(This is an official post from SP, copied from their discord server. See these links for Episode #1- Revenge of the Phoenix (High Reborn) and Episode #2 - Leader Gone Rogue (High Arcane))

EPISODE #3 - Plague of Whispers (High Whisperer)

✨ “A Dragon Master says goodnight to their newly-hatched dragon, leaving the wide-eyed baby to get some rest. They smile to themselves, knowing what valiant adventures lie ahead for this little one and the heroic deeds it will surely accomplish.
Squelch...
The Dragon Master stands in something slimy on their way out from the Habitat; a trail of purple gloop. They take no notice – it's probably nothing to worry about.
The thing about whispers is that they thrive in the minds of the innocent. The younger the host, the more susceptible their mind is to corruption. And sadly, once they've worked their way inside, there's no escape.
This particular baby dragon was never seen again. Gone, forever. And the High Whisperer Dragon now had one more puppet under his corrupted tentacles.
You might think living your whole life in a dark, watery abyss is enough to make anyone go crazy, but Whisperer's level of corruption was something unheard of in Dragon City. Had he been born this way or had something terrible happened to him?
His species were one of the first signs of underwater life. From single-cell organisms to complex creatures, Whisperer has always been there, lying dormant in the trenches. He's seen everything. He's observed dragon evolution and witnessed the dragon's first steps onto land. But with great miracles of nature also come the inherent principles of greed, anger, violence, disloyalty...
He saw first-hand the innate corruption that lies within us all. Dragons cheat, lie, fight, hurt each other... Is this what the Dragonverse really had to offer? A bunch of inexperienced beasts mindlessly fighting in the Arenas or racing for Gold? Whisperer had seen enough; he knew his whispers could save everyone...from themselves. If dragons just conformed to his ideals, he knows there'd be less pain among us.
Whispering into the ears of the susceptible was an effective but slow process; he needed others to also do his dirty work for him... The Cult Priestess Dragon was his first loyal recruit, followed by his own corrupted creation, the Tentacle Amalgam Dragon. But Whisperer still lacked the sheer force to grow his family of puppets.
Experienced Dragon Masters know the story from here. His Clan of Corrupted Titans still proves to be one of our biggest threats.
Every day they bring him one step closer to having everyone and everything under his control, making the world a ‘better place’, free from dragon nature.” ✨

2023.03.30 15:31 Wonderful_Pie_7220 need advice.. what would you do? sorry so long

My dad whom I haven't seen in 10 years is in the hospital dying.. My half brother said he will go soon. They didn't think he would make it through the night but he did. I came here because y'all we probably understand why I'm hesitant to go.
• He never physically hurt me just mentally. • he DID beat my siblings and mom with me in the room ( I was not even 5 and I still get flashbacks from it) • He SA my mom after she left him. She worked in as a maid in a hotel and would take me bc I wasn't in school yet so I got to go with her and he found her and SA her with me in the room. I have flashbacks and can't have my ears touched without freaking out and having an episode bc of something that happened that day. • He changed a lot from the time I was 5. I didn't see him again till I was 11. My mom died in a wreck when I was 6 and my grandparents took me in bc he was in jail.
From 11-15 I spent the summer with him and didn't see him again till I was 22.
I have never been closer to him.
When I first found out last night I completely broke down and I don't know why. We aren't close and he has caused me mental issues with everything he has done. To make it worse my half brother told me he was asking about me and wanted to see me before he goes. My son has never met him and wants to.
What would you do? Sorry so long...

2023.03.30 15:30 Fit_Inflation6207 Can I sue for a work injury caused by lack of training?

Scotland btw
I recently started working at a care home and were understaffed so the new employees never get proper inductions etc. Anyways, 62 days in and I still haven't had my movement and handling training which you're supposed to have before handling any of the patients and I've been made to do just about everything with no training.
I few weeks ago I was working with a resident and they fell and whilst I caught him i reinjured my shoulder from a year or so back.
Is there any way I can sue negligence to training through injury claims?

2023.03.30 15:30 80s_playlist What jobs have shorter workweeks?

Hello everyone,
I really value work-life balance. I realized recently that the less days I go in, the better. Shorter hours is nice, but there's the anticipatory anxiety before going in. It just makes more sense to me that, if I need full time hours (got to pay the rent somehow), I would much rather do that over 3-4 days instead of 5-6, even if that means I'm working 12+ hours a day at work.
I'm currently a CNA. Some facilities allow a 3×12 schedule, just not the one I'm working at. I'm very good at the customer service aspect, the respect and caring for patients. I'm currently in a nursing home and work in memory care (think dementia, people who are roaming) or standard long term acute. Even though it can be rewarding, it is also very emotionally taxing.
I'm willing to work and train in whatever. I have a bachelor's degree in math already, tried teaching for a while, but it wasn't for me.
What other options are there?
Thanks for your time!

Thanks Oculus/Facebook/Meta for the planned obsolescence
The headset works just fine and I'll be using it for many more years... Just got Virtual Desktop which blows Air Link and even Quest Link (cable) out of the water...
At the very least I hope some awesome people make some custom ROMs for the original quest so we can get Android 12L. It's the exact same thing with cell phones, manufacturers stop supporting them so we buy new ones, all it takes is someone to take the new OS ROMs from the new devices, includsome drivers and after some testing old devices can run the new software just fine.

Looking for input on this quote
Hello everyone! The wife and I have been floating the idea of solar for a little bit. We just got this quote and to me, I like it.
We are in a new build home that we moved into last fall so we have not yet gone through the hot summer months where we’d use more power. So our energy bill seems slightly low, though the company did work an estimate in for that.
The total solar offset they gave us is 111.5% and total panels would be 18. Just looking for opinions and thoughts. I was expecting this to cost more so that is why I am happy with this.

2023.03.30 15:29 bryqu Bryqu's indie gamedev story so far: finding motivation

It's time for me to give back to this community. My tactical strategy game, Shardpunk: Verminfall, is almost ready for release (just two weeks to go!). With this in mind, I want to start sharing some insights on my journey as an indie game developer.
Here's my story: I started working on Shardpunk as a hobby project in 2018. Thanks to the help of a publisher, I was able to transition to full-time development in 2021. Two and a half years later, I'm just a few weeks away from releasing my first commercial product. It seems that it is present in the "popular upcoming" section on Steam, which (from what I've heard) is an important thing.
Although I can't claim to have released a game just yet, that will change in a couple of weeks. I want to share all the useful things I've learned along the way. Reading posts like this helped me to stay persistent when I was starting out, so hopefully, now I can help someone in return.
One of the most common questions people ask is how to find motivation to work on their game. There's no universal answer to that, but there are a few things that I believe are important:

Have nice game visuals

While it's true that gameplay mechanics should keep players engaged, working on a game that looks better than crappy programmer art can boost your confidence (and help attract more attention, but that's something for another story).
If you're not really into creating graphics, consider using free assets or - if you already have an idea of the direction of your game assets should go in - hire a freelancer to do the job.

Work on vertical slice rather than creating horizontal layers

Related to the previous point, focus on creating a fully functioning part of your game rather than numerous half-baked systems. Nothing is more demotivating than working on features that you can't play with for months on end. While it's tempting to work on that one fancy piece of code that you'll be really proud of, remember that the code is just a means to an end.
If you plan to release your game, the ultimate goal is to create a game that you can sell. Therefore, prioritize completing features that players can experience and enjoy. While it's important to have well-written code, it's not the only factor that determines a game's success.
In short, focus on delivering a working game that players will enjoy, and use code as a tool to achieve that goal.

Keep the code clean, do the "good enough" approach

It's important to keep your code readable and utilize best practices, but avoid overcomplicating things. Before writing complex code for a game mechanic, ask yourself if it's necessary. After a few playtests, you may find that the mechanic needs to be completely rewritten or scrapped.

Ignore motivation, embrace persistence

It's a common piece of advice, but it's so true: most of the time, you won't feel motivated. You'll have bad days at work, and life events may leave you feeling like giving up. But persistence is key.
It's important to avoid burnout - so a strict "no zero days" mentality is not the best approach, as it can lead to unhealthy work habits. But you still need to keep grinding, even on days when you don't feel like it. This is the part where many aspiring indie game developers fail.
Remember that making a game is a long-term commitment. There will be challenges and setbacks along the way, but it's important to stay strong and keep pushing forward. You'll be amazed at what you can accomplish if you stick with it.
And if I managed to get this far, you can too! Take care!

2023.03.30 15:29 louied91 Puma Exploration Reports Assay Results From Fall 2022 HQ Drilling and Confirms Non-Acid Generating Rock at the Lynx Gold Zone

News Link: https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2023/03/30/2637736/0/en/Puma-Exploration-Reports-Assay-Results-From-Fall-2022-HQ-Drilling-and-Confirms-Non-Acid-Generating-Rock-at-the-Lynx-Gold-Zone.html
RIMOUSKI, Quebec, March 30, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Puma Exploration Inc. (TSXV: PUMA, OTCQB: PUMXF) (the “Company” or “Puma”) is pleased to report up to 12.03 g/t gold over 1.50 m in short (only 6 to 18 m depth) HQ holes drilled last fall at the Lynx Gold Zone (“LGZ”). The holes were drilled as part of an expanded metallurgical test announced on November 15, 2022. Static Acid Base Accounting and Total Sulphur testing also determined that the rock is non-acid-generating.
These preliminary results from our expanded metallurgical test are very positive. Our gold-bearing quartz veins contain almost no sulphide or arsenic. Bulk sampling and potential mining would therefore be non-acid-generating. These results are significant as they enable us to further de-risk a potential mining operation at the Lynx Gold Zone,” notes Marcel Robillard, President and CEO of Puma Exploration.
The expanded metallurgical test was conducted to better define the gold mineralization found at surface (within the first 10 metres) at the Lynx Gold Zone, identify opportunities and potential challenges for gold recovery and help design the flowsheet (recipe) for processing the upcoming bulk sample. Test work on 300 kg of material collected on each of the 12 main quartz veins (3,300 kg total) at the LGZ is pending and will be released in the coming weeks.
HQ DRILLING Eight (8) HQ holes, for a total of 102 m, were drilled on three (3) main quartz veins. Drilling targeted both high- and low-grade veins (see Figure 1). Since the veins are known to dip, the holes were collared vertically to hit both the quartz veins at surface and the rhyolite underneath. Sampling of the quartz veins and the host rock was undertaken to corroborate the gold results of grab samples collected during surface exploration, verify their acid-generating potential, identify any negative implications of an open pit operation and provide valuable information for planning the upcoming bulk sample.
Consistent with results to date, the gold grades of the outcropping quartz veins assayed in the drill core reflect the gold grades from grab samples collected at surface as shown in holes WB22-114 with 25.20 g/t Au over 0.45 m, WB22-118 with 19.65 g/t Au over 0.90 m and WB22-117 with 7.99 over 0.90 m (see Figure 2). Of note and as anticipated, gold mineralization was continuous from surface with assays returning 3.05 g/t Au over 6.00 m (WB22-114), 1.23 g/t over 10.00 m (WB22-117), and 2.52 g/t Au over 10.00 m (WB22-118) (see Table 1).
CONFIRMATION OF NON-ACID-GENERATING ROCK
Acid mine drainage (“AMD”) is a major environmental concern for mining operations. Mining companies must determine if weathering/oxidation of rock at their mine site produces acid and must devise and deploy a mitigation strategy to counteract acid production if present.
RPC tested 33 selected samples from the HQ holes drilled on the surface veins and on another 2 holes drilled in 2022 that intercepted the sediment hanging wall. All samples were subjected to static Acid Base Accounting (ABA) test work. None were found to be potentially acid-producing. In addition, the total sulphur content in all samples was either very low or below the detection limit of 0.005%. The ratio between Neutralizing Potential and Acid Production Potential along with the Total Sulphur results indicate that none of the 33 submitted samples were acid-producing.
UPCOMING GOLD INVESTOR EVENTS
Puma invites shareholders and interested parties to schedule a meeting at the upcoming conferences to discuss the Company's recent news and proposed developments:

2023.03.30 15:29 Afoolfortheeons A weep a wop a weep a wop a weep a wop a weep a wop IN THE JUNGLE, THE MIGHTY JUNGLE, THIS SONG GETS STUCK IN YOUR HEAD

Ok I'm going to try something here. Haven't done this in a while. No that's not true, I've done this recently, but not too recently, and not sober. What am I dicking on about? Free-form stream of consciousness bitches! Going to be hard if my friend's girl doesn't shut the fuck up about nursing home stories, but her boo is in the hospital and needs someone to talk to. I'd say more, but he'll be out in a day or two and if he wants to elaborate, I'm sure he will. Which he won't.
I'm always surprised when someone is reserved about something online, or otherwise secretive or private. Like, I've been living with my whole self on display for eight years and literally there have been no consequences. Even during the sex cult! Ok, I got the FBI's attention, but that amounted to a week in the hospital, which worked out because I was about out of money and that fed me for the rest of the month. So, it was part of God's plan!
Things just work out for me. How can I not feel like the messiah? My life has been perfectly tailored for me. I have to be in a simulation, analog or digital. What I mean by that is either I'm in a computer simulation or everyone is an actor and I'm in the Truman Show. Well, not everyone needs to be an actor. Only a certain percentage of main interactions need to be staged to functionally mind control a person. Plant ideas, water them, let them grow on their own before pruning them later down the line.
That's what SSS feels like with the synchronicities waxing and waning at times. I really think "they" intentionally create a series of tailored artificial synchronicities which primes the brain to be tuned to a certain frequency, and then "they" let go of the leash and you run on a predictable autopilot picking up false positive synchronicities that reinforce the ideas planted by the artificial synchronicities.
But, then there are the truly impossible synchronicities. When I was like four or five, my mom and I got back from one of her doctor's appointments and she took me to the garden. She said something that made me look in the drainage ditch, and there was a really special galaxy marble there! Well, when I was homeless in Portland, I was having a rough time as the pigeons were telling me that I would never fit in when I looked next to the bench I was sitting on. There was the same fucking marble there! Same exact one! And as soon as I pick it up, this businessman says on his cell phone, "She'll always be with you." WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?! Are you telling me these mother fuckers planned this shit twenty-five years in advance? No, that was God. No doubt in my mind.
What the fuck do you do when your life is full of strangeness like that? I don't know, I just live. It's working out for me at the very least. Lean into the strangeness. Nothing's real, so fall off the main path to see the true nature of the universe. 'Tis a fun place if your heart is pure.

Help me with this. I have been stuck here for days. It fails after some test cases.
My logic. For a given matrix A, A can only be decomposed if and only if for all 0 < i, j < n A[i, j] + A[j, i] is even. If the matrix can be decomposed then it can be decomposed into minimum of at most 2 matrices.

2023.03.30 15:28 DogshitHandGrenade PXMD - Update on Dilution - StockTwits Ban - Potato Fam, I’ll be chatting here.

$PXMD
Hey Potato Fam. I read the 10-k and it looks like there was some dilution from Dec 31 to Feb 2. They used the LINCOLN facility to the tune of 1.2m shares and received $2.8M. That means they issued shares to LINCOLN when VWAP was around $2.33 stock price. That is actually incredible timing and they got a pretty good deal for those shares.
This was a 10% Dilution and company double their cash position to +$2.8M. This is nothing like TRKA dilution of 600% for Zero Dollars.
Nothing has changed too much on this play. The FF has increased, so we will see Ortex adjust their figures over night and it will look like the FF has drastically dropped. Be prepared for this. It DOES NOT MEAN short have covered. Short are still here, still underwater, and still bleeding to death. The dilution occurred at a price WAY above their short position.
I have not changed my strategy. These shares entered the market long before any of us did. The fundamental play is based on a fuck-up due to FTDs and Trader Desk misinterpreting the insider sell and shorting the bottom of the stock.

2023.03.30 15:28 Duramazon0820 This Season Was Rough..

Before you downvote, just note, this is MY OPINION.
With that being said, this season was pretty bad. There were really only two episodes that hit for me this season (episodes 4,5) and the rest felt like rehashes of the same joke. And if the joke didn’t land the first time, the whole episode wouldn’t be funny. For example, I really didn’t like the Japanese toilet episode. Why? Same jokes. Over and over.
Maybe I’m just being grumpy. Idk.

2023.03.30 15:28 Admirable_Extreme449 When It Comes To Communist China’s Grip On U.S. Institutions, TikTok Is Only The Beginning

There is a wide, bipartisan consensus that TikTok is effectively Chinese Communist Party spyware, which makes it an easy target for legislators and the Biden administration to ban. Keeping China away from American data, however, could easily become an excuse for the ruling class to claim they are successfully warding off infiltration from a foreign adversary without truly addressing all of the ways China has compromised our nation.
The Biden administration, Congress, states, and agencies such as the FBI agree communist China poses a grave threat to U.S. security. Action to combat these concerns in recent years, however, has largely revolved around the CCP’s weaponization of TikTok.
To put it simply, U.S. attempts to combat China’s vast infiltration campaign by simply banning TikTok is the easy out. The CCP has a grip on Americans and has stealthily tightened that grip for years. Here are other important ways communist China has embedded itself in U.S. institutions.
The Biden Family Business
The family business of President Joe Biden is sustained by overseas dealings with foreign actors including those linked to communist China. Hunter Biden and his uncle James Biden were funneled millions of dollars from companies directly influenced by the CCP to offer the “spy chief of China” legal representation. Two weeks after he traveled to communist China on his dad’s Air Force Two jet, Hunter also helped his Chinese business partners secure a deal that gave them control of a cobalt mine in Congo.
Just last year, the president sold oil from emergency reserves to the same Chinese gas giant that Hunter’s private equity firm, BHR Partners, once owned a $1.7 billion stake in.
Even if Joe wasn’t guilty of helping out his nation’s No. 1 adversary, his relationship with Hunter and the access his son acquired through his father’s status makes him guilty by proxy. Joe is susceptible to sway from Hunter’s foreign buddies including those closely linked to the CCP.
Congress
Congress is littered with legislators who are compromised by China. Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell formed a close relationship with a Chinese spy who spent years building connections with Democrats so she could send political intelligence and personal information back to communist China. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao similarly spent decades getting rich off of the Chao family’s maritime shipping company, which has deep ties to the Chinese government. Government
In July 2022, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee revealed CCP officials compromised a Federal Reserve employee’s IT equipment and WeChat account. Unfortunately, that was not an isolated incident. Dozens of state and local governments have also fallen prey to the clutches of CCP spy campaigns.
Land
Lawmakers on both sides of the political aisle have raised alarms and proposed bills to stop foreign adversaries such as China from buying up U.S. territory. So far, however, those efforts have not stopped the CCP’s encroachment.
As of 2021, China owns 384,000 acres of American farmland, much of it located near U.S. military bases and other critical infrastructure, and is only increasing its control each year. Between 2009 and 2016, China’s foreign land investments grew from $300 million to $3.3 billion. In 2021, Chinese investors often linked to the CCP acquired 98 percent more U.S. land than they did between 2015 and 2019.
U.S. officials know China purchases land with malicious intent. For example, in 2017, U.S. officials uncovered CCP plans to plant listening devices near sensitive military and government facilities.
Skies
China has surveilled the U.S. using spy balloons for years. Most recently, a CCP balloon equipped with “multiple antennas” for “intelligence surveillance” completed a days-long cross-country journey above some of the nation’s most sensitive locations. It was only after that journey ended that the Biden administration opted to shoot it down.
Fentanyl Crisis
As House Republicans and witnesses demonstrated during a Subcommittee on National Security, Illicit Finance, and International Financial Institutions hearing last week, the CCP is invested in increasing the presence of fentanyl in the U.S. because it destabilizes the nation and kills tens of thousands of Americans yearly.
China does this by selling and exporting the precursor chemicals required to make potent and lucrative opioids to cartels that then bring the deadly drug across the southern U.S. border. In 2022, Customs and Border Protection seized 14,700 pounds of fentanyl. That’s triple the amount it seized in 2020 and doesn’t account for the fentanyl that was not detected by border agents.
Pharmaceuticals
Speaking of precursor chemicals, the U.S. relies on China, the world’s largest producer of active pharmaceutical ingredients, for everyday generic drugs and medical equipment. A report from the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission in 2019 found that the Chinese government wants to exploit that dependency and become the world’s biggest producer of pharmaceutical products.
China’s hostility further manifested in 2020 when a CCP propaganda outlet suggested the Beijing government might cut off its drug and equipment supply to Americans so the U.S. would “sink into the hell of a novel coronavirus epidemic.”
Academia
One of the most well-documented ways China infiltrates the U.S. is through academia and Confucius Institutes. These organizations, often disguised as cultural programs, are designed to expand China’s influence and allies abroad.
Instead of fighting against this part of China’s soft power campaign, the Biden administration stealthily eliminated a Trump-era proposal that required educational institutions to disclose their relationship with Confucius Institutes. Biden’s decision allowed Beijing to reopen dozens of its infiltration hubs under different names.
The administration has also largely ignored the role Chinese state actors play in exploiting the vulnerabilities in U.S. higher education. Students from China are often advised by Chinese embassies or working for China’s People’s Liberation Army.
Since 2013, the Chinese government also has been the largest source of foreign donations to U.S. universities, and since 2011, Chinese sources have participated in donations or contracts worth more than $426 million to U.S. universities.
Intellectual Property
Because of its successful infiltration into higher education, China places spies in front-row seats to some of our nation’s most promising technology and innovation. The CCP’s desire to beat Americans’ grip on the global economy, and its access to the U.S. institutions developing useful tools, resulted in the theft of dozens of trade, military, engineering, and intelligence secrets.
The Department of Justice estimates that “80 percent of all economic espionage prosecutions” it brings “would benefit the Chinese state.”
Sports
It’s no secret China pays the National Basketball Association in return for American basketball coaches and players’ silence on the communist government’s human rights violations.
In recent years, China successfully convinced NBA officials to shut up employees and hamper players’ freedom to speak out on issues including the Hong Kong protests and Uyghur genocide.
China’s grip on the association is so tight that even the NBA coaches who host basketball camps in the communist country admitted the CCP’s influence meant they were essentially “working for the Chinese government.” Electric Vehicles
China is responsible for “70 to 80 percent of the world’s battery chemicals, battery anodes and battery cells” which means it essentially controls the electric vehicle supply chain. As the Biden administration and its Democrat allies push toward requiring Americans to use electric cars over gas-powered ones, China’s grip on the global battery market will only tighten.
Similarly, the communist country’s monopoly on rare earth minerals and metals means the CCP controls not just the materials required for “green technology” but also “modern-day weapons systems.”
Wall Street
For years now, the CCP has used willing Wall Street firms to leverage its financial influence within the U.S. and around the world. This collusion not only sustains the human rights violator but also compromises “tens of millions of unwitting American investors in the process.” U.S. firms build woke capital on the back of the CCP which, in turn, gets billions of American dollars. Other Big Tech Companies
China has “courted and seduced many powerful people in America’s tech industry to willingly, and sometimes enthusiastically” advance the communist country’s goal of technological supremacy.
Facebook, Google, Apple, and Elon Musk’s Tesla all cater to the CCP’s wishes.
Hollywood
Despite its extensively reported penchant for wokeness, Hollywood is all too willing to censor its productions to stay in the good graces of communist China to preserve overseas profits. The CCP’s ability to control what hits screens is just another way China exports its authoritarian ideology to the world.
Media
China not only runs propaganda but also employs the help of American corporate media outlets such as The New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, and Bloomberg, which have built cozy relationships with Chinese officials.
The compromising nature of these ties became especially prominent beginning in 2020 when the propaganda press helped the CCP spread lies about the origins of Covid-19.
Pretty much every major U.S. institution is ripe for reforms that would root out foreign influences like China. If the U.S. government is serious about combatting China’s sway, a ban on TikTok should signal the beginning, not the end, of a war on China’s infiltration of American systems.
Banning TikTok should signal the beginning, not the end, of a war on China’s infiltration of U.S. institutions.
BAN TikTok Now!

2023.03.30 15:27 Afoolfortheeons A weep a wop a weep a wop a weep a wop a weep a wop IN THE JUNGLE, THE MIGHTY JUNGLE, THIS SONG GETS STUCK IN YOUR HEAD

2023.03.30 15:27 lolfuckoff69 How should i leave & what do you think of the job?

Im relied on for everything for like 2 companies and need to make my exit strategy.. as im losing mental capacity when i think about the jobs tasks even at home i worry because of the neverending todo list like im a robot.. its.like i only have two.choices rn and either its leave ASAP, notice be a week i hope? 2nd choice isn't gunna be good for me as i wont be able to live again.... 😵🫨
its been 5 months idk how i say i want to leave due to the HIGH reliance on me for the spreadsheet crap, updating online stock, dealing with orders,returns/refunds/packing orders if needed, customers emails and calls & much more. my mental health is being killed, as no one else does this so one day im off or longer.. i have double the work each time... 😞
The person that left also had interviewed me, had a week of 'training" w her where she showed only surface of the sht i have to do my mind was trashed & i wanted to leave after that but omg experience and money.. took a few mnths to get a job after the other one which was also not good before and i have a guide of over hundred pages too lol
I really can't cope no longer i also want to move away from dad as he is too toxic and I've had enough.. ofc it looks bad leaving often in jobs tryna make 6 months depends on what the staff keep saying i havent done cus I don't want to as it's damn terrible.. I can't. Also remember when i come in 5 mins before 9am this lady who works for the other company where i dont have to do "as much" for as i gotta deal with the online orders n shit as priority! Says "You should be here in ur office at 9! if we need to talk to you, well duty calls and i had to crap? May take longer than others i have IBS and told her didnt seem like she cared and went away lol.
Another lady said omg u been there 15minutes wow. I didn't say anything but felt like saying don't wanna know mate!" Why they care when and how long im in toilet. omg :( man just a min wage job where they're making me do basically mutlipe jobs in one.
Say im trying to do boring stuff like adding products, or resizing loads of product images and adding the logo etc etc.. i can get a phone call where i have to deal with a customer or something so i literally can't truly focus or do anything properly or the other company needs me for something 😂 literally i want to focus on the call and customers inquiry or problem..
Nvm the emails where there's spam all the time and im deleting emails left right and centre. Whilst being alert for important mails.
And there's no meetings or nothing, im the sole worker here, boss does his own job in another company, there's 3 companies in total. No wonder only like 20 or so ppl applied for this I don't think many would stay on as long as i have seriously. Im In the uk and also just want to restart and move away from family as its very toxic and no communication or real relationship esp since mom died few yrs ago.

In Vermont, trucks keep getting stuck in Smugglers’ Notch. Locals are at their wit’s end.

VERMONT STATE POLICE
From Globe.com:
After decades in the towing business, George McRae was expecting a tough assignment when police called him — yet again — to dislodge a tractor-trailer from Smugglers’ Notch in Vermont.
But he wasn’t prepared for this.
A driver taking a shortcut to the Ben and Jerry’s factory had hit a sharp rock on the edge of the winding, narrow road, destroying the tire. In his “infinite wisdom,” the driver disconnected the tractor and drove to the bottom of the mountain, where he called police, McRae recalled.
It was a sunny day in June, so the 3.5-mile ribbon of Route 108 was crowded with tourists exploring the picturesque Green Mountains. McRae was able to get the trailer out, but the process took hours, with the road blocked the whole time.
“The guy got spanked by the police pretty good,” McRae, 67, recalled. “The company was happy with me that I kept the reefer running and kept the load cold. But they weren’t happy with him.”
In Boston, the perennial problem of truck drivers hitting an overpass — or realizing they are about to and trying to back up into traffic — is known as “Storrowing,” after Storrow Drive, which has height signs at all access points. On Smugglers’ Notch, the boulder-lined pass between Stowe and Cambridge, a similar situation is called a “stuckage,” and it causes at least as much trouble — if not more.
Like the mishaps on Storrow Drive, the problem has also defied efforts to stop it, confounding residents and state and local officials. For some weary truckers, the lure of a shortcut is too difficult to resist, even on the most forbidding of roads — instead electing to ignore the many posted warning signs and follow their GPS, with popular mobile apps failing to alerts drivers the pass is unnavigable for their vehicles.
“It takes a special kind of a driver. A Vermont boy isn’t going to go up through there,” McRae quipped. By his count, he has gotten more than a dozen trucks unstuck from the road over the years, and now charges between $3,500 and $5,000 for his service, on top of the fines the ill-fated drivers must pay the state.
“It’s a disaster. You have to plan,” said Jill Anne, 49, who has lived in Stowe since 1997. A real estate broker for Four Seasons Sotheby’s with a tight schedule, she factors in the possibility of a truck getting stuck whenever she has a showing. That usually means taking the extra 45 minutes to drive around.
“It’s not worth the gamble,” she said. “It’s kind of a joke, but it’s also super inconvenient.”
From 2011 through 2022, an average of 8.2 trucks have gotten stuck in the Notch each year, according to the Vermont Agency of Transportation. But after a dozen incidents in 2013, 2014, and 2017, the number dropped to five in each of the past two years, thanks to mitigation efforts such as increasing the amount of warning signs and establishing consistent law enforcement patrols, said Todd Sears, deputy bureau chief of operations and safety at the agency.
But Sears has a clear target in mind: zero.
“It’s a very Vermont thing. It’s not a safety issue, but it is an aggravation issue because you get a truck stuck up there, and it just shuts down traffic on both sides,” he said. “It’s a mystery, like what is not getting through? Why are people still trying to make it through there? We don’t know but we are making progress.”

2023.03.30 15:27 jcboogs Is it okay to ride 1 day before changing oil.

I have a 2020 ninja 400 with around 4500 mi. I got it new in 2020 and had my first service at 600 mi, but haven’t done anything else since. My next service is at 7600 mi but from what I’ve read most people get oil changed around once a year. I’m scheduled to get oil change this Saturday but the weather looks really nice on Friday. Would it be okay to ride to work once before I get the oil changed (~80 mi), since It’s been 2 years since i had the first service done or should I just wait until next week to start riding to work.
