So, for context, I used to write for a very, VERY small fandom (to paint a picture, the most popular ship only has about 106 fics total). It's that kinda community where everyone kinda knows eachother, or atleast is vaguely aware of eachother. I wrote a lot of fic for a specific pairing I really liked and a two-part angst fic that I was really, really proud of. This two part angst fic became quite popular within the fandom, it got a ton of nice comments and sometimes I'd even catch people on discord or on other socials mentioning it which made me very emotional since I didn't expect something so self-indulgent to get so much love.
Cut to a few months later. I check the ship tag for the pairing that I wrote for and I see a new angst fic pop up. I'm instantly super excited since fics for the ship are few and far between and there are even fewer that cater to my specific tastes.
I read it and... they reuse a scene from my fic that I had been the only one to write for so far, down to the wording and how the scene was set up. I had a scene where character A finds a video recording of character Bs demise and watches it wanting to find the truth of what really happened to them. The entire scene is an alternation of character Bs words before their passing and character As gradual feelings of anguish as they watch the video. This fic had the exact same scene that i had written! The set up, Character A watching the tape and feeling worse and worse as it goes on. This isn't something that is ever expanded upon in canon and it was very upsetting to see.
I check the user, I see that they were one of the folks who had left super nice comments on my fics and I don't have the heart to confront them. I decide to just ignore the fic and rant about it to some close friends. I see the user around on other socials and see that they follow me so I softblock them because everytime I catch a glimpse of them I get reminded of the fic and get mildly peeved. I end up rationalizing the whole ordeal by telling myself that this was probably someone younger who enjoyed my work and I shouldn't be mad, but flattered.
Eventually I just end up forgetting about it, time passes and i get into a new (bigger) fandom and all is chill. I decide to check the tag for the pairing I had written for out of curiosity, since I hadn't checked the tag for a while.
And lo and behold, new angst fic. I get excited again because this is my favorite genre. I read a bit and... the same scene, with the exact same wording/set-up as my fic shows up. Again. To add insult to injury, it's the exact same scene that was ripped last time, too. Except this time they also mentioned that Character C had given Character A the tape, which was something that wasn't canon, again, and that I had explored in my writing.
I get really upset about it, but I chose to do the same thing as last time. Rant about it to a few friends and try to forget about it. I choose not to confront anyone because I'm barely in the fandom anymore, and again, these people seem like they just really, really liked my work and wanted to write something similar.
I keep telling myself I should be flattered, but it's honestly really hard. I keep thinking about it and getting upset and it makes me want to try to contact the author and ask them to at least add some sort of inspiration credit, but I don't want to get on anyone's nerves. My friends have advised me to confront them or have even offered to go comment on the fics for me but again and again I have told them not to.
What do you guys think I should do, if anything? I don't think this will stop bothering me anytime soon and i have the feeling it'll keep happening. :(

Anybody though it a little too coincidental that the unravelling universes in Dr. Strange 2 and in What If Dr. Strange lost his Heart are marked by this oily black weightless ink? Same goes for the canon event disruptions in Across the Spider-Verse and Spot's awakened powers
Sony clearly wants their take on Venom to be one of their biggest brands going forward and I can think of few other explanations for the Venom 2 and No Way Home mid-credits scenes. I think even Thor Love&Thunder might have been a piece of the puzzle... imagine if the sword was sent to this universe to clear a path for an even worse primordial threat and that threat would have an easier time of it if this universe had no gods blocking its way to its sinister goals.

Synopsis/Review
Miles Morales learns of a multidimensional society of Spider-People tasked with protecting the multiverse
I usually leave these kind of comments at the end, but I need to bring this up first: See this movie and see it on the biggest screen possible.
Across the Spider-Verse takes place about a year after the events of the first movie, with Miles Morales (voiced my Shameik Moore) mostly settled into his role as Brooklyn’s one and only Spider-Man. A run-in with Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), who herself is from another universe, has him stumble upon a society of Spider-men/women/animals who are tasked with protecting every reality where a Spider-Person exists. This society is run by a Spider-Man by the name of Miguel O’Hara (voiced by an incredible Oscar Isaac) who is hellbent on protecting the canon of every Spider-Man universe - the very events that make the varying versions of Spider-Man exist. If you know anything about the lore of Spider-Man, you could see how an adolescent version of this hero like Miles would be hesitant to follow the canon to the letter.
The first film was well regarded for its visual style, art, acting, and writing. I’m so very happy to say that everything that made the first one great is intact and expanded on. Every universe visited in this movie still has its own unique art style, the framing of the shots and cinematography make everything look and feel like a comic book come to life, and there are genuine emotional moments that had me misty eyed in my seat.
I can’t really talk about the entire cast without spoiling some really cool surprises for folks like me who avoided trailers like the plague. The characters you did see in some of the trailers, namely Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy and Miguel O’Hara, all do great in their roles. What I can say about the other characters that show up is that they were all perfectly cast, and everyone knows exactly what they need to do to really sell their roles and scenarios.
A movie like this is going to have tons of easter eggs and winks to the fans of Spider-Man where if you blink you miss them. For the sake of making them all as awesome as possible, I will not be talking about any of them specifically, but by god they brought so much joy to my nerdy little heart. If it’s a Spider-Man property, it’s probably referenced somewhere in this movie.
My favorite performance is, unfortunately, one I can’t talk about here. But I will say that this version of Spider-Man was one that I found the funniest and most surprising when I saw the end credits roll. He perfectly adapts to the absurdity of the role, and steals the scenes he’s in, while leaving the main plot just early enough that you’ll be left wanting more, and more we will get, as we are told “Miles Morales will return in Beyond The Spider-verse.” 2024 can’t get here fast enough.
I’m going to be blunt here: This is the best Spider-Man movie I have ever seen. It may even be the best superhero movie I’ve ever seen. And the fact of the matter is, I will be watching this one multiple times to take in more of the art, the colors and visuals ripped straight from the comics, the acting, everything.
I cannot recommend this movie enough. It’s better than the first Miles Morales movie. It’s better than Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 (2004). I dare say this movie is better than the MCU’s No Way Home (2021). If you are able to, find this movie and watch it on the biggest screen you possibly can, and then watch it again because chances are you will catch something new on a second viewing.

Hi everyone! I'm a comedian doing a Ted-Talk like show in the Hollywood Fringe Festival right now about the history of people with Crohn's and I thought I'd share some of the fun facts I learned in my research with the subreddit.
-Dan O'Bannon was a screenwriter and director who wrote the movie "Alien". The chestburster scene was inspired by his Crohn's Disease.
-Beth Rickey was a political activist in the 80s and 90s. She investigated and reported on David Duke (infamous white supremacist and KKK Wizard) while he was running for governor of Louisiana. She is quietly credited with stopping him from becoming governor, despite the death threats and harassment she received. She was diagnosed with Crohn's later in her life.
-Some other famous people with Crohn's: Dwight Eisenhower, Pete Davidson, Mike McCready (lead guitarist for Pearl Jam), King Louis VIII, Tyree Nichols, so many more. There's a whole wikipedia page of famous people with Crohn's.
-The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) was passed in 1990 but Crohn's wasn't covered under it until 2008.
Anyway, thought these were interesting and worth sharing.

I wanted to post and text how I feel about part 2 of Chainsawman to get it off my chest as well as spark some conversation with other fans, cause I feel as though I’m the only one who feels this way to the same degree and it doesn’t make me feel great as a fan of Fujimoto’s work on part 1 of Chainsawman. There are many reasons I feel the way I do, one of them is that the manga just feels very different to me now. Part 1 of Chainsawman made me so excited for every chapter that would come out and had my hyped over every arc. I haven’t been excited about a single thing in part 2 except for when Denji came back into the story and that was it, the manga just feels awfully slow now and the moments really don’t hit as hard as they used to. The second reason that I don’t like part 2 is that Denji is not the lead character anymore which I feel is a completely fair criticism, but my friends definitely think otherwise and say that it’s stupid that I don’t like Chainsawman as much anymore due to Denji not being as prevalent. Denji is one of the main reasons I got so attached to Chainsawman in the first place. He is someone I can relate to a lot as well as root for and when he goes through something horrible and traumatic you really feel for him, he grew so much from the beginning of part 1 but I feel like In part 2 he has just been the default version of himself from early part 1, Denji isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed but he is also not a complete dumbass to things around him, it just upsets me that the character that got me into the manga in the first place is so easily shoved to the side and made into a side character. The third reason I don’t like part 2 is because of the new main character, Asa Mitaka. As of where the manga is at this point I still don’t like Asa in the slightest, she is not interesting or fun to follow, she’s annoying and every time i read a chapter solely about her it’s exhausting, a lot of people have told me that it’s because I’m not an introvert that I don’t like Asa…..which is incorrect, I’m very introverted and I still don’t like Asa. I also find the Asa and Yoru relationship to be extremely uninteresting to follow, it’s like the Yuji and Sukuna relationship from Jujutsu Kaisen if Sukuna was a angsty teenager and not likeable. So many people like Asa and it makes me feel like a complete asshole when I talk about how I don’t like her. Worst one I got was when someone told me that I lack human empathy because I don’t feel for Asa’s backstory and shitty life. I mean, I get that bad things happened to her, but every other character in this manga has had a shitty life/backstory, it’s kinda expected at this point. A little bonus reason is that I think the other side characters are not all that great. It’s hard to compete with part 1 as Aki and Power are still in the list of my favorite characters in new gen manga, but I really haven’t enjoyed any of the side character’s so far. Yoshida has been a complete mystery since part one and it’s hard to get attached to a character that I know nothing about, the devil hunter club guys aren’t all that great either, the main guy is annoying and the Kobeni’s brother is nothing except a male Kobeni, could have made him a little different at least, Yuko could have been an interesting character until Fujimoto killed her off. The only side character I’m still somewhat interested in is Nayuta, I’m hoping that she can shake up somethings and make some interesting stuff happen before I take a break from the manga or just drop it all together. I know this was a long post but I appreciate anyone who reads it and if you post your own opinions in the comments that’s great, I’d love to discuss and maybe get some advice or help at looking at part 2 in a different light and giving it another try, cause I absolutely loved part 1, just please be respectful, I don’t want to argue with anybody and it is only my opinion at the end of the day, if you enjoy part 2 of Chainsawman I am so happy for you and wish I was with you on that front.

I’m making this because I noticed some common misconceptions in the ending of TOTK and the warm loving embrace and stuff.
Yes, it is true that Sonia and Rauru Channel their powers to turn Zelda back from a dragon. I also thought it was quite interesting that curing Zelda also cures Link, kinda poetic honestly. Regardless this fact is confirmed by Mineru in the post-credit scene as well. So yes for Zelink shippers Links love isn’t what turns her back it’s the threes combined magic, HOWEVER!!! There is a silver lining.
If you know anything about BOTW or TOTK I’m sure you are very aware that Link and Zelda are definitely in some sort of romantic relationship as it’s the entire subtext of BOTW and it’s very obvious in TOTK. Now that that’s established, Zelda states she woke up when she felt something like a warm loving embrace after being changed back from a dragon. Rauru and Sonia are dead, link grabs her and embraces her as they crash into the lake and fall through the sky. Though link doesn’t change her back with love, he wakes her up from her slumber with it. So yes Zelink is “canon”. Clearing up misconceptions that I’ve seen. The relationship is meant to be up to the player but Nintendo leaves just enough small details through journals, body language, and dialogue to confirm this without saying it. It’s beautiful though I do wish they could come out and say it, it would have made the story far more compelling if we knew link and Zelda had a thing for eachother, it would make her disappearance so much more impactful rather than listening to the sadness in links voice and the body language he exudes. It would also make the scene when they reunite that much more powerful.
