I felt like I could relate to Elmer Dobkins, from the episode, the election the most. I was not the popular kid at school at all, extremely shy, very quiet and reserved in my own world, kind of daydreaming and did have a soft spot for animals. Little girls and boys in my class was mean to me in different ways and I never fighted back because I was scared too. But I loved how Elmer stood up at the end and if I could go back in time, I do wish I stood up for myself.
I also wore clothes, dresses that my mum made, have patchwork quilts etc. Although I had much more toys then Laura as a child, I would admire family friends dolls, games, toy collection, their much bigger homes. Window watching and wanting a particular beautiful china doll. I also felt like I could relate to Mary, in that I always had low confidence in wearing glasses, especially the first time. I was 11 to 12 years old, when I first got my glasses, I couldnt see the white board so i didn't get good grades and didn't tell my parents or teacher. My fear was what other kids would make fun of me. Of course as a adult I'm different now, and got ICL surgery because I was very short sighted and now it's more about the freedom then what others say. But I guess from watching the little house series, I relate more to the child characters then the adults.

I am reaching out to inquire about an issue I have been facing regarding fishing. Although I am keen to learn the art of fishing, I have struggled with knot tying due to my learning disability and poor hand-eye coordination. Additionally, my work in sales and raising three kids keep me quite busy and it becomes challenging for me to invest ample time in this activity.
Hence, I would like to inquire if Bass Pro Shop or any similar stores offer services to set up fishing poles ready for immediate use, which would help me save time and still enjoy fishing. It would be greatly appreciated if you could provide information on this matter or suggest any alternative solutions that may be available.
I've gone fishing before and caught a fish, but the pole was already setup for me.

Back in May of 2022 I had my Apple Pay account (Which runs though Green Dot) frozen with a $935 balance. I called them several times over the months to try to understand why but was given nothing but a select few lousy vauge and scripted responses (as is the procedure for all banks when they "suspect fraud", another vauge statement in of itself). I was told several times that I no longer have access to the funds and would never get them back.
I decided to file a compliant with the Consumer Finance Protections Bureau and within 10 days the pieces of sh*t over at Green Dot decided to start communicating properly. I was told I am now able to transfer the funds but cannot open an account with them again. Fine by me, as long as I get back what was rightfully mine to begin with. I had to go out of my way to do so but it got the attention of these CROOKS.
The simple fact that for every dollar we all deposit into these banks allows them to borrow 10x the amount of that deposit from the Fed to play their games, makes lousy bets. crash the markets, and cause inflation, all for the benifit of the select few board members is more than enough for me to unequivocally understand that it is the PRIVILAGE for the banks to store our money, NOT the other way around as the global financial system will try and have us believe (Please spare me any "legal explinations", word soup jargen, or anything else in the banks defense of their lousy behavior. I simply disagree and do not want to hear it). It is a very interesting phenomonon that banks are allowed to behave this way but when their bad actions inevidably causes their house of cards to collapse the bank executives run to the Fed with their hat in hand begging for bailout money providing all sorts of lousy excuses and explinations.

Besides offering up chaotic open-world action, one thing that Rockstar's games have done ever since Grand Theft Auto III is push the envelope in terms of technology. This is somewhat debatable up to Grand Theft Auto IV, which stunned audiences with its mix of macro-scale simulation and micro-scale detail. GTA V and the newer Red Dead Redemption 2 have continued this tradition, and both are still capable of putting the hurt on modern PCs. That's largely thanks to their forward-looking design that integrates features that contemporary systems weren't really ready for when the released.

The thing is, even though it just got a re-release on the current-generation consoles, GTA V originally released in 2013. The game's still fun, of course, especially the online mode that has seen continual updates over the years. The technology behind the title is getting a little dated, though, and fans of the series are understandably chomping at the bit for a new release. Rockstar has confirmed that GTA VI (or at least, the next GTA game) is in the works, but as usual, the company hasn't released any information about the title, nor mentioned a release window.
The leaks and rumors that we've heard so far place a hypothetical "GTA VI" at the end of next year, or even in 2025. That's a lot of development time, even if the company only moved into active development in the middle of last year, as is supposedly the case. In a time when almost every other development house (from Square-Enix to CD Projekt Red) is moving to the Unreal Engine, it seems like Rockstar will thankfully stick with its own in-house tech, known as RAGE.

That bit of information comes from a tweet by Chris Klippel, who is among other things the creator of Rockstar Mag, a French-language gaming news site that focuses on topics surrounding Rockstar Games and its releases. You can see the tweet above. Chris says that he has been in touch with people who have seen the latest version of RAGE in action, and that its graphics engine is "assez incroyable." Chris describes the latest version as RAGE9, which is interesting; Rockstar doesn't talk about RAGE as a separate product from its games, likely because it doesn't license the tech.

It's not hard to imagine what sort of features the game engine might include to warrant that description. Heavy usage of ray-traced graphics will go a long way toward impressive presentation, but based on what we've heard in the past about GTA VI, it seems likely that the latest RAGE might be more impressive in its ability to scale content from infinitesimal details all the way up to gigantic cityscapes. We've seen demonstrations of similar technology in Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5, and given the nature of "GTA", such capability would be perfectly suited to the games.

Another impressive characteristic in GTA VI might just be the NPC AI. Historically, Grand Theft Auto's NPCs have been extremely simple stand-ins mostly intended to give the scene a realistic look without having much in the way of personality or believable behavior. That could all change in the next GTA game, based on a patent filed in October 2020.
From what we've heard, the next Grand Theft Auto title will be set in Vice City once again, so look forward to exploring the city's tropical environs. No word on the chronological setting, though; it could be set as far back as the Cuban Missile Crisis, or it could be set in the modern day. We also don't know necessarily what platforms the title will appear for, but based on Rockstar's history, we'd expect it to be available for the PS5 and Xbox before it appears on PC later.

Hey everyone, I work at an up and coming software company in Atlanta as a network support/Helpdesk engineer / sysadmin for my company, and I think I’m getting underpaid. Currently making 70K and I’ve been in the IT field for 9 years now, and at this current job for almost 3 years. My pay is consistent within my small departments, but that doesn’t say much as I think the whole department is underpaid. For reference, I know that our entry level software engineers/late stage interns make 100K+ on the low end. Same goes for our project managers and customer success mangers. I appreciate some feedback from you all on what my worth is, as I’m still young and figuring things out.
The description of what I do at work is ever growing and I’ll probably forget some things, but this is at least most of what I do on a weekly basis.
My job mainly focuses on implementing and onboarding our clients on the technical side, as well as dealing with the highest level support/helpdesk tickets that come into our queue. I work with IT counterparts (DBAs, CIOs, CTOs, and various other stake holders on the project) on the customer end to integrate their various IT systems into our platform, whether that be databases, firewalls, and other client devices on the network. I’m also a SME when it comes to our own technology and how it works to integrate with various counterpart softwares. I work with our own project management team to set client expectations and come up with solutions for integrating, as each client’s implementation is unique.
I also work with our sales and training team to support them with higher leave technical questions from customers and prospective customers.
I also manage the networks at our offices, and am sort of a catch-all for anything regarding technical problems that happen under our roofs. I’m on an on-call rotation for escalations from our support desk that is 1 week on 1 week off, but when shit hits the fan, regardless if I’m on call or not, I get the calls from our C-suite to help resolve the issues.
The job also involves some travel to higher profile clients during times of emergency. It isn’t all that often, but when something comes up that needs immediate on site support for something high-level and important, its me getting on a plane to go fix the problem.
I’ve got experience in and am considered one of the experts at my place of work in the following: Windows Mac OS Debian based OSs Routing/switching Firewalls Databases IP Video
I also have experience, but not what I would call an expert in project management (Google PM courses), Python (self taught), and the AWS Cloud (Cloud practitioner level, working on architect.)
Hours are typically 8-6, but as things go in the support department, there’s always more work to be done. Often having to work late and some weekends to even attempt to keep up with the workload.
Again, I’m probably leaving some stuff out, I’ll add anything else I can think of in the comments, but please feel free to ask more detail if needed. Any feedback from the group on what this job should be worth would be much appreciated.

Hi all. My mom was diagnosed with narcolepsy a few years ago and I have ADHD-I. My mom has a history of substance abuse but is on a better path now.
I've internalized this unhealthy mindset that resting = laziness. I've been working on this, but frankly I've given myself more grace while I find myself easily frustrated with my mom.
I don't really say anything to her though. Like ever. Typically, if I visit home and she is sleeping (and my dad is away). I ask if she would like to be woken up at a certain time (she does sleep through her alarms), fetch her coffee, and in the meantime catch up on any house chores to make it easier on her.
I think this is partially because of the fact that sometimes I feel triggered if she's been sleeping for awhile. Thinking she has relasped or just in a dark mental place.
I haven't brought this up in therapy yet but I'd apperciate some perspective from you all.

my in laws smoke, and although they smoke outside, their breath and clothes smell afterwards. my husband is very set on being strict with them when baby arrives and telling them to not smoke before visiting and even changing their clothes, washing hands etc. but he is also very concerned for myself as a pregnant lady being exposed to third hand smoke and for our gender reveal he wishes instead of doing it at their house we will do it at ours to avoid my exposure to cats (I'm allergic) and to avoid less contact to their smoke particles moreover he wants to also ask them to not smoke beforehand, and even wanted to ask them to change clothes so I don't have to smell it.. his in laws can be pretty sensitive about these things so im worries this will blow up,Is it reasonable to have some requests like not smoking beforehand, changing clothes or even just simply saying no smoke beforehand visiting in my pregnancy?

tl;dr 1 - I'm back to PC Games now that my kids are older and I LOVE IT all over again! The tenth game on our list is OCTOPATH TRAVELER II - sequel to the hit game "Octopath Traveler," which features stunning HD-2D graphics that are even more impressive than before, bringing the diverse cultures and industries of the Solistia realm to life. Players once again assume the roles of eight different characters, each with their own unique origins, motivations, and abilities. With the freedom to explore the world at their own pace, players can toggle between day and night to transform towns and their inhabitants, revealing new paths to explore and stories to experience. The addition of new mechanics, such as the ability to board canoes or sail the sea on a large vessel, adds even more excitement to the already exhilarating gameplay. "Octopath Traveler II" is a must-play for anyone who loves immersive storytelling, stunning graphics, and strategic gameplay. Ok. So that is our list of the top 10 PC games of 2023, but I do have 3 more honorable mentions for you.
The first one is The Last of Us Part 1 Remake which is an action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog, which was originally released in 2013. The same studio has now created a remake of the game with improved graphics and gameplay. The remake has already been available on the PlayStation and is set to release on March 28, 2023, on PC, as of writing this. I have included it in the bonus list because my team missed it on the upcoming PC games list of 2023, and it's just around the corner. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where a fungal infection has transformed the majority of the population into aggressive creatures called "infected." Players control Joel, a smuggler who is responsible for escorting Ellie, a young girl, across the country to a group of rebels known as the Fireflies. The second honorable mention is Street Fighter 6 which is an upcoming fighting game developed by Capcom, the latest instalment in the popular Street Fighter series. It is expected to introduce new mechanics and features to the franchise, including an updated graphics engine, a roster of both new and returning characters, and improved gameplay mechanics. The game is set to be released on June 2nd, 2023, and again, I have included it in this list as we missed mentioning it in the “Top 10 Upcoming PC Games” video. The third honorable mention is One Piece Odyssey which is a new RPG based on the popular ONE PIECE anime and manga series. Players take on the role of various members of the Straw Hat Crew as they navigate a lush tropical island and encounter dangerous enemies and forces of nature. Despite its popularity, ONE PIECE ODYSSEY did not make it onto a top 10 list due to strong competition from other RPGs with more polished gameplay and storytelling. However, fans of the ONE PIECE series may still find enjoyment in the game's faithful adaptation of the source material and its classic RPG mechanics. Well, that's it, guys. I hope that helped. Hi all,
So I took my 2011 335xi in for a water pump replacement, but had them look at my car before they did any work. It was also found to have a second coolant leak, but very minor at this time is what I am told, but it can become major. Of course, with a 12 year old BMW I have oil leaks, and apparently the oil dripping onto the rubber housing is causing it to swell and leak a bit where the rubber coolant pipe connects to the metal one. But the car has been sitting for a while which most likely made it worse.
Anyways, I was quoted $1800 to fix the coolant pipe leak at a dealership. They described it as the "coolant pipe between water pump and crankcase" and I asked for details and they said; where the metal pipe from under the exhaust manifold comes around to the engine and meets the rubber hose, it is leaking right where the metal and the rubber tubes/hoses/pipes connect.
They said that the cost is mainly labor since they have to remove the turbo, but looking online the parts are like $300-400 and I just find it crazy that labor would be around 1500, yes I know it is dealership prices. But I could really use any insight anyone has, I have already shelled out a lot recently to fix up the car and I don't want to over spend where I can avoid doing so. I also don't want to get rid of the car. I plan to get a second opinion but wanted to ask here if anyone had some valuable feedback.

My husband’s brother is not of sane mind and his wife is the same way. She has hated me from day 1 even though I’ve never done anything to her. She’s horrible to the whole family, but she’s especially been awful to me since I met my husband. I really don’t mind his brother, I just don’t like being around her because of how she’s treated me. I can forgive the HORRIBLE things she’s said and done to me for the past 5 years, but I’ve set boundaries because I don’t like being around her for extended periods of time. She makes me extremely uncomfortable and is always saying things to get under my skin, and she knows what she’s doing. I just sit there and take it and smile and laugh because I don’t want it to cause problems and her keep their kid away from my husband. The problem is it’s hard to visit with them unless it’s like an overnight thing, but I don’t feel comfortable with her overnight in my house and I don’t want to stay over there. Especially when my in laws visit, we would all have to stay over there because we can’t house everyone. I would never keep my husband from his brother, and I really don’t mind him. I am completely fine with those two hanging out. It’s just when she is involved, I don’t want to be around someone who has treated me like dirt for no reason. I’m just so conflicted and there’s nothing else I can say to get my point across about my boundaries. Seeking advice.

Hey All - about ready to pull the trigger on a new uplift V2 desk but have a few questions I couldn't quite find searching. I want to purchase a 60x30 desktop and want to make the desk mobil on casters due to a small condo - plan on setting it up in the second bedroom and when we host guests move it around for space in another room. My questions are -
1) C Frame vs C Commerical Frame - i plan on putting casters on the desk and will move the desk across hardwood floors most likely quite infrequently - maybe 3-6 times a year. Is the commercial frame beneficial from a rigidity stand point moving the desk around with the cross bar? or is the normal C Frame fine with the intent moving it around.

2) Uplift Caster Wheels - are you guys happy with the quality of their in house casters that lock or have you gone third party? i have third party "Rollerblade rubber wheels" on my chair and they are so smooth and leave zero scuffs / marks on the hardwood.

3) CPU Holder - i have an oversized gaming pc tower (Corsair 5000d) which wont fit their standard cpu holder so i will need to go third party - any issues drilling into the laminate particle board with the correct hardware. I am a comfortable handy man and understand different products but curious what your expereinces where with mounting a cpu holder to the underside of the desk.

As part of an annual service contract, we just had our first "whole home electrical inspection." Now, this house is almost a century old, so I knew we'd have ungrounded outlets and other stuff, but what really surprised me was that the majority of the issues were in the kitchen that we just had gutted and replaced in 2020. The electricians did stuff like putting the appliances on the same circuits as their adjacent wall outlets, which is apparently a no-no... although I suspect that's because our panel is totally maxed out and the project didn't include redoing all of that stuff.
Anyway, the electricians gave us a big list of things to do (oddly, none of which was "get rid of the remaining knob and tube"). Aside from upgrading the panel and other big-ticket items, I'm seeing several lines of "Install/Replace GFCI Outlet;-Install dual function 20 amp gfi in place of 15 amp standard gfi." They're quoting $135 per outlet for that. Since I have removed and replaced plenty of outlets over the years, I know that's a simple and inexpensive job I could tackle for much less.
However, since this was part of a much bigger quoted list, I want to be sure I understand. Is this, as I'm assuming, simply a matter of removing a 15 amp receptacle and installing a 20 amp in its place, or is switching up to a higher amp outlet predicated on having already upgraded the panel and wiring behind it?

I had used my fb marketplace to put an item up for sale, it was a crib mattress and only $10. The listing was up for over a week and no one interested. One night I had a woman contact me close to 10PM saying she needed it immediately. She just had a baby and had the crib but no crib mattress. I figured if she lived 15 minutes away then I would have my husband go with me to meet her and possibly just give her the mattress seeing I was getting ready to take it to the dump anyway. I asked her how long it would take her to meet me at a local school (3 tenths of a mile away from me) and gave her the address, she tells me her GPS says almost 2 hours. But she "needed" the mattress right away but would have to bring her 3 kids with her to pick it up, and it needed to be at my address. I don't know the age of the kids and didn't ask. I advised her that she could pretty much buy a brand new crib mattress for what it would cost her in gas plus the crib mattress. She states she only has a little bit of money and was not worried about gas. I even asked her if I could meet with her the next day at a specific time and a specific public location and was immediately turned down. It had to be at my address.
I asked her what area she was in and she told me so I did a google map search and saw a walmart right near the area she was supposedly in. I offered to do a walmart pickup order under her name and I would pay for the mattress. I figured if she has very little money then I could help her by buying her a $50 crib mattress, which is what I am guessing a 4 hour round trip with basically one and a half tanks of gas would have cost, plus the mattress. She absolutely declined saying it was nice of me, but she wanted my crib mattress.
All of this didn't add up. 3 kids, just had a baby, has the crib but "forgot" a mattress. Lives almost 2 hours away and has very little money but can afford the gas. Needed the mattress at nearly midnight if I had agreed to meet with her. Declined me ordering her a brand new one that would have been much closer to her. Refused to meet in a public location the next day and 'required' my address.....I just got a super uneasy feeling. I politely told her I wish her luck, but I was not meeting with her at midnight and if she didn't accept meeting at a public location the next day then I was not going to give her the mattress.
I am not saying I would have done any different. I know I can be a paranoid person but with today's scams, crimes, etc....I am extremely careful. Would you have done something different? I kind of feel like I offered some very good alternatives but all were shot down.
