I'm building my brother a gaming pc, and I put together this list. I've built pcs before, but I'm not an expert so I just wanted to run this by reddit first. I'm wondering about the CPU mainly. It seems a bit on the weak side. Should I get one that's a bit beefier? Besides that just let me know if there's anything else I'm missing.

2023.03.30 17:12 PennyworthInvesting Copper vs Oil: The Great Disconnect

Copper vs Oil: The Great Disconnect
Copper is an important industrial metal and remains the key transitional metal in our view for the ongoing renewable revolution.
Historically, copper also has an almost unbeaten record for sniffing out economic strength and weakness before many other commodities. Fondly called Dr. Copper for this very reason, the copper industry is an essential part of the global economy and demand is closely tied to overall economic growth.
According to the Copper Alliance (a leading advocate for the copper industry), one tonne of copper is enough to build 40 cars, power 100,000 mobile phones, drive operations in 400 computers and bring electricity to 30 homes.
Historically, there has been a strong correlation between copper and oil, as both are affected by the same economic factors and market conditions. Energy costs make up a significant portion of the costs of copper extraction, smelting and refining, so there is a material basis for copper and oil prices to fluctuate in unison.
Oil is also a critical power source for economic activity, and quickly reflects falling or rising economic output. Oil accounts for about 3% of GDP and is one of the world’s most important commodities. Petroleum is essential to the manufacture of innumerable products from plastics and chemicals to clothing, and constitutes billions of dollars of transactions, even before considering its use as a fuel for transportation.
For a short video summary of this report, look here:
A decline or expansion of the world economy almost always results in an increase or decline of oil and copper prices. Forecasts of the respective prices and consumption of these two commodities, are generally set and revised with projections of global economic growth. Case in point, economists will often perceive a rise in oil prices as news of inflationary or recessionary tailwinds.
However, we’ve noticed something strange happening lately. We are seeing a decoupling of copper and oil prices, with copper prices rising dramatically year to date while oil prices are struggling amid global inflationary concerns and a worldwide banking crisis.
Oil vs. Copper Price (Year to Date %)
So why is copper holding up so much better than oil, when forecasters expect slowing economic growth, tightening lending standards and a potential recession within the next 12 months?
We think the answer all comes down to inventories…

Oil: A Story of Geopolitics & Supply
The International Energy Agency (IEA) states that in Q4 2022, supply outpaced demand by over 1 mb/d, despite a cut in OPEC+ production targets and disruptions to US supplies (due to winter storms).
Also, gains in energy efficiencies and soaring sales of electrical vehicles, will curb global 2023 demand growth by close to 900 kb/d in 2023. The market participation of Russia and China remains unpredictable, as sanctions have prompted Russia to seek new customers (at arguably reduced prices) for their oil, and the nature and speed of China’s reopening is still uncertain.
US Central bank policy has overshadowed China’s reopening, with the two week old banking crisis taking crude oil futures down by about $11/bbl, or 13% since March 3rd.
The US oil benchmark, Western Texas Intermediate (WTI) continues to slump as well as US crude stockpiles build. Overall, optimism is fading from the market.

Copper: The Uncrowned King of Commodities
Like Rodin’s the Thinker, copper sits above the rest in contemplation of the current tepid macroeconomic backdrop.
Copper is the best performer this year out of the industrial metals, rising more than 7% year-to-date, while other comparable metals have fallen in an environment of slowing economic growth expectations.
There is evidence that current prices aren’t reflecting expected supply deficits, which we’ll discuss below.

Very Low Inventory Driving Current Price Strength
We think the most likely explanation for Copper’s strength vs oil comes down to copper’s very low global inventory levels. As we’ve covered in previous articles, global inventories for copper and other industrial metals held at exchange monitored warehouses (i.e. LME & SHFE) are at record lows.
The situation looks like its gotten worse amidst all the economic worries not better, with investment Bank Goldman Sachs forecasting that the world could run out of visible copper inventories by Q3 this year, if current demand trends continue.
The re-opening of China, a major consumer of copper is a major contributor to rising copper demand expectations this year. Chinese demand rose strongly in February, the latest month of data. Currently, copper inventories are at the lowest seasonal level since 2008.
According to GS, Chinese copper demand rose 13% in February year-over-year; and they believe that the price could hit $10,500 a tonne as the Asian nation increases their post lunar new year industrial activity.
Copper Global Visible Inventories
One of the major factors affecting the strong copper price is the increasing demand for green technologies, more specifically batteries. McKinsey & Co. has identified that electrification is projected to increase annual copper demand to 36.6 million metric tons by 2031, and only rapid new mine development and the adoption of copper mitigating technologies, could potentially fill the looming copper supply gap.

Shortfalls, Slowdowns & Supply Gaps driving an Uncertain Future
A 2022 S&P Global study found that significant copper shortfalls will begin in 2025, as a result of increased demand from the energy transition and limited new copper supply. Their rocky road scenario assumes that if current conditions continue, there will be a 10 million metric ton shortfall by 2035. Even in their high ambition scenario, which assumes significant strides in technologies for extraction and recycling techniques, a shortfall will continue until 2035.
Forecast Copper Supply & Demand Balance
Unfortunately, the mining industry will not be able to meet this supply gap from new production without a frankly unrealistic increase in drilling capital expenditures.
Many of the world’s largest copper mines are facing dwindling reserves, depleted ore-grades and are slowing production due to capital-intensive major projects being moved underground in a bid to increase access to more ore.
Looking for new deposits (called greenfield exploration), is very costly and imposes inherit risks and difficulties. Not to mention, finding copper and putting it on production takes a long time.
The past decade has seen greenfield exploration slow dramatically, as the excess supply from 2006-2012 was worked down.
S&P Global estimates that new discoveries averaged 50Mt annually from 1990 to 2010. Moving to the present, discoveries have fallen by 80% to only 8Mt / year.
Current estimates expect a cumulative supply gap of 50Mt or over two years of global demand, between 2022 and 2030.
Mining project approval rates have stalled. During the first half of 2022, the volume of committed projects totaled just 260,000 tonnes of production per year.
Mining Project Approvals by Year (kt copper)
Three Ways to Invest in a Copper Shortage
Given the significant inventory shortages we have identified above, copper prices are poised to hold up better than other commodities if we are going into a period of economic weakness.
A resumption of quantitative easing by Central Banks or falling interest rates, could easily push copper prices to new highs under the current supply shortages.
We prefer three different ways to invest in these trends, bucketed by diversification and risk.
On the lower risk end of the spectrum is the Global X Copper Miners ETF (Ticker: COPX). The ETF is well diversified with 51 positions, and the top 10 stocks taking up a little over half of portfolio.
The diversification of COPX helps you avoid taking on company risk, the risk that one company does something stupid. COPX provides exposure to the price of copper with the potential for better returns than physical copper given the operating leverage copper miners have to the underlying commodity.
Top 25 Holdings of the COPX Copper ETF
Year-to-date copper prices are outperforming the copper miners 3.4%, though in early February the copper miners were up 18%, 10% more than physical copper.
YTD Performance of Copper vs COPX ETF
Our second preferred way to invest in copper upside is to own a high-quality large miner like Southern Copper (Ticker: SCCO). Southern Copper has a market value of $55bn and generates almost 80% of revenue from copper.
Southern Copper Footprint
Yes, Southern Copper is more expensive than large mining peers like BHP or Freeport-McMoRan, but it has outperformed them significantly this year due to its heavy copper weighting. Exactly the exposure and outcome an investor would want.
Forecast EV/EBITDA in 2023
YTD Performance
Our final investment pick to take advantage of the positive copper outlook is a small cap miner, with a unique value proposition. Investing in small caps does come with higher operational risks, but this is balanced by far higher return potential as smaller miners are often mispriced, especially at the beginning of a sustained period of stable to rising commodity prices, like we may be in today.
The company we’ve chosen has a truly unique operational footprint as it produces copper but does not need a mine to do so. The company Amerigo Resources (Ticker: ARG, ARREF), which we’ve written about before on Capital10x, provides significant leverage to copper prices without exposing investors to uncertainties that come from operating a complex copper mine.
Amerigo receives waste fluid (tailings) from El Teniente, one of the largest copper mines in the world. The company extracts the remaining Copper and Molybdenum from the waste stream, selling it back to the mine at the current global copper price.
Another risk mitigator with Amerigo is the company’s very low leverage. Cash exceeds debt which gives the company flexibility should copper prices decline for a period, if the world does go into a shallow recession.
Amerigo is trading on a trailing EV/EBITDA of 5.3x with Copper at $4.11/lb. The last time the stock traded at 5.3x EV/EBITDA copper was at $3.00/lb.
Amerigo EV/EBITDA multiple vs Copper Price
This tells us there is significant upside at current copper prices, especially seeing as EBITDA is expected to be $36 million at $3.60/lb copper which is in line with EBITDA in 2018, when the stock was at a similar multiple.
Bottom Line: Amerigo is pricing in $3.60/lb copper when prices are trading at $4.00/lb or 10% higher.

Commodity Prices Rarely Lie
Whenever we notice two economically sensitive commodities like oil and copper diverging in price, we take notice.
After looking at the fundamentals of each, it became clear there are huge differences that likely explain the divergence.
Oil investment may be low historically, but we can see demand weakening in real time through rising inventory levels in the US and elsewhere.
Copper in contrast has an acute supply shortage. The supply situation is so critical that even as global growth and demand are weakening, prices have been rising, telling us supply just isn’t there.
Copper has the superior short term and long term demand trends and continues to be our preferred commodity investment this decade, regardless of the chances we see of a global recession in the near future.

2023.03.30 17:11 life-death-motu Album drop predictions

So now the new album's been announced, how long until it's released? Do we have anything to go on? Average time between announcement & release, meaningful dates, that sort of thing?
I'm taking a wild guess at May 1st (May Day), just because it feels like a decent amount of time to build hype.
But also it would be really funny if they released it on April fools, right guys haha, I would look so silly, I sure hope they don't do that.

2023.03.30 17:09 steamhyperpolyglot Island Arc (Seed 6184)

Island Arc (Seed 6184)
Hey guys, so I have been playing around with the different seeds that have been previously recommended by other gamers. I want to first highlight that I respect that the different seeds might suit different gamers according to how they like to play the game. Personally, I'm always a city builder first before anything else. That's my "persona" when it comes to city building games. That also means, having all the basic necessary/strategic resources on the ("usual candidates") potential starting islands in a region.
Since the ones recommended by other gamers didn't really work for me personally, I have chosen to test out a few random seeds. The previous one I had a bit of luck with was "1626", but it only is good for the Old World region. In the New World, it wasn't very good. Manola had 0 oil fields, and a few of the other potential starting islands also had 0 oil fields. Not very good if you ask me.
So, I decided to explore/experiment with a few more and until I stumbled across this one.
Old World: Seed 6184 (Island Arc)
In the Old World, there is an island to the top right of the map where you will find it has 7 oil fields. Great way to start a session.
New World: Seed 6184 (Manola)
Finally, to the New World. Finally, this time Manola has 9 oil fields! Which is even more than during the standard scenario mode. Every time I played the scenario mode (previous sessions), I would only get 6, sometimes 7 oil fields. 9 is plentiful now.
New World: Seed 6184 (Potential Starting Island)
There's one other island that I felt should've been given Oil fields. And it's this large island you see above. When playing with 1626 previously, it had 0 oil fields, which kinda sucked. But now, it has 21!!!
New World: Seed 6184 (Potentially Strategic Island)
The next island I want to focus on is not really a starting island. But it's one that I felt would be good to grab early once the region opens up. It has three of the most important resources you'll need later at the investor's stage i.e. pearls, tobacco and cocoa >> jewellery, cigars and chocolate.
For this new playthrough session, I'll be using the individual islands as a way to focus on producing key goods. I will then ship those items to Manola for production and trading (except maybe Hot takes up too much space). Maybe the devs ought to do some normalization of the consumption rate of hot sauce. The amount of hot sauce breweries we need to maintain in order to support the hacienda's residents' needs is insane. Not to mention, shipping back to the old world for consumption (Lifestyle Needs).
Context: I have never made it far enough into the late game (skyscrapers level 3 and beyond, and tourists). I also haven't conquered the Arctic region yet. So I'm assuming that once a player acquires gas, they can do even more with the various supply chain needs.
For now, let me just end here. Once I have entered the other regions - Enbesa and Arctic, I'll be back to update this posting with more screenshots.
P.S. No one seed is perfect. Let's just face it. For this current seed, there are a few islands I used to love, but now have rivers running through them. But hey, we have to give and take a little right? Can't always have everything our way.

2023.03.30 17:07 Piscenian 160 Days and $15,000 as a Home and Office Cleaner - Part 2

This is a continuation of my previous post located here: 90 Days and $5000 as a Home and Office Cleaner - Part 1, and please understand, I'm no writer, my post will probably never be as organized as some of the other beautiful ones I see posted here.
My wife and I decided to start a business 167 days ago. Our total sales from this venture are at $15,000.00*(rounded) Here is our journey so far.
Some quick stats
General Statement So we are in it now, we feel a great deal more comfortable with the company and a hell of a lot more worried now but things are good. You're probably wondering why is he saying he is worried. Well, I’ll tell you, Taxes. Taxes absolutely must be considered very early on in this venture, even if your “plan” is to avoid paying taxes. We however lucky we are, had a bit of foresight and within a few weeks of starting the company, started making plans to make sure all of our tax responsibilities were covered by setting some money aside…… then around 100 days later (sadly I know) put those bigger plans into motion and hired a CPA.
I’ll keep this brief and move on to another topic in just a minute. Hire a CPA, and heed his/her advice. Make the business legal, and when taxes roll around, file as an S-Corp.
What is working for us?
Alright, so what's changed in the past 70 days? Lots, but at the same time, not so much.
A Better Website
We finally upgraded to - my web traffic has DRAMATICALLY increased and I think my website looks beautiful, no complaints here, the price is extremely fair and the service works wonderfully.
Advertisement Creation
We still use, although now I have a paid subscription to it, I create my ad’s here.
Google comes in handy
We are still using my google spreadsheets for metric tracking, jobs, revenue, taxes, etc…..It’s probably overkill but I enjoy digging through the data.
I’ve also used google suite to build out some flyers/printables/task lists for my wife when she goes out on a job.
Some company shirts
We have a few company-branded T-shirts now, a few revisions worth of business cards, and a few sets of supplies.
We are landing contracts!
Things have been going pretty well, We now officially have 2 landed contracts accounting for roughly $1500 of our monthly revenue across 5-6 jobs a month. We are negotiating a 3rd contract for an additional $1500 per month. Around 8-10 monthly recurring cleanings with homeowners, and we have been fired by 2 clients, both were past recurring cleanings, I will elaborate a little more later on.
Continued improvement The frenzied ‘hunger’ i spoke of in part 1 is a little less now but I believe this is due to some success. We no longer have to work as hard to keep the calendar full and it's great. But with that said, I do notice a drop in bookings when I decide to slack up a bit on my advertising.
Speaking of advertising let's jump into what's working for us.
Google Local Service ads are great, use them, it's like $20-$30 per lead but they have been solid for us, with roughly 25 jobs booked (let's average out some $ for you, $300 spent, turned into roughly 4k revenue).
We seem to rank fairly high on google for the little amount of money I’ve spent on it, I believe some of this is due to pagesmack SEO and some of it is due to the hours I have listed for the company.
Facebook posts / paid ads, These were tremendous to us in the beginning, I still think they are working pretty well for us and will continue to do so until I see a big drop off…. if I see a big drop-off. Here is a brief rundown of my strat. Post often, even if it is not an advertisement for the company… is. I make posts for holidays, and I try and shine a spotlight on other local businesses in town alongside my normal advertisements which I try and keep fresh every month.
As always I am very open to private discussions about my company and even phone calls. But please understand I am very new to owning a business, and this is our first ever attempt at anything like this….things just seem to be working out for us. We are working VERY hard to keep things moving in the right direction, I'm spending a lot of my free time trying to grow this business, mornings, evenings, and in between. I’m leaning on all of the resources I have access to, Family, Friends, ChatGPT, a CPA, and anyone with advice.
I’m also very interested in speaking with people much more experienced than me. I know we have a long way to go, and a lot of changes will need to be made in order to maintain a good legal and tax-paying standing, Unfortunately, funds are required, and my knowledge is lacking in some of these areas. My goal is to be completely on the up and up by the end of the year or when taxes are due.
I'll be attempting to clean this up after i post.

2023.03.30 17:06 jb_august [FRANCE] Tower build ~2000€

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.
I plan to mostly game on it, games like Elden Ring, League of Legends, Civilization 6 or Witcher III.
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
Budget is around 2000€, I can add a couple thousands if necessary but would prefer not to
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
I plan to build it in 1 to 2 weeks
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
I need a tower and a 24" monitor (no curved screens please)
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.
I already have a Logitech G713 keyboard & G705 mouse as well as a 27" 1440p DELL monitor
Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
I'd like to have SSD storage of 500Go, or more
What type of network connectivity do you need? (Wired and/or WiFi) If WiFi is needed and you would like to find the fastest match for your wireless router, please list any specifics.
Wired connectivity
Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?
I'd like to go for a full white RGB build. So a white ATX Mid-Tower case with a window and RGB fans. I do understand that white components are more expensive than the black ones so if it doesn't fit the budget I'm totally ok with black ones. I'd rather have better quality black components than lower quality white ones. I'm also fine with mix of black and white components
Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?
No need for Windows
Extra info or particulars: None, thanks a lot !

2023.03.30 17:05 DanielVz0826 First Time Build Advice/Opinion

Hello everyone, after many years of just playing in console I have decided to go for it and try to build a PC.
I did a lot of research on the parts and selected the best I could for a budget that was ranging the $1700 USD. I am looking for mostly gaming at 1440p with max fps.
Here's the link to the build:
CPU: AMD AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB
Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB
Video Card: MSI GAMING X TRIO GeForce RTX 4070 Ti
Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX
PSU: Corsair RM850x (2021) 850 W
Any advice is greatly appreciated as this is my first time planning a build.
Also, I know there's a lot of polemic regarding the 4070ti and it being overpriced. Considering that currently there's practically no 3080s and no 3090s out there at MSRP, I didn't see why I would pay 1300 for a 3080 compared to 850 for the 4070 ti (even though they can all be considered mid range cards). I do believe the 4070 ti would be overpriced if there was still supply of 30 series cards, but I don't see any other feasible option. At this point it became a lower priced "30 series card" that still performs well above at 1440p the way I see it.
Thanks in advance.

Get the course here:
Dan Koe – Digital Economics Masters Degree

What You Get

Phase 0) Digital Economics 101

The Digital Economics 101 module will open 1 week prior to the cohort start date. This is an onboarding module that will get you up to speed so we can get straight into the material. This will be required to finish before the start date.
  • Gain a deep understanding of all of the pieces in the digital economy.
  • Learn about the future of media and code — the front-end and backend of the internet — so you can focus your efforts.
  • Understand digital leverage, distribution, no-code tools, and digital assets so you can take part in the mental & financial wealth transfer.

Phase 1) Creating A Meaningful Niche

Every day I hear people going on and on about trying to find their niche.I also hear people talking about how they don’t know how to combine what they love talking about with what will sell. You already have the answer. You just don’t have the clarity.
  • Develop a long-term strategy to create your own niche — meaning you don’t have to worry about your “competition” playing status games.
  • Discover your life’s work, curiosities, and obsessions. I see too many people that are uncertain about this for years.
  • Cultivate and turn your vision, goals, and values into a brand that attracts an audience you love interacting with (and that will buy from you, and only you).

Phase 2) Content Strategy

There is one thing that separates those who make it in the digital economy and those who don’t.It’s the quality, articulation, and perceived originality of their content. The content you post has to make sense to the people you attract.Everyone has a different voice and tone that they resonate with. That they are congruent with and trust. It has to change their thought patterns or behavior — that’s what makes you memorable. That’s what separates you from the sea of people posting surface-level copy-cat style posts.Example and putting my money where my mouth is:
  • Become an expert-level speaker or writer on the topics you care about.
  • Never run out of content ideas for your posts or promotions (without using content templates — that’s how you stay a commodity).
  • Create posts, blogs, tweets, images, and videos that resonate with other’s on a deep level. People will actually ask you how you got so good at what you do.
  • Separate yourself from the ocean of B-tier creators that struggle to sell their products, services, andhave their ideas stick in the head of their audience.
  • Implement our Epistemic Research Method — which is just a fancy way of saying scientific research method… but it’s for researching your mind to craft brilliant content and product ideas.

Phase 3) Crafting Your Offer

Most people are sitting on a goldmine of skills, experience, and knowledge (that they can use to help people 1-2 steps behind them). That is what people pay for.Considering 95% of the market are beginners… if you are good at something, you can help them get to your level (no matter how “basic” you think the information is).Do you not watch basic content all day anyway? People don’t want new information, they want to be reminded of what works.
  • Use our Minimum Viable Offer strategy to start monetizing immediately (and have something to improve over time, rather than procrastinating until it’s perfect).
  • Have a strategy for reducing the time you spend working over time (as you build leverage and improve your offer).
  • Know how to create your own customers from the audience you are building, instead of “finding” the right customer for your offer.
  • Take the guesswork out of building coaching, consulting, or digital product offers.

Phase 4) Marketing Strategy

You aren’t making money because you aren’t promoting yourself or your offer. That is literally the only way to make money. Have something desirable and consistently put it in front of peoples’ faces. In Phase 4, I will show you how to systemize, automate, and be consistent with simple promotions. You will be able to make money without having the chance of forgetting to do it (or letting fear of failure get in the way).
  • Learn to sell on social media, in your writing, and across different platforms.
  • Have consistent sales coming in while focusing on your meaningful message (no need to sound salesy all the time).
  • Learn advanced automation strategies that you can implement at your own pace, especially once you validate your offer.

Bonus) The Creator Command Center

The Creator Command Center is a Notion template that houses all of the systems. This is how you will manage your brand, content, offer creation, marketing strategy, and systemized promotions for consistent sales.

Bonus) Live Product Build & Launch

In the first Digital Economics Cohort, I built out my course The 2 Hour Writer.I have videos showing how I build it with the strategies in phase 3 and 4.There is a bonus module that shows how I had an $85,000 launch that resulted in my first $100K month.I did this to prove the strategies inside Digital Economics work if you stick to the plan. And, this past Black Friday, I blew my that monthly high out of the water in 4 days. That’s the power of these strategies if you stay consistent with your life’s work.

2023.03.30 17:04 Revolutionary-You-35 Looking for help/advice for first ever build

This is my first time ever posting something like this here on this reddit or really posting anything really on reddit so I'm sorry if I don't add enough information about the build I'm going for or if I type this post weirdly.
Alright with that out the way. I am trying to build a PC for the first time for gaming at 1080p (The games I would like to play are Elden ring, maybe Cyberpunk, Valorant, and maybe some Minecraft with mods) and streaming and I've done a bit of research on what I want out of this and I will try to explain what I'm trying to go for with this build. I don't really have a budget but that doesn't mean I'm not trying to save money where I can which is one of the reasons why I'm asking for help and/or tips. The main reason I picked some of these parts is so I could later on upgrade stuff like the CPU or GPU. The CPU I want to use for now is the Ryzen 5 5600 and later down the line like in maybe 3~4 years go for something like the 5800x3d which I would like to pair with I suppose a Nvidia 4000 GPU or maybe a 3080 3090. I'm not really sure what I would want or what would be a good combo CPU and GPU for the more higher tier GPUS but basically I want this current build to have a future where I can use the more powerful GPUS without having to replace a lot of the other parts.
First up the reason I went with a 5600 CPU is because I wanted a cheap enough chip that I could use with my current 3060 GPU and that it wont bottleneck it. The price I'm getting it at is $129.99 plus some tax but I might be able to get it $25 off I'm not sure yet.
I didn't include a cooler cause I plan to use the included cooler for a while just to save some money for the time being and later maybe buy a AIO if I see the temps being high and also for looks or Ill pick a Air Cooler I don't really know yet.
The reason I picked this motherboard is for the WIFI because my internet box isn't close by to connect it and it has bios flashback that will let me use the 5800x3d or any other 5000 series CPU. I also just simply like how it looks. The price I can get it for is $149.99 plus tax which seems pretty good unless anyone thinks I could get something even cheaper with WIFI and bios flashback that lets me upgrade to a 5800x3d later on (and it looks nice enough).
The ram was mostly picked for looks but I heard that 3200 CL16 is a good type to get so that's why I picked what I did. The price is $54.02 plus some tax so if you have any advice for the ram please let me know.
Now I know the SSD is maybe overkill but I just picked it to use my PCIe4 slot with something good so I wouldn't need to upgrade it or anything and it has enough storage for a good while I think. The price is about $74.20 including tax so if I could go cheaper then please leave some suggestions and why.
For the GPU I went with the Nvidia 3060 because I thought it was going to cost $340 but then it went up to $360.36 including tax so that was a let down but I still think its a ok price for what it is. Now I know I could have gone with AMD or maybe Intel ARC to spend less for more or less the same performance but I would like to stream and Nvidia GPUS are I believe better for such task but unless I'm missing something please let me know.
I just like the case and it comes with 3 RGB fans and a hub for the fans so that's nice plus some cable management. Now the case itself cost $104.90 including tax compared to how much it normally cost ($129.99) but that's cos I'm getting used so that's why its that price plus its missing a PCIE SLOT COVER (a PCIE SLOT COVER is where the GPU ports are located I believe) so I'm going to inspect it in person and see if I should get it otherwise I might go with something like a black NZXT H5 Flow Tempered Glass Case(I don't know what fans I would need for that case so if you know please let me know just in case).
So I put down a 3 pack of Corsair fans with a hub because the total is $70 vs buying just the 3 fans for $72.57 so why not go cheaper plus I believe they are the same as the ones included with the case so it should be easy to setup but I'm not sure since this would be my fist build(I would need to change these if I need to change case to the NZXT so if you know which ones they are please let me know).
And Finally the power supply. So I went with 650w for $89.99 even though that isn't really future proof for a stronger GPU. I don't really know what power supplies would last me a long time and would work for something like a 3080, 3090, or 4000 series GPU in the future. I know I would need more power if I were to upgrade like a 750w, 850w PSU but I'm not really sure. If you could help me with recommendations for a low price but good quality PSU please let me know.
Ohh yeah and I picked the monitor for 1080p 165HZ which cost $127.96 since the monitor I have now is like 10 years old so I figured its time to upgrade(and I can use the old one as a second monitor).
The total amount for everything is about $1185.87 so let me know if I could do better or if this is a good list of parts for future upgrades and what I'm doing correct or incorrectly.

2023.03.30 17:03 athen66 Gemini Earn Class Action Update

Dear Gemini Earn Investor,
As you can imagine, it has been an eventful couple of months at K&S. I know I personally owe several of you phone calls and emails, and I wanted to apologize to those of you I have not been able to respond to yet. As our proposed class action against Gemini and the Winklevoss twins moves through the legal process, Earn investors have continued to reach out to us with questions about new developments and their implications for individual investors. We wanted to provide you all with an update about where things stand, and what the next steps in our pursuit of recovery for Earn investors might look like.
Class Action Updates & Deadlines As many of you are aware, the deadline to file motions for lead plaintiff was on February 27. We filed our motion with the court and, as expected, a handful of other law firms filed competing motions, but we feel confident that our lead plaintiff group and K&S are best suited and will be able to move forward and continue what we started when we filed the lawsuit. Indeed, one of these firms has already filed a letter stating that they do not oppose our motion for lead plaintiff and lead counsel.
After we filed our lead plaintiff motion, Judge Buchwald gave us the opportunity to amend our original complaint to address the issues that Gemini’s counsel raised when they answered our complaint regarding arbitration (Gemini asserted that our lawsuit should be brought in arbitration and not in court and we opposed that assertion at the time). We anticipate that Gemini will now proceed with filing a motion to compel arbitration, which we will oppose.
We believe the reasons for keeping this action in court as opposed to arbitration are sound. That said, we are prepared to proceed with arbitration in the event Judge Buchwald does decide that arbitration is the appropriate venue for our lawsuit, and we will reach out to each of you if that happens.
If you would like to see the amended complaint, we have put it up on the Gemini Class Action’s filing section on our website along with a redline against the original complaint so you can more easily see what we added. You can also dive deeper into some of our arguments against the defendants’ efforts to compel arbitration in our letter to the Judge and exhibits filed January 13 (also on that page).
Taxes We can imagine the frustration of receiving a 1099 from Gemini for funds you did not receive and could not access. This may be especially damaging to those who kept funds that they were specifically saving for 2022 tax payments on the Earn platform. I am sorry that we cannot offer financial or tax advice or otherwise be more helpful in this arena. I realize you may have all already heard this, but we strongly encourage any Earn investors with questions to speak to a tax professional as soon as possible. Gemini requested a 30-day extension from the IRS, giving it extra time to provide Forms 1099-MISC to Gemini Exchange account holders for the tax year 2022, but we do not recommend assuming that the extension applies to individual investors as well.
Genesis Chapter 11 Updates We continue to closely follow the Genesis bankruptcy as it develops. Filings in the bankruptcy case have given us some insight into the financial conditions at Genesis, but things remain murky as to the current state of negotiations between Genesis and Gemini, as well as Genesis’s creditors. As many of you know, Genesis filed a term sheet on February 10. However, Genesis has yet to file a proposed plan seeking court approval, and without that, we cannot rely on the information that has been released. If you would like to follow the case and read the full filings and financials, you can get updates through Kroll Restructuring Admin’s page.
As we continue to field emails and calls from Earn investors, we have been so grateful for your patience, input, involvement, and generosity in sharing your stories; those of you who have reached out directly have been truly helpful to us in building this case. In our declarations to Judge Buchwald, we wanted to make it clear that the losses suffered by Earn investors are not mere matters of business - we know that losing access to vital savings has an unacceptable impact on the day-to-day lives and well-being of thousands of regular people who entrusted their funds to Gemini.
For our part, we will continue to seek to hold Gemini and the Winklevoss twins to account, and demand that they provide a clear path to recovery for all Earn investors.
If you would prefer not to receive these updates from us, please let me know, or click “Unsubscribe” at the bottom of this email. Otherwise, we will continue to email the larger group when we have any updates or information that we think may be helpful.
Thank you, again.
Best, Hee-Jean
