(34F) I lost my brother unexpectedly 6 months ago and my beloved dog to bladder cancer 2 weeks ago (and my mother from breast cancer 16 yrs ago, childhood dog 12 yrs ago). I thought that I had a lot of practice with loss and grief, but it does not get any easier. Each loss is unique, a stab wound at a new angle.
It sometimes helps me to step outside my grief and categorize my pain, so here's the breakdown of the different facets of my grief over the loss of my black lab/boxer mix Cooper:

1. I miss Cooper's presence. I miss his face poking into the bathroom. I miss the soft thuds of his tail wagging against the floor when he sees me in the morning. I miss him kissing my face. I miss the light in his eyes when we're hiking or doing something fun.
   
2. Selfishly, I miss his unconditional love and dutifulness to me. I miss him following me around and simply wanting to be where I am. I miss him welcoming me home and being happy to see me.
   
3. I feel guilt for not doing more to save him. In hindsight, if I had only done XYZ sooner...
   
4. I feel sadness when I see reminders of my life before he passed away, because it brings me back to a time when things were somewhat normal and okay, and I want to shake my shoulders and warn myself of what's about to happen. I was concerned about this or that, when really I should've been more in the moment with Cooper and maximizing every second.
   
5. I wonder if and when I will see him again.
   
6. I worry that one day I will be okay, but I don't want to move on without him. I don't want to overwrite the last time I did things with him, with new memories without him.
   
7. I feel empty and lost because so much of my day to day life was spent thinking about him and taking care of his end-of-life needs. I feel like a protector without a ward.

And here's a list of some comforting thoughts:

1. Cooper would want me to be happy and make the most of my days. He’d want me to hike and explore. It would make him sad and so worried to see me like this.
   
2. He is no longer in pain. His world was becoming smaller due to his body aging, but now he is FREE!
   
3. He never had to feel the pain of losing me.
   
4. I bought him as much time as I could (and not just any time, but high quality adventure days with hiking and camping and good food). I didn’t let him suffer long.
   
5. He died peacefully in his bed surrounded by his loved ones. I played our cards right to spare him a frantic, hectic death in an ER.
   
6. I tried to make every day the best day from the moment we brought him home, not just when he was diagnosed. We went on roughly 3,000 hikes over the 8.5 years we had him (we adopted him at age 5 and he passed away at age 13.5).
   
7. There’s literally nothing more I could have done. I went $30K into debt for the best vets in the country, cutting edge treatments, medicines, supplements, food, handicap aids. I postponed taking classes and graduating so I could be home with him this past year. I researched medical journals day and night, and contacted doctors all around the world. And because of that, we paused the cancer and he managed to heal his spine and knee injury and we were still walking on trails the day before his death. He thrived 14 months post-diagnosis.
   
8. His life energy and our bond don’t just evaporate. He is in the best place possible and we will see each other again.
   

Anyway, it hurts, I'm in pain. I don't know what more to say.

Hi, hello. Welcome to my post. Make yourself comfortable while I give you an overview of what I’m all about.
Let’s start with my interests. My interests include movies, tv, music (mostly rap and my ‘nostalgia playlist’), bowling, mini golf, board/card/video games, football, hockey, baseball, and basketball (yes, I am big into Boston sports). I am also open to trying some new things too (for example those irl escape rooms).
When it comes to my personality, I am honest, humble, caring, kind, gentle, understanding, compassionate, chill/easygoing, and patient. I’m not funny myself, but I do know some good comedians/comedies.
My love languages are definitely words, gifts and touch (with gifts and touch being my top 2 to give). What can I say? I have a lot of love to give 😊
Now is when I describe myself. I’m white, 6’1-2”, with blue eyes, short to medium-ish long dirty blond hair and a bit overweight (wanting to work on being healthier). I am born AMAB (assigned male at birth just in case you didn’t know what AMAB meant), I don’t identify as my assigned gender, male, but as agender (basically I don’t feel I have a gender and understand other people do). I currently dress mainly masculine, but I do want to have a more androgynous wardrobe in the future. Lastly, I am omnisexual which means I’m attracted to all genders with a preference to feminine people.
I’ve also got a super amazing bf in Ontario who’s just a great guy! We’re looking to add a couple more people to our polycule and have all 4-5 of us under one roof in the future, but still allow people in the polycule to date outside the polycule.
I should also say I am anti-bigotry no matter who the target is whether it’s transphobia, homophobia, sinophobia or any other kind of racism. That is one of my dealbreakers. It goes without saying then that I’m a safe person for trans, gay, furries, gender-nonconforming, and poc.
Before I end this, besides the anti-bigotry point, I’m really just looking for people who share some, not a ton or all, of the same personality traits or interests. Preferably you are local to me. I posted a few days ago about reaching 120 payments.
In Oct. 2022, my payment count was 115. My payment tracker on Mohela’s website showed that I had 115 qualifying payments as of Oct. 2022. It showed that Nov.2022-Mar.2023 (5 payments) had not been verified as qualifying.
On 3/27/2022, I submitted an ECF asking for my payment count to be updated. The help tool would not let me check the box indicating that I believed I qualified for forgiveness because I had not been in repayment for 10 years (I entered repayment in 2013 but did not consolidate until 2015).
I checked today (4 days since submitting my ECF) and my payment count now shows 120/120. What do I do? Will my 3/27/2023 ECF be enough for me to achieve forgiveness? Or do I have to submit a second one?
I’m so excited right now but also scared. I don’t want to screw this up!

I have Undersun Fitness (molded). I also have the first 4 lightest bands from Rubberbanditz.
Honestly, I find Undersun Fitness tension profiles to be more favorable than Rubberbanditz (their first band starts off rather heavy). Also, Rubberbanditz are not really fun to workout with, not a fan of their tension profiles and just they way they stretch in general. Pardon my lack of terminology here, this is my first post on this sub.
(I should probably also specify these are all your standard 41" loop resistance bands, as I have not began the foray into different length resistance bands (i.e. monster-mini, 13" bands specified for deadlifts and such, which do seem really cool; am pretty ignorant when it comes to any other length other than 41")
Happy to be here, as I'm really going to start training more with bands / calisthenics in different environments to switch up the ol' mundane DB bench press and such exercises.
**Can anybody attest to the actual quality of Quantam and Clench? Are those honestly god-tier, S-tier 10/10, crème of the crop....... or is it just fake word-of-mouth marketing masqueraded as advertising bots (hopefully you get what I'm saying.....)? Because I'm about to order a full set of each to test them out. I would imagine they would be really rubbery/silicone-y, elastic with amazing tension profiles, smooth tension transitions, etc. etc. and just really a joy to use, also amazing durability and a warranty to match, of course.**
Now, I could be wrong. What am I missing? Was thinking about ordering some EliteFTS as well just for the sake of comparison. Also open to any other bands that you would consider to be the absolute best out there (without the hype, lol). Look forward to posting more here, also, thanks for being around. Appreciate you guys.
TL;DR: I currently have and use Undersun Fitness (molded, but significant upgrade from Amazon's SUNPOW loop bands, pretty sure you all know what I'm talking about, lol) loop bands. I also have Rubberbanditz and I'm not really a fan of them to be honest (although they are supposed to be purportedly better, being layered latex). Quantum, Clench (same layered latex, or higher quality??) I'm looking for the best; looking to start training more resistance bands and calisthenics and rotate the environments which I train in. Hi all,
I am having a hard time deciding which path to take here, so I thought I’d ask and see if anyone with more life experience than me can give some input.
I currently work in information security as an automation engineer. I make $100k. I don’t particularly have a passion for infosec, and I’ve reached burnout in my current position.
I applied around and currently have 2 offers on the table.
One is for SWE/DM at a prestigious university, working in cooperation with a government agency on satellites and other space missions. It’s a dream job. But it will require me to undergo a long federal background investigation, and the salary is only $75k. I’d be taking a big pay cut, and I’m concerned that with my debts I may end up struggling financially, or will not be able to save money for a house anytime soon.
The other is for information security analyst at a different company. It’s not a dream job, but they are offering $125k, full remote, and a start date next month. It would be like my current job, but far less responsibility (or so it seems).
I’m really struggling to decide what to do here. Do I take a 25% pay cut and wait a few months to potentially work in a field I’m interested in? Or do I take a 25% raise and gtfo of my current job? Do I leave the private sector, or stay?

I (23 F) am getting married in September, and I’m having a really hard time deciding whether or not my father (50 M) should be invited. Let me give some background. My parents divorced when I was 2, when my mom was pregnant with my younger sister. My father has never been a good parent. Growing up, we only saw our father once or twice a month. Out of all of the extra curricular activities I participated in throughout my childhood, he probably only came to a handful of events. Even less for my sister. He’s always had a terrible temper, and is very prone to mood swings. My siblings and I spent most of our childhood afraid of him. He was not physically abusive, but when he was in a bad mood, he would just be so angry and yell a lot. When he was happy and in a good mood, things were great and we’d have fun, but when he was in a bad mood, it was just miserable. He has let me and my siblings down more times than I can count. He’s always put himself before his children, and always made his new relationships top priority. All of which end, usually badly. There’s honestly not a lot of great things I can say about my father. He has done a lot of terrible, hateful things throughout his life. He worked as a police officer for a large portion of his life and served in the National Guard. He was deployed in 2013, and I know what affected him greatly. Things changed a lot after he came back. We saw him less and less and when I did see him or talk to him, I could tell he was going through a lot. I’ve tried to give him the benefit of the doubt because of this. I know he has had to witness some very difficult, awful things in his line of work, and I’m sure that has greatly affected him as a person. However, I don’t think that is an excuse to have such little presence in your children’s lives. I know my father loves me and I think he would do anything for me, but he hasn’t been a dad. That has affected my siblings and I a lot. My older brother and younger sister have no relationship with him whatsoever and have not spoken to him in a few years. The past few years, I’ll exchange a text with him on birthdays and holidays, but that is mostly it.
My mom remarried when I was 4, and I have had a wonderful step-dad, whom I consider to be my dad. We’re not extremely close, but he has always been there for me and has done his best to be a great dad to my sister and I. I plan to have both my mom and step-dad walk me down the aisle. I plan to have a father daughter dance with my step-dad. If I were to invite my father, I don’t how I would go about telling him that he is strictly there as a guest. If I choose not to invite…. Well that’s not a conversation I’m looking forward to having either.
Has anyone had to deal with a similar situation? I’m really struggling knowing what the right thing to do is. If he were invited, I know it would make myself and my siblings who have chose to cut him out of their life uncomfortable. If I don’t invite him, I think I will feel guilty and possibly regret it in the future.

I went to the doctors office today to get some referrals done and on my way out one of the people at the front desk called out my deadname, I said “I don’t know who that is” and looked around then walked out and had a mini breakdown just thinking about how my true name is on their record and if this cow took one more second reading it and not just blurting out garbage this all could have been avoided, it makes me angry how inconsiderate people are sometimes. I’ve dealt with a lot of psychiatrists at places that are supposed to be safe spaces do stuff like this but never a front desk person, they’re usually the considerate ones.
I know legally here in Australia it’s required that every medical place has your legal name on record but the fact they don’t put the preferred name first -.-
I put this post as celebratory because my doc wrote me a gender recognition letter so I’ll most likely be able to put M on my passport, also trash experiences have given me that extra push to rush changing my name so yay ig

Sweden could still become a NATO member by summer, NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg told POLITICO on Thursday as Finland moved ahead on its own to join the military alliance.
The two Nordic countries initially applied to join NATO together last year, but their fates diverged Thursday after Turkey ratified Finland's bid while leaving Sweden behind - the product of a lingering dispute over the country's support for Kurdish groups and limitations on arms exports.
"My aim remains that after the Turkish elections, but before the Vilnius summit, we can also have the ratification of Sweden," the secretary-general said from NATO headquarters in Brussels, referencing the alliance's annual gathering on July 11.
If both Finland and Sweden join the alliance, Stoltenberg noted, 96 percent of the European Union's population will soon live in a NATO country.
"There were hard negotiations, but Sweden has proven that they are stepping up their cooperation with Turkey, fighting terrorism, exchanging more intelligence, information - and there are no restrictions on arms exports" from Sweden to Turkey, he added.
"They're now sitting at the NATO table," he said, pointing out that the alliance has boosted its presence in the region and some allies have given Sweden security assurances.
