UPDATE!! my mom impersonated me to police and committed fraud

2023.03.29 03:10 salemsocks UPDATE!! my mom impersonated me to police and committed fraud

I’m never too sure how to post updates for all those who commented to see. I know Everyone had been asking for an update, so here goes! If you’re new to the situation, please see my last post from yesterday!
for those who don’t know , my mom was pulled over for a traffic violation and used my identity to prevent herself from going to jail 3 months ago. She used my identity and signed my name for the ticket. I was never made aware and received a letter about the impending suspension of my license for not appearing to court. She never admitted it despite my extreme worry and confusion over it. **
I went to the police station today and spoke to a very kind officer who helped me file a police report. He asked all the necessary questions and said that it’s very much considered “criminal impersonation”. And that I can press charges against her. Since she has a warrant already from the county , it would make the whole process easier. Unfortunately I had therapy and had to cut the visit short and a little while later the officer called me to update me and let me know that he was working on filing it and speaking to the officer who pulled her over that night . Maybe 20 minutes later my dad calls to let me know that she’s banging on the door of his house and so I take the opportunity to call the officer and make him aware that she’s at my house. Within 6 minutes they arrive there, and begin to arrest her for the warrant . The officer walks up to her and says “you have pending charges against you for identity theft. Did you drive that car and use your daughters information?” She admitted it.
And the officer says , “why would you do that to your own daughter?” Which honestly made me wanna high five the guy. So they took her away to jail. And I FEEL SO RELIEVED!!!!!
However, I do plan to try filing a restraining order against her in the meantime.!
Thank you all for your wonderful comments and I appreciate the kind words!!!

2023.03.29 03:04 faye38 My little sister’s r8pist is being considered for early parole.

My(21) little sister’s (15) r8pist (25) is being considered for parole. Long story short this was 4 1/2 years ago he was sentenced to 7 years. He was my boyfriend and he hurt her, he bragged about it on 4chan and I found it and he went to jail. This happened in Lee county Georgia, he’s since been transferred to central state prison and the letter we received came from Atlanta. Basically I have heard from many people that he isn’t taken accountability/ is lying about it. He’s not ready to be released and it would be a huge mistake for the judge to make. He preys upon vulnerable people. My question is- to argue against his appeal do they only want a letter from the victim? Or could I and the people he has corresponded with since being in prison write to the judge as well asking for him not to be released.
I need to submit this information by Thursday of next week. I’ll answer questions. He is the scariest person I’ve ever known and it goes further than what he was charged for. I wasn’t expecting this so soon. Help, if any, would be so appreciated.

2023.03.28 20:17 yetanotheralanon I'm at the end of a rope that keeps getting longer

Hello. My spouse (F) and I (M) are in our 30s. We have a toddler son. Yesterday I had to call the police a second time on my spouse. She's currently in jail.

Backstory:
We married 5 years ago after meeting online. I went into it knowing she was diagnosed bipolar but she was managing it with Lithium and Xanax and we were a great couple. She had her own job. We would drink socially. At the wedding her sister-in-law left the wedding early and that really made my spouse mad. It made her so mad that she went into a deep depression, was going to attempt suicide by pills, and her doctor had her picked up by police. She had her bipolar meds changed. The new meds didn't help. She started drinking shots immediately after coming home from work. She ended up losing her job due to not wanting to go and quit it. She tried a few other jobs but kept drinking, kept getting angry at things, and quit those jobs. I had a stash of liquor to make cocktails. I had to hide the stash. Then throw away the stash when she found it. She kept drinking. Nothing in my mind said "hey she's an alcoholic, she needs help" -- I thought it was all related to her mental health and medicine. She tried to get a psychiatrist. The first one said to stop drinking. She wouldn't stop so the psychiatrist said she would not see her anymore. The next psychiatrist saw her a few times and then passed her off to another psychiatrist. She saw the third one for a few years. Tinkering with meds. Added Adderall. Still drinking. She wanted a child. She revised her meds to not cause problems for a child with help of her doctors. She became pregnant. She didn't stop drinking the first few weeks. I begged her to stop and she eventually stopped and switched to non-alcoholic beers (still bad, but I only know that now)... After our child was born she started drinking again. She got to a point of physically hitting me and I called the police the first time. The police took her to the county psychiatric hospital... yes, the one that is basically an insane asylum. She was there about 8 hours before they released her without doing anything. She tried working with her psychiatrist again to tweak meds. Finally it got to a point she fired the psychiatrist. The next psychiatrist was expensive and didn't change the meds much. After a few months she heard of a different psychiatrist that actually took insurance (rare in our area) and she switched to her. She seemed to improve, but she was still drinking. Now hiding drinks. Leaving the house in the morning to get drinks. Stashing drinks in the closet or cabinets.

The past month:
It wasn't until she was drinking 2 bottles of wine a day I said you need to go to rehab or we're getting a divorce. It took an entire day and her parents to convince her to go to rehab. She went to rehab a few days later. On the car ride she almost jumped out of the car to not go. She made it though and went for a month. She had to detox the first week. Too much Xanax and alcohol. Rehab said no more Adderall, no more Xanax. Changed her meds. She did a 180. Said rehab was great. Became religious. At time of release she was offered sober living. She said no ("RED ALARM"). Offered intensive outpatient (IOP). She said no ("RED ALARM"). Offered therapy / meetings. Was going to agree to that, but I pushed for intensive outpatient, which she reluctantly agreed to do. She came home at the start of the week. No sponsor. She went to her doctopsychiatrist appointments, but pushed back on IOP starting the same week ("RED ALARM"). Over the week she kept saying she didn't want to do IOP. At the end of the week she became angry at me (she told me the reason but it made no sense) and left the house. She texted me later saying she was going to a meeting. I asked if she drank and she said no. Came home later and eventually fessed up to relapsing. The next day was her being sick most of the day due to her meds (alcohol craving meds). Yesterday she woke up depressed. Left the house saying she needed an energy drink. Came home and I believe she had bought wine. She left at noon to go to a meeting and look for a sponsor. Didn't come home for hours. While she was gone I discovered a small box of wine in her favorite hiding place. I left the discovered wine on the kitchen counter. She finally came home. Became mad at the wine. Screaming. I asked her to stop screaming and I could tell she was drunk. I then asked her to leave the house (what we agreed to on relapse). She wouldn't. I took our son out of the home to his grandparents. I returned to again ask her to leave. She wouldn't. Got physical. She pulled out a knife and said she would kill me. I feared for my safety and called the police. They arrested her.

She called me from jail saying she didn't know what to do. I said rehab. She wouldn't agree. Hung up. Called again 10 minutes later. Saying she would do IOP. I said no. Rehab. She hung up. This morning she had bail bond places calling me and her mom. Neither of us are bailing her out.

Today her face is all over Facebook mug shot pages. I'm trying to work to keep my mind above water. Also dealing with phone calls from various places. Her therapist, her treatment center, her IOP. I feel I am at the end of my rope with her but the rope magically gets longer. I know she needs *LOTS* of therapy and dealing with her feelings... it should have happened years ago.

2023.03.28 16:36 nuncio_populi Help Save Liberty State Park from Private Development and Commercialization

Hello from your neighbors in Jersey City!
As you probably know, Liberty State Park is one of the largest open spaces for community outdoors recreation in Hudson County. And we could use your help to ensure the park stays free and open for all New Jerseyans. We also want to ensure that it gets much needed investment for additional free and public community recreation.
There are two easy ways to contact your elected officials to ask them to protect Liberty State Park: 1) reach out online and 2) call!
I am providing links and phone numbers for you to reach out to your representatives about Liberty State Park at state, local, and federal levels.

By emailing and calling to voice your displeasure with the DEP's delay due to interference from Paul Fireman and the People's Park Foundation, you let them know their constituents are unhappy. If you are feeling particularly motivated, write letters to the editors at the Star-Ledger. This helps increase the risk of a P.R. nightmare for the state's leadership.
Feel free to customize your own message but here is some sample text if you want to copy and paste:
Dear {Rep Name},
I am concerned about the outlandish plans being pushed by the People's Park Foundation that will irrevocably damage Liberty State. The park has been a critical refuge for residents, visitors, and wildlife for generations.
I was eager to hear the DEP's recommendations to create wildlife sanctuaries, hiking trails, community rec fields, an outdoor amphitheater, and a restored cultural center at the old train station. Unfortunately, Commissioner LaTourette had to cancel his big community event because Paul Fireman's associates at the People's Park Foundation and LSP4All were apparently unhappy that private developers wouldn't get the chance to build massive stadiums and generate revenue from a public resource.
I am writing because I want you to protect every inch of Liberty State from Caven Point to the northern tidal basin from commercialization and overdevelopment. Liberty State should be a free, open, and accessible part of our community that balances the needs of conservation and outdoor recreation.
Sincerely,
{Your Name}
Note: I would love for you all to write your own variations of the above and post them in the comments. People can take inspiration from others and craft a better message.
