to successfully leave a party after removing a friend from friends list while in an active squad
Map updates and removal of several exploit spots across all 3 maps
Many, many more bug fixes but too many to list for the sake of saving space

MISC

In-game notification system has been revamped to better notify players of the most important events and actions while playing the game
Players can now sign up for our TCF email newsletter without leaving the game and see rewards before signing up
New key art has been added to the loading screen
New icons and UI images have been added for new in-game items
Discrepancies in vanity descriptions for various items in Windfall's Shop and Fortuna Pass have been unified
Mission images have been updated
Visibility of tool tip information has been improved
Weight and stack sizes for some items have been adjusted
New Emotes, sprays, character cosmetics and weapon skins will be available from the Fortuna Shop and Fortuna Pass rewards throughout the season
End of season widget has been updated in accordance with no longer having wipes each season
UI Tooltips have been adjusted
New icons have been added to the Feedback section of the menus
Added a UI element to clarify that player's are able to return to a map at any time once it has been unlocked

KNOWN ISSUES

We are currently investigating an issue that causes some crashes when using NIVIDIA 40 series cards on the Epic Games Launcher. A fix will be pushed as soon as it is ready
Sometimes the Crusher Caverns can have issues spawning mobs (or spawn too many mobs), if you encounter this issue please reach out to a community manager with your prospect.log files
There are some cases where a player can get stuck on a Badum FTUE task. A simple restart of the game should resolve that but our team is working on a more permanent fix
Some of the emotes are not previewed correctly in various screens like Fortuna Pass, Special Offers etc. You can still fully see all the amazing moves and our little Leafling, Marauder etc in the station and in match but we will look into how to best preview them
Some of the new items with additional effects are missing an indicator on the icons to imply so. Once you go to the preview or see them in game - you'll be amazed (and we'll be fixing that little marker issue)
