2023.03.30 18:52 Formal-Mud-990 For what it's worth this is the proof for later when some try to say I didn't try
Misinform comes in all shapes and sizes. To all degrees and extents. In ever form and fashion's conceivable. Only as limited as the limitless stretch of human imagination. I strongly encourage to do google checks on any and indeed all if you can manage the parts of this you don't understand or believe to be correct. I challenge you to prove it wrong with reliable and trustworthy sources. If I am wrong then you proved it. An only time was lost. If I'm right . Then it is your future loved ones who are yet to be born that are lost. If that seems worth checking into then I say do it.
As a life long Minnesota home grown individual. I tend to believe as a whole MN is better . Better then those who will blindly follow without doing the due diligence of staying the course when necessary and going around when need arise. Maybe I'm wrong there too huh?
Earl Miller along with alot of original top level of various positions like head of marketing, the guy who made the thumbs up like icon on face book is a specific example for instance, all agree on attention grabbing tactics being used to work for the interest of someone rich. Misinformation comes in all shapes and sizes. all Forms and fashions. To all conceivable degrees and extents. As countless and limitless as the ppls own personal perspectives allows them. It can be on purpose on accident. For fun for harm and even just for the fuck of it. This is a problem for us all that can only get worse the longer it goes unaddressed. Trickle down economics: Reaganomics as it's sometimes referred to as. The only responsibility of the corporation is that of the fiduciary responsibility to it's stock holders even at the expense of the stake holders, at the expense of the environment, and community. this is not the solution it is in fact the problem. It is the reason for 90% of the suffering by the 99% less rich then the top 1% of wealth holders. If I create money in my home it is considered bad counterfeit and illegal. When businesses do this with no money it is called " cooking the books" Also illegal. When private and commercial banks do it it is legal, and when you continue to allow fraud to remain legalized it creates a lot of problems that can have nothing done against them. In 1971 Nixon takes America off the gold standard system replaced with the FIAT system. Fiat is Latin for let it be so by the way. Only governments can make a Fiat currency. And only banks can create by lending. Central banks lend to investment banks , who lend to commercial banks, who lend to top corporations who go to giant govt contractors who then finally lend to borrowers. It was in 1932 that the glass steagall act was passed to help oppose this. Yet in 1999 treasury's Secretary at the time Larry summers as well as his predecessor Robert Rubin repealed this glass steagall act. Then congressman Hank Paulson more or less said if you don't bail is banks out for letting this problem occur via these methods ever citizens bank account emptys and they revolt and you lose so do what you got to make it borrow it whatever we need a 700 billion dollar bail out now. This is how along with Allen Greenspan's timely encouraging you get inflation and insurance causing subprime housing crises. The FED is the lobbyist for the commercial banking system. Plutocracy is government by the rich. Goldman Sachs uses money to buy influence in Congress to pass laws to make it easier to make money on wall street to buy more influence in Congress....one of the most influential investment banks of the world in Sept 2008, just about one month before the stock market crashed conveniently changed it's banking status from investment to commercial, this made it eligible for state protection. It was in ancient Greece that Pluto stated it should never be more then six to one ratio in financial pay between the highest and lowest paid position. It wasn't until 1923 that J.P Morgan said it was actually 20:1 as optimal difference. I'm sure him being a banker is just coincidence. Now just 100 years later it is sometimes 500:1 even 1000:1 and when the income inequality is in a ratio of 500 to 1 the whole concept of living may as well be between two different species. The difference in economy ideals the ways of living all together. The ranges of disparity is in entirely different brackets. One never seeing even the best of the worst of the other in any circumstances. There can be no sense of community's if there is no common ground on which to live next to one another. It takes good communities to raise good kids teaching them in good schools without biases and agendas other then that of allowing the next generation to be the most capable and competent when the time comes to pass the torch as no one can hold it up forever no matter how strong it must be passed. Human beings right now at this moment are acting to accelerate if not make it a certainty the lives of our grandchildren will be worsening. More world wide famine disease and war. All creating more death . We all follow suit unquestionably due to the slavery of greed stemmed from this income inequalities. We do this even though we all love our grand kids when over a time any system is built to create laws for legalization and moral codes for the justifying these walks of life. We do I think deserve to be walked on by them. For if that is not so then it is equally as not so possible for us to rise together for the future of mankind. Truly then and only then will the systemic changes necessary for elimination of the evils allowing this way of life. The American declaration of independence states the following in it's article 11 but for those saying I take what I want out of context to suit my own ends...yes that is correct. I would encourage all to go when able and read the thing in it's entirety to see the context for themselves. --" All experience has shown that mankind is more disposed to suffer- Whilst evils are sufferable- then to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed."-- American declaration of independence --"God made all men equal and gave them the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit to happiness. That to secure these rights governments are instituted amongst men deriving there just powers from the consent of governed. That when any form of government becomes destructive of these ends. It is the rights of the people,it is the duty, to alter or abolish it and institute new guards for there future security."-- George Washington (1796) - In his farewell address, President Washington discussed the dangers of political factions and foreign entanglements. Roosevelt (1938) - In his "Message to Congress on Curbing Monopolies," President Roosevelt was responding to a growing concern among Americans about the power of big business and monopolies. Truman argued that the government had a responsibility to protect workers' rights and freedoms, and to ensure that the economy worked for everyone, not just the wealthy. Truman called for stronger government regulation of the economy to prevent abuses by employers and corporations, and to promote fair wages and working conditions for workers. Truman's speech reflected a growing concern among Americans about economic inequality and the need for government intervention to promote social justice.
Lyndon B. Johnson (1965) - In his "Special Message to the Congress: The Quality of American Life," President Johnson was responding to a range of social problems facing the country, including poverty, discrimination, and environmental degradation. Johnson argued that government had a crucial role to play in addressing these issues, and that unwarranted influence by special interests was a threat to American democracy. Johnson called for stronger government action to promote social justice and environmental protection, including new laws to protect civil rights and preserve natural resources. Johnson's speech reflected a growing concern among Americans about the need for government intervention to address social and environmental problems.
Richard Nixon (1971) - In his "Message to the Congress on Reorganization of the Executive Branch," President Nixon was responding to concerns among conservatives about the size and power of the federal government. Nixon argued that excessive bureaucracy and regulation were stifling economic growth and innovation, and that government needed to be streamlined and made more efficient. Nixon's speech called for a reorganization of the executive branch of government to make it more effective and responsive to the needs of the American people. Nixon's speech reflected a growing concern among conservatives about the need to reduce the size and power of government
Bill Clinton (1993) - In his "Address to the Nation on Health Care Reform," President Clinton was responding to concerns among Americans about the high cost and limited access to health care. Clinton argued that the government had a responsibility to ensure access to affordable health care for all Americans, and that the current system was subject to unwarranted influence by special interests. Clinton's speech called for comprehensive health care reform, including new regulations to control costs and expand coverage. Clinton's speech reflected a growing concern among Americans about the need for government intervention to address the problems in the health care system.
John F. Kennedy (1961) - In his inaugural address, President Kennedy famously called on Americans to "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." Kennedy's speech reflected his belief in the importance of civic responsibility and public service, and his hope that Americans would be willing to work together to address the challenges facing the country.
Jimmy Carter (1979) - In his "Crisis of Confidence" speech, President Carter discussed the need for Americans to confront the energy crisis, and to work together to build a more sustainable and equitable society. Carter's speech reflected his concern that the country was losing its sense of purpose and direction, and his belief in the importance of public engagement and citizen involvement.
Barack Obama (2009) - In his inaugural address, President Obama discussed the need for a new era of responsibility and citizenship, and called on Americans to work together to overcome the challenges facing the country. Obama's speech reflected his belief in the importance of community and shared sacrifice, and his hope that Americans would be willing to come together to address issues like climate change, healthcare, and economic inequality.
Donald Trump (2021) - In his farewell address, President Trump discussed his accomplishments as president, and called on Americans to continue to support his agenda and vision for the country. Trump's speech reflected his belief in the importance of strong borders, economic growth, and America-first policies, and his hope that his supporters would remain committed to these values in the years to come
Dwight D. Eisenhower (1961) - In his farewell address, President Eisenhower warned of the dangers of the military-industrial complex, and called on Americans to remain vigilant in protecting democratic values and institutions. Eisenhower had served as a general in World War II before becoming president, and had witnessed firsthand the growth of the military and defense industries during his time in office. His farewell address reflected his concern that the power of these industries could threaten the stability and security of the country, and his belief in the importance of maintaining a balance between military preparedness and civilian control.
Richard Nixon (1974) - In his resignation speech, President Nixon discussed the need for national healing and reconciliation following the Watergate scandal and his resignation from office. Nixon's presidency had been marked by significant achievements in foreign policy and domestic issues, but had also been marred by corruption and abuse of power. His resignation speech reflected his recognition of the damage done to the country by the Watergate scandal, and his hope that the country could move past it and focus on the future.
Ronald Reagan (1989) - In his farewell address, President Reagan discussed the importance of individual freedom and limited government, and called on Americans to remain committed to these values. Reagan's presidency had been marked by a conservative shift in American politics, and he had championed policies like tax cuts, deregulation, and increased military spending. His farewell address reflected his belief in the importance of these policies in promoting economic growth and national security, and his hope that they would continue to guide American policy in the future.
In his 1936 State of the Union address, President Franklin D. Roosevelt expressed concern about the increasing concentration of economic power in the hands of a few large corporations and wealthy individuals. He argued that the government had a responsibility to protect the rights of workers and consumers and to promote competition and economic opportunity for all Americans.
In his 1961 farewell address, President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned of the potential dangers of the close relationship between the military and the defense industry. He believed that this could lead to the creation of a powerful military-industrial complex that would distort national priorities and threaten individual liberties.
President Jimmy Carter's 1979 speech on the energy crisis reflected his concern that excessive government regulation was hindering the development of alternative energy sources and impeding economic growth. He called for a more balanced approach to energy policy that would promote conservation, innovation, and private investment.
In his 1981 inaugural address, President Ronald Reagan expressed his belief that government had become too large and too intrusive, and that excessive regulation was stifling economic growth and individual freedom. He advocated for a smaller, more limited government that would give individuals and businesses more control over their own lives.
In his 1992 State of the Union address, President George H.W. Bush was responding to concerns that government regulations were placing an undue burden on businesses and impeding economic growth. He called for a "regulatory bill of rights" that would give citizens and businesses greater protection against unnecessary government interference.
In his 2000 State of the Union address, President Bill Clinton called for a renewed focus on economic growth and innovation, emphasizing the importance of investing in education, research and development, and technology. He also highlighted the need for greater economic opportunity for all Americans.
In his 2008 campaign speech on the economy, then-Senator Barack Obama called for a more balanced approach to economic policy that would address growing income inequality, promote job growth, and provide greater support for the middle class.
In his 2011 State of the Union address, President Barack Obama emphasized the need to invest in education, innovation, and infrastructure in order to promote long-term economic growth. He also called for greater cooperation between government and business to create jobs and spur economic development. In his 1936 State of the Union address, President Franklin D. Roosevelt was responding to the increasing concentration of economic power in the hands of a few large corporations and wealthy individuals, which he saw as a threat to American democracy. He argued that the government had a responsibility to protect the rights of workers and consumers and to promote competition and economic opportunity for all Americans.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt, in his 1936 State of the Union address, warned against the dangers of "economic royalists" who sought to control the government and manipulate the economy for their own benefit.
In his 1961 farewell address, President Dwight D. Eisenhower famously warned of the "military-industrial complex," cautioning against the undue influence of the military-industrial complex on American foreign policy and domestic affairs.
President Jimmy Carter, in a 1979 address on the energy crisis, criticized the "excessive growth in government bureaucracy" and called for a reevaluation of regulations that were hampering the development of alternative energy sources.
President Ronald Reagan, in his 1981 inaugural address, declared that "government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem," expressing his belief in the importance of reducing government regulations and increasing individual freedoms.
In his 1992 State of the Union address, President George H.W. Bush called for a "regulatory bill of rights" to protect citizens from overzealous regulators and bureaucratic red tape.
These examples demonstrate the range of concerns and challenges facing presidents as they leave office, and the importance of reflecting on these issues in farewell addresses. They also show how these addresses can be used to call attention to important issues and values, and to set the tone for future national debates and policies. Eariguardless of your side or preference.for perceived better or worse. In this there is togetherness that is truly American at heart.

Tax cuts Deregulation of industries Changes to government spending priorities Infrastructure spending Presidential remarks during economic upswings:
Claims credit for economic growth and job creation Proposes tax cuts or other measures to continue economic growth Promises to maintain fiscal responsibility and decrease government debt levels Many of these systemic changes have persisted from their time of origin to present day, although the specifics may vary depending on the time period and the context. For example, government spending on social welfare programs tends to increase during economic downturns and decrease during economic upswings, but the specific programs and amounts of funding may change over time. Similarly, tax policy changes and deregulation can have long-lasting impacts on the economy, but the specific policies and their effects will depend on the political and economic context. Other systemic changes, such as changes in unemployment rates, GDP growth, and income inequality, may be more cyclical and subject to fluctuations over time. However, even these changes can be influenced by long-term factors such as technological innovation, demographic shifts, and globalization. George Washington, who warned against the dangers of political factions and the concentration of power in his farewell address. Abraham Lincoln, who famously described democracy as "government of the people, by the people, for the people" in his Gettysburg Address. Franklin D. Roosevelt, who championed the New Deal as a way to restore economic power to ordinary Americans and protect them against the excesses of the wealthy and powerful. Lyndon B. Johnson, who declared a "war on poverty" and passed legislation like the Voting Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act to promote greater equality and fairness in society. Barack Obama, who frequently spoke out against income inequality and the influence of big money in politics, and who warned of the dangers of authoritarianism and polarization in his farewell address. Dwight D. Eisenhower, who warned against the dangers of the military-industrial complex and emphasized the need for balance between national security and civil liberties. Ronald Reagan, who championed conservative principles such as free market capitalism and individual liberty, but who also spoke out against government corruption and waste, and who signed into law the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, which granted amnesty to millions of undocumented immigrants George H.W. Bush, who championed a "kinder, gentler" conservatism and who signed into law the Americans with Disabilities Act, which prohibited discrimination against individuals with disabilities
Gerald Ford, who emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in government and who sought to heal divisions in the wake of the Watergate scandal Richard Nixon, who championed conservative policies such as law and order and the war on drugs, but who also signed into law important environmental and workplace safety legislation, and who famously declared in his second inaugural address that "we cannot learn from one another until we stop shouting at one another" John Quincy Adams, who spoke out against slavery and who called for greater investment in education and science, and who famously declared that "if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." James Madison, who helped draft the U.S. Constitution and who championed principles such as federalism and separation of powers, and who famously declared in Federalist No. 10 that a well-constructed government can control the effects of factions and prevent them from undermining democracy. Thomas Jefferson, who championed democratic principles such as individual liberty, religious freedom, and popular sovereignty, and who famously declared in the Declaration of Independence that "all men are created equal."
Andrew Jackson, who championed the interests of the common man and who fought against the power of entrenched elites, but who also faced criticism for his treatment of Native Americans and his expansion of executive power Franklin Pierce, who emphasized the importance of compromise and reconciliation in the face of political divisions, but who also faced criticism for his support of pro-slavery policies and his handling of the issue of states' rights James K. Polk, who presided over a period of territorial expansion and economic growth, but who also faced criticism for his aggressive foreign policy and his handling of the issue of slavery in the territories James Monroe, who championed the principles of nationalism and self-determination, and who famously declared in his Monroe Doctrine that the United States would not tolerate European interference in the affairs of the Western Hemisphere John Adams, who helped draft the Declaration of Independence and who emphasized the importance of civic virtue and education in maintaining a healthy democracy, but who also faced criticism for his handling of the issue of free speech during the Alien and Sedition Acts. Again, as we go further back in history, the language and context of presidential speeches may differ from what we are accustomed to today, but many of the underlying principles and ideals remain relevant and important.
Martin Van Buren, who championed the principles of limited government and individual liberty, and who emphasized the importance of protecting the rights of minorities and marginalized groups William Henry Harrison, who emphasized the importance of public service and civic responsibility, and who called for greater investment in infrastructure and public works projects James Buchanan, who emphasized the importance of preserving the Union and upholding the Constitution, but who also faced criticism for his handling of the issue of slavery and his failure to prevent the outbreak of the Civil War Millard Fillmore, who championed the principles of free trade and religious tolerance, and who signed into law the Compromise of 1850, which sought to resolve the issue of slavery in the territories Zachary Taylor, who emphasized the importance of national unity and the preservation of the Union, and who faced criticism for his handling of the issue of states' rights and his failure to prevent the outbreak of the Civil War.
Franklin D. Roosevelt, who championed the principles of social justice and economic equality, and who led the country through the Great Depression and World War II, and who famously declared in his first inaugural address that "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself" Harry S. Truman, who emphasized the importance of international cooperation and who oversaw the establishment of the United Nations and the Marshall Plan, but who also faced criticism for his handling of the issue of civil rights and his decision to drop atomic bombs on Japan Dwight D. Eisenhower, who championed the principles of national security and economic growth, and who oversaw the construction of the interstate highway system and the launch of the space race, but who also faced criticism for his handling of the issue of civil rights and his reluctance to push for greater social and economic reforms John F. Kennedy, who emphasized the importance of civil rights and social justice, and who led the country through the Cuban Missile Crisis and the early years of the Cold War, but who also faced criticism for his handling of the Bay of Pigs invasion and his personal life and character Lyndon B. Johnson, who championed the principles of civil rights and social welfare, and who oversaw the passage of important legislation such as the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act, but who also faced criticism for his handling of the Vietnam War and his expansion of the federal government's role in domestic affairs. Again, these examples span a wide range of historical eras and political contexts, but they all demonstrate the ways in which presidential speeches and policies can have a lasting impact on American society and its political and economic systems.
On how Presidential speeches and policies can have a significant impact on American society id point to the following.
Presidential speeches can inspire and mobilize the public to support certain policy initiatives or social movements. For instance, Franklin D. Roosevelt's famous Fireside Chats during the Great Depression helped to restore confidence in the government and laid the groundwork for the New Deal, while John F. Kennedy's call to "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country" inspired a generation of Americans to volunteer and engage in public service.
Presidential policies can have far-reaching effects on the economy, including on employment, wages, and the distribution of wealth. For example, Ronald Reagan's policies of deregulation and tax cuts in the 1980s helped to stimulate economic growth and job creation, but also led to rising income inequality and a decline in union membership. Similarly, Barack Obama's stimulus package and health care reform efforts in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis helped to stabilize the economy and expand access to health care, but also faced criticism for their cost and potential long-term effects.
Presidential speeches and policies can also shape the country's political and social structures, including issues such as civil rights, immigration, and foreign policy. For example, Lyndon B. Johnson's support for the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act helped to dismantle legal segregation and expand voting rights for African Americans, while Donald Trump's policies on immigration and trade reshaped the country's relationship with its neighbors and with the world.
And while arguably at worst and debatable at best I'd summarize it by way of how It's difficult to quantify exactly how many presidential speeches and policies have lasting effects to the present day, as the impact of a given speech or policy can depend on a wide range of factors, including historical context, political opposition, and implementation challenges. However, it's safe to say that many of the examples we've discussed earlier in this conversation have had a significant and lasting impact on American society and its political and economic structures. For instance:
The New Deal programs and reforms initiated by Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Great Depression continue to shape the country's social safety net and regulatory framework, with programs like Social Security and the National Labor Relations Act still in place today.
The civil rights legislation passed during the 1960s, including the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act, helped to dismantle legal segregation and expand voting rights for African Americans, although issues of racial inequality and discrimination persist to this day.
The deregulation and tax cuts implemented during the Reagan era continue to shape the country's economic policies and debates, with questions about the role of government in the economy and the distribution of wealth remaining hotly contested.
The health care reform efforts of the Obama administration, including the Affordable Care Act, have had a lasting impact on the country's health care system and access to care, although challenges to its implementation and ongoing political opposition continue to shape the debate.
These are just a few examples, but they demonstrate how presidential speeches and policies can have a lasting impact on American society and its political and economic structures.
The Marshall Plan, proposed by Harry Truman in 1947, helped to rebuild Europe after World War II and cemented the United States' role as a global superpower.
The War on Poverty and Great Society programs, initiated by Lyndon B. Johnson in the 1960s, helped to reduce poverty and expand access to education and health care for millions of Americans, although issues of poverty and inequality remain a challenge today.
The Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act, passed under Richard Nixon in the 1970s, helped to protect the environment and improve public health, although debates over environmental regulation and climate change continue to be major issues today.
The Americans with Disabilities Act, signed into law by George H.W. Bush in 1990, helped to expand access and opportunities for people with disabilities, although challenges to implementation and ongoing debates over disability rights and accommodations remain.
1987 CDC knew how and who aids would most likely effect and harm. Instead of being helpful and precise a fear campaign was launched. " Aids will explode into the hetero sexual community." , So instead a lot of in reality not even needed but now clogging the lines for those who do from being tested, Was said on commercials to the public at large. Just like covid is not Russian roulette, and of course technically anything can kill anyone or anything else at any time, yea sure it's not wrong. That is the just the law of the universe and as such it applies at all times to all things regardless of gender , race economic status , or personal preference of the plethora of human enjoyments practiced throughout the ages. As of may 2021 according to the CDC 75% of covid deaths are 65 years or older in America. 98-99% of those are unvaccinated.
So if if your 65 years old or older and not vaccinated don't go crowd surfing at a concert or you will probably be a goner.
The easy said an not implemented as easy as said I get that but none the less a fact for it Solution here is simply put help the most vulnerable after discovery of who that is and how to do so. Not to panic into a pandemic Robbing kids of education and sanity via stupid ,pointless , unhelpful, horrible means. Just to parade them around like masked bandits is both as ironic as it is ignorant. And what the whole world was doing not so long ago.when the same people in private health care, who are the very ones always saying to go get a second opinion, want to allow only one in the public debate you have problems. Problems including but not limited too Countless prescriptions labeled effective, safe , now giving out lawsuits for those who took them.

2023.03.30 18:42 succuglitch My (28F) birthday gift with my bf(30M) using my credit
My (28F) birthday is coming up. I asked my boyfriend (30 M) of 4 years for a Nintendo switch when he was working at a good job. He also wanted to get me a a few flat screen tv because he accidentally broke my LG tv screen and now it’s stopped working. In total it would be like 700ish. Recently some stuff has come up and he won’t able to afford it and then he quit his job because a coworker was starting fights with him causing them to send him home. He has gotten a new job and has barely started a few days ago. He made a proposal that I would get a Best Buy credit card in my name because he has bad credit and I have good credit and that we would use the credit card to buy the switch and the Tv and maybe some games for the switch and he would take care of all the payments for the card. And I would hold on to the card. If he pays it off within a year I/him wouldn’t have to pay interest. I felt weird about it but I said okay and got approved for a 2000 dollar limit Best Buy card. Later on told him never mind about the gifts it’s too much and I feel uncomfortable and he said “I figured out a way to get you what you wanted for your birthday and now it’s not good enough for you. You should be grateful. Your credit will get even better too.” He was mad. I just feel odd about it I have never gotten a gift like this before. And he owes me 3000 dollars from borrowing from me and it feels like he will owe more because he will be using my credit to get me my own gifts. I just regret now for asking for a switch. I need advice.

2023.03.30 18:42 DogshitHandGrenade PXMD - Mid-Day Update 3/30
| 2023-03-30 DogshitHandGrenade Not financial advice. I am a potato. Do your own DD and make your own decisions 1 DILUTION The word of the month I blame TRKA. A month ago 90% of the people on /ShortSqueeze and StockTwits didn’t even know what the word meant. Though it had something to do with chemistry class. TRKA woke everyone up to dilution but in a very extreme way. TRKA got f-cked. 600% dilution for zero dollars. This was epic, and it make dilution a nasty new word to the whole community. Here is the reality on dilution. It is like inflation. EVERY COMPANY DILUTES EVERY QUARTER. Every one of them. From PXMD to Amazon. It is part of the business. 90% of companies are prudent in their dilution like PXMD is. TRKA, AMC, and a lot of them are screwing over shareholders by 100%+ dilutions. It’s gross and why TRKA deserves zero of anyone’s trust. Every real professional investor knows when they price a stock in Aug 2022 IPO at $5.50 that the stock will experience dilution. It was especially known on a pre-revenue Pharma company. It’s just, do you trust the execs or not. It’s no different than having cash in your bank account but knowing the currency is going to inflate and you will lose purchasing power. You don’t go dump your dollars for pesos do you? As long as the dilution harvests cash, it’s pari passu. What we saw on LINCOLN was a modest, 1.2m share offering to harvest $2.8 cash. This is a 10% dilution. There is nothing scary here. They got a really great capital injection that furthers their runway about 1.5 Quarters. I can see that maybe PXMD Execs were getting really nervous given the market sentiment and they wanted to modestly raise additional capital to weather a 2023 recession. They didn’t need to do this, but in their calculation it was prudent. 2 Mapping the LINCOLN Dilution LINCOLN got 1.2m Shares for $2.33 average price. I want to know when those shares were given to LINCOLN and likely sold into the market. I know it wasn’t before 2/2, or if it was, it was a minimal amount because. This is because the exchange cap in the 2/2 LIND agreement made clear that on that date 12m shares was 20% of the outstanding. Prior to this outstanding was 11.7m. So MAYBE LINCOLN could have received at most 100k shares Pre-2/2 LIND agreement. Here is how I think the sale schedule went: Pre-2/2 – 100k – @$2.3 2/3 – 300k - $2.70 2/6 – 250k @ 2.97 2/10-2/22 – 75k / trading day – ~600k @ $2.11 This gets you the 1.2m shares and it has a weighted average of just near $2.33. So I imagine it went something like that. I’ll explain the dates. 2/3 and 2/6 had very high volume and high prices. I can see PXMD just wanting to be opportunistic now that the LIND agreement was closed. Not what I would have done, but perhaps they were nervous given the shaky market that they need to start squirreling away cash even at lower prices than they wanted to. They still did a very limited sell to limit dilution as much as possible. From 2/10-2/22 you see a stairstep down in price. I think they sold 75k on each of these days. When you look at the CTB over this period you can see it stepping down. This makes sense as more volume becomes available to borrow. The CTB continues to step down as the brokers adjust to the new amount of shares in the system. We are still at an INSANE 400%+ CTB. https://preview.redd.it/pn917dzbnwqa1.png?width=907&format=png&auto=webp&s=af54ed57e43dcd374b2b626402e8ad7166e7843e Batches of sales in white, CTB stepping down in Green Line It is my belief that LINCOLN sold all of these immediately upon receiving them on those date. You can see it in the price action stepping down. Also LINCOLN has never held over 600k shares because they would have forced them to report it to the SEC. If LINCOLN did hold 600k shares through this low period in February they would have certainly sold on 3/14 where there was 19m volume and price spiked to $2.90. I DO NOT BELIEVE LINCOLN HAS ANY SHARES RIGHT NOW THAT COULD EFFECTIVELY CAP THE SHARE PRICE OF THE SQUEEZE TO $2.33. THESE SHARES LINCOLN RECEIVED ARE ALREADY IN THE MARKET AND LIKELY IN RETAILS HANDS. And retail isn’t selling except for some weakness we’ve seen this morning. We’ve hit the floor well and held up. 3 So What Happens Next This changes nothing for the shorts. The FF is now around 2.0m shares, up from 818k shares. It is still highly likely the float is locked up by retail, it is only $4m after all which is nothing given the number of followers on this stock. How do I know this changes nothing for the shorts? The CTB is still well above 400%, that means despite the dilution and high FF the stock is extremely hard to borrow. When you look at the Interactive Brokers you see there are still no shares available. https://preview.redd.it/yqfyyyhdnwqa1.png?width=610&format=png&auto=webp&s=4c95160eb207f73de05c3fc82666926a621c0c8a Nothing about my chart from my Youtube video that I’ve been showing about shorts being underwater has changed. The calculations had nothing to do with dilution. They massively shorted the bottom of a stock and they’re stuck here bleeding. Shorts still need to cover 500k shares in a stock where nobody is selling. Even the smallest amount of covering is causing massive spikes. This will continue. Ortex will update the FF and it will appear like Short% took a huge dive. This does not mean shorts covered. You will now want to pay attention to the bottom number which is the total amount of short shares. That number will not change other than it’s normal daily fluctuations. https://preview.redd.it/ncuu5gzdnwqa1.png?width=693&format=png&auto=webp&s=79da0ccabcd8a032f2d9279e577716bdbd814397 This play is still on, this is still a massively shorted stock. I went back to my first DD from last week on PXMD and we were all excited because Short% was 40%. The reason for the short% going down today is because some retail is selling and some shorts are covering with retail shares. This has appeared to stop at $2.08 solid floor. Now the waiting game is back on. Shorts are still bleeding and some of them are going to want to take this opportunity to cover lower, sooner. The only thing I am changing to my strategy is where I sell. The dream of $7 to 10 is looking more difficult to achieve in a squeeze in my opinion because there are more shares in the float which means more changes for retail to capitulate and give up their shares for a gain and resolve the shorts. I can still see this spiking to $5. Shorts unfortunately for them, despite the modest increase in free float are in the same position. They are bleeding and need to cover or hope you all sell your shares down here. submitted by DogshitHandGrenade to PXMD [link] [comments] |

2023.03.30 18:35 wiredcerebellum The CIA has used advanced AI on the public for more than a century
| I'm going to tell you about what I believe to be the two most heavily suppressed theories that are not easily found on the internet. The first theory involves artificial intelligence (AI) and the creation of digital human beings that are indistinguishable from a real human being. I believe we all underestimate the power of AI and how long it has been around, and many celebrities and politicians that we think are real people are actually AI-generated humans. The second most heavily suppressed theory is the idea that the CIA used their advanced AI to write the Bible, the Quran, and all other major religious texts that we know of today. If you have a few extra minutes, take a read and let me know what you think. These are only my opinions and are subject to change based on new information. I gathered all the evidence I could think of, but the evidence is not perfect or fully supportive of my theories. First off, you need to realize that the CIA has AI technology that is likely 30-100 years ahead of the AI technology given to the public, such as ChatGPT. They only give us primitive versions of the AI technology they use to suppress us as a population. The CIA is the world’s most powerful organization and has been around much longer than they tell us (1947). Take a look at one of the most recent advancements in AI they have provided us with. Apparently, the Romanian government is now using an AI as a political advisor. Look. https://preview.redd.it/34r8tkmjlwqa1.png?width=975&format=png&auto=webp&s=c28253bc2b1e984527c1ee9d60327df858c08baf Now if they are just now showing us this AI political advisor, don't you think it's possible the CIA has AI tech 30-50 years ahead of this? Of course. The CIA shows you this because they want you to believe that if an AI is utilized in our society, it must look like the AI on the right. A digital screen with words on it. They don't want you to realize that AI is capable of also generating this entire image, along with the three people in it. I'm here to tell you that it is likely that this entire photo is AI-generated, including the people. Do you really believe if Romania is using AI for politicians that the US hasn't been using AI-generated politicians for decades? The greatest conversation the government and CIA currently try to suppress from the population is the idea of how long they have had this type of technology. If we truly knew that answer, we would start to question the things around us a little too much. So, what is the purpose of this post? To let you know that I believe at least half of the people we have seen for years throughout the news, politics, Hollywood, and other forms of media are not real human beings. They are artificial beings created by advanced AI technology. For example, tell me is this next image AI-generated or a real picture of Will Smith? It's from a Youtube video called "Will Smith-nothing is real." https://preview.redd.it/20xtoiollwqa1.png?width=975&format=png&auto=webp&s=599ded17285b0088f22c6a4e5c9597e386d0b2dc It looks like Will Smith doesn't it? It's not. It's AI-generated. Current AI tech is capable of simulating a human that is indistinguishable from a real human. It can also simulate crowds of thousands of humans all in the same scene and it can even simulate entire Hollywood movies with AI-actors that look entirely real. Look. https://preview.redd.it/2y7fvppnlwqa1.png?width=949&format=png&auto=webp&s=301b45c3f528944b5ac5762afcbe7ed873197884 https://preview.redd.it/nyhohdjolwqa1.png?width=932&format=png&auto=webp&s=6c26ff9dda52c92122fc597cc8ed1158dc31a2cc https://preview.redd.it/oliap9bplwqa1.png?width=975&format=png&auto=webp&s=c941dafafd97d4d060fbf0e0fcd9de521ebfbfed https://preview.redd.it/yevor41qlwqa1.png?width=975&format=png&auto=webp&s=f60cb6be8f1cf647b6f10b1ac27e2335f6ffd920 Notice in the last photo how this scene of Will Smith is only a small fraction of the working space for the AI. This video and any other video of any other human is very simple for the AI to generate and look realistic. We would be truly amazed what their AI is capable of. The system is designed to keep you from realizing this. The only real information given to the public about AI is through movies and science fiction, and even then, we are trained to associate AI with taking over the world, or something along those lines. They only want you to fear AI so you will not realize the power and capabilities of the AI software the CIA uses against the public. They especially don’t want us discussing how an AI can generate a human that is indistinguishable from another human, and you would never know the difference. The CIA has laced our world and internet with AI-generated humans that are not real people. For all we know, Joe Biden could be AI-generated. Many of you will say that this is not possible, and the CIA would never use AI-generated beings to manipulate us. But look where our gaming technology is now. Not even our AI tech, but just our video game technology. With the most technologically advanced basketball game in our current time, the game can put numerous avatars or people in the crowd and have other avatars or people playing basketball on the court so everyone can watch. It can all be process simultaneously and is very simple for our current gaming technology. Look: https://preview.redd.it/jzmhi2brlwqa1.png?width=975&format=png&auto=webp&s=9f17c2739fef607a6c8aa0f098c3cf88acbcbaba You need to realize, if the CIA is 50 years ahead of our tech in terms of AI capabilities and processing, then their AI is fully capable of generating this entire US congress meeting with every human being AI-generated just as easily as our video games can process a court full of players. Look: https://preview.redd.it/0kh5326tlwqa1.png?width=975&format=png&auto=webp&s=f3c3095d94acd07f7f0670442600c43690310a18 The CIA wants us to make this connection and realize that their AI systems can generate fake humans in any video on Youtube, any publicized awards show, any congress meeting or political hearing, and literally anything that is connected to the internet. The AI can generate fake identities for some of these people we know as politicians and celebrities and generate photos and videos of these peoples’ history that are simply not real. If we agree that the CIA has AI tech 30-100 years ahead of the public, then the CIA has been utilizing this AI tech since before the television was invented most likely. Meaning from the first time we turned on televisions in our homes, there is a chance that anyone we have seen on that television could be AI-generated. The CIA likely had nanotechnology at the time the television was created, so they could easily implement AI systems into every television set. For all we know, Biden, Trump, or Obama could be AI-generated, and we would never know. Sure, there is a chance of these people being seen in public, but it could be that these three are simply actors who show up for in person appearances so their stories appear real, but everything we see about them on the internet could all a be property of AI-generation. Obama may have been the president, but he may have partaken in no presidential duties. The AI could have generated every video we have ever seen Obama in for all we know. So why would there be AI-generated celebrities and politicians? Well, there are two ways you can look at this. The first involves a real living celebrity or politician purchasing and AI-generated version of themselves that they can use in their everyday life. So rather than showing up to a film set or political hearing, they can use the AI-generated version of themselves to attend every single event they don't want to attend. This saves them precious time and makes money while they sleep. The second perspective revolves around the idea that some of these celebrities and politicians are not real people but are rather manifestations from an advanced AI that is used to manipulate our thoughts and behavior. These types of AI are utilized to launder money, among other things. For example, if you were a billionaire, you could purchase an AI that was attractive, could sing amazingly, and that the people would love based on data. You could then purchase this AI an entire history including social security number, and have it blossom into an internet celebrity. The AI could eventually obtain 20 million followers on social media, and the billionaire who purchased it could funnel all the extra income through their AI's name. Imagine if the careers of Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and Brad Pitt were all AI generated, whether they are real humans or not, but a billionaire owned the rights to all their AI-generated income. Do you see where I'm going with this? A corporation like the CIA could own the rights to numerous politicians and celebrities, but because they are all AI-generated, the CIA takes home the money earned by these AI-generated individuals. Now, if I’m honest with you, I believe the CIA also used this AI to create all major religious texts that we know of today, including the Bible. Do you ever wonder how the Bible is written so well chronologically and how it is intertwined with numerology? Or how all the Bible’s prophecies are fulfilled over time? The CIA used the AI to write these texts so we would be easier to control as a population and possibly for other reasons that I will get to. For those of you who have used AI before, the prompt likely went something like this: “ChatGPT, write me a religious book that will withstand the test of time, of roughly 1000 years or so, and ensure that based on the predictions of how society will evolve, write this book in such a way that it continuously fulfills prophecies over this amount of time. Also write this book in such a way that it cannot be scientifically disproven over time, based on the way it is written.” People, imagine the advanced nature of the AI the CIA uses compared to something like ChatGPT, that we have access to. Don’t you believe it could write the Bible easily when given a more advanced and specific prompt then the one I wrote above? They can just put in a similar prompt for something like the Quran but asked the AI to input a different plot line. We all vastly underestimate the capabilities of sophisticated AI software. The only issue with this theory is the “facts” we were given about the Bible, namely that it has been around for 3,500 years. I don’t believe this. I believe that is fabricated by the CIA and their AI software, which maintains TOTAL control over the internet and every ounce of information we see on the internet. I think we have been deceived about the actual age of the Bible. It’s tough to think about where we all get every bit of information we have ever learned, but it’s basically all come from textbooks and the internet, of which the CIA controls the information flow in both. We only have access to information the CIA provides are allows to be on the internet. Our brains are made up of CIA provided information. There is no other source of information, even on the Dark Web. The CIA invented the Dark Web to make you think there exists a place that they don’t control information flow. So how do we know the Bible is 3500 years old? Because we are told that through the internet. We are shown pictures like this of the oldest Bible in existence: https://preview.redd.it/04bz3l5vlwqa1.png?width=574&format=png&auto=webp&s=8488809a46ea083af48c35bb2c8605befacbfedb Do all of you know how easy it is to fast-age a document and make it look extremely old? This is a simple technique, and it was likely used by the CIA to create these documents, and make the Bible appear older than it is. The other likely option is that this document does not exist in a physical form, but it is just a manifested photo from an advanced AI software. I believe we all underestimate how much of the internet is a product of AI manifestation. I can guarantee you AI has been involved since the invention of the internet. We have no evidence that the Bible or these other religious texts are 3500 years old. Do you think everyone had a Bible in their homes in the 1500s, 1600s, or 1700s? Of course not. Bibles started being widely distributed in the 1800s. My question is, is it possible that AI technology existed around this time, and was it used to write these religious texts? A lot of people will say that there is no way AI could have existed hundreds of years ago because that secret is too big to keep. But c’mon people, how do you think the thousands of people in the CIA keep their current secrets? How do you think people in the government ensure their employees keep the secrets? How does Hollywood ensure its employees keep secrets? They just do. And I assure you, no secret is too big to keep. It is highly possible that AI tech existed hundreds of years ago and is the reason why we have experienced an exponential increase in technological innovation over the past 200 years. AI has been the lead in designing society for a long time. I believe the CIA used AI to write these major religious texts and once they found a major way to control information in our society (mandatory schools around 1850), they started lacing society with documents and other “evidence” that the Bible is 3500 years old so we would never suspect an AI wrote it. People continuously wonder how the Bible is so chronologically and genealogical accurate, how it’s instilled with advanced numerology, and how it continuously speaks on prophecies that are being fulfilled to this day. It’s because developing a book with these properties is very simple for an AI. An AI could write a book identical to and even a more modern version of the current day Bible in one hour or less. An AI could easily transform the current laws of the Bible to fit today’s society and it would likely be a better book than the Bible. This is no difficult task for an AI. As an example of the Bible's numerology, have you heard the theory that the Bible is written so well because Shakespeare was involved in writing the New Kings James version and he is one of the greatest writers that ever lived? Yes, the theory goes that Shakespeare was roughly 46 when King James asked him to rewrite a better version of the Bible and Shakespeare even left a “nod” to himself in Psalm Chapter 46, which reads: https://preview.redd.it/owupf5rwlwqa1.png?width=536&format=png&auto=webp&s=02e4cf1ad998eaf1615d81bc74e4116584c46f10 You’ll notice that 46 words from the beginning it reads “shake” and 46 words from the end it reads “speare.” So, the theory is that Shakespeare wrote this as a joke to himself to show that he partook in writing this version of the Bible. However, I believe this also is CIA propaganda. I believe they programmed the AI to include this example of numerology when this version of the Bible was being written. I also believe it is possible that all of Shakespeare’s writings were created by AI, and Shakespeare himself is just another AI creation. We have no evidence that Shakespeare was a real person, other than what we are told from books and the internet. I believe Shakespeare may also be a manifestation of an advanced AI software owned by the people who control all information, the CIA. We all need to realize how often AI is used today to write not only books, but also new bills in Congress, movie scripts, and literally anything and everything. The elites have been using it for these things since the invention of this technology, and there is truly no telling how long they have had it. If it has been around for hundreds of years in secret somehow, then it is likely AI was used to write most major religious texts, including the Bible. We are simply tricked into believing the Bible is 3500 years old so we will think there is no way AI could have created it. The Bible and other religious texts can fulfill prophecies, have numerology instilled in them, and operate flawlessly chronologically all because an AI designed them to be this way. And the AI can mold and influence society in such a way that the society will fulfill prophecies from the books over time. It’s possible that the Bible is was created only a few centuries ago by AI. The AI also likely advises the CIA on what they should be doing to society and what information they should provide society with. The AI may have advised the CIA to start the coronavirus pandemic. The AI may have advised the CIA to appoint Obama, Trump, and Biden, assuming they aren’t AI-generated. The AI may advise the CIA on how to control the weather all over the planet on any given day, assuming they truly do have weather-altering technology as well. I do not believe the Rockefellers, Rothschilds, or any of these families truly run the world. I believe the CIA runs the world with the most powerful AI known to mankind, and these families are merely manifestations from that AI to deceive us. Keep in mind, people, none of us knew about the existence of these all-powerful families until we got on the internet, which was created by the CIA and is controlled by the CIA. I do not believe these families exist. I believe all videos we have ever seen of them, their histories, their past documents, and their extended family members may just be AI-generated content that has no basis in reality. These families were created by the CIA, the illuminati were created by the CIA, Anonymous was created by the CIA. All things on the internet come directly from the CIA, who controls everything. In summary, an AI software has controlled our society for possibly a century, many of the celebrities and politicians we know of are AI-generated, and an advanced AI likely wrote all major religious texts, including the Bible. Now ask yourself, was this post written by an AI? Or a real person? This is the current problem people. We have absolutely no way to distinguish on the internet if a human is a real being or an AI-generated person. We are hitting the singularity. Anyway, these are all my opinions and I hope you likes these two theories. Have a great day. submitted by wiredcerebellum to conspiracy [link] [comments] |
2023.03.30 18:34 sprad925 Could I be approved for a mortgage while on SNAP?
I’m a 32F with 2 kids and here’s a little backstory on my situation…
2015 - Bought a house for $134k, cosigned by my mother who makes decent money owning a business.
2021 - Got divorced, received SNAP for 1 year while I got on my feet, and then came off of it because I wanted to fully support myself and kids.
2023 - I’m getting ready to list my house and am anticipating a $50-$60k profit if all goes well, which I will use to pay off my car ($9000) and the rest as a down payment on a condo. I’m attempting to downsize to make my life easier and more affordable.
My question: As prices of food and everyday items go up, times are getting really hard again as a single mom. I’m considering applying for SNAP again, but will that destroy my ability to be approved for a new loan on a condo?
This would be my third mortgage loan and my mother would be co-signing again. My credit score is 815 and I have no other debts aside from my house and car. My income last year was $24k plus $12k in child support.

2023.03.30 18:29 StepwiseUndrape574 Grand Theft Auto 6 Fan Footage Shows Unreal Engine 5 Driven Vice City Splendor
Various pieces of Grand Theft Auto 6 news has been circulating lately, with a variety of leaks and information hitting the web. For example, just yesterday we learned that famed rapper 50 Cent might play a role in the next -- as yet unannounced -- installment of the GTA series. However, fans are growing tired of waiting and have begun to come up with thier own GTA 6 content to tide themselves over.
Posted to YouTube earlier this week, creator TeaserPlay envisioned the Grand Theft Auto 6 world in Unreal Engine 5. Based on prior leaks and information about the game, the technical or concept demo shows a part of what could be Vice City, as we follow a female character walking and driving around. You can check out the full demo below. It is pretty slick looking save for a few minor things.
Play
Interestingly, this is not the first time we have seen fan content for GTA 6, but it is one of the more recent and diverse creations. In any event, fans seem to be chomping at the bit for new GTA news, but Rockstar is keeping its cards close to the vest. Sadly, this is likely due in part to the leaks that happened in 2022, whereafter Rockstar seemed to hold onto any information in an effort to control the narrative around the game. Despite this, there still have been numerous leaks showing off new characters, a bit of the game world, and some of the tech for making GTA 6.
At the end of the day, we hope it won’t be too long before we get some official GTA 6 news, as there has been speculation of a 2024 or 2025 launch. Realistically, that is not all that far off anymore, so stay tuned as we keep our eyes peeled for any new GTA 6 announcements or information.

2023.03.30 18:18 LostCareTaker Humanity’s Potential - Part 5
First Previous Recounting of First Contact with Species HS-01 - Humans, Sol System, Primary sentient Species in the Star system. Recounting the events, Captain Invil Ta'Kotian, of the Serdes Hegemony, ally to the greater Federation that makes up much of the civilized galaxy. The nature of this retelling is to best determine the future that species HS-01 may have in the greater Galactic Stage, and whether they are friend or foe. This particular continuation begins after three members of Species HS-01, David, Sten, and Sasha, have escaped custody. After exploring the vessel and bickering, the team reveals that Sten wishes to not return to a life of fighting angry farmers on Mars. David states his desire to return home. Sasha, however, remains silent during the entire exchange. Captain Invil and his crew are discovered by Hvista raiders, and after divulging the presence of a new species called "Humans" onboard their ship, the Hvista are all but eager to board and fight this new "Super" species. "You shot us." David stated plainly as he sat in a chair facing Captain Invil. Scratching his beard, he nibbled on the extra food that had been provided. Sasha quietly stood next to him, munching away, as Sten practically inhaled ration bar after ration bar.
"We were terrified." Invil answered.
"You. Shot. Us." David said once more before folding his arms. "I said I wanted peace, I even said I didn't mind playing by your rules, and you shot us."
"You have a prisoner in your presence. I'd assumed you were the same. We don't know you. We don't know what your species is capable of. We were scared." Invil quickly reiterated before looking down. "I apologize... I suppose the silver lining is... Our weapons seem to have no effect on you."
"Oh they do," David said as he held up his right appendage. A massive block of purple and blue covered the area he'd been shot at. "It hurts like hell."
"It's supposed to tear off limbs."
Sten audibly laughed, showing his teeth and causing a number of the crew to place a hand on their weapons. "That's supposed to tear off limbs? Barely an itch."
"Well these are small arms. I'm certain a rifle could do more damage." Invil stated as if trying to protest as the large man only grinned more. "We don't have any on board.
"Yeah and why is that?" David took hold of the conversation again. "Far as I can tell there's just pistols on this ship."
"We're an exploratory vessel. We scout out mining sights, places rich in biodiversity. We mark it down and report back with samples. We're equipped to run away or take a hit, not fight back." Invil sighed. "Which is why I want to apologize. Can you accept that?"
David looked up to Sten who seemed more focused on his food. He then leaned to look at Sasha who signed before pointing to her tattoo. "For now, until we figure out what the hell is going on. But I don't want your men to get jumpy so let me just put the cards on the table now."
"Cards?" Invil asked as he tried to look where David would pull cards from, as the man had little more than a pocketless jumpsuit.
"Nevermind. Look, you were worried about the prisoner thing. Let's clear that up. Sasha, Sten, and myself. Yes, we are prisoners. Her government didn't like what she was saying. I... Killed someone in self-defense. Someone who had a lot of power. Sten well... Yeah well Sten is just crazy."
"I was an actual soldier. Did my job well." Sten grinned as another chuckle bubble up, causing some of the crew to step back. "Too well, ha."
"Sten," David chastised him softly. "We are prisoners yes, but it's a long story. We were part of a larger group and wound up separated. Separated by a very long way it seems. We're supposed to be back home, now I don't want violence between you and me. I want peace. Can you take us home?"
"Or anywhere else." Sten murmured, earning a frown from David.
"I... Can't promise that right now. We're under a situation." Invil started. "If you can help us, I don't see why we can't Shepard you home."
Sasha raised a brow and squeezed David's shoulder. "What kind of situation?" David asked not a moment after she did so. The ship suddenly shook as the clanging of metal rang all over.
"We're... Being boarded." Invil replied sheepishly.
Sten bellowed in laughter, "Finally! Some action!"
"And I guess we're supposed to help you?" David raised his brow.
"They're Hvista raiders. They see you as a rivals and want to fight you." Invil sighed, his ears drooping to a defeated position.
"Why do they want to fight us?" Sten asked curiously as he folded his arms.
"I told them you were here... And showed them you're resistance to our railguns." Invil admitted, causing the humans to frown at him. "I admit this only because... If they take this ship they'll kill all of us... If you fight them off, our chances are much better. I swear to you, David, if you and your humans can fight off the Hvista, I will shepard you back wherever." Invil quickly relayed so as to not lose their goodwill.
"Can I kill them now?" Sten questioned, causing a few guns to be drawn and aimed at him. "Oh it would be so easy."
"No." David stated before standing up.
"Boo, you're no fun." Sten grumbled.
"I can't say I'm a fan of you throwing us at your enemy like that, but if they prove hostile to us we'll handle it if we can. If they prove amenable well... I'll take them over the one that shot us." David stood from his chair and looked down at Invil with an annoyed gaze. "Unfucking believable... Give us weapons."
"No offense human but we can't do that." Invil shook his head.
"Are we supposed to beat the scary monsters to death with our fists?" Sten scoffed.
"Are you opposed?" David questioned.
"No, that's why I kept this," Sten reached to the back of his boots, and pulled a rather large knife that had most of the Aporyions shaking, as the size alone was as big as some of their heads.
Sasha rolled her eyes and approached the Captain. A few guns were drawn on her, but she merely stood before him and held out her hand. Tapping it a few times before making another
tch noise, she glared at the Captain fiercely. Invil slowly looked to David. David merely shrugged, "That's her way of saying if you don't put a weapon in her hand, she's going to beat you to death with your own spine."
"You have... A colorful language," Invil gulped before slowly handing over his sidearm.
"S-Sir?" Teema asked.
"Can't say no now," Invil sighed as Sasha examined the piece. With a quick lesson on the weapon, Sasha turned and walked to David's size. She looked up at him with the same apathetic expression from earlier, and signed something. She then moved to tie her fiery locks of red hair behind her, showcasing a number of scars along her cheeks that were once hidden by unkept bangs.
"Agreed. Alright, we'll clean up this mess if they're hostile. Afterwards, we want home. And Captain?" David stated as he pulled up the gun he'd taken from the dead guard.
"Y-Yes?" Invil stuttered.
"You try to fuck with us, and I'll let Sten do to you what got him sent to Deathrow back on earth." With that, David left towards the door with Sasha in tow. Sten grinned ear to ear, before snickering as his gaze went around the room. The doors sealed shut behind them, and Invil gulped.
"Do we... heed the warning?" Another crew member requested.
"At this point... I believe the humans are our best bet. I'm not eager to learn what Deathrow is." Invil nodded. "Continue to scan for Hegemony patrols, in case our humans fail."
As the trio left the bridge, staring down the long hallway ahead of them. They saw at the end came new entities they'd been warned about. The Hvista stood as tall as David and Sten, all held a varying amount of trophies across their bodies. The one with the most, Araxium, stepped forward with a grin. "Humans!" He bellowed as he and his men began to stomp forward. "That is what they call you right?! It is an honor to finally meet a real warrior. Killing an Aporyion in one blow? I am impressed! I hope the data the Aporyions gave my translator is working, I'd hate to not be able to talk!" He shouted, causing Sten to step forward with a grin.
"Oh are you now?!" Sten shouted back as they grew closer. "Not my best work but well, it was fun."
Three of the Hvista paused, tensing up as they gripped their weapons tightly. Unlike the Aporyins, these raiders had brought both blade and railgun rifles with the intent to kill. However, as they paused, an animalistic growl came from Araxium who looked over his shoulder at them. "Whats gotten into you?"
"The eyes... The eyes scream
Makorvo, Hunt-Master." One of the younger looking Hvista said as he tapped his claw against his rifle. "Cursed one."
"Bad omen... Don't like," another Hvista said.
"Ignore these feelings, whether it is sick or not it cannot stand against us.
Raval awaits the brave." He growled before returning his attention to the humans. David, Sten, and Sasha had moved to varying cover, keeping an eye on them from afar.
"Tell me," David started, "The Aporyions say you can't be talked to... They already shot at us so I'm not too keen on experiencing that again. Would you and your people be willing to take us home? We don't have to end in blood shed."
Araxium laughed and shook his head, his flowing mane rattling with the sound of bone charms clanking together. "I cannot. It goes against everything I believe. We have found fellow warriors, I wish to test your strength. Should you defeat us in battle, and one survivors, we will gladly honor your request, as the Code dictates."
"The Code huh? How does that work?" David continued before signing to Sasha. She nodded and began to quietly move farther off to the side.
"My people are not monstrous, human. We abide by the Code. Honor above all else. Through bloodshed we are made whole. I've seen your strength but for a moment, and I wish to experience it first hand. Should you prove worthy, I will honor your request as a fellow warrior." Araxium stated before chuckling. "Who knows, perhaps we will walk away from this as...
Kran," he said before his crew began to laugh alongside him.
"If you want to fight I guess we got no choice... I'm David, Sargent David, UN Prisoner of Battalion 13, leader of squad 7. Whom does my team have the honor of... Fighting?" He asked as he saw Sasha skulking behind them. David wasn't sure how she'd gone unnoticed, but silently thanked that she was on their side.
"David of clan Sargent, it is an honor. I am Araxium, of Clan Orrek. May our fight be worthy of both Your Ancestors and Mine." Araxium grinned.
"Finally," Sten rose from cover and stepped into the open.
"Sten!" David shouted as Sten merely opened his arms, holding up his knife.
"I'm bulletproof! Come at me you cow-" his words were interrupted as a well placed shot to the chest sent Sten flying back nearly ten feet. With a heavy thud, Sten hit the ground, coughing loud as blood escaped his lips.
"Sasha now!" David shouted as he rose from cover. Firing wildly at the enemies who moved to take cover, David kept low and made his way to Sten. Narrowly avoiding several stray shots, David grabbed Sten's shirt and pulled him behind a wall while still firing at the enemy. With luck, he struck a Hvista in the chest, and was nearly frozen in awe as a golf ball sized hall was blown right through the unlucky Raider. "They weren't kidding," he grumbled as he continued to fire from cover, and checked on Sten. "Sten, Sten wake up! Are you alright?!"
Sten groaned and coughed as he sat up. "Y-Yeah, just got... The wind knocked outta me... Did you know those things are bigger than the pistols?"
"You fucking idiot, hurry up I need you in this fight!" David shouted as he continued to fire a few shots before taking cover.
"That'll wake you up, ugh," Sten coughed again before coughing more blood. "I think it broke something."
"I'm going to break you if you don't get in this fight!"
From the opposite side of the ship, Sasha quietly gazed at the backs of the Hvista from her hiding spot. As one on the right slowly was left behind by the others that advanced forward on David, she emerged from hiding with the sidearm she'd been given in hand. Her eyes fell to the curved knife on the Hvista's back. Her speed picked up as she sprinted behind the Hvista. His ears flicked as he tried to turn, not expecting someone that barely reached his chest to be so bold as to charge him. Sasha kicked the back of its right leg, hearing an audible snap that caused the Hvista to howl in pain as it feel to one knee. Sasha grabbed it's knife, leaping onto the creatures back and pulling it back with surprising ease that nearly caught her off guard. Thrusting its own knife into the Hvista's neck she brought up the side arm she'd been given and dumped three shots into the Hvista closest to her. Turning and using the one she held as a meat shield she fired another four shots into the next. The remaining four including Araxium quickly moved to better cover, before half turned their guns on Sasha.
David sprung at the opportunity and opened fire as well.
Araxium merely laughed from cover. "Finally! The Ancestors have blessed us with a real challenge! Kor, Dojek, handle the woman, Barra, you're with me."
Together the hunters spread out to began flanking both Sasha and David in their teams.
As the humans took cover, their guns made audible clicks to show they had nothing left. But not soon after the clicks from the Hvista guns signaled the moment was now. Sasha sprinted from cover with the blue blood covered knife at her two assailants. Both of which happily drew their own knives. Seeing them both charge at once, she glared daggers before throwing the empty pistol at one. Though more of an inconvenience than anything else, it caused the Hvista to hold up its arm to block. Leaving her which just one to deal with. Dropping low and sliding between the other Hvista's legs, she slashed at its right leg, causing it to snarl in pain before it swung around to stab where she was.
Sasha rolled to the side, quickly getting up to her feet before backstepping. The Hvista worked together to slash back and forth, and were relentless. Sasha could only dodge for so long before one finally reached forward and grabbed her by the throat. Choking as she was lifted, the Hvista raised its blade. "The first kill is mine!" It shouted before bringing the knife towards her. Sasha snarled herself and swung her foot forward, striking the Hvista's elbow. It screeched in pain as the bone snapped clean in two, its arm dangling like a limp noodle. The other Hvista would not be dissuaded, as it quickly brought its knife down into Sasha's shoulder and rushed forward to push her back.
The first sound she had made in space, and it was a scream of pain, she growled like a feral beast as the Hvista held her against the wall, driving its serrated blade in deeper. The Hvista growled back before reaching back and drawing another blade. A bellowing warcry caught their attention as Sten came charging from the side, tackling the Hvista and dragging it away. Sasha slumped to the floor, wincing in pain as she held her shoulder. It felt like it was on fire, and she gritted her teeth as she saw the large metal protruding from her shoulder.
Sten dragged the Hvista away before reaching down to its waist. The Hvista repeatedly slammed its fists into Sten's back, causing no shortage of pain. Sten however, fueled by adrenaline, wrapped his arms around the beast and hoisted it into the air. With a rage fueled scream, Sten slammed the Hvista onto the ground, though did not kill it so easily. Quickly climbing ontop of it, he began swinging his fists into its face over and over. Audible snaps and crunches echoed around the hallway as fangs flew from the creatures mouth. It growled, snarled, and swiped at Sten to no avail. It's tail came from behind and tried to impale Sten, but stopped suddenly as something grabbed hold of it. A wounded Sasha screamed in anger as she threw herself on the Hvista's sharpened appendage, holding it down as Sten continued to beat the Hvista to death. A few moments later, and the creatures head was nothing more than mash on the ground. "Thanks little Red." Sten grinned before bringing up his own knife and throwing it towards Sasha.
She paused, shock and fear as the blade came towards her, but turned as it flew by and impaled itself into the head of the other Hvista whose arm she had broken. The creature fell to the ground, dead almost instantly. She turned to Sten, giving him an approving nod.
"Aw, you love me." Sten grinned, causing another irritated
tch to escape from her as she rose up. Her body shook in pain as the knife was still firmly in her shoulder. "Stay down little red, I'll give David some help." Sten said as he pulled his knife from the Hvista and rushed to help. Sten stopped as Sasha grabbed his arm, looking down at her confused. She twitched in pain before gesturing towards the airlock the creatures had boarded from. The sound of heavy footsteps gave Sten pause as he gripped his knife tightly. "Ah... Well, that's a problem."
On the other side, David hadn't faired any better. The first Hvista was easy to take down as it charged wildly towards him. His own knife skills far outclassing the beasts. The fluid movements had seen him using the Hvista's own momentum against it, flipping it over before stabbing it in the throat. In one fluid motion he had regained his footing, slowly trying to circle Araxium. "You are indeed a warrior, David of Clan Sargent."
"It's just David. Sargent is my rank." He said, breathing heavily as hunger still weighed on him. The blue blood of the Hvista covered his weapon as well as himself.
"I must say, I am indeed impressed. Perhaps we can come to an agreement." Araxium grinned before readying his blade. "If you survive."
"If YOU survive," a growl came from down the hall. Araxium and David both looked up to see five more Hvista standing there, two of which held a wounded Sten hostage. Sasha was, however, no where to be seen.
"I killed two of them before they jumped me, ha," Sten said happily before the butt of a railgun slammed into his back, causing him to grunt and fall to his knees.
"Quiet, beast." A Hvista with near golden fur growled before returning to gaze at Araxium. "Look at the mess you've gotten us into, Hunt-Master. They gave us ample warning about these humans in the footage, and you still charged in."
"Kintsu.... I hadn't expected you to actually show up to the battle. Ha, I figured you would've stayed on the ship." Araxium chuckled.
"You got our men killed for no reason." Kintsu growled.
"They died fighting.
Raval awaits them. Unlike you." Araxium spit, causing Kintsu's guards to snarl.
"Yes, yes, of course. If that's what will help you sleep at night. I'm done with this. We have one of them. We will take it back for study. There are new worlds to conquer. New worlds to enslave." Kinstu began, causing David to tense up.
Araxium, to David's surprise, roared. "We do NOT enslave warriors! Only the Servant races. Do you wish to spit on your Ancestors so readily?! Where is your respect for the Code?!"
"Damn you and damn the Code. Do you not see what this means?! A race of warriors no one has yet contacted. If we can make them ours, we would be as great as the Ancestors once were. I am tired... I am tired of this mindless raiding, we could be striking the golden worlds! Instead we are kept to the outskirts like feral animals. I am tired of it. I am tired of living as a shadow of the former Empire." Kintsu spat.
"And I'm tired of your voice." Sten spat before suddenly leaping it and striking Kintsu, breaking away from the guards holding him. Even with his bare fist, a sickening crack from the Hvista's skull as the two left eyes came practically flying out. A sudden shock came as the other guard struck Sten with a baton, causing Sten to audibly gasp before collapsing. Kintsu screamed in pain as the guards aimed their railguns at David and Araxium.
"Get down, David!" Araxium screamed before taking cover nearby. The other Hvista opened fire as they slowly began to advance.
Sten, slowly slipping in and out of consciousness, looked up at Kintsu who held his swollen face. "Sir!" Another Hivsta said as he approached Kintsu. "The Aporyions are attempting to vent the ship. We have to go!"
"Those cowards.... Grab the human, fall back! Everyone fall back!" Kintsu shouted before Sten fell into unconsciousness.
David and Araxium watched as they retreated to their ship, before Araxium looked up at the warning lights suddenly flashing red. "Those cowards!" He roared.
"What's happening?!" David snapped.
"They mean to open all the airlocks and vent the ship. They'll lose everything on board, better alternative than dealing with us." He growled before moving towards the bridge door. Kneeling by a panel, he ripped it off and began to work.
"Us?" David asked as he approached Araxium.
"Would you prefer to keep fighting in the void of space, human?" Araxium asked as he looked back to David.
David shook his head, "I'd prefer to be alive."
"As would I. Now give me a moment."
David turned at the sound of something collapsing and saw Sasha, still with the knife in her shoulder crawling forward. He quickly moved to help her up. Her breathing was shallow, and she winced as he held onto her.
The door to the bridge was flown open, and the three survivors moved in just as it sealed shut behind them. "Goddess, save us!" One of the Aporyions shouted as guns aimed for Araxium.
"If anyone pulls a trigger I'll kill each and every one of you!" David shouted, causing the crew to freeze up.
"Cancel the venting! Cancel it!" Invil shouted, followed by sighing as the emergency lights flickered off.
"I said not to fuck us over," David glared daggers at Invil.
"We had no intention of doing so. You were being overwhelmed. We figured you would've lost so we made sure to protect ourselves. If I wanted to fuck you over I would've welded the doors shut and then vented the ship." He explained before his eyes trailed over to the Hvista. "But it seems it doesn't matter, now that this demon is here."
"Demon, ha, ironic coming from an Aporyion. Oh the words I could use to describe you and your Morrowav overlords. Each one less flattering than the last." Araxium growled.
"Enough!" David shouted. "Someone help my friend here or so help me I'll start killing everyone." David snapped.
After a moment of silence, Araxium moved into action. "Lay her here on the table," he said while sweeping away equipment, scaring off the Aporyion crew members that manned it. "The blade will need to be removed, it will not be pleasant."
"You're a doctor?" David raised his brow as he laid Sasha down.
"No. I'm a survivor." Araxium chuckled as he reached into a satchel on his right flank. The Aporyions nervously watched as he produced a few medical tools fit for the field.
"Good enough." David nodded as he moved to Sasha's side. "Anything else hurt?" He asked. She shook her head and David breathed a sigh of relief. "Ok... Let's get you patched up." He tried to move to help, but stopped as Sasha grabbed his arm. She signed slowly, causing David to look back at the door. "I don't know... They took him."
Sasha slowly nodded and looked to the ceiling. Araxium held a piece of blackened wood up to her face. "Chew on this. It will help." He offered. She hesitated at first, but obeyed, biting down on it.
"What is that gonna help with?" David inquired.
"This," Araxium grabbed the knife and ripped it out, causing Sasha to suddenly thrash and slam a fist into the table. She screamed as he moved to inject some sort of foam into her wound. The pain slowly subsided and she dropped the blackened wood from her mouth. "Our medicine is not as fancy as Aporyions, but it will stop the bleeding.
"Wait a minute what will it do to her?!" David shouted as he suddenly looked to ensure she wasn't reacting to it abnormally.
"The alternative was bleeding out. Our blades are designed to rip and tear. Would that be preferred?" Araxium folded his arms as Sasha's breathing slowed.
"Next time warn me before-"
"It's fine," A soft feminine voice came from the table with a thick eastern European accent. David looked down to Sasha's hollow eyes as she gazed up at him. She turned to Araxium and nodded. "Thank you... The pain... Is leaving."
"You are welcome." Araxium nodded before turning to Invil. "Now... What to do with you." He grinned, but suddenly perked up as alarm bells began to go off.
"Captain! We're being targeted!" A crew member shouted.
"Get us out of here! Warp to the nearest system!" Invil shouted. His eyes gazed up at the viewport to see the Hvista ship firing its first salvo.

2023.03.30 18:15 SkunkyMustard Need Advice On Homebewed Projectiles
I've got a player in my game currently playing a level 5 alchemist artificer. Despite being an alchemist, they really want to lean into crafting too. The player is wanting to integrate some exploding projectiles into their arsenal. They found some homebrew options online as well as some ideas of their own and sent them to me, but much of it seemed pretty overpowered.
So I sat down with the ideas and made some modifications. I was curious if some other DMs could weigh in on these. Mostly I want to give my player what they're wanting without creating an OP mess that will impact the game too dramatically. I tried to do this by making these only useable by an artificer (so these can't be passed out to the whole party), making them all either low damage (since they are AoE's) or just status effects, and making them roughly the cost of common to uncommon potions/magic items.
Please let me know if you see any glaring issues with these or if you know of a better resource or existing homebrew for something like this. Thanks!
(If this helps, we're playing Strixhaven Curriculum of Chaos and the character is in Prismari. Because of this, we tried to lean in a bit on more flashy, mostly elemental-based effects.)
MAGICAL EXPLOSIVES
Magical explosives are tiny constructed objects that have the thrown property with a range of up to 30 ft. All explosives must target a surface, and only an artificer can activate the explosive.
When activated and thrown by an artificer as an Action, the explosive impacts with the surface it was thrown against and detonates immediately.
Concussion Grenade Projectile, uncommon Impact Radius: 10 ft. Cost/Time to Create: 200 gp / 1 workweek
This magical explosive emits a sonic boom that can be heard up to 300ft away. Any creature within the blast radius must make a Strength saving throw against the artificer's spell save DC, getting knocked prone and taking 2d6 thunder damage on a failure. On a success a creature takes half damage and is not knocked prone.
Lightning In A Bottle Projectile, uncommon Impact Radius: 10 ft. Cost/Time to Create: 200 gp / 1 workweek This battery-like device holds a large electric charge that explodes out in massive arcs of lightning. Any creature in the blast radius must make a Dexterity saving throw against the artificer's spell save DC or else take 2d6 lightning damage. For each affected creature, the lightning can jump to up to one additional creature outside of the blast radius that is also within 10 ft of the affected creature. The second creature takes lightning damage equal to half the damage inflicted on the first creature, rounded down. On a success, creatures take half damage and do not cause the effect to spread.
Alchemist's Molotov Projectile, uncommon Impact Radius: 10 ft. Cost/Time to Create: 200 gp / 1 workweek This device is full of a Alchenist's Fire, a sticky adhesive fluid that ignites when exposed to air. The 5 ft. surface at the point of impact catches fire for 1 minute or until a someone uses their action to put it out. All creatures in full blast radius must make a Dexterity saving throw against the artificer's spell save DC or else also catch fire, taking 1d4 fire damage at the start of each of their turns. On a success, creatures are unaffected. The fire ignites flammable objects in the area that aren't being carried. A creature can use their Action to make a DC 10 Dexterity check to extinguish the flames from themself or another creature. Smoke Bomb Projectile, common Impact Radius: 15 ft. Cost/Time to Create: 50 gp / 1 workday On detonation, a heavy smoke the color of the artificer's choice is released, filling the blast radius and making the region heavily obscured. In addition, any creature that begins its turn within the smoke must make a Constitution saving throw against the artificer's spell save DC or else become poisoned for up to 1 minute. A creature poisoned this way can repeat the Constitution saving throw again at the end of their next turn. A creature that does not need to breathe, is immune to the poisoned condition, or succeeds on their saving throw is unaffected by the smoke's poison effect. The smoke persists for 1 minute or until a strong wind disperses it.
Flashbang Projectile, common Impact Radius: 5 ft. Cost/Time to Create: 50 gp / 1 workday
When this device detonates, it emits a bright light and an loud crack that can be heard up to 300 ft away. All creatures within the blast radius must make a Constitution saving throw against the artificer's spell save DC or be blinded until the end of your next turn. In addition, if the creature fails their save by 5 or more, they are also deafened for the duration. On a success, creatures are unaffected.
Glitter Bomb Projectile, common Impact Radius: 15 ft. Cost/Time to Create: 50 gp / 1 workday
This device explodes in a harmless but powerful shower of magical glitter that covers all creatures and surfaces within the blast radius. Unless magically removed, the bulk of the glitter cannot be removed till the target spends 1 hour washing it off. When an affected creature uses their movement, they leave behind a shimmering trail of footprints as well as a trail of floating glitter for up to 100 feet behind them. This trail disappears after 1 round but new trails continue to be made every time the creatures moves until they are no longer affected by the glitter.

2023.03.30 18:14 JayVig From good to bad to worse
I’m 44 years old. I’ve never been lonely like this before. Always had friends. 10 years in the military so I’ve always had a group. In 2013 i moved home after my enlistment. Moved in with a girlfriend and we got married in 2015. Had a kid a year later. Had an amazing job with people I liked. Traveled for work and pleasure.
2020 came and brought covid and it’s all been unraveling since.
April 2020 - laid off. September 2020 - new job but WFH August 2021 - separated from my wife and then divorce. August 2022 - laid off thanks to tech downturn and still laid off.
I live alone 50% of the time. The other half I have my son but he’s in school most of the day. No coworkers. Stay home a lot to conserve cash (been living off saving for 8 months).
I binge watch a ton of stuff and try to work on home projects in between applications and interviews.
I just wish I had a person in my life. Someone to hang out with - watch tv, make food, play games, have a drink, smoke a joint, etc. I need the presence of someone I can talk to and trust. And I’d do just about anything for a hug just to feel the caring from another human.
It’s really exhausting trying to feel better a little at a time. How does a single dad that’s temporarily out of work make friends or find a ride or die?

2023.03.30 18:06 MyNameMcjeff I despise when game devs add new content to a finished game.
For awhile now I've been trying to 100% a lot of steam library and I keep running into this problem where I buy a finished product play it to competition after a lot of work then uninstall it after a good time only for someone to go "hey this game needs more stuff in it!" and then I lose my 100% stat and either have to do the game again or just give it up and scratch it off the list. Why can't a finished good game just be a finished good game? My breaking point today was a game that came out in 2019 that decided to 4 years later add 20 new achievements Why?

2023.03.30 18:02 one-last-shell Quitting from the current institute
Wanted to tag it as vent as well…
Edit: I’m in Europe and I’m on a contract.
Anyway, I’m quitting from my current institute. I plan to join another group at another institute where I can work on better projects. It’s incredibly relieving once I made up my mind about it, but there’s still one thing that worries me: how do I talk to my current supervisor and the director of the department (whose fund pays for my salary)? What’s the usual procedure for quitting a PhD?
At this point I don’t care what my current supervisor thinks, but I don’t want to piss off the director coz’ he’s very influential and can easily kill one’s career. Anyone been through the same situation? Thanks in advance for any input.
Now it’s the (very long) venting part. There are two reasons that I want to leave:
- We’ve been working on two projects and the experience sucked.
The first project was actually on a quite interesting topic. It was a long standing open problem that’s received a lot of attention recently and led to numerous (say, > 20) top papers in under 5 years. The problem is, all the recent advancements came from a handful of very well known researchers and their students. The last time that my supervisor published anything in this field was almost 10 years ago, and he has even less knowledge in these new technique than me. Somehow he thinks we could beat these well known researcher and get a good result. Fine. I tried for about half a year but got no concrete improvement over the current results, while he provided next to zero inputs except for some unrealistic ideas that sounds like something a first year bachelor student would suggest. In the end, a group of researchers published an astonishing paper and resolved the whole problem, and not surprisingly, comparing to their incredibly complicated approach, we were heading into the wrong direction.
Not a big deal, it was probably because I’m not smart enough, I told myself. Then my super asked me to join another on-going project. This is in one of the field where he is an “expert”, and published some papers. Those papers are mediocre, but are about the only papers that were written in this field in the past 10 years because it’s a very niche (and useless) topic. I didn’t want to work on it, but after wasting 6 months on something unsuccessful, what other choice do I have? My supervisor and two other collaborators ran into some theoretical problems which they claim can be resolved, based on experimental evaluations. So I worked very hard on the theoretical problem and got some results. We ended up submitting a paper together. But guess what, a reviewer pointed out that this niche theory that he asked me to build is not innovative at all, it’s just an incremental improvement over something 50 years ago (but my supervisor had no knowledge about it at all!), and people abandoned this whole direction because they thought it won’t lead to meaning results. I was instantly demotivated and wanted to ditch the project. But my supervisor insisted that there’s still hope in salvaging the project. He acknowledged that improving the theory part is indeed quite impossible, given that no one could in 50 years. But he insisted on me doing more experimental evaluations to turn the paper into a purely experimental paper. I have no interests in those experimental crap, especially when the results show that it’s utterly impractical. However, seeing that I have spent quite some time on it, and thinking that I just cannot finish my first year in PhD with no real results, I agreed to investigate the experimental part. This is when I found out that the data that I took over from my supervisor’s collaborator is very poorly analyzed (to say the least) and what we thought could work was just wrong. I don’t want to accuse anyone of misconduct, but it’s clear that these experimental results should not be published. This is the final blow. I’m just completely demotivated and don’t want to think about this project anymore. My supervisor, on the other hand, still think that I should just somehow tweak the experiments to fix it. I just feel sick about it, and I don’t want to be anywhere near this mess anymore. This is one of the decisive factor for me to consider quitting.
- Besides those struggles in research, not so long ago, I found out that my supervisor is leaving the institute in under a year, because he can’t get tenured here. In hindsight, I think the reason that he wanted me to work on the first project was that he hoped that I could produce some big results and help him get more leverage in negotiating a tenured position. Well, it didn’t work.
I only found out the fact that he is leaving because a friend who has been at the institute for a long time heard about it. I talked to our director about it, and his response is that I should become independent by the time that my supervisor leaves and mentioned nothing about who might take over me (except for saying that no one else in my department is interested in my field). My supervisor only confirmed that he’s leaving when I confronted him about it, and said that it happens a lot at our institute and i should be able to do research and get outside collaborations on my own by then. I was speechless.
Anyhow, in the end I decided that staying at my current institute would be a waste of time and I started looking for possible opportunities. Now I have secured an offer from another institute (and they know about my situation very well). My only problem now is: how do I quit from my current institute?

2023.03.30 18:00 RangerFrank Deathworld Commando: Reborn-Vol.6 SS- A King's Guarantee. Part.2
CoverVol.1PreviousNext
MapsWiki+DiscordRoyal RoadWebNovelTapasKo-FiFandom/wiki This is Part.2, please read Part.1 here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Tell me, Bishop, why are you suddenly interested in all of this? Why is Cerila here lying in bed?” I asked.
“Kaladin asked me to help her reach the level of a War God. I was testing her when I started to piece things together. But a deaf Beastmen woman trained by a Grandmaster light mage straight from the Holy Kingdom…things are starting to make sense,” Bishop said more to himself than me.
So he knocked her out…this man…what if he angered Kaladin? Ah, I suppose Kaladin isn’t so close-minded…hopefully. He turned his intense eyes to me. “I request your help, old friend. I ask that you train Cerila on your own time. Her magic is amazing, and she is quite creative. I believe she can learn a thing or two from you. I would also request that Jessica, if she is feeling better, speak with Cerila as well. After that, I shall make moves on my own.”
I see. This is Bishop speaking to me, not King Maxwell. He must be earnest now if he is asking for my wife and me. It’s not every day I see this side of him. I raised an eyebrow at him. “You are awfully adamant about this. Can I ask you why?”
The king smirked slightly, but his eyes were smiling a great deal. “It’s rather simple. I owe Kaladin a lot as a father and a man. He saved my family and my daughters not once but twice. I need to fulfill the first quest he’s given me, or I’ll never be able to rest easy. Helping him from the shadows can only accomplish so much and doing it alone would be a waste. I must guarantee her success.”
I shook my head. Sometimes I even forgot Bishop’s true nature. The man wasn’t just a genius on the battlefield but off of it as well. He hid behind this persona of being a meathead despite being a calm and collected person. After all, history may see that his wife was the one that spurred him into her plans, but it was actually the other way around.
Queen Maxwell was undoubtedly intelligent and crafty, but Bishop’s skills and natural charisma changed the minds of the people, nobles, and generals alike. He was the one that led the army into the city for an ambush and quickly surpassed the Brax nobility. He even lurked in the shadows, hiding behind the visage of his wife to complete his goals.
The man is quite cunning. And far from the babbling idiot, he portrays himself to be sometimes. “And besides, I’m quite interested in this woman now,” Bishop added.
“I think she should be afraid, but I’ll agree to help. Jessica is another matter. I don’t see her being ready for anything physical for some time,” I told him.
Bishop nodded. “I understand, but I don’t need her physical prowess this time around. I’m hoping for Jessica to accomplish something only a woman can do. It will take some time, I imagine. How is she these days? I haven’t spoken to her in some time.”
I just chuckled. “You know how it is. She is getting more ravenous by the day. Trying to eat for two is quite taxing.”
“Isn't that the truth? They get so moody as well,” the king muttered.
Huh? Why did you phrase it like that? My eyes widened as I looked at him. “Wait, don’t tell me!”
Bishop just smiled at me once more and put a finger to his lips.

Good day everyone. I hope you have all had a wonderful week. I've very much enjoyed my break, but I'm already ready to get back into the swing of things. And we are going to start a bit early with Vol.6 recap :D
To start, thanks to those of you who took the to fill out the survey in a meaningful way. I'm happy to say that 99% of the people that filled out the survey did so with good intentions. Also, the information I got from it was beneficial, and everything is on the up and up.(Regarding Ko-Fi and general operations)
As for that 1%...well, you probably know who you are and what you did. It would have been best if you perhaps at least waited for more people to fill it out not to make it so obvious :)
Also, huge thanks to uncannybook581 for helping me compile all the data into more digestible information.
So let's get into it?
---------------------------------
General Story-
https://i.imgur.com/7ZCMLtP.png Here is the first bit of general story stuff. Things are somewhat balanced for the most part. Vol.6 was full of significant events, so there was a lot to choose from.
Also, the average for Vol.6 on a scale from 1-10 was a nine, so Vol.6 was well received overall, according to the survey.
Personally, I think this split is pretty good, and it's what I wanted. Obviously, the more significant events got more votes, but that's to be expected, but it's good to see that the more minor events were enjoyed as well. Also, the primary genre for this volume was "Drama," which probably also played a part.
---------------------------------
General Kal info-
https://i.imgur.com/AZGeH1b.png https://i.imgur.com/Tf2BrMZ.png Let's get into Kaladin some more.
Overall, people are enjoying Kal's progress and the way he is going emotionally. Two hundred fourteen of you who responded believe that Kal should remain the same, while the other 21% want him to use the fame just a bit more. Which is good for me because I agree wholeheartedly with that outcome.
Kal's character isn't the type to want riches and fame. It was never his goal nor a desire for him. I think if Kal started unnecessarily swinging his weight around for minor reasons, that would reflect poorly on the character I've created.
Don't get me wrong that doesn't mean he won't ever use his fame because that would be just as dumb. But, when the time comes, and the situation is appropriate, Kal won't be afraid to utilize that newfound fame/powerank, I promise.
Also,
https://i.imgur.com/L9GS6af.png = Vol.6
https://i.imgur.com/evynrBo.png = Vol.3
I thought this was a fun tidbit. I asked this question oh so long ago after Vol.3, and it brings a smile to my face to see things are still going in the right direction.
---------------------------------
Kal Power Level-
So, it appears that many of you want to see a more powerful Kaladin. And I can understand that.
Kal is in a weird spot right now. He's stronger than most of the people around him in a one-on-one fight to the death, but those who are in the top percent of the world's power are still giving him a hard time.
I like it. I know that might not be the answer you are looking for, but Kal's strength has come a long way from the kid who passed out just making a small gust of wind behind his house. Also, I don't see myself giving Kal too many schools of magic. He's already at a high number for this world, and he has hardly mastered what he has. So giving him more right now would be too much.
Also, giving him some arbitrary power boost isn't in the cards. To be honest, I think the only "plotty" power I gave him was the Dragon eye, and that probably wouldn't help in a life-or-death fight against, say, King Maxwell.
We also have yet to see Kal fully go out against a powerful humanoid who is in that top-tier strength of the world. Sure, he's sparred with his dad, Cerila, Syvlia, and Professor Garrison, but there is a huge difference between a spar and an actual fight. In all those fights, Kal never had the intention to kill his opponent, which is a massive difference and can easily skew results, as it should, in my opinion.
I've been pretty consistent on Kal's stronger magic being dangerous not only to his enemies but to him, after all. It wouldn't make much sense for him to go around and start plasma bolting Cerila in a duel just because he wanted to win, now would it?
Although I hope you don't think that will be the case forever. Things would be boring if Kal never fought a strong enemy of that caliber. So we will be seeing something soonish in the story. Also, we are going to soldify the powerscale for the most part in Vol.7.
Also, things would be boring if Kal just stayed where he was, never able to deal with some of these severe threats himself. We will see some training and development on multiple fronts (magic/equipment) in making Kaladin "stronger." And we are going to see that in Vol.7.
Will he achieve the Dragon Emperor level of power that many of you wanted? Who knows :) I guess we will have to read and find out.
This brings me to a question some of you asked, "Why does Kal's power level seem to be all over the place." And the answer is, "What were his intentions and the circumstances of him going into the fight?"
If he was fighting, say, Tsarra, he's not going to drop blue plasma fire on her head and attempt to kill her. Nor is he going to engage in that brutal close-quarters combat and break her bones (Unless that was the goal of the fight, which would be weird). Kal going into a spar with Tsasrra should be different than Kal going into battle with The Chapter of Despair. The motives are different, and so should the outcome.
It's the reason he lost to Cerila for the first time. He went into the battle nonchalantly, with no intentions of taking it seriously. And in return, he lost(Although there was more to that, to be fair.)
Same with Sylvia and the fight at the ranch. They both got heated, the goal shifted, Kal got too serious, and he put Sylvia in a bad position. The goal changed briefly, and so did the outcome.
---------------------------------
Kal Politics/Luminar-
https://i.imgur.com/VPDr45j.png And now, onto this part. This was also interesting, especially the second question, since for a long time, it was deadlocked at 50-50. Like, actually, at 50-50 even with 200+ responses.
But, judging by the third question, most of you want him to interject somewhat into Luminar's politics, even if it is just a little bit.
In the coming chapters and volumes, if this survey is to go off of anything, I think most of you will be happy about the future of Kal's involvement with Luminar and its politics.
There will be a little of that in Vol.7, but we can look forward to it later on. After all, we have 3 siblings who can take the throne. Kal's gotta handle that somehow :)
---------------------------------
Kal & Mila-
https://i.imgur.com/GC14JUE.png This one surprised me a bit. I would have thought that many of you would have wanted to keep Mila out of the fight. Although thinking about it, I did put in "protect herself" which is an obvious want.
Of course, Kaladin would want Mila to be able to protect herself. That has been drilled into Kaladin for a long time. Even his parents were like that, so it makes sense that he would want to do the same.
But I also feel that he would be hesitant at the same time, even if it were slightly illogical...huh...
Well, I suppose we will have to wait and see. She is a bit too young to be training so hard anyway.
And for the 12 who strongly dislike Mila, you truly are the worst :'( How could you hate this face? What's wrong with you, huh? You probably kick kittens or something, you psycho.
https://i.imgur.com/RI6wkHZ.png ---------------------------------
Kal & His Past
https://i.imgur.com/2A6s2VH.png So, we are mostly in agreement on this section. I also think Kal's reveal to Sylvia was important and a good thing that needed to happen. It did a lot for both of them and their relationship, which was the goal.
As for the reveal of his past to more people and the open responses, most of you wanted something along the lines of "some event needs to happen for him to share more." What those events were depended on the response, but it boiled down to much the same thing.
And I agree. I think Kal going off and telling people about his past for no good reason would probably be a net negative thing overall. Some external factors or forces would have to make him do so.
And that is also in regard to his parents.
I think him telling Sylvia versus him telling his parents are similar yet vastly different things. I mean, look at it this way.
The relationship someone has with their mother or father is entirely different from their spouse, right? Sure, there are overlapping things like love, being a family, seeing them succeed in life, and wanting to be with them, amongst other things, but the things a mother does for a son or daughter are different from what a husband would do for a wife.
Just imagine if the child who was your pride and joy, the little creature that you thought was half of you with the love of your life, and the little monster that you changed its poopy pants for years turned out to be a grown man—a killing machine from another world at that who lived an entirely different life before coming out of you.
I think that revelation of that fact would be different for a mother or father than, say, a girlfriend or boyfriend. And the ramifications would also be different. So I think Kal should be 10x more afraid to tell his mother about his past than Cerila.
At least, in my opinion, that is. What happens in the story remains to be seen.
---------------------------------
Kal, Love, Relationships, & Harems-
The section I'm sure many of you have been waiting for. This is probably going to take a while, and I hope that I can call my points across. I've been going over this section and my eventual response in my head for weeks... let's just hope it writes out as good or better than what I've been thinking.
https://i.imgur.com/iGQ29ql.png \Throw out any idea of forcing someone into a relationship for this section—no slave harems or making people do anything against their will. That's an entirely different subject matter and has nothing to do with what I am writing or will write.*
So, I got a question in the Q&A section I thought I would start with. "What makes a harem, a harem to you?"
I am of the orange response, mostly. I don't believe that a small group of people entering into a mutual relationship is automatically a harem. Multiple people vying for one person's affection also does not equal a harem in my eyes. Not all polyamorous relationships are a harem.
Basically, I only used harem because it is the most frequently used term to describe something like this. Although, I believe that term to be wrong in most cases and only really applies to anime esq harems that are over the top.
And before we delve deeper, I want to thank all of you who came into these questions to actually give me proper feedback, constructive criticism, and advice.
Those of you who did so, even if you believe this to be a personal negative aspect of the story or don't care either way, are fantastic people. Thanks for putting the time into some of those open responses. And to those of you who just left one-word sentences or some gibberish in the open responses, you missed the point and the opportunity.
And to those of you specifically who are sending me meaningless threats of "I'll leave or drop the story if you do XYZ" with no actual substance, I find you to be obnoxious. Please slither back into whatever dark hole you crawled out from. Your opinions mean nothing to me, and they won't sway my vision of this story in the slightest. If I had given in to people like you, I would have stopped writing this story in Vol.2.
This is my story. It always has been and always will be. So I'll tell it how I want to. Now... let's talk about it.
https://i.imgur.com/aVUjXVV.png According to the survey, things mainly seemed split. 99, no, 73, yes, and 106, no opinon. Now, depending on what side of the fence you sit on, you might think that 106 no opinion is more toward your side. But it seems a lot of those 106 people left similar responses in the open section (I think). I'm choosing to think of those 106 no opinions as "Certain things need to happen, and they need to happen well," instead of, "I don't care at all."
A lot of your concerns were the same,
"Sylvia wouldn't allow it." "Cerila and Sylvia do not mesh at all right now. Them being romantic together makes no sense." "A group of women "fighting" over one character is bad." "As the characters are, them all entering a relationship together makes no sense." "The partners should all be equally considered and not just be shallow prizes for Kaladin." "Things should be thought out and developed." "It needs proper build-up and a real connection between the different characters." "They should behave like ordinary people and make realistic choices." "Kaladin is currently not fit to have dozens of women in a harem." "Having an obscene amount of partners in a relationship is typically bad and becomes cumbersome in the story. Diverting attention from what matters as it tries to get all the "partners" a piece." Although these are primarily boiled-down versions of your responses, you get the gist.
And to these concerns/remarks, I wholeheartedly agree with you, 100%. These are spot on and how I also feel, and I recognize all of this. For those of you who said it was "impossible regardless" or "is too much of a suspension of disbelief," I disagree. Is a polyamorous relationship less likely to succeed than a monogamous one? Yeah, most definitely. Not that monogamous marriage is all that successful and the end all be all in the first place, but I do recognize these things. I also don't think it requires any more suspension of disbelief than is what is needed to believe in a reborn supersoldier in a fantasy world as an elf that slays dragons.
But hey, that's my humble opinion.
Anyway, to those above concerns, I once again agree. As things are now, Sylvia and "insert any character" would never be able to enter a relationship together with Kaladin as a package. If I forced it, it would be disingenuous to the characters I created and would be wrong. And there is no reason to pretend otherwise,
Sylvia is the number 1 candidate to be with Kaladin right now.
It would also be just as bad if Kaladin suddenly flipped the story on its head and started telling Sylvia to allow him to have a bunch of women or even to begin seeking out other women under Sylvia's nose or directly in her face. That's not Kaladin. That's not the character I created, so it won't be like that in this story.
Regardless, instead of telling you what I'm going to do. Let me tell you what I'm not going to do.
As I've said before, Kaladin is not going to suddenly become a playboy and start collecting women just because they showed interest in him. It took him this long to openly and purposely flirt with Sylvia in chapter 150, and it was the equivalent of "You as pretty as da moon." For him to go from that to banging any woman that showed interest in him would be wild, and it won't be happening, ever.
I said this once before, truly loving Kaladin should be hard. Sure, on the outside, being interested in Kaladin makes complete sense. He has money, power, prestige, a pedigree, looks, and a decent enough personality to tie it all together loosely. However, genuinely loving him would be challenging the second you peer through his cracks and see him for who he really is.
Just look at what happened to Ren. I'd say her feelings got crushed the second she saw him for who he was underneath the mask (literally, heh). Even if they did bounce back, saying they were the same as before would be hard.
Also, for example, Sylvia and Cerila having a single heart-to-heart conversation and just being like, "Oh yeah, I guess this is okay. Let's do it." Won't be happening. If it were to happen, far more things would have to go down in the story. And that includes any character being with Kaladin.
My track record of deep emotional issues in this story has been relatively successful, or so I think. I don't think I've done any character injustice so far regarding a serious "Drama" orientated matter. Things have been slow, and I've built a solid, somewhat realistic foundation for many of these characters, and I have 0 intentions of breaking them now. Just look at Kaladin. If a small half-assed conversation were enough to set him right, things would have been over a long time ago, right?
Basically, what I'm saying is, trust me and the process. I don't think I've let you down yet, and I don't intend to do so ever.
Also, for those of you who left questions about the current stance on Kal's relationship with Sylvia, I thought I gave a pretty good indicator in chapter 150. But maybe I missed the mark?
What I thought I did was Kal set a wall in front of Cerila with conditions for both of them that needed to be met to move forward in any capacity. Many of those conditions were realistic, would be challenging to accomplish, and there were no hollow guarantees of some fantasy outcome. That Kal openly accepted his feelings for Sylvia and will be progressing forward, even if it's awkward and a bit slow.
That's what I thought I did, but once again, maybe I missed that mark for some of you. Either way, you will see a marked difference in their relationship in Vol. 7, a big enough difference to go, "Oh, I see things really are changing."
https://i.imgur.com/cEwK5uM.png As for anyone else, we will have to wait and see how things develop.
Whew, hopefully, I got everything. Now that that is done, let me give a few more quick reminders.
Graphic, written out in detail, sex in this story won't be happening ever, no exceptions. Things, if/when they ever do occur, will be fade to black 100% of the time.
Basically, what you are going to get is what you've got now. At this point, thinly/scantly dressed characters or omissions to an appearance of a character in that kind of situation are as spicy as it gets.
Also, just because Vol.5/6 had lots of romance and drama doesn't mean that every single volume is going to be like this. I've got a lot in the tank, and that being the focus 24/7 isn't the goal. Although, don't get me wrong, Drama was always a primary genre of this story, and it won't be going anywhere.

Volume 7 & The Story-
https://i.imgur.com/9tEUnjo.png So, yeah, Vol.7 is gonna be fun, hopefully. Action is coming and all that :) But we have to get there first, so there is some usual volume build-up, but I swear it will be worth it! And the fighting tournament should be fun with a bit of...well, yeah. No spoilers for that.
Honestly, the best way to look at the story right now is to think of Vol.6 as the end of the story's first half. And maybe seeing chapters like 143ish as the new prologue.
So that leads me to some Q&A questions I got regarding the story-
Q: How long is this story?
A: We are halfway through it.
Q: So does that mean there are 6 or 7 more volumes left?
A: I honestly have no idea. I know that sounds dumb, but it's the truth. There was a point in my head that I thought Volume 4&5 was the same volume. So telling you that there is going to be "x amount of volumes" at this point would be a lie because I don't know how long it's going to take me to get to the end.
Q: Is there an end to this story? To Kaladin's journey?
A: Yes, 100% there is an end, and I will make it come to life even if everyone leaves me. This story will not last forever or for ten thousand chapters. This will also not be an open-ended ending either because I'm not too fond of those in 99% of cases.
Q: Why don't you know about your own ending? Why can't you give us a guess?
A: Because if I give you a guess and I'm under, you will be disappointed for no reason. And if I overestimate, you might think things are going on too long. So I hope you know that I have the destinations for this story in my head. I'm just writing the journey :)
Q: Will we see Squeaks again?
A: Yes, in this volume, actually :) (Only spoiler you are getting from me)
Oh, and here is Vol.7's cover

What I've Been Up To & The Future Plans.
Keep this section rather short, hopefully.
One, I thank all of you who are concerned about my health. I know recently I've been saying I've been going to the doctor a lot lately, but I swear nothing is going on.
I'm in good health and just went over my biannual blood results—nothing of note or to be concerned of. I got glasses for driving at night and for far distances. That's a recent problem, I guess. But that's all my fault since I spend most of my life watching a screen. My up-close vison is still amazing and doesn't affect my writing at all.
As for the plans, I wanted to let you know about some behind-the-scenes things.
For one, I'm looking for a professional developmental editor(Whole nine yards of editing, not just a line editor), so if anyone out there knows one or is one, hit me up.
Before I think about getting a webcomic going up, I decided to solidify Volume 1's content and get it fully edited and published because it makes no sense to adapt a comic on content that isn't finalized.
And yes, I do plan on going back to all the old volumes and doing just that. Add more content/chapters, get artwork, and all that jazz.
Also, if you are or know a voice actonarrator and are interested in doing an audiobook, also hit me up.
I have some plans for all this. I think I'm going to go through with it in the summer. Things are looking good, and I'm looking forward to it.
Also, the second story... I've been slacking on this a bit. I intended to finish it last month, but things happened...oops.
As of writing this, I'm 75% done with both of the starts, and I'm almost ready to get people to pre-read them. We shall see how that goes.
I also figured I would give a notice of some breaks I'll be taking in the coming months, especially during summer. I'll be taking about a week off in June and maybe 1-2 weeks off in July. So I figured I would just warn you now and remind you again when it comes around.

2023.03.30 17:56 ToothsomePony Recovering dash cam footage from yesterday for small collision?
I just picked up my M3P yesterday. On the way home, a car rolled into me at a light (I tried to back up and kind of froze, still getting used to the new shifter system). It caused the smallest of scratches.
I had sentry edit (red light on dash, not sentry) mode turned on, but when I go to dashcam footage it says no footage is stored. In settings I see there is a way to activate it with a honk of the horn - that was off.
Is there any way to recover this footage or does it not get stored unless there is serious collision/horn honk?
Pretty sure I already know the answer.
Thanks

2023.03.30 17:54 shaynawill Currently co-own a vehicle with my ex and I want out of it
As the title says.
I (F33) and my former partner of 12 years (M37) co-signed on an overpriced used, 2 year old Chevy Silverado back in 2018. At the time, we had been together for 8 years, had lived together for 3 years, and had no other financial ties (we split bills and rent 50/50). My ex had an older Silverado at the beginning of our relationship, it bit the dust, he bought a nice 2014 Jeep that was perfectly priced and when it was time for me to get a new car, we decided I would take the Jeep (in his name) and together, we would get him a nicer, newer Silverado.
He had been working very hard and definitely deserved it so I had no problems at all agreeing to help in whatever way I could. At this time, we had no relationship or financial issues that weren't manageable. We had spent two days at the dealership kind of getting dicked around a little bit and it seemed that no matter how much more money we agreed to put down on the damn thing, it never lessened the payments. Even after $4k, the least amount on a monthly payment we could get it for was $640 which is just... so cringey and stupid of us. We were exhausted, he had searched forever for THIS TRUCK, we could not bring ourselves to spend another 5 hour evening looking at numbers and we eventually just agreed and proceeded. It sucked to have a payment that high but we didn't have any issues making it work until later down the line.
Cut to: COVID in 2020, the loan company agreed to waive all payments (for everyone who had a loan through them) for seriously, like 6 or 7 months. It was insane and at the time, very helpful. My ex had been laid off for most of the year and I was footing the bill for everything on my own. We were again, making it work just fine AT THAT TIME. I repeatedly kept reminding him that eventually, these unpaid months were going to catch up to us later down the line and he refused to accept it. He is definitely one of those people that thinks situations like this are "free money" and doesn't understand that it's just tacked on to the principle balance of the loan. He is smart in so many ways but so stupid this way. I digress.
By the beginning of 2022, our relationship was really taking a nosedive. Between drinking problems, emotional issues and financial issues, we were barely hanging on. His dad died in April, he went to rehab in May, we split in July and he eventually lost his job. Of course, during his complete and utter mental breakdown, he DEMANDED on taking the Jeep back from me and ALSO demanded on keeping the truck. I had no issues giving the Jeep up because it was in his name but I tried over and over to get him to sell this damn truck and he refused. I can do nothing without him and he refuses to work with me on anything.
Here is my issue:
At this rate, the Jeep is almost paid off and with anything that he got from selling the truck, he could 100% pay it off PLUS some. OR he could sell the Jeep and put the remainder toward the truck, get my name off of it and probably, get a lower monthly payment.
He is currently driving both vehicles and sometimes defaults on the truck which of course, I end up getting collections calls about. Eventually, he gets caught back up for a few months but inevitably, defaults again. I currently have three missed calls from the loan company requesting a past due payment. I don't know what to do anymore. I have nothing to do with this vehicle other than the fact that 5 years ago, I stupidly signed off on it. It's not at my home, I don't drive it, I can't get him to agree to sell it and I am backed so far into this stupid corner, I can't see straight anymore.
Do I have a leg to stand on ANYWHERE here or am I at the mercy of this problem until we either get it repossessed or it gets paid off? I completely understand the ramifications of co-signing like this but there was no way for me to know that this was going to be the end result of the ordeal. I just want out of this not only for financial reasons, but also so I don't have to spend the next 3-4 years of him having me in a complete financial chokehold. I'm paying off a few small debts before I move forward with purchasing the home I've been renting for 8 years and this constantly bites me in the ass.
Please help.

2023.03.30 17:50 StuckInsideYourWalls A former business lied on my RoE concerning reason for leaving (was let go, they say I quit), can Service Canada retroactively demand payment back of claims if they think you lied too them?
Hey gang.
In Sept. 2021 I was let go from a business, CFO telling me 'We cannot afford you.'
This was after Feb. 2021, after working a few months in a management role after working there as a prod tech with facility since 2019, I was having difficulty doing the job and working with my super, and had only gotten a 50 cent raise to take said management role. I was experiencing basically 100x more stress at work with a facility wide work load for a raise and pay I couldn't really save or meet my basic needs with still, and it built pretty quick, and after only 2 months in the role I went to them and petitioned them for a raise, and when that failed I told them I'd resign the role and return to my former as it just was not working for me, and I specifically told them too that they needed to find someone with the actual background to do the role and pay them accordingly.
We agreed, not in writing (I've realized the mistake), that I'd keep doing the role until they found a new hire, and then I would train them up. Was supposed to only take 3 months but by September I was still doing role, until one day CFO comes to production floor and pulls me aside, says I don't need to come to work for the rest of the week and that they won't be keeping me anymore - I clarify with him, 'thats not what we had agreed' and he kind of shrugged, adding 'we can't afford you.)
I ended up being the first of a round of lay offs at company within an industry-wide crunch of the Cannabis industry in the yrs following legalization, I think companies were largely over inflated in value over the value they were bringing in and big players across the country deleted roles following.
My EI application for this time took more than 7+ months to be approved, by which my savings had ran out looking for a job and I'd moved back to rural MB to try and save money.
fast forward too about 2 or 3 week ago
After quitting a painting / drywall position in Oct 2022 over pay for working with a spray foam insulator for 28/hr, I was again looking for work at the end of Nov. 2022 when spray foamin' dried up. I did 3 jobs for spray foamer as a self-contractor, not employed by him.
By end of Jan 2023 I was again through my savings and had applied for EIA to help with rent. EIA makes you also apply to EI, though I hadn't figured I'd qualify anyways and expected nothing.
Service Canada phoned me to clarify details on my EI application - I had listed my work for the contractor in november as 'casual' not realizing in Service Canada's eyes they considered my role contracting. It makes sense to me now per their approaches, as casual could still be working 3 days a week for someone kinda deal where I only did a handful of jobs helping a guy.
The service Canada employee on the phone went through the last jobs and reasons for leaving, my painting job was Quit and I quit because I was going to earn 12/hr more helping the spray foamer so I quit.
But then they mentioned that position in 2021 as having also an RoE that said 'Quit'
I don't know about you guys, but if I resign a role to return to my previous, and then continue to work at said business for 7 months only to be let go from the CFO because they cannot afford me, that doesn't sound like 'quitting,' that sounds like being fired or let go. I'm guessing from the businesses perspective, they're arguing I quit because I resigned my role in February to return to my previous, which they agreed too, not that I was laboring in said resigned role until being fired in Sept. 2021.
The service Canada employee saying that made me wonder if that single reason was itself behind my previous EI claim taking more than 7 months to be approved and resulting in me entirely uprooting my life in a mistake that I haven't clawed back from because my epileptic ass cannot get a fucking job out here because everyone needs a drivers license or pays $16.
Realizing the lack of anything written about the agreement is damning in my case, but even the fact I was earning my 21.5/hr wage for said role I resigned in February and did til September would be among evidence in my favor.
What it all made me wonder though, was this;
If Service Canada gave me EI for a role they believe I quit, even though the employer is legitimately blatantly lying about it, does Service Canada ever make you 'pay back' EI if they feel they gave it out wrongly?
The Service Canada employee telling me I quit a position I literally was fired from made me wonder if it wasn't behind why it was such a labor to get EI in the first place, and I think at the time it only went through via intervention of the EIA case worker I'd complained too.
Does Service Canada ever review past claims or anything and rule an account may be owing or something? I'd kind of put all my eggs into thinking I'd be doing 4 rennos since Jan and none of those jobs came to pass, hence why I ran out of money. Been applying for actual jobs in town too, and experience aside is does not matter because a driving restriction because of an epileptic risk mercs my qualifications immediately. I feel like I cannot work here and have been fighting an uphill battle against earning money and debt, and pretty much only eat once a day even haha. I'm terrified of more unknown debt being 'found' if Service Canada considers they gave out a wrong claim per what an RoE says, or something, and I'm not sure if they do that kinda thing.
Hearing the SC person say my last job lied on RoE made me afraid you could have to pay back similar to how people who even qualified for CERB and stuff got made to pay back or appeal those decisions and stuff.
I legit have 0 money. I've survived of EIA and putting what I can against CC debt. I'm still not expecting an EI payment, like I really don't think I qualified, but talking to service canada too made me afraid they may consider my last claim as having been inappropriate because the business lied? Is that a crazy fear and I'm just being super hyper vigilant?
