2023.03.22 06:34 loganandmrk X amount of Karn's Sylex over O-Stone in the main?
Has anyone thought about putting them in the main and not the board? I'm thinking about running 1 or 2 Karn's Sylex (leaning more towards 1) to replace out of 3 O-Stone in Mono-G. I'm thinking this will help get around Blood moon/magus effects as well as help clear a lot of decks using 1-3 drops. Engineered Explosives I feel is too slow to grab with KTGC and can reasonably clear 1-0 drops. Sylex kinda of meets the middle ground between O-Stone and EE. I feel that when I'm off Tron (provided opponent uses a boseiju style effect to get rid of Tron) O-Stone is too slow where Sylex on T3 can blow up a whole board on T4 and let you stabilize. This also shuts off a crucial T3 or T4 Yawgmoth against that deck. But having a full activation cost of O-Stone at 8 mana with Tron is usually not done until T4 and takes the WHOLE turn. Where Sylex can keep your value permanents in play if you X=3 or 4. However the activate only as a sorcery thing is a bit rough too.
Sorry for the word spam this is just me spitting my thoughts about it and wondered if I could get some useful feedback about it.

If im being honest here im genuinely confused. Today me and my girlfriend had gotten into a repetitive argument once again, listen I love this girl with everything in me and would do absolutely anything and everything to be her man. Yet this is where im confused, today we were eating dinner, mind you she is sick with a cold, so she asks me to take her home because she doesnt feel good. Then she starts tearing up and I ask her “ are you okay honey?” She goes “yes im just sick” and she has repeatedly told me to take things with their face value because i tend to be a nudge when shes upset. So i drive her home and while we’re driving i ask her “ are you sure you’re okay love, this seems a little worse than a cold “ and she responds “ what I cant just have a night without you? I dont feel good I want to go home” Which really threw me off because i feel as if that question wasnt as jarring as it came off. So then i drop her off, i tell her I love her and to call or text if she needs me, she proceeds to apologize for ruining dinner and i told her it was perfectly okay , no worries at all. Then two hours go by, after she implied that I should leave her alone and not push, she texts me “ goodnight. “ which is not a normal tendency for her, so I politely responded “ hey im sorry love, im probably just over thinking, but whats up with the goodnight” she says “ no text checking in on me at all, instead of me crying all night im just going to bed” then a relatively long conversation ensued, and I was genuinely confused as to what was going on because time after time before shed tell me i ask to much and that i push too hard, but this time i did what she tells me to do which is “ not speak to her unless she speaks to me when shes upset” and to “ not ask if shes okay more than once” and now she tells me that I dont care about her when in reality shes all I care about. So i guess what im trying to say is, how do I avoid finding myself in a situation like this again?

I (20F) come from an orthodox South Asian family. Fortunately, I am moving away to another country in a little less than six months, so I don't have to put up with any of them for much longer now. Some background info here, my grandmother (90F) lives with us, and has ever since I was a baby. My grandfather also lived with us until he passed away. Because of this, I've been subjected to looking after them all my life in the absence of my parents. I couldn't go out with friends, focus on anything I liked or have a normal teenage life. I also have a brother (15M) who I've all but raised and helped with studies all my life.
On to the problem at hand, my mother is currently living with my maternal grandmother because of her recent knee surgery. Before leaving, she asked my father to wash my grandmother's clothes. It is kind of important to mention here that my grandmother has bladder control issues with age, and soils her clothes. That is the one thing my mother asked my father to do, as I was looking after the rest of the chores in the house. However, as I had expected, the morning before my father left for work, he asked me to wash my grandmother's clothes and told my mom that I would be taking care of it, in spite of agreeing to do it only a day earlier. This really made me angry, but I let it go initially because I didn't want any fights in the house. I also let it go because my father threatens me with my plans to go abroad, and says he won't sign my No Objection Certificate (its backwards but it is needed) anytime I argue with him about anything. However, when I was on call with my mother, she said something that really pissed me off. She told me to wash the clothes myself and not let the responsibility fall on my brother as he is the youngest in the house. Now of course I wasn't planning on dropping this on him, but her statement really made me angry for two reasons, 1) I was 13 when I was made to do things for my grandparents and she didn't think to protect my childhood then, and 2) She couldn't give the same statement to my father, whose responsibility it actually is. She didn't think to protect me and tell him what she told me for my brother, so that the responsibility doesn't fall on me either. An argument ensued, and I flat out told her I wouldn't be washing the clothes as it is not my responsibility. She said that I'm the "mother" when she is not present and that it is my duty. I promptly hung up, and since then, I've been called irresponsible, immature and selfish.

I have a [[Seizan, Perverter of Truth]] deck that's group hug, but like group hug from your creepy uncle. Plenty of ways to make drawing cards hurt, a couple board wipes, etc. Nothing overpowering.
I start with 3 Swamps in hand, no ramp and nothing really interesting to play. Not so bad as the other players are going slow too. Turn 3 I cast [[Underworld Dreams]], and start doing one or two damage a turn, nothing major.
Get mana screwed, don't draw another land for another couple of turns, in the meantime I suspend [[Profane Tutor]], then [[Infernal Grasp]] to remove another player's commander. Profane goes off, and I'm not liking the board state, so I get [[Killing Wave]] and then cast it for X = 3. Literally, that's all that I could do, usually this should be something like X = 7 or 8 to make it really painful, and if I were on land drops I would have been at least X = 6. Takes out a few creatures and drains some life from others. At this point they're leaving me alone as I'm "not a threat", and I never expected to survive. They poke each other a little bit, and then on my next turn I miss another land drop and so can only cast [[Revenge of Ravens]].
Which keeps player B from attacking, because even though I don't have blockers, I'm not a threat and he goes after C, knocks him down to 5 life. Then C's turn, who has a [[Phyrexian Arena]] out and has been getting pinged off that and my Underworld dreams for a few turns, ends up at 2 life after all the draws. He decides to swing at B and D with big creatures, taking them out, and attacked me with 1 creature. Revenge puts him at 1 life, and I end up at 4. So I could have just passed the turn, he'd have drawn and damaged himself, but instead he cracked a Blood token to draw a card and "go out on his own terms".
Everyone had a cool game. Jankiest win I've ever gotten: mana-screwed by 5 lands at least, 0 ramp, never cast my commander, never cast any other creature, and did no combat damage. Certainly my most unique way to end the game!

so i've been talking with this girl for a little bit and she's really sweet, funny, is into playing music like i am, just all around a cool girl. so after a while of talking she wants to meet up finally and i did cause well i like her. she is trans and pre-op, so i had some hesitation due to past trauma from a sexual assault. i've done a lot of work on myself and come a long way on that though.
so the first night we were making out and then she wanted to go further. i was fine with it at that point and kinda knew what she wanted coming into this anyways. so i was mentally prepared and ready to just take things slow.
i'm mostly bottom and looking back on it o realized that most the time i had my eyes closed, blocked, or looking up. she's very beautiful and really does make me want to do more with her. still every time i'd look more directly at her i didn't see a strap, i saw her.
i kinda blew that sign off and took the good time for what it was. i felt like i had really gotten over a big hurdle that night!
the next day i had a flashback or two but nothing that brought me too out of the moment. another day goes by and we'd been texting and she was going to come by to smoke and watch some movies. i started my period today though and the mood swings really hit halfway through.
tonight we ended up getting hooking up again and i didn't think much of it. as we did though i did the same thing of not being able to look. this time she mentioned docks a lot more too which kinda was triggering for me. i really didn't want to just turn that on her though especially after talking for so long and already hooking up once.
at the end i told her i just wanted to cuddle so we did, watched a movie, then she went home. i know i can't go on romantically with her. she's so sweet and really is beautiful, i just can't put her through that.

Playing the 1.12.2 Pack on a server a friend is hosting, and trying to find a good player launcher in it. I'm doing a build where I've got a big airship I've made as my main base, and I wanna have smaller auxiliary airships around to give me more room to build stuff/build a fleet around my main one cuz I think it'll look cool.
Already got a couple built, and am currently using Luminizers as my main way to travel between them. The main issue is I have to have two sets per ship for those, because theres apparently a bad bug seemingly where if you hook up two luminizers as a loop, if you hop off the luminizer you reach the other side, you spawn at the height level of the luminizer you got into, and because I've built the secondary ships at different height levels, this means either I get plopped inside the secondary ship, or on the way back I get dropped off 10 blocks above the ground and would take fall damage if not for my tiara/ring of odin. Technically avoidable if I always hop off it at the right time, but its already happened enough I'm done with it.
I'd love something you could just walk into and it'll launch you into the air towards the ship. Sadly the version of Portal Gun in this pack doesn't have Aerial Faith Plates, so I can't just use those. I can see that carts have a launch pad option, but I don't wanna clutter the deck of my ship with rails. Is there a good item in the pack I'm missing for anyone who knows the mods in it, or am I outta luck? I am hoping to not have to add anymore mods, because we've been playing for a while already.
TL;DR: Playing the 1.12.2 pack, and wanna know if any mod in this pack has a good way to launch the player upwards to a specific destination/location, or at least in a general direction. Not looking for recommendations of other mods to add to the pack.

I recently had to move dorms at my college due to harassment from roommates and there’s been a drastic climate change from one dorm to the other. In the new dorm, it’s more difficult to keep the humidity levels high, so my lizard had a hard time shedding.
I’ve been trying to get the stuck shed off but I’m really nervous about her dropping her tail from stressing her out too much. I guess my question is, can I pick up my lizard and hold her if necessary to use a q-tip in a bath for her? Or can she drop her tail.
Also, I think she may have started to develop tail rot at the tip of her tail but I’m not positive. Im going to bring her to the vet as soon as I can, but for now, is Neosporin (without ibuprofen) helpful?

I have a kind of (sad, depending on how you look at it) take on that scene in the trailer where Ted and Henry wave at Nate on the field.
Ted is going to abruptly leave Richmond for a reason -- be it to be with his son, or something else. And Nate is going to be killing it, but having a moment at a big game. He sees Ted at the game cheering him on with his son in a genuinely good hearted way, and it gives Nate the ability to tap into his own "Ted Lasso" moment and instead of being a major dick to everyone, he pulls a Ted, gets player's morales up, and wins because of that, propelling Nate to getting wha the wants -- approval from a father figure after he succeeds at something he's dreamed of.
Personally, I hate this old theory of mine ha, but... I feel like Ted Lasso is so full of life lessons, and while SO many of them in this show are wonderfully uplifting, upbeat, and show the underdogs winning, I also think it tackles moving on, letting go, and being excited for others when they succeed as well, even if it means you lose. And I think that's going to be a huge part of Nate's redemption arc and a way to wind down the series.
I hope i'm wrong. If I had my way, Ted would win every match, marry sassy who will love him endlessly the way Michelle couldn't, Henry would move to London to be with him and love it, Roy and Keely would get back together and Jamie would be their weird best friend/tripod guy, and Ted would stay forever in London and win a million championships and Nate would become a busboy at the restaurant he wants the window seat because he got fired from West Ham and blackballed from every other team because of the rumors about how horribly he treats his players and his poor sportsmanship. And to top it off, Nate's dad would drop a comment about how much he respects Ted.
Rebecca would foster a young 13 year old girl like Nora, and inspire her. Higgins would win the lotto and buy a bigger house for his huge family. Beard would set Jane on fire (figuratively) and tell her to fuck off to hell, then meet the nicest woman ever would treats him right and values his friendship with Ted. Jamie will meet a stunning but also incredibly empathetic and caring super model and they will create a non-profit to prevent bullying and empower kids, she'll get pregnant, and Jamie will have the opportunity to be the dad he never had. Sam will get to play for the Nigerian national team. And everyone else will just be happy.

2023.03.22 06:15 No-Expert275 [SPOILERS] Saw the D&D movie...
Saw a sneak preview of the D&D movie and, I gotta be honest, I don't think that I can recommend it.
So, anyway, the movie starts in this halfling village, and there's a guy, I think he's a farmer (who writes "farmer" for their backstory when they could be the prince of the kingdom?), but he's trying to take his first level in wizard, which really doesn't make much sense to me, because everyone knows that that's a class that halflings aren't great at. Tasha's rules, maybe?
So, he finds a human baby in the river near their village, and the head of the village is like "take her back to her fellow humans!", which totally nixes the idea of that baby getting some sweet Custom Lineage options. The halfling takes the baby and some hirelings and leaves the village, where they meet the next PC, like half an hour later. Really? What kind of shitty DM keeps the party separated like this? And what kind of smooth-brain plays a human fighter? At least he has the criminal background, which makes him kind of cool...

So, anyway, the movie starts in this halfling village, and there's a guy, I think he's a farmer (who writes "farmer" for their backstory when they could be the prince of the kingdom?), but he's trying to take his first level in wizard, which really doesn't make much sense to me, because everyone knows that that's a class that halflings aren't great at. Tasha's rules, maybe?
So, he finds a human baby in the river near their village, and the head of the village is like "take her back to her fellow humans!", which totally nixes the idea of that baby getting some sweet Custom Lineage options. The halfling takes the baby and some hirelings and leaves the village, where they meet the next PC, like half an hour later. Really? What kind of shitty DM keeps the party separated like this? And what kind of smooth-brain plays a human fighter? At least he has the criminal background, which makes him kind of cool...

So what is everyone’s greeting of choice when acknowledging customers for the first time? Where I work, the food runners should drop off the waters for the table as soon as they sit down but sometimes that doesn’t happen and I don’t want to ignore the table completely but I also don’t want to drop off the water and then ask to take their order right away. So usually I say hi here are some waters, I’ll give you a couple minutes to look at our menu. But idk I sometimes feel customers don’t like that or think I’m being dismissive. And sometimes they already know what they want and now I’ve just said they’ll have to wait a few minutes until I come back.

If im being honest here im genuinely confused. Today me and my girlfriend had gotten into a repetitive argument once again, listen I love this girl with everything in me and would do absolutely anything and everything to be her man. Yet this is where im confused, today we were eating dinner, mind you she is sick with a cold, so she asks me to take her home because she doesnt feel good. Then she starts tearing up and I ask her “ are you okay honey?” She goes “yes im just sick” and she has repeatedly told me to take things with their face value because i tend to be a nudge when shes upset. So i drive her home and while we’re driving i ask her “ are you sure you’re okay love, this seems a little worse than a cold “ and she responds “ what I cant just have a night without you? I dont feel good I want to go home” Which really threw me off because i feel as if that question wasnt as jarring as it came off. So then i drop her off, i tell her I love her and to call or text if she needs me, she proceeds to apologize for ruining dinner and i told her it was perfectly okay , no worries at all. Then two hours go by, after she implied that I should leave her alone and not push, she texts me “ goodnight. “ which is not a normal tendency for her, so I politely responded “ hey im sorry love, im probably just over thinking, but whats up with the goodnight” she says “ no text checking in on me at all, instead of me crying all night im just going to bed” then a relatively long conversation ensued, and I was genuinely confused as to what was going on because time after time before shed tell me i ask to much and that i push too hard, but this time i did what she tells me to do which is “ not speak to her unless she speaks to me when shes upset” and to “ not ask if shes okay more than once” and now she tells me that I dont care about her when in reality shes all I care about. So i guess what im trying to say is, how do I avoid finding myself in a situation like this again?

Me(40 f) and my boyfriend (38M) live together. He has a 5 yr old daughter who I've watched for some short periods of time while he went to the gym or got a haircut... etc and once to do bedtime bath and routine while he had to go to work during his visitation time. I did so each time without hesitation because it helped him and as a partner you step up when they need you, as my point of view.
I am the maid of honor in an upcoming wedding and her bachelorette party is this weekend in Joshua tree. We have hiking, pioneer town, and hanging out at the house planned. Nothing wild and crazy with clubs, bars, strippers... or anything of the sort.
I have 2 dogs that I asked his thoughts on possibly watching them for me (since we live together). He said he'd only feel comfortable watching one. Didn't make sense to me but that's fine I'll get a sitter for one of them. He had another day event planned where I assured him he didn't need to rush home to let the 1 dog out because I can have the neighbor let her potty during the day so he didn't feel obligated to stay close. It turns into a huge fight days later where he tells me "watch my own fucking dogs" "my dogs are my own responsibility" I shouldn't "dump them on him so I can go off to party" and "I don't want to be stuck to the house to watch them."
Now I have 2 sitters for each of them to be watched, paying a lot for them to be watched and having to drive all over to drop them off and pick them up.... etc.
I feel that this was unreasonable, a way to punish me for going away with my friends(which he hates) and overall an immature way of thinking for a 38 year old man who says he loves me and wants to marry me. I don't feel like he has my back when I need him.
