My darling other half is a gentle soul. His work requires a lot of driving and so recently he started listening to podcasts, including the big Joe R. That was fine with me, but today he messaged me saying he’s really enjoying an episode starring…the lover of the patriarchy…the psychologist…JP. I was devastated. At first I approached calmly and tried to explain that he’s basically anti-everything important to me (I am a bi tree-hugging woman of colour with a trans man for a best friend), but that if he wanted to listen to him it’s fine so long as he does his research. He argued that it’s how he is portrayed in the media. After a bunch of voice messages back and forth, I’m at a loss on how to get him to see that he’s idolising and falling for the tricks of someone who would see my best friend dead before calling him a man. He has never had any views like this. If anything he’s progressive. I’m just kind of stunned and I don’t know what to do?

I just… I dunno man. I don’t know how I feel anymore. There was this dood I liked in hs for like…. a long ass time, got rejected but we were still close friends and he helped make me who I was today, and I am proud of him for growing too. Slowly we drifted as we got to college even though we go to the same one. I learned he got a significant other, also not a problem I’m ridiculously happy for him on that since he always says “I have no friends” or “no one will ever love me.” But what is this pain in my chest. I killed off emotions for him already after knowing him for 7 years. And I am already trying to talk to other people if you will. So why do I feel empty? I learned that he has had friends at his house and watched movies or gone to a theater with friends. I haven’t ever been extended that offer even though we used to chat late into the night. I guess I never noticed I was always the one to reach out first. We supported each other though, I helped him with his family issues he taught me self defense to help with mine, we’ve eaten together gone airsofting. Why do I feel like I have missed so much. I just can’t think anymore… I don’t know if he even was my friend. And he did all of this out of pity. I mean I wouldn’t be surprised. I am a bit of what he titled me “a tsundere” but I managed to tone it down so I would be able to properly convey gratitude or admirations. I learned the people that I am relatively close with are better friends with him than I, which is to be expected… I’m lost. People there are still really nice to me and are relatively fine though I could definitely use some more social awareness. But where do I go from here, what is this weird pain? Why do I feel so left out?

I posted about this the other day, about how we were each other’s first everything and about how he had ended things over text, a few weeks before my birthday, while I was out with a group of girl friends for the first time in a year. Today my friend sent me a screenshot of him, holding another girl, on his story. I messaged him to make sure that they were only sexual after our relationship ended because they both looked like they had just been intimate with one another (purely to know whether or not to get tested), they weren’t while we were together - but they are now. It’s only been 6 days since our relationship ended. He asked for the vinyls that he gifted me for my birthday last year back when I asked him about his hook-up. He eventually told me to stop playing the victim when I told him that the situation was hurtful, and that I wanted to keep the vinyls. I am so shocked and hurt.

I (M35) haven't posted before, and thought people might be interested in our family's journey so far (M35, F34, two kids almost 3 and 6 months old). We're based in the South East in Commuter belt territory - 1 hour train into London for work.
This has turned into a bunch of tables more than I expected, but hopefully conveys our journey so far, salary progression, and expenses.

Net worth Progression
To note: We bought our first property (2 bed house, commuter belt) in Dec 2015 with £39k (10%) down and £5k to stamp duty, £2k solicitor fees. I borrowed £7k interest free from relatives which I paid back over two years - and my wife had saved her half. Neither of us have had any significant inheritances (<£2k).
We first heard of FIRE thanks to the crypto rabbit hole leading me to Reddit. None of my family had ever really invested - I started DD'ing £100 a month to get used to the ups and downs and gradually got accustomed to it (Probably helped by my small crypto holding crashing and burning multiple times).

Despite the big jumps in investments - a very small proportion is in Crypto (£4-6k) - Haven't checked in a while. The majority is in Global All Cap within Vanguard (Probably should look at moving away from Vanguard soon due to the amounts in here), with some in shares in my wife's company (I keep pestering her to sell them but she hasn't yet).
Our mantra early on was to overpay on the mortgage (2 bed) so that we could eventually ladder up. As we became a bit more accustomed to risk, we started investing rather than overpaying.

A few years ago I tracked every expense. This fell off the cliff at some point, and I can't even blame it on Covid and the kids. I do go through my bank statements once a month so have a rough idea of what we spend. It isn't tracked meticulously anymore though.
We have two cars - a 2018 Astra (55k miles) which we bought from new (our last car in the pcp cycle), and a 2016 Mazda 6 bought in 2021 (110k miles). We financed car after car throughout our 20s (although only 1 at a time) until we learnt about FIRE.
Home improvements have generally come out of bonuses. But bonuses have also been lumped into pensions to get under £100k these past 2 years. Hopefully Home improvements will reduce in the future as we are near finishing the adjustments to the property that we plan on staying in for the next 20+ years.

Savings Rate and FIRE
Our savings rate is (£1500 Pensions + £1200 ISAs) / (£1500 Pensions + £7500 take home) = ~ 30% which according to MMM would mean 28 years if we started at zero. This is ignoring bonuses that make it a bit harder to calculate.
Given we have a £318k starting point, I expect we will be at our loose target of £1.2m (giving £40k/year spend at current prices at a 3.3% SWR) by M50/F49, so 14 years to go (Surprisingly, this matches MMM starting at zero at M22/F21). This is assuming 5% Investment Growth after inflation, paying off the mortgage [to make calculations simpler], and no bonuses. At 7% this reduces by 1 year to M49/F48. At 10% growth this reduces to M46/F45.
I am yet to do an assessment on whether we will have enough in ISAs to bridge the gap but don't see it as too urgent. We don't currently fill our ISAs each year - I'm amazed that some of you do despite earning a lot less than ourselves.
In general, we have a great lifestyle with an okay savings rate. I don't think there is anything ground-breaking in here - just following the slow and steady advice. We could cut back and FIRE quicker, but we're living the life we want and saving for it.

Basically since June I’ve been on BR tax code so I’ve been paying 20% on everything I’ve earned. PAYE App says I should only have to pay £845 tax this year, but I’ve paid over £2000 in tax this tax year.
The gov website says it will be in my payslip at the end of the tax year but I got my slip today for end of the month and not only have I have been taxed again but there’s nothing about a tax rebate on there.
I’ve tried using the gov tax return calculator and it says it will be on my payslip.

TL;DR — The Dream of The Future has not been forgotten.
As a child of the 1980s, I had a glimpse of a world that never came to fruition. It was the World of Tomorrow. It wasn't a place—but a time in which humanity attained a prosperous and progressive civilization. A time where our challenges were met with intellect, compassion, and fortitude. In this future world, our differences were appreciated and our similarities—celebrated. This world was a wonder of inspiration and innovation.
Though I was young when I received this glimpse—I was left with an impression upon me that would never subside. The stage on which this glimpse was presented was called EPCOT—i.e., the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. I doubt there are many who have not heard of this once unique and ambitious, futuristic and cultural—showcase. Though, what once was—is currently a shell of its former self.
This post isn't meant to be a retrospective on an obsolete theme park—however, the message that the park conveyed is relevant to this point.
For those familiar with EPCOT (pre 21st century), the sentiment I convey may resonate with you. There were a multitude of inspiring pavilions and attractions to experience—though, one in particular, stands out as a shining example of EPCOT's theme and intent. It was a dark ride known as Horizons. For those fortunate enough to experience Horizons first hand—I have no doubt that you comprehend the lasting impact this 15-minute journey through time and space has had for so many.
Horizons was a glimpse into a hypothetical 21st Century “Tomorrow.” It was wondrous and astonishing, to say the least. Upon completion of this journey—once exited, I remember being left with a profound longing to be a part of that world. I was young and impressionable—yet certain that I would live to see its ambitious predictions come to fruition.
A few years after my initial experience at EPCOT, a television program premiered that would go on to have an impact as profound as that of Horizons, for me. The program was Star Trek: The Next Generation. It was as if I was granted a glimpse even further into Tomorrow—one that was the natural evolution of what Horizons had dreamt to be.
Still so young and impressionable—I was certain that what I was seeing on the screen was what was in store for mankind.
The idea of the 21st Century and beyond was enthralling to me; it couldn't arrive soon enough!
As a teenager at the turn of the century, as well as the new millennium—I felt our greatest days were just around the bend. However, a catastrophic sobering event would come to alter my perception on where we were headed as a species. That event was the coordinated attacks that took place on September 11, 2001. At the time, I was still naive to the complexities of how our planet is governed—and exactly who and what—was governing it. However, the events of that day forced me to ask daunting questions and seek relevant answers. One thing was immediately clear to me… the way I perceived our world, and its future, would forever be altered.
For the first time, I began to question if our best days were ahead, or if that optimistic glimpse I believed possible—was but a fantasy. This was a jarring realization.
For the next couple of decades that proceeded—I watched this planet and its inhabitants further delve into despair and peril. Once upon a time, humanity believed that its best days were before them. Today, this is far from the zeitgeist.
Across the globe—the prevailing perception for so many—is that we are currently living in a dystopia—in which, our most deleterious consequences are unfolding at an exponential rate.
This troubles me greatly—as I am now a parent; anxious about the world that my offspring is inheriting. With the tsunami of engineered inequality, wars, violence, pollution, and strife—that so many suffer from daily—finding the silver lining can be quite difficult.
Difficult as it may be—it is not impossible. There IS a silver lining. As I desire not to be ambiguous nor esoteric—I will tell you that the silver lining is the fact that—with awareness comes understanding. And with understanding, comes contemplation. Contemplation is a remarkable facet of one's mind—as it compels one to realize that there ARE options. When options are available—decisions are ripe for the taking. And once a decision has been made—action can be put in motion.
The question we must ask of ourselves now is — What comes next? What do we want out of this brief experience called “Life?” Because, I for one, am not content with the way this world is unfolding. I do not like where the disharmony is leading us to. Humanity is being perpetually manipulated by nihilistic and even—sadistic influences. Division is aggressively fueled by the Powers That Be—to inhibit Unity.
Earth, and her inhabitants—are a complex and delicate phenomenon. So many disagree on so much; one's utopia is another's dystopia.
Though, there are those of us who collectively long for a desirable Tomorrow. We may have differing ideas on how to achieve this; yet, our end goal is the same… to thrive in a world of our own making and collective contributions—for the greater of the self, as well as the other.
This message is dedicated to all those who resonate with its contents. I want you to know that despite these often dark times—there is light at the end of the tunnel. For those of you who desire something greater than the status quo — I invite you to join us in engineering our Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow.

Just logged on today for the update after finally having enough CC saved up for Ri’kan’s armor set only to find that it was no longer listed. Usually with newer armor sets they stick around for at least a year+. Anyone know why this one didn’t?
I looked around all the forums and patch updates but didn’t see any news about it. Just curious if this is going to be a temporary removal like with Darth Vindican’s lightsaber or if it is gone for the foreseeable future?

I have been trying for the past 20 days to move my domain away from OVH. I could not get EPP code from them (i followed the instructions they provided) but it keeps saying ' An error occurred retrieving the AUTH/INFO code (Internal server error) '
Raised a ticket and received a reply after 10 days, yes 10 days saying "which domain is it for?" - why not read the ticket, it mentions the domain name clearly. Anyway, I responded with the domain name and today is 11th day since their last reply.

TLDR: My case is complex and fixing it will take a ridiculous amount of money and I desperately would like advice for getting insurance to cover surgery (for someone who doesn't have a typical case like underbite or sleep apnea)

I've had some lovely jaw problems tmd and upper jaw asymmetry (causing bite problems) as a result of bad ortho in the past that I've been getting treated with a splint and stuff
I always knew my positioning of everything and the way my joints are were pretty out of the norm and I knew that ortho would not cut it due to how far off my lower jaw in its proper position sits from my teeth lining up - think major crossbite when I have the splint in - maybe I'll post pics sometime
Had an appointment today and got told that surgery was, yes, my only option at this point, but also that a whole network of people across the U.S. that my guy has pretty much said they would not want to do surgery on me because of all that it would involve
Basically would need double jaw surgery with some pretty non-straightforward movements and total joint replacement because even in the correct bite position (with no pain) I get popping and they wouldn't want to risk relapse or further joint issues

My guy told me there would be only 2 surgeons he would recommend one in California and one in St Louis (which would mean lots and lots of money and travel and such as well)
Either I live with the huge bulky splint forever with noticeable visual asymmetry and other general discomforts and difficulty eating
Or I (and my family) find some way to get insurance to cover some or most of it because otherwise we would never be able to afford it which is sort of scary news
Anyways if anyone has any advice for going through a weird process like this and getting insurance to maybe cover anything or whatnot would super highly appreciate it <3

I removed everything that I should for a month and started to feel great! Tried to start more foods since I was losing weight and I’m pregnant so I needed to start gaining. Anyway I felt fine for 2 weeks and on Monday my stomach hurt but it disappeared when I ate lunch. Then yesterday it happened again before lunch and around 3 pm after snacks but disappeared after lunch and dinner. Noticed that the pain started with bread and cereals so ate oatmeal today at breakfast felt fine. Needed something to eat at uni so took a sandwich and now it’s back! Can it be gluten? Feels weird since warm pasta has worked fine and the pain disappears when eating hot foods.
