Before I can let out the horrifying shock of what I just saw Luz and Camila end up driving to a therapist, unlike the rest of the episode the scene was really calm, Luz was talking about the incident while also talking about how Eda and King sacrificed themselves to keep Luz safe. Then as the therapy session was going to wrap up Luz spotted Boscha in the hallway, when the camera pointed back to Luz who had a shadow smothering her face with only a white pupil and a massive grin peeking out of the darkness, suddenly Luz smashed the emergency box, grabbed the axe and lunged at Boscha as she repeatedly smashed her face in, each time the axe swung into Boscha’s face I flinched a little, after Luz was done her face was completely unidentifiable and Luz wasn’t looking so hot either, her eyes turned into black voids with nothing but a single white dot shining through the darkness, then Luz walked through the door as she started stalking the blonde girl at her school before chopping her head off, I decided I saw enough and tried to deject the disk but it wouldn’t budge, So I was forced to watch Luz as she committed several accounts of murder, at one point after she killed off some emo kid she hid into her house and started creating a pentagram, luckily the sound was cut off for this part so I didn’t have to hear what she was talking about. Then a portal opened to the demon realm as she stepped in and began the killing, the next scenes were more brutal than her other kills, she started killing off most of the Hexside students 1 by 1 including Boscha’s friends. Finally after Luz chopped Viney’s limbs off Bria started shooting at her with a glock she found in the human realm, suddenly they started running, as Bria was running through the town the radio started playing that described skara’s death, “ victim #1 eyeballs and skin were unable to be found, unidentified fingerprints were found near the corpse’s neck”. Bria runs into a dead end in an abandoned house, but before Luz could land a swing the door locks behind her as the building burns down, Bria manages to escape as they call the authorities. My heart finally calmed down, but when I started to take deep breaths Luz sprung up this time with taller limbs made of obsidian and jagged teeth and started killing the guards, suddenly before Luz could kill the final guard a title card popped up reading "Any massacre at midnight” as a depressing piano song played in the background. I was finally able to shut the TV off, but it didn’t even matter at this point. Ever since that day Whenever my friends talk about the owl house I have flashbacks to that fateful night. And it didn’t help that whenever I tried to watch “any sport in the storm” it just sent me to a screen that said “Sorry but the episode can not be found please come back another time” with a black background, and even when I pirated it I just got a very creepy portrait of Luz with a photorealistic pair of eyes and a small, white toothed smile that just kept saying “piracy is a crime”. I don’t really know how to end off this story, I don’t even have any tips on how to steer clear of this episode, I didn’t pirate it, I didn’t buy it from a weird man like most stories, I didn’t even play with an ouija board. But if you ever see this episode just turn the volume to 0, put a blanket over it and have a great sleep.

I finally found a clip of the Rave’n scene between Weems and Thornhill, and turns out the poster has the same Garrett theory I do.

But I don’t think Thornhill and Weems are working together, necessarily, though I also wouldn’t be surprised.
So to recap from a comment I made on my other post, I think Weems was referring to Garrett when she told Thornhill she was jilted by an unnamed boy for Morticia.
The storyline basically puts Gomez and Morticia in each others arms from the get-go, not really leaving room for anyone to be involved with either one. So why would Weems even think it possible that Gomez would consider going to the dance with anyone but Morticia? And in the present, Weems barely acknowledges Gomez, seeming more annoyed by him than anything (the scene when Weems wants the Addams’ to go to family therapy). And the grudge, why hold it that long if it was Gomez? He’s still alive, there’d still be a chance, but Garrett’s death means there’s no chance.
I think the kicker is Weems’ reaction to finding out Laurel’s alive and behind the killings. She seems more empathetic than angry or mad. I mean, that crazy lady has been killing people and students! Yet Weems showed more anger toward Wednesday after the statute-melting event than she did when confronting a serial killer. Why didn’t she snatch-up Thornhill instead of merely asking that she not make it harder than it already is? And that last line, it’s almost as if she might have even embraced Thornhill because she understood Laurel was operating under the grief of losing her brother (and fam), which she too understands.
Then again…maybe Weems was helping Thornhill gather body parts to bring Garrett back to life, then Wednesday showed up and Thornhill went rogue because she knew Wednesday could unlock the blood oath/lock on her ancestor’s curse. I mean, why waste all that magic reanimating one person when you could destroy a whole community you hate, with another?
The way this show leaves so many things open to interpretation, inadvertently or purposefully…chef’s kiss for sure.

hey! so i’m 18, graduated from high school last year and currently on a gap year working part-time at a local pet store.
i’ve gone extremely back and forth on what to study, hence why i’m on a gap year in the first place. computer science seems to be the way to go but i don’t want to spend the next 40 years doing something i’m uninterested in. money is important to me but so is not being miserable.
i’ve always loved animals, and recently i’ve been looking into becoming a vet. i have decent grades from school, but not in anything like chemistry, physics, etc, and i’ve only got a B in biology, so i wouldn’t be able to get into an undergrad vet university course with the grades i have now. i’m wondering if it’d be worth doing an undergrad in something like biology, animal science, etc, to get into vet school? or something that’d make a good backup if the vet thing doesn’t go to plan.

A few weeks ago, I matched with a girl on Hinge. On her profile she mentions that she’s not necessarily looking for a partner, and more so to meet people and hear their stories. In that same bio, she says that she’s open to dating if something comes of it. A week ago, we met up for coffee on the pretext of it being a casual hang out (my idea and by my own initiation). Afterwards we exchanged numbers. She had to leave after an hour, but later that day she reached out and asked if I was free for a drink/dinner that night. I couldn’t do so, but the next day we planned to get dinner. Lasted for 2 & 1/2 hours, conversation flowed. Walked her to her train, hugged, and went our ways.
Since then, we’ve been texting semi-frequently throughout the day. She’s recently opened up to me about stuff with her parents.
I know it’s only been a week, but I find myself really liking her. She’s smart, easygoing, communicative, and beautiful.
I feel like I want to casually express how I feel, because it’s important to communicate. It’s not like we’re long-term friends or anything, but I can’t tell if she’s already “friend zoned” me or not. So, I was inspired this year to pick up Mage 20th and actually try running Mage. Prior to this I had actually played in an Ascension game of some stripe, but I was the new guy at the tail end of a campaign so a lot didn't sink in. And then new lines launched, and I played some Awakening.
But I definitely didn't want *that* setting for this campaign.
But that has left me trying to figure out how Mage works based on Mage 20... (so that I can, for example, help my players understand what they can and can't do) and it's not easy.
So. Thanks to my plot (they've encountered something that falls squarely into the Extra-Dimensional Entity bucket that is supernaturally infectious/corrupting), one of my players asked me about using their Dimensional Science 3 to protect against that.
Now, logically, Dimensional Science seems like the right Sphere to provide some kind of defensive countermeasures against an EDE wearing you like a glove. (It's not even like it's Spirit, where one can argue the main point is to use spirits to do stuff; as I understand it, the Void Engineer philosophy revolves around combatting EDEs, not making friends with them)
"How Do You Do That" lays out things like Wards and Minor Wards and whatnot, but they all have pre-requisites from other Spheres (Prime, Correspondence, Life, sometimes Matter). So that's mostly a long list of mechanical effects the PC definitely cannot do. (they do have Data, but not 4/4)
(no, I'm not actually running a Technocracy Agents game, the PC in question is just a very materialistic Virtual Adept, but frankly there's been at least one NPC who was outright surprised to discover this PC wasn't actually a Void Engineer)

So. With Data 3 and Dimensional Science 3, what can you do about about an EDE (or, more accurately, many such EDEs) that infects, corrupts, and assimilates people?

Apart from shoot it. I mean "what can you do to not get infected yourself". Although if people have any ideas on gadgets/plans I could pass on, go for it. They could use the help, they're not very confident about what they can do.

My idea is when the spell description says the caster's time frame is sped up to the point that everything else slows to a complete halt (roughly describes), I thought what if the caster's "time frame" refers to bubble-like field encompassing their entire body. This field extends from any significant part of their body (a finger, a nail, the skin, even hair follicles that are still part of the main body mass emit this field). This 'field' I call a P.T.A.F., as in Personal Temporal Acceleration Field. If the PTAF extends from the body mass, as well as the mass of any item the caster can operate individually (i.e. a tool like a shovel, a weapon like a sword, a wand, a potion bottle, basically any personal item that might qualify as a magic item that a single person can use) *while it is still in contact with the caster*, basically the field extends out to *approximately* 2 centimeters, give or take a few millimeters. Any and all (with a few exceptions that have yet to be determined) matter (all atoms and molecules of any kind) and energy (all forms of such as kinetic, gravitational, photonic, thermal, every type) comes to a 'complete halt' outside of the PTAF, and that which is inside the PTAF functions 'normally'. Simply put, everything inside the field is accelerated with the caster, everything outside is not. Energy and matter entering the PTAF immediately accelerates form 'normal' speed to 190% of, average speed I'll call it. E&m exiting the PTAF returns to average speed at a rate of 10% per "some amount of seconds" (I have not determined that quite yet). Basically an arrow shot from the caster's longbow travels 10% percent of the normal distance until it comes to a halt, as does all e&m exiting the field. E&m entering the field causes the caster to move at 10% the normal rate that they would move in complete 'average' time, i.e. if the caster walks at 30ft normally then they now move 10% of 30ft; 3ft per 'round' of accelerated time. A sword slash from the caster to an opponent deals the normal damage (it is in contact with the caster) it would but any effect after that (the blood spatter, etc.) would be "frozen in time". Said arrow stated earlier deals normal damage too, once time resumes, assuming the arrow does reach its target, otherwise the arrow functions as normal (I think) when shot at less than 10% of its max range. Essentially, e&m immediately accelerates upon entering the PTAF and becomes temporally active to the caster, and upon leaving the PTAF e&m slows back to a halt at a rate of 10% per round. That sounds about right. Also energy held in stopped time also has its functions stopped (fire does not burn until time resumes or enters accelerated time in the PTAF). I apologize for the Lengthy! explanation, and I think I now see several faults with this system. The initial question though, lol, was how would e&m exiting the PTAF effect realty subsequently, once time resumes?

I am sure nothing like that has ever happened but how would you react if something like that did happen. And they also were disgusted by the guards at Guantanamo Bay.

adayfi: Yes, and Ron DeSantis was there watching us. We were crying, screaming. We were tied to the feeding chair. And he was watching. He was laughing. Our stomachs could not hold this amount of Ensure. They poured one can after another. So when he approached me, I said, “This is the way we are treated!” He said, “You should eat.” I threw up in his face. Literally on his face.
prysner: Ron DeSantis?
adayfi: In his face. Yeah.
prysner: It was well deserved. A JAG lawyer at the time, he would have been well aware this was a violation of international law. There is no question that it was torture.
adayfi: They used to restrain us in that feeding chair. They tied our head, our shoulders, our wrists, our thighs, and our legs. They put some kind of laxative in the feeding liquid. We were shitting ourselves all the time. Then we were moved to solitary confinement—really cold cells. It was like five times a day. It wasn’t feeding. It was just torture. Five times a day. You can’t possibly handle it. They just kept pouring the Ensure. In one week, they broke all the hunger strikers. And he was there. All of them were watching. They also used to beat us. And if we screamed or were bleeding out of our nose and mouth, they were like, “Eat.” The only word they told you was “eat.” We were beaten all day long. Whatever you were doing—they just beat you. Pepper spray, beating, sleep deprivation. That continued for three months. And he was there. He was one of the people that supervised the torture, the abuses, the beatings. All the time at Guantánamo.
prysner: So Ron DeSantis was actually supervising torture, beatings? He was supervising these force-feedings?
adayfi: I’m telling Americans: this guy is a torturer. He is a criminal. He was laughing. And he was there to ensure we were treated humanely.
prysner: He was laughing?
adayfi: Yes, they were looking at us, laughing because we were shitting ourselves. I was screaming and yelling. When your stomach is full of Ensure you can’t breathe. And you are throwing up at the same time. I was screaming. I looked at him and he was actually smiling. Like someone who was enjoying it.
One of the things that hurt us was, you know, when someone comes and tells you, “I’m here to help you, I’m here to ensure that you are treated humanely,” and when he turned against us—not turned against us, showed his true face—it was a shock to us all. He had his notebook. He would ask the prisoners, “Do you have any problems? How can I help you? How have the guards treated you?” I was like, “Wow, thanks!” But everything we told him was turned against us.
prysner: So he basically was gathering intelligence to tell the interrogators what it was that was impacting you most so they could do it more.
adayfi: I remember when we were talking about the noise in the night. We were talking about the vacuums, the generators, the fans, and everything. And they brought more stuff.
prysner: You told DeSantis this and then they increased the noise?
adayfi: They increased the noise. And also the food, for example. We told him we don’t eat meat. What the guards did after that is they mixed all the food with meat.
prysner: And that’s another thing you told DeSantis?
adayfi: It’s not just that. Medicine. Clothing. Treatment. Sleeping. The desecration of the Qur’an. Everything. We talked to him. When they were force-feeding us, he was smiling. Looking at us as trash.
prysner: You told me there was a resistance tactic there, of splashing administrators? Splashing them with your own feces? But you didn’t use this tactic often?
adayfi: Only the worst of the worst got splashed.
prysner: DeSantis?
adayfi: Yes.
