We've finally made it... at last, we're on the Last Story. All 3 hedgehogs have had their stories lead up to this. How will it all end? Well, we're about to find out! Let us begin:
Somewhere in Soleanna's forest, Mephiles manages to get his hands on the purple Chaos Emerald, one which we haven't seen throughout this game. He finds Elise and Sonic walking through the field, and using the blinding power of the gem, comes up from behind the two when they least expect it, and (yes, I'm using language here, NO SHAME)... FUCKING KILLS SONIC by launching a beam of energy straight through his chest. Distraught by this, Elise manages to cry, unsealing Iblis after all these years. With the two halves of Solaris now freed, Mephiles calls on the Chaos Emerald he has to unite them together.
Meanwhile, in Dusty Desert, Team Dark is surrounded by a puddle of dark liquid from the army of Mephiles clones they took down at the end of Shadow's story. As he picks up and puts his Inhibitor Rings back on, the green and yellow Chaos Emeralds that were resting on the ground begin to glow, and the screen cuts to black. The next cutscene dramatically plays out, with Mephiles having all 7 Chaos Emeralds surrounding him (which I have NO clue where he got the blue and red ones from), and the two halves of Solaris finally coming together. A bright flash of light engulfs the entirety of Soleanna, where Amy, Tails, and Knuckles currently are.
Now in an endless void, all of the characters are found to be together, even Silver and Dr. Eggman have somehow appeared. Trying to figure out what was going on, Shadow and the others piece together the clues that Solaris has finally been reborn, but how is that possible? They then turn to see the dead body of Sonic resting against Princess Elise, realizing that this was all part of Mephiles' plan so she'd cry, and that EVERYONE, including Dr. Eggman, were played like cards in his hand.
As Amy mourns over the loss of the beloved blue hero, the princess senses Sonic's spirit in the wind, knowing that he's not dead yet, and that there's still time. Silver then comes up with the idea that he can be revived using the Chaos Emeralds' power, believing in the princess that she can bring him back. Dr. Eggman then analyzes where the fabled gems have gone, noting that Solaris scattered them all across time, and that the crew has to split up. Firm on their resolution, the group splits up, each setting out across the void to find them before it's too late.
And now it's time for... the End of the World. This final stage brings all 7 remaining characters - Tails, Omega, Knuckles, Silver, Rouge, Amy, and Shadow - on their quest to find the Chaos Emeralds before reality is destroyed by Solaris. This massive adventure split up into 7 sections, the first being with Tails in Crisis City as he searches for the yellow Emerald. His section plays out similar to Silver's level, with one major difference that can be considered the "gimmick" of this level.
Across all 7 portions of the stage, you'll come across these holes - called the "Eyes of Solaris" - that try to suck you in or toss objects at you. I really do like this idea as I think it's like Solaris' way of stopping you as you make your way towards each of the Chaos Emeralds, and one hit INSTANTLY kills you, even if you have Rings. You can briefly make them go away by touching a statue that lights up an orb, but it isn't long before they come back again. What I DON'T like, though? Well, that's coming up in a bit.
After Tails gets the yellow Emerald, the perspective switches to Omega, who's located in Flame Core as he's searching for the green Emerald. Again, it's mostly the same as before, and I believe you're in... I wanna say it's probably Shadow's part of the stage, but really, I have no idea since I feel like all the characters can share the same damn level at times like with White Acropolis, so I don't know which part you're exactly playing through. Anyways, Omega's hover ability will really come in handy here, as you can use it to skip most enemies (which is DEFINITELY recommended since time is literally of the essence here to save Sonic). Make your way up the lava-fall and grab the green Chaos Emerald and get the heck outta there!
The 3rd part of the stage takes place in Rouge's and Silver's Tropical Jungle level, only this time you're controlling Knuckles. Once again, you'll want to take the same approach as you did in Tails' and Omega's sections and not worry about combat and instead trying to find the cyan Emerald that's hidden somewhere here. Use the gliding ability that Knuckles has to land on certain platforms and you can skip basically the entire section. You may have to do some climbing on walls to glide to where the Emerald is, but other than that, his section should be a breeze. Grab that gem and GO!
I should also mention that the Eyes you come across can also suck in enemies and nearby objects, which can be incredibly helpful and harmful at the same time when you're trying to make it through the stage as quickly as possible. I do like how not even Iblis' monsters themselves are not safe from the wrath of Solaris, so it's like EVERYTHING is trying to stop you from making it to the end. But they won't stop the hope to revive Sonic!
Keeping on with the stage, the 4th section has Silver navigating through Sonic's portion of Dusty Desert, using his psychokinesis and hover abilities to make his way through the treacherous landscape and find the silver Chaos Emerald. And... well, I'm just gonna say this: I didn't like this section at all. Not one bit. Why is that, you may ask? Well, it's surprisingly simple, and it's a reason that'll come up again with another character not that far down the line:
SILVER IS SO FUCKING SLOW
I swear to God, he moves at the speed of freakin' molasses, and that's not exactly helpful when you're trying to dodge those Eyes that try to suck you in and KILL YOU IN ONE HIT. It's even worse when objects come flying out of nowhere, hit and knock you back and into the things you can't even see and give you no chance of escape! There are quite a few points where I was literally saying to my TV, "COME ON, MOVE IT, SILVER!!!" because he's just moving along at a strolling pace when he should be, I don't know... running to get the gem? Ugh.
Thank God he has the Teleport Dash upgrade you can buy for him in his story, as it'll be quite helpful when trying to escape the pull of Solaris. I believe this is the only time in the game I actually found that ability to be useful for him, because I barely remember using it AT ALL in his main story other than trying it out at various places in Soleanna's hub areas. But, anyways, you get through his section like all the ones before him and the ones after him: make it to the end and avoid any enemies that come in your way, using the orb thingies to temporarily cause the Eyes of DEATH to go away. Get the silver Emerald and meet up with the others!
The 5th section sends you to Tails' portion of Wave Ocean as you glide across the waterways with Rouge in search of the purple Emerald. You can use the same strategy here that you did with Knuckles since you don't need to worry about combat and should climb the pillars, jump off, and glide on through, only really landing to activate the orbs. Compared to Silver's section, this part is actually quite a breeze, so make your way to the gem like the good treasure hunter Rouge is and now there's only 2 more left to get!
Things are getting rather chilly, as now we're in White Acropolis for the 6th portion of the stage with Amy making her way towards the blue Emerald. She's finding herself on the lower route of Rouge's and Tails' segment, and she has to use her hammer and double jumping prowess to get by. 6th verse is somehow same as the 1st, so try to get by all the enemies doing as little combat as necessary and focus on using the orbs and making your way towards the Emerald. However, there's one major problem I have with this section that also happens with Silver, and it's that just like her partner, Amy is SO UNBELIVABLY SLOW. I don't know why this is, but this really bothers me especially when I'm trying to get away from the Death Eyes which still instantly kill you. The good news is that this section is relatively short-lived, so the pain doesn't last for very long. Get that blue diamond and now it's all up to the Ultimate Lifeform!
The 7th and final section of the stage revolves around Shadow as he makes his way through the ruins of Kingdom Valley to find the red Chaos Emerald, the last of them to be found. Much like Flame Core's segment, I have no idea which character's part of the stage you're going through, because I'm mainly trying to make it to the end of the stage. Just like before, make it to the end of the stage doing as little combat as possible and use the orbs to take out the Eyes of Solaris, ride the eagle, and complete the stage as you grab the final Chaos Emerald! And... that's a wrap on the End of the World!
Wow... what a stage. I will say this about it: Even though there were a few problems I had with this stage, which included the slowness of Silver and Amy, sometimes the wonkiness of the camera causing you to get hit by things you can't even see, and getting a Game Over on ANY section - yes, even the last Shadow section, which DID happen to me - causes you to do the ENTIRE thing again starting back at Tails' Crisis City segment. But those issues didn't stop me from enjoying the stage as a whole, as I did enjoy the gimmick of traversing through nearly every stage of the game (except for Aquatic Base and Radical Train) only with Solaris hot on your trail. This is one of those levels that would indeed work had this game been given more time in the oven, because this was quite the fun trek!
With the cast reunited and all 7 Chaos Emeralds gathered, Princess Elise says a prayer, wanting to talk to Sonic and save the world once again. She then kisses Sonic (why?...), and that, with the power of the gems, revives the blue hero and transforms him into Super Sonic. He thanks Elise as he falls to her knees, and then Shadow and Silver join in and transform themselves. With the 3 super-powered hedgehogs transformed, they blast off into the sky, everybody cheering them on from below.
And here it comes... the final battle. The battle is split into 2 phases and every character is used in their own way. You start with Super Silver and use the meteors that Solaris throws at you and damage his left arm. It may not do much damage, but keep it up and it will eventually shatter. From there, switch to Super Shadow and use the Chaos abilities he has and damage the right arm in the same way. Just remember to keep moving! Once that's done, switch to Super Sonic and keep boosting into the core and Phase 1 is complete!
However... it's not over yet. The god comes back up and goes absolutely out of control as an orchestrated version of "His World" plays in the background. You need to constantly switch between all 3 hedgehogs and deal damage to his core, but it's best if you attack it while it's firing a laser at you since it exposes the weak point. Silver may unfortunately not be of much use here, so you'll want to rely on Sonic and Shadow. However, keep it up and he goes down, ENDING SOLARIS ONCE AND FOR ALL!
As the 3 hedgehogs land back in front of the other heroes, time and space is restored and we eventually see the Duke and young Elise come across the true form of Solaris. He explains that once it grows, they can eventually get control of time and that Elise can eventually see her mother again. As they walk away, the current form of the Princess and Sonic walk up to the flame and take it into their hands. She says that if they were to blow it out, the Flames of Disaster incident would have never happened and that everything would continue on, but that she would have never met Sonic. She tears up slightly saying that the truth is that she doesn't care what happens to the world, but Sonic tells her to just smile and that it'll all be okay.
With that, she does so and blows out the flame, sending everything back to the Soleanna Festival that was seen at the start of the game. Sonic can be seen running by at one point, wanting to get a view. As he speeds by, he creates a wind which Elise calls somehow familiar to her. One of the feathers from her hair floats up into the air and passes in front of the moon, which Sonic is viewing from a rooftop, and the screen fades to black, ending Sonic '06.
And that's the game. Hard to believe it all ends with it acting like it never existed in the first place, but it all ends where it all began. I don't have anything else to say other than this game surprised me more than I initially thought it would. I came into this game expecting it to be bad and what I came across was something that had tons of potential that never got to be fleshed out.
So... what do I think about this game as a whole? Honestly... I simply don't know. It might take me a bit to decide what I truly think about it all, since this game did quite a few things good and a few things bad. But all I can say is, I'm glad I can finally put this game behind me and I don't have to play this game again... unless I decide to play Project '06 in the future, that is, and I probably will... once I find a way to.
Now, I think it's time I play a LOT of Sonic Generations. I'll see you all next time with another take on a new Sonic game!!

I've done my new route for a few weeks now and one of the parts has the mailboxes all on the curbside and its about 1.5hrs long. I guess you can park and loop if you want to, but I prefer to just dismount it because I'm getting tired of walking and want to minimize it as much as possible.
In the new red book adjustments, can I change that from P/L to D/M? Are there certain criterias for this kind of situation?

i havnt tripped in a very long time and only once before. wasnt even sure what type of shrooms i ate. maybe 1g-1.2g worth. dont have a micro scale to measure so i usually take my food scale and put something on it and add shrooms till it reads another gram or so.
but i did it alone at my parents place at like 2am and it wasnt so great. couldn’t sleep and all.
should i try and obtain golden teachers? i heard theyre the best beginner shroom. and how much should i take? i plan on buying 7g. and doing them with my friend in nature. maybe eat 1g or go for 1.5? i want to see some visuals but nothing too crazy. just here snd there would be kind of nice.

Early Feb 2022 - I am a healthy man who works out daily, 180 pounds, 6,2, slim - no issues
March 2022 - July 2022
Symptoms I never experienced before:
Gradual weight gain with no changes in my diet or workout
Fatigue
Hands and feet tingling or becoming bright red and swollen for short periods of time (remands syndrome symptoms)
While doing workouts like a Farmer's Walk (where you hold heavy weights in each hand), I do them consistently for years with no problem. Now I notice I can't grip them without my hands feeling like they are on fire.
Insomnia, I can't sleep, and when I do, I can't wake up
In July, a buddy of mine who is ten years older and has a body fat percentage of less than 10%, and is a health nut got me on his workout regime, diet ...etc
From July - Jan 2023, I followed his plan, ate the right foods, took the right supplements, and did everything to FEEL BETTER (I know it takes longer than six months to lose weight, but the point of all this was not to lose weight but to overcome the symptoms listed above, to feel better, to feel like a man again and not a shadow of his former self)
While having a workout buddy was great, and I did begin to get a nice routine going nothing changed. In the past, whenever I was feeling low, I would hit the gym, and after a few weeks, I got a snowball effect going as I workout; I felt better, which led me to workout harder, and eventually, I got to a place where I look and feel at my best.
This time, It was different. It was an uphill battle, and my body wouldn't get momentum built up. I had to fight hard every day to get to the gym.
In Jan, I had enough and turned to doctors - I had my first physical, an EDG, colonoscopy, and CT scan. Besides my T taking a significant drop since I last took a test a couple of years ago, I am a healthy man with higher than normal blood pressure and cholesterol (no idea how, as my diet consists of protein shakes, lean chicken, cauliflower rice, and vegetables)
I can't tell you how irritating it is when doctors tell you there is nothing wrong with you, but you know there is because, in 1 year, you gained 20 lbs with no changes in diet. Your hands and feet tingle all the time; you can't concentrate, you can't get out of bed (yes, I've been on anti-depressants for six months, no changes), you can't sleep, you feel hungry and dizzy but have no appetite. I can go on, but I'll stop here.
I am hoping someone can offer some guidance, someone who has felt similar symptoms or tell me to go see a certain type of doctor or get a certain type of test.
I have tried posting on Reddit in other similar subs, and again I want to make it clear don't focus on the weight loss; it's not the issue, just a symptom I highlight because it's not my core issue. For some reason, everyone focuses on that part and ignores all the other issues.
I would like to return to my normal weight, but my main concern is something new that is happening where at night, my hands and feet feel like they are itching, but when I itch, the feeling doesn't go away because it is itching from the inside.
The only thing I can think of is that diabetes runs in my family, type 2, and after hours of doing my own research, insulin resistance best explains my symptoms.
I just want a better direction of what type of doctor to see before wasting anymore $$$ on guess tests which is costing my student budget too much.

Description:
Hogue Deka in Magnacut. I had two versions, 1) SMKW with a clip point and 2) Wharncliffe with polymer scales. I swapped blades and sold off the polymer version a while ago. Now this is on the chopping block to fund other purchases. A couple of small marks on the clip, but no other issues to report. Centering is dead on. No marks on the black finished blade and scales are in great shape. Includes taco and box which is a little banged up and it will say clip point on it, if that matters.

Last year, my wife (27) worked for Travel Healthcare Company A for 6 months, and Travel Healthcare Company B for 6 months. With THCA, an HSA was opened and the balance reached $750, just below the $1,000 threshold to invest. It's getting hit with $3/month of fees, and is down to $720.
THCB had an exclusive contract, so my wife switched companies for a sweet job. Shortly into the contract with THCB, we decided THCA was a better long-term fit for my wife, and we would be going back to them after the contract was over. To keep things simple, we didn't open any retirement accounts with THCB.
We re-enrolled in an HSA with THCA contributing $70/week, and yesterday, we should have crossed the $1,000 threshold to be able to invest. Instead, she has the old HSA with $720 and a new HSA with Optum that has about $350.
I did some research, and it seems like the best option now is to roll the $720 into a Fidelity HSA. Their account has no fees or investment minimums, and I can pick their equivalent of VTI for basically no expense ratio. The other part of the plan is to leave a few hundred in the Optum account and transfer the rest of the contributions once a month to Fidelity.
I have no experience doing a HSA rollover, so I just want to make sure my line of thinking has no tax implications.

Grand Theft Auto V is one of the most profitable entertainment franchises in the history of games. It came along as a return to form after what many fans would argue was a misstep with the more gritty and realistic GTA 4. Originally released back in 2013 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3—yes, it spans three console generations—developer Rockstar has supported the game's online mode with continual updates adding new content, new areas, and even all-new mechanics.
GTA V was such a runaway success—and GTA The Trilogy: Definitive Edition was such a dumpster fire—that Rockstar gave up working on a Red Dead Redemption 2 DLC, and has now reportedly abandoned plans to remaster more of its beloved older titles to instead focus on both further GTA Online content as well as the development of GTA 6.

Naturally, expectations for GTA 6 are incredibly high, and given the advanced age of GTA V, fans are chomping at the bit for any bit of news. That's why there's so much buzz around a report at Bloomberg that focuses on Rockstar's new corporate culture. Company co-founder Dan Houser left Rockstar in 2020, and ever since then the development house has been trying to reshape a corporate culture that the report refers to as being "like a frat house".
Given the nature and tone of the humor in the Grand Theft Auto series, it's really not surprising to hear that the atmosphere inside Rockstar was juvenile and chauvinistic. The report remarks that the workplace culture at Rockstar was "full of drinking, brawling, and excursions to strip clubs." That may sound like a good time to some, but it's admittedly not very professional.

As part of the report, author Jason Schreier casually reveals that GTA 6 will have at least two playable protagonists, and that one of them will be a Latina woman. This technically isn't the first playable woman nor even the first playable Hispanic woman in the GTA series; the very first GTA game featured a Latina named "Katie" as one of its eight playable characters.
Still, very few of the series' modern fans even remember the old DOS-based Grand Theft Auto, so we can forgive everyone for forgetting about poor Katie. Regardless, the new girl will apparently be part of a Bonnie-and-Clyde-like crime duo, calling to mind the partnership between Claude and Catalina in the beginning of Grand Theft Auto III. Hopefully the partnership between the new player characters in GTA 6 doesn't end the same way that one did.

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my journey and reflections on my recently completed upgrade for a 2013 Mac Pro. I was hesitant committing to the upgrade path, knowing full well it’s rather limited and difficult, especially coming from a 5,1.
Never-the-less, the ‘trashcan’ always held a special place in my heart since it’s release, and I always dreamed of having one occupying a spot on my desk.
So, in August last year I picked one up from an eBay auction for $700 AUD. The model was the 6 Core 32GB RAM and D500 GPU. It also came with two Thunderbolt 2 cables. I decided that I would take my time over 6-12 months researching upgrading.
My first decision was to knock out the ‘easy’ upgrades. This consisted of:
Additional 32GB RAM for $45 AUD 1TB NVME storage and adapter for $112 AUD
The stock 256GB Storage is criminally small, and although Apple’s intent was for modular external storage, that just didn’t happen to the extent that in 2023 it’s a viable storage option for everyday use. Worse still was their decision to make the internal drive proprietary, but luckily adapters exist to swap in standard drives. This drastically reduced the price.
However, the removed drive is pretty much useless, as to my knowledge there isn’t a cost effective bi-directional adapter to enable the drive to be repurposed in an enclosure or other machine (apart from a similar year MacBook). So, I now have a useless 256GB drive.
“Can’t innovate my ass.”
Next up was the CPU. There was plenty of debate over the ‘best’ CPU, with contenders being a mix of 8, 10 and 12 core. I decided to go with the e5-2697 12 core from a good deal on eBay, picking it up for $50 AUD.
Installation was - well - no harder or easier from what I anticipated. Plenty of reading and researching forecasted that it is a long, slow, and fiddly process, all of which proved true. However, patience and pair of careful hands made the job relatively textbook. (That final CPU bracket though!) All up, the tear down, installation and reassembly took about 1.5 hours.
On reassembly, I was successfully rocking a 12 Core, 64BG, 1TB trash can. No boot up issues or any temperature discrepancies. It is worth pointing out that the single core scores are slightly lower, which makes sense. However, the multicore score is drastically improved (almost double).
My last hurdle with the GPU. Knowing full well I was stuck with another proprietary limitation, I turned to eGPUs. Although never officially supported on the Mac Pro 2013, there was plenty of evidence that using a T2>T3 adapter ($65 AUD) would enable a Thunderbolt 3 eGPU enclosure to connect.
So my hunt began, and I managed to score an OWC Mercury Helios FX 650 with a AMD XFX RX580 8GB for $300 AUD.
After applying Kryptonite, the EGPU ran perfectly. This also means my core temperatures are considerably lower with the eGPU absorbing some of the grunt.
So far I haven’t had a lot of opportunity to do real world testing, but I haven’t encountered any crashes or oddities either.
All up, the cost ran me $1,272 AUD. For the power and compatibility, I believe it’s a good price, especially as I was able to spread the cost over 6 months. Additionally, the NVMe and eGPU can easily be repurposed, so that cost can float across multiple devices.
Would I recommend this to anyone in 2023-2024? Depends. If you already have a Mac Pro and are comfortable tinkering with it, go for it. For my workflow, the IO and software still works for me, although is on the fringe of redundancy.
Should you go down this path fresh? If you can find the machine and parts for the right price, of course! It will require patience and a savvy shopper attitude, but it’s not impossible. Buying a Mac Pro with some or all of these upgrades will be pricey, so starting with a base machine and slowly building it up generally proves more cost effective. The CPU though - I stress - is a tedious and finicky process.
However, with the performance and cost of the new M2 machines, even the standard Mac Mini out performs the 2013 Mac Pro. After all, it is a 10 year old machine now.
At the end of the day, the trashcan still is a strange and compelling machine, that has found its haters and cult followers. Even without the upgrades I really enjoy having it as my daily driver, but it’s now just that much better until it’s eventually retired.
I ended up filming the tear down process so for anyone interested I may upload it along with some benchmarking. Otherwise, thanks for reading and feel few to ask any questions :).

Some Background: My mother abandoned me when I was 3 years old after my father had an affair with her best friend. My father married her best friend and moved away leaving me and my mother behind. He took his cat though. my mother didn't really want to be a mother, and she sent me to go live with my father. My father and stepmother were horribly physically, emotionally, and psychologically abusive.
During my childhood, my mother almost never contacted me in any way. I saw her five times from Age 3 until 18. Once, I stayed with her for 6 months when I was 11. she told me she was going to file for custody of me because from the stories I had told her about my life, she knew that I was being abused by my father and stepmother.
That was a lie however. She sent me back to live with my father and stepmother who continued to abuse me until my 18th birthday.
When I turned 18, my mother wanted to have a really close friendly relationship with me. I was really angry about her abandoning me twice. I didn't trust her and I didn't really feel that we had the foundation for a relationship, but I desperately wanted her love and approval.
Even though she hadn't raised me and she sent me to live with people who she knew were actively abusing me, she wanted me to treat her like she was the best mother ever. she would constantly tell stories about when I was under 3 years old. It made me really uncomfortable. I would ask her to stop telling the stories but she wouldn't.
When I got engaged, I invited her to my wedding which was a Orthodox wedding. for those of you who don't know, there is a very strict dress code for women that involves necklines that cover the collarbones, shirts that have sleeves which cover the elbows and skirts that go below the knee. I asked my mother to follow this dress code and she agreed to, but she showed up at the wedding with a blouse that was a deep v-neck. she wasn't showing cleavage or anything, but it was horribly inappropriate. she was also wearing open toed shoes which I had asked her specifically not to wear. When I confronted her on this, she basically dismissed my boundary and said that because she wasn't showing cleavage and because her shoes were very cute sandals that it was fine for her not to respect the dress code.
when I was pregnant, I told her, and she announced my pregnancy publicly before I had the opportunity to do so. It really hurt me that she told my grandmother and other family members before I had the opportunity to. when I tried to talk to her about this gently, telling her how much it had hurt me and how I would appreciate her not sharing my news with people especially after I had specifically asked her not to, she got very angry with me and told me I had no right to tell her what she can talk with her family members about.
These are some of the big events, however there have been a million other boundary violations and disrespectful actions towards me. over the years I went from wanting to have frequent contact with her to very low contact. especially When I became a mother, I realized I would never understand her or the choices that she made regarding me.
I have been living abroad, in Mexico, for the last 11 years. I live in a good area and I have a great job here. I invited my mother to come to visit us several years ago, before the pandemic and she gave me a lot of excuses why she couldn't come. She said that the flight would be too expensive. She said that she didn't have a way to get from the airport to our home. When my husband and I offered to pick her up from the airport and even to pay for her flight, she finally told us that it's because we live in Mexico. She doesn't feel it's a very nice place and she has never had a desire to come to this country.
This hurt very much because she lives several hours from the border in a city in America that is way more violent than where I live. The statistics for violent crime show that there is a higher rate of crime in her city than mine. I tried to tell her that she would be safe and that I really wanted to visit her to visit us in our home because I'm very proud of the life that my husband and I have built for ourselves. I told her she could stay in our guest room and that we would take her to the park we go to and the children science museum we frequent and our favorite restaurants, etc. she insulted Mexico and refused.
it left such a bad taste in my mouth that I didn't speak to her for the greater part of a year.
Then, she emailed me out of the blue about 9 months later and it was a one-line email. she said, I like where you live.
I obviously thought that she could be in my city so I emailed her back asking her directly if she were. no answer. I called her cell phone. no answer. I texted her and received no answer.
about a week later, she emailed me again telling me that she was no longer in my city but had spent two weeks there and she really thought it was a very fine place. she never tried to call me or see me at all but she traveled internationally to the city that I live in and she contacted me just so that I would know that she had been there and had Made no effort to contact me at all. It really hurt my feelings.
I wrote to her telling her that it hurt my feelings and letting her know that I felt she owed me an apology and an explanation for doing that. She has done a lot of hurtful things to me over the years, but that was so over the top and ridiculous - - even for her - - so I felt that it was a fair request.
Instead, she told me that she had already apologized to me. she insisted that she had apologized and I was refusing to accept her apology. she had never apologized to me. I'm certain of it. However, this made me doubt myself and I installed an automatic call recorder in an attempt to Discover if I was remembering things incorrectly or if she does lie constantly and then try to rewrite the truth.
she never apologized for the Mexico fiasco. However, I felt guilty after not speaking to her for a while and I initiated contact and we had low contact for a while that seemed to be going well. what I mean is she wasn't outright rude or disrespectful or passive aggressive. I was calling her every week and she would answer most times and we would make small talk for a few minutes.
Then, on one of our weekly calls in October of last year (2022), she told me in October of last year (2022) that she would be moving to another part of the country, very far away from the international border. Since we had had a few months of decent text exchanges, I decided to call her. During that call, in November 2022, I invited her again to come to visit us before she moves because I don't know when I will ever see her again because of how far away she's moving and how bad our relationship has always been.
I was hoping that she would see this as an opportunity to bury the hatchet and reconnect. instead she told me no. She flat out refused. she answered so quickly it was obvious that she didn't even consider it at all. It was like a reflex refusal. I know people can't always travel when they want to, I'm not so unreasonable, but she has over a year before she moves so it would have felt better if she at least pretended to consider it.
We spoke a week later and she asked me if after she moved my family and I would be willing to travel to see her at her new house. I told her no. I reminded her that we had invited her to visit us twice and she refused both times. I went on to say that I am not willing to travel so far to visit someone who has refused to visit me.
She told me that she never refused to visit me. I told her that she had. I'm certain that she did refuse, because I recorded that phone call and I had listened to it several times. there is a clear refusal. She told me that I had not recorded it. That I was lying. I emailed her the audio from the call. I tried to call her the next week but she didn’t answer. Same thing the week after that. Same thing every week since I gave up trying to speak to her over the phone in early February 2023. The last time I called her, I left her a pretty curt voicemail. I told her that if she wanted to speak to me that she should answer the phone or return my calls. A few weeks later she sent me a message at just after 7am, as I was getting ready to go to an important work meeting. In her message, she complained to me about the voicemail. She told me that it is not appropriate to contact someone and not ask them how they are doing and give them a polite greeting. She told me that she did not like my voicemail and asked me not to leave her voicemails like that. I messaged her back and told her that I will not be leaving any more voicemails, as she has not answered or returned my calls in over 4 months and I have given up. I also told her that she was messaging me at 7am to complain about a voicemail I left weeks ago and to please not message me just to complain, until after 6pm, when I get off of work.
She messaged me back and said, ‘' No worries, won't be bothering anymore. Enough take care don't text or call you won't get a response. You have made yourself clean when it comes to me.' So I blocked her. On my phone. On social media. On everything I could think of. However, I didn’t think of blocking her on my old email address. A few weeks later I was looking for an old document in that old email account and I saw that she had emailed me. Here is the exchange:

Dear daughter, if someone isn't able to do something but could and wants to do that thing at another time it is not refusing that thing. So, if anyone has read this whole thing, what do you think? Should I stay no contact? Do you think this could be salvaged? I feel really guilty, like I should reach out to her again. What do you think I should do?

I'm trying to fabricate a steel handrail.
The handrail needs to be 127mm x 1800 x 5mm.
I have four of these to fabricate.
I can buy flat steel that is 150mm wide, so I would need to cut down the width.
I'm looking to find the best way to cut the steel to width.
I've come up with two options so far:

1. scribe the length of the steel and use an angle grinder to reduce the bar width by 23mm.
2. purchase a steel bandsaw to resaw the length of the steel.

I'm looking for other options and/or opinions on how likely I am to be successful (at getting a straight edge) with either 1 or 2.
I own an angle grinder and have found a bandsaw for around $500 which I'm prepared to spend.
I'm in Australia.

So, my family just lost someone very close, and the funeral is out of province. Only my dad could attend, so I’m staying home taking care of my brothers (twins, ages 6 and autistic) as well as my mother (bed ridden with cushings disease). I’m really trying my best, because I just need to get my dad to be able to attend the funeral and be there for the family, minimal stress. The problem is mainly with the twins. They won’t listen to any reason, they bite, kick scratch, pinch, punch, scream at me and pull my hair. It hurts a lot so instinctively I will shove them away or yell, which can cause them to fall backwards and scream. Them screaming triggers my mother who will scream at me for hurting her golden children. I just can’t take it. I’m constantly in tears, pain or busy tuning around so that I can’t do the cooking and cleaning. I just need to make it for one more weekend and my dad will come back. Does anyone know how I can subdue them, get them to stop hurting me and to get them to calm down? Sorry for the mini rant.

Miller, the dude that faced scrutiny due to his stupidity, 8-41 from the field and 3-18 from 3. Oh you were in the wrong place at the wrong time… to get your #sses eliminated by a f#cking Mountain West Conference team. Now go back to football and BBQ!!!

I'm self taught ~ 1 year and have been doing everything In JS/TS, react/next and realize how hard it is for me to find a job given I don't have a cs degree. I've seen a few instances of people saying that there are still a lot of ruby jobs and a lot of people pass it up because it's not the shiny new thing anymore, but I'm just trying to give myself the best chance of getting a job and don't really care what I'm working with. Would it make sense for me to commit to learning ruby and rails if this is my goal?
I realize at the end of the day being the best developer I can be regardless of language or framework is what will give me the best chance at a job, but if there is a significant inherent increase given demand vs supply of ruby developers I will take that opportunity.
