2023.03.29 12:39 Bitmap37 Don't forget we get to vote for the rewards in the refinement stage!!!
Have to drop a quick rant here. Everyone's discussing the reasons they'd vote no because the skill could have X, Y or Z and not by what they think is cool.
People were saying they dont like how taming will have pets everywhere. What you tame could only be visible to you until you command it to do something. The animals you train could bank an inventory every 30 seconds, fetch items from your safe spot, fertilise herb patches for a greater yield or literally anything else you VOTE FOR.
Sailing could have randomly generated islands with private chin areas (level depended), optimal rock layouts, more clue steps, pirate encojmunters, sea monster encounter or anything else you do or DONT VOTE FOR.
Shamanism could purely tie into other content like huntefarming/herblore and be used to expand out dead areas or not, again it'll come down to your vote.
Basically, vote for all the skills you like the look of. The community is too afraid of change for anything too drastic to sweep through and ruin your favourite content.

2023.03.29 12:26 heart_emojis0 Chill/slow paced games?
I'm looking to buy a couple new games, I hope this is the right place to ask for recommendations ahaha
I prefer playing on PC, but I do have a Switch. I don't really like competitive games, I prefer single player games. I like stuff that's like... life sim/farming sim type games or rpg games
I really like when games have character customization, graphics don't matter too much, I like anything, pixel style, cartoon-y, slightly realistic... doesn't matter much. I kindaaa like if a game has romance options but that's not a requirement.
Some games I have/like are... Stardew Valley, Cozy Grove, Sun Haven, My Time At Portia, Coral Island, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Skyrim, Animal Crossing, Sims 4, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Legend Of Zelda BOTW
I don't like Mass Effect, idk I just neverrr could get into any of the Mass Effect games The Fallout games are okay. I liked the Dragon Age games, until Inquisition, for some reason I just could not get into Inquisition, but I might give it another chance eventually.
Thank you!

| https://preview.redd.it/lhi9lelthnqa1.jpg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2448caed07604e2a64cd580ac7b2c656f1ee7289 Worried your dogs diet is not balanced or missing key nutrients? Want to add more variety? We've got you covered with amazing products that are off the beaten track(literally) to ensure you cover off all nutrient bases. They contain almost all the supernutrients your dog needs including omegas, vitamins, minerals, digestive enzymes, protein, collagen and calciume, Coenzyme Q10 and so much more! What's better they're all NATURAL nutrients not synthetic so know you're feeding the best of the best! Put simply, dogs are designed and built to eat other animals. Canine predatory teeth and short digestive tract, heightened prudery senses are obvious giveaways. Another physiological fact that reveals they are carnivores is they can’t produce their own vitamin D. Vitamin D is critical to your dog’s health, it prevents skeletal deformities in puppies, it aids the immune system to control inflammatory diseases and helps prevent cancer and is vital for skin health. Since dogs can’t manufacture vitamin D, so they rely on eating animals that do. Animals like goats, deer, cows, chickens and other herbivorous animals can manufacture vitamin D from sunshine. There is lots of it in their skin, liver and kidneys where it’s manufactured. But if your dog is eating farmed animals raised indoors starved off sunlight those animals will be vitamin D deficient. Hence your dog will be vitamin D deficient too. For commercial diets, synthetic vitamin D is added into the food to compensate but if you’re feeding your dog a raw diet that contains a lot of farmed poultry or pork, its more than likely your dog will be vitamin D deficient … unless vitamin D is added to his diet. So here's what we've put together for you.... some special combos and packs that will power up your feeding IMMEDIATELY, help BOOST natural vitamin D issue and... save you a bundle💸 ! (These products/packs include turkey, venison, water buffalo and beef all of which are wild or free ranged in nature and sunshine!) Our Easy Combo Packs are REAL raw feeding at its best so Rogue up your raw feeding now! submitted by rogue-raw to u/rogue-raw [link] [comments] |

2023.03.29 11:28 adamcookie26 I suggested Inside Job to my history teacher
Basically we were talking about conspiracies and JFK's assassination and it got me thinking about Inside Job so after class I told him about it, I kept trying to emphasize it was an adult animated TV show but I don't know if he heard me clearly so he'll probably be surprised when like the first word from drunk guy Rand is and I quote "bullshit." Now it's not that big of an issue as I'm a Junior and he's literally heard students cuss in his class but me recommending this show with it's adult things is likely not what he's gonna expect.

2023.03.29 10:09 Background-Walk-1052 Need help with two chinchillas
I am working at a school that has a small animal farm/petting zoo ( English is not my first language so i am unsure of what to call it). In the animal farm there are some parrots, a cage for some rabbits and a cage for two chinchillas.
When i first came to the school the chinchillas would hide whenever someone came near their cage but now they mainly stay near each.
When i try to feed them by hand, they come to me sometimes but other times they don't move.
When i clean their cage they get more lively and walk all over my hand and body as i have to enter the cage to fully clean it.(i don't know if that is a good thing).
I really want to do the best for them so any help would be greatly appreciated.

2023.03.29 09:57 corkerykane Artemether is a medication used for malaria, cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral applications.
Artemether is a medication used primarily for the treatment of malaria, particularly in areas where the parasite has developed resistance. It is a derivative of artemisinin, a compound found in the Artemisia annua plant, and is used in combination with other antimalarial drugs for uncomplicated and severe malaria. Artemether has also been investigated for potential pharmaceutical applications beyond malaria treatment, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral. It has been found to have cytotoxic effects on cancer cells, and is being studied for potential use in cancer treatment. It has anti-inflammatory effects in animal models of inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis. It has antiviral effects against several viruses, including HIV, dengue, and hepatitis B.

2023.03.29 09:00 SuperBiscoitinho Making a case for Taming
Uuuuh... Summoning who?
I noticed that in the discussion of for Sailing and shamanism, taming as been kind of forgotten, and today I wanted to rebate most of the points made against Taming and show how it might offer much, much more than what we are thinking.
To start off, here are the main points we should consider from yesterday's pre recorded live stream:
- The main focus of the skill is to give the creatures you capture and tame their own personalities, and not just keep them as "tools"
- Training this skill would not revolve into "capture creature, release it, repeat" but would focus on actually taming it, caring for it, and doing activities it might enjoy (for example, a bear could enjoy fishing, so you would gain taming XP by letting your bear pet fish salmon near Barb Village. That's where the meta would lie, instead of what hunting is mostly about.
- The incentive for Taming a creature isn't to just "do your normal activities but now with a random animal following you" like we have with the actual pets we have in game, but to do their very own activities that your tamed creatures might enjoy and be able to do. So, instead of just repeating an agility course, you could guide your creature to do it on its own together with other players
Now that we have these points highliged, let's talk about the main points AGAINST Taming:
- Taming should just be an expansion to Hunting
. First of all... Taming and hunting are two opposite things. And while it's true that some hunting methods use other animals, I believe that only shows how much good Taming could do to the game and other skills in the game as its own skill instead of just an expansion. The idea of having all these old and new creatures coming to the game with their own personalities and preferences open so many doors to new hunting methods, but not just hunting... Maybe even fishing, woodcutting, farming, agility, and many more! As they said in the blog, they have the fangs, the wings, maybe even the size to do things we are unable to do. So by letting this skill be its own thing, we open the doors for animals and other magical creatures to show us the way THEY interact with the world we play in!
- I don't want to see a bunch of animals following everybody everywhere in the overworked
. While that's understandable, we need to remember that the Devs have all ears on us. If we don't want the game to be overcrowded with pets, they can maybe show only in designated areas, maybe they only appear when you interact with them, we can make our voices heard about this. But I personally see potential with letting one of our companions walk beside us. As Mod Husky put it: These creatures could have their own walking and idle animation based on their personality and how loyal they are to you.
- What if it changes combat? I don't want Taming to be like Summoning!
. This is a bit of a grey area right now. But if we don't want these companions to intervene in Combat, they won't. Maybe they could have their own combat system that would work with other companions as a way to interact with other players's companions all Pokémon style, who's to say! But from what I've seen, they don't plan on making combat be the focus of this skill, the focus is in creating a long lasting bond with your creatures.
- I don't like the idea of having to stop everything just to feed my pet or having to keep inventory spaces just to not le them die
. Thankfully the Mod team knows that this is not good game design, and plan on making it so that the caring part of Taming be its own activity that you engage with IF you want to. It won't punish you if you don't do it, like your cat leaving you just because you didn't pet it once every 5 minutes. We don't know how this new system will look like yet, but we can be assured that they won't make it the same as old Jagex did back in the early 2000's.
With this said I believe I covered most complaints about the skill. Of course you can just not like the concept or the theme of the skill, that's perfectly fine. But even if you don't like it, I think it's important to acknowledge how much good this skill could bring to the game!
Being able to tame creatures, befriending them, training their abilities and seeing them interacting with the world in never seen before ways, doing their own activities or even aiding you on your own... The opportunities are limitless!
I hope I was able to convince you guys that Taming is a lot more than what some are giving credit, and that it should be a lot more considered when talking about a new skill. Thank you for reading!

2023.03.29 08:52 Jerommeke1967 Dutch Farmers
Dear Mr. Peterson,
I really enjoy your series about the Bible, really enlightening. I feel the need to react to EP340, about the Dutch farmers. I really think there are some things said there, that are not fact-based. Building a tri-state city? Please, that is a ridiculous assumption, nobody has ever talked about this, and it is totally not logical because of the differences between the cultures of the countries that would be involved.
The problem with manor has been there for at least 40 years, this was already there in my childhood. A lot of farms in The Netherlands were industrial estates, not farms like in Canada with 1000's of acres of land. The animals did not come outside and were packed in barns. All the manor had to be spread over a poststamp size piece of land and polluted the water. There was (and partly still is) a terrible animal cruelty going on in these so-called farms. The current protest were funded and supported by large international agro-industrial companies, like animal feed companies. This has been established.
If The Netherlands is feeding the world (partly), one could argue that this is more important than some local pieces of nature, and I can agree with that. But we still need to reform the bio-industry as described above to get rid of the animal cruelties and the extensive pollution.
The Netherlands is also one of the lead exporters of flowers. Now, flowers are not food and the way that flower farms are producing flower bulbs is really polluting and exhausts the soil. Do we really need that?
Now, the government has done very little for at least 40 years to address the problem, so now we're at this point in time that decisions cannot be postponed any longer. And let's face it, the farmers already knew 40 years ago that this was a problem, it is not like it is a big surprise that suddenly popped up.
There is more to the story than was portrait in the YouTube episode, I think it is unfortunate that only one side was exposed here.

They Will Be Happy
Part 1:
I woke up this morning feeling well-rested and refreshed, but also slightly disoriented. As I opened my eyes, I remembered where I was; in my sleeper pod, a device that has become as commonplace as a backpack, or a binder for students. It's hard to imagine a time when people didn't use them, when we didn't understand the impact that our actions had on the environment. Everything is pure white, with a few gray accents here and there. There are no buttons, no screens, no flashy decorations. Just a smooth, curved surface that feels cool and soft to the touch. The only thing that breaks the monotony is a small green light, indicating that the pod is ready for use. It's hard to believe that something so modern-looking can be produced so cheaply and efficiently, but that's the power of mass production. When we first started using them, there was some resistance. People thought it was too impersonal, too “clinical.” As the benefits became clear, and the process became more refined, the objections faded away.
The farming and cultivation of meat is almost non-existent now, given the exorbitant carbon costs associated with it. On the bright side, the preparation and cultivation of insects has advanced to such a degree that most people can barely tell the difference. I used to be hesitant about the idea, but now I enjoy my cricket granola bars and mealworm tacos just as much as I used to enjoy traditional meat-based dishes. It's a responsibility we take seriously, and one that we're taught from a young age. It's frustrating to think that some of our parents don't understand the urgency of the situation. They seem content to live in the past, ignorant of the harm that's been done, but I won't let their complacency deter me from doing what's right. I'll continue to do my part, to use my voice and my actions to make a positive impact. And perhaps, with time and education, they'll come to see that this isn't just a passing trend; it's a necessity for survival.
I make my way to The Girls Dormitory, and I can’t help but appreciate how clean and modern everything looks. It’s a testament to the fact that even small changes in our habits can make a massive difference. We share community spaces to cut back on carbon, and everyone commits to using as few cosmetics as possible once again as a way to save the planet, but also to go light on our individual carbon credit allotments. It's the little things that add up, and I'm proud to be a part of a community that takes these issues seriously. Inside the dormitory, I was greeted by my fellow residents, all of whom were equally committed to the cause. We chatted and caught up on our day, I couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie. It's not just about saving the planet; it's about coming together to create a better future for everyone.
After a long day of classes, I find myself eagerly anticipating the protest I'm attending after school. It's a rally to promote positive vibes within the trans community, and as an “ally,” it's my responsibility to show up and show lend support. It's not always easy to make time for activism, especially when there are so many other demands on my time, but I know that it's important to prioritize this cause. I make my way to the protest reflecting on how far we've come as a society. The world outside my sleeper pod is not perfect, but it's a far cry from the world my parents grew up in. There is greater awareness and acceptance of marginalized communities, and more and more people are willing to stand up and fight for what's right.
Still, there is much work to be done, and it's up to all of us to fight for their rights and dignity. I'm proud to be a part of this movement, to use my privilege and voice to amplify their message. I'm struck by the energy and passion of the crowd. People from all walks of life have come together to stand in solidarity, and there's a sense of hope and determination in the air; a belief that we can make a difference, and that we can create a better world for all.
I remember the day when the President's daughter came out as transgender. It was all over the news, and there was so much talk about it in my school. As someone who considers themselves an ally to the LGBTQ+ community, I was so happy to see someone in such a powerful position be open and honest about who they are. It gave me hope that one day, people won't have to hide who they are and can live their lives authentically. I admire her because she knew that by coming out, she would be under a lot of scrutiny, but she did it anyway because it was the right thing to do. I think that's what makes her a hero in my eyes.
There has been a slow but noticeable rise in “Phoenix Pods” popping up around the city. These pods offer a painless and dignified way for people with chronic illnesses to end their suffering, and at the same time, they provide a sustainable solution to the issue of burial space. The idea of being planted back into the earth and becoming part of the planet itself is actually quite beautiful, if you think about it. I know some people are uncomfortable with the idea of assisted suicide, but I see it as a brave and selfless act. These individuals are taking on the responsibility of reducing their carbon footprint and easing the strain on our already overburdened planet. It's a sacrifice that shouldn't be taken lightly, but I can't help but admire the courage and conviction of those who choose this path. A person who decides to use the pod also has the option to give their remaining carbon credits to friends and family allowing them to escape climate debt and live more meaningful lives.
I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe as I watched The President’s daughter use one of these pods on a livestream. It was a somber moment, to be sure, but it was also a powerful statement of commitment to Mother Earth. I feel a sense of pride in the way that my generation has embraced this new technology as a solution to the population crisis. These devices have become the symbol of hope and sacrifice, a way for people to take responsibility for their impact on the planet and to leave behind a legacy of stewardship. Her passing was a call to action, a reminder that we all have a role to play; and in the aftermath of her death, there was a renewed sense of urgency and commitment to the cause. The moment was bittersweet, but I can’t help but feel hopeful for the future. Her sacrifice has become a powerful tool for change, and she has shown the world that sometimes the greatest act of courage is to let go.
My family is in debt because they don’t understand the way we do things now. They can't properly recycle, and they use far too much energy. I have tried to talk to them about it, but bad habits are difficult for people to change. I love my life, my friends, and my family but if I was to enter one of The Phoenix Pods, it could make a difference. It could help my family become carbon neutral again. I could be reborn as part of the earth again, and my body can nourish the plants and animals in my local community. It’s a beautiful cycle.
The process itself is clean and efficient. Every part of the body is used to create sustainable resources that can help the rest of humanity thrive. Your body is turned into energy and fertilizer, and anything that can’t be used will be broken down over time. Finally, there is a message board online for only those who decide to use The Phoenix Pods, and you get to make one final statement. Something to leave behind for those who wish to remember your noble sacrifice, or a fond farewell to loved ones.
One would think that thoughts of suicide would have me emotionally distraught, but I feel a sense of peace. I have found a way to take responsibility for my actions, and to make a positive impact on the world around me. I know that not everyone will understand, but I do. Am I willing to do what was necessary to save The Earth? To set my family free? To give back some of what I have already taken?
As I read blogs and message boards, I realize that I'm not alone. There are others like me, who see the value in taking responsibility for our actions, and who want to make a positive impact. Together, maybe we could create change, and perhaps even inspire others to do the same. I know that my decision will not be easy, and that there will be those who will judge and condemn me for it. I also know that I am doing what is right, not just for myself, but for those who will come after me.
I researched the different types of pods available and came across some that are designed for multiple people. The idea of leaving this world with my friends by my side gives me a sense of comfort. We could support each other through the process and leave this world as a community. Are my friends having similar thoughts? Perhaps, we could make the decision together, and in doing so, create a ripple effect that would inspire others to take action in this wonderful act of bravery and love. Love for the planet, and love for those around me who would be impacted by my choices, and love for those who have yet to understand what we are fighting for.

2023.03.29 08:07 JoshMohawk This can of worms…
Religion wants us to believe in god. They want us to believe he is real, and that he is all-powerful. However, this raises just a few questions in my mind.
Questions like: why would an all powerful god need a middleman? Couldn’t he just deal with everyone individually? Why do we need a religious leader to speak for god? Before you say that’s impossible because there are too may of us, and he’s very busy, I’m gonna ask remember one thing. He is suppose for be all-powerful. That suggests time bends to his will. He supposedly had time to create everyone, right? And there is even a scripture somewhere that says he counted every hair on our heads, so, obviously, he’s not pressed for time. But he can’t spare 10 seconds to come say “Hi, I’m god. Yes, I’m real. Welcome to the planet I made for you guys. Real quick, lemme just perform a quick miracle to prove I’m me, and the I’ll get out of your hair. What miracle would most impress you?” If he had been doing that all along, we wouldn’t be having this discussion. And that leads to my next questions.
If he dealt with people directly, wouldn’t that eliminate a lot of confusion? Wouldn’t that have prevented a lot of wars?
Most of the wars ever fought were fought over things like the following clashes of opinion:
- does god exist?
- which god is the true god?
- which nation has god’s support?
- what is god’s favorite football team?
Couldn’t god have spared like 5 or 10 minutes each time a couple of nations were squaring off with each other (because of him, I might add), and invited them to a nice lunch where they could discuss healthier ways to handle differences in opinion, while establishing the correct answers to all of those questions in the process? Or was his time not worth the hundreds of millions of lives lost while fighting wars over him? I mean, if he really loved us, it stands to reason that he would step in occasionally when things go too far. I think these are legitimate questions, and no one has really come up with a satisfactory answer that supports the idea of there being an all-powerful, loving god.
Think about a pet owner. Being human means that pet owners are far more intelligent than their pets. They are superior to their pets in much the same way god is supposed to be superior to us. And pet owners love their pets enough that they wouldn’t allow their pets to kill each other over which of them is loved the most. If his puppy’s start tearing each other to ribbons, a loving pet owner steps in and shuts that situation down in a hurry, before anyone gets hurt. Meanwhile, we are told that god loves us like his own children, right? Aren’t children supposed to be more loved than pets? I’m not so sure. Consider the fact that farm animals (even the ones the farmer actually plans to have killed and divided up into delicious cuts of meat), are better tended to by the farmer (who, by the way, makes it a point to not get attached to them, for obvious reasons) than we are by god. Think about that. A farmer takes BETTER care of the animals he plans to murder and serve with a side of mashed potatoes than the care god gives us, yet we are supposedly god’s flock, and he loves us like his own children? The irony of that is lost on most people, but it’s pretty hard for me to ignore.
Besides, how can there be a loving god, if he allows people to continue putting pineapple on pizza. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. That was my breaking point. Surely, that should have been the point that god would have stepped in to set things right again. Even if god truly hated us, he wouldn’t make us go through that. No one should wish pineapple pizza on anyone. Ever. And yet, there’s no sign of god. Not even in any of the pizza shops, where that insane bullshit happens every day.
So, my conclusion is that there can be no god.
I mean, I’m open to being proven wrong. But so far, no one has been able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that there is a god. Just be advised, if you think I’m wrong, the proof better blow my socks off, because I feel like I have a pretty strong case.
Oh, and please tell me that at least one of you caught my slick little pun in the second paragraph… submitted by

Let's get to the Phonology. You see, Fee is not meant for you humans to speak,
it's for the higher level of cat entities, so it's impossible for humans to speak proper Fee.
However there is a humanized version of the pronunciation, so you can use that instead
PS
There are three vowels and seven consonants
SPELLING FEE PRONUNCIATION HUMAN PRONUNCIATION A; Purr [ɤ] I; High meow [ɨ] O; Low meow [ɵ] F; Flop [v] K; Cat kiss [ɣ] N; Nuzzles [l] P; Pouncing [ʙ] S; Sniff [z] T; Tail wag [ð] .; Pawing [ɦ]
Each phoneme is a syllable, but a consonant-vowel pair is counted as one syllable rather than two
ENBY
Every letter in isolation serves as a grammatical particle, which links or modifies its following word(s):
A; Quotes and relative clauses I; Perfective O; Genitive F; Compounds K; Names N; Negatives P; Accusative S; Plurals and numbers T; Topic marker
There's one exception tho, <.> is used for separating sentences and is glossed as SD (Sentence Divider)
SKY
HyperFeline counts in binary, where O, I and <.> are 0, 1 and the binary point respectively
S is mandatory for the numbers 0 and 1 themselves as cardinals, but for every other cardinal and every ordinal, S is not required
Ordinals are followed with the particle OT
UB
And here's the translation of the diatribe:
KI N I ON P AP O PFNP .
1P NEG PERF understand ACC appeal GEN BFLP SD
I never understood the appeal of BFLP

CORK
And now the other two teams
SAPPHIRE
So this is the conlang Enyahu, whose name means "they cause (it) to speak"
COSMOS
Enyahu has 6 vowels and 13 consonants. Most letters in the romanization are pronounced the same as in the IPA, so I only have to annotate the ones that differ

Ñ /ŋ/
O

* The glottal stop is not written word initially, for the syllable structure is CV(C)
LUCKIE
Enyahu's grammar is highly inflecting, which is evident from the gloss of the diatribe:
1P-ERG NEG understand-1P-3P-IMP-INDC-ACT appeal-CON BFLP-ABS

Nouns take 12 cases, while verbs take 7 persons for the subject and (if the verb is transitive) the object,
2 aspects, 3 moods and 3 voices. Thus there are 126 forms of every intransitive verb, while transitive verbs have 882 forms
The affixes are single phonemes almost all of which are consonants. The gaps between the consonants are filled with epenthetic vowels to form words
=THE SUFFIXES=

Voluntary actions align Accusatively, while involuntary actions align Ergatively
The Genitive is only used if the possession is alienable. For inalienable possession, the possessor is marked with the Constructive case instead
Cases are also used to mark the role of embedded clauses and to nominalize verbs
Adjectives agree with their nouns by case, and adverbs agree with their verbs in everything that verbs take except person marking
SAPPHIRE
And now, the diatribe proper:
Mer lë ontërah ëpilkë Elpi
I've involuntarily never understood the intrinsic appeal of BFLP
Përsër epësra ritëñon sëtaryë tërayahoñ tëskasyahoñ woyahum yë
The first episode that I voluntarily read, started via involuntarily "trying" to gross out the viewer (lit. "they cause to watch")
Apwiyë me lë ritë
Obviously, I voluntarily didn't continue reading it
DISHRAG
Both of those languages were disturbing, but it's up to the readers to decide which of the two clongs is the more cursed one
CORK
Next episode marks the start of CADR having contests, like a normal object show would. See you all then!

2023.03.29 07:38 Tek466 21 [M4F] Illinois/Anywhere/Online - Where’s my spicy Cinnamon Girl? Night owl up late seeks a flirty friendship or FWB with someone around my age or older.
Hi!
Bonus to you if you get the Cinnamon Girl Type O Negative reference :P
My name is Dylan and I’m a 21 year old single guy from northeastern Illinois in the US.
I’m seeking some kind of close connection with someone around my age or older. Friendship being the main thing, however, I’m definitely open to things getting a bit spicier than that, whether that’s something where we remain friends yet can be flirty or romantic such as a friend with benefits for example.
I like to say upfront that I will always be mindful and considerate of your feelings and boundaries, especially concerning anything flirty or more intimate that we might get into. It’s important to me and we’d never have to do anything we weren’t comfortable with or ready for.
Physically I'm 6ft tall, I'm average/slim build, and I'm white/Caucasian with hazel eyes and dark brown hair. I wear glasses too.
I don’t have any preference on body type for whom I find attractive. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. I’m also attracted to people older than me as well, hence being so open to meeting people.
I’m currently living at home, trying to get a job at a warehouse but long term career goals so far is to do something in the electrical field/trades such as a fire alarm systems technician as I’m good with technical things like that. I’ve got older parents and I live on a main road in a small farm house so I’ve been feeling pretty lonely most of my life. I’ve listed some interests of mine below!
Now that we've established who I am and what I'm looking for, here are a few interests of mine to get to know me better!
• Fall/Autumn season
I had to list this one because I just adore the fall and everything that comes with it. My birthday is in October too so it's always been my favorite month. I much prefer fall and winter over a muggy humid summer. In the cooler seasons there's always ways to warm up.
• Candles and Incense
I love scented candles and incense and stuff like this!! I feel like you don't find guys into this stuff that much but I definitely am an exception. Right now I’m burning a citrus and sage one from Yankee Candle! Smells so nice.
• Technology
I'm good at fixing electronics and I'm quite nerdy in that aspect. So if something breaks I can fix it ;) I'm also good with my hands and quite inclined mechanically and quite the nerd.
• Music
I love genres such as classic rock, alternative rock, psychedelic rock, gothic rock, heavy metal, punk, post punk, hardcore, etc. My current favorite bands are The Cure and Joy Division/New Order. But I like tons of older and newer bands as well. such as: Bauhaus, Velvet Underground, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Type O Negative, Nirvana, Rush, Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, the Wipers, Spacemen 3, Meshuggah, Megadeth, Buzzcocks, MC5, Stooges, 13th Floor Elevators, Screaming Trees, Green Day, Alice in Chains, Asylum Party, My Bloody Valentine, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Jefferson Airplane, etc.
• Cooking and Baking
I like to cook and learn new recipes, as well as bake fun things too! It's always nice when the house feels nice and cozy and smells good. I appreciate the simple pleasures in life, a cozy cup of tea and music or a movie in bed or sitting outside is so nice!
• Animals
I love animals of all types, and I currently have an older cat which I adore to death! We rescued her from the local shelter. She's the sweetest thing. (I think I love her more than anyone in the house lol, she just makes me so happy) :) I also don't kill insects or bugs, I catch and release them outside.
• Art
I enjoy art, both creating it from time to time such as drawing, and admiring other peoples work. There's just something so fun about it and seeing things so beautiful.
• Houseplants
I love houseplants and really anything nature related and also spiritual such as crystals and rocks. I love to help my mom in caring for all of our plants and also gardening outside when its a good growing season. Its fun! I also like cottage core and goblin core type vibes and enjoy sitting out on the deck burning incense, its peaceful :)
• Photography
I recently got a DSLR camera, a Nikon D5500 and a D200 and I've really been enjoying taking photos of my cat and nature landscapes! This includes closeups, photos of trees, the fields, etc. I've been working a lot on composition, long exposures, getting nice blurred backgrounds, depth of field, etc. It's interesting to me.
That’s me! I hope you get a good taste of what I am like and if any of this catches your interest I’d love to hear from you and we can get to know each other further. Thanks for taking the time to read my post, hope to hear from you soon.

2023.03.29 07:10 jershdahersh Why are peoples thoughts on gun rights so extreme
I 100% believe people should be able to get a gun, but I also 100% believe guns should be controlled. It always seems to me the loudest people thus those you hear the most are those who want to ban all guns or those who think everyone should have a gun isn't there a middle ground to go to like in order to get a gun you should pass certain tests and prove you have a place to store the guns safely once you purchase one. I also don't agree with guns being the problem guns arent going away and I don't think they should I've lived on a farm my whole life guns are a necessity to protect our animals and what about the causes for someone to snap we need better mental and physical health facilities which are affordable or even paid for by texes my point being things arent written in binary our solutions shouldn't be written in a language ignoring nuance and only speaking in absolutes

2023.03.29 07:05 AlexanderPANASONIC Can anyone find a specific quote of the band talking about their name? (Panchiko being a misspelling of "Pachinko")
I'm researching Panchiko, but am trying to cite everything I add to my notes. I've been able to cite everything adequately,
except the information about their band name. So many sources outright tell us that Panchiko's name is just a misspelling of the Japanese arcade game "Pachinko"..... (which, duh, lol of course)..... yet I can't seem to find Panchiko confirming this fact themselves, which is what I'm really after. I've even paged through the official Panchikord Discord, and searched for different keywords, but to no avail. However, I've found a few people who specifically explain the naming as something that
"just stuck".
As if it's a direct quote... in one source's case, it's attributed to Andy. I've found the following:
- Wikitia reads " According to guitarist and engineer Andy, the name Panchiko came from an attempt at naming the band after the Japanese slot machines but was accidentally misspelled and “it just stuck”.
- In this video, the narrator says, "Andy said the band's name indeed came from Pachinko, but was accidentally misspelled, and-- 'it just stuck'."
- I searched through the Panchikord Discord, and I found a user saying this. ("They mispelled it and "it just stuck".")
- This Amino biography reads: "Yes, the name was based off the Japanese slot machine, Pachinko. The name was misspelled but they decided to keep it."
Yet, I can't find a genuine explanation coming from any of the band members themselves. Has anyone ever seen/heard the band members explaining their name? Thanks in advance, this trivial little conundrum is driving me insane!
