2023.03.30 20:39 Plllar_MT NYU Stern Sustainability Report - Some Positive News
NYU Stern publishes a
Sustainable Market Share Index Report, updated in April 2022.
The research questions and key findings are included below. The TL;DR is that sustainably marketed products are increasing their market share, account for outsized share of overall growth, especially among upper income, millennials, college-educated and urban consumers, and middle income Baby Boomers and Gen Xers. Those demographics are willing to pay more for sustainable products.
Sustainable Market Share Index™: Research Questions - Have purchases of sustainable products increased over time?
- How important has sustainability become in new product development?
- Are there specific product categories for which the purchases of more sustainable product options out- or underperform less sustainable alternatives?
- What is the price premium of sustainable products?
- How have sustainable products fared in e-commerce?
- What is the demographic profile of the sustainable purchaser?
- What is the impact of product availability on share?
- Are green chemistry products outperforming conventional formulations?
Sustainable Market Share Index™: Executive Summary We reviewed consumer purchasing of sustainability-marketed products in 36 consumer packaged goods (CPG) categories comprising ~40% of the total CPG market* ($). Our findings are:
Sustainability-Marketed Products Share Performance - Products marketed as sustainable now hold a 17.0% market share, up +3.3 ppts vs 2015, with significant growth during the pandemic (Pgs. 5, 6).
- Sustainability-marketed products delivered approximately one third of all CPG growth, despite representing 17% share (Pg. 7).
- Products marketed as sustainable grew 2.7x faster than products not marketed as sustainable (Pg. 7) and achieved a 6-YR CAGR of 7.3% vs. 2.8% for its conventional counterparts (Pg. 8).
- Carbon Labeled products now account for $3.4B in Sales, up from $1.7B in 2020 (Pg. 9).
- The market share of sustainability-marketed products roughly aligns along a continuum based on perceived category functionality or efficacy. Even in categories with low shares, shares of sustainability marketed products increased (Pgs. 12-13).
- Sustainability marketed products enjoy stronger shares online vs. in-store (Pgs. 19, 20).
- Availability of sustainability-marketed products strongly correlates with share performance (Pgs. 27, 28)
Price Premiums and Elasticity of Sustainability-Marketed Products - Sustainability-marketed branded products still enjoy a price premium of 28%** vs. their conventionally marketed branded counterparts, but the differential has decreased since 2019 (Pgs. 14-15).
- Since the pandemic, year to year price increases of conventionally-marketed products have outpaced their sustainable counterparts (Pg.16).
- Sustainability-marketed products are largely less sensitive to price. (Pg. 17).
Innovation - The percentage of new products that incorporate sustainability benefits have increased every year since 2017 (Pgs. 10,11).
Demographics - Upper income, millennials, college-educated and urban consumers are more likely to buy sustainability-marketed products. In addition, middle income, Baby Boomers and Gen Xers contribute a significant percent of sustainable sales (Pgs. 22-26).
Green Chemistry - Green Chemistry formulations are growing share and contributing differentially to category growth (Pgs. 29-34).

2023.03.30 20:30 alexl_4 AQST Huge Potential
$AQST - Long-term high-risk, high-reward, pharma play w/ potential for +1000% return
*
Enter Aquestive's Lead Drug, AQST-109... Now for the real potential golden egg. Aquestive is working on an orally administered drug to treat allergies that is a direct alternative to EpiPen's autoinjector. The clear and obvious benefit here is that the patient would not have to stab themselves with a needle in order to administer the drug. EpiPen autoinjectors have been known to have failures (
https://www.center4research.org/epipen-maker-failed-investigate-product-flaws-associated-patient-deaths-fda-says/), and also require some degree of manual skill in order to administer. Compare this with ease of oral administration via dissoluble film strip, and it doesn't take a leap of imagination to comprehend why one method of treatment would be preferred over the other.
AQST-109 has already shown positive pharmacokinetic (efficacy of drug in a living organism, measured by dosage, drug plasma concentration, distribution, time to absorption, and many more measured factors) results in their initial head-to-head study with EpiPen (
https://aquestive.com/aquestive-therapeutics-announces-positive-epiphast-ii-trial-data-for-aqst-109-when-compared-to-epipen/). Latest headlines and news re-affirms that they are publishing the positive data to the scientific community (
https://www.tipranks.com/news/press-releases/aquestive-therapeutics-to-present-positive-data-from-pharmacokinetic-studies-for-aqst-109-epinephrine-sublingual-film-at-american-academy-of-allergy-asthma-and-immunology-acaai-annual-scientific).
The Epinephrine market is absolutely massive. "The global epinephrine market is projected to grow from $1.75 billion in 2022 to $3.63 billion by 2029, at a CAGR of 11.0% in forecast period." (
https://www.fortunebusinessinsights.com/epinephrine-market-104291). Estimated fair-value SP is anywhere between $7-$12. A very rough estimate equation to calculate market value would be = cost per vial (treatment) * number patients * market penetration (factor of market adoption 0.0 - 1.00). Number for this equation are wildly speculative, so it's hard to even project. I'm looking more at the SP pre-Libervant approval, and how it was expected to be $9+ on/at approval. However, that did not pan out and we are where we are now. AQST-109 is a different kettle of fish with no direct competitor and a significantly larger market for the drug's application.
Analysts have a projected a price target of $7-$10 (
https://www.marketbeat.com/stocks/NASDAQ/AQST/price-target/).
Final thoughts! With a current SP of over 1$ at time of writing, this stock has the potential for 1000%+ upside. If you don't mind investing on the pretense of future successful clinical trials, and an FDA approval, while holding shares for 1-2 years, then the potential payoff is worth it IMHO. I have been dollar cost averaging down, and I'm holding nn,nnn shares until the results of the AQST-109 pipeline are submitted for FDA approval sometime in 2023-2024.

2023.03.30 19:56 dfhawk DBS - personal research / conclusions
I have elected to move forward with DBS and recently set out to select the best DBS system for me and quickly found I was unable to locate a comprehensive, detailed comparison of the available DBS systems. Consequently I have done some research and thought I would share my high-level findings:
Summary (of all DBS Systems):
Whether you go with Medtronic, Boston Scientific or Abbott's DBS system (assumes approval as a DBS candidate and the selection of a competent surgeon / programmer and successful electrode placement), you should benefit from DBS technology (regardless of the the area of the brain targeted (STN/GPi)).
I found two events with a panel of all three manufacturer's helpful with above summary:
Abbott, Boston Scientific & Medtronic Panel (9/2021)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7-qRudzoeU&t=1393s Abbott, Boston Scientific & Medtronic Panel (some audio issues)(10/2022)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-kYJGjeOto High-level panel differences of the three DBS systems (notes from each):
Abbott
\- First to Market - Directional Lead \- Neurosphere Virtual Clinic - remote connect/adjustments \- Primary Cell - long battery life
Boston Scientific
\- Most options for Programming \- Rechargeable battery - warranty of 15 years \- Image Guided Programming - Stimview XT - faster programming
Medtronic
\- First to market (invented pacemaker) \- Directional Leads, Rechargeable/Primary Cell \- Sensing technology (BrainSense)
Overall / High-Level Finding
Abbott seems fine but doesn't seem to have local representation. Additionally Abbott has a Primary Cell or Non-Rechargeable battery only. Again, per above, If you were to elect to go with Abbott the DBS system should improve your quality of life.
With the above said, Boston Scientific and Medtronic seem to be the front runners with Boston Scientific in the lead due to small size of their rechargeable battery along with a bias towards their Image Guided software, Stimview XT, that some programmers seem to be partial to (even though Medtronic has similar technology with SureTune - although Medtronic charges for the technology and Boston Scientific does not).
With the above said, Medtronic seem to be the only DBS manufacturer investing in brain sensing technology and Adaptive DBS - see below:
DBS Roadmap
Continuous DBS - currently Abbott, Boston Scientific & Medtronic all offer Continuous DBS with the Infinity (Abbott), Vercise (Boston Scientific) and Percept/Activa DBS systems (all FDA approved)
Adaptive DBS - based on my research, only Medtronic is working on Adaptive DBS (not yet available/not approved by FDA). I found the following videos helpful to understand Adaptive DBS:
Early Trial of Adaptive/Closed Loop DBS using PC+S (Medtronic Sponsored) (9/2016)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEX324RTNHM&t=1264s Adaptive DBS Explained (Medtronic sponsored)(7/2021)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUQ0pSUPu50&t=151s Medtronic Adaptive DBS (Patient Demo - Trial) (6/2022)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEr4tXi7ES4&t=22s Currently Medtronic is waiting for FDA approval for their new rechargeable battery (based on the Intellis product already approved by the FDA) with BrainSense. With the smaller size (13.9 cc vs. 20.1 cc) it should level the field quite a bit. Furthermore, with FDA approval this new Medtronic rechargeable neurostimulator will include the proprietary sensing technology (see Medtronic's BrainSense literature for more information), AND, with future FDA approval, an Adaptive mode (with a firmware update from a local programmer) making the device a clear leader (of the three DBS manufacturers).
Conclusion
I am hopeful that FDA approval of Medtronic's new rechargeable neurostimulator is approved by this summer but if not I may move forward with Percept (even though it is based on a larger primary cell battery), and swap it out for Medtronic's new rechargeable when the battery dies in a few years (again pending FDA approval).
My thoughts/opinions/research. No disclosures (not affiliated with any organization or manufacturer).

Oral hygiene and wellness are two aspects of personal care that are often overlooked. While maintaining oral health in general is fairly straightforward, oral health problems are more common than you might think. Your commitment to maintaining your oral microbiome and practicing good oral hygiene will determine your oral health. Oral health and oral health have two aspects.
The first is to keep your teeth healthy and take dental supplements, and the second is to maintain good gut and digestive health. Problems related to the digestive system often lead to general health problems. Since these supplements contain probiotic bacteria, it is recommended that you take an advanced oral health supplement or any advanced oral probiotic supplement.

ProDentim capsules contain 3.5 billion strains of probiotics, these are just friendly bacteria with many health benefits. Your immune system, digestive system, and even respiratory tract can all benefit to some extent. The term "oral probiotics" is a bit misleading because it suggests that the bacteria involved are actually present in our mouths. In fact, they are often eaten to aid digestion and boost immunity. Additionally, they can be used to maintain good oral hygiene, such as preventing gingivitis or bad breath.
Oral probiotics are dietary supplements that contain live bacteria and have been shown to improve health. These supplements can be in liquid, tablet, tablet, or powder form. The most common oral probiotics are Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobacillus acidophilus.
Probiotics work by strengthening your immune system and digestive system. According to some studies, these bacteria may reduce the risk of developing a number of diseases, including cancer, heart disease, diabetes and obesity.

- Lactobacillus Paracasei: Lactobacillus Paracasei is a healthy bacterium commonly found in fermented foods like yogurt and kefir. It has been shown to induce inhibition of other bacteria, which may help improve gut microbiome health and treat inflammatory bowel syndrome. It has been shown to promote the growth of healthy bacteria in the mouth while inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria.
- Inulin: Inulin, a natural sugar, has been shown to benefit oral health. Some of these benefits include a reduced risk of tooth decay, improved gum health, and protection against gingivitis and halitosis (bad breath). Inulin can help balance bacteria in the gut and reduce levels of harmful bacteria in the mouth. This can help prevent plaque and gum disease, two common problems for people with poor oral hygiene habits. Additionally, inulin may help better remove dental debris from your teeth, which will help fight plaque buildup. This ingredient also prevents unwanted cravings.
- lactic acid bacteria: Lactobacillus Reuteri probiotic has been shown to be good for gut health. This lactic acid bacteria helps to regulate the digestive tract, activates the natural cleansing process and facilitates better absorption of nutrients from food. It has been shown to promote oral health by reducing the amount and severity of plaque and gingivitis, as well as the development of tartar. Additionally, Lactobacillus Reuteri has been linked to a reduced likelihood of periodontal disease.
- Peppermint: Peppermint is an herb that has a number of reported benefits for oral health. Some of the things most often mentioned are improved gum health, less toothache and periodontal disease, and healthier-smelling breath. Mint can help improve oral hygiene by removing plaque and germs from teeth and gums. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, which can ease discomfort associated with tooth or gum infections.
- BL-04 B.lactis: B.lactis BL-04 includes oligosaccharides that are thought to act as prebiotics, supporting the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut. By reducing plaque and bad breath and restoring balance to the bacterial ecosystem in the mouth, it helps improve oral health. In addition, B.lactis BL-04 is a natural source of probiotics, which help improve the digestive tract and fight dangerous gastrointestinal diseases by maintaining a healthy immune system.
- Malic acid: A natural chemical called malic acid performs many important roles in the body. Malic acid helps reduce inflammation and protects against gum infections in addition to protecting teeth from cavities. Malic acid is a common acid found in many fruits and vegetables. By helping to maintain pH levels, so important for healthy teeth, it plays an important role in the body. Moreover, it removes dead skin cells from your body and slows down the aging process.
- Tricalcium Phosphate: Tricalcium phosphate (TCP) is an essential mineral for oral health. By forming a protective film on the teeth, it helps maintain tooth structure and prevent tooth decay. TCP also increases salivation, which helps clear food debris from teeth and gums.
- Component updates for ProDentim: On June 20, 2022, the oral probiotic formula ProDentim was made available for the first time. However, due to availability issues, as of August 2022, neither of the probiotic strains listed below will be included in the ProDentim composition:
- BLIS K-12: This live probiotic is present in our mouth and is essential for the preservation of the nose and mouth.
Fantastic Deal Buy Prodentim chews from the Official Website and Get a Discount by Clicking Here. ➤➤ What are the Prodentim Benefits? ProDentim soft tablets offer you a comprehensive solution to any problem that may arise in your oral cavity. However, that doesn't mean it only helps your gums and teeth. By helping you take care of all the potential problems that can lead to some dental problems, this supplement ensures oral health.
- Supports digestive health: Digestive health disorders are often the root of oral health problems. If your digestive system is not working properly, even problems like gum disease can occur. Bad breath is another major problem often associated with oral hygiene, but it has more to do with gut health than oral health. ProDentim chews ensures that in addition to excellent oral health, you won't have to worry about dental problems caused by a faulty digestive system. Probiotics, which help maintain a healthy digestive tract and the entire digestive process, once again make this possible.
- Airline support: Supporting your airways, an important part of overall respiratory health, is another special benefit of this supplement. This is because adding probiotics that benefit bacteria, like B. lactis BL-04, can ensure that your sugars are disease-free.
- Maintain a healthy immune system: Your immune system is important for maintaining good oral health. The body's immune system acts as a natural defense against a variety of illnesses, infections, and diseases. Your body's immune system can deal with oral health problems if it's working properly. Again, beneficial bacteria play an important role in this as they help maintain your body's built-in defenses. It can help you get rid of any unwanted germs inside, and sometimes it can be the key to preventing many oral hygiene problems.
- Reducing inflammation: For many people, inflammation is a fairly common phenomenon. Gingivitis is probably one of the most painful conditions you have to deal with. For this reason, supplements contain substances with anti-inflammatory properties. These can help you deal with the discomfort of inflammation or possibly prevent it from starting in the first place.
- Improves overall health: It's reasonable to argue that ProDentim can do more than just support oral health, as it's filled with healthy natural ingredients that have been shown to have many health benefits. It can maintain your general health by preventing digestive problems, immune system problems, and other problems, in addition to protecting the health of your teeth and improving oral hygiene. Probiotics can also benefit your digestive system, aiding in simple digestion.

2023.03.30 19:44 vrid_in Is that the end of the debt mutual fund? All the changes in finance bill 2023 affecting your personal finance
113th issue of the Vrid Newsletter is here -
https://blog.vrid.in/2023/03/28/what-is-loss-aversion-bias-how-is-this-bias-affecting-your-personal-finance/ The finance minister has passed some new amendments in the Finance Bill 2023 regarding debt mutual funds taxation, new tax regime rebate, STT on futures & options, etc.
Let’s discuss them and check their impact on your personal finances.
The Lok Sabha has passed the Finance Bill 2023 with 64 amendments to the bill initially introduced in the Lok Sabha on February 1, 2023. Of those 64 amendments, few might impact your personal finance the most.
Long-term tax benefits removed from debt mutual funds:
It has been proposed that investments in debt mutual funds from 1st April 2023 will be taxed as per the slab rate. The long-term capital gains tax and indexation benefit have been removed.
Earlier, any investment in debt mutual funds held for over 3 years was considered long-term. And we had the option to pay a 10% tax directly on the returns or a 20% tax after indexation. Both these options reduced our tax liability, and many chose to invest in debt mutual funds over the fixed deposit (FD) because of this tax benefit.
The government removing the long-term capital gains tax benefits brings the debt mutual funds returns and taxation on par with FDs. But there is a slight relief yet.
The government removed the long-term capital gains tax from debt mutual funds that invest less than 35% in domestic equity. That means even your gold mutual funds and international fund comes under this.
And any mutual fund that invests 35 to 65% in domestic equity (balance hybrid funds) will still be eligible for long-term capital gains. Any fund that invests over 65% in domestic equity is considered an equity mutual fund.
Taxes on mutual fund investments after April 1, 2023, are shown in the below table. Remember, your investments in debt mutual funds before March 31st, 2023 will still get the indexation and long-term capital gains tax benefits.

Small relief on new tax regime rebate:
On February 1, 2023, the finance minister announced the increased rebate in the new tax regime and other changes. We discussed it in detail here.
In the budget, the government has increased the tax rebate from ₹5 lakhs to ₹7 lakhs. And through recent amendments, the government has passed more relief.
Traditionally, when your income was marginally higher than the tax rebate, you had to pay full tax. Like, if your income was ₹7,00,100. It is ₹100 higher than the tax rebate, so you would be required to pay a tax of ₹25,010.
This seemed very unfair. So, the ministry announced that individuals earning income slightly above the tax-free income of ₹7 lakhs will have to pay tax only on the additional income. That is, you will have to pay tax only on the excess ₹100.
Now, some tax experts have told, according to the calculation, individual taxpayers whose income is up to ₹7,27,777 can get the benefit of this provision. Hope as time passes, we will get more clarity on this.
Increase in Securities Transaction Tax (STT) on Futures & Options:
The Government is raising the Securities Transaction Tax (STT) on futures and options contracts in the stock market from April 1, 2023. Options contracts will now attract 0.021% STT from 0.017% earlier, and futures will attract a levy of 0.0125%, up from 0.01%.

Setting up a committee for the National Pension System (NPS):
Over the last few years, many people and state governments have raised their voices against NPS. Most of them want to bring back the old NPS system.
In Lok Sabha, our FM Nirmala Sitharaman said we have received representations that the national pension system for government employees needs to be improved. We will set a committee under the Finance Secretary on the pension system to address the needs of employees and also maintain fiscal prudence.
Therefore, we may see some changes in the NPS.
We will continue to discuss essential topics affecting your personal finance. So, subscribe and stay tuned - https://vrid.in/newsletter

2023.03.30 19:42 ll--o--ll Return to home-away format: A rebalancing act for IPL teams Cricbuzz
| If the last season represented a new start for all of the teams in the IPL, then so does this one. While the 2022 edition took place after the hard reset of a mega auction, leaving the 10 franchises to assess the balance and depth of their squads, 2023 will be much the same as the tournament returns to a home-and-away format for the first time in three years. This will be a game changer for all of the teams, who picked entirely new combinations ahead of last year's tournament but then saw the group stages take place at just three venues across Maharashtra. How will they fare now that they will be playing a large portion of their games on home territory, as well as travelling to a wider range of away venues? In assessing who might benefit from this change, let's take a look at four pivotal teams. We will start with the two fan favourites - Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians - who finished at the foot of the table last season, and see if the switch in format might assist a revival. Then we will look at two teams who have performed well and appear to still have the team combinations to thrive in switch in format might assist a revival. Then we will look at two teams who have performed well and appear to still have the team combinations to thrive in this year's tournament. Chennai Super Kings A crucial factor is that CSK have always been a difficult team to beat at home, winning 39 of their 55 matches at the M.A.Chidambaram Stadium for a win rate of 70.91%. Now that they are returning, can they make it their fortress once again with their current resources? CSK finished ninth in the table last year, managing just four wins out of 14 matches and only avoiding the wooden spoon on net run rate. Since then they have hired the services of Ben Stokes for a whopping price, the experienced Ajinkya Rahane and Sisanda Magala (after original signing Kyle Jamieson was ruled out with injury). It's fair to say there will not be much change to their overall balance, since one can assume that Stokes will replace the seasoned matchwinner Dwayne Bravo - although they do play different roles, as Bravo was a bowling allrounder and Stokes is a batting allrounder. Rahane comes in for the retired Robin Uthappa, but is likely to serve as a back-up batsman given that he is an opener and CSK already have the seasoned pair of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway up top. Core Playing Combination - Devon Conway (Overseas) 2. Ruturaj Gaikwad 3.Moeen Ali (Overseas) 4. Ben Stokes (Overseas) 5. Ambati Rayudu 6. Shivam Dube 7. Ravindra Jadeja 8. MS Dhoni 9. Deepak Chahar 10. Mitchell Santner / Maheesh Theekshana (Overseas) 11. Simarjeet Singh
The combination mentioned above is likely to feature in most of their matches, particularly at their home venue where they will go with a spin-heavy bowling attack. CSK's success right from 2008 has been their opening pair: Mike Hussey/Murali Vijay, Brendon McCullum/Dwayne Smith, Ruturaj/Faf du Plessis. These combinations have set the tone early on, providing consistency for their top and middle order to take the innings further. The table below shows the impact that opening pairs have made upon their successful campaigns. https://preview.redd.it/y2jn5478wwqa1.png?width=541&format=png&auto=webp&s=fcfb1ee6bead26a64a8f69fe5a288995968697ec In 2022, they started the first game against KKR with Conway/Ruturaj but surprisingly changed the combination to Ruturaj/Uthappa for the very next game. This backfired badly as the pair went on to average just 12.75 at a low SR of 102. When they went back to Conway/Ruturaj, the pair ended up making 359 runs at an average of 51.2 with a SR of 149. Unfortunately for CSK, none of their top and middle order were consistent through the tournament. Conway was the only batter to average more than 40 (he averaged 42 at a SR of 145.66) yet he played only seven matches. This highlights the importance of the New Zealander to CSK's batting on home turf, but also represents a dilemma. The decision to sign Magala suggests that they are aware of the weakness in the death bowling department and saw the need to improve it. But how can they bring the South African into the side when Stokes and Moeen Ali are shoo-ins as allrounders, an overseas spinner will be handy at Chepauk and Conway is needed at the top of the order? This will be the main puzzle for them to figure out. The good news is the return of Deepak Chahar, but overall they look as though they will rely heavily on Stokes' performances to reach the playoffs. Crucial to this may be Stokes' record against spin. In the last 500 deliveries that he has faced against spinners in T20 cricket, he averages 31.13 with a reasonably good SR of 134. This will be a big boost for CSK considering the slow wickets in Chennai. Mumbai Indians Five-time champions MI ended up with the wooden spoon last year, also recording four wins out of 14 matches. Nothing worked in their favour - except the emergence of young Indian batter Tilak Verma. MI's blueprint through their successful years was two overseas frontline seamers, one overseas finisher and one overseas opening batter. They changed this last year and paid a heavy price, searching for the right combination through the tournament without ever finding it. Of the 10 teams in the IPL, Mumbai will experience the least change in conditions this season given that they played four league matches at the Wankhede in 2022. This suggests change in personnel will be as important to a revival for them. They broke the bank for Australian allrounder Cameron Green, and also brought in South African left-arm seamer Duan Jansen and experienced leggie Piyush Chawla, along with some domestic recruits. Jasprit Bumrah's injury will be a massive blow for MI to deal with. And with Jhye Richardon also been ruled out, there's plenty of work to be done to get their core combination right. The good news is that Jofra Archer is back and actively playing, but he is also someone known for his injuries. On top of that, the MI spin department does not look threatening. So if Archer breaks down in the middle of the tournament, they will have to rely on their batting to bail them out on a high scoring Wankhede pitch. Core Playing Combination - Ishan Kishan 2. Rohit Sharma 3. Surya Kumar Yadav 4. Tilak Verma 5. Cameron Green (Overseas) 6. Tim David (Overseas) 7. Ramandeep Singh 8. Mohd Arshad Khan 9. Jofra Archer (Overseas) 10. Jason Behrendorff (Overseas) 11. Kumar Karthikeya
This is the best balance they can think of, but they will have lots of headaches as far as the bowling unit is concerned - particularly on the batting-friendly pitches of their home ground. In the last five years of the IPL, the 55 matches played at the Wankhede have produced an average score of 171, which is relatively high. Unfortunately they don't have a proven Indian seamer to replace Bumrah, and also lack a wicket-taking spinner in the middle overs. If their seamers don't start well in the powerplay, they will likely end up conceding big scores. Archer also looked short of his dangerous best on his return in the SA20 league, taking 10 wickets with an Economy of 7.73, while Behrendorff's last IPL appearance was in 2019. The left-armer's stats read 165 runs in 19 overs with an ECO of 8.68, and 5 wickets at a SR of 22.8, which doesn't look highly encouraging. Cameron Green, on the other hand, averages 16.33 at a SR of 137.64 with the bat, and an ECO of 9.04 with the ball at a SR of 26.40 in his relatively short T20 career. Ramandeep Singh is new to this league with only a few games under his belt, and Arshad Khan will make his debut for everyone to see if he can live up to the hype created by the media. Switching to the spin department, Kumar Karthikeya played just four games last season taking 5 wickets, and Shokeen played five games for 2 wickets. Another option is Chawla, who went unsold last year and had low returns in IPL 2020, with his 21 overs going for 191 runs at a high ECO of 9.09 and yielding just 6 wickets. He played a solitary game in 2021. The average ECO for spin bowlers at the Wankhede since IPL 2008 is 7.5 - a low figure for a high-scoring venue, showing that spinners play a key role in owning the middle overs. This suggests that Mumbai will have a huge problem. Going through their batting, Rohit Sharma hasn't averaged 30 in the last six seasons; Ishan Kishan had a middling outing last year with 418 runs at an average of 32.15 and a SR of 120; Tim David is highly skilled but remains an unproven commodity in the IPL, and allrounders Ramandeep Singh and Arshad Khan are both inexperienced. Similar to CSK, only one batter, Suryakumar Yadav (Avg: 43.28 and SR: 145.67), managed to average more than 40 last season. Young Tilak Verma showed lot of promise with 397 runs at 36.09 with a SR of 131, but MI genuinely look weak on paper - particularly if their top three fail. With a struggle to find a combination to fill up the holes in both batting and bowling, MI might well have another tough year. Rajasthan Royals The 2008 winner and last year's finalist, Royals certainly look well balanced in all departments - particularly considering their home venue of Jaipur. Prasidh Krishna's absence for the season is a concern for them while Obed McCoy will miss at least the first few games, but they have good reserve options and should be the team to beat in the tournament. They retained most of their core players and added the seasoned allrounder Jason Holder, who will play a major role for them batting at No 7 and bowling four overs. They also brought in the services of Joe Root, but will find it difficult to fit him into the combination, while hard-hitting Donovon Ferreira will be the back-up plan for Shimron Hetymer. Adam Zampa might also struggle to get a game considering the success of the spin pair of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal last year. Wicketkeeper-batter Kunal Rathore, seamer KM Asif, leggie M. Ashwin, allrounder Akash Vashist and seamer Abdul are the local new signings, ensuring that they literally have back up for every position in the core playing XI. Core Playing Combination - Jos Buttler (Overseas) 2. Yashahvi Jaiswal 3. Devdutt Padikkal 4. Sanju Samson 5. Shimron Hetmyer (Overseas) 6. Riyan Parag 7. Jason Holder (Overseas) 8. Ravichandran Ashwin 9. Kuldeep Sen / Navdeep Saini 10. Trent Boult (Overseas) 11. Yuzvendra Chahal
In the last two years of IPL (2018 & 2019) in Jaipur, spinners have an ECO of 7.49 with a SR of 22. Royals have the best spin bowling combination - in terms of both experience and skill - with Ashwin and Chahal. Both were impressive last year, with Ashwin taking 12 wickets with an ECO of 7.50, and Chahal claiming 27 wickets at an ECO of 7.75. Another key factor in Jaipur is the powerplay, where teams on average score 50/1. The Royals have Trent Boult to counter that problem - in the last three IPL seasons, he has taken 18 wickets in the powerplay and conceded just 7.91 per over. New recruit Holder is also effective in this period - since Jan 2019 he has an ECO of 7.51 in the powerplay with a reasonable SR of 19. This will be a good combination to have along with the pacy and talented Kuldeep Sen. Ashwin and Chahal together in the middle overs will be a challenge to contend for any good batsmen. The Royals' weakness is their death overs bowling, which they will have to plan carefully. Holder since Jan 2019 has a high ECO of 10.57 in the death overs, while Boult has an ECO of 10.94. If they can sort out their death over problems, this bowling unit will dominate. https://preview.redd.it/a06wslz7xwqa1.png?width=558&format=png&auto=webp&s=3dc1fd9d2fa89293cc69ef6e61a2c38290018941 The Performance Index in Jaipur for a successful batting unit is 155 (Avg + SR), and if you see the stats for all the Royals frontline batters in last year's IPL, everyone except Padikkal (but including Ashwin) has matched that comfortably. So they have a really consistent and balanced batting line up to get scores between 180 and 190, which could be defended by a bowling line up with three reliable performers in Boult, Chahal and Ashwin. Royal Challengers Bangalore Having made it to the playoffs in the last three years, RCB have been consistent apart from winning the trophy. Yet it's worth noting that those three seasons have all been played away from their home ground, where the pitch often renders matches into a bat-vs-bat contest. Do they have the resources to maintain their good recent record now that they will be playing at the Chinnaswamy again? They have maintained almost the same core to their team, but with a few interesting additions in the auction. The new players are more about having a strong bench, with Reece Topley providing back-up for Josh Hazlewood, and Michael Bracewell warming the bench for Wanindu Hasaranga. Core Playing Combination - Faf du Plessis (Overseas) 2. Rajat Patidar 3. Virat Kohli 4. Mahipal Lomror 5. Glenn Maxwell (Overseas) 6. Dinesh Karthik 7. Shahbaz Ahmed 8. Wanindu Hasaranga (Overseas) 9. Harshal Patel 10. Josh Hazlewood (Overseas) 11. Mohammed Siraj
The above combination looks a well-oiled machine, with all bases covered - be it batting depth until No 8 or variety in the bowling, where they have two quick bowlers in Siraj and Hazlewood, Harshal Patel with his variations and wicket[1]taking ability, frontline spin options of Hasaranga and Shahbaz and also the part-time but effective off spin of Glenn Maxwell. The average score at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in its last two years of hosting IPL matches (2018 & 2019) is a massive 185/6. Generally it needs two batsmen to bat 70 balls together to post a high score, which has been the trend in Bangalore right from the first IPL in 2008. The most important thing is to have three bowlers in your line up who can provide regular breakthroughs. https://preview.redd.it/gcygk0ulxwqa1.png?width=547&format=png&auto=webp&s=74006b6a7c02a1804844b1b404fb6064039c29dc The above table from last year's IPL makes for a positive reading if you are a RCB fan. Three bowlers - Hasaranga, Harshal Patel and Hazlewood - were amongst gthe wickets, suggesting they have what it takes to keep batsmen honest at the Chinnaswamy. It's worth noting that they picked up an impressive tally of 65 wickets between them. The question will be how much those figures mean when the bowlers find themselves back in the unforgiving conditions of the Chinnaswamy. Siraj was off-colour last season and has conceded at an ER of 10.1 in Bangalore, so will his recent performances with India lift his confidence sufficiently to have a better IPL? https://preview.redd.it/a7jg6ettxwqa1.png?width=562&format=png&auto=webp&s=20fa54c3b2e8d5639944d3b88947465945feaac7 https://preview.redd.it/8lpbgkouxwqa1.png?width=543&format=png&auto=webp&s=a73b690e94ef093ebcfad306b6cebdbe03679ae7 The batting table from last season again looks positive when you consider a Performance Index criteria of 160 in Bangalore. Patidar, Karthik, Du Plessis, Maxwell and Lomror meet the criteria and only Kohli misses out. But Kohli has been a transformed man of late, regaining form and consistency since the last IPL in all formats. The main issue to address in the batting is the top three batters' SR in the powerplay. Last year, Faf's SR facing 173 balls was 119, Kohli's SR facing 116 balls was 106 and Patidar's SR facing 92 balls was 121. The stats for the last three IPL seasons in Bangalore (2017-2019) show a high reading of 50/1 in the powerplay. This is where they have to change their approach and be a little more aggressive, setting the tone for the middle and lower order - which contains two inexperienced batters in Lomror and Shahbaz Ahmed - to rack up some huge scores. Even though most of their batters in the middle and lower middle order meet the performance criteria, only Karthik has a big average. So it will be important for the top three to do a lot of the legwork on home soil. If they do so, the playoffs won't be far away for this well balanced team. 2023.03.30 19:38 autotldr Report: Global Legal Marijuana Market Valued At $13 Billion, Expected to Grow to $66 Billion by 2030
This is the best tl;dr I could make,
original reduced by 29%. (I'm a bot)
The market for legal cannabis has a global value of over $13 billion, and is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years, according to a new report.
The Global Cannabis Market Report, conducted by the research firm Contrive Datum Insights, found that as of the end of 2022 the global legal cannabis market is worth $13.43 billion.
If the market did see this kind of growth, it would represent a shockingly high compound annual growth rate of 22.1% during the forecasted period.
According to the report, North America is the largest legal market for cannabis, followed by Europe.
Noting on how cannabis has multiple compounds that conjure their own markets, the report says that "The outlook for derivatives is an important part of the cannabis market, since different derivatives can be used and have different effects. CBD is becoming more popular in the health and wellness market, while THC is used both medically and for fun. Other cannabinoids and compounds are also being studied to see if they could be used as medicines."
Authors of the report say that although some of the strictest laws and rules about cannabis are in the Middle East and Africa, some countries in those regions "Are starting to look into the possible benefits of medical cannabis, so their laws may change in the future."

2023.03.30 19:28 JazzLover_OceanView America Needs A Fast-Track 12 Step Program
2023.03.30 19:23 Chemical_Armadillo94 Severe Negative Impacts on My Mental Health - Is it time to quit?
I (28F) am so fed up with my current job. I wake up everyday dreading every aspect of my job. I work as an executive assistant to a property owner and developer. He is never in the office and so I work mainly alone under his CFO who does his job for him along with his own. I am a alone in the office every day. The only interaction I get is brief moments with tenants or people who are lost in our building. I am responsible for every last thing in this office, bottom to top; from buying toilet paper to finalizing leases. Not only do I do that for the company I officially work for, but the 3 additional companies owned by my boss, his personal properties, his medical marijuana doctors office, and a slum apartment complex he owns and barely operates, mind you, I am only paid from one of these companies; an unmotivational $17.50/hr.
I cannot do this anymore. This job offers no benefits, insurance, or even PTO. I don't know why but, I keep coming in and doing it everyday. My boss is a manchild, who inherited this company and all its properties from his father, who constantly throws tantrums and is off on another Disney trip or vacation every other week.
My father died last November, in a very traumatic and disturbing way. He was elderly and I took this job because it was in close proximity to his home. I was able to get home to him in a matter of minutes to perform CPR to no avail until the ambulance arrived. After this I look 1 week off work, my boss had our temp text me twice asking when I would be coming back during that week. It felt really inappropriate. I also did not have the option to exercise any paid time off for bereavement, even though I had barely missed any work in the time I have worked here (The only time I have taken off was for when I had Covid-19 and even then, I worked remotely).
I feel disrespected and used. My boss still has the gall to complain about my work ethic and professionalism if I'm even 5 minutes late due to traffic or illness.
I told his CFO that I wanted to put in notice that I would be leaving on December 1st 2022, I said I would stay on until the new year. He begged me to stay and assured me that we would discuss a raise and benefits to entice me to stay, I agreed on the condition that we discuss it and some real changes would have to be made. Nothing has happened since and they have not discussed it with me.
I get no sleep, my depression has skyrocketed in the past few months and I can honestly say I would be better off working retail.
Even with all of this considered, I feel guilt. I feel like I am being overly sensitive and everyone else hates working too, what makes me any different? My partner, family and friends all have expressed that they think its outrageous the way I am treated here. I'm scared I will feel this way anywhere and that I'm overreacting. My living situation would not be impacted and I have already received a few job offers for a similar position at other local companies.
I have recently hired another assistant who is working part time and I have already trained her, so I would not exactly be leaving them high and dry.
Is it time to quit? Am I overreacting to the situation? Am I doomed?

2023.03.30 19:08 brooklynlad Gen-Z Graduates Stare Down Their First Student Loan Payments
Source: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-03-30/when-do-student-loan-payments-resume-borrowers-dread-restart-later-this-year?srnd=premium Paywall Bypass: https://archive.is/PnJyB Gen-Z Graduates Stare Down Their First Student Loan Payments
- Three years after the pandemic-era freeze was introduced, millions of recent graduates have yet to see a student loan bill.
Millions of students graduated during the pandemic with student debt. They have yet to make a single payment.
The moratorium on federal student loan payments, which began three years ago this month, has given recent graduates the financial freedom to pay down debt, boost their credit scores and simply cover everyday expenses at a time of high inflation and economic uncertainty. All that is set to change soon, with payments scheduled to resume later this year.
The restart is likely to be a jolt for nearly everyone with federal student loans (private loans weren’t part of the pause), but perhaps no cohort will feel it quite like Generation Freeze, which has never had to budget for it. That’s likely to slow consumer spending and
hurt the economy, according to a recent report from financial services firm Jefferies.“
The loans being paused was great because I paid the minimum for my private loans and that was it,” said Alix Chronister, a 24-year-old in Kansas City, Missouri. “If I had had to pay on my federal loans, my financial situation would have been a lot more stressful.”
End of an Era
The first 60-day repayment pause was issued by President Donald Trump on March 20, 2020, when the onset of the pandemic sent the economy into a tailspin. Three years, multiple extensions and one presidential administration later, the freeze is still in place and about 11 million people have since completed undergraduate degrees. Of those,
an estimated 70% leave college with student debt.
But the freeze era is drawing to a close. President Joe Biden
said in late November that payments will resume 60 days after the Supreme Court rules on his one-time
forgiveness program or June 30, whichever comes first. That puts the restart date at no later than Aug. 29, and the first monthly installment would be due by the end of September.
For Chronister, that means a big financial adjustment is coming. She graduated in 2021 with $38,000 in private and federal loans and currently works as a chemist in a research facility. She has prioritized paying off the private loans, which make up $8,000 of her total balance.
The freeze was particularly useful because she was making $15 an hour at her first post-collegiate job, amounting to about $30,000 a year.
She’s eligible for $20,000 in forgiveness if the Supreme Court rules in favor of Biden’s plan — but she’s not holding her breath.“I think I’m really lucky to have had the pause, and it definitely benefited me and people who graduated around the same time,” she said. “We’ve had a chance to get our careers situated before worrying about paying.”
The average
monthly payment before the pandemic pause was $393, according to the Federal Reserve. About 20 million
borrowers were actively paying down their debt, while others were in default or had their payments deferred due to hardship or forbearance.
Depending on a borrower’s personal financial situation, the return of student loan bills won’t be like flicking an immediate “on” switch. Travis Hornsby, founder of financial service website Student Loan Planner, can see a case where some borrowers might not be expected to pay for another year or two based on their income. New rules for
income-driven repayment plans would also widen the net for those who may qualify for a $0 monthly bill, and cap payments at no more than 5% of discretionary income for others.“
Compared to what payments used to be, a lot of people are going to be very much eased into repayment,” said Hornsby. That would help not only fresh college grads, but single parents and others who were previously at risk of default. “The freeze is sort of being thawed.”
Looming Bills
The freeze means many recent graduates have never had to factor federal student loan repayments into their monthly budgets, a helpful absence as prices rise for everything from eggs to rent. In a
recent survey by personal-finance company Credit Karma , 26% of borrowers said they hadn’t saved any money during the freeze because they were prioritizing everyday expenses. Almost 70% said their financial situation was stagnant or declined in 2022.
For Madison Sasser in Tampa, Florida, the freeze gave her time to figure out her career trajectory without having to worry about an additional monthly bill. The 24-year-old graduated from the University of South Florida in December 2020 with $15,000 in student debt.
She initially wanted to go to law school but decided it was too expensive. Now, she’s working on building a career as a writer while waiting tables at a restaurant during the day, and makes about $38,000 a year.
The return of monthly payments is going to significantly strain her budget, she said, especially due to the high rents in Tampa.
The average starting salary for a member of the class of 2021 is $55,911, according to
a July 2022 analysis by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. For young people who live in big cities and lack the financial and career flexibility to move to places with lower costs of living, those early salaries
may not stretch very far.
Matthew Sánchez, a 23-year-old compliance officer who lives in Long Island, New York, says having to repay his loans will be stressful.
“For me personally, I can probably make do and adjust,” he said, though he expects he’ll have to delay a move to Maryland, which he’s trying to plan because it’s more affordable.
He’s bracing for a monthly payment of $300 on $27,000 in federal loans. He knows he’s on the luckier side: “I’m always thinking about how this affects my demographic, broadly speaking. I can see the frustration people have.”

2023.03.30 19:00 Future_Vehicle_8307 22 Blue in 2022: 'THE QUICK LIST'
22 Blue in 2022: 'THE LIST'
Build Supermajorities of Democrats in the US House and US Senate
Here’s “22 Blue in 2022: ‘A Quick List’”:
- Florida 2. Ohio 3. Kansas 4. North Carolina 5. Kentucky 6. Arizona7. South Carolina 8. Georgia 9. Texas 10. Michigan 11. Nevada 12. Pennsylvania13. Missouri 14. Wisconsin 15. Iowa 16. Arkansas 17. Oklahoma 18. Indiana19. Colorado 20. Alabama 21. South Dakota 22. North Dakota
The 2022 Midterm Election is the most important midterm of our lifetime.Democrats must behave as if our lives depend on this midterm, because our future depends on the outcome.
”We the people” must deny the Republican party political power at every level of government for decades to come “in order to create a more perfect union.” With 48 States having some statewide contest(s), November 8th, 2022 is our best chance the Democrats will get to do that for the rest of this decade, at least.
”The List” encourages the election of a Democratic Supermajority in the US Senate in 2022. This is the best chance we will have to create a Democratic Supermajority in both Chambers of Congress for the remainder of this decade. This midterm could be a devastating loss for the democrats if good patriots ignore this election. If Americans of good conscience band together instead, we could could begin the exile of the Republican party from power, not for years, but for decades to come.
“The List” is a set of suggestions about where to focus collective activism today.
The election of Democratic Supermajorities to both chambers of the US Congress is the best outcome we can strive towards in the 2022 Midterm Election for many reasons. Among them: breaking the decade of gridlock in Congress, supporting President Biden’s agenda, and his re-election in 2024. My personal favorite is that this could commence the decades-long political banishment of the GOP from power, which the Republican Party so richly deserves.
The Republican party has proved itself treasonous on many levels. They are traitors to Humanity by supporting Trump. Traitors to the Nation for supporting Putin. Traitors to the government and betrayers of the constitution through their apologies for the 1/6/21 insurrection. To safeguard our country and the world, we must block the Republicans from power at the ballot box, at all levels of government, for at least a generation.
Political game playing may be inevitable among humans. Change the numbers, and then change the rules, if not the game. Cynical refusal to play at this time in history cedes power to NAZIs manipulated by Active Measures. That is a surrender to crypto fascism, not radical thinking, mere cynicism, or hipsterism.
In 2022, Patriots must unify to crush the Republican Party at the ballot box. We can defeat them in every State, at every level. We need the biggest turnout at the voting booth of any Midterm ever. We need to raise more money for candidates and organizations than we did during the entire 2020 campaign season if we are to accomplish this. We need to do this in the next six months.
This is what a “Blue Tsunami” REALLY looks like.
Electing a Democratic Supermajority in Congress is our hope for the future and retribution for America’s enemies. “22 Blue in 2022” is a roadmap to the beginning of that journey. “22 Blue in 2022” is our war plan. ”22 Blue in 2022” is our electoral battle cry. “22 Blue in 2022” is a way forward out of gridlock, a way to non-violently thwart those who would poison the body politic with their hate.
If we don’t try this hard in 2022, Trump will go unpunished and metastasize by 2024.
Resist In Power, my sisters, my brothers, and my others.
Resist Together, and elect a Congressional Supermajority in 2022!

2023.03.30 19:00 swedish_wisdom Social gemenskap i dagens samhälle och min mobbninghistoria
Okej.

We will meet at 10 am in the parking lot and hike the trail together to see the beautiful geological features of the area while walking on wooded hiking trails. Right off US 319 south of Tallahassee, the Leon Sinks Geological Area contains 5 miles of trails leading to a series of sinkholes big and small. The land in this area is underlain by a layer of limestone, eroded and dissolved by rainwater and groundwater to form caverns, holes, and tunnels. This type of terrain is called "karst" and results in many geological features such as wet sinkholes, depressions, natural bridges and a disappearing stream. The hikers can either hike the 3.6-mile Sinkhole Trail to view the numerous sinkholes and geological features, or the 2.8-mile Gum Swamp Trail around a cypress and gum swamp. We recommend wear hiking shoes and bring a water bottle, and consider bug spray or long pants/sleeves. 10am
