tl;dr - Linux compatible, won't drastically drop in performance, decade of use(Current MLC, 11 years, 11TB written), lots of VMs/containers, barely gaming. Suggestions?
Finally looking for a new SSD, last time I thought of getting one, everyone trash talked TLC as the worst thing in the universe and that your SSDs would die in 2 days of casual use. Obviously, things have changed a lot since then. I've seen SSD tier lists but I'm not sure exactly how that solves the issue of which to get.
Basically, what I'm looking for is something that will (hopefully) be better than my current drives. I have an OCZ Vector 120GB and an Intel 330 240GB they are over 11 years old now.
I'm a creature of simple needs:

• works well with Linux
• will stay fast
• (barring defects) lasts me around 10 years
• works well with containers/VMs (including OpenShift and VFIO (Windows guest))

By stay fast I mean the PCPartPicker article about how SSDs are dropping in performance by over 50%. Which makes me think get the fastest PCIe 4.0 drive and in a few months it'll be as fast as a PCIe 3.0 drive. But I don't fully understand all the technical details. I see a lot of people here recommending the SK Hynix Platinum P41 but it is one of the drives that loses a lot of performance, no matter what is attempted.
On the drives I currently have, I have 10 and 11 TB written to date, am I computing wrong or am I misunderstanding TBW? I've seen quotes like "..only has a lifespan rating of 80TBW.." and then wonder, 80 years? But I am thinking that MLC helps a lot and 30TBW MLC > 80TBW TLC? I've heard VMs/containers shouldn't really affect longevity but maybe I've heard wrong.
Thanks to Linus I am now wondering if getting into VMs/containers has greatly increased my need for a better, faster, more endurance focused drive. Linus(Referring to a PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD): It's possible that you're a power user with numerous virtual machines or Docker containers that you could have some use for this...
Not a power user, but do find myself using quite a few VMs/containers. Nine containers up at all times, a couple VMs usually up. And I will be doing a lot of work in the coming months with VMs and containers, so a lot of testing and configuring with those if that matters. I will also afterwards do some work with Code Ready Containers (OpenShift).
In ~6 months, I will probably be running Windows 10 in a VM for gaming, via VFIO. I don't game too much, usually, play for six hours once, then nothing for months, so that's why it isn't on my list of needs. My recreational needs are mostly watching videos, writing, surfing the web and working on the command-line. For the next several months the drives will be used without a monitor.
All drives I've looked at are 1TB except the NV2 (2TB) since it is so cheap.

I'm pretty new to using wine, and completely new to using wine tricks. Last I've used wine was about 15 years ago and it's come a long way since.
I'm trying to install dx11 win10 packages in my wrapper (bottle?) so I can run GuildWars 2. I've noticed that on my list of packages, the dxvk1103_macOS package is no longer displayed (none of the dx macOS show), yet they're still available on the GitHub so I was wondering if I could set up my wrapper with windows 10 and then manually add in the dxvk1103_macOS package after that?
Not finding much on google for doing so, and figured it may be because wine tricks is probably used to automate a lot of this kind of stuff and what I'm trying to do is manually make it.

I downloaded mods for minecraft but this time in fabric. Got some pretty useful mods that was interesting and all of the sudden it starts telling me that i crashed because of "fabric-renderer-indigo". I checked every mod, looked at every post on reddit and Github but none of them helped. I hope someone can.

Is it possible to determine if a Windows 10 box was connected to a Cisco VPN router on a particular given day? I don't know the model of the router (likely something along the lines of a RV345P), but I do have the likely IP address the router would have been assigned (and its name).
I have specific logins to a remote server that are thought to have originated from the box I have (.e01), but I haven't found any artifacts suggesting a connection to the server in question on the dates/times. Generally, it was believed by way of the Cisco VPN and then a RDP session, the subject would login to the server - but I don't see any artifacts of the VPN activity or RDP session for the days/times in question.
Any thoughts on how I can better drill down on this to rule out this box (or confirm this box accessed a remote server)?
So far, this is what I have done:

1. Timeline analysis (suspect Windows box) in/around the known login times (nothing relating to network activity/VPN/RDP/)
2. Identified RDP sessions (none found for the day/time and server in question)
3. Searched for the IP address thought to have been assigned to the Cisco VPN router (nothing)
4. Searched for the name believed to be associated with the Cisco router (nothing).

Any insight or suggestions that might help determine if this box connected to a known server (or rule out if such a connection took place) would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2012 GTI, about 200,000 miles. Long story short, it stopped running about two months ago, took it to the shop and they said they think my timing chain slipped, which caused other damage that is pretty expensive to fix.
I currently don't have the funds to repair it, and am planning on selling it, but I have no idea what a good price to list it for would be. Other than the engine damage, the car is in great condition (one small dent on the back passenger fender, minor scratches, basic 10 year old car stuff). It has just turned into too much of a project for me now, and I'm ready to get something different.

'sup, guys I've been having this issue for 2 days so far and counting. . .
everytime I start my pc on cold, I have no image and after the MOBO checks for everything the BOOT red light stays on, 1st day: I did this, unplugged the power supply for 10-20 secs and drained the mobo with the start button (worked), 2nd day: tried day 1 fix. didnt worked out, had to push restart button 5 times in order to start the pc.

Right now I’m 10 DPO. When I tested this morning I thought I saw something. I tested again because I was worried it might be an indent, but the second test showed up too. Both lines (if that’s what they are) showed up in the time window, though it took a minute for me to get a semi clear picture so the photos are a minute or two later. Also, these are not early detection tests. I ran out so I can’t confirm with that til I get a chance to go to the store, which may be a couple days.
As of right now I don’t really feel pregnant, if that makes sense? Just the usual pms symptoms so I’m having trouble believing it. Basically, I would really love if all of you could either confirm I’m not crazy or shake me out of my line eyes. Thanks!
